This paper introduces an evolutionary algorithm for objective functions defined over clouds of points of varying sizes. Such design variables are modeled as uniform discrete measures with finite support and the crossover and mutation operators of the algorithm are defined using the Wasserstein barycenter. We prove that the Wasserstein-based crossover has a contracting property in the sense that the support of the generated measure is included in the closed convex hull of the union of the two parents' supports. We introduce boundary mutations to counteract this contraction. Variants of evolutionary operators based on Wasserstein barycenters are studied. We compare the resulting algorithm to a more classical, sequence-based, evolutionary algorithm on a family of test functions that include a wind-farm layout problem. The results show that Wasserstein-based evolutionary operators better capture the underlying geometrical structures of the considered test functions and outperform a reference evolutionary algorithm in the vast majority of the cases. In this study, some constructions related to interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple sets and score and certainty functions are given. Moreover, optimistic union, pessimistic union, mean union, optimistic intersection, pessimistic intersection and mean intersection operators are defined for interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple set. Thus, interval generalized set-valued neutrosophic quintuple set are effectively used in decision making applications. An example application was realised using these operators and functions. With this application, the use of operators and functions in decision making methods was demonstrated. In addition, it was concluded that similar or different results can be obtained by using different operators. In addition, the importance of choosing the appropriate operator for the problem in decision making applications was mentioned for the decision making process. Purpose – Using real-time support systems may help operators in road construction to improve paving and compaction operations. Nowadays, these systems transform from descriptive to prescriptive systems. Prescriptive or operator guidance systems propose operators actionable compaction strategies and guidance, based on the data collected. It is investigated how these systems mediate the perceptions and actions of operators in road pavement practice. Design/methodology/approach – A case study is conducted on the specific application of an operator guidance system in a road pavement project. In this case study, comprehensive information is presented regarding the process of converting input in the form of data from cameras and sensors into useful output. The ways in which the operator guidance systems translate data into actionable guidance for operators are analyzed from the technological mediation perspective. Findings – Operator guidance systems mediate actions of operators physically, cognitively and contextually. These different types of action mediation are related to preconditions for successful implementation and use of these systems. Coercive interventions only succeed if there is widespread agreement among the operators. Persuasive interventions are most effective when collective and individual interests align. Contextual influence relates to designs of the operator guidance systems that determine human-technology interactions when using them. Originality/value – This is the first study that analyzes the functioning of an operator guidance system using the technological mediation approach. It adds a new perspective on the interaction between this system and its users in road pavement practice.

The World Bank has reported that over one billion individuals have a disability, implying that almost fifteen percent of the global inhabitants are susceptible to undergoing levels of discrimination, especially in employment. This issue may prevail on a manufacturing shop floor, whereby a wave of standardisation dominates such as in the design of shop floor workstations. Despite advances made in the literature, people with disabilities are still siloed from manufacturing. Consequently, the aim of this research work was to analyse literature's current state of the art on the design of workstations for operators with disabilities within the context of Industry 5.0, where sustainability, human-centricity, and resilience are upheld. The study employed a systematic review of 69 publications from Scopus and Google Scholar published between 2013 and 2023, adhering to the updated PRISMA guidelines to identify the major research gaps. The review contributes an understanding of the current academic and industrial limitations such as the absence of social applicability of Industry 4.0 technology, the rift between academic knowhow and industrial implementation, and the lack of alignment with the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Additionally, the review uncovered an absence in work bridging four disciplines together: workstation design, Industry 5.0, sustainability, and disability. An unprecedented understanding of the interdependency between all four disciplines within the remit of smart, sustainable, and inclusive manufacturing workstations is contributed. In this paper, we showed some generalized refinements and reverses of arithmetic-geometric-harmonic means (AM-GM-HM) inequalities due to Sababheh [J. Math. Inequal. 12 (2018), 901–920]. Among other results, it was shown that if $ a, b > 0 $, $ 0 < p\leq t < 1 $ and $ m\in\mathbb{N^{+}} $, then $ \begin{align*} \frac{(a\nabla_{p}b)^{m}-(a!_{p}b)^{m}}{(a\nabla_{ t}b)^{m}-(a!_{ t}b)^{m}}\leq\frac{p(1-p)}{ t(1- t)} \end{align*} $ and $ \begin{align*} \frac{(a\sharp _{p} b)^{m}-(a!_{p}b)^{m}}{(a\sharp _{ t} b)^{m}-(a!_{ t}b)^{m}}\leq\frac{p(1-p)}{ t(1- t)} \end{align*} $ for $ b\geq a $, and the inequalities are reversed for $ b\leq a $. Background: Whilst some research has explored the impact of COVID-19 on gambling behaviour, little is yet known about online search behaviours for gambling during this period. The current study explored gambling-related online searches before, during and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.We also assessed whether search trends were related to Gambling Commission behavioural data over the same period. Methods: Google Trends™ search data, covering thirty months from January 2020 to June 2022, for five gambling activities and five gambling operators were downloaded. Graphical displays of the weekly relative search values over this period were then produced to visualise trends in search terms, with key dates in COVID-19 policy and sporting events highlighted. Cross-correlations between seasonally adjusted monthly search data and behavioural indices were conducted. Results: Sharp increases in internet searches for poker, slots, and bingo were evident during the first lockdown in the UK, with operator searches sharply decreasing over this period. No changes in gambling activity searches were highlighted during subsequent lockdowns, although small increases in operator-based searches were detected. Strong positive correlations were found between search data and industry data for sports betting and poker but not for slots. Conclusions: Google Trends™ data may act as an indicator of population-level gambling behaviour. Substitution of preferred gambling activities for others may have occurred during the first lockdown when opportunities for sports betting were limited. In this work, we extend the theory of differential equations to differential-anti-differential equations and solve several types of such equations. To do this, first, we define a derivative-antiderivative operator with a base function and express derivatives and antiderivatives in the form of this operator. Next, we come to differential-anti-differential equations. To solve some of these equations, first, we investigate the Auxiliary equation(s) and find the roots. Roots are then used in the base function to get the exact solutions of the differential-anti-differential equation. The process can be used to solve several well-known differential equations such as Continuity, Heat, Wave, Laplace, Schrodinger, Euler, Blasius, etc. Our technique shows that every elementary function can solve several types of linear and non-linear ordinary as well as partial differential-anti-differential equations. With the rapid development of civil aviation industry, more and more tasks are required to fuel the aircraft. At present, the aircraft refueling task is mainly assigned to the refueling personnel by the dispatcher of the fuel supplier, one by one, according to the flight refueling information, after receiving the task, the refueling operator drives the refueling vehicle to the aircraft for refueling operation. The realization of electronic, information and big data analysis technology has gradually opened up the information channel of refueling system. Based on a large number of multi-dimensional data, according to the characteristics of aircraft refueling operation, an intelligent dispatching method for aircraft refueling vehicle is provided, which can automatically assign refueling tasks, avoid flight delays and the resulting serious waste of resources and can reduce the workload of the dispatcher. Through the intelligent dispatch, refueling resources can be reasonably allocated to ensure the timely refueling of aircraft and smooth completion of flight support tasks.

For mining processes to operate safely, information about safety is crucial. Numerous authors pay attention to fostering a good safety climate without paying attention to safety communication across organizational structure, which motivates this survey. Accordingly, this paper aims to check the hypothesis whether there is a difference between the attitudes of managers, operators, and auxiliary workers in the mining industry regarding safety communication, since differences on their attitudes about safety communication issues have potential to cause safety performance. A survey of 123 respondents working in different positions in Serbian mining companies, which have evaluated the importance of communication as well as the current state regarding the quality of communication in their organizations, was conducted. After evaluating the data and conducting descriptive statistics, followed by the Mann-Whitney test, it was determined that there are no statistically significant differences in the attitudes of managers, operators, and support staff toward safety communication. This indicates that issues with an organization's safety performance are not brought on by the differences on safety attitudes at different hierarchical levels. Proposal for the future research is to examine other possible causes, such as cognitive biases in risk perception, safety training and education and similar, and to use larger sample that may confirm our hypothesis.

In this work we give an analytical-historical view of the classical theory of singular integrals introduced by A.P. Calderón-A. Zygmund. Emphasis is given to their applications to PDEs and to some projections of the theory.

Purpose – Malaysia is considered to be a relatively young country as compared to other older countries such as Japan, China and Australia in terms of the ageing population. However, until 2035, Malaysia will be in the ageing group countries as 15% of the entire population will be above 60 years of age. This situation is quite alarming as more and more ageing care centres will be required to fulfill the ongoing demands of the ageing population. The elderly care centres in Malaysia are categorised as public (sponsored by the government), private, and charity based that comes under religious centres. Currently, there are about 365 registered elderly care centres working in the main states of Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, two states of the East Malaysia. Due to the importance of ageing population issues, the present study is conducted to explore the demographics facet of Malaysian’s elderly care centres. The main reason behind that lies on the fact that many of these centres are still labelled as being not well equipped and lacking behind in trained staff, equipment and also suffering from severe financial constraints but some still capable of working on a sustainability basis. Design/methodology/approach – Qualitative Research Strategy has been adopted, and 28 centres throughout Malaysia are included in this study. About 18 Operators from different centres and 15 caregivers were interviewed to get the holistic view of ageing care and facilities in their respective centres. Findings – The results highlight that the majority of centres are not receiving any financial help from the government, and few centres are doing small business such as supplying consumable medical and non-medical items and providing renting and rehabilitation centres facilities to sustain. The caregivers are facing issues such as excess workload, less salary, peer conflicts and non-cooperative centre leadership. Originality/value – The present study may help to provide useful information to the policymakers, which enables them to formulate the strategies for ageing care centres in Malaysia. As this study provides insight of components that have an impact on the overall wellbeing of elderly care centres, hence, it could help the care services providers to act as a rising star for Malaysian’s social life comfort.

The automation of our vehicles is an all-present topic with great benefits for society, particularly in the area of public transport and pilot projects of automated shuttle buses are already underway. However, they do not show the full potential of using them as a supplement to public transport, since single-occupancy registration of the vehicles usually allows only slow speeds and also requires a substitute driver on board. In our study, we aim to (1) examine the status quo of its user acceptance and (2) identify the roles of the operators and their tasks in automated urban shuttle buses. We conducted a mixed-method study including in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and in-the-field observations visiting pilot projects of the two most widespread pilot projects on German streets. Our results uncover the multiple roles and tasks the human operators currently assume. Furthermore, we developed design approaches for a digital companion substituting the operator in a long run and evaluated these concepts. A remote operator or a hologram were preferred solutions and we propose further design requirements for such companions. This work helps to understand the individual roles that operators currently occupy and provides a good basis for concepts of technologies that will perform these tasks in the future. The fast evolution of drone technology as well as the ubiquitous adoption from private and commercial users lead to the necessity to introduce new regulations covering the operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in European Member states. The regulations implemented rules for multiple scenarios of normal and complex UAS operations as well as the collection of registration data from remote pilots and Operators. This research project tried for the first time to determine the status quo of the adoption of the novel EASA regulations of drones within the European members states. The aim of the present paper is to investigate the third-order Hankel determinant H3(1) for this function class and obtain the upper bound of the determinant H3(1).

Abstract We prove the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of some generalized contractible operators defined on modular G-metric spaces and also prove the modular G-continuity of such operators. Furthermore, we prove that some generalized weakly compatible contractive operators in modular G-metric spaces have a unique fixed point. Our results extend, generalize, complement and include several known results as special cases.

LetHbe a Complex Hilbert space and B(H) be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. The non-commuting graph of B(H), denoted by Γ(B(H)) is a graph whose vertices are non-scalar bounded operators and two distinct vertices A and B are adjacent if and only if AB ≠ BA. In this paper, we prove the connectivity of Γ(B(H)) for separable and non-separable complex Hilbert spaces. Also we show that the noncommuting graphs of the set of all finite rank operators on H, the set of all compact operators on H, the set of all non-invertible operators on H and the set of all Fredholm operators on H are connected graphs. The exposure of operators, workers, residents and bystanders to pesticides is of high potential concern. Yet, reports on pesticide residues in the environment and near treated fields often spark debates if such findings might indicate a health risk. Although the underlying models are considered conservative, there are only limited field data on systemic exposure available. As a first step to improve the situation, we conducted a scoping review of state-of-the-art pesticide exposure biomonitoring studies in operators, workers, residents or bystanders. In contrast to existing reviews, we focused on target cultures of potential high pesticide exposure such as tree-grown produce, vine or hops. The search was conducted in Web of Science, Scopus and PubMed. Out of 17 eligible articles, a total of 11 studies met our search criteria, and 6 of them quantified the systemic exposure of humans. The analysis revealed that exposure was mainly driven by application of pesticides and reentry work, resulting in a higher exposure of operators and workers than of residents and bystanders. In nearly all cases, the systemic exposure was below the relevant toxicological reference values. The studies were subsequently analyzed to identify key criteria for a reliable design of a biomonitoring study on pesticide exposure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In nine of the last 10 years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has reported that the average funds generated on-farm for farm operators to meet living expenses and debt obligations have been negative. This paper pieces together disparate data to understand why farm operators in the most productive agricultural systems on the planet are systematically losing money. The data-driven narrative we present highlights some troubling trends in US farm operator livelihoods. Though US farms are more productive than ever before, rising input costs, volatile production values, and rising land rents have left farmers with unprecedented levels of farm debt, low on-farm incomes, and high reliance on federal programs. For many US farm operators, the indicators of a “good livelihood”—stability, security, equitable rewards for work—are largely absent. We conclude by proposing three axes of intervention that would help US agriculture better sustain all farmers' livelihoods, a crucial step toward improving overall agricultural sustainability: (1) increase the diversity of people, crops, and cropping systems, (2) improve equity in access to land, support, and capital, and (3) improve the quality, accessibility, and content of data to facilitate monitoring of multiple indicators of agricultural “success.”

Probabilistic linguistic term set solves the problem of probabilistic distribution of linguistic terms. Due to the objective and subjective factors such as the decision makers'experience and preference, the credibility of the linguistic terms is different. However, current studies on PLTSs ignore this difference. In this paper, we first propose a novel concept called Z probabilistic linguistic term set (ZPLTS). As an extension of existing tools, it takes advantage of the fact that Z-number can represent both information and corresponding credibility. At the same time, we discuss the normalization, operational rules, ranking method and distance measure for ZPLTSs. Then, we propose a new weight calculation method, an aggregation-based method and an extended TOPSIS method, and apply them to multi-attribute group decision making in Z probabilistic linguistic environment. In November of 1930 the Peruvian writer Zoila Aurora Cáceres went back to Lima from Europe. This return left a mark in the continuity of the campaign opened years before, when she founded the Collective Peruvian Feminism in 1924 and which resumed with more strength in the context of the Constitutional Assembly of 1931. Against this background, a group of telephone operators found in Caceres a valuable allied for their salary raise and a better working environment complaint. This alliance confirms what Michelle Perrot points it out when referring to the first initiatives of female unionization, organized by women external to laborer world but compromised with the associative movement and recognition. The article presents the strike from the gender approach in the history. Aim:The purpose of this study is to determine the driver behaviors of emergency health personnel driving ambulances.Materials and Methods:This descriptive study included ambulance drivers at the İzmir 112 Emergency Medical Services Department. We prepared a questionnaire consisting of 21 items as the data collection tool in this study. Moreover, we used this questionnaire to evaluate personal information and driver behaviors. Furthermore, a researcher in our study conducted face-to-face interviews to obtain data at the ambulance stations.Results:Altogether, 90.9% of the participants were self-confident in driving ambulances. Moreover, 88.8% of the participants followed traffic rules and 74.1% followed speed limits. In total, 55.2% of the participants previously had traffic accidents, and this ratio was lower in personnel taking 24-hour shifts.Conclusion:We found that ambulance drivers are self-confident and follow speed limits as well as traffic rules. We also determined that approximately half of the participants previously had a traffic accident.

Operators have some risks in getting visual fatigue because they always work in front of the monitor. The objective of this research was to know factors related to the grievance of visual fatigue in computer operator workers. The design of this research was quantitative by using cross-sectional in control room a cement industry in Padang on September 2014 till January 2015. The variables were age, eye-resting, working periods, deviation refraction toward grievance on visual fatigue. The sampling technique is total sampling with the amount of 40 respondents. Data were collected by questionnaire. Data were analyzed in univariate and bivariate with 95%CI(α=0,05). The result of analysis showed 67,5% (>mean=0,44) operators experienced visual fatigue, 52,5% are old (>40 years), 55% working periods >3 years, 82,5% are never eye-resting(≤10 minutes/hours), 52,5% have deviation refraction. Statistical test result visual fatigue relationship with age (p-value=0,025), working periods (p-value=0.263), eye-resting (p-value=0.393), deviation refraction (p-value=0,025). There was a meaningful relation between age and deviation refraction with the grievance of visual fatigue. Hasil uji statistik hubungan kelelahan mata dengan usia (p-value = 0,025), masa kerja (p-value = 0,263), istirahat mata (p-value = 0,393), kelainan refraksi (p-value = 0,025). Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara usia dan kelainan refraksi dengan keluhan kelelahan mata. Ziel des Artikels ist es, die Reden der Präsidenten von Polen und der Ukraine zu analysieren. In dem Beitrag werden die sogenannten argumentativen Operatoren untersucht, die auf der metatextuellen Spra-chebene eine wichtige Überzeugungsfunktion zu realisieren haben. Der Hauptzweck dieser Analyse ist es, die Verwendung argumentativer Operatoren in Bezug auf ihre überzeugenden Eigenschaften in den Neujahrsreden 2018 der beiden Politiker zu vergleichen. Im Einzelnen wurden Textfunktionen und pro-sodische Eigenschaften von Operatoren analysiert. The aim of the article is to analyze the speeches of the presidents of Poland and Ukraine. This article is about specific words, called argumentative operators, which have an important persuasive function at the metatextual level of language. The main purpose of this text is to compare the use of argumentative operators for their persuasive properties in the New Year’s speeches from 2018 of both politicians. The textual functions and prosodic properties of operators have been analyzed.

Using the notion of the generating function of a function, we define an operator with whom we manage to build a large family of numbers and polynomials. This technique permits to give the closed formulae and interesting combinatorial identities. Among others, these polynomials are a generalization of the Fubini numbers and polynomials.

In order to achieve the energy saving and management, this article proposes an IoT-based energy-saving and management system for Telecom operators' remote computer rooms (RCRs). Firstly, a management system based on IoT technology for RCRs is designed. By using technologies such as embedded systems, sensor technology and Java Web, this system realizes equipment management and real-time data visualization of RCRs. Then, a simple but effective air conditioner energy-saving algorithm, called ET algorithm, is developed. Without causing high investment cost, ET algorithm minimizes the energy consumption of air conditioners which accounts for nearly 40% of total consumption, and thus improves the overall energy efficiency of RCRs. Moreover, the proposed system has been implemented at many Telecom operators' RCRs distributed at different regions in Guangdong Province of China, and stably operating for more than two years. Experimental results show that the proposed system not only effectively manages and monitors RCRs, but also achieves 16.64% energy-saving effect.

The article presents an example of the use of functional series for the analysis of nonlinear systems for discrete time signals. The homogeneous operator is defined and it is decomposed into three component operators: the multiplying operator, the convolution operator and the alignment operator. An important case from a practical point of view is considered – a cascade connection of two polynomial systems. A new, binary algorithm for determining the sequence of complex kernels of cascade from two sequences of kernels of component systems is presented. Due to its simplicity, it can be used during iterative processes in the analysis of nonlinear systems (e.g. feedback systems).

The automation of our vehicles is an all-present topic with great benefits for society, particularly in the area of public transport and pilot projects of automated shuttle buses are already underway. However, they do not show the full potential of using them as a supplement to public transport, since single-occupancy registration of the vehicles usually allows only slow speeds and also requires a substitute driver on board. In our study, we aim to (1) examine the status quo of its user acceptance and (2) identify the roles of the operators and their tasks in automated urban shuttle buses. We conducted a mixed-method study including in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and in-the-field observations visiting pilot projects of the two most widespread pilot projects on German streets. Our results uncover the multiple roles and tasks the human operators currently assume. Furthermore, we developed design approaches for a digital companion substituting the operator in a long run and evaluated these concepts. A remote operator or a hologram were preferred solutions and we propose further design requirements for such companions. This work helps to understand the individual roles that operators currently occupy and provides a good basis for concepts of technologies that will perform these tasks in the future.

In the journey towards zero defect manufacturing, digital technologies aiming to improve different aspects of production and quality control will be of high importance. This will not replace existing management approaches such as lean manufacturing, including continuous improvement at the shop-floor level. A single case study is performed, where we have examined various aspects that influence a successful continuous improvement for reducing scrap parts and prevent further propagation in interaction with new zero-defect solutions. The number of parameters of the cardiac rhythm to analyze the health of operators of unmanned aircraft systems has been presented. Three mathematical models of the dynamics of health and functional operators activity made on the basis of parameters of cardiac rhythm were proposed.

Today, the identification of migrants with asylum seekers and the overestimation of inflows – also referred to as the “refugee crisis” – has meant that Italy, as a politically strategic borderland of Europe, coincides with a battleground between sovereign drives and solidarity tensions. If refugees are the most visible object of political contention, governance operated by Ngo’s and, more generally, by civil society, sees women in the front row in a battle aimed at re-humanizing politics. The clash, which lasted for weeks between Captain Rackete of Sea Watch 3 and Minister Salvini, did not only represent a confrontation between reception policies and rejection policies, between the dehumanization of the human and care as a distinguishing element of humanity, but a clash between political power and policy. In the following months, the honorary citizenship conferred on the captain in France reinvigorated the image of a female who pushes against “the established power”, referring to an ancestral symbolic of motherhood that becomes indiscriminate acceptance. The proposed article intends to explore the contribution of the female stakeholder and the elements that connote their gaze towards otherness and the support tools used, in order to focus on its distinguishing features of a female relationship in order to support migrant women victims of proximity violence.
