The aim of the current study was to test the long-term predictive validity of the trans-contextual model in accounting for variance in adolescents’ out-of-school physical activity measured by self-report and accelerometer based-devices over a one-year period. Secondary school students ( N = 265) aged 11 to 15 years completed a three-wave survey on two occasions in time, spanning a one-year interval, measuring perceived autonomy support in physical education (PE), peer and parent autonomy support in leisure-time, autonomous and controlled motivation in PE and leisure-time, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, intention, and out-of-school physical activity both by self-report and accelerometer-based devices. A variance-based structural equation model using residualized change scores revealed that perceived autonomy support from PE teachers predicted autonomous motivation in PE, and autonomous motivation in PE predicted autonomous motivation in leisure-time. In addition, peer and parent autonomy support predicted autonomous motivation in leisure-time. Autonomous motivation in leisure-time indirectly predicted physical activity intention mediated by attitude and perceived behavioural control. Intention predicted self-reported physical activity participation, although the effect was in the opposite direction to our prediction, but not physical activity measured by accelerometer-based devices. Results support some tenets of the trans-contextual model over a one-year time period, particularly the determinants of physical activity intentions. The introduction of COVID-19 restrictions may explain the negative relationship between intention and self-reported physical activity. Further longitudinal studies are needed to verify the results of the current study.

This pilot study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Gamification-based intervention on physical activity levels of High School students. This quasi experimental study was conducted in two federal high schools in Southern Brazil. One class from each school was selected to be either intervention (INT) or control (CON) group. Experiment duration was two weeks, and both groups downloaded My Active Life app. INT group (n = 69) participants received daily app alerts with messages of encouragement to practice physical activity. They also received a score based on the percentage of goal achieved. CON group (n = 35) only had access to total number of steps per day. INT group showed a lower decrease in physical activity at school compared to CON group (p = 0.024). No effect of intervention was observed in physical activity out of school (p = 0.911). Gamification-based intervention prevented a decrease in physical activity at school among male (F = 10.680; p = 0.004), students at first half of high school (F = 12.668; p = 0.002), and adequate body mass index (F = 4.640; p = 0.037), and with lower perception of barriers to physical activity (F = 5.437; p = 0.024). Although we did not observe an increase in physical activity at school, gamification-based intervention may mitigate its decrease among adolescents.

A evasão escolar tem sido um tema recorrente na educação em todos os níveis de ensino. Para combatê-la, muitas instituições têm definido ações e estratégias para promover o acesso e a permanência de estudantes na escola. No Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina (IFSC), com base em seu plano estratégico, foi criada, em 2019, a Comissão de Acompanhamento das Ações de Permanência e Êxito dos Estudantes, do Departamento Acadêmico de Linguagem, Tecnologia, Educação e Ciência, Câmpus Florianópolis. Com a pandemia da covid-19, as ações dessa Comissão voltaram-se exclusivamente para o acompanhamento da participação de estudantes das fases iniciais dos cursos técnicos integrados nas atividades não presenciais (ANPs). Assim, este trabalho objetiva relatar a experiência de atuação da Comissão na assistência aos estudantes com dificuldades de acesso às ANPs, entre 2020 e 2021. As ações da Comissão compreenderam: levantamento de estudantes com dificuldades, contato com esses estudantes e familiares e encaminhamentos para diferentes situações. De 752 estudantes matriculados nessas fases, 49 apresentaram dificuldades, seja por falta de equipamentos e/ou acesso à internet, seja por necessidade de material impresso ou dificuldades mais específicas. Para essas situações, foram realizadas orientações a estudantes/familiares para a obtenção do Auxílio Emergencial de acesso à Internet, campanhas de doação de equipamentos e preparação de material impresso. Apesar de parcialmente efetivas, essas ações reforçam a necessidade de debate e políticas institucionais mais amplas.

This research aimed to examine the enhancement of soft skills in public education in Peru through analysing non-profit organisations’ techniques at the school level. The objectives were (a)To understand how the quality of education in Peruvian public schools assures the development of soft skills, (b)To explore the potential of non-profit organisations in supporting the development of soft skills in public schools. Interviews with three non-profit organisations and a government official, alongside reports, were analysed based on an OECD model. The findings include government initiatives that indirectly develop soft skills, but management issues might lead to teacher-centred rather than student-centred methodologies, deterring skills development. Unfriendly environments characterise vulnerable areas for skills development; non-profits become supportive disruptive spaces to cultivate values, ethics, and skills. The discourse analysis concludes that, despite their small scope, they mainly develop collaboration and task performance skills, impacting career decisions, families and communities. Non-profits employ a playful and concrete methodology that fosters the development of soft skills, but which is difficult to implement in public schools due to a lack of resources and school management. Further research should explore non-profits’ impact on skills development. This study is a pioneer in this field in LATAM.

The main purpose of the study is to analyze the role of public associations in the implementation of out-of-school education. The system of out-of-school education is characterized by the purposeful functioning of teaching, upbringing, development and socialization of the individual in his free time, with its special structures, connections and relationships between elements. Out-of-school education is a systemic object both in its content and in its procedural aspects. The semantic components of out-of-school education are culture, society, nature, people. The procedural components of out-of-school education include the family, educational institutions, libraries, clubs, children's, student and organizations, societies, and the media. As a result, the role of public associations in the implementation of out-of-school education was determined.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related to relapse within six months of cessation of smoking in out-of-school adolescents. Methods: The study included 45 adolescents who applied to the outreaching smoking cessation service provided by Daejeon Tobacco Control Center between July 2015 and March 2017 and maintained the abstinence for four weeks since registering for the service. The data on the participants were collected from the Integrated Information System for Smoking Cessation Services and analyzed using The Kaplan-Meier analysis and the Cox proportional hazard model. Results: Our results indicated that the rate of smoking relapse within six months was 75.6%. The variables related to this relapse were attempts to quit smoking in last one year and frequency of counseling. Adolescents who had previously tried to quit smoking were more likely to relapse than those who had never tried quitting (hazard ratio [HR]=4.24; 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.38-13.02). Additionally, if the number of counseling sessions to quit smoking was nine or more, the likelihood of relapse was reduced as compared to when the sessions were five or less. (HR=0.19; 95% CI=0.06-0.60 for ≥9 vs. ≤5 sessions). Conclusion: Our results indicate that it is necessary to offer continued and consistent counseling, focusing on their confidence in quitting, for out-of-school adolescents to discourage a relapse of smoking.

This paper summarizes the trends in research about student experiences in out-of-school time (OST) in countries of Europe. The analysis is based on a review of the content of research papers published between 1999 and 2019 in about 36 European countries. OST is recognized as an important aspect of students’ educational experiences that deserves increased research attention. A significant portion of students in all countries participate in OST activities either to improve their school performance or to engage in social activities. Under conditions where parents and students believe that the formal school system is weak, the OST educational experiences may be considered to be necessary to make a significant or necessary contribution to a student’s success compared with formal school itself. Because OST activities are undertaken in a free market their form and structure vary because of differences in the countries’ historical development, condition of public education, and the social, economic, cultural, and political factors that influence the educational systems. The analysis presents examples of how in some European countries conceptual models of OST have been expanded, adapted OST practices for regular school systems, and evaluated the outcomes. This review of the definitions of OST, of evaluations of its impact, and of the evidence for its effect on equality of educational opportunity throughout 36 European countries concludes that the studies provide contradictory messages. Greater consistency in conceptual development could be increased over time as researchers across countries review each other’s strategies and share methods and results.

Background Opportunities for physical activity within out of school hours care (OSHC) are not well documented in Australia. This study explored factors associated with children (5–12 years) meeting 30 min of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) while attending OSHC in the afternoon period. Methods A cross-sectional study, conducted in 89 OSHC services in New South Wales, Australia, serving 4,408 children. Each service was visited twice between 2018–2019. Physical activity promotion practices were captured via short interviews and System for Observing Staff Promotion of Physical Activity and Nutrition (SOSPAN). Physical activity spaces was measured (m2) and physical activity of 3,614 child days (42% girls), were collected using Acti-Graph accelerometers. Association between program practices and children accumulation of MVPA was tested using mixed effects logistic regression, adjusted by OSHC service and child. Results Twenty-six percent of children (n = 925) accumulated 30 min or more of MVPA. Factors associated with children reaching MVPA recommendations included: services scheduling greater amounts of child-led free play, both 30–59 min (OR 2.6, 95%CI 1.70, 3.98) and ≥ 60 min (OR 6.4, 95%CI 3.90, 10.49); opportunities for staff-led organised play of ≥ 30 min (OR 2.3, 95%CI 1.47, 3.83); and active games that engaged the majority of children (OR 1.7, 95%CI 1.11, 2.61). Children were less likely to meet MVPA recommendations if services played games with elimination components (OR 0.56, 95%CI 0.37, 0.86). Conclusion Improvements to service-level physical activity promotion practices, specifically the type of physical activity scheduled and the structure of games, may be an effective strategy to increase MVPA of children attending OSHC afterschool in NSW, Australia.

Participation in youth sports can have a positive, lasting impact on a child's general health and physical well-being. Unfortunately, some youth populations are unable to participate and/or reap the benefits of sports because of existing inequities. Youth from lower socioeconomic status and ethnic minority children have been found to participate in sports less. These disparities are unfortunately pervasive and likely the result of multiple barriers, including financial and time constraints, limited resources and the inability to access facilities both in and out of school, and lack of familial support. There also exist inequities with regard to sports injury management, including knowledge, access to athletic trainers, and care. This article provides a review of the numerous disparities and inequities in youth sports. Compiling and understanding these data may help develop a framework to make youth sports more equitable and beneficial for all.

The article highlights the approaches to professional future music teacher training in the institutions of higher pedagogical education to work in out-of-school education institutions. The importance of providing the young generation with general art education and students of pedagogical universities training is emphasized. Emphasis is placed on the expediency of mastering the theoretical foundations of the organization and implementation of musical activities in out-of-school educational institutions in the process of formal education. At the same time, the need to combine such formal education with non-formal art education is highlighted. It is emphasized that in the process of preparing students for future music and pedagogical activities in out-of-school educational institutions, it is valuable to involve students in artistic and pedagogical educational activities in musical artistic and creative groups at higher pedago­gical educational institutions. It is noted that such activities are examples of non-formal art education, and such experience of which s is an essential component of future music teacher training to work in out-of-school education.

Aim: The use of various substances is very common among the populace. These agents are readily abused by adolescents and youths who are introduced to these substances at an early age in life. This thus leads to abuse and misuse that eventually has a catastrophic outcome to the society at large. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of substance use among in-school and out-of-school adolescents; a comparative analysis in Anambra State, Nigeria. Study Design: This was a cross-sectional comparative study. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted in schools, parks and markets of Onitsha municipal area of Anambra State, Nigeria, from September 2019-April 2020. Methodology: A total of 250 in-school and 250 out-of-school adolescents aged 10-19 years, within Onitsha municipal area was sampled through the use of a semi-structured interviewer administered questionnaire, that was adapted from a WHO designed instrument on drug use among non-student youths. Frequency distributions were developed, while associations between variables were tested using t-test, fisher’s test, and chi-square. Results: The results showed that most participants were males with mean ages of both sexes being 16.7 among the in-school and 16.1 in the out-of-school. There was statistically significant difference in alcohol consumption between in-school compared to out-of-school, p=0.001; and cigarette smoking, p=0.001. However, inhalants use was more among in-school compared to out-of-school, though not statistically significant. The overall prevalence of substance use was 58.4%, with 80.4% among the out-of-school compared to 36.4% with the in-school participants. Conclusion: Substance use is common among in-school and out-of-school adolescents. The prevalence of substance use was significantly higher among out-of-school compared to in-school adolescents. Parents should teach their children the dangers of substance abuse while Schools and governments should ensure inclusion of such in the curriculum.

In Pakistan, about 22.8 million children of school going age are out of school which is very alarming situation and second highest number in the World. Major portion of these OOSCs belong to deprived, marginalized community of Pakistan. Although Pakistan has promised under article 25A to educate all the boys and girls age of school going children but this yet not to be meet due to financial constraints. So to fill this gap an alternative comprehensive system is needed. Non Formal Education is recognized and understood as cost effective and flexible system to fill this gap. In context of Pakistan, despite of recognition of NFE, it has not received due attention due to lack political interest. However, in last few years it is seen progress in this sector and a Non Formal Education Policies are developed at province level e.g. Punjab Non Formal Education Policy and Sindh Non Formal Education Policy. The aim of study was to explore the strategies of Non Formal Education for education access to underprivileged community and its effectiveness in Punjab. The research was conducted in 100 NFBE schools in three districts of Punjab. It was a Quantitative survey research to explore the strategies, and impact of NFBE schools on community. Random sampling technique was used to select the sample. Data was collected from officers, teachers, students and their parents. Data was collected through Questionnaires. It was found that NFE system was imparting cost effective, affordable, flexible, inclusive education at door step of deprived and marginalized community. It was recommended to allocate the more funds to scale up NFE system to cater the all OOSC. It was also recommended to amend and implement the Literacy Act 1987.

The article is devoted to the problem of future masters’ professionalism development in the process of practical training in the institutions of out-of-school education. Based on the analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature, the understanding of the concept of professionalism has been clarified, the peculiarities of practice in a multidisciplinary institution of out-of-school education have been revealed, the requirements to the bases of practical training of future masters of education, educational program 011 Educational, pedagogical sciences (Out-of-school education) It has been found out that the future teachers’ practical training acts as an integrating main component of personal and professional development of the specialist, the link between theoretical training and independent work in the establishments and institutions of out-of-school education. Providing performance of various tasks, which include: acquaintance with the general directions of work in a multidisciplinary institution of out-of-school education; creation of an individual educational trajectory of the applicant of out-of-school education according to abilities of talents and gifts of children and youth on the basis of psychological and pedagogical diagnostics; development of curricula, calendar and lesson plans for group and club work, development of scenarios and script plans for collective and mass events, which are included in the annual work plan of the institution of out-of-school education. It has been specified that the professionalism of the future master will be reflected in the following results of practical training: the ability to recognize and take into account the diversity of students, the ability to provide individual support in the educational process; awareness of different contexts in which training, upbringing and development of students of out-of-school education can take place; ability to implement subject-subject interaction with different participants of the educational process at different levels; the ability to contribute to the formation of a general culture of personality, socialization, conscious choice and development of additional educational programs, using a variety of forms, techniques, methods and means of teaching; to master the norms of pedagogical relations in the process of designing and implementing educational activities, search, sharing, application of innovations and creativity in the educational process.

The relevance of this topic is due to the burning issues and challenges of today, namely, a detailed review of the organization and functioning of out-of-school educational institutions during quarantine. Given the fact that currently the entire system of education is undergoing a period of fast adaptation to work in the newly created information educational environment, the system of out-of-school education does not stand aside and quickly progresses its developments in this direction. The article presents the results of the analysis of organization of institutions of out-of-school education during the transition to the provision of educational services using remote technologies in Ukraine under severe quarantine restrictions. The stages passed by all participants of the educational process are clarified and considered in detail, including the mechanisms used by pedagogical workers in establishing communication with pupils, parental community and administration. A number of normative documents was identified as critical for the sphere under consideration, for they regulated the work of out-of-school educational institutions during the period of mass transition to the distance form of providing educational services. The mechanism of realization of the newly introduced legislative documents by out-of-school educational institutions is reviewed. The main digital resources used by out-of-school teachers for the organization of distance learning are highlighted. The issue of organizing the work of the administration for the transition to a remote form of educational services provision is described in detail. The mechanism that provides generalization of information about students’ feedback is analyzed. The work of the psychological service regarding the possible consequences and negative impact of digitalization of learning on the major categories of participants (teachers, students, parents, state officers) is considered and analyzed. The author points out and highlights the positive and negative aspects of the impact of the introduction of distance learning in selectives and creativity clubs on its members and personnel. The current state of readiness of out-of-school educational institutions for work in near-to-critical or crisis-based conditions is generalized and described. A number of identified issues requires further investigation into the possibility of providing educational services by corresponding educational institutions with the help of distance learning technologies and ICTs.

This study utilized the narrative inquiry and phenomenological research design. This inquiry aimed to explore and capture the eidetic life stories and hopes of the Out-of-School Youths. A total of five participants who were selected applying the chain-referral sampling took part in an individual open-ended and in-depth interview. The narratives of the participants were categorized into three. The first category is their life stories during their stay in School. It was noted that four themes emerged in this category, such as (1) struggle to live and to survive, (2) push, pull, and fall out, (3) Bully, bullied: Blended (4) low, lone, and leave. This study also highlighted the life stories of the participants after they dropped out of school. There were two themes generated: (1) Home, Haze, and bored; (2) easy go lucky. Moreover, the study also highlighted the hopes of the participants, and three themes appeared such as (1) hope for education and employment, (2) hope for the revival of their sense of pride and self-esteem, and (3) hope for support and assistance. Likewise, the researchers came up with initiatives to answer the hopes of the participants, to wit: (1) organization of Parent Teachers Association, (2) collaboration with the PSWD, DTI, and TESDA (3) collaborative extension programs between and among the different departments of the university.

Physical activity is influenced by an interplay of time and setting, thus, the role of psychosocial factors on behavior is expected to vary across the day. This cross-sectional study identified the psychosocial correlates of time spent in physical activity during in-school (i.e., 08:00–11:59) and out-of-school (i.e., 12:00–22:00) time segments. The sample consisted of adolescents (7th to 9th grade) of two public schools in Florianópolis, Brazil. Accelerometer measured light-intensity (LPA) and moderate-to-vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) were estimated. Psychosocial correlates of physical activity (i.e., outcome expectations, attitude, self-efficacy, support from parents, and support from peers) were self-reported. Linear mixed models were applied and interaction effects of gender and age were also analyzed. From a total of 194 participants, 138 and 112 provided in-school and out-of-school valid data, respectively. Outcome expectations were associated with out-of-school MVPA (β = 0.18; p = .006). Age interaction effects were observed for the associations between outcome expectations and out-of-school LPA (β = 0.21; p = .009) and between self-efficacy and out-of-school MVPA (β = 0.19; p = .009). In conclusion, psychosocial correlates were positively associated with out-of-school physical activity and the effects varied according to age. No psychosocial correlates were identified for LPA and MVPA performed during schooltime.

This article traces some deficits related to the school dropping out and its essence as well as various personal qualities that can be considered as a prerequisite for the educational activity. The article presents various personal qualities that are associated with a positive attitude towards education and students' assessment of these qualities through the prism of ethnicity. The study shows the pursuit of qualities related to ethics in communication, sociability, autonomy, i.e. areas describing peer interactions and seeking independence from adults, and reducing control. These personal qualities do not depend on ethnicity. Adolescents strive for those qualities that allow them self-regulation, contact skills, and coping with their social world, in which, however, the school has its place.

The article presents an analysis of the actual Soviet practice of out-of-school chemistry education in the early years of the Soviet power and the changes that took place in out-of-school education in the new educational environment under the influence of socio-political factors. A description of the main modernisation processes in the education system as a whole, which influenced the development and improvement of Soviet out-of-school chemistry education in the 1920s, is presented. The main legislative acts and decrees of the Soviet government in the field of out-of-school education in the 1920s, which led to the renewal of the goals and content of additional chemistry education in accordance with the tasks of global polytechnic national education of the people, are considered. At the legislative level, the Soviet power had returned the management of out-of-school education to the People's Commissariat for Education, which contributed to its development and the variety of its directions and forms. The article focuses on the need to carefully study the positive historical experience of organising out-of-school chemistry education in the 1920s in order to identify the directions of its modernisation at the present stage of development of the system of additional education for schoolchildren.

There is a discrepancy between a high inherent value of extracurricular music classes and a low proportion of low-socioeconomic status (SES) male participants. However, evidence on how to match out-of-school music classes to students’ preferences is lacking. Thus, we assessed the attractiveness of different versions of such classes via an experimental video vignette study featuring a 2 × 2-factor (setting × music; each with high vs. low proximity to informal youth culture) between-subjects design with N = 244 students (Grade 5–10). We assessed the intention to participate as criterion, and gender, age, and SES (highest International Socio-Economic Index [HISEI] quartile) as control variables. A hierarchical regression showed a positive effect of music associated with youth culture on intention and no effect of the setting. Female (and older) students displayed higher intention than male (and younger) students. The single effect involving HISEI was a significant interaction of music and SES, which resulted from high-SES adolescents being especially motivated for classes with music associated with youth culture. Thus, to motivate boys and older students in particular, special consideration should be given to the appropriate design and marketing of music classes. However, music close to youth culture might be especially beneficial for adolescents with high rather than low SES.

The purpose of the present study was to examine the extent to which social factors such as gender, age, organized sport participation and family wealth, influence adolescents’ global self-worth and out-of-school physical activity (PA). Seven hundred twenty-one Greek students (346 boys and 375 girls), aged 14 to 16 years old (Mage = 14.97 ± .82 years), voluntarily participated in the present study. Participants completed online questionnaires measuring demographics (gender, age), organized participation in sport clubs, family wealth, global self-worth and out-of-school PA. Results revealed significant differences in adolescents’ self-worth due to age and family wealth, but not due to gender and organized sport participation. Similarly, there were significant differences in out-of-school PA due to gender, age, organized sport participation and family wealth. Age and family wealth were significant predictors of global self-worth, while age and gender were significant predictors of the out-of-school PA. No significant differences emerged in global self-worth between adolescents who reported being more active and those who were less active. These findings are partially in line with previous studies in the area of sport and exercise.

Este texto faz ressoar algumas das discussões produzidas na dissertação de mestrado intitulada Entre infâncias, narrativas e delírios: fora da escola, fora da matemática, fora do risco..., em que nos propusemos produzir narrativas com crianças de 4 e 5 anos que frequentavam a pré-escola, na Educação Infantil. Buscávamos por diálogos com a infância que nos ajudassem a compreender como essas crianças vivenciam/ocupam o espaço da escola e de que modo se relacionam e significam o que chamamos de matemática nesse espaço. Assim, com base em algumas das linhas traçadas nesse trabalho, optamos por discutir, neste espaço, as aproximações entre a pesquisa e as discussões acerca da colonialidade e decolonialidade, em um movimento de formação pela pesquisa junto às crianças e, com isso, também expor aprendimentos que saltam em um contexto de pesquisa dessa natureza, buscando fomentar uma discussão em torno de escolhas teóricas e metodológicas que abrangem demandas acerca da infância, narrativas e pesquisa. Além disso, ao destacar algumas potencialidades de uma pesquisa com crianças, quiçá podemos fazer ecoar possibilidades para uma formação decolonial, entre linhas tortas.

In the article, the work of vocational guidance of students in extracurricular activities is carried out through scientific and social projects, experiments, internships (industrial and social), excursions, clubs, classes in clubs, etc.

Persistence is an important part of student success—both in and out of school. To enhance persistence, we first need to assess it accurately. Digital games can be used as vehicles for measuring and enhancing persistence. The purpose of this study is to test the effects of (a) game-level characteristics (i.e., game mechanics and conceptual difficulty), and (b) student-related characteristics (e.g., students’ incoming knowledge and gender) on persistence in a game called Physics Playground. The participants in this study were 137, eighth and ninth-grade students from a K-12 school in Florida. We used a Hierarchical Linear Modeling Approach (HLM) to analyze the data. The major findings are (1) the degree of difficulty relating to both the physics concepts and game mechanics of each game problem are significant predictors of persistence, with the former being more effective than the latter in predicting students’ persistence, and (2) the number of gold and silver trophies students attained in the game were the only significant student-level predictors of persistence. We conclude by discussing the findings, the implications, limitations, and future research related to this study.

The retrospective analysis of emergence of out-of-school art education of the region is made in the article, organization and role of extracurricular education in Ukraine, its organizers and researchers in this field. The emergence and development of art school of Transcarpathia in the twentieth century led to the formation of new generations of artists and the creation of art education. Out-of-school educational establishments of artistic and aesthetic direction were created for young children of the first school age, the first of which was a studio of fine arts under the direction of Zoltan Bakonii. Following the example of this studio in Transcarpathia in the second half of the twentieth century. opened children's art schools with the department of fine arts in the cities of Mukachevo, Uzhhorod, Khust, Vynohradiv, v.Chynadiyevo, etc., where teachers were mostly graduates of Transcarpathian art educational establishments. The development of art education in Transcarpathia and the extracurricular education of the region was studied by Nebesnyk I. I., Voloshchuk A .V, Mochan T. M, Rosul T. I. In the system of art education in Transcarpathia, founded by Adalbert Erdeli and Joseph Boksai, such well-known teachers as V. Skakandii, I. Masniuk, N. Ponomarenko, M. Syrohman, L. Prymych, V. Manailo, E. Roman, T. Bartosh, H. Homoki, V. Dorosh, A. StasIuk and others studied and worked there. Important role in the development of regional extracurricular education of artistic and aesthetic orientation belongs to such well-known pedagogues-educators as V. Burch and V. Tsibere. They played a major role in the creation of Mukachevo Children's ArtSchool named after M. Munkachi. This school of arts, after Z. Bakonii's studio, is one of the first art schools in the field where fine arts is taught. Later the art departments were based on children's music schools. The fine arts department at Uzhhorod Children's School of Arts started its activity in 1984. Most of the teachers came to Zoltan Bakonii's schools: V. Vovchok, O. Sidoruk, G. Kramarenko, E. Roman (head of the department of fine art) and others. Over 200 students study at the fine arts department of named school. During the 1990s, Transcarpathian extracurricular institutions were stagnant and even have undergone a numerical reduction. Since the beginning of 2000, as a result of the successful management of local administrations and their successful policies, their activities have been normalized and coordinated with the work of leading educational establishments of the art education of the region, in particular the College of Arts named after A. Erdeli and the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. The joint actions and events, workshops for the students of art schools of the region, as well as training courses and seminars for teachers are held. Therefore, in the system of continuous art education (school, college, academy), extra-curricular institutions play an important role. At the School of Arts children learn the basics of fine literacy, academic drawing, painting, composition and get acquainted with examples of the world's best art at the Art history lessons. It is at the School of Arts that the artistic and aesthetic tastes and sensations of beauty are formed, the aesthetic education of young people, its professional orientation, and the formation of artistic environment of the region. In the field of art education, this three-stages system is important, because it solves its sectoral tasks and is a very important link and system of continuous art education in Transcarpathia.

Program wajib belajar sudah dilaksanakan sejak tahun 1994. Namun, rata-rata lama sekolah remaja di Provinsi Papua masih berada di bawah angka nasional dan merupakan rata-rata lama sekolah terendah di Indonesia. Sementara itu, angka melanjutkan ke jenjang SMA/sederajat di Provinsi Papua juga merupakan urutan terendah dan memiliki ketimpangan yang cukup jauh dibandingkan dengan Provinsi Papua Barat. Remaja seharusnya sedang atau sudah menamatkan wajib belajar 12 tahun. Namun, angka melanjutkan ke jenjang SMA/sederajat yang rendah mengindikasikan bahwa banyak remaja yang mengalami putus sekolah. Kejadian putus sekolah pada remaja akan mendorong remaja untuk memasuki pasar kerja lebih awal. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis ketahanan hidup, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui latar belakang sosial-demografi dari remaja yang mengalami putus sekolah. Remaja yang berasal dari rumah tangga berstatus miskin memiliki risiko paling tinggi untuk mengalami putus sekolah. Remaja dengan KRT yang bekerja di sektor informal dan KRT yang tidak bekerja masing-masing memiliki risiko yang lebih tinggi untuk tidak menyelesaikan pendidikan dibandingkan remaja dengan KRT yang bekerja di sektor formal.

A Educação de Jovens e adultos – EJA - é uma modalidade de ensino destinada às pessoas que não tiveram acesso ou interromperam a escolarização na idade apropriada. A seguinte pesquisa buscou identificar e refletir sobre os desafios enfrentados pelos alunos durante o processo escolar e os motivos que contribuem para a evasão da Educação de Jovens e adultos – EJA. A pesquisa foi realizada em três escolas de Ensino Fundamental localizadas no município de Bertioga – SP, que ofertam os primeiros anos do Ensino Fundamental. Para tanto, foram realizadas análises bibliográficas e documentais, e uma pesquisa de campo, qualitativa, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com nove alunos e três docentes da EJA, no município de Bertioga - SP. Após análise dos dados, observou-se que alunos e docentes apontam os mesmos motivos frequentes de evasão. Dentre os motivos da evasão escolar na EJA estão a falta de horário adequado para atendimento da modalidade, cansaço para frequentar as aulas, dificuldades de aprendizagem, distância e dificuldade de acesso no trajeto entre as casas e escolas que ofertam essa modalidade de ensino. O breve diagnóstico tem como objetivo substanciar a elaboração de políticas públicas que fomentem a permanência desses alunos na EJA, buscando a erradicação do analfabetismo no município.

Exclusion in education takes into account “out-of-school children” or “dropouts” as well as all those who have never been to school and also those who are not in a position to attend school regularly. This study was conducted to assess the growth of literacy and enrolment trends of children in school education in terms of gender and caste in India and Punjab with special reference to rural areas. The dropout situation was also studied among children especially girls in school education and reasons for exclusion of children were also explored. Trends in educational indicators were analysed using qualitative as well as quantitative methods. Comparative analysis of literacy rates of India and Punjab revealed that Punjab has a higher literacy rate than India though India and Punjab both show increasing trends in the literacy rate. The number of females was found to be more illiterate than the males in both rural and urban areas of India. One out of every five males and one out of every three females in the country were found to be illiterate. These differentials in literacy rates are comparatively more pronounced in the districts falling in the Malwa belt of Punjab. In terms of enrolment, it was observed that the total enrolment was found to be higher at the primary stage. Enrolment was found to be comparatively lesser at upper primary stage. The secondary level had least enrolment. The percentage of never enrolled children was found to be higher than out of school and dropped-out children. The comparison of figures of Punjab with national figures indicated that the percentage of never enrolled children was higher in Punjab than national figures. Larger number of children from urban areas (4.77%) were found to be out of school than children from rural areas in Punjab. Out of school females (3.25%) were more than males (1.58%) and the percentage was much higher for rural areas than urban areas in Punjab. These values were even more than national figures. Therefore, the study concluded that a large number of girls especially from rural areas are still excluded from school education in Punjab.

Teenage pregnancy is a global problem. It confronted all levels of societal status from low, middle to high-income nations. The current paper provides an exploration of the mothers that come across the stage of teenage pregnancy. This provides narratives of the causes, challenges encountered, and their regrets by mothers that come across teenage pregnancy. A qualitative method of research was used in this study. The narrative - case study design was utilized in this methodology. It includes 10 participants and data were gathered through the use of a semi-structured interview schedule. The following were the study's significant findings: The majority of the participants were at the age of 21 and got pregnant at the age of 16 – 19. Most of them were first-year college students when they got pregnant, unmarried, unemployed, and therefore dependent on their parent's income. Participants’ narratives revealed that they got pregnant at an early age because of the individual willingness of having sex with their boyfriend, socialization with their friends, and family influences. It is significantly shown in their narratives that the challenges they encountered in childbearing/raising were financial shortcomings, acceptance of the community, and their marital relationship. Their pregnancy greatly affects their studies resulting in dropping out of school. Participants confronted emotional stress during their pregnancy. Participants commonly narrated that they regretted most finishing their schooling and seeking a quality job.

The current study is aimed at investigating the problem of students’ social exclusion and dropping out of school as a consequence of COVID-19 pandemic, which abruptly disrupted school life and education in general. The closure of all educational institutions rendered distant learning an unavoidable, yet important, measure taken by education stakeholders around the globe, which, however, raised issues of unequal participation of all students. Benefits largely remain skewed towards those who are considered privileged in all aspects, thus leaving many poor, ethnic and racial minorities, and other marginal groups shortchanged, especially in Greece, which has been tortured by a severe financial crisis since 2011. Groups of Greek students that were already experiencing adverse educational and social conditions due to their families’ socio-economic status or due to specific individual and ethnic characteristics, find themselves unable to keep up with the requirements set by the mode of synchronous teaching and learning, ending up socially and educationally excluded and marginalized and ultimately being prematurely forced to abandon school, thus rising dropping-out rates tremendously. Thus, the various parameters of this multi-faceted problem are examined and social and practical recommendations are made accordingly.
