In DR Congo, there is a proliferation of fictions and spoken word texts that addresses aspects of the on-going conflict. Fiction in Congo does not concern itself with the rules of literary orthodoxy (verisimilitude, linguistic correctness, references), nor does it rely on the existence of a literary and editorial system that is structured and operating to guarantee a predetermined readership. Its main objective is to express emotions in an aesthetic way that touches the hearts of readers and spectators. However, the primary motivation for these proliferating literary initiatives is to resonate in the social space of the place from which they originate. In this respect, the productions examined here are ordinary aesthetic creations distilled through the alembic of everyday existence. Beginning with the observation of a profusion of love stories in the literature produced in the Congo during the last quarter-century, I demonstrate how the particular orientation of these contemporary love fictions responds to societal objectives regarding social cohesion and crisis management, particularly the call for resilience. I then analyse how the issues involved in this injunction are related to care, which is presented as the only possible, acceptable, and even desirable path in this context of violence.

The purpose of this research was to predict love stories and love styles based on early maladaptive schemas. The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population comprised all married teachers in Tehran (Districts 2 and 5) in school year 2018-19. Random multi-stage cluster sampling method was utilized and 300 teachers were selected. The instruments consisted of Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form (2005), Sternberg Love Story Scale (2001), and Lee Love Attitude Scale (1986). Pearson correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were utilized to analyze the data. Results showed that there was a significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas, love stories, and love styles. Moreover, early maladaptive schemas can predict love stories and love styles. Accordingly, it can be stated that types of schema have an impact on the formation of love stories and love styles based on which individuals choose their partners.

Owing to the fact that lyric poetry is regarded as a short, non-narrative poetry that expresses emotions, there rises the question of how long a story could be to be categorized under the lyric genre. Analyzing love stories from the viewpoint of genre, it is revealed that in stories in which love affairs are more important for the poet than the narration itself, different modes of expression take the place of narration, and hence, such modes as adoration, elegy, rhapsody, complain, and compliment almost always cause the narration to be halted, and, accordingly, make the poem take a lyric appearance. In this article, analyzing Khosrow & Shirin and Leli & Majnoon, the researcher shows how different modes of the poet’s emotions, as well as those of the characters, are foregrounded. As a consequence, in these stories, the reader faces the description of different aspects of emotions rather than narrative suspension. Thus, it is recommended that the term lyric be used not as a subcategory of mode but a genre in such stories

The legend of Zhu Yingtai and Liang Shanbo is among the perennial subject matters of folk literature in China. Despite its enormous popularity there, it has hitherto received very little attention in Western folk literature studies: This article presents a study of Zhu Yingtai lore across a varied body of pre-twentieth century texts, including the historical account, song-drama, and prosimetric narrative. It proposes a reassessment of the thematic focus and significance of the Zhu Yingtai narrative, arguing that it is primarily about female-to-male cross-dressing. What at the early stage began as a tale of failed recognition and disrupted male companionship, in song-drama and prosimetric narrative of subsequent periods was transformed into a comedy of gender ambiguity. The study of Zhu Yingtai lore offers important insights into the Chinese conceptions of gender and sex and their interrelationship. The Black bohemian is a largely overlooked character in both “Black” and White Hollywood despite an established subculture that has existed for years. This article looks at how Black American bohemian identity in two independent love films has evolved from the segregated world of Generation-X in Love Jones to the integrated world of two young millennial Black bohemians in Medicine for Melancholy. Using the markers of culture, space, and politics, this article posits that while we can read major superficial changes in the way Black bohemian identity has evolved between Generation-X and Generation-Y using these two films, on a fundamental level, Hollywood has not changed in its depictions of alternative Black life and love and continues to rely on the cliché tropes of a monolithic Black identity.
