The longwall Ziemowit coal mine (Poland) is to secure the exit side of a reinforced wall with self-drilling anchors for the safe and efficient commissioning of the second wall deck layer. Factors to be taken into account include: specific technical solutions under given conditions; load calculations and strength analysis of designed solutions; and the safe application of the solution in all phases of work. Self-drilling injection anchors will be used to improve the roof conditions, both during mining and the reconstruction of workings. Experience so far at Ziemowit shows that the use of self-drilling anchors improves the safety of the working crew as well as the economic results. Discussion is presented of the characteristics of self-drilling injection anchors at the mine, maintaining face/entry crossings, alterations made with the use of roadheaders, and other reinforcements of underground pits., The longwall Ziemowit coal mine (Poland) is to secure the exit side of a reinforced wall with self-drilling anchors for the safe and efficient commissioning of the second wall deck layer.
