This paper presents an in-depth study and analysis of the correlation between satisfaction with rural residents' income and mental health well-being in the context of industrial structure upgrading. Most of the studies on residents' subjective well-being from the perspective of relative income or income inequality have started from the happiness of rural residents and the satisfaction of rural residents' life, and few scholars have focused on the psychological health of rural residents. Subjective well-being is significantly related to external and internal goals in desire. Life satisfaction is significantly and positively correlated with external and internal goals, as well as the six dimensions of desire, except for social identity; positive emotions are significantly and positively correlated with internal goals; negative emotions are only negatively correlated with self-acceptance, and there is a significant positive correlation between income level and desire. In vertical income, there is also a process of judging whether the expected income is achieved. If the expected income growth level is achieved, the income satisfaction will increase. Desire mediates the effect of income level on subjective well-being. Income level influences subjective well-being through internal goals; income level influences life satisfaction and positive emotions through external goals. The relationship between income inequality and mental health is influenced by the characteristics of the population, with women and middle-aged people being the most negatively affected. This relationship is also influenced by income level, with the effect of income inequality on mental health showing a negative effect in the lower and middle-income groups but a positive effect in the higher income groups. Income inequality affects residents' mental health through the mediating effects of a sense of social justice, life stress, and trust in government. Balancing soil greenhouse gas emissions (SGE) with crop production is crucial for sustainable agriculture in China. Optimizing field management practices regionally can effectively promote carbon reduction and food security, given the varying SGE responses across agroecological regions. This study employed meta-analysis and machine learning techniques to assess SGE responses to nine different farming practices in seven distinct agroecological regions. It aimed to identify optimal management strategies for balancing SGE and crop production within each region. Findings underscore substantial spatial heterogeneity in the effects of management practices on SGE, with the combined use of organic and inorganic fertilizers (MOF-MF) demonstrating the most pronounced variability (standard deviation, SD = 1.80), where MOF resulted in SGE 610% of that with MF in the Southern China (SC) region, yet only 54% in Northwestern China (NWC). Conversely, straw incorporation exhibited the most minor variability (SD = 0.27), influencing SGE by 35%–62%. Additionally, the study reveals that soil and climatic conditions significantly modulate SGE responses. In scenarios characterized by humid and warm climates with soil pH ranging from 5.5 to 8.5 or initial SOC ≤10, the environmental impact on SGE was marginal. However, in highly acidic or alkaline soils or with initial SOC >10, SGE responses varied markedly with management practices in arid and cold conditions. The study further proposes agricultural management strategies to achieve the lowest SGE while maximizing crop yield. It recommends specific methods for fertilizer applications, straw management, irrigation, and tillage practices meticulously tailored to the unique conditions of each agroecological region. As the major form of antimony in the aqueous environment, the adsorption for the removal of Sb(OH) 6 - is a meaningful task. In this study, MgFe 2 O 4 -doped and iron(Ⅲ) alginate cross-linked biochar ternary composite adsorbents, Fe/(MgFeO-BC) beads, were synthesized. The typical characterization analysis showed the successful synthesis of Fe/(MgFeO-BC) beads with the significant synergistic effect on the adsorption activity of MgFe 2 O 4 , the foaming effect of BC and the dispersing effect of the bead skeleton. The adsorption experiments showed significantly increased adsorption capacity of Fe/(MgFeO-BC) compared to the comparative adsorbent with Q m = 125.65 mg/g. The adsorption was able to reach equilibrium within 350 min. At low initial Sb(OH) 6 - concentration, the adsorption of Fe/(MgFeO-BC) can still achieve the standard antimony concentration (≤0.02 mg/L), giving potential for practical applications. The introduction of MgFe 2 O 4 enhanced the adsorption capacity while imparting magnetic properties of composite beads, resulting in significant improvement in separation efficiency. The -OH in the structure of MgFe 2 O 4 is the adsorption active site of Fe/(MgFeO-BC), and the adsorption of Sb(OH) 6 - is accomplished mainly through ligand exchange and inner-sphere complexation. These results suggest that Fe/(MgFeO-BC) is a kind of promising Sb(OH) 6 - adsorbent with safe, green and recyclable properties, which provides a reference for the removal of Sb(OH) 6 - from wastewater, even at low concentrations. Rab proteins are important regulators of GLUT4 trafficking in muscle and adipose cells. It is still unclear which Rabs are involved in insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation in C2C12 myoblasts. In this study, we detect the colocalization of Rab8A with GLUT4 and the presence of Rab8A at vesicle exocytic sites by TIRFM imaging. Overexpression of dominant-negative Rab8A (T22N) diminishes insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation, while constitutively active Rab8A (Q67L) augments it. In addition, knockdown of Rab8A inhibits insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation, which is rescued by replenishment of RNAi-resistant Rab8A. Together, these results indicate an indispensable role for Rab8A in insulin-regulated GLUT4 trafficking in C2C12 cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the current complex and changeable external environment, the sustainable development of rural areas is the key to global economic and social transformation. Introducing the concept of resilience will help to tap the villages' internal potential and inject new vitality into realizing high-quality rural development. This study analyzes the rural system resilience (RRS) mechanism. It then constructs a village-scale resilience evaluation framework based on three dimensions: resources, morphology, and function. The combination of empirical research and field surveys verifies the feasibility of the analytical framework. This study constructed an analytical framework, used the catastrophe progression method and geo-detector to evaluate the RRS of 386 villages in Suining County, Jiangsu Province, and put forward a regional guidance scheme for RRS promotion based on factor characteristics. There are three key results and conclusions. First, the study combined system theory and adaptive circulation theory to analyze the connotations and mechanisms of RRS. Second, the empirical case study results show that the spatial differentiation of resilience in different dimensions is quite significant. For example, the overall resilience index is higher in the southern regions than in the northern regions of Suining County, and the polarization is obvious. Third, the study combined the dominant factors and their characteristics to construct a two-level rural zoning scheme to provide rural development strategies for different villages. The results can provide a potential approach to rural transformation development for cultivating resilient rural settlements and provide policy reference for rural land management and spatial planning. The metabolic syndrome has become one of the major public health challenges in the world, and adjusting glucose and lipid levels to their normal values is crucial for treating the metabolic syndrome. Olfactory receptors (ORs) expressed in extra‐nasal tissues participate in diverse biological processes, including the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism. Ectopic ORs can regulate a variety of metabolic events including insulin secretion, glucagon secretion, fatty acid oxidation, lipogenesis and thermogenesis. Understanding the physiological function and deciphering the olfactory recognition code by suitable ligands make ectopic ORs potential targets for the treatment of the metabolic syndrome. In this review, we delineate the roles and mechanisms of ectopic ORs in the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism, summarize the corresponding natural ligands, and discuss existing problems and the therapeutic potential of targeting ORs in the metabolic syndrome. Background: Cuproptosis is a novel copper-dependent mode of cell death that has recently been discovered. The relationship between Cuproptosis-related ncRNAs and breast cancer subtypes, however, remains to be studied. Methods: The aim of this study was to construct a breast cancer subtype prediction model associated with Cuproptosis. This model could be used to determine the subtype of breast cancer patients. To achieve this aim, 21 Cuproptosis-related genes were obtained from published articles and correlation analysis was performed with ncRNAs differentially expressed in breast cancer. Random forest algorithms were subsequently utilized to select important ncRNAs and build breast cancer subtype prediction models. Results: A total of 94 ncRNAs significantly associated with Cuproptosis were obtained and the top five essential features were chosen to build a predictive model. These five biomarkers were differentially expressed in the five breast cancer subtypes and were closely associated with immune infiltration, RNA modification, and angiogenesis. Conclusion: The random forest model constructed based on Cuproptosis-related ncRNAs was able to accurately predict breast cancer subtypes, providing a new direction for the study of clinical therapeutic targets. The quantum loss in phosphor-in-glass (PiG) and energy loss in LD/LED exciting source could aggravate the thermal load of a glass-based luminescence device. In this study, luminous efficiency of radiation (LER) and thermal shock in LuAG: Ce PiG-based remote LD/LED prototypes were regulated effectively, by controlling the exciting distance between PiG and blue LD/LED. For remote LD, both the simulated temperature and the real working temperature of LuAG: Ce-PiG were initially increased and then declined with increase of the exciting distance (the numerical difference: 9.3%). The maximum working temperature of LuAG: Ce-PiG was 135.1 °C. Remarkably, LER of LuAG: Ce-PiG was initially reduced and then elevated with increase of the exciting distance, and the obtained maximum LER was 203.97 lm/W. Meanwhile, increasing the working distance leads to the decrease of both LER and working temperature of the PiG based LED, since the excitation loss was negatively correlated to the exciting distance. Tensegrity mechanisms are lighter weight, lower inertial force and higher strength to weight ratio compared with conventional ones. This paper proposes a four-DOF automatic device for polishing the surface of a workspiece, in which a passive tensegrity-based parallel mechanism is connected to an industrial robot arm through an adjustable spring-loaded prismatic joint. The device consists of moving and base platforms that are connected by three compliant spring legs and one rigid central leg. A major advantage of this device is that attitude of polishing tool mounted on the moving platform can be changed automatically to fit the polished workspiece surface without any sensors, due to the three compliant spring legs. The kinematics, statics and stiffness problems of the mechanism are considered and solved. Finally, an experiment is executed on the surface of a discarded car shell, to verify the reliability of the polishing device within ranges of some parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Disulfidptosis is a newly discovered mode of cell death. However, its relationship with breast cancer subtypes remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to construct a disulfidptosis-associated breast cancer subtype prediction model. We obtained 19 disulfidptosis-related genes from published articles and performed correlation analysis with lncRNAs differentially expressed in breast cancer. We then used the random forest algorithm to select important lncRNAs and establish a breast cancer subtype prediction model. We identified 132 lncRNAs significantly associated with disulfidptosis (FDR < 0.01, |R|> 0.15) and selected the first four important lncRNAs to build a prediction model (training set AUC = 0.992). The model accurately predicted breast cancer subtypes (test set AUC = 0.842). Among the key lncRNAs, LINC02188 had the highest expression in the Basal subtype, while LINC01488 and GATA3-AS1 had the lowest expression in Basal. In the Her2 subtype, LINC00511 had the highest expression level compared to other key lncRNAs. GATA3-AS1 had the highest expression in LumA and LumB subtypes, while LINC00511 had the lowest expression in these subtypes. In the Normal subtype, GATA3-AS1 had the highest expression level compared to other key lncRNAs. Our study also found that key lncRNAs were closely related to RNA methylation modification and angiogenesis (FDR < 0.05, |R|> 0.1), as well as immune infiltrating cells (P.adj < 0.01, |R|> 0.1). Two new coordination polymers, namely poly[[hexathiocyanatotetrakis{μ3‐2,4,6‐trimethyl‐1,3,5‐tris[(triazol‐1‐yl)methyl]benzene}tricadmium(II)] 3.5‐hydrate], {[Cd3(SCN)6(C18H21N9)4]·3.5H2O}n (1), and poly[[hexathiocyanatotetrakis{μ3‐2,4,6‐trimethyl‐1,3,5‐tris[(triazol‐1‐yl)methyl]benzene}trizinc(II)] 3.5‐hydrate], {[Zn3(SCN)6(C18H21N9)4]·3.5H2O}n (2), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. From the X‐ray analysis, it is noteworthy that polymers 1 and 2 are isostructural, with their three‐dimensional structures composed of three kinds of four‐connection metal ions and two kinds of three‐connection 2,4,6‐trimethyl‐1,3,5‐tris[(triazol‐1‐yl)methyl]benzene (TTTMB) ligand nodes. Each metal ion is six‐coordinated in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The antioxidant activity against DPPH (2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl) and the antidiabetic activity against α‐amylase of the synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro. The results of the DPPH free‐radical scavenging assay showed that polymers 1 and 2 exhibited strong antioxidant effects, with IC50 values of 3.81 and 2.56 mg ml−1, respectively. The IC50 value in the antidiabetic studies of polymer 1 was 3.94 mg ml−1, while polymer 2 exhibited no antidiabetic activity. Polymers 1 and 2 revealed different inhibitory activities on DPPH and α‐amylase, which indicated that the metal ions play important roles in the biological activity of coordination polymers. In complex battlefield environments, flying ad-hoc network (FANET) faces challenges in manually extracting communication interference signal features, a low recognition rate in strong noise environments, and an inability to recognize unknown interference types. To solve these problems, one simple non-local correction shrinkage (SNCS) module is constructed. The SNCS module modifies the soft threshold function in the traditional denoising method and embeds it into the neural network, so that the threshold can be adjusted adaptively. Local importance-based pooling (LIP) is introduced to enhance the useful features of interference signals and reduce noise in the downsampling process. Moreover, the joint loss function is constructed by combining the cross-entropy loss and center loss to jointly train the model. To distinguish unknown class interference signals, the acceptance factor is proposed. Meanwhile, the acceptance factor-based unknown class recognition simplified non-local residual shrinkage network (AFUCR-SNRSN) model with the capacity for both known and unknown class recognition is constructed by combining AFUCR and SNRSN. Experimental results show that the recognition accuracy of the AFUCR-SNRSN model is the highest in the scenario of a low jamming to noise ratio (JNR). The accuracy is increased by approximately 4–9% compared with other methods on known class interference signal datasets, and the recognition accuracy reaches 99% when the JNR is −6 dB. Uncultivable microorganisms account for over 99% of all species on the planet, but their functions are yet not well characterized. Though many cultivable degraders for n-alkanes have been intensively investigated, the roles of functional n-alkane degraders remain hidden in the natural environment. This study introduces the novel magnetic nanoparticle-mediated isolation (MMI) technology in Nigerian soils and successfully separates functional microbes belonging to the families Oxalobacteraceae and Moraxellaceae , which are dominant and responsible for alkane metabolism in situ. The alkR -type n-alkane monooxygenase genes, instead of alkA- or alkP- type, were the key functional genes involved in the n-alkane degradation process. Further physiological investigation via a BIOLOG PM plate revealed some carbon (Tween 20, Tween 40 and Tween 80) and nitrogen (tyramine, l -glutamine and d -aspartic acid) sources promoting microbial respiration and n-alkane degradation. With further addition of promoter carbon or nitrogen sources, the separated functional alkane degraders significantly improved n-alkane biodegradation rates. This suggests that MMI is a promising technology for separating functional microbes from complex microbiota, with deeper insight into their ecological functions and influencing factors. Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease caused by an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure during a long period and is characterized by adipose tissue disfunction and hepatic steatosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 4-methylesculetin (4-ME), a coumarin derivative, upon adipose microenvironment and hepatic steatosis in mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD), and to explore potential mechanisms of its beneficial effect on metabolic disorders. HFD-fed mice displayed visceral obesity, insulin resistance, and hepatic lipid accumulation, which was remarkably ameliorated by 4-ME treatment. Meanwhile, 4-ME ameliorated adipocyte hypertrophy, macrophage infiltration, hypoxia, and fibrosis in epididymal adipose tissue, thus improving the adipose tissue microenvironment. Furthermore, 4-ME reversed the increase in CD36, PPAR-γ, SREBP-1, and FASN, and the decrease in CPT-1A, PPAR-α, and Nrf2 translocation into the nucleus in livers of HFD mice and in FFA-incubated hepatocytes. Moreover, the beneficial effects of 4-ME upon lipid deposition and the expression of proteins related to lipid metabolism in FFA-induced LO2 cells were abolished by ML385, a specific Nrf2 inhibitor, indicating that Nrf2 is necessary for 4-ME to reduce hepatic lipid deposition. Background: Bovine parainfluenza virus type 3 (BPIV3) infection often causes respiratory tissue damage and immunosuppression and further results in bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC), one of the major diseases in dairy cattle, caused huge economical losses every year. However, the pathogenetic and immunoregulatory mechanisms involved in the process of BPIV3 infection remain unknown. Proteomics is a powerful tool for high-throughput identification of proteins, which has been widely used to understand how viruses interact with host cells. Methods: In the present study, we report a proteomic analysis to investigate the whole cellular protein alterations of MDBK cells infected with BPIV3. To investigate the infection process of BPIV3 and the immune response mechanism of MDBK cells, isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation analysis (iTRAQ) and Q-Exactive mass spectrometry-based proteomics were performed. The differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) involved in the BPIV3 invasion process in MDBK cells were identified, annotated, and quantitated. Results: A total of 116 proteins, which included 74 upregulated proteins and 42 downregulated proteins, were identified as DEPs between the BPIV3-infected and the mock-infected groups. These DEPs included corresponding proteins related to inflammatory response, immune response, and lipid metabolism. These results might provide some insights for understanding the pathogenesis of BPIV3. Fluorescent quantitative PCR and western blotting analysis showed results consistent with those of iTRAQ identification. Interestingly, the upregulated protein MKK3 was associated with the p38 MAPK signaling pathway. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) represents a complex complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Oxymatrine (OMT) is an alkaloid extracted from Sophora flavescens with broad pharmacological effects. However, there is currently a lack of research on OMT in the field of NAFLD. The present study aimed to explore the effects and underlying mechanisms of oxymatrine in treating T2DM with NAFLD. The T2DM mice model was induced by high-fat diet (HFD) combined with streptozotocin (STZ) injection in male C57BL/6 J mice. Animals were randomly divided into four groups (n = 8): Control group, DC group, OMT-L group (45 mg/kg i.g.), and OMT-H group (90 mg/kg, i.g.). The drug was administered once a day for 8 weeks. In addition, HepG2 hepatocytes were incubated with palmitic acid (PA) to establish a fatty liver cell model. Treated with OMT, the body weight and fasting blood glucose (FBG) of DC mice were reduced and the liver organ coefficient was significantly optimized. Meanwhile, OMT markedly enhanced the activities of key antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and also reduced malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. These biochemical alterations were accompanied by noticeable improvements in liver histopathology. Furthermore, OMT down-regulated the expression of NOD-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and collagen I significantly, highlighting its potential in modulating inflammatory and fibrotic pathways. In conclusion, OMT improved liver impairment effectively in diabetic mice by suppressing oxidative stress, inflammation and fibrosis. These results suggest that OMT may represent a novel therapy for NAFLD with diabetes. Analysis of land use efficiency (LUE) integrating stakeholders' vision for the coordinated development among agriculture, economy and ecology can provide a harmonized avenue for localized and efficient resource management strategies. In this research, a new analysis framework for LUE integrating stakeholders' vision was proposed, and further applied to Jiangsu Province, a typical region with rapid urbanization in eastern China, to systematically explore the coupling and coordination relationship among multiple land use efficiencies in agriculture, economy and ecology and its driving factors. Results showed that: (1) Most areas of Jiangsu failed to meet the land-use stakeholders' vision in terms of agricultural production, economic development, and ecological maintenance during 2000–2018, with an average improvement potential of 26.84%, 30.27% and 36.58% respectively at the township level; (2) Interactions among multiple land use efficiencies in 2000–2018 were developing towards coordination in terms of temporal evolution, spatial association, and interaction types and their spatial transformations, but overall they were still at a medium level of coordination; (3) Economic factors had a certain priority for the coordinated development of multiple efficiencies, but they mostly played negative roles, while both agricultural factors and ecological factors mostly played positive roles. This study should be useful in assisting stakeholders to proactively focus on specific solutions for more effective land resource management and decision-making, and identify which land use behaviors should be encouraged or prohibited for the future coordination among agriculture, economy and ecology. Previous studies presented various beneficial effects of mogrosides extract from Siraitia grosvenorii, which has been included in the list of Medicine Food Homology Species in China. Mogroside V (MV) is one of the main ingredients in mogrosides extract; however, whether and how MV improves impaired lipid metabolism in the liver remains to be elucidated. Herein, we investigated the therapeutic effects of mogroside V upon hepatic steatosis in vivo and in vitro and explored the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that MV significantly ameliorated hepatic steatosis in high-fat diet- (HFD-) fed mice. Furthermore, the increased protein expression of PPAR-γ, SREBP-1, and FASN and mRNA expression of pparg, srebp1, scd1, and fasn in the liver in HFD-fed mice, which contribute to de novo lipogenesis, were dose-dependently reversed by MV treatment. Meanwhile, MV counteracted the suppressed expression of PPAR-α and CPT-1A and mRNA expression of atgl, hsl, ppara, and cpt1a, thus increasing lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation. In addition, in free fatty acids- (FFAs-) incubated LO2 cells MV downregulated de novo lipogenesis and upregulated lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation, thereby attenuating lipid accumulation, which was significantly abrogated by treatment with Compound C, an inhibitor of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). Taken together, these results suggested that MV exerted a pronounced effect upon improving hepatic steatosis through regulating the disequilibrium of lipid metabolism in the liver via an AMPK-dependent pathway, providing a potential lead compound candidate for preventing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Sarcopenia is a progressive syndrome that results in a decline in skeletal muscle mass and strength. This affects patients' quality of life and increases the risk of falls and fractures, particularly among the elderly. With the aging of the population and the increasing number of patients with modern chronic diseases, the prevalence and complications of sarcopenia have increased, involving Akt-mediated signaling pathways, mitochondrial activity, satellite cell differentiation, inflammation and so on. Ginseng is a traditional herb medicine with extremely high medicinal value and possesses multiple pharmacological effects. This article summarizes such impacts of ginseng extracts and active ingredients on sarcopenia, and analyzes their related signaling pathways, so as to provide a reference for future research regarding the application of ginseng and ginsenosides as a potential therapy for sarcopenia. The stem cell niche in the root meristem plays a critical role during the development of plant root systems. The polar cell-to-cell transport generates the distribution maximum of the phytohormone auxin that plays a critical role during growth and patterning of roots. Recently, the transcription factor WOX5 (WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX 5) was identified as a master regulator of root stem cell niche patterning. Here, we demonstrate that WOX5 coordinates local auxin production and thus controls spatial restriction and maintenance of the auxin maximum in the quiescent center (QC) of the root. In turn, this root-associated auxin maximum feeds back on WOX5 expression via IAA17-dependent regulation of auxin responses. Both our experimental studies and in silico computer modeling simulations suggest that the feedback circuit between WOX5 activity and auxin signaling maximum is at the heart of auxin-mediated root patterning.In plants, the patterning of stem cell-enriched meristems requires a graded auxin response maximum that emerges from the concerted action of polar auxin transport, auxin biosynthesis, auxin metabolism, and cellular auxin response machinery. However, mechanisms underlying this auxin response maximum-mediated root stem cell maintenance are not fully understood. Here, we present unexpected evidence that WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX 5 (WOX5) transcription factor modulates expression of auxin biosynthetic genes in the quiescent center (QC) of the root and thus provides a robust mechanism for the maintenance of auxin response maximum in the root tip. This WOX5 action is balanced through the activity of indole-3-acetic acid 17 (IAA17) auxin response repressor. Our combined genetic, cell biology, and computational modeling studies revealed a previously uncharacterized feedback loop linking WOX5-mediated auxin production to IAA17-dependent repression of auxin responses. This WOX5–IAA17 feedback circuit further assures the maintenance of auxin response maximum in the root tip and thereby contributes to the maintenance of distal stem cell (DSC) populations. Our experimental studies and in silico computer simulations both demonstrate that the WOX5–IAA17 feedback circuit is essential for the maintenance of auxin gradient in the root tip and the auxin-mediated root DSC differentiation. Ecological transformation is an inevitable trend for the development of land consolidation (LC) worldwide, and the research on carbon effect of LC is an important theoretical basis for promoting the construction of Eco-LC. However, there is currently a lack of analysis of the carbon effect based on the whole process of LC, ignoring the stage elements and temporal factors. This study applied Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method to construct a research framework and accounting system for carbon footprint assessment of LC, and explored the carbon effect in a typical land consolidation project area (LCPA) of China. Results showed that: (a) The carbon effect of the project area was characterized as carbon emission during the whole life cycle of LC. Carbon footprint before and after LC was 3.251 tCE·ha−1·a−1 and 2.401 tCE·ha−1·a−1 respectively. The carbon storage reduced and the carbon footprint is declined by 0.850 tCE·ha−1·a−1. (b) Carbon effect varied among different stages of LC. The Benefit Period (BP) was the only stage that was manifested as carbon absorption (−14.65%), while all the other stages were manifested as carbon emission. Among them, as to the carbon emission, the Construction Period (CP) played a decisive role with the most proportion (102.74%), followed by DP and RP, and the carbon effect of PP was negligible. (c) The dominant factors of carbon effect at different stages were also different. During CP, cement contributed the most to the carbon emission in this case. During RP, carbon sequestration effect of cropland proved to be the most significant. During RP, the carbon sequestration effect of cultivated land and the carbon emission effect of unused land were the most prominent. During BP, the carbon sequestration capacity of farmland ecosystems proved to be greater than the carbon emissions from agricultural activities. This study contributes to providing certain theoretical guidance and method reference for the realization of Low-Carbon LC project planning, with this comprehensive and reliable method. The phytohormone auxin controls plant growth and development via TIR1‐dependent protein degradation of canonical AUX/IAA proteins, which normally repress the activity of auxin response transcription factors (ARFs). IAA33 is a non‐canonical AUX/IAA protein lacking a TIR1‐binding domain, and its role in auxin signaling and plant development is not well understood. Here, we show that IAA33 maintains root distal stem cell identity and negatively regulates auxin signaling by interacting with ARF10 and ARF16. IAA33 competes with the canonical AUX/IAA repressor IAA5 for binding to ARF10/16 to protect them from IAA5‐mediated inhibition. In contrast to auxin‐dependent degradation of canonical AUX/IAA proteins, auxin stabilizes IAA33 protein via MITOGEN‐ACTIVATED PROTEIN KINASE 14 (MPK14) and does not affect IAA33 gene expression. Taken together, this study provides insight into the molecular functions of non‐canonical AUX/IAA proteins in auxin signaling transduction. Synopsis: IAA33, a non‐canonical AUX/IAA without typical domains I and II, negatively regulates auxin response through the competition with IAA5, a canonical AUX/IAA, and thus releases the repression of ARF10/16.
