Abstract: The DUET Collaboration reports on the measurements of the absorption ($\sigma_{\mathrm{ABS}}$) and charge exchange ($\sigma_{\mathrm{CX}}$) cross sections of positively charged pions on carbon nuclei for the momentum range 201.6 MeV$/c$ to 295.1 MeV$/c$. The uncertainties on the absorption and charge exchange cross sections are $\sim$9.5\% and $\sim$18\%, respectively. The results are in good agreement with previous experiments. A covariance matrix correlating the 5 $\sigma_{\mathrm{ABS}}$ and 5 $\sigma_{\mathrm{CX}}$ measured data points is also reported, Comment: 11 pages, 15 figures. To be submitted to PRC

Abstract: The combined cross section for absorption and charge exchange interactions of positively charged pions with carbon nuclei for the momentum range 200 MeV/c to 300 MeV/c have been measured with the DUET experiment at TRIUMF. Abstract: This paper presents a measurement of the charged current interaction rate of the electron neutrino beam component of the beam above $1.5$~GeV using the large fiducial mass of the T2K $\pi^0$ detector. The predominant poriton of the $\nu_e$ flux ($\sim$85 %) at these energies comes from kaon decays. The measured ratio of the observed beam interaction rate to the predicted rate in the detector with water targets filled is 0.89 $\pm$ 0.08 (stat.) $\pm$ 0.11 (sys.), and with the water targets emptied is 0.90 $\pm$ 0.09 (stat.) $\pm$ 0.13 (sys.). The ratio obtained for the interactions on water only from an event subtraction method is 0.87 $\pm$ 0.33 (stat.) $\pm$ 0.21 (sys.). This is the first measurement of the interaction rate of electron neutrinos on water, which is particularly of interest to experiments with water Cherenkov detectors., Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures, as accepted to PRD

Abstract: We report a measurement of the $\nu_\mu$ charged current quasi-elastic cross-sections on carbon in the T2K on-axis neutrino beam. The measured charged current quasi-elastic cross-sections on carbon at mean neutrino energies of 1.94 GeV and 0.93 GeV are $(11.95\pm 0.19(stat.)_{-1.47}^{+1.82} (syst.))\times 10^{-39}\mathrm{cm}^2/\mathrm{neutron}$ and $(10.64\pm 0.37(stat.)_{-1.65}^{+2.03} (syst.))\times 10^{-39}\mathrm{cm}^2/\mathrm{neutron}$, respectively. These results agree well with the predictions of neutrino interaction models. Abstract: We report on measurements of neutrino oscillation using data from the T2K long-baseline neutrino experiment collected between 2010 and 2013. In an analysis of muon neutrino disappearance alone, we find the following estimates and 68% confidence intervals for the two possible mass hierarchies: Normal Hierarchy: $\sin^2\theta_{23}=0.514^{+0.055}_{-0.056}$ and $\Delta m^2_{32}=(2.51\pm0.10)\times 10^{-3}$ eV$^2$/c$^4$ Inverted Hierarchy: $\sin^2\theta_{23}=0.511\pm0.055$ and $\Delta m^2_{13}=(2.48\pm0.10)\times 10^{-3}$ eV$^2$/c$^4$ The analysis accounts for multi-nucleon mechanisms in neutrino interactions which were found to introduce negligible bias. We describe our first analyses that combine measurements of muon neutrino disappearance and electron neutrino appearance to estimate four oscillation parameters and the mass hierarchy. Frequentist and Bayesian intervals are presented for combinations of these parameters, with and without including recent reactor measurements. At 90% confidence level and including reactor measurements, we exclude the region: $\delta_{CP}=[0.15,0.83]\pi$ for normal hierarchy and $\delta_{CP}=[-0.08,1.09]\pi$ for inverted hierarchy. The T2K and reactor data weakly favor the normal hierarchy with a Bayes Factor of 2.2. The most probable values and 68% 1D credible intervals for the other oscillation parameters, when reactor data are included, are: $\sin^2\theta_{23}=0.528^{+0.055}_{-0.038}$ and $|\Delta m^2_{32}|=(2.51\pm0.11)\times 10^{-3}$ eV$^2$/c$^4$., Comment: 111 pages, 45 figures, submitted to Physical Review D. Abstract: The Charged-Current Quasi-Elastic (CCQE) interaction, $\nu_{l} + n \rightarrow l^{-} + p$, is the dominant CC process at $E_\nu \sim 1$ GeV and contributes to the signal in accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments operating at intermediate neutrino energies. This paper reports a measurement by the T2K experiment of the $\nu_{\mu}$ CCQE cross section on a carbon target with the off-axis detector based on the observed distribution of muon momentum ($p_\mu$) and angle with respect to the incident neutrino beam ($\theta_\mu$). The flux-integrated CCQE cross section was measured to be $(0.83 \pm 0.12) \times 10^{-38}\textrm{ cm}^{2}$ in good agreement with NEUT MC value of ${0.88 \times 10^{-38}} \textrm{ cm}^{2}$. The energy dependence of the CCQE cross section is also reported. The axial mass, $M_A^{QE}$, of the dipole axial form factor was extracted assuming the Smith-Moniz CCQE model with a relativistic Fermi gas nuclear model. Using the absolute (shape-only) $p_{\mu}cos\theta_\mu$ distribution, the effective $M_A^{QE}$ parameter was measured to be ${1.26^{+0.21}_{-0.18} \textrm{ GeV}/c^{2}}$ (${1.43^{+0.28}_{-0.22} \textrm{ GeV}/c^{2}}$).

Abstract: The T2K experiment has performed a search for $\nu_e$ disappearance due to sterile neutrinos using $5.9 \times 10^{20}$ protons on target for a baseline of $280 m$ in a neutrino beam peaked at about $500 MeV$. A sample of \nu_e CC interactions in the off-axis near detector has been selected with a purity of 63\% and an efficiency of 26\%. The p-value for the null hypothesis is 0.085 and the excluded region at 95\% CL is approximately $sin^2 2 \theta_{ee} > 0.3$ for $\Delta m^2_{eff} > 7 eV^2 / c^4$., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PRD rapid communication

Abstract: The observation of the recent electron neutrino appearance in a muon neutrino beam and the high-precision measurement of the mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ have led to a re-evaluation of the physics potential of the T2K long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment. Sensitivities are explored for CP violation in neutrinos, non-maximal $\sin^22\theta_{23}$, the octant of $\theta_{23}$, and the mass hierarchy, in addition to the measurements of $\delta_{CP}$, $\sin^2\theta_{23}$, and $\Delta m^2_{32}$, for various combinations of $\nu$-mode and $\bar{\nu}$-mode data-taking. With an exposure of $7.8\times10^{21}$~protons-on-target, T2K can achieve 1-$\sigma$ resolution of 0.050(0.054) on $\sin^2\theta_{23}$ and $0.040(0.045)\times10^{-3}~\rm{eV}^2$ on $\Delta m^2_{32}$ for 100\%(50\%) neutrino beam mode running assuming $\sin^2\theta_{23}=0.5$ and $\Delta m^2_{32} = 2.4\times10^{-3}$ eV$^2$. T2K will have sensitivity to the CP-violating phase $\delta_{\rm{CP}}$ at 90\% C.L. or better over a significant range. For example, if $\sin^22\theta_{23}$ is maximal (i.e $\theta_{23}$=$45^\circ$) the range is $-115^\circ<\delta_{\rm{CP}}<-60^\circ$ for normal hierarchy and $+50^\circ<\delta_{\rm{CP}}<+130^\circ$ for inverted hierarchy. When T2K data is combined with data from the NO$\nu$A experiment, the region of oscillation parameter space where there is sensitivity to observe a non-zero $\delta_{CP}$ is substantially increased compared to if each experiment is analyzed alone., Comment: 40 pages, 27 figures, accepted by PTEP

Abstract: The T2K off-axis near detector, ND280, is used to make the first differential cross-section measurements of electron neutrino charged current interactions at energies ~1 GeV as a function of electron momentum, electron scattering angle and four-momentum transfer of the interaction. The total flux-averaged $\nu_e$ charged current cross-section on carbon is measured to be $1.11\pm0.09~(stat)\pm0.18~(syst)\times10^{-38} cm^2/nucleon$. The differential and total cross-section measurements agree with the predictions of two leading neutrino interaction generators, NEUT and GENIE. The NEUT prediction is $1.23\times10^{-38} cm^2/nucleon$ and the GENIE prediction is $1.08\times10^{-38} cm^2/nucleon$. Abstract: We report a measurement of the $\nu_\mu$ inclusive charged current cross sections on iron and hydrocarbon in the T2K on-axis neutrino beam. The measured inclusive charged current cross sections on iron and hydrocarbon averaged over the T2K on-axis flux with a mean neutrino energy of 1.51 GeV are $(1.444\pm0.002(stat.)_{-0.157}^{+0.189}(syst.))\times 10^{-38}\mathrm{cm}^2/\mathrm{nucleon}$, and $(1.379\pm0.009(stat.)_{-0.147}^{+0.178}(syst.))\times 10^{-38}\mathrm{cm}^2/\mathrm{nucleon}$, respectively, and their cross section ratio is $1.047\pm0.007(stat.)\pm0.035(syst.)$. These results agree well with the predictions of the neutrino interaction model, and thus we checked the correct treatment of the nuclear effect for iron and hydrocarbon targets in the model within the measurement precisions., Comment: 15 pages, 17 figures

Abstract: We report the first measurement of the neutrino-oxygen neutral-current quasielastic (NCQE) cross section. It is obtained by observing nuclear deexcitation $\gamma$-rays which follow neutrino-oxygen interactions at the Super-Kamiokande water Cherenkov detector. We use T2K data corresponding to $3.01 \times 10^{20}$ protons on target. By selecting only events during the T2K beam window and with well-reconstructed vertices in the fiducial volume, the large background rate from natural radioactivity is dramatically reduced. We observe 43 events in the $4-30$ MeV reconstructed energy window, compared with an expectation of 51.0, which includes an estimated 16.2 background events. The background is primarily nonquasielastic neutral-current interactions and has only 1.2 events from natural radioactivity. The flux-averaged NCQE cross section we measure is $1.55 \times 10^{-38}$ cm$^2$ with a 68\% confidence interval of $(1.22, 2.20) \times 10^{-38}$ cm$^2$ at a median neutrino energy of 630 MeV, compared with the theoretical prediction of $2.01 \times 10^{-38}$ cm$^2$., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: The T2K experiment has reported the first observation of the appearance of electron neutrinos in a muon neutrino beam. The main and irreducible background to the appearance signal comes from the presence in the neutrino beam of a small intrinsic component of electron neutrinos originating from muon and kaon decays. In T2K, this component is expected to represent 1.2% of the total neutrino flux. A measurement of this component using the near detector (ND280), located 280 m from the target, is presented. The charged current interactions of electron neutrinos are selected by combining the particle identification capabilities of both the time projection chambers and electromagnetic calorimeters of ND280. The measured ratio between the observed electron neutrino beam component and the prediction is 1.01+-0.10 providing a direct confirmation of the neutrino fluxes and neutrino cross section modeling used for T2K neutrino oscillation analyses. Electron neutrinos coming from muons and kaons decay are also separately measured, resulting in a ratio with respect to the prediction of 0.68+-0.30 and 1.10+-0.14, respectively., Comment: 19 pages, 19 figures

Abstract: New data from the T2K neutrino oscillation experiment produce the most precise measurement of the neutrino mixing parameter theta_{23}. Using an off-axis neutrino beam with a peak energy of 0.6 GeV and a data set corresponding to 6.57 x 10^{20} protons on target, T2K has fit the energy-dependent nu_mu oscillation probability to determine oscillation parameters. Marginalizing over the values of other oscillation parameters yields sin^2 (theta_{23}) = 0.514 +0.055/-0.056 (0.511 +- 0.055), assuming normal (inverted) mass hierarchy. The best-fit mass-squared splitting for normal hierarchy is Delta m^2_{32} = (2.51 +- 0.10) x 10^{-3} eV^2/c^4 (inverted hierarchy: Delta m^2_{13} = (2.48 +- 0.10) x 10^{-3} eV^2/c^4). Adding a model of multinucleon interactions that affect neutrino energy reconstruction is found to produce only small biases in neutrino oscillation parameter extraction at current levels of statistical uncertainty., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures. Abstract: The T2K experiment has observed electron neutrino appearance in a muon neutrino beam produced 295 km from the Super-Kamiokande detector with a peak energy of 0.6 GeV. A total of 28 electron neutrino events were detected with an energy distribution consistent with an appearance signal, corresponding to a significance of 7.3$\sigma$ when compared to 4.92 $\pm$ 0.55 expected background events. In the PMNS mixing model, the electron neutrino appearance signal depends on several parameters including three mixing angles $\theta_{12}$, $\theta_{23}$, $\theta_{13}$, a mass difference $\Delta m^2_{32}$ and a CP violating phase $\delta_{\mathrm{CP}}$. In this neutrino oscillation scenario, assuming $|\Delta m^2_{32}| = 2.4 \times 10^{-3}$ $\rm eV^2$, $\sin^2 \theta_{23} = 0.5$, and $\Delta m^2_{32} >0$ ($\Delta m^2_{32} <0$), a best-fit value of $\sin^2 2 \theta_{13}$ = $0.140^{+0.038}_{-0.032}$ ($0.170^{+0.045}_{-0.037}$) is obtained at $\delta_{\mathrm{CP}}=0$. When combining the result with the current best knowledge of oscillation parameters including the world average value of $\theta_{13}$ from reactor experiments, some values of $\delta_{\mathrm{CP}}$ are disfavored at the 90% CL., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: The T2K collaboration reports a precision measurement of muon neutrino disappearance with an off-axis neutrino beam with a peak energy of 0.6 GeV. Near detector measurements are used to constrain the neutrino flux and cross section parameters. The Super-Kamiokande far detector, which is 295 km downstream of the neutrino production target, collected data corresponding to $3.01 \times 10^{20}$ protons on target. In the absence of neutrino oscillations, $205 \pm 17$ (syst.) events are expected to be detected and only 58 muon neutrino event candidates are observed. A fit to the neutrino rate and energy spectrum assuming three neutrino flavors, normal mass hierarchy and $\theta_{23}\leq \pi/4$ yields a best-fit mixing angle $\sin^2(2\theta_{23})=1.000$ and mass splitting $|\Delta m^2_{32}| =2.44 \times 10^{-3}$ eV$^2$/c$^4$. If $\theta_{23}\geq \pi/4$ is assumed, the best-fit mixing angle changes to $\sin^2(2\theta_{23})=0.999$ and the mass splitting remains unchanged., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, revised version accepted for publication in Physical Review Letters

Abstract: The T2K collaboration: reports evidence for electron neutrino appearance at the atmospheric mass splitting, |\Delta m_{32}^2|=2.4x10^{-3} eV^2. An excess of electron neutrino interactions over background is observed from a muon neutrino beam with a peak energy of 0.6 GeV at the Super-Kamiokande (SK) detector 295 km from the beam's origin. Signal and background predictions are constrained by data from near detectors located 280 m from the neutrino production target. We observe 11 electron neutrino candidate events at the SK detector when a background of 3.3\pm0.4(syst.) events is expected. The background-only hypothesis is rejected with a p-value of 0.0009 (3.1\sigma), and a fit assuming \nu_{\mu}->\nu_e oscillations with sin^2(2\theta_{23})=1, \delta_{CP}=0 and |\Delta m_{32}^2|=2.4x10^{-3} eV^2 yields sin^2(2\theta_{13})=0.088^{+0.049}_{-0.039}(stat.+syst.)., Comment: 43 pages, 41 figures

Abstract: T2K has performed the first measurement of \nu{\mu} inclusive charged current interactions on carbon at neutrino energies of ~1 GeV where the measurement is reported as a flux-averaged double differential cross section in muon momentum and angle. The flux is predicted by the beam Monte Carlo and external data, including the results from the NA61/SHINE experiment. The data used for this measurement were taken in 2010 and 2011, with a total of 10.8 x 10^{19} protons-on-target. The analysis is performed on 4485 inclusive charged current interaction candidates selected in the most upstream fine-grained scintillator detector of the near detector. The flux-averaged total cross section is <\sigma_CC>_\phi =(6.91 +/- 0.13 (stat) +/- 0.84 (syst)) x10^{-39} cm^2/nucleon for a mean neutrino energy of 0.85 GeV.

Abstract: Intestinal fibrostenosis is among the hallmarks of severe Crohn's disease. Patients with certain TNFSF15 (gene name for TL1A) variants over-express TL1A and have a higher risk of developing strictures in the small intestine. In addition, sustained Tl1a expression in mice leads to small and large intestinal fibrostenosis under colitogenic conditions. The aim of this study was to determine whether established murine colonic fibrosis could be reversed with Tl1a antibody (Ab). Treatment with neutralizing Tl1a Ab reversed colonic fibrosis back to the original pre-inflamed levels, potentially as a result of lowered expression of connective tissue growth factor, Il31Ra, transforming growth factor β1 and insulin-like growth factor-1. In addition, blocking Tl1a function by either neutralizing Tl1a Ab or deletion of death domain receptor 3 (Dr3) reduced the number of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts, the primary cell types that mediate tissue fibrosis. Primary intestinal myofibroblasts expressed Dr3 and functionally responded to direct Tl1a signaling by increasing collagen and Il31Ra expression. These data demonstrated a direct role for TL1A-DR3 signaling in tissue fibrosis and that modulation of TL1A-DR3 signaling could inhibit gut fibrosis.

Abstract: The Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) experiment studies neutrino oscillations using an off-axis muon neutrino beam with a peak energy of about 0.6 GeV that originates at the J-PARC accelerator facility. Interactions of the neutrinos are observed at near detectors placed at 280 m from the production target and at the far detector -- Super-Kamiokande (SK) -- located 295 km away. The flux prediction is an essential part of the successful prediction of neutrino interaction rates at the T2K detectors and is an important input to T2K neutrino oscillation and cross section measurements. A FLUKA and GEANT3 based simulation models the physical processes involved in the neutrino production, from the interaction of primary beam protons in the T2K target, to the decay of hadrons and muons that produce neutrinos. The simulation uses proton beam monitor measurements as inputs. The modeling of hadronic interactions is re-weighted using thin target hadron production data, including recent charged pion and kaon measurements from the NA61/SHINE experiment. For the first T2K analyses the uncertainties on the flux prediction are evaluated to be below 15% near the flux peak. We focus on the mechanism in which the soft-gluon component of the chiral-odd spin-independent twist-3 quark distribution E_F(x,x) becomes a source of the polarized quark fragmenting into the polarized \Lambda. Our simple model estimate for this contribution indicates that it gives rise to a significant \Lambda polarization at large x_F. Abstract: We present a calculation of the two-loop anomalous dimension for the transversity distribution $h_1(x,Q^2)$, $\gamma^{h(1)}_n$, in the MS scheme of the dimensional regularization. Because of the chiral-odd nature, $h_1$ does not mix with the gluon distributions, and thus our result is the same for the flavor-singlet and nonsinglet distributions. 29. Bag Model Prediction for the Nucleon's Chiral-odd Twist-3 Distribution h_L(x,Q^2) at High Q^2

Abstract: We study the Q^2 evolution of the nucleon's chiral-odd twist-3 distribution h_L(x,Q^2) starting from the MIT bag model calculation. A simple GLAP equation for h_L(x,Q^2) obtained at large N_c is used for the Q^2 evolution. The correction due to the finite value of N_c is O(1/N_c^2)\sim 10% level. It turns out that the twist-3 contribution to h_L(x,Q^2) is significantly reduced at Q^2=10 GeV^2 in contrast to the g_2(x,Q^2) case. Abstract: Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil producers in the world. The palm oil industry must look at the market competition map, starting from competing countries and other export opportunities to absorb palm oil products to increase state revenues. This paper analyzes the new challenges and opportunities for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) in Indonesia in international trade. Analytical tools were Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA), Dynamic Product Export and X-model Potential Export. The results showed that Indonesian and Malaysian palm oil commodities obtained an RCA value of more than 1 and an RSCA value of close to 1. Indonesia is more competitive than Malaysia. The X-model showed that Indonesian CPO market share optimism is only in India and the rest is less potent. Malaysian CPO market share also has less potential. Therefore, Indonesia’s new challenges are export tariffs, obstructed access, insufficient downstream production and a black campaign. The opportunity for participation in the CPO export market is only in India compared to Malaysia, which has less potential. The two countries have less potential in destinations such as the Netherlands, USA, China and Kenya. Indonesia can take external policies by establishing cooperation with export destination countries, such as trade agreements, so that information about Indonesian palm oil is well received. Meanwhile, internal policies strengthen domestic downstream industry policies, such as the food, health, and renewable energy industries, to strengthen the domestic economy and improve the welfare of Indonesian palm oil farmers.

Abstract: This paper reports a measurement by the T2K experiment of the ν μ charged current quasielastic (CCQE) cross section on a carbon target with the off-axis detector based on the observed distribution of muon momentum ( p μ ) and angle with respect to the incident neutrino beam ( θ μ ). The flux-integrated CCQE cross section was measured to be ⟨ σ ⟩ = ( 0.83 ± 0.12 ) × 10 − 38 cm 2 . The energy dependence of the CCQE cross section is also reported. The axial mass, M QE A , of the dipole axial form factor was extracted assuming the Smith-Moniz CCQE model with a relativistic Fermi gas nuclear model. Using the absolute (shape-only) p μ − cos θ μ distribution, the effective M QE A parameter was measured to be 1.2 6 + 0.21 − 0.18 GeV / c 2 ( 1.4 3 + 0.28 − 0.22 GeV / c 2 ).

Abstract: Childhood anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) accounts for approx. 10-30% of cases of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and the ALCL99 study reported 60-75 disease-free survival; however, a relatively high relapse rate was observed (25-30% ). We report 2 patients with Stage III ALCL who relapsed 6-18 months after the end of ALCL99 chemotherapy. A retrospective molecular analysis identified the nucleophosmin (NPM)-anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) fusion gene in the first diagnostic bone marrow samples taken from both patients. However, antibodies against the ALK protein appeared to be relatively low in the serum of both patients (×100 and ×750). An increase in chemotherapy intensity may be beneficial if Stage III ALCL patients are shown to be NPM-ALK chimera-positive in the first diagnostic bone marrow sample.

Abstract: OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to evaluate the internal cesium (Cs) level among pregnant women in Minamisoma City (the area straddling the evacuation zones) over a 5-year period after Japan's 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident and assess the status and transition of their food-acquiring preferences during this period. DESIGN: A retrospective observational study of a screening along with a questionnaire survey. SETTING: This study was conducted in an obstetrics and gynaecology service in Minamisoma City in Fukushima, Japan. PARTICIPANTS: Participants included pregnant women who applied for the voluntary internal radiation exposure screening programme. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES: Internal radiation exposure was evaluated using the whole-body counter (WBC) in the screening programme. Data from a food acquisition preference questionnaire administered to the participants were analysed and compared across the 5-year period after adjusting for covariates. RESULTS: Overall, 804 screening programmes were conducted with 579 participants during the study period. All participants had internal contamination levels below the detection limit of the WBC unit (220 and 250 Bq/body for Cs-134 and Cs-137, respectively). Based on the most conservative assumption, their maximum annual effective doses by Cs-134 and Cs-137 together were estimated at 16 µSv/year. Contrary to limited internal contamination risks and counter-dose initiatives by the government, a considerable number of pregnant women were still concerned about consuming potentially contaminated local food products when purchasing them at supermarkets between 2012 (78.4%) and 2015 (75.0%). CONCLUSIONS: Health effects from post-accident internal radiation exposure were likely to be insignificant in pregnant women. National/local action is urgently needed to promote scientific understanding in pregnant women regarding limited internal exposure risks from local food products in the market. Abstract: The treatment of patients with congenital leukemia is difficult and often results in a poor prognosis. We present here the case of a female child with congenital acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with t(8 ; 16) (p11 ; p13) who received chemotherapy and survived for more than 10 years without relapse. A novel MOZ-CBP chimera was found in her diagnostic sample. Although adult AML patients with MOZ-CBP have mainly been reported as having therapy-related AML and showed poor prognoses, the present case supports the idea that AML with MOZ-CBP in the pediatric population might show better prognoses.

41. Can a disaster affect rheumatoid arthritis status? A retrospective cohort study after the 2011 triple disaster in Fukushima, Japan

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: As status of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is highly affected by environmental factors, a catastrophic disaster may also affect RA activity. Herein we conducted a retrospective cohort study in the disaster area of the 2011 triple disaster in Fukushima, Japan: an earthquake, tsunamis and a nuclear accident. METHODS: Clinical records of RA patients who attended a hospital near the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant were collected. For those who underwent whole-body counter testing, internal radiation exposure levels were also collected. As clinical parameters may fluctuate in the absence of a disaster, changes in values before and after the disaster were also compared. Logistic regression was conducted to identify factors affecting RA status. RESULTS: Fifty-three patients (average age, 64.2 years; females, 83%; average disease duration, 15.7 years) were included in the study. Five patients lived within the no-entry zone, 37 evacuated immediately after the disaster, and four temporarily stopped RA treatment. The proportions of patients who showed worsened tender joint counts, swollen joint counts and rheumatoid factor values were significantly higher after the disaster compared to those before. Among the 16 patients who underwent whole-body counter testing, only one showed a detectable, but negligible, radioactive cesium level. Use of methotrexate was identified as a possible preventive factor for RA exacerbation in this setting. CONCLUSION: This is the first study to analyze detailed profiles of RA patients after a disaster. As methotrexate may prevent disease exacerbation, continuity of care for this common chronic disease should be considered in disaster settings.

Abstract: We report on measurements of neutrino oscillation using data from the T2K long-baseline neutrino experiment collected between 2010 and 2013. In an analysis of muon neutrino disappearance alone, we find the following estimates and 68% confidence intervals for the two possible mass hierarchies: normal hierarchy: sin2θ23=0.514-0.056+0.055 and Δm322=(2.51±0.10)×10-3 eV2/c4 and inverted hierarchy: sin2θ23=0.511±0.055 and Δm132=(2.48±0.10)×10-3 eV2/c4. The analysis accounts for multinucleon mechanisms in neutrino interactions which were found to introduce negligible bias. We describe our first analyses that combine measurements of muon neutrino disappearance and electron neutrino appearance to estimate four oscillation parameters, |Δm2|, sin2θ23, sin2θ13, δCP, and the mass hierarchy. Frequentist and Bayesian intervals are presented for combinations of these parameters, with and without including recent reactor measurements. At 90% confidence level and including reactor measurements, we exclude the region δCP=[0.15,0.83]π for normal hierarchy and δCP=[-0.08,1.09]π for inverted hierarchy. The T2K and reactor data weakly favor the normal hierarchy with a Bayes factor of 2.2. The most probable values and 68% one-dimensional credible intervals for the other oscillation parameters, when reactor data are included, are sin2θ23=0.528-0.038+0.055 and |Δm322|=(2.51±0.11)×10-3 eV2/c4.

43. Breast cancer patient delay in Fukushima, Japan following the 2011 triple disaster: a long-term retrospective study

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Little information is available concerning how patient delay may be affected by mass disasters. The main objectives of the present study are to identify whether there was a post-disaster increase in the risk of experiencing patient delay among breast cancer patients in an area affected by the 2011 triple disaster in Fukushima, Japan, and to elucidate factors associated with post-disaster patient delay. Sociodemographic factors (age, employment status, cohabitant status and evacuation status), health characteristics, and health access- and disaster-related factors were specifically considered. METHODS: Records of symptomatic breast cancer patients diagnosed from 2005 to 2016 were retrospectively reviewed to calculate risk ratios (RRs) for patient delay in every year post-disaster compared with the pre-disaster baseline. Total and excessive patient delays were respectively defined as three months or more and twelve months or more from symptom recognition to first medical consultation. Logistic regression analysis was conducted for pre- and post-disaster patient delay in order to reveal any factors potentially associated with patient delay, and changes after the disaster. RESULTS: Two hundred nineteen breast cancer patients (122 pre-disaster and 97 post-disaster) were included. After adjustments for age, significant post-disaster increases in RRs of experiencing both total (RR: 1.66, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): 1.02-2.70, p < 0.05) and excessive patient delay (RR: 4.49, 95% CI: 1.73-11.65, p < 0.01) were observed. The RRs for total patient delay peaked in the fourth year post-disaster, and significant increases in the risk of excessive patient delay were observed in the second, fourth, and fifth years post-disaster, with more than five times the risk observed pre-disaster. 44. Birth Outcomes after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Disaster: A Long-Term Retrospective Study

Abstract: Changes in population birth outcomes, including increases in low birthweight or preterm births, have been documented after natural and manmade disasters. However, information is limited following the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant Disaster. In this study, we assessed whether there were long-term changes in birth outcomes post-disaster, compared to pre-disaster data, and whether residential area and food purchasing patterns, as proxy measurements of evacuation and radiation-related anxiety, were associated with post-disaster birth outcomes. Maternal and perinatal data were retrospectively collected for all live singleton births at a public hospital, located 23 km from the power plant, from 2008 to 2015. Proportions of low birthweight (<2500 g at birth) and preterm births (<37 weeks gestation at birth) were compared pre- and post-disaster, and regression models were conducted to assess for associations between these outcomes and evacuation and food avoidance. A total of 1101 live singleton births were included. There were no increased proportions of low birthweight or preterm births in any year after the disaster (merged post-disaster risk ratio of low birthweight birth: 0.98, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.64-1.51; and preterm birth: 0.68, 95% CI: 0.38-1.21). No significant associations between birth outcomes and residential area or food purchasing patterns were identified, after adjustment for covariates. In conclusion, no changes in birth outcomes were found in this institution-based investigation after the Fukushima disaster. Further research is needed on the pathways that may exacerbate or reduce disaster effects on maternal and perinatal health.

Abstract: Hydroponics is an agricultural cultivation technique that uses water as a planting medium and with a special installation system that minimizes the use of chemicals in the cultivation process. Hydroponic healthy vegetable business is a hydroponic business located in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi. Previously, this business operated alone in terms of marketing and cultivation which resulted in not optimal income obtained with existing resources. Existence of PT Antam operating in the Pomalaa area is expected to help hydroponic businesses with the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). PT Antam has as a form of their responsibility towards the surrounding environment where the company is located. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the implementation of CSR partnership PT. Antam Tbk for the Hydroponic Healthy Vegetable business using a quantitative descriptive analysis research method, namely by observing the research location and processing data using the R/C formula. The results of this study indicate that R/C > 1, which means that the demand is greater than the costs incurred, or in other words, every IDR 1 cost incurred can generate revenue of IDR 3.85, so it can be concluded that the Hydroponic Healthy Vegetable business is feasible for developed and generate profits for farmers.

Abstract: We report on measurements of neutrino oscillation using data from the T2K long-baseline neutrino experiment collected between 2010 and 2013. In an analysis of muon neutrino disappearance alone, we find the following estimates and 68% confidence intervals for the two possible mass hierarchies: normal hierarchy: sin2θ23=0.514\ud +0.055\ud −0.056 and Δm\ud 2\ud 32=(2.51±0.10)×10−3 eV2/c4 and inverted hierarchy: sin2θ23=0.511±0.055 and Δm\ud 2\ud 13=(2.48±0.10)×10−3 eV2/c4. The analysis accounts for multinucleon mechanisms in neutrino interactions which were found to introduce negligible bias. We describe our first analyses that combine measurements of muon neutrino disappearance and electron neutrino appearance to estimate four oscillation parameters, |Δm2|, sin2θ23, sin2θ13, δCP, and the mass hierarchy. Frequentist and Bayesian intervals are presented for combinations of these parameters, with and without including recent reactor measurements. At 90% confidence level and including reactor measurements, we exclude the region δCP=[0.15,0.83]π for normal hierarchy and δCP=[−0.08,1.09]π for inverted hierarchy. The T2K and reactor data weakly favor the normal hierarchy with a Bayes factor of 2.2. The most probable values and 68% one-dimensional credible intervals for the other oscillation parameters, when reactor data are included, are sin2θ23=0.528\ud +0.055\ud −0.038 and |Δm\ud 2\ud 32|=(2.51±0.11)×10−3 eV2/c4.

Abstract: International audience; The Charged-Current Quasi-Elastic (CCQE) interaction, $\nu_{l} + n \rightarrow l^{-} + p$, is the dominant CC process at $E_\nu \sim 1$ GeV and contributes to the signal in accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments operating at intermediate neutrino energies. This paper reports a measurement by the T2K experiment of the $\nu_{\mu}$ CCQE cross section on a carbon target with the off-axis detector based on the observed distribution of muon momentum ($p_\mu$) and angle with respect to the incident neutrino beam ($\theta_\mu$). The flux-integrated CCQE cross section was measured to be $(0.83 \pm 0.12) \times 10^{-38}\textrm{ cm}^{2}$ in good agreement with NEUT MC value of ${0.88 \times 10^{-38}} \textrm{ cm}^{2}$. The energy dependence of the CCQE cross section is also reported. The axial mass, $M_A^{QE}$, of the dipole axial form factor was extracted assuming the Smith-Moniz CCQE model with a relativistic Fermi gas nuclear model. Using the absolute (shape-only) $p_{\mu}cos\theta_\mu$ distribution, the effective $M_A^{QE}$ parameter was measured to be ${1.26^{+0.21}_{-0.18} \textrm{ GeV}/c^{2}}$ (${1.43^{+0.28}_{-0.22} \textrm{ GeV}/c^{2}}$).

50. Sociodemographic patterning of long-term diabetes mellitus control following Japan's 3.11 triple disaster: a retrospective cohort study

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To assess the sociodemographic patterning of changes in glycaemic control of patients with diabetes affected by the 2011 triple disaster in Japan (earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident). METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was undertaken with 404 patients with diabetes at a public hospital in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture. Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) levels were measured in 2010, 2011 and 2012 to capture changes in glycaemic control postdisaster. Age, sex, urban/rural residency, evacuation status and medication use were also assessed. RESULTS: There was an overall deterioration in glycaemic control after the disaster, with the mean HbA1c rising from 6.77% in 2010 to 6.90% in 2012 (National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program, NGSP). Rural residency was associated with a lower likelihood of deteriorating control (OR 0.34, 95% CI 0.13 to 0.84), compared with urban residency. Older age (OR 0.95, 95% CI 0.91 to 0.98) was also slightly protective against increased HbA1c. Evacuation and sex were not significant predictors. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with diabetes who were affected by Japan's triple disaster experienced a deterioration in their glycaemic control following the disasters. The extent of this deterioration was mediated by sociodemographic factors, with rural residence and older age protective against the effects of the disaster on glycaemic control. These results may be indicative of underlying social determinants of health in rural Japan.
