The research problem is the influence of global crisis on identity and daily life of Montenegrin people. The subject is the political construction of (Montenegrin) identity, as a result of social control on everyday life, where identities are born. For the purpose of researching this relation, the starting point is the explanatory potential of J. Habermas's contemporary socio-political theory about the colonization of the lifeworld by an expansionist logic of the political-economic constellation (system). Scientific goals are: 1) description of the colonization of the lifeworld and the construction of (Montenegrin) identity, as an indicator of social crisis (in Montenegro); 2) understanding the causal factors (causes, motives) of (Montenegrin) identity construction; 3) generic explanation of the political construction of (Montenegrin) identity, through strategies, policies, educational and media influences. Social goals refer to: 1) expansion of the fund of knowledge about contemporary (Montenegrin) society and its problematic aspects; 2) pragmatic explanations of the problem of social control of everyday life through the re-actualization of socio-political concepts; 3) indication of guidelines for possible changes for the better in the sphere of everyday life in the foreseeable future. The methodology concerns the main hypothesis that by constructing the identity of people in the post-industrial society, social control of everyday life is realized. Auxiliary hypotheses are: 1) Identity construction takes place through strategies, policies, educational and media influences as segments of social control aimed at managing social resources from the local to the global level. 2) With instruments of social control, a desirable system of values of individuals and social groups is established with the aim of preventing, delaying, compensating, and transforming their potential subversive action (undermining the system from within). The independent or causal variable is the social control of everyday life, while the dependent or consequential variable is the constructed identity. Making final findings will be facilitated by the synthesis, inductive and deductive methods of reasoning, as well as the method of comparison with a case study. The results refer to the achieved goals and the general conclusion that the system's power logic reduces the sphere of free and open communication of individuals, thus their identity becomes a place of permanent crisis due to the threat of the meaning of everyday life within which identity is formulated. This crisis is the reason that identities will remain endangered until the question of alienation of life is raised, in accordance with the capitalist imperatives of unlimited economic growth and consumption, and instrumental-rational interaction. As a reaction to the system dominance, the forces of resistance are strengthening, in the form of new alternative grassroots social movements, such as Civil Movement United Reform Action (URA), in Montenegro, which is pro-European green political party of the left center and social-liberal ideological provenance. Taking stock of individuals’ perceived family ideals is particularly important in the current moment given unprecedented fertility declines and the diversification of households in advanced industrial societies. Study participants in urban China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, Italy, Spain, and Norway were asked to evaluate vignettes describing families whose characteristics vary on ten dimensions. In contrast to previous studies that focused on a single dimension, such as fertility ideals or gender roles, this holistic vignette approach identifies the relative importance of each dimension. Multilevel regression analysis reveals both expected and unexpected findings. Parenthood remains a positive ideal, but the number of children does not matter once other family dimensions are considered, a potentially important finding in light of conventional wisdom regarding the two-children ideal. When evaluating families with at least one child, respondents tend to positively evaluate more traditional arrangements, including valuing marriage relative to cohabitation and, particularly, divorce. Also, in addition to financial resources, good communication between immediate and extended family members, as well as maintaining respect in the larger community, are highly salient attributes of an ideal family. Notwithstanding some important cross-national differences, egalitarian gender roles and avoiding work– family conflict are also valued positively. This article compares a corpus of object lives in children's and youth literature with it-fiction, a narrative subgenre from the 18th and 19th centuries. The thematic and formal connections between these modern and contemporary productions are analyzed, concluding that they have philosophical, aesthetic, and cultural links regarding the relationship between societies and objects. The protagonists of these narratives transcend their materiality and challenge readers about the relationship between human beings and artifacts, globalization, and the consequences of capitalism in post-industrial societies. Purpose -- The research aim of the article is the analysis of advanced/developed and developing countries in the context of sustainable development, using invariant coordinate system in energy units, as well as the impact of structural changes in the economy affect the possibility of transition to sustainable development and creation post-industrial society. Research methodology -- In order to achieve the aim were applied the method of socio-economic systems power changes analyzing in the frame of structural economic Kaldor model of GDP and the energy flows models. Finding -- The advanced countries have seen a trend of "zero growth" and a decrease in useful energy production in the last 10 years. These countries have high labor productivity, technological level and diminishing potential for sustainable development. China is in the stage of "growth and development" and has great potential. Data calculated by the authors of the article correlates with the findings of the Kaldor model. Research limitation -- The initial interpretation of the calculated data of France, Germany, Japan, USA, European Union and China was made. Countries have been analyzed in the period from 1990 to 2019. The data of the Central Statistical Office of EU and the World Bank were used. Practical implications -- The results of the study can be used to further planning and design of transition to sustainable development for advanced and developing countries. Originality/Value -- within the framework of the approach, an invariant coordinates system in energy units is proposed and the main parameters for assessing the potential of growth and sustainable development for advanced countries were formed. The article examines the problem of interdependence of post-industrial society and the level of education based on the study of scientific and periodical sources. The meaning of the concept of "smart education" is clarified, its main elements are described. Studying the development of smart education in different regions of the world, conclusions are made about the impact of economic inequality and objective negative processes such as war. On the other hand, if previously weaker states involved the elements of intelligent education at a slow pace, today the acceleration of this pace is dictated by the objective world situation. The topicality of the topic is confirmed by the global focus on education problems, since today the crisis demonstrated the practically underdeveloped mechanism of smart education in all countries, which in difficult conditions was the most unbalanced, and in some regions was absent at all. The practical significance of the article is that the conclusions about the application of neuroscientific analysis of smart technologies, especially foreign ones, can be used in the smart concept of our country. Countering the theses of 'post-industrial society', in this article we develop the argument that platform capitalism synthesises the radicalisation and the spread of the logic of industrial production. In our analysis of platform capitalism and the mechanisms of outsourcing, we argue that online platforms provide empirical evidence of the development of the industrial logic of the production of goods (whether products or services, material and/or immaterial, tangible or intangible). They are the tip of the iceberg of an entire productive structure reconfigured by information technologies and neoliberal policies that are shaping an industrial platform capitalism. This process is ongoing, and we observe its tendency to spread the platformisation of work and its forms of exploitation, of labour relations devoid of rights. However, as in every other moment in the history of capitalism, this exploitation meets resistance from workers' struggles, which exposes perverse facets of platform work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper reflects the results of the ongoing discussion about sustainable development in Slovakia as an increasingly urgent topic resonating across scientific disciplines. Specifically, it deals with the participation processes, which were realized in 2022-2023 under the auspices of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic (MIRRI), and the second part of which was implemented at the Institute of Management of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava using its expert and organizational capacities. The mentioned activities follow the strategic document entitled Vision and Development Strategy of Slovakia 2030 and are related to the preparation of the document Vision and Development Strategy of the Slovak Republic until 2050 - Slovakia 2050. In the light of the outputs from the participation processes, the paper deals, among other things, with the necessity of accelerating the transformation of regional economies from the industrial towards the post-industrial society, including sustainable innovation-oriented circular economy less dependent on raw materials and energy, with the simultaneous optimization of the system of decision-making and effective management, based on partnership and division of responsibilities between different levels and various actors of sustainable development. It also points out that discussions about this vision have the potential to significantly frame the creation of concepts of integrated territorial innovation-oriented clusters, the urgency of which - in parallel with the frustration of the ineffectiveness of fragmented development processes and activities - is felt at different levels by practically all participating subjects of the professional discourse analyzed in this paper. The results of the participation process fully confirm that Slovakia is not adequately prepared to respond to the challenges associated with all the necessary transformation processes. With the rise of post-industrial society, an ever bigger share of work takes the form of immaterial labour. While organizations of post-industrial economy continue to be gendered, the mechanisms for reproducing gender disparities are different than those in the traditional career path of the industrial era. Gender, which is the anchoring of a certain group of individuals in a specific sphere of social activities, gets re-produced as the segregation into ‘more’ and ‘less’ efficient workers takes place: quite often this is segregation into women and men. Latin American and Caribbean countries' per capita GDP increased 700% from 1900 to 2020. Yet, by this same year, nearly four out of ten people in the region went through moderate or severe food insecurity. If institutions are the fabric of society, molding the organization of social provisioning, some serious aggravation to Latin America's already disharmonic institutions must be taking place. High levels of institutional discord is not news in the region, of course. But the coming to office of progressive governments, in a "Pink Tide," raised hopes that functional adjustments were possible. Part of those hopes derived from the absorption of human-rights and environmental concerns from post-industrial societies. These additions to the development agenda, however, also inflamed a reaction that made the levels of institutional dissension skyrocket. Already fragile development conventions were hit hard. Two large institutional sets that shape underdevelopment—reminiscent colonial institutions and consumption propensities that emulate industrial societies—are now impinged by those new ongoing concerns from developed countries. The authors have attempted a philosophical essay to comprehend the phenomenon of statehood, society, decentralization and culture in the context of the philosophy of mind and (partially) the neuroscientific paradigm. The authors used a number of theoretical methods: from historical analysis and reconstruction of the phenomenon of philosophy of mind and establishing the role of human subjectivity and "selfhood" in sociopolitical processes, to philosophical reflection and essayistic parascientific author interpretations. The main result is a new view of decentralization in the context of postmodernist consciousness, where the background (postmodern) and sociopolitical result (decentralization) are the synergistic result of human social networks' realization of neurocognitive natural ability to parallel coexistence of personal and social. As a result, the virtual and material manifestations of the globalized informatized post-industrial society, which has received postmodernist experience, have conditioned total decentralization. At the same time, politically administrative is only a partial manifestation of it, while civil society seeks to diversify its needs and ways of solving them as much as possible. The international significance of the article lies in its universality: it complementarily analyzes the neuroscientific, cultural-mystetic, philosophical, social, and political dimensions of a civil postmodern society that seeks maximum decentralization of all superstructures and maximum delegation of managerial functions to its members and groups. The theme of the article highlights the main aspects regarding the impact of the development trends in post-industrial society on the formation of communicative competencies. The aim of the article is to reveal the essence of electronic tutoring and mentoring as one of the important factors in the formation of communicative skills of foreign students. The article identifies the features of the organization of tutoring and mentoring using innovative technologies, the achievements of the information and post-industrial society. Theoretical bases for defining the concept of communicative competence, post-industrial society, electronic tutoring, and mentoring are substantiated. The urgency of the problem lies in the presentation of new psychological and pedagogical approaches, it also lies in the formation of competence in a post-industrial society such as the use of electronic learning tools to increase efficiency, the use of information and communication technologies to develop the competence of students and teachers, and organization of learning based on organizational approach. Methods of analysis and synthesis, research method, and method of content analysis were used to determine the peculiarities of the formation of communicative competence in foreign students in the conditions of electronic tutoring and mentoring. In the course of the study, it was proved that the implementation of theoretically sound conditions of electronic tutoring and mentoring will contribute to the formation of communicative competence among foreign students. Post-industrial society is driving global environmental change, which is a challenge for all generations, current and future. The Anthropocene is the geological epoch in which humans dominate and it is rooted in the past, present, and future. Future sustainability is building on the momentum of the fundamental importance of studying human dynamics and governance of coupled social and ecological systems. In the Anthropocene, social innovation may play a critical role in achieving new pathways to sustainability. This conventional narrative review uses a qualitative analysis anchored in the Grounded Theory Method and a systematic collection and analysis of papers to identify broad types of social innovations. Scientific journal articles published since 2018 were prioritised for inclusion. The six types of social innovation proposed are (a) authentic engagement; (b) artful and engaging communication; (c) urging and compelling change; (d) governance for social-ecological systems; (e) anticipation in governance; and (f) lived experiences and values. The six innovations proposed in this paper can be embedded within, and form part of, social action using a science-society compact for the sustainable development of coasts in the Anthropocene. Natural and cultural heritage co-create the cultural landscape, forming the basis of both local and larger sense of identity. Therefore, protecting and shaping these resources is the major task of currently living generations. It is possible and appropriate to undertake integrated action to protect and shape both natural and cultural heritage together. At the same time, it is important to take into account the specificity of these resources so as to ensure parallel development of both systemic solutions and specialized ones. The Green Ring of Tradition and Culture is a design proposal for a system of attractive spaces surrounding the city centre of Łódź, which takes into account green areas such as parks and allotment gardens, as well as greenery along the rivers Łódka and Jasień, cemeteries and postindustrial buildings: factories, residences and factory owners' villas, and palaces or other culturally significant architectural objects of importance for the history of Łódź. A special place in this layout is held by Piotrkowska Street together with adjacent buildings - a defining component in the layout, which cuts across it and connects all other elements. The Green Ring in Łódź is currently not implmented bu could utilize that utilizes the existing, significant potential of Łódź to create an attractive system of public spaces, thus highlighting and preserving the most valuable elements of the city's cultural and natural heritage. American states have proceeded to adopt legally binding instruments that open important bridges between international human rights law, domestic law of states and the indigenous communities. While these advances have been relevant from a legal point of view, indigenous peoples face threats from invasive extractive activities in their ancestral territories. "e absence of the state in these territories raises the issue of the protection of fundamental rights in contexts where the cultural practices of indigenous peoples depend on the territory and its resources, and which are currently facing the dangers generated by the expansion of the activities of post-industrial societies. Nowadays, interpersonal relationships maintained in real space are declining. Increasing spatial differences reduce the frequency and level of relationships. However, sociality, which is a result of being human, finds its different satisfaction points. One of them is gift shopping. Gifts/gratuity creates a reciprocal function and linkage between people in every social structure. Gifts take place as gifts in studies related to primitive societies. In these works, the gift is not only a refresher of the community bond/linkage but also referred to by names such as the kula rıng and potlatch and it obliges the same value to be given. In today’s societies, the concepts of gift and gift are used interchangeably. Gifts serve as an important tool for maintaining relations between individuals, communities, societies. With virtual and real shopping opportunities in post-industrial societies, gift shopping has accelerated and has become multidimensional. The bond of the gift, which establishes contact between people through real and mostly virtual shopping, offered an alternative for the continuity of social relations. The steep rise of top wages is acknowledged as one of the main drivers of the rise in earnings inequality between workers in most postindustrial labor markets. Yet its relation to gender stratification, in particular to the stagnation in the gender pay gap, has received very little scholarly attention. Using data from the U.S. Current Population Survey, conducted between 1980 and 2017, we provide evidence of the enormous weight that the dynamic at the top of the earnings distribution exerts on the gender pay gap. We also show how this dynamic inhibits the consequences of the countervailing process of gender vertical desegregation. Although developments in gender inequality and in the rise of top wages have drawn extensive scholarly attention and have even penetrated into the public discourse in recent years, the two dimensions of inequality are often perceived as unrelated to one another. Our findings, then, highlight the connection between different forms of inequality--class inequality and gender inequality--a relation that demands much more attention in the new economy. This article examines the contemporary industrial semiotic landscape in the town of Velenje, Slovenia, to determine the (positive or negative) collective imaginaries and discourses about industry in the local community. To this end, the semiotic landscape is mapped for signs and symbols of past and present industry, 33 randomly selected short interviews are conducted to understand the residents' attitudes towards industrial symbols and industrial development in general, and a content analysis of official strategic documents is conducted to determine how industry is represented by officials and whether there are efforts to reimage the town. We found that the industrial past and present are well represented by industrial symbols and are a matter of pride and collective identity for the residents. However, the industrial tradition is hardly represented in official documents: Influenced by the prevailing post-industrial discourses, local authorities have begun to construct new territorial identities in order to increase the town's attractiveness and economic growth. Currently, both ideas seem to coexist in Velenje. We argue that industrial symbols can become a reference point to create an alternative perception of a modern consumer society based on past industrial values, such as collective well-being, solidarity, and equality. Context: the design language was introduced to innovation management as a mechanism to increase creativity, given the predominance of an economic rationality in the innovation theory and practice. Among the design thinking discourse, meaning innovation gained relevance in postindustrial societies. Objective: explore the adherence of Descomplica strategy to the meaning innovation model. Method: an exploratory survey with a qualitative approach and a narrative method was carried out. Results: the data collected shows that the company does have a strategy to build and consolidate an emotional relationship with its users. This emotional connection can be perceived in students' narratives, mainly when they came from public schools. Results also brought evidence that traditional education methods can be threatened by EdTech, mainly in environments where regulatory controls are weak. Conclusion: even though meaning innovation proved to be effective from the point of view of Descomplica's strategy, it cannot be considered a radical innovation in the sense attributed by sustainability-oriented innovation theory. The results reinforce the urgency to discuss, from organizational and educational perspectives, the impacts of online platforms in Brazilian students' perceptions, behaviors, and capabilities development. The aim of the article is to answer one of the most interesting questions in recent decades – is there a transition to a post-industrial society or to the Third and then to the Fourth Industrial Revolution since the 1970s. The approach is politico-economic, because the main role for the development of technologies is played by the state, which tries to secure certain competitive and strategic advantages in the world race. The answer to the above question goes through the discussions on it, and through the analysis of the various concepts and the growing amount of empirical data. Therefore, the article begins with the emergence, development and essence of the concept of post-industrial society. Then the contradictions in the concepts of post-industrial society are considered and it is concluded that the industrial society continues to exist and the share of the industry increases, but the industry itself is increasingly changing and intellectualizing to produce all those industrial goods through which post-industrial technologies related to information, data and knowledge are realized. Attention is then paid to the special case of China, which in the context of the development of postindustrial societies in the West has managed to become industrialized, with the state having a special role in this regard, and this makes it the fastest growing economic power in history. After that the shift of geo-economic balances as a result of China’s rise and the West’s deindustrialization are considered a mistake, which is leading to new attempts at industrialization. The article ends with new industrial policies and the loss of legitimacy of theories of post-industrial society with the unfolding of the Fourth Industrial Revolution after the crisis of 2007-2008. Piraeus, Greece's capital port city since the ancient times, is now home to many abandoned industrial sites that present an opportunity for revitalization through regeneration. This article presents applications of brownfield regeneration policies from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the EU Brodise Program for the case of Piraeus, Greece. The paper includes a theoretical framework that introduces the historical patterns of development through globalization and changing economic systems that led to the presence of brownfield sites around the world. The research utilizes field work at major brownfield sites in Piraeus including site visits and stakeholder interviews, alongside literature review. The ultimate goal of the article is to exemplify areas of proven brownfield regeneration success internationally that can be applied to future policies to support efficient, transparent, and sustainable regeneration projects in Greece. The purpose of the study was to generate legal support of the socio-economic development model genesis in post-industrial society. Fulfillment the research purpose requires solving several problems. Firstly, to determine the characteristics, components and directions of socio-economic development in post-industrial society. Secondly, to carry out a theoretical analysis of the basic concepts of socio-economic development transformation and to evaluate them. Furthermore, to determine the priority concept of transformation accordingly to the post-industrial development requirements. Thirdly, to develop the main directions of legal support for the formation of a model of socio-economic development of post-industrial society. Several environmental and economic crises, as well as the need to reconstruct the theoretical model of socio-economic development in postindustrial society, made the study relevant. Accordingly, the study intended to identify priority fields of legal support of socio-economic development model genesis. Based on the results of the evaluation of the basic concepts of socio-economic development transformation, the model of socio-economic development in post-industrial society was formed. Accordingly, the main directions of legal support of these processes were developed. The study provides a theoretical analysis of the basic concepts and components of the model of transformation of socio-economic development. An algorithm was developed and the evaluation of these concepts and components was performed, which allowed identifying the most optimal concept and relevant components. Based on this analysis, a socioeconomic development model in a post-industrial society has been developed. The directions of legal support of the process of formation of such model were developed. An iconological analysis of images that circulate on the internet is carried out to explore the visual representations built on workplace bullying. The images were captured in two moments through the Google Images search engine, in 2018 and January 2021. The aim of this paper is to provide an approach to the etho-aesthetic dimension in Marcuse's thought. The approach in this paper is built upon the following thesis: the etho-aesthetic dimension consists of the transformation of subjectivity based on artistic sensitivity and critical rationality from which social relations opposed to an advanced industrial society and its one-dimensional man are reconstructed materially and intellectually. The conclusion is the following: a Marcusian critical theory, inherited from Marx and Schiller, would be one capable of analyzing the potential qualitative changes of the subjects and social institutions to generate a higher level of rational development, equitable in the distribution of resources and in the generation of greater spaces of freedom. Cultural heritage and its various elements are an important factor that supports the development of tourism in destinations. One of the key factors of a successful destination is its positive image that allows it to effectively attract visitors. This paper investigates the impact of selected elements of material cultural heritage on the image of four Polish metropolitan destinations. The results indicate thathistorical and cultural heritage plays a more significantrole in creating an attractive image of a city than the city’s contemporary and post-industrial facilities. Cities perceived as historical areconsideredas much more attractive to spend free time in than cities predominantly associated with industrial functions. Moreover, the presented research results confirm a relationship between the familiarity of a destination and its positive image. These features have also been observed in previous studies. This essay considers the emergence of post-industrial China through an examination of the 'social' and 'antisocial' lives of an industrial glass-forming machine. By reviewing the process through which glass-forming technology developed in China, the closure of industrial glass manufacturing in Shanghai, and the adoption of an abandoned glassforming machine by the Shanghai Museum of Glass, the essay reflects on the ways in which one formerly industrial district has begun to negotiate its multiple and sometimes conflicting identities. At the end of the twentieth century, two historical turns of economic inequality happened. Among the developed countries of the Global North, the secular trend of decreasing intra-national inequality turned into its opposite. At about the same time, the long period of global inequality began to bend down, among households as well as among nations, a turn less noticed but more significant than the reduction of extreme poverty in the South. The foundation of the former turn was the beginning of de-industrialization in the North, and the coming of a post-industrial society, very different from the one predicted. The paper analyzes the trigger of the turn and the central dynamics of the new inequality in the rich North, financialization, and the digital revolution. It then tries to answer two questions about the global turn: Was the decline of global inequality causally connected to the increase of Northern intra-national inequality? Will there be a development of industrial societies in the South? The answer to both is no. What lies ahead is more likely a global convergence of intra-national unequalization, albeit with both different and similar dynamics, as the decline of extreme poverty in the South is leading to inequality increases comparable to those of the North. Post-industrialism has no egalitarian dialectic like that of industrial capitalism, but the dynamics of the twenty-first century inequality are likely to be confronted not only with popular protest movements but also with an emergent scholarly and intellectual Egalitarian Enlightenment. In the post-industrial era, the service sector has been expanding and professional tasks have been transformed into service-oriented knowledge work, that is, the business consulting profession. The variety of employment patterns has increased with the deregulation of the labor market, and the employment pattern of those professionals working in the service sector has been characterized by short-term assignments and employment contracts. Despite this contingent employment, the position of the business consulting professionals in the labor market is not necessarily degrading, as they are highly-qualified and competent actors, who can deal with the challenges of the business world. Thus, their position and coping strategies relate not only to the precarious employment but also to their professional, independent work. This articles attempts at firstly looking at Daniel Bell's background and thereafter discussing selected themes of his thoughts regarding to the future society. This will be done by scrutinising his main intellectual works, particularly with regards to his theoretical analysis on the future society, namely the post-industrial society. The books are The Coming of Post-Industrial Society: A Venture in Social Forecasting (1973), The Cultural Contradictions of Capitalism (1976) and The End of ideology (1960). Other materials written by Bell were also consulted wherever related. The methodology applied in this article is content analysis whereby key words related to post-industrial society such as knowledge, change and technology were analysed, criticised and thereafter used to understand the underlying framework or worldview that constitute the scholar's ideas. The discussion on the results of this worldview suggests that the logical movement of history works in its deterministic way in which problems faced by the societies such as injustices, inequalities, poverty, racial divisions and so on will cease away and that the society will move towards a better and more desirable order. It is hoped that this article would contribute significantly to deepening our understanding on the discourse of the postindustrial society, and how it relates to our current context. Gender equality in Azerbaijani society and strengthening women's participation in governance, promoting women as entrepreneurial entities and developing their socio-economic activities are some of the issues covered. When these issues are resolved in combination democratic values and transparency, women will be able to participate in governance. Within the framework of the study, the opportunity to find a place to suit women's abilities, as equal members of the society, was explored. Moreover, the role of women's entrepreneurial activities in society has also been analyzed as well as the relationship between women in postindustrial society, Azerbaijan state policy towards women, what spherical factors prevent the development of women entrepreneurship and the causes of gender-based issue. The ideological tenets of the journalistic professions, historically grounded in the development of modern Western democracies, are increasingly shaken by the changes brought about by a series of technological, economic, and ideological processes challenging the foundations of professionalism. This article considers how these changes influence the way work is performed and experienced in Italy by local journalists, providing professional news coverage and programs to communities at the grassroots level, through both private and public outlets. The findings of qualitative research adopting a neo-institutional approach are presented and discussed following the analytical frame of the special issue, distinguishing three dimensions (within, between, beyond) related to the increased differentiation and the changing role of professionals in post-industrial societies. Conclusions point to the fact that the resulting heterogeneity if accepted without granting the necessary conditions to maintain professional standards, may bring into question the feasibility of a professional community. This article discusses some of Irvine Welsh's novels considering the period of transition from an industrial to a post-industrial society. We focus on the effects of this shift on fictional characters who originate from the working classes in Edinburgh, as represented in Welsh's Glue (2001) and the Trainspotting Novels. As such works cover the period from the early 1970's to the late 2010's, Welsh evidences the move from the traditional working-class ethos, typified by Union solidarity, to the neoliberal culture of entrepreneurship and its negative aspects. Soft power has gained a status that the concept has been perceived as an alternative to hard power. Yet, soft power is not soft enough to become the alternative of the hard one as it is in most cases nothing more than the extension of hard power, namely an industrial advanced capitalist society. The fact that all of the soft powers are also hard powers and there is not any soft power that is not hard power are adequate enough to demonstrate the realities of the international systems of today. Power in international politics is an indivisible concept. There can only be a transformation in the power concept if there is a true transformation in the power centered logic of the international politics, yet currently soft power is not be able to meet the requirements of a true power concept. Research problem introduction. Modern society of highly developed countries, according to some scientists, is at the stage of post-industrial development, the rest are striving to reach this level and are in the process of transformation. The city, as a complex socio-geosystem, which is influenced by a number of external and internal factors, is a dynamic formation, which is characterized by the concepts of development and transformation. For Ukraine, as a part of the European region, the processes of post-industrial transformations are also characteristic. Kharkiv is a typical post-socialist city in the Eastern European region, which seeks post-industrial transformations. The study of post-industrial development factors is an important and relevant step in developing a strategy and planning for urban development, given the uniqueness of each individual city. The study of factors of development of this kind of city, gives the chance of implementation of the received results for implementation at planning of development of other cities. The purpose of this study is to determine the main factors of post-industrial transformation of urban socio-geosystems on the example of Kharkiv. To achieve this purpose, the following research questions were asked: What periods of post-industrial transformation did the city of Kharkiv undergo? What factors and with what force influenced the transformation of the city? Research methods. Multidisciplinary research approach to the study of cities and the peculiarities of their development, functioning and transformation, contributes to the formation of a significant set of interdisciplinary and specifically scientific research methods. Considering the city as a complex sociogeosystem, characterized by a significant set of development indicators, the most effective methods for determining specific factors of its transformation are mathematical and statistical methods, including cluster and factor analysis. Results, Scientific novelty, Practical significance. Cluster analysis, as a grouping tool, allowed to streamline the indicators of socio-economic and spatial development of the city for the study period, and to establish three main stages of post-industrial transition: a period of development at the expense of residual resources (1991-1997); a period of crisis, the beginning of post-industrial transformations, the most striking manifestation of which is the process of deindustrialization (1998-2010); a period of gradual recovery from the economic crisis, the economic situation in the city is stabilizing, some industries are being modernized, activization post-industrial processes like gentrification, revitalization, neo-industrialization, tertialization (2011-2019). Factor analysis allowed to identife three main factors groups transformation of Kharkiv from industrial to post-industrial stages (1991-2019): 1) the structure of labor resources, their social protection and the most important sectors of the tertiary, quaternary and fifth sectors of the economy; 2) demographic development of the city; 3) age structure of the population and the main indicators of economic development. During the period of Ukraine's independence in Kharkiv, as in most powerful industrial cities of the country, transformations of all spheres of their functioning took place. In the period of post-industrial transformations, the combination and interconnection of the triad of these factors is constantly changing, changing the internal structure of the urban socio-geosystem and its appearance. At the same time, the composition and structure of the city's population, the structure of the economy and methods of production are transformed, the sphere of social security of the population and the non-productive sphere comes to the fore, the interaction of the population with the city is transformed. Determining the periods of Kharkiv development and the main factors of influence is an important step for creating and substantiating a comprehensive description of the city in the period of post-industrial transformations, identifying problems and prospects for further development of the city. The issue of gender-based violence, in addition to representing a theme with a strong emotional impact, offers a demonstration of how interpersonal relationships, far from being a merely private fact, are indicative of the cultural structures present in postindustrial societies. This article proposes - also making use of the possibilities offered by the specialized statistical software - the profitable inclusion of the Social Network Analysis in the confines of a sociological paradigm autonomous from a theoretical point of view, according to the line traced by Randall Collins in the 80s, but above all applied to social problems traditionally external to it, such as private violence and gender victimization processes. The pandemic condition, as reported by many commentators and daily reports, worsened borderline situations of domestic violence also due to the co-presence forced by the lockdown, suggesting specialists new ways of research and help strategies for both confirmed and potential victims. In this research note we want to present an investigation model based on the Personal Network Analysis technique in conditions of strong psychological deprivation and intersubjective pressure on women victims of abuse, also referring to a research-intervention carried out in 2019 at Sapienza University of Rome: an in-depth feasibility study conducted with the collaboration of 'Centro Donna Lilith' located in Latina (Lazio, Italy). The artificial intelligence models with machine learning that exhibit the best predictive accuracy, and therefore, the most powerful ones, are, paradoxically, those with the most opaque black-box architectures. At the same time, the unstoppable computerization of advanced industrial societies demands the use of these machines in a growing number of domains. The conjunction of both phenomena gives rise to a control problem on AI that in this paper we analyze by dividing the issue into two. First, we carry out an epistemological examination of the AI's opacity in light of the latest techniques to remedy it. And second, we evaluate the rationality of delegating tasks in opaque agents.
