Background: Bullying among adolescences is known as a public health abnormality and studying the prevalence of bullying behaviors using different methods of data gathering can help researchers in surveillance and planning preventions. Objectives: The objective of this study was to compare the prevalence of perpetration and victimization of bullying reported by self-report, peer-report, and principle-report. Methods: In this cross-sectional study that was conducted in 2017 - 2018, a total of 1,540 students from 42 schools throughout Mazandaran province completed self- and peer-report questionnaires and 42 principals of 42 schools completed a principal-report questionnaire. The chi-square test was used to compare the prevalence of victimization and perpetration of bullying with self-report, peer-report, and principal-report methods across gender, school types and grade levels. Results: The prevalence of bullies and victims in self-, peer-, and principal-report methods were different (20.2% as victim and 7.8% as a bully for self-report, 9.4% as victim and 8.9% as a bully for peer-report, and 4.3% as victim and 3.1% as a bully for principal-report). Conclusions: This study showed the discrepancy in the prevalence of perpetration and victimization of bullying reported in three measurement methods (self-, peer-, and principal-report) in Iranian schools and suggests the use of multiple assessment methods for bullying behaviors.

Chronic wounds reduce patient's quality of life by complications such as pain, secretions, and reduction of movement and impose large costs to health system. Thus, looking for treatment methods with higher success and less complications seems to be necessary. In Persian medicine, a variety of specific nutrients and medicinal plants have been recommended for chronic wounds. The aim of present study is to scientifically evaluate the nutrients and medicinal plants claimed to be effective for chronic wounds in Persian medicine. Nutrients and medicinal plants recommended for chronic wounds in Persian medicine have been extracted from corresponding literatures. The obtained items were individually searched in electronic databases to obtain any in vitro, animal, or clinical evidence of their efficacy and possible underlying mechanisms. The treatment of chronic wounds in Persian medicine consists of three steps .At first step some special foods like egg yolk and fig with special characteristics such as hematopoietic effect and antimicrobial activity are recommended. Administration of natural remedies in order to reduce internal inflammation and improve wound healing process such as Crocus sativus and Aloe vera consists of the second step. Finally the third step includes the use of topical natural agents that affects various stages of wound healing and can complete the wound healing process. According to Persian medicine, administration nutrients and medicinal plants is prior to topical treatments for management of chronic wounds. This strategy provides a new approach for management of chronic wounds and seems to be more useful than conventional treatment which is mostly focused on topical treatment

The aim of this study was to compare serum and saliva VEGF among patients with OLP, oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and a healthy control group. Oral lichen planus (OLP) is classified as a potential malignant disorder, and epidermal growth factor (EGF) may play a key role in cancer development. The aim of this study was to compare serum and saliva EGF among patients with OLP and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). A cross-sectional study was performed on 27 patients with OLP (10 reticular and 17 atrophic-erosive forms), 27 patients with OSCC and 27 healthy control group. The study was conducted at the Cancer Department, Clinic of Oral Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. The serum and saliva EGF were assayed by ELISA method. Statistical analysis of ANOVA was used. The mean serum EGF in OLP and OSCC patients was significantly lower compared to healthy control group (P < 0.05), but no significant difference was observed between OLP and OSCC patients. There was no significant difference in mean salivary EGF among groups. As serum EGF levels appear to be statistically similar in OLP and OSCC, it seems that EGF might play a role in the pathogenesis of OLP and its cancerization.
