Los procesos de internacionalización en la educación superior comprenden una variedad de complejos compromisos institucionales a cargo de las universidades. Ante esto, la Internacionalización en Casa (IeC) surge como mecanismo alternativo para aquellas instituciones que inician procesos de implementación de este fenómeno, pues dentro de sus posibilidades está la inclusión de contenidos globales en los currículos de los programas que ofertan. Tal es el caso del programa de Contaduría de la Universidad del Magdalena, el cual ofrece un plan de estudios cuyo eje de profesionalización presenta un potencial de reforma bajo los estándares de educación contable (IES, por sus siglas en inglés) de la Federación Internacional de Contadores (IFAC, por sus siglas en inglés). Para establecer dicha posibilidad, se hizo un recorrido conceptual previo en virtud de las labores de una investigación doctoral, desde la cual se propone que esta institución inicie una evaluación curricular con miras a adaptar los contenidos de los IES de IFAC, considerados como las mejores prácticas de enseñanza contable a nivel mundial. Esto resulta posible, pues los procesos curriculares, sean estos de formulación, evaluación o reforma, constituyen momentos institucionales propicios para replantear el norte pedagógico de los procesos formativos que estas llevan a cabo al interior de sus aulas.

Abstract

A new method of shower-image analysis is presented which appears very powerful as applied to those Cherenkov Imaging Telescopes with very high definition imaging capability. It provides hadron rejection on the basis of a single cut on the image shape, and simultaneously determines the energy of the electromagnetic shower and the position of the shower axis with respect to the detector. The source location is also reconstructed for each individual gamma-ray shower, even with one single telescope, so for a point source the hadron rejection can be further improved. As an example, this new method is applied to data from the CAT (Cherenkov Array at Themis) imaging telescope, which has been operational since Autumn, 1996., Comment: 22 pages. submitted to Elsevier Preprint

Abstract

The CAT (Cherenkov Array at Themis) imaging telescope, equipped with a very-high-definition camera (546 fast phototubes with 0.12 degrees spacing surrounded by 54 larger tubes in two guard rings) started operation in Autumn 1996 on the site of the former solar plant Themis (France). Using the atmospheric Cherenkov technique, it detects and identifies very high energy gamma-rays in the range 250 GeV to a few tens of TeV. Abstract

The CAT imaging telesope, which uses the Atmospheric Cherenkov Technique to observe TeV gamma-ray sources, has been operating since September 1996. Located in southern France, it features a fine grained camera consisting of 546 PMT with a pixel size of 0.12 degrees. Strong gamma-ray signals from Mkn 501 above 200 GeV were detected during observations made in April 1997. The high signal/noise ratio for these data enables direct characterization of the gamma-ray images as recorded in the camera. These results are used to validate the Monte-Carlo simulations of the response of the telescope to gamma-ray showers and to improve its performances. Abstract

The CAT imaging telescope, recently built on the site of the former solar plant Themis (French Pyrenees), observed gamma-rays from the Crab nebula from October 1996 to March 1997. This steady source, often considered as the standard candle of very-high-energy gamma-ray astronomy, is used as a test-beam to probe the performances of the new telescope, particularly its energy threshold (220 GeV at 20 degrees zenith angle) and the stability of its response. Abstract

Four iron(II) complexes, bearing hexa-, penta- or tetra-azadentate ligands, whose redox potentials (for the FeIII/FeII couple) vary from +280 to +1023 mV (versus saturated calomel electrode), were compared as catalysts for the oxidation of various substrates by H2O2. These complexes were bad catalysts for alkene epoxidation or alkane hydroxylation, whereas those exhibiting the highest redox potentials were interesting catalysts for the hydroxylation of aromatic compounds. For most of them, addition of an appropriate reducing agent, such as hydroquinones, PhSH or tetrahydropterins, in the medium, led to spectacular increases of the yields of hydroxylation of aromatic compounds such as anisole, toluene, ethylbenzene, benzene and naphthalene (with final yields based on H2O2 up to 69, 33, 18, 40 and 47%, respectively). Such systems catalyzed the transfer of an oxygen atom from H2O2, as shown by experiments using H2 18 O 2 and H2 18 O , into anisole with yields based on starting H2O2 up to 69%.

Abstract

Resumen basado en el de la publicación La utilización de la interacción entre personas utilizada como elemento favorecedor de la actividad educativa y del proceso de aprendizaje, no ha recibido el mismo tratamiento a lo largo de la historia. Este trabajo supone una breve recapitulación histórica de las diferentes visiones de este proceso de interacción. Se establecen cuatro momentos históricos en el desarrollo de la actividad cooperativa en el aula: Los ancestros se sitúan en el movimiento humanista francés del siglo XVI que conducen, tras un complejo camino, a la enseñanza mutua de Pestalozzi, que es el primer paso de la cooperación intra-aula; tras una reflexión sobre los movimientos posteriores a Rousseau y con los inicios de la Psicología científica de finales del XIX se desemboca en el funcionalismo de Dewey y de ahí, pasando por las aportaciones de la psicología social de mediados del siglo XX, a la concepción actual del aprendizaje cooperativo; finalmente, un último momento histórico se augura para un futuro efectivo, eficiente y esperanzado de la cooperación y de los métodos de aprendizaje cooperativo y es el determinado por la integración, en un sistema único, de las teorías de Piaget y Vygotsky. Abstract

The Schiff base N-(tert-butyl)-3-methoxysalicylaldimine (LH) forms a complex with gadolinium(III) chloride, [GdCl(2)(LH)(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)](+), in which the two O atoms of each ligand are coordinated (the phenolic O atom being deprotonated) and the imine N atom is protonated and involved in a hydrogen bond with the phenoxide group. This complex crystallizes as an ion pair with uranyl tetrachloride, i.e. bis(bis[2-(tert-butyliminiomethyl)-6-methoxyphenolato-O,O']dichlorobis(pyridine-N)gadolinium(III)) tetrachlorodioxouranium(VI) tetrapyridine solvate [GdCl(2)(C(12)H(17)NO(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)](2)[UCl(4)O(2)].4C(5)H(5)N. The U atom of the UCl(4)O(2) anion lies on an inversion centre.

Abstract

For an anthropology of communication What do we mean by “anthropology of communication”? The term is used for the ethnographic analysis of human communication as well as for behavioural changes due to the application of new information technologies. We put forward an introduction (below), to be followed by seven texts: three reflections on “anthropology”, three on “communication” and one concerned with the overlap between these two concepts. Starting with December 2004, these papers will be accessible at the rate of one paper a month. Our intention is to search for all terms associated with “anthropology” and “communication”, to create an inventory of representative semantic fields for them, to indicate current overlaps established by colleagues carrying out communications and information research as well as possible overlaps in the future.

The CAT imaging telesope, which uses the Atmospheric Cherenkov Technique to observe TeV gamma-ray sources, has been operating since September 1996. Located in southern France, it features a fine grained camera consisting of 546 PMT with a pixel size of 0.12 degrees. Strong gamma-ray signals from Mkn 501 above 200 GeV were detected during observations made in April 1997. The high signal/noise ratio for these data enables direct characterization of the gamma-ray images as recorded in the camera. These results are used to validate the Monte-Carlo simulations of the response of the telescope to gamma-ray showers and to improve its performances. Observational results on Mkn 180 and the Crab nebula spectrum are presented.

Abstract

The THEMISTOCLE array of 18 Cherenkov detectors which has a 3 TeV gamma energy threshold, has detected a signal from the Crab nebula at a 5.8 standard deviation level. Information on the energy spectrum is obtained in the range 3–15 TeV. The integrated flux can be fitted with the form, Φ (> E) = (3.7 ± 0.5) × 10-12 (E/5)-−1.5 ± 0.20 cm−2 s−1 (E in TeV) compatible with the extrapolation of results at lower energies. The Crab signal is used to measure the angular resolution of the multi-telescope technique. The value obtained is 2.3 mr (0.15°) in agreement with the results of simulations, and confirms the interest of this new method for multi-TeV gamma-ray detection.

Abstract

According to our previous fMRI study, a small region in the parietal operculum 3 (OP3) was hyperactivated as a function of tinnitus periodicity in subjects with acoustic trauma tinnitus sequelae. This region was localized in the vicinity of neural correlates of middle-ear tympano-ossicular chain movements due to pressure variations. Disturbed proprioceptors are known to trigger illusory perceptions; therefore, we hypothesized that a disturbance of middle-ear proprioceptors may originate phantom sound perceptions. We designed a 3T fMRI study that aimed to stimulate middle-ear proprioceptors by repetitive vibrations applied bilaterally using various rates of click trains. In all of the healthy subjects included in the fMRI protocol, the 30 Hz vibration rate compared to 8 Hz vibration rate, systematically triggered a clear tonal whistling tinnitus-like aftereffect tnat was perceived in both ears. We studied the neural correlates of these various stimulation and there differential aftereffects using SPM12. The fMRI neural correlates of the aftereffect inducing tinnitus were unequivocally localized in the same parietal region as in acoustic trauma tinnitus sufferers. This region is located at the insulo-parietal junction in OP3 [MNI: 42-18 22], after DARTEL acute registration this region was slightly shifted in antero-post plane [MNI: 40-13 17] but still in OP3. In addition DARTEL registration revealed an hyperactivation in the primary somatosensory cortex (area 3a/3b) in the face region [MNI: -54-13 40]. Somatosensory cortex area 3a and 3b and opercular regions are known to be involved in in proprioception and kinesthetic illusions. Activation of auditory areas were not elicited in this experiment beside the fact that subjects perceived tinnitus. Our results strongly suggest that a middle-ear kinesthetic/proprioceptive illusion exists at the origin of acoustic trauma tinnitus via a somatosensory pathway encompassing the trigeminal system.
