How to enhance the desired signal with low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is a difficult problem in the estimation process of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of the target scattering wave signal. In this paper, the feasibility of spatial spectrum estimation in the Range-Doppler (RD) domain is analyzed in principle, and the SNR gain expression of weak scattering wave signal is derived when constructing multi-snapshots virtual array data. On this basis, the mutual eigenvector singular value decomposition (MESVD) method based on RD domain mode excitation is proposed, which can robustly and effectively estimate the direction of the coherent weak signals. Simulation experiments verify that the RD domain spectral estimation method has the ability to simultaneously obtain the direction of multiple weak target scattering waves, and the direction-finding accuracy can reach the Cramer–Rao bound (CRB) of conventional spectral estimation method. The results of Monte Carlo experiments show that the root-mean-square-error (RMSE) of azimuth estimation of RD domain spatial spectrum estimation method is 5.76° lower than that of a conventional multiple signal classification (MUSIC) method. In addition, the practicability of the proposed method is demonstrated by comparing the DOA estimation results of a set of real data with Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data. Zygotic genome activation (ZGA) is a pivotal event in mammalian embryogenesis, marking the transition from maternal to zygotic control of development. During the ZGA process that is characterized by the intricate cascade of gene expression, who tipped the first domino in a meticulously arranged sequence is a subject of paramount interest. Recently, Dux, Obox and Nr5a2 were identified as pioneer transcription factors that reside at the top of transcriptional hierarchy. Through co-option of retrotransposon elements as hubs for transcriptional activation, these pioneer transcription factors rewire the gene regulatory network, thus initiating ZGA. In this review, we provide a snapshot of the mechanisms underlying the functions of these pioneer transcription factors. We propose that ZGA is the starting point where the embryo's own genome begins to influence development trajectory, therefore in-depth dissecting the functions of pioneer transcription factors during ZGA will form a cornerstone of our understanding for early embryonic development, which will pave the way for advancing our grasp of mammalian developmental biology and optimizing in vitro production (IVP) techniques. After exposure to cold stress, animals enhance the production of beige adipocytes and expedite thermogenesis, leading to improved metabolic health. Although brown adipose tissue in rodents is primarily induced by β3-adrenergic receptor (ADRB3) stimulation, the activation of major β-adrenergic receptors (ADRBs) in pigs has been a topic of debate. To address this, we developed overexpression vectors for ADRB1, ADRB2, and ADRB3 and silenced the expression of these receptors to observe their effects on the adipogenic differentiation stages of porcine preadipocytes. Our investigation revealed that cold stress triggers the transformation of subcutaneous white adipose tissue to beige adipose tissue in pigs by modulating adrenergic receptor levels. Meanwhile, we found that ADRB3 promotes the transformation of white adipocytes into beige adipocytes. Notably, ADRB3 enhances the expression of beige adipose tissue marker genes, consequently influencing cellular respiration and metabolism by regulating lipolysis and mitochondrial expression. Angiosperms (flowering plants) are by far the most diverse land plant group with over 300,000 species. The sudden appearance of diverse angiosperms in the fossil record was referred to by Darwin as the "abominable mystery," hence contributing to the heightened interest in angiosperm evolution. Angiosperms display wide ranges of morphological, physiological, and ecological characters, some of which have probably influenced their species richness. The evolutionary analyses of these characteristics help to address questions of angiosperm diversification and require well resolved phylogeny. Following the great successes of phylogenetic analyses using plastid sequences, dozens to thousands of nuclear genes from next‐generation sequencing have been used in angiosperm phylogenomic analyses, providing well resolved phylogenies and new insights into the evolution of angiosperms. In this review we focus on recent nuclear phylogenomic analyses of large angiosperm clades, orders, families, and subdivisions of some families and provide a summarized Nuclear Phylogenetic Tree of Angiosperm Families. The newly established nuclear phylogenetic relationships are highlighted and compared with previous phylogenetic results. The sequenced genomes of Amborella, Nymphaea, Chloranthus, Ceratophyllum, and species of monocots, Magnoliids, and basal eudicots, have facilitated the phylogenomics of relationships among five major angiosperms clades. All but one of the 64 angiosperm orders were included in nuclear phylogenomics with well resolved relationships except the placements of several orders. Most families have been included with robust and highly supported placements, especially for relationships within several large and important orders and families. Additionally, we examine the divergence time estimation and biogeographic analyses of angiosperm on the basis of the nuclear phylogenomic frameworks and discuss the differences compared with previous analyses. Furthermore, we discuss the implications of nuclear phylogenomic analyses on ancestral reconstruction of morphological, physiological, and ecological characters of angiosperm groups, limitations of current nuclear phylogenomic studies, and the taxa that require future attention. Metal oxide semiconductors (MOSs) hold great promise for electronic devices such as gas sensors. The utilization of ZnO as a conductometric gas sensor material can be traced back to its early stages; however, its application has primarily been limited to high-temperature environments. A gas sensor based on highly porous and interconnected 3D networks of ZnO tetrapod (ZnO-T) micro-nano structures was fabricated via an easy chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. Homemade instruments were utilized to evaluate the gas-sensing of the sample at room temperature. It exhibited good gas-sensing at room temperature, particularly with a response of up to 338.80% toward 1600 ppm ethanol, while also demonstrating remarkable repeatability, stability, and selectivity. Moreover, the unique gas-sensing properties of ZnO-T at room temperature can be reasonably explained by considering the effect of van der Waals forces in physical adsorption and the synergistic effect of carrier concentration and mobility. Multiplicity fluctuations play a crucial role in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In this work, we explore how the multiplicity fluctuations can be effectively suppressed in the measurement of particle correlations. In particular, through proper normalization, particle correlations can be evaluated in a manner irrelevant to multiplicity. When the multiplicity fluctuations are adequately extracted, Monte Carlo simulations show that the remaining correlations possess distinct features buried in the otherwise overwhelming fluctuations. Moreover, we argue that such a normalization scheme naturally agrees with the multi-particle correlator, which can be evaluated using the Q-vectors. With bacterial cellulose (BC) as the skeleton, bimetallic CoZn-MOF (bi-MOF) was integrated into BC networks through an in situ growth approach. After carbonization at 600 °C, a highly porous, lightweight, conductive, compressible, and hydrophobic aerogel was obtained. Characterization results revealed that the MOF-derived magnetic Co/ZnO species are inlaid in the carbon matrix and dispersed uniformly. As-prepared composite aerogels were investigated for electromagnetic wave absorption. The optimized CZn-2 sample presented a total shielding effectiveness (SE T) of 46.5 dB (X band, 8.2–12.4 GHz) at a thickness of 3 mm. The absorption shielding effectiveness (SE A) and the absorption proportion were determined to be 45.9 dB and 98.7%, respectively. The superior performance was attributed to the synergy of the conduction loss and magnetic loss, as well as the unique porous structure of aerogel. The hybrid aerogel also had an efficient electrothermal response, enabling its normal function in cold conditions. Background: The role of chemoradiotherapy in unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer is still unclear. Methods: Data from patients with unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program database. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted to identify the independent prognostic factors of survival. Propensity score matching was carried out to minimize the interference of confounding factors. Subgroup analysis was performed to screen the characteristics of patients who would benefit from chemoradiotherapy. Results: A total of 5002 patients with unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer were included. Among them, 2423 (48.4%) received chemotherapy, and 2579 (51.6%) received chemoradiotherapy. The median overall survival of all patients was 11 months. Multivariate Cox analysis showed that age (p < 0.001), marital status (p < 0.001), tumor size (p = 0.001), N stage (p = 0.015) and radiotherapy (p < 0.001) were independent prognostic factors of survival. Both before (HR, 0.817; 95% CI, 0.769–0.868; p < 0.001) and after (HR, 0.904; 95% CI, 0.876–0.933; p < 0.001) propensity score matching, chemoradiotherapy significantly improved the median overall survival of patients from 10 to 12 months. Subgroup analysis showed that chemoradiotherapy was significantly associated with improved survival regardless of sex, primary site or N stage. In addition, the following subgroups all significantly benefited from chemoradiotherapy: age ≥ 50 years, not divorced, grade 2–4, tumor size > 2 cm, adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenocarcinoma and white race. The Skutterudites CoSb3 material has been the focus of research for the conversion applications of waste heat to electricity due to its ability to accommodate a large variety of ions in the cages that have been proven effective in improving the thermoelectric performance. Although the co-doped CoSb3 bulk materials have attracted increasing attention and have been widely studied, co-doped CoSb3 thin films have been rarely reported. In this work, Ag and Ti were co-doped into CoSb3 thin films via a facile in situ growth method, and the influence of doping content in the thermoelectric properties was investigated. The results show that all the Ag and Ti co-doped CoSb3 thin films contain a pure well-crystallized CoSb3 phase. Compared to the un-doped thin film, the co-doped samples show simultaneous increase in the Seebeck coefficient and the electrical conductivity, leading to a distinctly enhanced power factor. The high power factor value can reach ~0.31 mWm−1K−2 at 623 K after appropriate co-doping, which is two times the value of the un-doped thin film we have been obtained. All the results show that the co-doping is efficient in optimizing the performance of the CoSb3 thin films; the key point is to control the doping element content so as to obtain high thermoelectric properties. Link prediction aims at predicting missing or potential links based on the known information of complex networks. Most existing methods focus on pairwise low-order relationships while ignoring the high-order interaction and the rich attribute information of entities in the actual network, leading to the low performance of the model in link prediction. To mine the cross-modality interactions between the high-order structure and attributes of the network, this paper proposes a hypernetwork link prediction method for fusion topology and attributes (TA-HLP). Firstly, a dual channel coder is employed for jointly learning the structural features and attribute features of nodes. In structural encoding, a node-level attention mechanism is designed to aggregate neighbor information to learn structural patterns effectively. In attribute encoding, the hypergraph is used to refine the attribute features. The high-order relationship between nodes and attributes is modeled based on the node-attribute-node feature update, which preserves the semantic information jointly reflected by nodes and attributes. Moreover, in the joint embedding, a hyperedge-level attention mechanism is introduced to capture nodes with different importance in the hyperedge. We explore the quasiparticle model at the finite chemical potential related to Ru-Keng Su's distinguished contributions to the topic. In addition, we discuss the recent developments in the model, and in particular, one argues that the effective mass of the quasiparticle might attain a specific form as a function of momentum, in addition to its dependence on the temperature and chemical potential. Unlike the approaches based on the properties of underlying symmetry or the renormalization group, the momentum dependence emerges as a special solution to an integro-differential equation resulting from the underlying thermodynamic consistency. Moreover, this special solution to the problem is shown to be more general than previously explored in the literature. Instead of fitting to the lattice QCD data at the vanishing chemical potential, in this work, we adopt a "bottom-up" approach by assuming some analytic ansatzes that are manifestly thermodynamically consistent. Through the interaction of Higgs with heavy quarks in standard model, we have systematically studied and predicted the production of excited doubly heavy baryons based on non-relativistic QCD theory. The decay widths, differential distributions, and major theoretical uncertainties of the excited doubly heavy baryons via the process H → ⟨ Q Q ′ ⟩ [ n ] → Ξ Q Q ′ + Q ′ ¯ + Q ¯ are discussed in detail. The spin and color quantum number of the intermediate P-wave diquark state ⟨ Q Q ′ ⟩ [ n ] can be ⟨ c c ⟩ [ 1 P 1 ] 3 ¯ , ⟨ c c ⟩ [ 3 P J ] 6 , ⟨ b c ⟩ [ 1 P 1 ] 3 ¯ / 6 , ⟨ b c ⟩ [ 3 P J ] 3 ¯ / 6 , ⟨ b b ⟩ [ 1 P 1 ] 3 ¯ and ⟨ b b ⟩ [ 3 P J ] 6 , with J = 0 , 1 , 2 . The contributions from all summed P-wave states can be about 3.05 % , 3.23 % and 2.19 % of the S-wave states for the production of Ξ cc , Ξ bc and Ξ bb , accordingly. Therefore, there will be about 0.41 × 10 4 events of Ξ cc , 6.35 × 10 4 events of Ξ bc and 0.28 × 10 4 events of Ξ bb produced per year at the HL-LHC, and a smaller number of events would be produced at the CEPC or ILC but with a cleaner background to be measured by the experiments. The measurement of a time-varying magnetic field is different from a constant magnetic field, due to its field intensity variation with time. Usually, the time-varying magnetic field measurement converts the solution of the magnetic induction intensity into the calculation of the induced electromotive force (EMF); then, the magnetic induction intensity is obtained by the time integration of the EMF, but the process is vulnerable to external interference. In this paper, a non-steady state nuclear magnetic resonance (NSS-NMR) scheme for the measurement of a time-varying magnetic field is proposed. In a time-varying magnetic field environment, an RF excitation signal with a certain frequency bandwidth is applied to excite the nuclear spin system. The NSS-NMR signal, which varies with time in the frequency range corresponding to the frequency bandwidth of the RF excitation, could finally be obtained after a series of processing of the probe output signal. During the NSS-NMR experiment, an orthogonal dual-coil probe is adopted to synchronously generate the RF excitation and induce the probe output signal. Moreover, a directional coupler that utilized in the experiment outputs a reference signal from the coupling port for the subsequent signal processing. The experimental results show that the weak NSS-NMR signal is indeed observed. The longitudinal time-varying magnetic field ranges from 0.576 T to 0.582 T, which is inverted by the Larmor precession relationship, have been successfully detected based on the so-called NSS-NMR effect. In this work, the atomic level doping of Sn into Ga2O3 films was successfully deposited by using a plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition method. Here, we systematically studied the changes in the chemical state, microstructure evolution, optical properties, energy band alignment, and electrical properties for various configurations of the Sn-doped Ga2O3 films. The results indicated that all the films have high transparency with an average transmittance of above 90% over ultraviolet and visible light wavelengths. X-ray reflectivity and spectroscopic ellipsometry measurement indicated that the Sn doping level affects the density, refractive index, and extinction coefficient. In particular, the chemical microstructure and energy band structure for the Sn-doped Ga2O3 films were analyzed and discussed in detail. With an increase in the Sn content, the ratio of Sn–O bonding increases, but by contrast, the proportion of the oxygen vacancies decreases. The reduction in the oxygen vacancy content leads to an increase in the valence band maximum, but the energy bandgap decreases from 4.73 to 4.31 eV. Moreover, with the increase in Sn content, the breakdown mode transformed the hard breakdown into the soft breakdown. The C-V characteristics proved that the Sn-doped Ga2O3 films have large permittivity. These studies offer a foundation and a systematical analysis for assisting the design and application of Ga2O3 film-based transparent devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

After fertilization, the zygote genome undergoes dramatic structural reorganization to ensure the establishment of totipotency, and then the totipotent potential of the zygote or 2-cell-stage embryo progressively declines. However, cellular potency is not always a one-way street. Specifically, a small number of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) occasionally overcome epigenetic barriers and transiently convert to a totipotent status. Despite the significant potential of the somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) technique, the establishment of totipotency is often deficient in cloned embryos. Because of this phenomenon, the question arises as to whether strategies attempting to induce 2-cell-like cells (2CLCs) can provide practical applications, such as reprogramming of somatic cell nuclei. Inspired by strategies that convert ESCs into 2CLCs, we hypothesized that there will be a similar pathway by which cloned embryos can establish totipotent status after SCNT. In this review, we provide a snapshot of the practical strategies utilized to induce 2CLCs during investigations of the development of cloned embryos. The 2CLCs have similar transcriptome and chromatin features to that of 2-cell-stage embryos, and we propose that 2CLCs, already a valuable in vitro model for dissecting totipotency, will provide new opportunities to improve SCNT efficiency. Right ventricular (RV) failure determines the prognosis in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), but the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Growing evidence has shown that microRNAs participate in RV remodeling. This study is undertaken to explore the role of miR-335-5p in regulating RV remodeling induced by PAH. Two PAH models were used in the study, including the monocrotaline rat model and hypoxia/su5416 mouse model. miRNA sequencing and RT-qPCR validation identified that miR-335-5p was elevated in the RV of PAH rats. In vitro, miR-335-5p expression was increased after angiotensin II treatment, and miR-335-5p inhibition relieved angiotensin II-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. The luciferase reporter assay showed that calumenin was a target gene for miR-335-5p. Pretreatment with miR-335-5p inhibitors could rescue calumenin downregulation induced by angiotensin II in H9C2 cells. Moreover, intracellular Ca2+ concentration and apoptosis were increased after angiotensin II treatment, and miR-335-5p inhibition decreased intracellular Ca2+ accumulation and apoptosis. Finally, in vivo miR-335-5p downregulation (antagomir miR-335-5p) attenuated RV remodeling and rescued calumenin downregulation under conditions of hypoxia/su5416 exposure. Because of the precise control of film thickness, atomic layer deposition (ALD) offers significant advantages in fabricating high-quality superlattice films. For the first time, a SiN x /SiO 2 superlattice with an ultrathin SiN x sublayer layer (1.5 nm) and a SiO 2 barrier layer (3 nm) was successfully fabricated using plasma-enhanced ALD. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements demonstrate the maintenance of multilayer structures with smooth interfaces. Next, the annealing effect on the microstructural, optical, and chemical properties of these SiN x /SiO 2 superlattice structures was thoroughly investigated. With increasing annealing temperature, X-ray reflection (XRR) and TEM measurements revealed consistent changes in interface, morphology, roughness, density, and thickness. After high-temperature annealing, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) measurements combined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements revealed significant reductions in Si–H-related defects and absorption bands. Photoluminescence (PL) was used to characterize the light emission property, and it was discovered that increasing the annealing temperature decreased the PL peak intensity at ∼550 and 900 nm. The silicon nanocrystals (Si–NCs)-related PL peak (∼900 nm) became dominant as the annealing temperature increased. The findings in this paper shed light on the annealing effect on the new superlattice material prepared via ALD. Improved PL properties of this type of superlattice are expected and can be obtained in future research by optimizing the ALD deposition process and annealing parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The cellular instabilities of expanding hydrogen-propane-nitrous oxide spherical flames were experimentally and theoretically investigated at various equivalence ratios (ϕ =0.4–1.6), hydrogen fractions (X H =0–0.8), and initial pressures (P u =1.1–1.5 bar). The experiments were conducted in a constant volume combustion chamber (CVCC) using high-speed schlieren technology to record the flame morphology, while the theoretical analysis was based on linear stability theory. The controlling parameters, critical conditions for the onset of instability, flame front oscillation intensity, logarithmic growth rate of perturbation, etc. were studied. The results indicate that the instability of premixed hydrogen-propane-nitrous oxide flames is dominated by hydrodynamic instability at X H ≤ 0.6 , while the competitive mechanism between thermal-diffusion and hydrodynamic instabilities is considered at X H = 0.8. The oscillation intensity in the horizontal direction of the flame profile is more prominent than those in other directions, and with the increasing hydrogen fraction, the equivalence ratio at which the highest oscillation strength occurs shifts from ϕ =1.0 to ϕ =0.6. The trends of the experimental critical radius and Peclet number with each initial condition are completely identical to that of the theoretical value, but the experimental value is somewhat underpredicted. Novelty and Significance Statement: This work is the first study on the cellular instabilities of hydrogen-propane-nitrous oxide flames by experiment and theory. It is under a small scale and reduced initial pressure condition that the cellular destabilization of hydrogen-propane flames is realized in the nitrous oxide atmosphere, while in the air atmosphere, the initial condition at which flame cellular destabilization occurs is harsher. Flame front oscillation strength, growth rate of disturbance, etc. were used to characterize quantitatively the degree of wrinkles and instabilities. Some novel findings were presented in the study. The CKLF-like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing 6 (CMTM6) plays an extremely important role of the programed death receptor ligand-1 (PD-L1) protein. Our study is aimed at investigating the expression of CMTM6 and PD-L1 proteins in triple-negative breast cancer and their correlation with the clinical pathological data of patients. We selected 89 cases of triple-negative breast cancer and 62 cases of normal breast tissue specimens. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression levels of CMTM6 and PD-L1 and to carefully study differences in their expression. The expression of CMTM6 and PD-L1 in TNBC was higher than that in normal breast tissue, and the expression of the two was positively correlated (p < 0.05). In TNBC, CMTM6 expression is positively correlated with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, Ki67 proliferation index, and TNM stage (p < 0.05). PD-L1 expression is positively correlated with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, Ki67 proliferation index, TNM stage, and vascular infiltration (p < 0.05). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the positive expression of CMTM6 and PD-L1 had no correlation with the survival rate of patients (p > 0.05). According to KM-plotter, we found that a higher CMTM6 expression was positively related with relapse-free survival rate of patients (p < 0.05). A higher PD-L1 expression was positively correlated with relapse-free, overall, and distant metastasis survival rate of patients (p < 0.05). In timer database, we found a positive correlation between the expression of CMTM6 and PD-L1 in triple-negative breast cancer. Both CMTM6 and PD-L1 are highly expressed in TNBC, and their expressions are positively related. Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. is a wild diploid strawberry species. The intense peach-like aroma of its fruits makes F. nilgerrensis an excellent resource for strawberry breeding programs aimed at enhancing flavors. However, the formation of the peach-like aroma of strawberry fruits has not been comprehensively characterized. In this study, fruit metabolome and transcriptome datasets for F. nilgerrensis (HA; peach-like aroma) and its interspecific hybrids PA (peach-like aroma) and NA (no peach-like aroma; control) were compared. In total, 150 differentially accumulated metabolites were detected. The K-means analysis revealed that esters/lactones, including acetic acid, octyl ester, δ-octalactone, and δ-decalactone, were more abundant in HA and PA than in NA. These metabolites may be important for the formation of the peach-like aroma of F. nilgerrensis fruits. The significantly enriched gene ontology terms assigned to the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were fatty acid metabolic process and fatty acid biosynthetic process. Twenty-seven DEGs were predicted to be associated with ester and lactone biosynthesis, including AAT, LOX, AOS, FAD, AIM1, EH, FAH, ADH, and cytochrome P450 subfamily genes. Thirty-five transcription factor genes were predicted to be associated with aroma formation, including bHLH, MYB, bZIP, NAC, AP2, GATA, and TCPfamily members. Moreover, we identified differentially expressed FAD, AOS, and cytochrome P450 family genes and NAC, MYB, and AP2 transcription factor genes that were correlated with δ-octalactone and δ-decalactone. Simple Summary: Incisional tissue biopsy is highly invasive, but it remains the current practice for oral cancer diagnosis through histopathological interpretation. To reduce biopsy invasiveness without compromising diagnosis, we pioneered a multigene RT-qPCR method for cancer detection using only a tiny 1 mm3 minimally invasive biopsy. Here we presented international multicohort validation of our second-generation method which involved new genes from matrix/stroma and immune regulations enabling sensitive, quantitative and precise oral cancer detection in otherwise ambiguous oral lesions. Background: Heterogeneity in oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) poses a problem for accurate prognosis that impacts on treatment strategy and patient outcome. A holistic assessment based on gene expression signatures from both the tumour cells and their microenvironment is necessary to provide a more precise prognostic assessment than just tumour cell signatures alone. Methods: We reformulated our previously established multigene qPCR test, quantitative Malignancy Index Diagnostic System (qMIDS) with new genes involved in matrix/stroma and immune modulation of the tumour microenvironment. An algorithm calculates and converts a panel of 16 gene mRNA expression levels into a qMIDS index to quantify risk of malignancy for each sample. Results: The new qMIDSV2 assay was validated in a UK oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cohort (n = 282) of margin and tumour core samples demonstrating significantly better diagnostic performance (AUC = 0.945) compared to previous qMIDSV1 (AUC = 0.759). Performance of qMIDSV2 were independently validated in Chinese (n = 35; AUC = 0.928) and Indian (n = 95; AUC = 0.932) OSCC cohorts. Further, 5-year retrospective analysis on an Indian dysplastic lesion cohort (n = 30) showed that qMIDSV2 was able to significantly differentiate between lesions without transformation and those with malignant transformation. Conclusions: This study validated a novel multi-gene qPCR test on a total of 535 tissue specimens from UK, China and India, demonstrating a rapid minimally invasive method that has a potential application for dysplasia risk stratification. A calculation method of the bearing capacity of single squeezed branch pile is established based on the load transfer method. In the method, the hyperbolic model is used to describe the nonlinear load-displacement relationship of pile-soil interaction at the pile tip, the pile skin, and the squeezed branch, and the theoretical expression of six load transfer coefficients of squeezed branch pile is given. The correctness of the method is proved by a small-scale model test in homogeneous soil and a large-scale model test in stratified soil. Secreted protein, acidic and rich in cysteine (SPARC, also known as osteonectin), is a small molecule glycoprotein associated with cell secretions. The purpose of our research is to clarify the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of SPARC expression in breast cancer. In this study, we performed a meta-analysis and bioinformatics analysis using the PubMed, Web of Science, Wanfang Data, and CNKI databases. The meta-analysis showed that SPARC expression was elevated in breast cancer tissue, compared with normal tissue, while SPARC expression in tumor stromal cells was higher than that of tumor cells. The expression of SPARC was positively correlated with histological grade and TNM staging. The Kaplan-Meier plotter showed that low SPARC expression was negatively correlated with the overall, postprogression, and distant metastasis survival rates of patients. According to Oncomine database, SPARC expression was upregulated in breast cancer than normal tissues. In TCGA database, univariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and TNM staging were negatively correlated with patient prognosis in breast cancers. Cox multivariate analysis showed that age, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and TNM staging were important factors affecting the survival time of breast cancer patients. It is crucial to identify the structures of active sites to understand how catalysts function and to use that understanding to develop better catalytic materials. ZSM-5 zeolites with dominant Al(IV)-2 sites have been developed in this work. 1H-27Al 2D HMQC and 2D 1H TQ(DQ)-SQ NMR experiments have been performed to investigate the structural properties of this acidic site. The Al(IV)-2 sites have Brønsted and Lewis acid characteristics. The catalytic performance of Al(IV)-2 sites has been tested by n-dodecane cracking reactions. The catalytic results show that the Brønsted acidic strength of the Al(IV)-2 sites is comparable to that of the Al(IV)-1 sites, but the Al(IV)-2 sites' Lewis acid characteristics provide extra catalytic activity. The motion condition of a friction stir welding tool significantly affects weld formation and quality in dissimilar joining between Al alloy and steel owing to its direct effect on thermo-mechanical condition during the process. In this study, a finite element simulation based on the coupled Eulerian–Lagrangian formulation was used to investigate the thermomechanical field evolutions in the friction stir lap welding of Al and steel, focusing on the effect of tool revolutionary pitch on thermal energy generation and material flow. Simulation results indicated that an increasing revolutionary pitch increased the proportion of heat input generated by plastic deformation, exhibiting an approximately linear relationship under the adopted welding parameters. With a fixed revolutionary pitch, a high- parameter-matching of rotational created higher welding temperatures. A lower revolutionary pitch resulted in higher welding temperature, leading to a thicker intermetallic layer at the Al/steel interface. However, a high revolutionary pitch under high-matching parameters significantly weakened the mixing of two materials behind the pin by decreasing material migration from the Al alloy and steel at the pin bottom on the retreating side, due to reduced temperature and increased deformation resistance. A parabolic mathematical correlation between interfacial strength and revolutionary pitch was observed, suggesting that maintaining a revolutionary pitch within the range of 0.4 to 1.2 mm/rev could produce a robust Al/steel lapped interface with joining efficiencies of approximately 91% or higher compared to the Al alloy base metal. In the present study, both experiments and thermo-mechanical coupled simulations were conducted to characterise the diverse crystallisation behaviours and the processing parameter-microstructure-mechanical property relationships occurring in laser-assisted tape placement (LATP) manufacturing of carbon fibre (CF)/Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) laminates. Specifically, at various processing temperatures (350 °C or 400 oC), increasing the compaction pressure from 2 to 4 bar causes distinct defect distribution behaviours. However, variations in processing parameters show minimal effect on the morphology and size of crystallised spherulites, which were consistently around 2–3 μm in size, resulting in a final crystallinity of manufactured laminates within 30%–35%. It was found that the cold crystallisation processes occurring in PEEK during LATP play an important role in determining the final degree of crystallinity. Experimental measurements and simulations indicate that changes in processing parameters have a negligible effect on residual stress levels, especially regarding interlaminar residual stresses. A processing temperature of 400 °C was found to generate a diffuse, yet coherent, interphase spanning the fibre/matrix interface with a thickness approximately 70 nm. In contrast, at a processing temperature of 350 °C, a distinct, incoherent interface was confirmed between fibre and matrix. The formation of the interphase, coupled with fewer defects, leading to a relatively high interlaminar shear strength (78 MPa) of manufactured laminates under appropriate processing conditions. Therefore, it is suggested that regulating the degree of cold crystallisation in polymer matrices while ensuring a strong fibre/matrix interfacial bond by the optimisation of processing temperature, will enable the tailoring of microstructure and design of composites to meet specific strength property requirements. SUMMARY: Rhododendrons are woody plants, famous throughout the world as having high horticultural value. However, many wild species are currently threatened with extinction. Here, we report for the first time a high‐quality, chromosome‐level genome of Rhododendron griersonianum, which has contributed to approximately 10% of all horticultural rhododendron varieties but which in its wild form has been evaluated as critically endangered. The final genome assembly, which has a contig N50 size of approximately 34 M and a total length of 677 M, is the highest‐quality genome sequenced within the genus to date, in part due to its low heterozygosity (0.18%). Identified repeats constitute approximately 57% of the genome, and 38 280 protein‐coding genes were predicted with high support. We further resequenced 31 individuals of R. griersonianum as well as 30 individuals of its widespread relative R. delavayi, and performed additional conservation genomic analysis. The results showed that R. griersonianum had lower genetic diversity (θ = 2.58e−3; π = 1.94e−3) when compared not only to R. delavayi (θ = 11.61e−3, π = 12.97e−3), but also to most other woody plants. Furthermore, three severe genetic bottlenecks were detected using both the Stairway plot and fastsimcoal2 analysis, which are thought to have occurred in the late Middle Pleistocene and the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) period. After these bottlenecks, R. griersonianum recovered and maintained a constant effective population size (>25 000) until now. Intriguingly, R. griersonianum has accumulated significantly more deleterious mutations in the homozygous state than R. delavayi, and several deleterious mutations (e.g., in genes involved in the response to heat stress) are likely to have harmed the adaptation of this plant to its surroundings. This high‐quality, chromosome‐level genome and the population genomic analysis of the critically endangered R. griersonianum will provide an invaluable resource as well as insights for future study in this species to facilitate conservation and in the genus Rhododendron in general. Objective. Leucine-rich α2 glycoprotein 1 (LRG1) is a novel cytokine, which is believed to be involved in the inflammatory process of a series of diseases. However, the relationship between LRG1 and spinal cord injury (SCI) has not been reported. The purpose of our study is to determine the predictive value of LRG1 for the prognosis of pediatric SCI (PSCI). Methods. This study recruited 64 patients with confirmed PSCI and 40 healthy controls at Foshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2016 to December 2020. The clinical information of all participants at the time of admission was recorded. Peripheral blood was collected, and commercial reagents were used to detect the level of serum LRG1. At the same time, the International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury (ISNCSCI) was used to assess the severity of PSCI. Results. All participants were divided into PSCI group (n = 64) and NC group (n = 40). There was no significant difference in clinical information (age, gender, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, sampling time from injury, white blood cells, and C-reactive protein) between the two groups (p > 0.05). According to the interquartile range of serum LRG1, we compared the motor and sensory scores of ISNCSCI and found that serum LRG1 levels were negatively correlated with the prognosis of PSCI patients (p < 0.001). The results of receiver operating curve (ROC) showed that the sensitivity, specificity, and AUC (Area Under the Curve) of serum LRG1 level in predicting the prognosis of PSCI were 68.4%, 69.1%, and 0.705, respectively. The cut-off value of serum LRG1 level predicting the prognosis of PSCI is 21.1 μg/ml. Conclusions. Serum LRG1 level is significantly increased in PSCI patients, and the elevated LRG1 level is negatively correlated with the prognosis of PSCI patients. Many structural applications are attracted to natural fibre-reinforced polymeric composites due to their eco-friendliness, recyclability, and cost-effectiveness. While significant progress has been made, their interface compatibility with the polymeric matrix is still challenging. Therefore, the present study proposed a method for improving the mechanical and dynamic mechanical performance of flax-reinforced novel methylmethacrylate (Elium®) and urethane acrylate (Crestapol®) composites. The technique involved the dispersion of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) in the matrix at different weight percentages (0.5–0.75%) to improve the fibre/matrix interface. Flax/Elium® (FE) and flax/Crestapol® (FC) composites with varying weight percentages of MCC were manufactured using the vacuum infusion method. The resulting improvements in mechanical and dynamic properties were evaluated through in-plane shear (± 45° tensile), flexural, short beam shear, and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The effects of MCC on these properties of flax/Elium® were compared to those of flax/Crestapol® composites. The addition of MCC improved the in-plane shear strength (FE: 13–20%, FC: 10–17%), flexural strength (FE: 6–13%, FC: 13%) and interlaminar shear strength (FE: 9–17%, FC: 10–20%). Also, FE composite showed 7–11%, 10–14% and 10–17% higher in-plane shear, flexural and interlaminar shear strengths, respectively, compared to FC composites. Using the singles and doubles approximated relativistic coupled-cluster method, we calculate hyperfine-structure constant A and B of 24 low-lying states of La2+. The results of the lowest four states 5d3/2,5/2 and 4f5/2,7/2 are compared with recently measured values (Olmschenk et al 2017 Phys. Rev. A 96 032502). Reasonable agreement is found for hyperfine-structure constant A of 5d3/2 and 4f5/2,7/2 states, but the hyperfine-structure constant A of 5d5/2 and the hyperfine-structure constant B have a large deviation. To understand the role of the electron correlation effect, the intermediate results from lower-order many-body perturbation-theory and the linear version of coupled-cluster with single and double approximation are also presented. Background: The high incidence of type 2 diabetes, the low rate of compliance, and the complex mechanism of vascular disease caused by diabetes make its complications increase year by year. Our study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics of lower extremity vascular diseases in type 2 diabetes and evaluate the long‐term efficacy of vascular intervention for these diseases. Methods: From 2007 to 2014, 362 patients who underwent vascular intervention in our hospital due to lower extremity vascular diseases in type 2 diabetes were followed up for 5 years and their clinical characteristics were analyzed in this retrospective study. Results: Compared with those before treatment, the values of blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride Ester (TG), and low density lipoprotein‐cholesterol (LDL‐C) of patients were significantly lower 5 years after intervention (P < 0.01). We found that the levels of fibrinogen, blood glucose, HbA1c, TC, TG, LDL‐C, and small dense low‐density lipoprotein (sdLDL) in the vascular restenosis group were significantly higher than those in the vascular patency group (P < 0.001), whereas the level of HDL‐C in the vascular restenosis group was significantly lower compared with the vascular patency group. Conclusions: Vascular intervention can significantly improve a series of biochemical indicators in patients with lower extremity vascular diseases caused by type 2 diabetes. Postoperative restenosis may be related to hypertension, duration of diabetes, rate of inferior knee disease, fibrinogen, and sdLDL. MRT via spindle transfer in oocytes was developed and proposed to prevent transmission of pathogenic mtDNA mutations from mothers to children.Study Design, Size, Duration: The study provides longitudinal studies on general health, fertility as well as transmission and segregation of parental mtDNA haplotypes to various tissues and organs in five adult MRT rhesus macaques and their offspring.Participants/materials, Setting, Methods: MRT was achieved by spindle transfer between metaphase II oocytes from genetically divergent rhesus macaque populations. After fertilization of oocytes with sperm, heteroplasmic zygotes contained an unequal mixture of three parental genomes, i.e. donor (≥97%), maternal (≤3%), and paternal (≤0.1%) mitochondrial (mt)DNA. MRT monkeys were grown to adulthood and their development and general health was regularly monitored. Reproductive fitness of male and female MRT macaques was evaluated by time-mated breeding and production of live offspring. The relative contribution of donor, maternal, and paternal mtDNA was measured by whole mitochondrial genome sequencing in all organs and tissues of MRT animals and their offspring.Main Results and the Role Of Chance: Both male and female MRT rhesus macaques containing unequal mixture of three parental genomes, i.e. donor (≥97%), maternal (≤3%), and paternal (≤0.1%) mtDNA reached healthy adulthood, were fertile and most animals stably maintained the initial ratio of parental mtDNA heteroplasmy and donor mtDNA was transmitted from females to offspring. However, in one monkey out of four analyzed, initially negligible maternal mtDNA heteroplasmy levels increased substantially up to 17% in selected internal tissues and organs. We utilize an unprecedented liberalization episode in China, namely its World Trade Organization accession, to estimate the impact of trade liberalization on firm markup and markup distribution. Using a panel data quantile regression, we show that the impact of tariff reduction on markup can be heterogeneous to different firms, resulting in an unevenly distributed markup change across firms. Background: Depression is an emotional disorder characterized by depression, lack of pleasure, and cognitive and sleep disorders. It is a systemic disease with a complex pathogenesis. In this study, we will be focused to investigate their associations and the exact functional mechanisms of miR-382-5p and NR3C1 in depression. Materials and Methods: We measured the expressions of microRNA-382-5p (miR-382-5p) and NR3C1 in the hippocampus by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Depression behavior test including novelty-suppressed feeding test (NSFT), sucrose preference test (SPT), and forced swim test (FST) on rats have been conducted to examine the roles and functions of miR-382-5p and NR3C1 on depression-like behaviors by lentivirus vectors. Results: Up-regulation of miR-382-5p and down-regulation of NR3C1 were observed in rats' hippocampus induced by CUMS. miR-382-5p targeted NR3C1 and inhibited the expressions of NR3C1 in rats' hippocampus. miR-382-5p could significantly change the depression behaviors induced by CUMS. NR3C1 downstream BDNF and p-TrkB were also oppositely associated with miR-382-5p in rats' hippocampus. The “magnetic window” is considered to be an effective technique for alleviating a vehicle’s atmospheric reentry blackout, whereas the dynamic variation characteristic of the plasma sheath is critical for the vehicle’s communication. In this article, the effects of dynamic plasma sheath on electromagnetic wave propagation and the bit error rate (BER) of two typical modulation signals under an external magnetic field are investigated. First, the hybrid matrix method is used to calculate the transmission coefficients of right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) waves with different magnetic fields and plasma electron density fluctuation. Then, the average BER of two typical modulations signals, namely M-ary phase-shift keying (MPSK) and noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying modulation (NC-MFSK) is numerically simulated based on the magnetized plasma sheath channel response. The results show that the magnitude in dB scale and phase of the RHCP transmission coefficient follow Gaussian distribution when the probability density function of the electron density is a Gaussian distribution. The BER performance of binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) and NC-MFSK is relevant to the incident wave frequency, the plasma stopband, and the intensity of electron density variation. This study mitigated the challenge of head and neck CT angiography by IPA-based time-resolved imaging of contrast kinetics. To this end, 627 cerebral hemorrhage patients with dizziness, brain aneurysm, stroke, or hemorrhagic stroke diagnosis were randomly categorized into three groups, namely, the original dataset (450), verification group (112), and in vivo testified group (65), in the Affiliated BenQ Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. In the first stage, seven risk factors were assigned: age, CTA tube voltage, body surface area, heart rate per minute, cardiac output blood per minute, the actual injected amount of contrast media, and CTA delayed trigger timing. The expectation value of the semi-empirical formula was the CTA number of the patient's left artery (LA). Accordingly, 29 items of the first-order nonlinear equation were calculated via the inverse problem analysis (IPA) technique run in the STATISTICA 7.0 program, yielding a loss function and variance of 3.1837 and 0.8892, respectively. A dimensionless AT was proposed to imply the coincidence, with a lower AT indicating a smaller deviation between theoretical and practical values. The derived formula was confirmed for the verification group of 112 patients, reaching high coincidence, with average ATavg and standard deviation values of 3.57% and 3.06%, respectively. In the second stage, the formula was refined to find the optimal amount of contrast media for the CTA number of LA approaching 400. Finally, the above procedure was applied to head and neck CTA images of the third group of 65 patients, reaching an average CTA number of LA of 407.8 ± 16.2 and finding no significant fluctuations. Since the consecutive discovery of several gas fields from 2004 to present, the Rakhine Basin has been an active area for petroleum exploration in the Bay of Bengal. High-resolution 3D seismic data and well data from blocks AD1, AD6 and AD8 offshore northwest Myanmar are used to study the Miocene–Pleistocene depositional architecture and sedimentary evolution in the Rakhine Basin. Analysis of seismic facies and seismic attributes indicates that deep-water architectural elements include submarine canyons, confined slope channel complex systems, aggradational channel–levee complexes, isolated channels, frontal splays and mass-transport complexes, which have variable characters (shape, dimension, sedimentary architecture) within predominantly background deep-water slope-basin floor facies. Most of the sediments are interpreted to be sourced from the Ganges–Brahmaputra fluvio-deltaic system to the north with only minor lateral input from the Indo-Myanmar Ranges to the east. Investigation of the depositional evolution and architectural elements transformation during the filling history of the Rakhine Basin suggests the Rakhine Basin experienced rapid progradation during the Oligocene–Middle/Upper Miocene, gradual retrogradation during the Middle/Upper Miocene–Early Pliocene and gradual progradation during the Early Pliocene–Pleistocene. Published exploration results indicate that the main reservoirs of the discoveries in blocks A1 and A3 are Pliocene frontal splays and channel–levee fills, dominated by fine and very fine-grained sandstones, in structural and structural–stratigraphic traps. Analytic results from seismic characters and several exploration wells indicate that channel complexes and associated overbanks and frontal splays with fine-grained sandstones and siltstones trapped by the four-way closures are primary reservoir targets. Background: Long non-coding RNA H19 (lncRNA H19) has been implicated in tumorigenesis and metastasis of breast cancer through regulating epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT); however, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Methods: LncRNA H19 and TNFAIP8 were identified by qRT-PCR and western blotting. CCK-8 assay, clone formation assay, transwell assay, and flow cytometry assay were performed to determine cell proliferation, migration, invasion and cell cycle of breast cancer respectively. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry (IHC) were utilized to evaluate the protein expression levels of p53, TNFAIP8, and marker proteins of EMT cascades in vivo. Dual luciferase reporter assay and RNA pull down assay were conducted to evaluate the interactions of lncRNA H19, p53 and TNFAIP8. Results: The expression of lncRNA H19 and TNFAIP8 was up-regulated in breast cancer tissues and cell lines, especially in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Functionally, knockdown of lncRNA H19 or TNFAIP8 coused the capacities of cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were suppressed, and cell cycle arrest was induced, as well as that the EMT markers were expressed abnormal. Mechanistically, lncRNA H19 antagonized p53 and increased expression of its target gene TNFAIP8 to promote EMT process. Furthermore, silencing of lncRNA H19 or TNFAIP8 also could inhibit tumorigenesis and lymph node metastases of MDA-MB-231 cells in xenograft nude mouse models. Conclusions: Our findings provide insight into a novel mechanism of lncRNA H19 in tumorigenesis and metastases of breast cancer and demonstrate H19/p53/TNFAIP8 axis as a promising therapeutic target for breast cancer, especially for TNBC. Background: The 2016 guidelines for left ventricular diastolic dysfunction diagnosis has been simplified from previous versions; however, multiparametric diagnosis approach still exists indeterminate left ventricular diastolic dysfunction category. Left atrial (LA) strain was recently found useful to predict elevated left ventricular (LV) filling pressures noninvasively. This study aimed to (1) analyze the diagnostic value of LA strain for noninvasive assessment of LV filling pressures in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD) with preserved LV ejection fraction (LVEF), using invasive hemodynamic assessment as the gold standard, and (2) explore whether LA strain combined with conventional diastolic parameters could detect elevated LV filling pressures alone.Methods: Sixty-four patients with stable CAD having LVEF > 50% and 30 healthy controls were enrolled. Two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography was used to measure LA strain during the reservoir (LASr), conduit, and contraction phases. LV end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP), as a surrogate for LV filling pressures, was invasively obtained by left heart catheterization. Logistic regression was used to calculate the odds ratio to predict LV filling pressures. Pearson's correlation was used to analyze associations between echocardiographic parameters and LVEDP. The area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve was calculated to determine the capability of the echocardiographic parameters to detect elevated LVEDP. Inter-technique agreement was analyzed by contingency tables and tested by kappa statistics.Results: LASr and the ratio of early-diastolic transmitral flow velocity (E) to tissue Doppler early-diastolic septal mitral annular velocity (E/E'septal) significantly predicted elevated LV filling pressures. LASr was combined with E/E'septal to generate a novel parameter (LASr/E/E'septal). LASr/E/E'septal had the best predictive ability of elevated LV filling pressures. LVEDP was negatively correlated with LASr and LASr/E/E'septal but positively correlated with E/E'septal. The area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve of LASr/E/E'septal was higher than that of LASr alone (0.83 vs. 0.75), better than all conventional LV diastolic parameters. Inter-technique agreement analysis showed that LASr/E/E'septal had good agreement with the invasive LVEDP measurement, better than the 2016 guideline (kappa = 0.63 vs. 0.25).Conclusions: LASr provided additive diagnostic value for the noninvasive assessment of LV filling pressures. Three kinds of Pt-Cu bimetallic catalysts (Cu/Pt (111), Pt/Cu/Pt (111), and Pt4Cu5/Pt (111)) have been researched employing density functional theory (DFT) calculation, using dehydrogenation of cyclohexene to benzene as a probe reaction. The adsorption energies are basically in the sequence: Pt4Cu5/Pt (111) > Cu/Pt (111) ≈ Pt/Cu/Pt (111). The key step is C6H9 → C6H8 on Cu/Pt (111) (0.85 eV) and Pt/Cu/Pt (111) (0.87 eV). On Pt4Cu5/Pt (111), the key step is C6H7 → C6H6 (1.17 eV). The selectivity for gas phase benzene is in the order of Cu/Pt(111) > Pt/Cu/Pt(111) > Pt4Cu5/Pt(111), according to the energy difference between the barrier of benzene dehydrogenated to phenyl and benzene desorption. The co-adsorbed hydrogen atoms lead to improved selectivity for gas phase benzene on Cu/Pt (111) and Pt/Cu/Pt (111), by making benzene desorption easy but dehydrogenation difficult. However, the barrier of benzene dehydrogenation decreases with the increase of H coverage on the Pt4Cu5/Pt (111) due to obvious destabilized benzene, and thus the effect on Pt4Cu5/Pt (111) is closely related to the concentration of surface H. Attributed to thermodynamic stability, high activity, and selectivity for gas benzene, the Pt/Cu/Pt (111) structure is suggested as reasonable dehydrogenation catalyst, and the dehydrogenation process on Pt/Cu/Pt(111) has been further studied by microkinetic modeling. A volcano-like relationship is found between the adsorption of cyclohexene and the TOF (turnover frequency) of gas phase benzene. Calcifying fibrous pseudotumors (CFPs) are rare benign lesions mostly occurring in the limbs, necks and gastrointestinal tracts of young adults. In the present study, we report the first known case of a pelvic CFP in China in a 67-year-old male patient. The solitary tumor had an extremely regular shape and was in the vicinity of the sigmoid colon. Surgical resection was performed and the tumor was histologically diagnosed as CFP. We reviewed 64 cases of CFPs and discussed the clinical features of this disease in China and other countries. We found that the CFPs were most common in patients aged 18-60 and often had no obvious symptoms. They were immunoreactive for vimentin and factor XIIIa, while negative for CD117 and S100. In China, CFPs were mostly identified in the stomach, possibly associated with Chinese eating. The pathogenesis of this disease remains unclear. Estrogen receptor α (ERα) is closely associated with both hormone-dependent and hormone-independent tumors, and it is also essential for the development of these cancers. The functions of ERα are bi-faceted; it can contribute to cancer progression as well as cancer inhibition. Therefore, understanding ERα is vital for the treatment of those cancers that are closely associated with its expression. Here, we will elaborate on ERα based on its structure, localization, activation, modification, and mutation. Also, we will look at co-activators of ERα, elucidate the signaling pathway activated by ERα, and identify cancers related to its activation. As one of the possible signals for the whereabouts of the critical point on the QCD phase diagram, recently, the multiplicity fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions have aroused much attention. It is a crucial observation of the Beam Energy Scan program of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. In this work, we investigate the centrality dependence of the multiplicity fluctuations regarding the recent measurements from STAR Collaboration. By employing a hydrodynamical approach, the present study is dedicated to the noncritical aspects of the phenomenon. To be specific, in addition to the thermal fluctuations, finite volume corrections, and resonance decay at the freeze-out surface, the model is focused on the properties of the hydrodynamic expansion of the system and the event-by-event initial fluctuations. It is understood that the real signal of the critical point can only be obtained after appropriately subtracting the background; the latter is investigated in the present work. Background. Actin filament-associated protein 1-antisense RNA 1 (AFAP1-AS1) plays an important role in the development and progression of several human cancers. However, its biological function in gastric cancer (GC) progression is still unknown. Methods. We used qRT-PCR to detect the relative expression of AFAP1-AS1 in GC tissues and cell lines. The loss-of-function assays were conducted to detect the effect of AFAP1-AS1 on GC development. Bioinformatics analysis, luciferase reporter gene analysis, and RIP analysis were used to identify and validate target genes of AFAP1-AS1. Finally, rescue tests were performed to confirm the influence of the AFAP1-AS1-miR-155-5p-FGF7 axis on GC development. Results. AFAP1-AS1 was upregulated in GC tissues and cell lines and was closely correlated with poor prognosis of GC patients. AFAP1-AS1 knockdown inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion of GC cells, indicating that AFAP1-AS1 acts as an oncogene in GC. Bioinformatics analysis, dual-luciferase reporter gene detection, and RIP assays validated that AFAP1-AS1 directly interacts to miR-155-5p and could positively affect cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by regulation of the expression of miR-155-5p and FGF7. Further rescue assays revealed that AFAP1-AS1 promotes cell proliferation and metastasis through the miR-155-5p/FGF7 axis in GC. Conclusions. AFAP1-AS1 might be an oncogenic lncRNA that promoted GC progression by acting as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) that regulates the expression of FGF7 through sponging miR-155-5p, suggesting that AFAP1-AS1 may be a novel potential therapeutic target for GC. Background: Cystatin SN (CST1) has been reported to act as an oncogene in cancers, but its underlying mechanism remains unclear. Methods: We performed Western blotting analyses to observe protein expression and conducted transwell invasion, wound healing, and colony formation assays to assess cell invasion, migration, and proliferation, respectively. We also performed cell cycle analyses by flow cytometry to determine the role of CST1 in the cell cycle. In vivo experiments used subcutaneous tumor models in BALB/c-nu athymic female mice to evaluate the effect of CST1 on tumor growth. Results: Western blotting analyses showed that CST1 was upregulated in ER+ breast cancer cells such as MCF7, T47D, and BT474. CST1 knockdown led to slower cell growth and inhibited the G1 to S phase transition in ER+ breast cancer cells. In vivo experiments showed that CST1 deletion inhibited tumor growth, and led to decreased expression of estrogen receptor α (ERα) and p-AKT. In vitro experiments showed that the over-expression of CST1 led to the upregulation of ERα, and inhibition of CST1 inhibited the expression of ERα. Western blotting analyses showed that CST1 regulated the activity of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in breast cancer cells. We confirmed that CST1 acted as an oncogene in ER+ breast cancer by regulating the ERα/PI3K/AKT/ERα loopback pathway. Conclusion: CST1 acts as an oncogene in ER+ breast cancer, and CST1 contributes to cancer development by regulating the ERα/PI3K/AKT/ERα loopback pathway in ER+ breast cancer. Our findings indicate that CST1 could be a significant therapeutic target for ER+ breast cancer patients. Our discovery should inspire further studies on the role of CST1 in cancers. Although the convolutional neural network (CNN) has exhibited outstanding performance in various applications, the deployment of CNN on embedded and mobile devices is limited by the massive computations and memory footprint. To address these challenges, Courbariaux and co-workers put forward binarized neural network (BNN) which quantizes both the weights and activations to ± 1. From the perspective of hardware, BNN can greatly simplify the computation and reduce the storage. In this work, we first present the algorithm optimizations to further binarize the first layer and the padding bits of BNN; then we propose a fully binarized CNN accelerator. With the Shuffle–Compute structure and the memory-aware computation schedule scheme, the proposed design can boost the performance for feature maps of different sizes and make full use of the memory bandwidth. To evaluate our design, we implement the accelerator on the Zynq ZC702 board, and the experiments on the SVHN and CIFAR-10 datasets show the state-of-the-art performance efficiency and resource efficiency. The distributed fault‐tolerant control (FTC) problem for a class of non‐linear multi‐agent systems, in the presence of uncertain disturbances and actuator failures is studied. The considered actuator failure model includes bias fault and loss of effectiveness fault, and the total number of failures is allowed to be infinite. By combining a kind of high‐gain K‐filters and backstepping technique, the effect of uncertain disturbances and actuator failures can be effectively compensated by an output‐feedback FTC strategy. In addition, for each subsystem, an extra estimator is introduced to deal with the parametric uncertainties caused by its neighbours. Based on this, some additional uncertain information transmission among connected subsystems can be avoided. It is shown that all the signals of the closed‐loop system are globally bounded and the subsystem output tracking error can converge to an arbitrarily small residual by adjusting the high gain parameters.
