Abstract With the continuous development of economy, engineering construction is developing towards deep high-stress area, and the problems of large-deformation engineering are becoming more and more serious. Anchoring grouting is a very effective support reinforcement method. The anchoring grouting materials used in the project are mainly cement paste and cement mortar. The characteristics of the grouting material have a decisive influence on the grouting effect. However, it is difficult for the existing grouting materials to satisfy the requirements of strength and deformation at the same time, and improvement is urgently needed. Polycaprolactone (PCL) is an organic polymer material of good engineering properties, including high ductility, good stability and strong impact resistance. In this paper, PCL was added as an auxiliary additive to cement-based materials innovatively, and the mechanical test and micro-test of PCL-cement-based materials were carried out. The results show that adding PCL can significantly increase the compressive strength of cement paste. By adjusting the content of PCL, the strength and ductility of cement mortar can be effectively improved. When the content of PCL is 15%, ideal high performance cement mortar material can be obtained. Anchor grouting is a very effective reinforcement and support method.

The boundary layer transition process induced by different heights and quantities of the cylindrical roughness elements at Mach 3.0 is investigated experimentally by using the nano-tracer-based planar laser scattering (NPLS) technique. Fine structures of the boundary layers of both streamwise and spanwise induced by the cylindrical roughness elements in the supersonic flow are obtained, and the development of the boundary layer in the roughness element wakes is observed. The boundary layer after reattachment will keep the laminar state within a certain distance, meanwhile hairpin vortexes can be observed clearly during the development of the boundary layer. The fractal theory is used to quantitatively analyze the NPLS images of the boundary layer. This method can achieve the positions of the boundary layer transition in several cases. The research results show that the interaction between multiple roughness elements can inhibit the boundary layer transition and the evolution of hairpin vortexes. However, when the roughness elements on both sides are higher than those in the middle, the interaction between roughness elements has no obvious inhibitory effects on the development of the boundary layer.

The field of fluorescence sensing, leveraging various supramolecular self-assembled architectures constructed from macrocyclic pillar[n]arenes, has seen significant advancement in recent decades. This review comprehensively discusses, for the first time, the recent innovations in the synthesis and self-assembly of pillar[n]arene-based supramolecular architectures (PSAs) containing metal coordination sites, along with their practical applications and prospects in fluorescence sensing. Integrating hydrophobic and electron-rich cavities of pillar[n]arenes into these supramolecular structures endows the entire system with self-assembly behavior and stimulus responsiveness. Employing the host–guest interaction strategy and complementary coordination forces, PSAs exhibiting both intelligent and controllable properties are successfully constructed. This provides a broad horizon for advancing fluorescence sensors capable of detecting environmental pollutants. This review aims to establish a solid foundation for the future development of fluorescence sensing applications utilizing PSAs. Supramolecular chemistry enables the manipulation of functional components on a molecular scale, facilitating a "bottom-up" approach to govern the sizes and structures of supramolecular materials. Using dynamic non-covalent interactions, supramolecular polymers can create materials with reversible and degradable characteristics and the abilities to self-heal and respond to external stimuli. Pillar[n]arene represents a novel class of macrocyclic hosts, emerging after cyclodextrins, crown ethers, calixarenes, and cucurbiturils. Its significance lies in its distinctive structure, comparing an electron-rich cavity and two finely adjustable rims, which has sparked considerable interest. Furthermore, the straightforward synthesis, uncomplicated functionalization, and remarkable properties of pillar[n]arene based on supramolecular interactions make it an excellent candidate for material construction, particularly in generating interpenetrating supramolecular polymers. Polymers resulting from supramolecular interactions involving pillar[n]arene find potential in various applications, including fluorescence sensors, substance adsorption and separation, catalysis, light-harvesting systems, artificial nanochannels, and drug delivery. In this context, we provide an overview of these recent frontier research fields in the use of pillar[n]arene-based supramolecular polymers, which serves as a source of inspiration for the creation of innovative functional polymer materials derived from pillar[n]arene derivatives. The use of low-dimensional inorganic or organic nanomaterials has advantages for DNA and protein recognition due to their sensitivity, accuracy, and physical size matching. In this research, poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MT) nanowires (NWs) are electrochemically prepared with dopant followed by functionalization with probe DNA (pDNA) sequence through electrostatic interaction. Various lengths of pDNA sequences (10-, 20- and 30-mer) are conjugated to the P3MT NWs respectively followed with hybridization with their complementary target DNA (tDNA) sequences. The nanoscale photoluminescence (PL) properties of the P3MT NWs are studied throughout the whole process at solid state. In addition, the correlation between the PL enhancement and the double helix DNA with various lengths is demonstrated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of organic sulfur compounds over tungsten oxide supported on highly ordered mesoporous SnO 2 (WO x /meso-SnO 2 ) was investigated. A series of WO x /meso-SnO 2 with WO x contents from 10 wt% to 30 wt%, were prepared by conventional wet impregnation. The physico-chemical properties of the WO x /meso-SnO 2 catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, and the temperature-programmed reduction of hydrogen (H 2 -TPR). The characterization results indicated that these catalysts possessed mesoporous structures with uniform pores, high specific surface areas, and well-dispersed polyoxotungstate species on the surface of meso-SnO 2 support. The ODS performances were evaluated in a biphasic system (model oil/acetonitrile, S initial = 2000 ppm), using H 2 O 2 as an oxidant, and acetonitrile as an extractant. Dibenzothiophene (DBT) in the model oil was removed completely within 60 min at 50 °C using 20 wt% WO x /meso-SnO 2 catalyst. Additionally, the effect of reaction temperature, H 2 O 2 /DBT molar ratio, amount of catalyst and different sulfur-containing substrates on the catalytic performances were also investigated in detail. More importantly, the 20 wt% WO x /meso-SnO 2 catalyst exhibited 100% surfur-removal efficiency without any regeneration process, even after six times recycling., Competing Interests: There are no conflicts to declare., (This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry.)

A series of bent-shaped molecules, consisting of dibenzo[ a,c ]phenazine and phenyl groups connected together as a rod segment, and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with a degree of polymerization (DP) of 6 as the coil segment, were synthesized. The self-assembling behavior of these molecules by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal optical polarized microscopy (POM), small-angle X-ray scattering spectroscopy (SAXS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), revealed that carboxyl or butoxy carbonyl groups at the 11 position of dibenzo[ a,c ]phenazine noticeably influence self-organization of molecules into supramolecular aggregates in bulk and aqueous solutions. Molecules 1 and 2 with chiral or non-chiral PEO coil chains and the carboxyl group at the rod segments self-organize into a hexagonal perforated lamellar structure and a hexagonal columnar structure in the solid state. In aqueous solution, molecules 1 and 2 self-assemble into diverse lengths of nanofibers, whereas molecules 3 and 4 with butoxy carbonyl groups exhibit a self-organizing capacity to form diverse sizes of spherical aggregates., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflict of interest.

In this paper, we report the synthesis and self-assembly behavior of coil-rod-coil molecules, consisting of three biphenyls linked through a vinylene unit as a conjugated rod segment and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with a degree of polymerization (DP) of 7, 12 and 17, incorporating lateral methyl groups between the rod and coil segments as the coil segment. Self-organized investigation of these molecules by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal polarized optical microscopy (POM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) reveals that the lateral methyl groups attached to the surface of rod and coil segments, dramatically influence the self-assembling behavior in the liquid-crystalline mesophase. Molecule 1 with a relatively short PEO coil length (DP=7) self-assembles into rectangular and oblique 2-dimensional columnar assemblies, whereas molecules 2 and 3 with DP of 12 and 17 respectively, spontaneously self-organize into unusual 3-dimensional hexagonal close-packed or body-centered tetragonal assemblies.
