1. The Effects of COVID-19 in the Learning Process of Primary School Students: A Systematic Review

Abstract

(1) Background: A variety of social and economic changes are happening worldwide due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, which has produced new problems and challenges for the population as a whole. These events demand new investigations and key studies for their management. This review addresses the repercussions of COVID-19 at the educational level in the primary education stage, delving into the effects produced in teaching and different aspects related to it, such as the situation and challenges of teachers, family involvement, and the perceptions and repercussions of the learning and socio-educational development of students (especially in the case of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder). (2) Methods: The methodological design is a systematic review study, following the PRISMA guidelines, from a search carried out during the month of July 2021 in the Scopus, Dialnet, and WoS databases on the object of study. (3) Results: The selected studies were analyzed through a qualitative content analysis based on a population of 103 articles, with a final sample of 13, using the inclusion criteria: empirical studies or research in English or Spanish; free access through the Internet; categories restricted to "education/educational research" related to the proposed objectives; specific documents of the primary education stage and/or students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. (4) Conclusions: The research reveals the presence of an existing digital gap in certain sectors of the student population aggravated by the pandemic, as well as the scarcity of general teacher training in this type of situation, leading to different personal and professional problems that hinder teaching and emphasize the vulnerability of the right to education, which leads to further promoting the already existing social inequalities.

2. Digital Education and Artistic-Visual Learning in Flexible University Environments: Research Analysis

Abstract

The constant development of digital technologies has allowed living in a digital environment based on connections, also transforming the context of the educational process. Experiences show that digital technologies have influenced the way of learning and, consequently, the way of teaching. Learning in the digital age is a complex process since it is a multifaceted and diverse action. The aim of this research is to identify global trends in digital education and its link with the learning of artistic and visual education in higher education settings, during the period 2000-2019. For this, bibliometric techniques have been applied to 1291 documents, obtaining results from the scientific activity of the main authors, research institutions, and countries that promote this topic. The data show increasing relevance, particularly in the last three years. The main subject area is the social sciences. The study has detected the lines of research that are related to the Internet, education, visuals, computer programs, learning, digital media literacy, and educational technology. This work contributes to the academic, scientific, and institutional debate to enhance decision-making based on existing information.

3. The Role of L2 and Cultural Mediation in the Inclusion of Immigrant Students in Italian Schools

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this research is to analyze the perception of teachers and their thinking about two specific and functional issues which are often deemed to be controversial, that is, the acquisition, by recently arrived migrant students of the host language and the role that the professional services of a cultural mediator may have in said school context. The methodology used has been a case study by means of the technique of in-depth interview. To this end, twelve teachers from an Italian comprehensive school in the region of Sicily who for several years have been immersed in the relatively abrupt arrival of immigrant students have been interviewed. Results: There is evidence of some teachers adopting the position from a classic epistemological approach in the field of interculturality. For example, while the attitude and involvement of teachers seems to be consolidated, the teachers think that a key element of real inclusion should include practical measures such as early immersion in the host language, in this case Italian, and that considerable and external professional efforts are necessary, particularly from cultural mediators, which could make the inclusive project more viable.

Abstract

Caffeine, commonly found in coffee and tea, affects various aspects of eye health as it blocks adenosine receptors, impacting tear production, intraocular pressure, macular perfusion, and choroidal thickness. However, its connection with eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts remains uncertain due to conflicting research findings. Some studies suggest potential benefits for cataracts, while others warn against frequent caffeine intake in glaucoma and surgical scenarios due to possible increases in intraocular pressure. Conflicting evidence also exists regarding its effects on dry eye, macular degeneration, myopia/hyperopia, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and central serous retinopathy. Caffeine does not seem to be a risk factor for dry eye, although studies have shown that caffeine may offer protection against wet age-related macular degeneration, and the metabolite 7-methylxanthine could be a more promising treatment for myopia. Moreover, caffeine can potentially cause tremors and might hinder surgical performance, especially in less experienced surgeons. Recommendations from experts vary, highlighting the need for further research to fully understand how caffeine affects the eye. Individuals genetically predisposed to glaucoma should be cautious due to the possibility of clinically significant elevations in intraocular pressure with caffeine consumption. For delicate procedures like microsurgery, where tremors can be detrimental, caution should be exercised with caffeine. Abstract

Background: Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of hereditary retinal dystrophies characterized by progressive degeneration of photoreceptor cells, which results in debilitating visual impairment. This systematic review aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of emerging treatment modalities for RP, including gene therapy, mesenchymal-cell-based approaches, and supplementary interventions. Methods: A comprehensive search of electronic databases was conducted to identify relevant studies published up to February 2024. Studies reporting outcomes of treatment interventions for RP, including randomized controlled trials, non-randomized studies, and case series, were included. Data extraction and synthesis were performed according to predefined criteria, focusing on assessing the quality of evidence and summarizing key findings. Results: The search yielded 13 studies meeting inclusion criteria, encompassing diverse treatment modalities and study designs. Gene therapy emerged as a promising therapeutic approach, with several studies reporting favorable outcomes regarding visual function preservation and disease stabilization. Mesenchymal-cell-based therapies also demonstrated potential benefits, although evidence remains limited and heterogeneous. Supplementary interventions, including nutritional supplements and neuroprotective agents, exhibited variable efficacy, with conflicting findings across studies. Conclusions: Despite the lack of definitive curative treatments, emerging therapeutic modalities promise to slow disease progression and preserve visual function in individuals with RP. However, substantial gaps in evidence and heterogeneity in study methodologies underscore the need for further research to elucidate optimal treatment strategies, refine patient selection criteria, and enhance long-term outcomes. This systematic review provides a comprehensive synthesis of current evidence and highlights directions for future research to advance the care and management of individuals with RP. 10. The creepy, the bad and the ugly: exploring perceptions of moral character and social desirability in uncanny faces

Abstract

We used implicit and explicit measures to study whether “real” uncanny faces (by faces of Botox users and very ugly people) will be associated with perceptions of bad moral character and social avoidance. Implicit measures showed that uncanny faces were more strongly associated with negative aesthetic evaluations (“ugliness”) than with negative moral evaluation (“moral disgust”). At the explicit level, participants preferred greater social distance from uncanny faces than from neutral faces and inferred that they shared fewer moral values with uncanny faces than with neutral faces. Contrary to our hypotheses, only Ugly faces (but not Botox faces) were perceived as more likely to commit behaviors that indicate bad moral character. However, when this analysis was restricted to “sick” immoral actions, Botox faces were perceived as more likely to be engage in these kind of behaviors than neutral faces. Although exploratory in nature, this investigation suggest that ugliness (more than creepiness) may be the crucial evaluative dimension underlying rapid moral inferences from faces.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that practically all Spanish educational centers have had to adapt the teaching they provide. The case of the musical field in general and that of instrumental practice in particular has had to organize an effective educational response with which to ensure the well-being and learning of students. That is why we have carried out a systematic review based on research questions and a main objective related to the strategies that conservatories and general education centers have adopted in the musical field. Initially we selected a series of databases of recognized international and Hispanic prestige in which to carry out searches with the defined key terms. The different phases of study of the documents were limited by the inclusion criteria and the search formulas, giving rise to the final selection once those documents that appeared duplicates in the databases had been eliminated. The results show how the main strategies in the primary stages are related to collaborative and cooperative work, even in the phase of suppression of educational attendance. In addition, in music conservatories, group instrumental practice has had certain peculiarities during the different phases of the pandemic, with the main strategy carried out by teachers being teacher coordination., La pandemia por COVID-19 ha supuesto que la práctica totalidad de los centros educativos españoles hayan tenido que adaptar la enseñanza que imparten. El caso del ámbito musical en general y el de la práctica instrumental en particular ha tenido que organizar una respuesta educativa eficaz con la que asegurar el bienestar y el aprendizaje del alumnado. Es por ello por lo que hemos llevado a cabo una revisión sistemática a partir de cuestiones de investigación y un objetivo principal relacionado con las estrategias que los conservatorios y los centros de educación general han adoptado en el ámbito musical. Inicialmente seleccionamos una serie de bases de datos de reconocido prestigio tanto internacionales como hispanas en las que realizar búsquedas con los términos clave definidos. Las diferentes fases de estudio de los documentos estuvieron acotadas por los criterios de inclusión y las fórmulas de búsqueda dando lugar a la selección final una vez eliminados aquellos documentos que aparecían duplicados en las bases de datos. Los resultados muestran como las principales estrategias en las etapas de primaria se relacionan con el trabajo colaborativo y cooperativo incluso en la fase de supresión de la presencialidad educativa. 22. Methodology and Resources of the Itinerant Speech and Hearing Teacher

Abstract

Introduction: Having spent twenty years of business and professional development from the emergence of speech and hearing teacher traveling, it seems appropriate to reflect on the role he has been playing this figure in order to apprehend the things considered to improve the approach to adopt towards to promote the quality of its educational activities. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the educational work of these professionals doing a tour of the methodological approaches that support it, while analyzing the organization and teaching strategies that perform and the types of resources and materials used. Method: The object-problem of this study will conduct an analysis of the situation faced by mobile professionals for hearing and speech and deepen the study of the methodology and resources that characterize the action being carried out. The research now presented is within the ambit interpretive approach or paradigm, and that the nature of the offense under investigation, for the very purpose of the research activity, for how to address the analysis and interpretation of data and qualitative methodology from which we use for making information. Results: The results show that the methodology developed by teachers of speech and hearing itinerant has a high penetration of clinical intervention models and therapeutic, with a strong presence of activities and resources focused on fonoarticulatorios components. Discussion and conclusions: The main focus of its activities are focused on reproductive repetitive procedures in which the predominant action of the teacher, not working the contents of other areas or activities are generally assigned to regular classrooms.

Abstract

Previous research suggests that individual differences in pathogen disgust sensitivity and social anxiety predict avoidance behavior, especially of pathogen cues, and reduced tolerance for social ambiguity. Conversely, generalized social trust is associated with approach behavior and a greater tolerance for social ambiguity. We conducted an online study (N = 1078) to test these predictions in the context of the COVID-19 global pandemic. Specifically, we assessed whether individual differences in pathogen disgust sensitivity, social anxiety and generalized social trust predicted judgments of trustworthiness, desired social distance and perceptions of sickness of target faces wearing surgical masks. Our results showed that (a) high sensitivity to pathogen disgust predicted lower judgments of trustworthiness and lower social desirability; (b) high social anxiety predicted higher perceptions of illness and lower judgments of trustworthiness; and (c) generalized social trust predicted higher judgments of trustworthiness and lower perceptions of illness of target faces. Further, we found that mask wearers were perceived as more likely to be ill, more trustworthy and more socially desirable than the same faces presented to a control group, without the surgical mask superimposed. Results are discussed in terms of perceived compliance with an emerging social norm overriding the intrinsic mistrustfulness of masked faces.

24. The Future of Inclusive Education at the University of Bologna: A Survey of Students’ Opinions and Attitudes

Abstract

This research paper focuses on analyzing the current situation regarding the educational and social inclusion of students with disabilities, based on the point of view of students studying at the College of Education and Learning Sciences in Bologna (Italy). Due to the complexity of the educational situation being analyzed, a descriptive methodological approach was followed, collecting and analyzing quantitative data through a survey. The data sample was obtained incidentally by taking advantage of the research collaboration of one of the authors who was present in Bologna. Overall, the results indicate that these students hold generally positive opinions and attitudes toward the inclusion of disabled students. It should be noted, however, that an improvement in basic training is needed, and that studies should be conducted on educational practice aiming to further develop the implementation of action plans based on academic quality in order to include students with disabilities in higher education., Este trabajo de investigación se centra en el análisis de la situación actual en lo que respecta a la inclusión educativa y social de estudiantes con discapacidades, desde el punto de vista de estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación y del Aprendizaje de la Universidad de Bolonia (Italia). Debido a la complejidad de la situación educativa que se analiza, se siguió un enfoque metodológico descriptivo que consiste en recopilar y analizar datos cuantitativos a través de una encuesta. La muestra de datos se obtuvo de manera incidental, aprovechando la colaboración investigadora de uno de los autores que estuvo presente en Bolonia. En general, los resultados indican que estos estudiantes suelen tener opiniones y actitudes positivas hacia la inclusión de estudiantes discapacitados. Sin embargo, cabe señalar que hace falta mejorar la formación básica y que se deben realizar estudios sobre la práctica educativa con el fin de potenciar la implementación de planes de acción basados en la calidad académica con miras a la inclusión de estudiantes con discapacidades en la educación superior.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to know the perceptions of satisfaction and fulfillment of expectations regarding the organizational climate of Higher Education Institutions in Ecuador. For it, after applying an adapted questionnaire based on a proposal prepared by the National Institute for the Evaluation of Education in Mexico, a quantitative analysis, descriptive and comparative type has been carried out, from which are derived key guidelines for the design and implementation of strategies to promote a framework of positive interactions as a prelude to a quality education., El objetivo principal de este estudio es conocer las percepciones sobre la satisfacción y el cumplimiento de las expectativas respecto al clima organizacional de las Instituciones de Educación Superior en Ecuador. Para ello, tras la aplicación de un cuestionario adaptado partiendo de una propuesta elaborada por el Instituto Nacional para la Evaluación de la Educación en México, se ha realizado un análisis de carácter cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y comparativo, a partir del cual se derivan las pautas claves para el diseño e implementación de estrategias que favorezcan un marco de interacciones positivas como preludio de una educación de calidad.

The stigma of healthcare professionals can affect both recovery time and patients’ own self-stigma. In universities, it is necessary to reduce these prejudices through training on mental health.Purpose: The purpose of this research has been to assess the use of educational escape rooms as a learning and awareness strategy on stigmatizing attitudes towards people with serious mental disorders in university students.Methods: An online escape room has been designed whose narrative shows the daily life of a person with a serious mental illness. An exploratory qualitative study has been carried out to explore the perception of 44 university students from two Andalusian universities about this escape room.Results: The results of the study show that most of the interviewed students consider that the educational escape room has been a fun and motivating learning strategy, which has allowed them to learn cooperatively and empathize with the protagonist with a mental disorder.Conclusion: Online escape rooms can be a useful strategy for teaching health sciences students. Abstract

Even though video games have been present among children for many years, children are using them more continuously and in an abusive and indiscriminate way nowadays because of the "technological boom". It is affecting the behavior of children and adolescents. This is the reason why we are carrying out this systematic review. The main objective of this article is to investigate literature that directly connects the continuous and undifferentiated use of video games with the emergence of behavioral disorders in children and young people. The PRISMA statement was followed in the process of this article. We used SCOPUS, Web of Science and PubMed as databases, moreover, we searched studies with a scoping review. The results indisputably supported six out of seven of our hypotheses. We find that the excessive use of video games causes addiction to technology, aggressive behaviors, sleep disorders, and poor school performance. In addition, it hinders social relationships and the development of emotional intelligence. To conclude, it is necessary to correctly use video games in particular, and technologies in general, adapting their content to children's age, as well as the amount of time that they dedicate to use them. 36. Nutritional and bioactive compounds of three fruits from the Peruvian highlands and jungle as a potential source of nutrients for human consumption

Abstract

Resumen El objetivo del estudio fue determinar las características fisicoquímicas, los compuestos bioactivos y la capacidad antioxidante de tres frutas provenientes de la sierra y la selva de Perú: aguaymanto (Physalis peruviana L.), pitaya amarilla (Selenicereus megalanthus) y quito quito (Solanum quitoense Lam.). Se realizó análisis proximal, fisicoquímicos, minerales, compuestos bioactivos y capacidad antioxidante. Los mayores contenidos de fósforo (46,80 mg %), calcio (38,40 mg %) y sodio (4,50 mg %) correspondieron al aguaymanto, mientras que la pitaya amarilla presentó los mayores contenidos de magnesio (28 mg %) y azufre (28,20 mg %), y el quito quito registró el mayor contenido de potasio (354,90 mg %). En cuanto a los microelementos, destaca el contenido de hierro de la pitaya amarilla (25,90 mg/kg) y del quito quito (34,60 mg/kg). El aguaymanto y el quito quito presentaron las mayores cantidades de compuestos bioactivos, como vitamina C (43,1 y 30,1 mg/100 g, respectivamente), polifenoles totales (62,93 y 67,24 mg ácido gálico/100 g, respectivamente) y carotenoides totales (0,8 y 0,74 mg β-caroteno/100 g, respectivamente). En la capacidad antioxidante, determinada mediante los métodos DPPH, ABTS y FRAP, el aguaymanto y el quito quito registraron mayores valores (197-987 µmoles Trolox/100 g) que la pitaya amarilla (110-638 µmoles Trolox/100 g). El aguaymanto, la pitaya amarilla y el quito quito representan una fuente importante de nutrientes y compuestos bioactivos que podría aprovecharse en la alimentación humana y la elaboración de alimentos funcionales y nutracéuticos. Abstract The objective of this study was to determine the physical-chemical characteristics, bioactive compounds and the antioxidant capacity of three types of fruits from the mountains and jungle of Peru: aguaymanto (Physalis peruviana L.), yellow pitaya (Selenicereus megalanthus (and quito quito (Solanum quitoense Lam.). The analyzes performed were proximal, physical-chemical, minerals, bioactive compounds, and antioxidant capacity. The highest contents of phosphorus, calcium and sodium (46.80, 38.40 and 4.50 mg %, respectively) corresponded to the aguaymanto; whereas yellow pitaya had the highest magnesium and sulfur contents (28 and 28.20 mg %, respectively). Quito quito presented the highest potassium content (354.90 mg %). Regarding the microelements, the iron content of the yellow pitaya and quito quito fruits stands out (25.90 and 34.60 mg/kg, respectively). The fruits aguaymanto and quito quito had the highest amounts of bioactive compounds, such as vitamin C (43.1 and 30.1 mg/100 g, respectively), total polyphenols (62.93 and 67.24 mg gallic acid/100 g, respectively), and total carotenoids (0.8 and 0.74 mg β-carotene/100 g, respectively.) The antioxidant capacity was determined by the methodologies DPPH, ABTS and FRAP, presenting, aguaymanto and quito quito the highest values, from 197 to 987 µmoles Trolox/100 g, with respect to the yellow pitaya that varied from 110 to 638 µmoles Trolox/100 g. The results allow us to demonstrate that the Andean fruits: aguaymanto, yellow pitaya and quito quito represent an important source of nutritional and bioactive compounds and that they could be used in human nutrition and for the preparation of functional and nutraceutical foods.

The objective of this research was to determine the physicochemical, nutritional and morphological characteristics of five varieties of native fruits from the central Andean region and the northern Peruvian jungle: goldenberry (Physalis peruviana), sanky (Corryocactus brevistylus), cocona (Solanum sessiliflorum), yellow pitahaya (Selenicereus megalanthus) and camu camu (Myrciaria dubia). The fruits were washed, peeled, pulped, fleshed, and lyophilized, to determine, using standardized analytical methods, the nutrient content, such as vitamin C, fiber, soluble solids. The goldenberry, sanky and camu camu fruits presented the highest vitamin C content (43.0, 57.1 and 2,780 mg per 100g of fresh weight, respectively), while cocona and pitahaya had 4.54 and 8.0 mg per 100g of fresh weight, respectively. The goldenberry and pitahaya (26.85 and 9.75%) yielded the highest content of reducing sugars. At the same time, goldenberry and cocona reported the highest fiber values (4.9 and 2.5%, respectively). Regarding the content of soluble solids (°Brix), pitahaya and goldenberry showed the highest values (16.2 and 13.3 respectively). In conclusion, the results obtained show that the native fruits studied represent an important source of nutrients that can be beneficial for human health. En el Perú existen muchas frutas nativas que poseen nutrientes esenciales para la salud y que han sido poco estudiadas. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue determinar las características fisicoquímicas, nutricionales y morfológicas de cinco variedades de frutas nativas: aguaymanto (Physalis peruviana), sanky (Corryocactus brevistylus), cocona (Solanum sessiliflorum), pitahaya amarilla (Selenicereus megalanthus) y camu camu (Myrciaria dubia), procedentes de la región andina central y de la selva norte peruana. Abstract

Studies to date that have focused on the well-being of the athlete have been based on the hedonic point of view. However, there is a second point of view: eudemonia. Therefore, the present study aims to validate and adapt the Eudemonic Well-Being Scale to the sport context. The study involved 2487 from several sport clubs. Several confirmatory factor analyses were carried out and showed that the six-factor questionnaire was the one with the best fit indices. These results show that the scale is in relation to the original scale (from Spain) and to Waterman’s theoretical model.

Abstract

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of students have been affected by the closure of educational institutions. This has forced a shift from face-to-face to distance education, facing numerous emergency educational measures, such as online assessment. This study aims to present a systematic review of the literature on the impact of assessment in higher education during the pandemic. The study has followed the methodology set out in the PRISMA statement, and includes 13 studies selected from a total of 51. The results indicate that faculty and students have faced numerous challenges in moving to virtual environments; on the faculty side the lack of training in online assessment techniques is the main problem, on the students’ side there is dishonesty and misconduct. However, it is concluded that continuous assessment, not focused on exams, but in a more qualitative way is the best way to assess at a distance.

44. The “Joker” laugh: Social judgments towards affective deviants in a sample of young offenders with callous unemotional traits

Abstract

We assessed negative bias in Colombian young offenders towards affective deviants (those who violate emotional norms). Postulating that affective deviants elicit an “uncanny/creepy” feeling resembling that produced by psychopaths, we explored social judgments of affective deviants in individuals with callous-unemotional (CU) traits. 188 young offenders evaluated a target displaying congruent or incongruent affective displays in response to pictures eliciting positive/negative affect, depending on the condition. Affective deviants were rated as creepier and less trustworthy, and more likely to have bad moral character, than targets who displayed normative affect. Further, affective deviants who displayed positive affect in response to negative stimuli were rated as having worse moral character than those who displayed negative affect in response to positive stimuli. CU traits predicted lower trustworthiness judgments of targets in congruent conditions, but higher trustworthiness judgments of targets in incongruent conditions. CU traits also predicted higher desired social distance and creepiness judgments in congruent conditions. Creepiness ratings correlated with judgments of bad moral character, suggesting that this emotional response may be involved in moral evaluations of strangers. These findings indicate that deviant affective displays produce a variety of negative social judgments, with CU traits playing a role in these social cognitive heuristics.

Abstract

En el ámbito mundial la formación del profesorado es un tema que está en constante investigación, se puede decir que no pasa de moda por ser uno de los principales asuntos que tienden a relacionarse con la calidad de la enseñanza. El profesorado debe tener mayor relevancia como factor de influencia en las prácticas profesionales actuales y la formación permanente que desarrolle es clave en la actualización y calidad de su práctica docente. A través del presente estudio se planteó como objetivo el análisis de las percepciones de los docentes de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC) acerca de las motivaciones que presenta dicho colectivo para participar en el programa de formación del profesorado de la USAC. Así, a través de un estudio exploratorio descriptivo mediante un cuestionario de opinión, se planteó la interpretación de los resultados obtenidos categorizados en una serie de factores motivacionales de tal participación en el programa. Como conclusiones, destaca el propósito de innovar, con la finalidad de mejorar la calidad educativa en su desarrollo como, así como la preocupación para mejorar el nivel de contenido científico y la formación psicopedagógica, si bien se aprecia la necesidad de acercar dicho programa con las necesidades prácticas y cotidianas de los docentes y la posibilidad de su aplicación en las aulas el aprendizaje obtenido en las actividades formativas planteadas., In the world, teacher training is a subject that is constantly under investigation, it can be said that it does not go out of style because it is one of the main issues that tend to be related to the quality of teaching. The teaching staff must have greater relevance as a factor in the influence of current professional practices and the continuing education they develop is key in the updating and quality of their teaching practice. Through this study, the objective was the analysis of the perceptions of teachers of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC) about the motivations that this group presents to participate in the teacher training program of the USAC. Thus, through an descriptive exploratory study through an opinion questionnaire, the interpretation of the results obtained categorized in a series of motivational factors of such participation in the program was raised. Abstract

La innovación de la educación superior asegura que el contenido y las tecnologías sean sostenibles y consistentes con el diseño de una enseñanza digital. La economía digital en la educación superior vincula la economía basada en los avances y aplicaciones digitales con el propósito del proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje universitario. En este orden, el objeto de la gestión es comunicar una serie de instrucciones que mejoren el sistema educativo con una economía digital que cumpla con las tendencias de su desarrollo. En los últimos cinco años, se han producido más de la mitad de las contribuciones en torno a la implicación de la economía digital en la educación superior. Esta circunstancia deriva, principalmente, de los avances en la investigación como consecuencia del desarrollo de las tecnologías. Este trabajo tiene la finalidad de analizar las tendencias en la educación superior como resultado de la economía de los procesos digitales y así definir los temas que originan mayor interés en este campo de investigación. Así, con la finalidad de reconocer nuevas disciplinas y la evolución de esta área de interés, se han identificado las redes por co-autoría de los principales autores, instituciones y países, y la red de palabras clave por co-ocurrencia, mediante la aplicación del método bibliométrico y técnicas de visualización . The innovation of higher education ensures that content and technologies are sustainable and consistent with the design of digital education. The digital economy in higher education links the economy based on advances and digital applications with the purpose of the university teaching and learning process. In this order, the purpose of management is to communicate a series of instructions that improve the education system with a digital economy that meets the trends of its development. In the last five years, more than half of the contributions have been made regarding the involvement of the digital economy in higher education. This circumstance derives mainly from advances in research as a result of the development of technologies.
