The protracted conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas group, culminating with an Israeli offensive in October 2023, has caused significant suffering to the Palestinian people. The response to the attack, including international support and a fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), has prompted Indonesians to boycott products linked to Israel. This study aims to investigate the effect of religiosity, animosity and ethnocentrism on the motivation for boycotting Unilever Indonesia products related to the company's commitment to Israel, focusing on these factors. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with the SEM-PLS approach. The application used is SmartPLS version 4.0.0 with sample data used by 162 respondents through the distribution of questionnaires. The results show that the variables religiosity, consumer animosity and ethnocentrism have a positive and significant influence on the motivation to boycott Unilever Indonesia products. These findings highlight the importance of paying attention to psychological and social factors in the analysis of consumer behavior and their impact on companies and society at large. It also suggests that companies must take into account the social and political implications of their policies, as well as understand the values and beliefs underlying consumers' motivations for boycotting.

Pteridophyte classification has undergone many changes both from morphology as well as phylogeny aspects. Thus, a variety of learning experiences are required to promote understanding on concepts and managing learning activities--this study aimed at determining the impact of CIRGI and CirGi Unification on students' metacognitive skills. A quasi-experiment was applied with pre-post control group design. The sample used was 70 students of Botany Phanerogam class at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Indonesia. Data was collected with metacognitive skills, student questionnaire responses to learning, and observation sheet of syntax implementation. The metacognitive test instrument was verified as valid and reliable. One-way ANCOVA was used as data analysis technique. This study's conclusion revealed that there was an influence of CIRC and CirGi unification on the student's metacognitive skills. The influence was higher compared to those using conventional learning models.

The iron and steel industry is of great strategic importance in Indonesia and is expected to continue its growth. One sector within this industry that is projected to see increased production is the steel pipe manufacturing sector. However, the significant emissions produced during steel pipe production have prompted many countries to seek ways to reduce these emissions. One such method is the implementation of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) technique, which assesses the environmental impact and serves as a valuable decision-making tool alongside other important methods. This approach aims to enhance sustainable production and consumption effectively and efficiently. In a specific case study, two types of steel pipe products were analyzed using LCA, focusing on various stages from material transportation to steel pipe production and delivery. The study assessed the environmental impact using the midpoint impact category, which includes factors like Global Warming Potential (GWP), Photochemical Ozone Creation Potential (POCP), Acidification Potential (AP), and Ecological Toxicity Potential (ETP) using the CML2001 characterization methods. The findings revealed that the production of SAWH pipes has a higher environmental impact in terms of GWP, AP, and POCP compared to HFW pipes, while HFW pipes had a greater ETP value. GWP was identified as the most significant potential impact for both products, with the pipeline production stage contributing the most to GWP. Overall, these results offer an initial understanding of the sustainability levels of steel pipe production, serving as a foundation for the development of pollution control measures to maintain the competitiveness of the industrial plant.

Welding activities contribute to Indoor Air Pollution (IAP), and without proper control measures, they can pose health risks to workers. The goal of this research is to analyze indoor air quality, including CO, CO2, humidity, temperature, Total Suspended Particulate (TSP), and heavy metal composition, during 8 hours of welding activities. This study employed an experimental method using personal dust monitoring equipment worn by workers during 8 hour welding shifts. Environmental parameters such as CO2, CO, temperature, and humidity were measured using Si-AQ Pro. The results indicated that CO2, CO, temperature, and humidity concentrations in location 1 were higher than in location 2 but remained below the permissible exposure limits based on occupational health and safety regulations (Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Regulation No. 13/Year/x/2011) for carbon monoxide. The dominant heavy metal exposures during welding were Fe and Zn, with other heavy metals including Al, Ca, Ti, Cr, Mn, Cu, Zn, and Pb. These nine heavy metals remained below the ACGIH threshold limits. In conclusion, preventive measures such as improved ventilation can effectively reduce indoor air pollutant concentrations.

A mobile air quality monitoring study in Jakarta was undertaken in 2022 by the Clean Air Catalyst consortium, in partnership with Google Earth Outreach and Aclima, taking air pollution measurements using four specially equipped Google Street View cars. This study aims to map street-level PM2.5 pollution in a set of neighborhoods (polygons) throughout Jakarta to evaluate the variability caused by local emission sources and to observe the exposure to air pollution in areas with different income levels. To address these aims, we monitored the concentration five days a week, 8 am to 5 pm, from September to December in eight polygons, stratified to include high and low-income areas. The cars covered a distance of 7,750 km and at least 22 visits per location. PM2.5 concentrations were measured at 1-second intervals using a light-scattering sensor. This high-resolution data collection allowed for detailed monitoring and analysis of concentrations in the study area. The measurements showed temporal variability consistent with meteorological and activity patterns in Jakarta, with higher measured concentrations in the morning compared to the afternoon at most polygons. Median concentrations varied by 2x - >5x within individual polygons, and this variability was particularly evident in the northern part of Jakarta, encompassing both high-income and low-income neighborhoods, where these areas are significantly affected by traffic and industrial activities. The results demonstrate the extent to which PM2.5 concentrations and exposures within Jakarta neighborhoods depend on proximity to local air pollution sources.

Final disposal Bantargebang is the largest final disposal in Indonesia which is located in the city of Bekasi with the DKI Jakarta service area. DKI Jakarta’s waste generation in September 2022 is 5948,98 tons/day to 8773,76 tons/day, due to limited land issues and DKI Jakarta’s high waste generation every day. DKI Jakarta needs waste management and determination of the right technology. Mapping waste generation aims to display visual data on waste distribution, to facilitate the determination of DKI Jakarta waste management policies both from sources and at final disposal. Clustering uses the K-mean method using 40,514 data sets of waste generation. The real data on waste generation was obtained from recording directly at the final disposal Bantargebang weighbridge facility with waste sources from DKI Jakarta (West Jakarta, East Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta and North Jakarta) for 30 working days with operating hours 24 hours/day. An average waste generation was obtained of 7,512 tonnes/day with a total of 1301 trucks/day. The number of clusters obtained was 3 with 43 members, where cluster 0 had 20 members, cluster 1 had 14 members and cluster 2 had 9 members and the distance performance value showed 0.399.

Plastic is a material that is widely used in everyday life. It can be degraded into small-sized fragments (< 5 mm) called microplastics (MPs). Research on MPs has primarily focused on the aquatic environment, while studies on airborne MPs (AMPs) are still in their early stages. In this study, AMPs at two locations (Bandung (Indonesia) and Osaka (Japan)) were characterized by attenuated total imaging and micro-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, as a preliminary study. The concentrations of AMPs in total suspended particulates (TSP) in Bandung and Osaka ranged from 1.03 to 14.27 particles/m3 and from 0.63 to 3.29 particles/m3, respectively. AMPs in both locations were fragmented, with dominant Feret diameters ranging from 1 to 20 μm.

This study aim to determine motorcycle exhaust emissions and emission factors on urban roads using unintrusive roadside remote sensing equipment, specifically the ETC M752 type version 3.1 from 2020. The research gathered 1012 valid and identified vehicle samples from five locations, comprising four in Jakarta and one in Bandung. The results unveiled median motorcycle emissions: CO2 (13.90%), CO (1.42%), smoke (0%), HC (1499 ppm), and NOx (2447 ppm). These measurements were recorded at an average speed of 21.81 km/h with an average acceleration of 0.05 m/s². Meanwhile the emission factors determined from this study were: 46.50 g/km, 1.95 g/km, 0 g/km, 0.22 g/km, and 0.46 g/km for CO2, CO, soot, HC, and NOx, respectively. An increase in the production year of motorcycles led to a significant reduction in exhaust emissions and emission factors. Across all production year categories, CO and HC emissions remained within acceptable thresholds. CO and HC emission factors already meet Euro 3 standards, while the NOx emission factor still does not meet the standard. Enhancing engine cylinder capacity resulted in a slight uptick in motorcycle exhaust emissions and emission factors. Specifically, the CO and HC emissions on Yamaha motorcycles are lower compared to Honda, while the NOx emissions on Yamaha motorcycles are higher compared to Honda. However, both brands have met Euro 3 standards for CO and HC but not for NOx.

This work aims to create a resistive sensor array for categorizing coffee from various plantations. A mixture of graphene oxide and a conductive polymer is used to create the sensor array. Eight types of sensors were made by dripping various mixtures of graphene oxide, polypyrrole, polyaniline, and poly acetate materials on the interdigitated electrode. Coffee fragrance gas was used for the sensor array test. The surface of the sensor array receives the scent gas created by the brewing of coffee grinds. Each sensor’s response profile is recorded. Each coffee sample has a distinct sensor response profile for simple separation with a distinct pattern. PCA analysis was used to examine sensor responses in order to find classification patterns of coffee samples from diverse plantations that were separated by brewing category. Sensor response data underwent PCA analysis, yielding scores of 54.74% PC1 and 26.17% PC2. These findings suggest that graphene-based and conducting polymer sensor array have a good potential for quick differentiation of different coffee varieties.

Anxiety often occurs in maternity mothers and not being treated will have an impact on the mother's physical and psychological. As many as 9% of mothers who experience anxiety will increase pain and result in a long labor process. Therefore, it is necessary to take action by the midwife to control anxiety so that the delivery process runs smoothly. SEFT is a psycho-religious therapy that can reduce maternal anxiety without causing side effects. To determine the effect of SEFT on anxiety in maternity mothers during the active phase I. This is pre-experimental research with one group pre-post-test design. This study used purposive sampling. The statistical test used the dependent t-test. The average anxiety score before SEFT therapy was 24.44, with a minimum score was 20 and a maximum score was 29. The average anxiety score after SEFT therapy was 19.06, with a minimum score was 14 and a maximum score was 25. The results of the dependent t-test showed a p-value 0.000 (0.05) which means that there is a difference in the average anxiety score before and after the application of SEFT. There is an effect of the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) on reducing maternal anxiety scores during the Active Phase I in the Dempet Health Center Work Area. The application of SEFT can increase the relaxation that can be obtained from conditions of solemnity, sincerity, resignation, confidence, and gratitude so that mothers can produce responses that can reduce anxiety during the delivery process.

This work reports the first ground-based atmospheric measurements of 26 halocarbons in Singapore, an urban-industrial city-state in Southeast (SE) Asia. A total of 166 whole air canister samples collected during two intensive 7 Southeast Asian Studies (7SEAS) campaigns (August-October 2011 and 2012) were analyzed for C1-C2 halocarbons using gas chromatography-electron capture/mass spectrometric detection. The halocarbon dataset was supplemented with measurements of selected non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHCs), C1-C5 alkyl nitrates, sulfur gases and carbon monoxide to better understand sources and atmospheric processes. The median observed atmospheric mixing ratios of CFCs, halons, CCl4 and CH3CCl3 were close to global tropospheric background levels, with enhancements in the 1-17% range. This provided the first measurement evidence from SE Asia of the effectiveness of Montreal Protocol and related national-scale regulations instituted in the 1990s to phase-out ozone depleting substances (ODS). First- and second-generation CFC replacements (HCFCs and HFCs) dominated the atmospheric halocarbon burden with HFC-134a, HCFC-22 and HCFC-141b exhibiting enhancements of 39-67%. By combining near-source measurements in Indonesia with receptor data in Singapore, regionally transported peat-forest burning smoke was found to impact levels of several NMHCs (ethane, ethyne, benzene, and propane) and short-lived halocarbons (CH3I, CH3Cl, and CH3Br) in a subset of the receptor samples. The strong signatures of these species near peat-forest fires were potentially affected by atmospheric dilution/mixing during transport and by mixing with substantial urban/regional backgrounds at the receptor. Quantitative source apportionment was carried out using positive matrix factorization (PMF), which identified industrial emissions related to refrigeration, foam blowing, and solvent use in chemical, pharmaceutical and electronics industries as the major source of halocarbons (34%) in Singapore. This was followed by marine and terrestrial biogenic activity (28%), residual levels of ODS from pre-Montreal Protocol operations (16%), seasonal incidences of peat-forest smoke (13%), and fumigation related to quarantine and pre-shipment (QPS) applications (7%).

Hand sanitizer is an essential item during the COVID-19 pandemic, posing potential side effects when containing synthetic ingredients. Therefore, this study aimed to replace hand sanitizer formulation with Citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon nardus L.). Essential oil was fractioned into 3 components, namely F1 (67.07% of limonene), F2 (92.39% of citronellal), and F3 (62.41% of geraniol) while evaluation was conducted on antibacterial properties against E. coli. Antibacterial test was performed using the well diffusion method, showing inhibition zone diameters of 7.40, 10.76, and 8.30 mm for F1 to F3 fractions, respectively. The results showed that F2, selected as the reference for hand sanitizer formulation, had the most potential antibacterial activity and a MIC of 3.125%. Comparative test with commercial alternatives, including hedonic, characteristic, and antibacterial activity test, were conducted to assess the formulated hand sanitizer. F2 was discovered to have an inhibition zone diameter of 29.56 mm as opposed to 9.06 mm of commercial hand sanitizer. Quantifying the co-benefits of renewable energy investments can aid policymakers in identifying technologies capable of generating significant social, economic, and environmental benefits to effectively offset mitigation costs. Although there has been a growing body of work evaluating co-benefits, few studies have compared the potential co-benefits of several technologies across different regions in key countries. This study fills this gap by formulating a new modeling structure to assess the environmental–health–economic co-benefits of hybrid renewable energy systems (HRESs) in different parts of Indonesia. The proposed model is unique in that it incorporates various techno-economic activities to assess air quality, health, and economic benefits and then presents results as part of a cost–benefit analysis. From the intervention scenario, the modeling results show that installing 0.5 GW grid-connected solar PV, 100 MW of wind turbines, and a 100 MW biomass generator to cover a total of 1.64 million residential load units in the Bali province can avoid GHGs, PM2.5, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and provide health savings of 1.73 Mt/y, 289.02 t/y, 1648, and 6.16 million USD/y, respectively. In addition, it shows that the payback period is enhanced by one year, while the net present value is increased by 28%. In Jakarta, a 3 GW solar PV plant and a 100 MW biomass generator that supply 5.8 million residential load units can deliver 32,490 averted DALYs and 652.81 million USD/y of health care savings. Nationally, the contribution of renewable energy to the electricity supply mix could grow from the 2020 baseline of 18.85% to 26.93%, reducing dependence on oil and coal contribution by 5.32%. A natural pumice stone stone coated with manganese (Mn) has been prepared and utilized to remove hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) ions in water via adsorption process. Prior to the application, the natural pumice was ground, sieved, and immerse in a dilute HCl solution. The coating of Mn on the acid-activated pumice was carried out by soaking the powder in 0.5 M Mn(NO3)2 solution for 72 h. The characterisation of the produced pumice adsorbent was performed with scanning electron microscopy and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy instruments. The adsorption of Cr(VI) onto Mn-coated pumices was optimum at pH 3. Both the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models could be used to describe the adsorption process. The rate of adsorption followed the model for pseudosecond- order kinetics. The maximum adsorption capacity of Mn-coated pumice towards Cr(VI) ions was 1.94 mg/g.z. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
