Objective: The assessment approach is crucial to achieving learning outcomes. Contonuous-Assessment (CA) is one alternative assessment that can be used to increase various skills. This preliminary study aims to: (1) formulate CA and project-based assessment in higher education; (2) describe the lecturer's and students' perception of CA in the postgraduate program; (3) map course assignments within the framework of CA at the postgraduate level. Method: Data was collected through Forum Group Discussions (FGDs) and questionnaires. Data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Results: The results show that the conceptual study of the CA should pay attention to the purposes, improve the learning process, involve students fully and purposefully in their learning, and explore the factors that influence the learning process. The design of CA is realized as demand mapping for each course in the form of products or small projects as part of the stages for completing a thesis/dissertation. Most lecturers and students agree that the lecture process uses a CA design in which each course contributes to achieving the thesis/dissertation. A small number of them disagree and give some suggestions. Novelty: The novelty of this research is to produce a mapping of assignments from all courses, which leads to the completion of writing a thesis/dissertation.

The aim of this research was to produce a web based instrument test to assess higher order thinking skills that are feasible and to describe the profile of students higher order thinking skills. This research using Research and Development (R&D) model from Borg and Gall with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation ). Data collection techniques in this study are the validation method that done by three lecturers from the physic department of State University of Surabaya and test method that done by 29 students of class X MIPA-2 SMA At-Ta’miriyyah using Quizizz. The data that has been collected were analyzed using quantitative decriptive analysis method. The percentage of average theoritical validity in the realms of construction, language, and media is is 97.03% or in the very feasible category. The result of product trials on 29 students analyzed the level of distinguishing power, reliability, and item validity. From the analysis obtained empirical validity as many as 10 questions declared empirically feasible. The appropriate test instrument is then used to describe the profile of students higher order thinking skills abilities. A viable test instrument is then used to describe the student's high-level thinking ability profile. 44.83% of students in very high categories, 13.79% with good categories, 0% with sufficient categories, and 41.38% with less categories. The ability to think high level in the competency of analyzing (C4) is lower at 67.49% compared to the evaluating competency (C5) of 80.46%.

This study aims to examine the concept of the nature of science (NOS) and attitudes towards teaching the NOS. The research used the View on Science Education (VOSE) instrument that was developed by Chen (valid and reliable) which online distributed to students of Physics Education Program from Surabaya State University and IKIP PGRI Pontianak, as well as students of Science Program from IAIN Ponorogo. The survey research method was conducted to determine the profile of students’ views on the NOS and science education. Respondents who filled out the research questionnaire were 102 students. Based on the survey results, the VOSE profile was obtained that the Science-Physics students had difficulty conceptualizing the general picture of VOSE because in some aspects of NOS it appeared that students experienced confusion.Science-Physics students have a positive attitude towards teaching NOS in terms of tentativeness, aspect of the nature of observation, as well as aspect of theory and law.However, Science-Physics students have negative attitudes towards teaching NOS in the aspect of the scientific method. Thus, the implication of this research requires that Science-Physics students learn and further research about the concept of NOS in order to have a correct understanding. Guided Inquiry is one of the learning models that often used in research into the application of learning models in physics learning. This study aims to analyse the learning process with the Guided Inquiry model and its effect on increasing the students’ competence and skills from previous studies. This research method uses meta-analysis with stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The secondary data used, that is, data collected indirectly on the object studied in the form of 20 national and international journal articles. The first step in this research is to collects journals, selection 20 journals with the same research design, creates a visualisation in VOSviewer software, and calculates the effect size of the research results. The meta-analysis topic discusses in the research is about to improve students' science skills, school level, subject matter and then the media used. The results of the study state that learning physics using Guided Inquiry model can improve the scientific literacy competencies, critical-thinking skills, and students learning outcomes that measured separately (moderate effect) and simultaneously (modest effect). Another results show that Guided Inquiry model recommended for students that have higher-order-thinking skills, apply with real learning-media, and used for the investigated characteristic content-material. This paper aims to analyse the research trend of erbium-doped tellurite glasses. To this aim, this paper applied bibliometric analysis. The comprehensive research document on the topic of erbium-doped tellurite glasses in the Scopus database is 695 documents. The result revealed that scientific publication on erbium-doped tellurite glasses has been increasing. China contributed the most documents on erbium-doped tellurite glasses. The visualization of the research trend on erbium-doped tellurite glasses assisted with VOSviewer software and resulted in four primary clusters: (1) the red cluster show the keywords about the synthesized and fabrication, (2) the blue cluster show the keywords about the characterization, (3) the green cluster show the user or the application of the glass with each characteristic of materials, (4) the yellow cluster show the way to analyse energy based on the parameters owned by erbium-doped tellurite glasses. The research findings are the networking of the keywords on the research of erbium doped tellurite glasses in all clusters. It means that this research is comprehend knowledge and need to be more investigate to further research.

The aim of this paper is to review the optical properties of tellurite glasses doped by erbium and describe their bibliometric study about it. The research documents on of optical properties of tellurite glasses doped by erbium in the Scopus database are 115, start from 1999 until now. The visualization of the research assisted by VOSviewer software. There are three clusters: (1) red cluster for the optical properties begin from the fabrication process until the characterization of glasses based on the geometrical optics phenomena, (2) green cluster for the emission spectra until the analysis using McCumbers Theory, and (3) erbium-doped tellurite glasses optical properties based on energy transfer and XRD analysis on the blue cluster. Based on the Scopus documents, not too many researchers are concerned with researching erbium-doped tellurite glasses, never more than 12 documents per year. However, the researchers are consistent to explore further exploring the characteristics of the optical properties of glass exposed to erbium ion for laser applications.The research funding shows that the tellurite glasses doped by erbium are being developed for laser applications.

Analisis tren perkembangan penelitian pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM pada tahun 2011-2021 dengan menggunakan metode bibliometrik bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan, (1) perkembangan publikasi ditinjau dari jumlah, tipe dan bahasa;, (2) top sepuluh publikasi berdasarkan negara, institusi dan peneliti di dunia dan Negara Indonesia;, (3) media ilmiah dan subjek publikasi ilmiah;, (4) visualisasi VOSviewer perkembangan publikasi;, dan (5) visualisasi VOSviewer perkembangan publikasi berdasarkan peneliti. Pengumpulan data melalui penelusuran di Scopus dengan kategori artikel, abstrak dan kata kunci pada tahun 2011-2021. Database dianalisis menggunakan software VOSviewer dan Microsoft Excel 2010. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui tipe dokumen publikasi berupa conference proceeding, jurnal, buku series dan buku dengan penelitian tertinggi pada tahun 2020. Negara yang banyak mempublikasikan penelitian pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM adalah United States, dan Universitas Negeri Malang menduduki tingkat pertama yang aktif dalam mengulas pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM tahun 2011-2021. Social sciences adalah subjek yang banyak diulas dan Journal of Physics Conference Series masuk dalam prosiding yang aktif dalam mempublikasikan pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM. Pada visualisasi VOSviewer publikasi pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM terbukti dapat mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21. Namun, belum ada peneliti yang mengkaji keterampilan cross-cultural understanding, communication dan career & learning self-reliance dalam pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM. Selain itu, visualisasi VOSviewer berdasarkan pengarang ditemukan 23 klaster. Berdasarkan temuan ini, penelitian pembelajaran fisika berbasis STEM direkomendasikan untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut, terutama yang berkaitan dengan keterampilan cross-cultural understanding, communication, dan career & learning self-reliance. Trend analysis of the STEM-based development of physics learning research in 2011-2021 using a bibliometric method to describe (1) Publication growth in terms of quantity, type, and language; (2) Country, institution, and author rankings of top ten publications; (3) core journals and scientific publication subjects, (4) VOSviewer visualization of publication developments; (5) Researcher-driven visualization of VOSviewer publication developments. We used the Scopus database to collect articles, abstracts, and keywords in 2011-2021. VOSviewer software and Microsoft Excel 2010 were used to analyze the database. Research results, conference proceedings, journals, book series, and books will have the highest research in 2020. The United States and state universities are frequent publishers of STEM-based physics learning studies. Malang achieved the status of a first-level research institution. Social science`s subject is often reviewed, and the Journal of Physics Conference Series`s included in a scientific media that is active in publishing STEM-based physics learning. In the VOSviewer visualization of development, STEM-based physics learning proves able to develop 21st-century skills. However, in STEM-based physics learning, no studies have been done on cross-cultural comprehension, communication, and career and learning self-reliance; A VOSviewer graphic created by the author also detected 23 clusters. Based on these findings, STEM-based physics learning research is recommended to be further developed, especially those related to cross-cultural understanding, communication, and career & learning self-reliance skills.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Discovery Learning learning model on physics learning which is reviewed based on all verified articles, education level, research results or response variables, media used, and learning materials. The research method used is meta-analysis. The flow of the meta-analysis research is the first to determine the research topic, the second to determine the criteria for selecting the data, the third to search for the data, the fourth to classify the data information, and finally to analyze and conclude. The data collected is secondary data derived from previous research in the form of 22 scientific publication articles. The data analysis technique uses effect size values. The results of this meta-analysis obtained an average effect size value of 0.852. The application of Discovery Learning in learning physics has a big effect when applied at the high school level and can improve science process skills in students. Discovery Learning has a big influence on the kinetic theory of gases with rocky virtual lab learning media.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil identifikasi pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru pada topik Teori Kinetik Gas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode eksplorasi untuk memperoleh hasil identifikasi pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru Fisika pada materi teori kinetik gas. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berbentuk three-tier, kombinasi jawaban dikategorikan menjadi paham konsep, kurang paham konsep, tidak paham konsep, menebak, dan miskonsepsi. Hasil jawaban mahasiswa calon guru Fisika dikategorikan berdasarkan kombinasi jawaban dan dideskripsikan hasil temuannya. Secara umum, banyak mahasiswa calon guru Fisika yang paham konsep teori kinetik gas, namun masih ada yang mengalami miskonsepsi. Miskonsepsi paling banyak dialami mahasiswa calon guru Fisika pada sub topik persamaan keadaan gas.
