We study the random walk on dynamical percolation of $\mathbb{Z}^d$ (resp., the two-dimensional triangular lattice $\mathcal{T}$), where each edge (resp., each site) can be either open or closed, refreshing its status at rate $\mu\in (0,1/e]$. The random walk moves along open edges in $\mathbb{Z}^d$ (resp., open sites in $\mathcal{T}$) at rate $1$. For the critical regime $p=p_c$, we prove the following two results: on $\mathcal{T}$, the mean squared displacement of the random walk from $0$ to $t$ is at most $O(t\mu^{5/132-\epsilon})$ for any $\epsilon>0$; on $\mathbb{Z}^d$ with $d\geq 11$, the corresponding upper bound for the mean squared displacement is $O(t \mu^{1/2}\log(1/\mu))$. Let $G$ be a nonamenable transitive unimodular graph. In dynamical percolation, every edge in $G$ refreshes its status at rate $\mu>0$, and following the refresh, each edge is open independently with probability $p$. The random walk traverses $G$ only along open edges, moving at rate $1$. In the critical regime $p=p_c$, we prove that the speed of the random walk is at most $O(\sqrt{\mu \log(1/\mu)})$, provided that $\mu \le e^{-1}$. Reliable hand mesh reconstruction (HMR) from commonly-used color and depth sensors is challenging especially under scenarios with varied illuminations and fast motions. Event camera is a highly promising alternative for its high dynamic range and dense temporal resolution properties, but it lacks key texture appearance for hand mesh reconstruction. In this paper, we propose EvRGBHand -- the first approach for 3D hand mesh reconstruction with an event camera and an RGB camera compensating for each other. By fusing two modalities of data across time, space, and information dimensions,EvRGBHand can tackle overexposure and motion blur issues in RGB-based HMR and foreground scarcity and background overflow issues in event-based HMR. We further propose EvRGBDegrader, which allows our model to generalize effectively in challenging scenes, even when trained solely on standard scenes, thus reducing data acquisition costs. Experiments on real-world data demonstrate that EvRGBHand can effectively solve the challenging issues when using either type of camera alone via retaining the merits of both, and shows the potential of generalization to outdoor scenes and another type of event camera.

Event cameras and RGB cameras exhibit complementary characteristics in imaging: the former possesses high dynamic range (HDR) and high temporal resolution, while the latter provides rich texture and color information. This makes the integration of event cameras into middle- and high-level RGB-based vision tasks highly promising. However, challenges arise in multi-modal fusion, data annotation, and model architecture design. In this paper, we propose EvPlug, which learns a plug-and-play event and image fusion module from the supervision of the existing RGB-based model. The learned fusion module integrates event streams with image features in the form of a plug-in, endowing the RGB-based model to be robust to HDR and fast motion scenes while enabling high temporal resolution inference. Our method only requires unlabeled event-image pairs (no pixel-wise alignment required) and does not alter the structure or weights of the RGB-based model. We demonstrate the superiority of EvPlug in several vision tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, and 3D hand pose estimation

In this work, we present Digital Life Project, a framework utilizing language as the universal medium to build autonomous 3D characters, who are capable of engaging in social interactions and expressing with articulated body motions, thereby simulating life in a digital environment. Our framework comprises two primary components: 1) SocioMind: a meticulously crafted digital brain that models personalities with systematic few-shot exemplars, incorporates a reflection process based on psychology principles, and emulates autonomy by initiating dialogue topics; 2) MoMat-MoGen: a text-driven motion synthesis paradigm for controlling the character's digital body. It integrates motion matching, a proven industry technique to ensure motion quality, with cutting-edge advancements in motion generation for diversity. Extensive experiments demonstrate that each module achieves state-of-the-art performance in its respective domain. Collectively, they enable virtual characters to initiate and sustain dialogues autonomously, while evolving their socio-psychological states. Concurrently, these characters can perform contextually relevant bodily movements. Additionally, a motion captioning module further allows the virtual character to recognize and appropriately respond to human players' actions. Event camera shows great potential in 3D hand pose estimation, especially addressing the challenges of fast motion and high dynamic range in a low-power way. However, due to the asynchronous differential imaging mechanism, it is challenging to design event representation to encode hand motion information especially when the hands are not moving (causing motion ambiguity), and it is infeasible to fully annotate the temporally dense event stream. In this paper, we propose EvHandPose with novel hand flow representations in Event-to-Pose module for accurate hand pose estimation and alleviating the motion ambiguity issue. To solve the problem under sparse annotation, we design contrast maximization and hand-edge constraints in Pose-to-IWE (Image with Warped Events) module and formulate EvHandPose in a weakly-supervision framework. We further build EvRealHands, the first large-scale real-world event-based hand pose dataset on several challenging scenes to bridge the real-synthetic domain gap. Experiments on EvRealHands demonstrate that EvHandPose outperforms previous event-based methods under all evaluation scenes, achieves accurate and stable hand pose estimation with high temporal resolution in fast motion and strong light scenes compared with RGB-based methods, generalizes well to outdoor scenes and another type of event camera, and shows the potential for the hand gesture recognition task.

We complete the verification of the 1952 Yang and Lee proposal that thermodynamic singularities are exactly the limits in ${\mathbb R}$ of finite-volume singularities in ${\mathbb C}$. For the Ising model defined on a finite $\Lambda\subset\mathbb{Z}^d$ at inverse temperature $\beta\geq0$ and external field $h$, let $\alpha_1(\Lambda,\beta)$ be the modulus of the first zero (that closest to the origin) of its partition function (in the variable $h$). We consider the zeros of the partition function of the Ising model with ferromagnetic pair interactions and complex external field. Under the assumption that the graph with strictly positive interactions is connected, we vary the interaction (denoted by $t$) at a fixed edge. It is already known that each zero is monotonic (either increasing or decreasing) in $t$; we prove that its motion is local: the entire trajectories of any two distinct zeros are disjoint. If the underlying graph is a complete graph and all interactions take the same value $t\geq 0$ (i.e., the Curie-Weiss model), we prove that all the principal zeros (those in $i[0,\pi/2)$) decrease strictly in $t$., Comment: 16 pages, 1 figure

We review the construction of a stationary Gaussian process $X(t)$ starting from the near-critical continuum scaling limit $\Phi^h$ of the Ising magnetization and its relation to the mass spectrum of the relativistic quantum field theory associated to $\Phi^h$. Then for the near-critical Ising model on $a \mathbb{Z}^2$ with external field $a^{15/8} h$, we study the renormalized magnetization along a vertical line (with horizontal coordinate approximately $t$) and prove that the limit as $a\downarrow 0$ is the same Gaussian process $X(t)$. We study the critical Ising model with free boundary conditions on finite domains in $\mathbb{Z}^d$ with $d\geq4$. Under the assumption, so far only proved completely for high $d$, that the critical infinite volume two-point function is of order $|x-y|^{-(d-2)}$ for large $|x-y|$, we prove the same is valid on large finite cubes with free boundary conditions, as long as $x, y$ are not too close to the boundary. This confirms a numerical prediction in the physics literature by showing that the critical susceptibility in a finite domain of linear size $L$ with free boundary conditions is of order $L^2$ as $L\rightarrow\infty$. We also prove that the scaling limit of the near-critical (small external field) Ising magnetization field with free boundary conditions is Gaussian with the same covariance as the critical scaling limit, and thus the correlations do not decay exponentially. For the two-dimensional random field Ising model (RFIM) with bimodal (i.e., two-valued) external field, we prove exponential decay of correlations either (1) when the temperature is larger than the critical temperature of the Ising model without external field and the magnetic field strength is small or (2) at any temperature when the magnetic field strength is sufficiently large. Unlike previous work on exponential decay, our approach is not based on cluster expansions but rather on arguably simpler methods; these combine an analysis of the Kert\'{e}sz line and a coupling of Ising measures (and also their random cluster representations) with different boundary conditions. We consider the Ising model at its critical temperature with external magnetic field $ha^{15/8}$ on $a\mathbb{Z}^2$. We give a purely probabilistic proof, using FK methods rather than reflection positivity, that for $a=1$, the correlation length is $\geq const.~h^{-8/15}$ as $h\downarrow0$. We extend to the $a\downarrow0$ continuum limit the FK-Ising coupling for all $h>0$, and obtain tail estimates for the largest renormalized cluster area in a finite domain as well as an upper bound with exponent $1/8$ for the one-arm event. We consider the Ising model at its critical temperature with external magnetic field $ha^{15/8}$ on the square lattice with lattice spacing $a$. We show that the truncated two-point function in this model decays exponentially with a rate independent of $a$. As a consequence, we show exponential decay in the near-critical scaling limit Euclidean magnetization field. For the lattice model with $a=1$, the mass (inverse correlation length) is of order $h^{8/15}$ as $h\downarrow 0$; for the Euclidean field, it equals exactly $Ch^{8/15}$ for some $C$. Although there has been much progress in the study of critical scaling limits, results on near-critical models are far fewer due to the lack of conformal invariance away from the critical point. Our arguments combine lattice and continuum FK representations, including coupled conformal loop and measure ensembles, showing that such ensembles can be useful even in the study of near-critical scaling limits. We consider first-passage percolation on the two-dimensional triangular lattice $\mathcal{T}$. Each site $v\in\mathcal{T}$ is assigned independently a passage time of either $0$ or $1$ with probability $1/2$. Denote by $B^+(0,n)$ the upper half-disk with radius $n$ centered at $0$, and by $c_n^+$ the first-passage time in $B^+(0,n)$ from $0$ to the half-circular boundary of $B^+(0,n)$.
