[Objective] In order to investigate the mechanism of mechanical effect of root-soil complex and the application of modeling method. [Methods] The concept and connotation of root-soil complex, the principle of mechanical effect and mechanical model of root-soil complex, advantages and disadvantages as well as the scope of application were summarized and analyzed by using literature analysis method and comparative analysis method. [Results] (1) The root-soil complex was a composite whole of mechanical coupling effect between root system and soil body, and the root system was intertwined in soil playing a reinforced role. (2) The mechanical relationship between root system and soil body was essentially the result of soil mechanical, hydraulic and composite mechanical properties of root-soil complex. The soil mechanical and hydraulic properties focused on the influence of roots on the soil and the influence of water on the soil and root system respectively, and the composite mechanical properties focused on the direct influence of soil properties on the properties and structure of plant roots, so that the mechanical relationship between roots and soil was in a dynamic balance through the three. (3) The study of the composite mechanical model of the root-soil complex was slightly less than that of the soil mechanical and hydraulic model, which were based on quantitative parameters and measure the soil consolidation effect by comparing parameters. However, the composite mechanical properties involves both soil and hydraulic properties, which was a comprehensive consideration and should be the key research direction in the future. [Conclusion] In-depth research was needed in the future to investigate the effects of freeze-thaw cycle, dry-wet alternation and dry-hot cycle on root and soil interaction in different regions, the shear strength of multi-type plant mixtures, the influence mechanism of chemical and microbial effects on soil-water propertiess and the construction of composite models need to be further studied. This study can provide important theoretical value and engineering reference for vegetation restoration, soil and water conservation and sustainable development in ecologically fragile areas.

Objective To investigate the outcomes of a novel direct pulp capping agent containing platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). Methods A total of 32 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups, namely, the PRF+MTA group (P+M group), PRF group (P group), MTA group (M group) and blank control group (BC group), with 8 rabbits per group. Dental pulp exposure and direct pulp capping were performed, and complete crown square sealing was performed on 2 mandibular central incisor teeth of each rabbit. Four rabbits from each group were euthanized after each observation period (7 and 28 days). The experimental teeth were subjected to HE staining. Inflammatory cell infiltration, calcified bridge formation and pulp tissue disorganization were observed and graded. Results Inflammatory cell infiltration: on the 7th day, group P+M and group M were lighter than group BC (P0.05). Calcified bridge formation: on the 7th and 28th days, group P+M was lighter than group P, group M and group BC (P0.05). Conclusion The combination of PRF and MTA for direct pulp capping provided light inflammatory cell infiltration, stable pulp status and a strong ability of pulp tissue to form calcified bridge, and the calcified bridge resembled certain points of osteodentin.

Objective To explore the "clinical normal reference range" of pulpal blood flow (PBF) in the physiological state in an effort to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods According to the working principle and operational considerations of laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF), the PBF blood flow value of the first molars of the upper and lower mandibles of normal adults was detected by LDF, and the clinical reference value range under physiological conditions was analyzed and calculated. The differences in PBF values by sex, dental position and location (left and right side, upper and lower jaw) were analyzed. Results A total of 200 normal adult participants with an average age of (22.76 ± 3.26) years were included. The cohort included 95 males and 105 females, with a total of 800 first molars. Neither the PBF values of the left and right first molars nor the PBF values of the upper and lower first molars in males or females significantly differed (P>0.05). The PBF value for females was higher than that of males. Specifically, the clinical reference PBF values for males and females were (8.56 ± 3.25) PU and (9.51 ± 3.47) PU, respectively. Conclusion The PBF values of normal adult first molars in healthy subjects were higher in females than in males, and in the PBF values of first molars of the same sex did not significantly differ between the left side and right side or upper and lower jaw; these values could be used as a reference for the selection of control teeth.

Polygeneration systems have significant potential for energy conservation and emission reduction and can effectively promote green and low-carbon development in energy-intensive industries, such as the iron and steel industry. However, its application faces the difficulty in technology selection under multiple objectives simultaneously, which is to determine the technology portfolio to achieve the synergy of energy conservation goals and air pollutant emission reduction goals, as well as ensure the economic benefits of the enterprises. This study investigated a case polygeneration system where the iron and steel plant are the core with four polygeneration paths and twenty polygeneration technologies. A multi-objective optimization model is developed to select the optimal technology combination of each polygeneration path under energy conservation, emission reduction, and cost control objectives, which is solved by the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II (NSGA-II). The optimal results can reach significant energy conservation and emission reduction effects while obtaining economic benefits. However, synergistic and conflicting relationships among the objectives exist in both scales of iron and steel plants. The final decision scheme can achieve the mitigations equivalent to 15.9–27.1% and 16.3–42.6% of the energy consumption and air pollutant emissions of the steel enterprises with annual production of 3 Mt/a and 9 Mt/a, respectively. There are thirteen and twelve technologies that are selected as the final decision scheme in the polygeneration system in these two case enterprises. These findings demonstrate the significant roles the polygeneration system plays and provide critical insights and methodology in the technical selection of the polygeneration system. Objective To explore the current status of nursing staff's demand for virtual simulation training of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing technology, and analyze its influencing factors, in order to lay a theoretical foundation for the targeted development and application of TCM nursing simulation training system. Methods From July to October 2019, 320 nursing staff from three tertiary first-class TCM hospitals in Guangdong Province were selected. The general information questionnaire designed by the researcher and the nursing staff were used to investigate the technical needs of TCM nursing. Status of nursing simulation training needs and its influencing factors were analyzed. Results Acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping were the three most important needs of nursing staff for virtual simulation technology training, and the demand levels were (90. 26 ± 3. 14) points, (89. 23 ± 2. 08) points, and (87. 29 ± 3. 68) points, respectively. Multi-factor analysis shows that working department, working years, and whether you have any knowledge of virtual simulation are factors that affect the training needs of nursing staff in traditional Chinese medicine virtual simulation technology. Conclusion Nursing staff had a high degree of demand for virtual simulation. High-risk nursing projects such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping can be used as the first priority for the development of a virtual simulation system for TCM nursing. Young medical nurses can be used as the first pilot of this system The personnel will help the system to exert the best training effect. Objective To observe the root and root canal morphology of mandibular second molars in Western Guangxi by CBCT, to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods In total, 564 patients′ 1 128 mandibular second molars that satisfy the inclusion criteria were analyzed with a planmecaromexis CBCT machine and its own image analysis software. The patients′ gender, age and ethnic differences in the root and canal morphology and the symmetry of the bilateral root and canal were statistically analyzed. Results Among the 1 128 mandibular second molars, 662 were the Zhuang ethnic group and 384 were the Han ethnic group, and 82 were other ethnic groups; the double root type and C-shaped root type accounted for a relatively high proportion: 73.94% and 24.47%, respectively. Simple Summary: The rumen is a digestive organ in ruminants that is affected by soluble carbohydrate (SCHO) levels in the diet. This study confirmed that as the proportion of SCHO to NDF in the diet increased, the rumen pH decreased, the LPS concentration increased, and the papilla height and area increased. When the ratio of SCHO to NDF was 2.0, the tight junctions were disrupted, inflammatory cytokines levels were increased, and NF-κB/MAPK was activated. Appropriate soluble carbohydrate (SCHO)-to-NDF ratios in the diet are essential for rumen health. The effects of different SCHO-to-NDF ratios (1.0, 1.5, and 2.0) on rumen barrier function and inflammation in Dumont lambs (n = 18, 6 replicates per treatment) was investigated. The SCHO:NDF ratio was altered by replacing the forage (Leynus chinensis) with corn grain. With an increase in the proportion of SCHO, the final body weight (FBW), average daily gain (ADG), soluble carbohydrate intake (SCHOI), and LPS level increased; and the neutral detergent fiber intake (NDFI), ruminal papillae height, papillae area, and pH decreased (p < 0.05, plin < 0.05). The medium CHO:NDF group had increased claudin-1 mRNA (p < 0.05, plin = 0.005, pquad = 0.003) and protein (p < 0.05, pquad < 0.001) levels; the high CHO:NDF group had increased occludin mRNA and protein (p < 0.05, plin = 0.001) levels. The level of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 was significantly greater in the medium CHO:NDF group than in the high CHO:NDF group (p < 0.05, pquad < 0.001). With an increase in the ratio of SCHO, the mRNA level and concentration of the proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α linearly increased (p < 0.05, plin < 0.05), and those in the high CHO:NDF group were significantly greater than those in the low CHO:NDF group. The levels of phosphorylated p65 (plin = 0.003), IκB-α (plin < 0.001), and JNK (plin = 0.001) increased linearly, and those in the high CHO:NDF group were significantly greater than those in the other two groups (p < 0.05). Therefore, when the SCHO-to-NDF ratio was increased to 1.5, the rumen epithelium was not affected, but when the ratio was increased to 2.0, NF-κB and MAPK were activated in the rumen epithelium, leading to impaired barrier function and inflammation. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer with a high fatality rate in men and women worldwide. Recently, microRNAs (miRNAs) have been reported to be diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in NSCLC. MiR-223-3p was proved to act as a promoter in NSCLC progression. However, the regulatory mechanism of miR-223-3p in NSCLC remains little known. This study aimed to explore the regulatory mechanism between miR-223-3p and its target gene Ras homolog family member B (RHOB) in NSCLC. The mRNA level of miR-223-3p and RHOB was measured by quantitative reverse transcription PCR. Furthermore, cell viability was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. Flow cytometry was conducted to analyze cell apoptosis. Transwell assays and wound healing assay were employed to examine migration and invasion. The target relationship between miR-223-3p and RHOB was predicted by starBase online database and verified by dual-luciferase assay. The protein level of RHOB was tested by western blot. Our data suggested that miR-223-3p was upregulated in NSCLC tissues and cell lines and high level of miR-223-3p contributed to a poor survival in NSCLC patients. Knockdown of miR-223-3p exerted inhibitory effects on NSCLC cell viability, migration, and invasion and promotion effect on cell apoptosis. Furthermore, RHOB was directly targeted by miR-223-3p and constrained NSCLC progression. Moreover, knockdown of RHOB rescued the effect of anti-miR-223-3p on NSCLC progression. In vivo experiments indicated that miR-223-3p deletion suppressed tumor growth. MiR-223-3p could regulate the NSCLC cellular processes through targeting RHOB.
