Introduction. Possession of a wheelchair allows disabled people with paraplegia to compensate for mobility limitations. In order to build the rehabilitation process, it is important to know what factors hinder and what factors facilitate the development of a wheelchair. Aim. To determine functional independence, quality of life and secondary health conditions in persons with lower paraplegia and to assess their relationships with the degree of difficulty when moving around in a wheelchair. Materials and methods. We examined 396 patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) and lower paraplegia who used a wheelchair. The level of independence of the patients was determined using Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and Spinal Cord Independence Measure (SCIM III), quality of life was assessed using the SF-36 questionnaire, secondary health conditions were determined using the SCI SCS scale and the presence of problems moving around in the wheelchair was assessed using category d465 «moving around using equipment» of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. Results. Half of the examined patients with SCI had a sufficiently high level of independence when performing daily activities. 43.5 % of the patients showed either moderate, severe or absolute problems moving around in the wheelchair and 65.4 % demonstrated the presence of more than three secondary health conditions. We found negative correlations between the degree of difficulty experienced by the patients when moving around in the wheelchair and the levels of independence in daily life and the indicators of quality of life such as vitality, social functioning and mental health. In binary logistic regression it was ascertained that the significant independent factors associated with difficulty when using the wheelchair were spasticity, contractures of the muscles of the lower limb and circulatory disorders. Conclusion. The success in using the wheelchair is limited by spasticity, contractures of the muscles of the lower limb and circulatory disorders.

RELEVANCE of this study lies in the use of an artificial neural network to predict the volume of water in the Coca reservoir (Coca hydroelectric power station in Ethiopia). As you know, hydropower, being renewable energy, is one of the technologies that produce electricity with the least impact on global climate change. During this time, Ethiopia received about 87% (4,674 MW) of electricity from hydropower. It is one of the countries affected by the problems of climatic phenomena, such as floods, droughts and hurricanes, which affect the potential of hydropower. THE PURPOSE. In order to maintain safe operation, good production efficiency, better water resources management, effective decision-making, accident prevention and early warning and restrictions on electricity production, water volume forecasting is necessary. Which, in turn, is a nonlinear problem, and a multilinear perceptron-type neural network (MLP) is suitable for this purpose. METHODS. In this study, different models with different selected number of nodes and layers were identified, since there is no specific rule for determining the architecture of an artificial neural network. Statistical analysis (mean square error (MSE) and R-squared (R2)) was used to verify the validity of the model by comparing the actual values of water inflow with the predicted values. results. The inflow prediction was carried out using the ANN method based on a multilayer perceptron (MLP). The performance of each model was evaluated using the mean square error (MSE) and efficiency coefficient (R2), which are among the most commonly used statistical methods in hydrological modeling. CONCLUSION. The results obtained show that the models successfully predicted flood runoff over the reservoir.

Animal tumor models are used for preclinical studies of drugs and cancer therapy. The aim of this work was to analyze the growth of murine pancreatic tumor cells Pan02, carrying GFP marker, injected subcutaneously (s. c.), intraperitoneally (i. p.) or orthotopically into the pancreas (ortho) of C57BL/6 mice. Mice were injected with 2 × 105 cells: s. c. in the right flank; i. p. with a syringe into the abdominal cavity, or ortho surgically under the pancreas capsule. The weight of mice was determined in the dynamics of tumor growth, and blood serum was taken to analyze the antibody response to the GFP reference protein. At the 2nd and 4th weeks of tumor growth, some mice were slaughtered and the expression of GFP by the tumor cells, as well as the composition of the immune cells in the tumor, were analyzed by flow cytometry and confocal microscopy. It was shown that with the different localization, the pancreatic tumors grew at different rates and lethality. When the tumor was injected i. p., mice lost weight with rapid tumor growth. In the ortho model, the mice increased their weight. Mortality in the s. c. and i. p. groups was comparable. In the s. c. model, the tumor grew slowly to a volume of 200-400 mm3 and stopped growing. There was no mortality in this group during the follow-up period (2 months). The same antibody response to GFP was formed with all injection schemes. The subpopulation composition of immune cells varied greatly in the different models of tumor cell administration. Regardless of the type of immune response, Pan02-GFP cells rapidly suppressed GFP gene expression in vivo. The data obtained showed that murine pancreatic tumor Pan02 is immunogenic and causes the formation of an adaptive immune response. Regardless of the presence or absence of an immune response and elimination of GFP+ cells, the tumor continued to grow in the i. p. and ortho models, but not in the s. c. one, and caused the death of mice. When conducting preclinical studies, it is necessary to use several ways of tumor cell injection to obtain a more objective result.

Introduction. This study is relevant due to the high prevalence of organic brain pathology and the negative influence of urination disorders on the quality of life.Objective. To analyse the impaired function of lower urinary tracts in patients with organic brain pathology.Materials & methods. We analysed 607 patients with severe organic brain pathology (105 had traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) and 457 had consequences of acute stroke (AS)). We performed clinical urological examinations. During the survey, attention was paid to the presence of urinary tract pathology at the examining time and anamnesis. Structural changes in the urinary tract were objectively assessed. We objectively assessed structural changes in urinary tracts including prostate adenoma in men, insufficiency of pelvic floor muscles in women and strictures of the urethra or ureters. The degree of the spastic syndrome was assessed with the Ashworth Scale. The neurourological examination included cystometry with the measurement of bladder volume and post-void residual urine. The cognitive status of the patients was assessed with the MMSE (Mini-Mental State Examination) questionnaire. The correlation analysis between the degree of spastic syndrome measured with the Ashworth Scale and urination disorders was performed with Spearman rank correlation.Results. All patients had neurogenic dysfunction of the lower urinary tract. A combination of bladder retention and emptying disorders was found in 62 men older than 45yo with benign prostate hyperplasia (10,2% of all cases). An impaired accumulation function in history was found in 45 women older than 45yo (7,4% of all observations). The level of spasticity was 3 or 4 points on the Ashworth Scale in patients with TSCI and 2 to 4 points in those with AS. The analysis of correlations between the degree of spasticity and urination disorders showed a moderate relationship (r = 0,4) in patients with TSCI and a medium relationship (r = 0.65) in patients with AS.Conclusion. Neurogenic dysfunction of the lower urinary tract accompanies patients with severe organic brain pathology throughout their life and requires adequate correction.

An effect of Mg introduction on efficiency of high-loaded nickel catalysts in dehydrogenation of decahydroquinoline (10HQ) was investigated. 10HQ dehydrogenation is key process for the liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) storage technology using the quinoline/10HQ pair as H2-lean/H2-rich substrates. An influence of synthesis technique of Ni/Mg/Al catalysts on their properties has been demonstrated. The catalysts were synthesized through coprecipitation of Ni, Mg, Al precursors to obtain layered double hydroxides (LDH) or via synthesis of (∼72 wt%) Ni-Al2O3 system – also through coprecipitation, followed by modifying with a magnesium-containing precursor. For the catalysts of the first series, the inclusion of magnesium into LDH lattice led to a significant increase in catalytic activity in hydrogen extraction (10HQ dehydrogenation reaction). Despite the decrease in the content of catalytically active nickel, a significant increase in the yield of the dehydrogenation product was observed. This regularity is presumably associated with appearance of basic sites, that accelerates the dehydrogenation reaction. In the case of the second series, activity of pre-reduced (600 °C, H2) catalysts in dehydrogenation of 10HQ also significantly depends on a MgO content and is maximal at Mg:Ni weight ratio 0.056. Using an in-depth study of structure of the original and reduced catalyst samples (Ni-Al2O3 and Ni-MgNiOx-Al2O3), it was shown that this regularity is associated with the increased resistance of catalytically active Ni particles to agglomeration during the reductive activation. Also, using the Ni-MgNiOx-Al2O3 catalyst for hydrogen storage process (hydrogenation reaction), the possibility of deep quinoline hydrogenation (up to 10HQ) in a flow-type reactor was demonstrated for the first time.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the differences in iron accumulation in organs and tissues of cattle bred in ecologically robust zones of Western Siberia. Methods: The authors presented 486 samples of the muscle, hair, heart, liver, kidneys, and spleen from three breeds of bulls. The authors examined 84 Black Pied, Hereford, and Holstein bulls aged 16–18 months. The Black Pied bulls were bred in the Ubinsky district of the Novosibirsk region, Russia, the Hereford bulls were bred in the Maslyaninsky district of the Novosibirsk region, and the Holstein bulls were bred in the Promyshlensky district of the Kemerovo region, Russia. The authors studied the chemical composition of organs and muscle tissue using atomic absorption spectrometry with flame and electrothermal atomization using an MGA-1000 spectrometer. Results: The median iron concentrations in the muscle, hair, heart, liver, kidneys, and spleen were 16.5–49.1, 22.3–130, 42–70, 56.5–68.3, 39.3–52.2, and 252.2–472 mg/kg, respectively. The authors recorded the highest iron concentration in the spleen, where its concentration was significantly higher than in other organs, regardless of the breed. Conclusion: The breed significantly affected the iron content in muscle tissue, heart, kidneys, hair, and spleen. The iron concentrations in muscle tissue, heart, and spleen were higher in Black Pied cattle, and iron concentrations in hair were lower in Holstein and Hereford cattle. Multivariate statistical methods showed high phenotypic similarity in iron accumulation in organs and tissues between Hereford and Holstein cattle. Animals’ breed and age should be considered when developing regional standards for iron content.

Species composition, distribution density and biomass of phytoplankton were surveyed in the coastal area of eastern Aniva Bay in May-October 2018. In total, 297 species and intraspecific taxa of microalgae belonged to Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Cryptophyta, Dinophyta, Euglenophyta, Crysophyta were found. Their total abundance ranged from 14.8 . 103 to 1024.7 . 103 cells/L, biomass was 19.4–324.6 mg/m3. Two peaks in the abundance (in June and October) and five peaks in the biomass (in May, June, September and October) were noted. The bulk of population was formed by diatoms in spring and autumn, and flagellates in summer. A bloom of potentially toxic diatoms of genus Pseudo-nitzschia was registered. In this connection, monitoring of toxic species is necessary for planning and development of aquaculture farms.

Relevance. The improvement of the surveillance of evolution of influenza viruses and the refinement of the capacity of prognostics of their evolutionary tendencies would lead to the better understanding and control on influenza epidemics. Aim. Establish the etiological nature of influenza epidemics in 2020–2023 in Russia and the antigenic properties of influenza viruses of the types A and B which circulated on its territory in 2020–2023. Methods. Isolation of influenza viruses from PCR+-clinical materials (nazo-pharingeal swabs and post-mortem tissue samples) in the cell lines MDCK and MDCK-Siat1; antigenic analysis by means of the reaction of hemagglutination-inhibition (HI) and micro-neutralization (MN) with the cell-ELISA detection using the post-infectious ferret antisera and rat polyclonal antisera; antigenic cartography. Results and discussion. The season 2020–2021 – the 1st season of pandemic of COVID-19, was characterized by quasi-total disappearance of influenza viruses from human population on the territory of REussia, probably as a consequence of stringent sanitary-hygienic measures worldwide due to COVID-19 pandemic. In the next epidemic season we could observe the domination of influenza viruses A(H3N2) during all season with the slight growth of the proportion of influenza B in the second part of the season. We could not isolate influenza viruses A(H1N1)pdm09 in that season due to their low epidemic activity, and the majority of isolated strains were А(H3N2) viruses – 94,4% of the total number of isolates. Influenza Вvic consisted 28 % of all number of isolates. The season 2022-23, opposite to the previous one, was characterized by the domination of influenza viruses of the sub-type А(H1N1)pdm09 what made it different from the epidemic in Europe and North America, where the A(H3N2) were prevalent, particularly in the first half of the epidemic season. Later on, the situation in Europe has changed and, as in Russia, influenza B actively introduced in circulation. The proportion of isolation of influenza viruses A(H1N1) pdm09 in Russia was 69,2 %, of influenza A(H3N2) – 3,5 %, of influenza Вvic – 27,3 %. Activation of A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses was probably a result of emergence of drift-variants of this sub-type during the epidemics what was supported by the data of antigenic and genetic analyses. Thus in 2020 the first isolates of a genetic clade 6В.1А5а were discovered. They possessed the key substitution N156K in the antigenic site Sb of НА1. The results of genetic analysis have shown that among the A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses of the last season which belonged to the clade 6В.1А.5а.2а, a group of viruses carrying the substitutions P137S, K142R, D260E, T277A in HA1 could be found, which are also present in the new vaccine strain А/Victoria/4897/2022 (genetic sub-group 6В.1А.5а.2а.1). This virus was recommended for the next season 2023-2024 for the Northern Hemisphere. Concerning the antigenic properties, the viruses having such substitutions practically did not differ from the majority of strains A(H1N1)pdm09 in circulation during the last season. So influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses, that circulated in Russia in 2022-2023 represented the antigenic cluster of A/Victoria/2570/2019-like strains. They were also similar to the strain A/Victoria/4897/2022, which was recommended by the WHO experts for the composition of vaccines for the season 2023–2024. The majority of viruses A(H3N2) have preserved the ability to agglutinate erythrocytes of mammals in the presence of 20 nM oseltamivir carboxylate, that is why we applied for their characterization the HI-test. The strains under study were very close to the strain A/Darwin/09/21, recommended by the WHO as the vaccine strain for the season 2022-2023. They belonged to the most wide-spread in the World genetic group 3С.2а1b.2a.2. All studied influenza B viruses belonged to the Victoria lineage and were B/Austria/1359417/2021-like. According to the phylogenetic analysis, all modern Victoria strains clustered into the sub-clade V1A.3a.2, coding the substitutions A127T, P144L и K203R in HA1. Inside this clade one can determine two genetic sub-groups: the 1st include viruses with the substitution in the HA1-protein D197E and the second – a group of viruses with the substitutions E128K, A154E, S208P in НА1. Strains of the Yamagata lineage were not registered on the territory of Russia since 2021, so the problem of their antigenic drift and possible return into circulation stays opened. The very low level of circulation of influenza viruses in 2020-2021 complicated the prognostics and selection of vaccine strains. According the results of HI- and MN-tests we could conclude that in 2021-2022 there was a partial consistency between the vaccine strain A/Cambodia/е0826360/20 (H3N2) and the strains in circulation which were more like to the reference strain A/ Darwin/9/21. We could also observe a mismatch of influenza viruses B in circulation and the vaccine variant B/Washington/02/19. As a result of the propagation of drift variants, the substitution of vaccine strains was made for the Northern Hemisphere for 2022/23. For the H3 component the strain A/Darwin/09/21 was introduced, and for Bvic component –B/Austria/1359417/21. Conclusion. In the period under consideration the relative homogeneity of population was observed inside each type and sub-type of influenza viruses and their fitness to the actual vaccine strains. However the selection of the strains – candidates for seasonal vaccines still remains a serious problem. Thus, in the season 2019-2020 one could observe a mismatch of the vaccine strain and the viruses in circulation in Russia for the component A(H3N2) and partial mismatch for the component B Victoria. In the season 2021-22 was evident a mismatch for Bvic and partial conformity for the component A(H3N2) and only in the last season 2022-23 we could confirm a complete fitness of the vaccine composition and the viruses in the circulation. The timely submission of data and samples to the WHO CCs promotes decision-making on the selection of strains and their introduction into influenza vaccines for the future epidemic season. The sustainability of the epidemiologic surveillance and the refinement of the methods of analysis of antigenic, genetic and other biological properties of circulating viruses would enhance the level of preparedness of healthcare system to the yearly influenza epidemics in the country.

Type I allergy is mediated by the formation of IgE antibodies to proteins secreted by nonreplicating microorganisms (plant pollen, house dust mites, etc.) that enter the mucous membranes in very low concentrations. The mechanisms and localization of naive B cells’ switching to IgE production have not been fully determined. The aim of this work was to determine the switching site of B cells and the traffic of IgEproducing B cells in mice immunized with a low dose of equimolar mixture of egg proteins Gal d1, Gal d2, and Gal d3. Allergens in saline solution were injected into the withers of mice 9-10 times with an interval of 2-3 days; the total dose was 2.7 µg/mouse. The production of IgE to Gal d proteins in the blood and by B cells isolated from the withers, draining lymph nodes, spleen, and bone marrow of immune mice was analyzed in dynamics after cessation of sensitization. Both in blood and in in vitro cultures, the dominance of IgE changed from the recognition of the LMW Gal d2 during the sensitization of mice to the HMW Gal d3 after sensitization was discontinued. In this model, an IgG memory response appeared only a month after the end of sensitization and recognized only Gal d3. In vitro cultures showed that B cells switched to IgE production locally in the withers with low traffic to the spleen. In the blood serum, IgE titers for all Gal d proteins decreased after the cessation of sensitization and persisted for a long time. A month after the cancellation of the sensitization, a pool of B cells producing IgE in vitro appeared in the spleen. These B-cells died after 20-30 days as no in vitro IgE production was observed later than 85-90 days. The results obtained allowed us to draw several conclusions. B cells switch to IgE synthesis locally at the site of allergen injections. The response was two-phase: LMW Gal d2 was recognized in the early response, while HMW Gal d3 was recognized in the late phase. In this model, the IgG response to HMW Gal d3 was clearly dominant. In conclusion, it has been shown that when the immune system recognizes a mixture of proteins originating from some allergen, the dominance of proteins recognized by both IgE and IgG is observed. Since allergy patients most often do not have IgG antibodies, it can be assumed that in this case an acute phase response, supported by antigen intake, is observed, in which LMW allergens are recognized.

The article examines the patterns of changes in transport costs of a company providing transport and logistics services. The transport company "M" was chosen as the object of the study. A table "Amount of transportation costs" was compiled, as well as diagrams "Share of transportation costs" and "Amount of transportation costs of the company" were compiled. Tariff rates and the possibility of changing them are analyzed. Based on the data obtained, it is concluded that the introduction of new tariff rates directly affects the transport costs of the enterprise. The purpose the study of the patterns of changes in transport costs of a company providing transport and logistics services on the example of the company "M". The change in the transport costs of a manufacturing enterprise is considered, taking into account changes in tariff rates, normalized depending on the length of the ride. Methodology: when conducting research, the authors used research methods such as analysis and synthesis. Results: as a result of the study, the following results were obtained: the transportation costs of the company "M" were calculated, the possibilities of changing tariff rates and the corresponding change in annual transportation costs were considered. The scope of the results: research activities to develop new approaches in the field of transportation and transport services.

Purpose: to provide a clinical case of serous retinal detachment after non­penetrating antiglaucoma surgery. A patient with hypertension and type II diabetes mellitus underwent a non­penetrating deep sclerectomy in our clinic against the background of uncompensated glaucoma. Subtotal serous retinal detachment was found in the early postoperative period. Against the background of steroid therapy, the detachment resolved within 2 weeks. We believe that the cause of serous detachment is a significant gradient in the decrease in intraocular pressure against the background of uncompensated glaucoma as a result of surgery against the background of uncompensated glaucoma and endothelial dysfunction due to common diseases. Patients with comorbidities and initially severe condition require more thorough preoperative preparation, monitoring and correction of treatment in the postoperative period.

Diuretics are widely used to treat pathologies of various genesis. However, the development of side effects during their long-term use remains a problem of traditional treatment regimens. The search for diuretics that would be aimed at inhibiting a key target molecule that is involved in the regulation of salt or water balance in the kidney, and certainly have a low level of toxicity and side effects, is an urgent task for researchers. Our preliminary screening of substituted quinones using in silico and in vitro methodology identified a number of effective compounds that outperform or compete with diuretics. The compounds are not "classic" carbonic anhydrase II inhibitors, but the pronounced diuretic effect of a number of compounds requires additional explanation. Therefore, the aim of the work was to study the effect of substituted quinones on the excretory function of rat kidneys to assess the prospects of their further structural modification and use as potential diuretics. Considering the experimental data, it should be noted that compounds AVD-6, AVD-7, AVD-8 and AVD-9 have pronounced diuretic activity. Thus, according to indicators of ex­cretory indices of electrolytes, it is possible to note the predominant influence of compounds AVD-6, AVD-7, AVD-8 and AVD-9 on excretion of sodium, potassium and chlorine from the body. Compounds AVD-6, AVD-7, AVD-8 and AVD-9, in contrast to Hydrochlorothiazide, which blocks carbonic anhydrase in the proximal part of the convoluted tubules and accelerates the excretion of potassium with from the urine, have a much lower excretory index as for these ions. Thus, our conducted research made it possible to identify a new, little-known class of hybrid molecular structures, namely (N'-(4-[(aroyloxy)imino]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene) aroylhydrazides (AVD-6, AVD-7, AVD-8 and AVD-9), which, in addition to affecting the excretory function of the kidneys, have significant diuretic activity and are potential diuretics.

The Russian Federation needs to transition to carbon standards, which are established in many foreign countries, to regulate and control the negative consequences of anthropogenic human activity. Quoting of greenhouse gas emissions at the global level pushes for the development and implementation of technologies to reduce them. One of the ways to reduce emissions in agriculture is the creation of carbon farms. At present, there is no unified methodological and statistical basis for the creation of a carbon farm in the Russian Federation. When creating it, it is necessary to understand not only the general principles of agrolandscapes functioning, but also to take into account the factors that have an impact on the carbon absorption capacity of the land located on the territory of the farm. A new approach to reducing emissions by optimising the location of agricultural land with regard to its sequestration potential on the basis of spatial modelling has been proposed. The specificity of the approach is demonstrated on the example of the farm of the All-Russian Research Institute of Reclaimed Lands (Tver region, Kalininsky district, Emmauss settlement). After additional testing, the approach can be recommended for implementation in the practice of carbon-depleting agricultural land use.

INTRODUCTION. The rationale of the research is defined by the large number of patients with hemiparesis, unable to restore an upright posture and in need of training to use a wheelchair. AIM. To present the methodology of wheelchair training of patients with hemiparesis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. We observed 30 patients with severe hemiparesis during wheelchair training. Examination included assessment of clinical, neurological, and mental status (MMSE — Mini-Mental State Examination), testing of limb muscle strength according to Lovett’s scale modified by L.D. Potekhin, level of sitting function compensation assessment, wheelchair skills (Wheelchair Skills Test). Each patient attended 10 wheelchair training sessions and related physical therapy (PT) sessions, with PT classes preceding the wheelchair training sessions and practicing the wheelchair-using movements required in the wheelchair training sessions. Patients controlled the wheelchair using only healthy limbs. RESULTS. At the moment of admission, 14 patients were not able to use wheelchair independently; 16 patients were able to use wheelchair to varying degrees. As a result of the sessions, the muscle strength of healthy limbs increased; statistically significant improvement in sitting and wheelchair skills was noted. None of the patients who scored 10 for MMSE test improved their wheelchair skills. CONCLUSION. Persons with severe hemiparesis learn to use the wheelchair with the help of healthy limbs. Physical therapy sessions precede wheelchair training and form the movements necessary for learning to use the wheelchair.

Wilson’s disease is severe autosomal recessive disease manifested primarily by hepatic, neurological, and psychiatric disorders due to excessive copper deposition in organs and tissues. Clinical case description. The variant with uncertain clinical value of the ATP7B gene, c.2111C>T (p.T704I, chr13:52534294G>A (HG19)), was described in the family where parents are cousins. The eldest daughter out of four children died at the age of 11 due to liver cirrhosis. Wilson’s disease was genetically confirmed in two children (clinically — abdominal form). The younger son was diagnosed heterozygous state of the disease (without any clinical manifestations). The revealed variant of the ATP7B gene was previously identified in 3 more patients with Wilson’s disease, however, in a compound heterozygous state with known pathogenic genetic variant. Conclusion. c.2111C>T (p.T704I) variant of the ATP7B gene can be considered as probably pathogenic. Further research is required to evaluate its functional significance in Wilson’s disease pathogenesis.

he article presents the case of a girl, Arina, who, based on psychological self-examination, discovered that she had autism spectrum disorder and insisted on receiving an official psychiatric diagnosis. She reported that for many years she had been engaged in masking – hiding existing communication disorders, as a result of which she developed emotional dysregulation and “autistic burnout.” In addition, she was dissatisfied with her name and asked those around her to call her Misha, but in the feminine gender. Misha's behavior was disharmonious; she was prone to conflict due to a misunderstanding of the non-verbal reactions of her interlocutors. An analysis of the literature on the issue of comorbidity of autism spectrum disorders was carried out. It was concluded that the Asperger syndrome identified in the patient was not combined with clearly defined comorbid mental and behavioral disorders, but with abortifacient elements of certain psychopathological symptoms. It is assumed that comorbid disorders did not develop in Misha in an expanded form precisely because of the presence of specific autistic traits that made it difficult to develop a full picture of any other disorders.

The aim of the article. To study of the incidence of diabetes mellitus in Ukraine and to determine the prospects for the use and pharmaceutical development of antidiabetic drugs. Materials and methods. Data from the State Registers of Medicinal Products of Ukraine, of Wholesale and Retail Prices for Medicinal Products declared in Ukraine under an international non-proprietary or generic name (01.01.2024). Were used: systematic and comparative analysis, processing and synthesis, and generalization to determine the forecasted prospects. Results. In Ukraine the number of diabetes patients increased by 11% in the group of children and adolescents; in the group of elderly patients – by 12.5%, among the adult working – 20%, diabetes of the II type predominates. The trend of increase in the number of studies on the search for therapeutic alternatives for the treatment of type II diabetes and list of medicines on the pharmaceutical market has been revealed. In Ukraine drugs for oral use include APIs of the following pharmacological groups: sulfonylureas; meglitinides; biguanides; thiazolidinedione; α-glucosidase inhibitors; DPP-4 inhibitors; SGLT-2 inhibitors. Mechanism of action of the new class of oral hypoglycemic agents, approved by the FDA, consists in blocking SGLT-2 proteins from the proximal convoluted tubule in the kidney, leads to the prevention of reabsorption and excretion of the glucose molecule. This allows its use in combination with insulin and other antidiabetic drugs for the treatment of type I and II diabetes in patients of various age categories. According to the volume of clinical studies, SGLT-2 inhibitor SGLT-2 derivative gliflozin API drugs are the second largest group of antidiabetic drugs recommended for use by FDA and EMA regulatory bodies. Conclusions. The pharmaceutical development of mono and combined drugs with APIs SGLT-2 inhibitors gliflozin derivatives in combination with APIs with metformin, DPP-4 inhibitors, APIs thiazolidinedione derivatives is promising for solving the problem of diabetes treatment and prevention of complications for patients of different age groups including working population in Ukraine.

Evaporation plays an important role in maintaining water balance and managing water resources in reservoirs. This problem is relevant in hot regions with a lack of fresh water. In addition, reliable operation of evaporators plays an important role in preventing overheating and ensuring safe cooling of reactors which is critical to maintaining nuclear safety. The complete control and accurate measurement of the evaporation process provided by the developed device enables efficient water management ensuring the stability of nuclear power plants and minimising environmental risks. Evaporators are used to control the evaporation process in reservoirs. Based on the analysis of existing evaporators and their shortcomings, an evaporator with horizontal plane stabilization in the pan is developed. Due to this function the developed device allows to control the evaporation process with higher accuracy by reducing fluctuations in the water level in the evaporator. The developed device contains an autonomous power supply that uses energy-saving technology based on a solar battery which ensures operation without additional sources. The use of such a power supply increases the evaporator reliability. One of the important advantages of this device is the use of a cellular-based information transmission channel to the control center which allows to transmit the results of evaporation quickly monitoring and make water management decisions accordingly. In addition, the use of a GPS navigation system allows to set or determine the coordinates of the evaporator installation in the reservoir accurately. The developed device can be included in an intelligent energy resource management system; its use will significantly improve the safety and sustainability of nuclear power plants by improving evaporation process control. It will also optimize the nuclear power plants operation, promote efficient management of water resources and ensure safety in the nuclear energy field.

Background. Prior to the introduction of new agents — immune checkpoint inhibitors — for inoperable and/or metastatic melanoma (IMM), chemotherapy outcomes were generally poor. The median (Me) overall survival (OS) in IMM was no more than 6-9 months, and the Me of progression-free survival (PFS) was about 2 months. The introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapy changed the prognosis for the life of IMM patients dramatically. The development, studies, and approval of a new original PD-1 inhibitor, prolgolimab, in Russia in 2020 prompted the professional community to conduct a prospective observational study in the Russian Federation to assess its real-world efficacy and safety. Aim To evaluate the real-world efficacy and safety of prolgolimab in patients with IMM. Materials and methods. From October 2020 to October 2022, 700 patients with IMM receiving prolgolimab in real clinical settings in oncological institutions of various levels in the Russian Federation were included in the study. The main inclusion criteria were: pathology-confirmed diagnosis of melanoma; metastatic and/or inoperable type; use of prolgolimab outside of clinical trials; and signed informed consent. Objective response rate in the general population and the Intention-to-treat and Per Protocol populations was considered the main criterion for evaluating the efficacy of therapy, and the safety criterion was the incidence of grade 3-4 adverse events (AEs). PFS and OS rates were also assessed. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 25.0 software package. Results. The objective response rate for the Per Protocol population (with radiographic assessment available) was 42% (n=235/559). Disease progression was reported in 26.7% (n=149) of patients, stabilization in 31.3% (n=175), and disease control in 73.3% of patients with IMM, regardless of the line of therapy. At the follow-up Me of 12 months (0-36), PFS for all patients regardless of the line of therapy was 8 months (95% confidence interval [Cl] 6.537-9.463), 6-month PFS was 55%, and 12-month PFS was 41%. OS Me for all included patients was 32 months, 6-month OS was 82%, and 12-month OS was 69%. Depending on the line of therapy, the OS Me was: line 1 - not reached, line 2-30 months (95% Cl 16.007-43.993), line 3 and subsequent- 22 months (95% Cl 14.264-29.736); p=0.736. According to the CTCAE 5.0 general terminology criteria for AEs, a total of 136/693 (19.6%) AEs of varying degrees were reported, in particular: grade 1-2 - 105/693 (15.2%), grade 3-4 - 25/693 (3.6%), unknown grade - 5/693 (0.7%), as well as one fatal case (0.1%) due to thromboembolism in the vascular center with an unclear (according to the investigator's assessment) relation with prolgolimab. Conclusion The results obtained at 12 months of follow-up confirm the high efficacy and satisfactory tolerability of prolgolimab in patients with IMM in real-world practice, regardless of the line of therapy and other characteristics.

The aim of the study is to study the transformation of India’s industrial policy and the changing role of human capital during its implementation and transition to a model of selfsustaining economic growth. Since 1947, India’s industrial policy has undergone several significant rotations, while a number of provisions remain relevant today, simultaneously affecting and strengthening the role of human capital. One of the key problems considered in the work is the very high share of unorganized business, which employs, according to various estimates, from 90 to 93 % of the total workforce, which entails both social and economic problems. The methodological basis of the research consists of traditional methods used in this type of work, namely: methods of retrospective, induction, deduction, comparison. The industrial policy implemented in the country since 1948 and its transformation were accompanied by mixed results, not only in terms of economic indicators, but also social ones. The main result of the country’s industrialization was the fact that India was faced with a population explosion, and a serious discrepancy between structural changes in output and employment structure - agriculture still employs the overwhelming share of the country’s population, while the share of the agricultural sector in the structure of GDP is about 15 %. Informal employment remains one of the most significant problems in the Indian market. Despite a number of developed and implemented programs for the transition of workers from informal forms to regular jobs, significant changes have not occurred.

The research is devoted to analysing the woodworking industry from the point of view of using modern digital technologies at its enterprises. The relevance of this work is due to the fact that the timber industry is an important sector of the Russian economy, and the solution of such a task as determining the level of digital transformation (DT) of one of its industries will help identify problem areas and potential opportunities for improving production processes and introducing innovations. The methodological basis was the use of private and universal scientific methods such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, observation, ranking, and expert judgement. The authors of the study studied the activities of foreign and domestic timber processing companies, presented two options for calculating the level of their DT – both by quantifying the level of digitalisation of business processes and the scale of the company, and by analysing the effect of project implementation and the complexity of the technologies used, and found that the results obtained in both cases coincide. In the course of the work, three approaches to digital transformation were considered and it was concluded that its level not only in Russian, but also in foreign companies in the woodworking industry is average. The practical significance of the research consists in the development of recommendations and creation of a methodology for assessing the digital transformation of woodworking industry enterprises, which the latter can use when preparing for changes in the business model and the introduction of new technologies.

The article deals with a brief description of the producing economy types: agriculture and livestock farming of the medieval community. The study combines the results of excavations on the Polyutovo (Rodanovo) hillfort in 1936–1937, 2016–2021 and 2023. The period of the medieval climatic optimum coincides with a change in the type of economy. Favorable conditions for farming are being created. The methods of land cultivation and harvesting the crop, the quantity of which had been steadily increasing, were changing, the design of storage pits for keeping grown grains was improved, and the methods of grain handling were also changed. These assumptions are confirmed by findings of recent years: ploughshare, fragments of hunchback scythe and sickle, storage pit, fragments of quernstones. Osteological analysis indicates a well-developed animal husbandry with a predominance of meat and dairy. Cattle was the key economic species. The hillfort population used the raw materials provided by cattle: wool, leather, bones. The following production occupations are distinguished: spinning, leather crafting, bone carving and, possibly, weaving. Cattle could be used as draft power. The materials open up prospects for further publications and scientific discussions.

IntroductionMethane seeps influence surrounding benthic communities in different ways from slight changes in benthic abundance and biomass to major altering the species composition.Materials and MethodsWe studied benthic communities of 14 methane seep flares in Laptev and East Siberian seas with comparative analysis of species composition and abiotic parameters at the nearby areas not affected by methane seeps. The species diversity was comparable at seep and non-seep sites varying from 3.9 to 39.6 taxa per 100 individuals and from 4.5 to 34.8 taxa per 100 individuals, correspondingly.ResultsThe Laptev Slope community corresponds with the Polychaeta-community, encircling the upper continental slope area of the entire Siberian Arctic. The Lower Shelf community described in this study apparently corresponds with the Ophiocten sericeum community identified in the shelf areas of the Kara, Laptev and East Siberian seas. The Upper Shelf community is mostly inhabited by the bivalves species such as Portlandia arctica, Ennucula tenuis and Astarte montagui communities. The Estuarine community, which is the poorest by diversity but has high values of abundance and biomass is directly influenced by the Lena River runoff in terms of lower salinities and higher sedimentation rates.DiscussionThroughout the study area, the differences between the Estuarine, Upper Shelf, Lower Shelf and Laptev Slope communities exceeded the differences between the seep and background non-seep areas. Several taxa demonstrated correlations with different environmental factors, including the latitude, depth, temperature, salinity, pH and methane content, not depending on the revealed benthic community. Eight taxa demonstrated correlations with the methane content measured at different sediment depths. Two siboglinids taxa demonstrated high abundances at stations with highest methane content deep in the sediment. At the Siberian shelf, our geochemical data for siboglinid habitats are the first to be published so far.

The article substantiates the possibility of obtaining composite materials with improved functional properties to strengthen the subgrade, containing technogenic soil stabilized by an additive based on a gelling polymer. The introduction of technogenic soils into composites will not only reduce the consumption of expensive materials, but also solve a complex of acute environmental problems. Composite materials can be used in the construction of structural layers of road pavements, foundations of buildings and structures, sites for various purposes, for the prevention and elimination of defects in the foundations of engineering structures during their construction, reconstruction and repair, including in permafrost areas. Stabilized technogenic soils are more durable, frost-resistant and waterproof, which makes them applicable for creating impervious curtains in hydraulic structures and sealing storage facilities for hazardous substances. The cryogenic effect on a composite material allows one to vary its properties within a wide range and modify its macroporous structure. Studying the process of structure formation of the resulting organic-inorganic materials, consisting of macromolecules of high-molecular substances and inorganic inclusions that have undergone cryogenic treatment, will make it possible to specifically regulate their performance characteristics. The best values of strength characteristics were obtained for samples with a stabilizing additive concentration of 100 g/l. The resulting composite materials are hydrophobic, frost-resistant, characterized by a compressive strength of 2.3–6.5 MPa and a thermal conductivity of 0.19–0.20 W/(m·K). Data from differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry and IR spectroscopy revealed that the binding of mineral particles by a stabilizing additive occurs due to the formation of organomineral complexes with the participation of clay minerals and the restructuring of hydration shells. SEM data indicate that crystallinity zones formed due to hydrogen bonds of hydroxyl groups of neighboring polymer chains can participate in the formation of the composite structure. An increase in the number of cryogenic treatment cycles promotes additional structuring and strengthening of the polymer phase due to the formation of additional nodes of the supramolecular network, ordering of crystallinity zones and the appearance of compacted areas in the structure. Computed X-ray tomography revealed an increase in the density of the composite upon drying, which helps to increase its strength characteristics. The structure of the sample is characterized by heterogeneity of the pore space, which is characterized by the presence of both fine-porous and large-porous regions, which determines its thermophysical properties.

Abstract The elemental status of cattle is one of the important factors, which determine its growth, fertility, fetal development, meat and dairy production, etc. Therefore, the study of content of different elements in cattle organs and tissues and its correlation with cattle characteristics and diet is urgent task. It is also important to develop intravital and low-invasive methods to analyze element content in cattle to regulate its diet during lifetime. In the present work, we have studied the content and distribution of manganese in Hereford cattle from an ecologically clean zone of Western Siberia (Russia). 252 samples were taken from 31 bulls aged 15-18 months. They were collected from various livestock farms in the region and analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometry (organs and muscle tissue) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (hair). The median values of manganese concentration obtained in natural moisture for hair, heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, muscles, spleen, testes, and brain were 25, 0.37, 1.0, 2.6, 0.4, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, and 0.5 ppm. The COVID-19 pandemic has largely undermined most economies in the world. To a significant extent the reasons behind this economic nosedive are rooted in the sphere of labour market. The imposed restriction measures made many workers stay at home, and part of them even lost their jobs. The speed of economic recovery in different countries varied depending on how quarantine restrictions were eased. One crucial factor in this process is labour market flexibility and its ability to adapt to changing economic conditions. The purpose of the paper is to explore the relationship between the labour market flexibility and the speed of GDP recovery when the pandemic was waning and the quarantine restrictions were being removed. Methodologically, the study relies on labour economics. The methods are multivariate and logistic regression analysis. The data for the study is sourced from the World Bank and Eurostat and comprises statistics for assessing labour market flexibility and GDP in various countries for 2020–2021. The findings indicate a reverse relationship between the speed of GDP growth recovery during the post-COVID period and the share of part-time employment. Yet taking into account that part-time employment is not only an indicator of the labour market flexibility, but also reflects a general slowdown in production and unemployment, we can attach low speed of recovery to a greater weakness of an economy. The obtained results are insufficient to reject the hypothesis that a more flexible labour market accelerates the recovery of a national economy. At the same time, the study demonstrates that the West European countries generally got over the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis faster than other EU countries. The research contributes to understanding the transformation processes in the labour market under the pandemic as well as provides support for labour market policy development and implementation.

The thyroid nodules (TNs) are widespread throughout the world: according to the pathological studies, they can be found in 50–60% of adults. Currently, ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and radionuclide diagnostics, such as positron emission tomography with computed tomography, are usually used to diagnose TNs in clinic. These techniques are mainly used to diagnose the nodile benignity and malignancy, the degree of invasion into adjacent tissues and metastases to lymph nodes. Thanks to the development of artificial intelligence, machine learning and the improvement of medical imaging equipment, radiomics has become a popular area of research in recent years. It allowes to obtain various quantitative characteristics from medical images, highlighting invisible features and significantly expanding the possibilities of identifying and predicting. Radiomics has a high potential in detecting and predicting TNs. We present the information on the development and workflow of radiomics. The article summarizes the application of various imaging techniques to identify benign and malignant TNs, determine invasiveness and metastases to lymph nodes, as well as some new advances in the field of molecular level and deep learning. The disadvantages of radiomics method are also given as well as prospects for its further development.

This paper summarises the inventory of biota of the western region of Ukraine in the web resource Data Centre ‘Biodiversity of Ukraine’ (DCBU) (http://dc.smnh.org), a growing biodiversity platform launched on 25 May 2017 and which organises knowledge on the biodiversity of Ukraine. The main objective and originality of DCBU is to aggregate curated biodiversity data of different kinds (e.g. scientific and vernacular names, data records of species, their geotagged geographical and biotopic distribution, conservation categories, and representation in protected areas of Ukraine). The database of the resource is primarily filled with data concerning 7 oblasts (Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia oblasts) of the western region of Ukraine, which is discussed in this article. Currently, the following number of species of living organisms has been recorded for the mentioned oblasts of the region: Volyn Oblast—1311 species/80 protected species listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine, Rivne Oblast—535/47, Lviv Oblast—3163/211, Ternopil Oblast—1081/164, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast—1942/157, Chernivtsi Oblast—672/87, and Zakarpatska Oblast—2125/149. Taxonomic accounts in the DCBU cover 5 kingdoms (Chromista, Protista, Plantae, Fungi, and Animalia), 22 phyla, 81 classes, 283 orders, 1292 families, 4741 genera, and 11 763 species. DCBU enables the following operations to be accomplished: to create species lists of different taxonomic rank of separate territorial regions and water bodies of the country and also of different time intervals, to create lists of protected and endemic species and of those that are deposited in collections of scientific institutions; to find a particular specimen according to the inventory number, to create species lists according to the type of recording/collecting, collected or determined by certain specialists, to search for literature sources concerning the Ukrainian biota, and to advanced search for all mentioned parameters as well. The accumulation of information on biodiversity, the possibility of its searching and the free access would promote the development and speed-up of scientific research, the effective control of the ecological state of the environment by the public, and sustainable development.

This organization is necessary to control the operation of all types of urban passenger transport. The prerequisites are problems in the field of urban passenger transport: poor quality of public transport services, which leads to numerous complaints and dissatisfaction of passengers. A single operator of urban passenger transportation will help solve these problems, as it will monitor the quality of services provided by carriers. The purpose: to analyze the prerequisites for creating a single operator of urban passenger transportation in modern cities. Method or methodology of the work: statistical analysis and synthesis were used in the article. Results: the problems of urban passenger transport are identified, which are prerequisites for the creation of a single operator of urban passenger transportation, namely, low indicators of the quality of passenger transport services according to various criteria Scope of application of the results: research activity on the development of new approaches in the field of organization of transportation and transport services.

In this article, the authors consider issues related to the efficiency of the use of electric transport in cities. Currently, environmentally friendly modes of transport, including means of individual mobility, are becoming increasingly relevant. To determine the prospects for the development of electric transport in cities, it is necessary to evaluate the performance indicators of its work. Based on the experience of using electric transport, it can be concluded that the development of this type of transport in the cities of our country is a promising direction. The purpose: the purpose of this study is the efficiency of the use of electric transport in cities. Within the framework of achieving the set goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks: analysis of the characteristics and effectiveness of various types of electric transport; analysis of the experience of using electric transport in urban conditions. Method or methodology of the work: when conducting research, the authors used such research methods as analysis, practical modeling. Results: to date, the following results have been achieved: comparative costs of electric transport and other types of urban transport have been analyzed. The international experience of using electric transport is analyzed. The technical characteristics of vehicles, the consumption of electrical energy, the possibility of charging and operation in urban conditions are considered. Scope of application of the results: research activity on the development of new approaches in the field of organization of transportation on vehicles with alternative energy sources.

Modern trends in the formation of a healthy lifestyle have led to the active development of technologies for the production of functional fermented milk products. The selection of a rational combination of lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria for creating starter cultures should provide products with functional properties and take into account the following criteria: the product must be safe (each microorganism included in its composition must be tested and assessed from a safety point of view, including confirmation of the absence of genes antibiotic resistance); the product must have nutritional value; the product must meet certain quantitative characteristics (amount of probiotics, acidity level, energy value). In the course of studying the features of the selection of starter cultures (lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria) in the production of functional fermented milk products, a search (using key words) for literature sources published between 2012 and April 2023 was carried out and related to the development of starter cultures and functional products. Using three search engines, 105 sources were selected and checked for compliance with the designated inclusion criteria. Among the selected sources, only 69 could be applicable for writing a review that has examined the effect of functional fermented milk products on the human body and has analyzed the potential of using lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria as a component of the starter composition.

Economic development, technological innovation, and policy change are especially prominent factors shaping energy transitions. The current stage of the energy transition is distinguished by a qualitatively new level of policy influence on all components of the energy complex. This policy affects the motivation and behavior of all stakeholders in the processes of generation, distribution, and use of energy. In terms of their importance, behavioral aspects have reached the same level as technology and energy economics. In the article, we analyze these features of the energy complex and offer modified and refined models for the innovative development of the energy complex as a socio-technical system. The proposed approach, in which the energy complex is considered a socio-technical system, can be taken into account when describing the sectoral innovation system in the energy industry. Considering the ongoing trends in digitalization and the advancement of cyber-physical systems, the general principles outlined by the authors for homogeneous production systems can be applied effectively in the management of projects related to the development of energy complex subsystems.

The aim of the study: to assess the relationship between the level of fetuin-A and features of clinical hemogram, ferrokinetic parameters, vegetative and structural-functional changes of the myocardium in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) associated with different stages of iron deficiency (ID). Materials and methods. The study involved 90 patients with CAD: stable angina pectoris II–III FC (35 men and 55 women, age – 69 (61; 72)). All patients were divided into 4 clinical groups depending on the parameters of iron metabolism and hemogram: I (n = 16) – patients with absolute ID, II (n = 15) – with latent ID, III (n = 14) – with functional ID; IV (n = 45) – patients CAD without iron metabolism disorders. The physiological concentration of fetuin-A was determined in 15 conditionally healthy people. The results of echocardioscopy, Holter ECG monitoring and their relationship with the level of fetuin-A were analyzed. Results. In patients with CAD associated with various stages of ID, there is a decrease in the concentration of fetuin-A in direct proportion to the degree of progression of sideropenia was established. It was established that there is a relationship between the level of fetuin-A and the concentration of ferritin and transferrin saturation for patients with absolute ID as well as the number of erythrocytes in patients with functional ID. It was established that there is a relationship between the level of fetuin-A and PWd (rs = -0.60, p < 0.05) for patients with absolute ID; for patients with latent ID – with the E/A ratio (rs = +0.66, p < 0.05). In patients with absolute ID and latent ID a number of correlations between fetuin-A level and heart rate variability indicators in active and passive periods was established. The presence of a low level of fetuin-A in patients with CAD and ID increased the risk of left ventricular hypertrophy by 1.5 times, left ventricular diastolic dysfunction by 1.6 times, autonomic dysfunction by 2.14 times in the active period and 1.95 times in the passive period. Conclusions. In patients with CAD, there is a progressive decrease in the fetuin-A level depending on the degree of ID, which contributes to the deepening of disorders of iron metabolism and clinical hemogram, negatively affects the structural and functional state of the myocardium and heart rate variability, increases the risk of developing myocardial hypertrophy, left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and vegetative imbalance.
