The main objective of this research is to examine whether the implementation of new human resource management practices (NHRM) can enhance innovative performance (IP) by fostering innovation capability (NC). Additionally, it examines the moderating influence of an innovative climate (IC) and its associated attributes on the association with new human resource management and innovation capability, a factor that has been relatively overlooked in prior research. The study's data was obtained from 398 employees in the pharmaceutical sector of Pakistan, and hierarchical regression analysis was utilized to analyze the data. The results from the mediating and moderating analyses underscore the significance of NHRM practices, innovation capability, and an innovative climate, along with its specific attributes, in promoting innovative performance through factors such as operational efficiency, suitable practices, and employees' willingness to participate in organizational endeavors. Furthermore, the moderated mediation analysis findings reveal that the influence of innovation capability as a mediator is strengthened when the workplace climate is more conducive to innovation. These findings have implications for both theoretical understanding and practical application, particularly in similar developing countries. Industry 4.0 represents the most advanced stage of organization of industrial companies, allowing them to respond to an uncertain and changing environment, particularly as accentuated by the recent crisis resulting from COVID-19. Management innovation (MI) contributes to this process of permanent adaptation. The MI implementation phase is a critical step in MI generation that can generate many potential obstacles. This study focuses on these obstacles while considering the different activities (or subprocesses) embedded in this phase and the different actors involved in this complex process. We conducted a longitudinal case study in real time to investigate the implementation of MI internally generated by a multinational industrial company. Our results show that the obstacles encountered during the MI implementation phase may differ depending on the different activities and actors of this phase, thus leading us to question current implementation frameworks. This paper contributes by refining the theoretical model of MI generation and providing a better understanding of the obstacles that occur during the MI implementation phase. This essay examines how universities are responding to demands to educate students for climate action. I argue for a whole-of-university approach, in which sustainability becomes part of the mission of the university, and translates into reimagined forms of education, research, outreach, and management of the university operations. This approach runs counter to the most common response of universities, incremental to new demands, and is likely to take place only in institutions with greater capacity for innovation. Strategy and knowledge are key resources to support such innovation, drawing on the comparative analysis of the global experience of higher education, as there are already high rates of institutional innovation globally in educating for climate action. Nowadays, one of the main challenges facing green innovation management is how to enhance the performance of innovation processes by utilizing asymmetric input and output data. Therefore, this paper develops an improved SBM model analysis framework for evaluating the green innovation efficiency of asymmetric input and output data. The framework is applied to assess the technical (TE), managerial (PTE), and scale (SE) efficiencies of new energy companies under three input variables (R&D personnel input, R&D capital input, and comprehensive energy consumption input), two desirable output variables (green technology output and economic output), and one undesirable output variable (greenhouse gas emissions). Then, environmental factors and random factors are eliminated from the obtained input slack variables based on the SFA model, placing decision-making units in a homogeneous environment. The results demonstrate that TE, PTE, and SE are improved after eliminating environmental factors and random factors. Subsequently, based on the entropy method, this paper classifies companies' green innovation patterns into four categories and provides targeted solutions. The purpose of this paper is to provide an evaluation method for new energy companies to understand green innovation efficiency and assist decision makers in identifying the most optimal resource allocation approach. The proposed improved SBM model contributes to the literature and to industry practice by (1) providing a reliable evaluation of green innovation efficiency under asymmetric input and output data; (2) determining effective improvement actions based on a slack analysis of environmental variables and random variables that lead to improved process performance; and (3) making fuzzy innovation performance efficient to facilitate understanding and managing innovation resource allocation quality. Innovation in healthcare and biomedicine is in decline, yet there exist no widely-known alternatives to traditional brainstorming that can be employed for innovative idea generation. McCaffrey's Innovation Enhancing Techniques (IETs) were developed to enhance creative problem-solving by helping the solver to overcome common psychological obstacles to generating innovative ideas. These techniques were devised for engineering and design problems, which involve solving practical goals using physical materials. Healthcare and science problems however often involve solving abstract goals using intangible resources. Here we adapt two of McCaffrey's IETs, BrainSwarming and the Generic Parts Technique, to effectively enhance idea generation for such problems. To demonstrate their potential, we apply these techniques to a case study involving the use of blockchain technologies to facilitate ethical goals in biomedicine, and successfully identify 100 potential solutions to this problem. Being simple to understand and easy to implement, these and other IETs have significant potential to improve innovation and idea generation in healthcare, scientific, and technological contexts. Existing innovation literature has assumed that the relationship between firms' R&D intensity and innovation take place without the interplay of other organizational factors. However, the reality differs, and research to date has shown that other factors affecting firms' innovation need to be considered. This is important especially in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) countries, which are highly dependent on both internal and external R&D and are associated with an inability to use R&D resources effectively. This study therefore responds to calls for further analysis, especially within the CEE region, and focuses on the role of two factors affecting SMEs' innovativeness and their effects, which have been mixed so far. First, we investigate the effects of SMEs' R&D intensity and capacity utilisation on product innovation. Second, we reveal the moderating role of SMEs' different ownership structures (ownership concentration; private/public ownership; family/non-family ownership) in the relationship between R&D intensity and product innovation. We confirm that CEE SMEs' ownership concentration and private ownership moderate the relationship between R&D intensity and product innovation. In contrast, we reject our hypothesis expecting that family ownership of SMEs can significantly moderate the relationship between R&D intensity and product innovation. Interestingly, we also show that the relationship between capacity utilisation and innovation is non-linear (inverted U-shaped). This study makes a significant contribution in the form of analysis within the CEE region, whose innovation systems are seen to be weak, and it is therefore necessary to bring new knowledge and recommendations to managers and public policymakers. This study investigates the influence of risk management on collaborative innovation and the intervention of communication intensity in agricultural cooperatives. A survey was conducted with managers of Brazilian agricultural cooperatives listed in the Organization of Cooperatives of Brazil. The structural equation modeling technique was applied to a sample of 103 valid answers. The results show that risk management positively influences collaborative innovation and communication intensity, and that communication intensity positively influences collaborative innovation. Furthermore, a mediating effect of communication intensity was observed in the relationship between risk management and collaborative innovation. Theoretical implications arise from the observation of the intervention of communication intensity in this relationship, mainly by providing insights to expand research in this direction. Practical implications also arise from observing the intervention of communication intensity in this relationship, such as alerts to the managers of these organizations about the relevance of aligning communication and risk management to the purpose of collaborative innovation. This research aims to identify the "entrepreneurial" characteristics of public universities in Mexico that offer educational programs related to business management. To achieve this, the methodology defined by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Commission was used, in addition to a Structural Equation Models (SEM). The results allowed the design of a model tailored to local universities and the identification of the main characteristics of public universities regarding their commitment to promoting entrepreneurship. Although the impact of government subsidies on private innovation has been widely recognized and researched in numerous studies, few have considered the increasingly prevalent phenomenon of supply chain encroachment in their analysis. This paper explores this phenomenon through a game-theoretic model that takes into account a government entity, a supplier, and a manufacturer. The primary aim is to understand how the government can make optimal subsidy decisions when the supplier moves into the supply chain. Several interesting conclusions have been drawn: (1) under governmental innovation subsidies, the supplier will raise the price of the new technology to obtain more potential revenue, which is termed the inverse wholesale price effect; (2) different kinds of innovation subsidies are shown to have varied effects on R&D, production, and consumption behavior; and (3) different subsidy strategies are made compatible with the characteristics of innovative activities to maximize social welfare as much as possible. These findings shed light on inconsistent results surrounding the impacts of government subsidies on private innovations in the existing literature, providing municipalities with helpful guidance when encouraging private innovation initiatives amid supply chain encroachment. Which role do city‐regions play in European innovation network formation? We study the evolution of innovation collaborative networks in European city‐regions outlining two opposite models: in the exclusive network model city‐regions establish a closed network of innovators among themselves; in the inclusive network models city‐regions build a network of innovators which includes the peripheral regions. Employing a temporal exponential random graph model on 248 regions for the period 2000–2016, we find that the two models coexist. China has limited arable land area, and its output value is increased with enhanced agricultural inputs such as machinery, irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticides. However, this mode is accompanied by an increase in agricultural carbon emissions. With the aim to further examine the driving effect of scientific and technological innovation on economic growth and green agriculture, this study uses the Solow growth model coupled with the Cobb–Douglas production function and vector autoregressive models. Then, the agricultural scientific and technological innovation capacity in Guangdong Province during 2006–2020 is evaluated by using the contribution rate of agricultural scientific and technological progress (ASTP) as the assessment index. In addition, the carbon footprints of green agricultural indexes such as machinery, irrigation, fertilizers, and pesticides are measured to analyze the relationship between green agriculture and agricultural scientific and technological innovation capacity. Results demonstrate the gradual increase in the contribution rate of ASTP in Guangdong Province. During the 11th, 12th, and 13th Five-Year Plan periods, the rates were 65.09%, 65.94%, and 70.40%, respectively, indicating that the agricultural scientific and technological innovation ability constantly improved. Among the indexes of green agriculture, the carbon footprints of machinery have a significant impact on agricultural scientific and technological innovation, which is quickly transformed into machinery. Such innovation requires the driving force of science and technology itself, which have relatively significant and rapid effects. On the basis of the results, corresponding policy suggestions are proposed: increasing investments in scientific and technological innovation in the agricultural field, vigorously developing new energy-saving and emission reduction products and processes for fertilizers, and increasing the research and promotion of agricultural machinery. Based on managerial accounting, Ratings for the environment, society, and governance (ESG) are now crucial measures for assessing how corporations behave with respect to sustainability. This study aims to present research in the managerial accounting and innovation field to determine how industrial firms' sustainability performance and associated ESG scores relate to one another. This study especially evaluates the management of innovations in the manufacturing industry in terms of Turkey's ESG performance ratings based on Refinitiv Eikon's listing. To examine the association between the management of innovations in industrial firms' overall sustainability performance and ESG scores, hypotheses were developed and tested. Cutting-edge Smart-PLS 4.0 software was used to carry out a rigorous partial least squares (PLS) analysis together with conventional bootstrapping to accomplish these goals. The results show that the management of innovations in Turkey's manufacturing sector's sustainability performance is strongly impacted by all ESG issues (social, governance, and environmental scores), which makes it a vital issue from the perspective of the managerial accounting field. The present research emphasizes the management of innovations as a crucial part of determining the sustainability of the industrial sector's environment. The assignment of goals when conducting planning and policy making should appropriately take into account ESG-related factors, according to the key findings of this study. Industrial firms can improve their overall sustainability performance and make good contributions to the well-being of innovations, the environment and society while upholding sound governance standards by incorporating ESG concepts into decision-making processes. Design is a specific form of complex innovation that affects all areas of an organization's management. However, the essence of design is vague, and it is difficult to fully grasp the concept of design. Therefore, it is difficult to find criteria for determining its value. The problem of establishing a causal relationship between design value and user experience is addressed in this paper. The relationship between these two variables affects the importance of design in organizations and can be used to quantify the value of design. Indeed, based on the results of existing research, it is known that this term has many meanings, and it is necessary to reject the possibility of its total quantification. Much of the related research has focused on the area of user experience and customer value, while other related research has focused on design value, which cannot be measured directly but rather, for example, through system dynamic modelling. This approach, i.e., the use of a system dynamic model to determine the value of design, is still missing in the research literature. The main research method for determining the value of design is the experimental method, supported by other research methods: modelling and structured questioning. Inputs to the model, which represent the opinions of the company's managers on the design, are obtained through a board game that provides an attractive and easy-to-understand user interface for the research participants. The value of design is determined by using a sample case study that contains key variables according to the company's business model. The value of the design is calculated based on the indicator "design cost-effectiveness" over six years of the start-up company's business. The indicator is experimentally verified in a model with an identical structure and different scenarios concerning the involvement of design change in the economic development of the firm. This paper aims to use the gamified DVCG model as an innovative concept in business management through a case study. The contribution of the paper to science and practice is to provide experimentally validated evidence to help identify the areas where design investments are needed to make the most sense for the economics and management of the organization. The relatively low export innovation capacity is not conductive to the steady transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry, and it is necessary to implement suitable policies to enhance export innovation capacity. This study empirically analyzes the data of 827,471 manufacturing enterprises from 2000 till 2013 to investigate the impact of subsidy policy on export innovation. The overall results show that China's subsidy policy has a significant crowding-out effect on export innovation, and subsidy for relatively small enterprises is more conducive to promoting export innovation; however, enterprises' independent investment does not own much impact on export innovation. The econometric results made from perspectives of the sub-region and the industry reveal that subsidy policy is not conducive to export innovation, independent investment is not beneficial to export innovation, and export innovation ability is positively correlated with enterprise scale, but the influence coefficient shows obvious differences. The article perfects the operation of the lines of research in the management of science activity at the University of Matanzas so that they achieve effective expression in the University-Society link. Theoretical and empirical level methods are used. The historical-logical, analytic-synthetic, inductive-deductive, modeling, and system approach were theoretical-level methods used. These methods allowed the proposal of a work procedure. The results achieved through the science, technology, and innovation management indicators established by the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba were evaluated. New actions to fulfill the goal of deepening the university-government-productive sector linkage and increasing its impact on sustainable economic and social development were projected. Using panel data from 269 Chinese cities, this study examined the impact of housing prices (HP) on cities' innovation capacity (IC) in China. Firstly, a fixed effect model was used to analyze the effect of HP on cities' IC in China, revealing that HP positively impacts cities' IC. Next, several robustness tests were conducted to verify the finding's reliability. Thirdly, the analysis empirically tested mediating mechanisms between HP and cities' IC in China. The results show that, on the one hand, higher HP can improve cities' IC by attracting talents and stimulating the growth of local fiscal revenue. On the other, increasing HP can inhibit cities' IC in China by attracting funds into the real estate market and impeding residents' consumption ability. Finally, the heterogeneous nature of the HP-IC link in China was further explored. New industrial dynamics are disrupting the space sector. New stakeholders bringing in capital, technologies, and knowledge from other industries are developing next-generation space infrastructures and services. Both commercial and institutional space projects have to be valuable for a wider set of end-users, asking not only for economic returns but also social and environmental benefits. Space organizations urge understanding and fostering value in the New Space Economy ecosystem. Indeed, end-users are still struggling to enact the expected value of satellite data and solutions for their business. This paper aims to investigate the expected value and the level of adoption (enacted value) of satellite data and satellite-based solutions in the New Space Economy ecosystem from end-users' perspective. We interviewed 21 managers from end-user organizations in different sectors (i.e., Insurance & Finance, Energy & Utility, Transportation & Logistics). Value is deeply discussed in general management literature, and we identify Value Theory as the theoretical lens with the most explanatory power for the phenomenon under examination. From the end-users' perspective, we frame the expected value and the enacted value in taking strategic and tactical decisions regarding their activities, services and products, laying the foundations for further studies of value mechanisms in the New Space ecosystem. Our research set a theoretical and conceptual foundation on value in the New Space ecosystem. It also delineates the blurred boundaries of the New Space ecosystem, the main stakeholders involved, and their perception of value. Insights and implications for strategic and innovation management are also provided. Practitioners may exploit our research results and leverage the end-users-oriented framework to develop next-generation space projects in the New Space ecosystem. Purpose: We analyze the insertion of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) in the consolidation process of the Regional Innovation System in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. Design/methodology/approach: We adopt the documentary research method in the environments of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC). With regard to data analysis, we use the theoretical-analytical categorization, based on research and development (R&D) and skills-building indicators by innovative learning. Findings: The study results show the mediation and knowledge production roles that both universities play in RIS to organizations. This allowed us to understand that the studied universities were included in this process, through the learning flows of innovative channels, which covered the areas of undergraduate and research. Social Implications: This investigation reflects the social and economic relevance of the universities studied for the region in which they are inserted in the context of RIS. Originality/value: The actions related to the analyzed indicators encompass interests from both the public and private spheres, thus enabling systemic results in the processes of generating innovative knowledge, which reinforces the capacity for innovation at the regional level. Objective: This study aims to analyze the organizational processes to verify if there is alignment between sustainable supply chain management and innovation practices in a textile industry in Vale dos Sinos Design/methodology/approach: the methodology employed was a case study with the Lambda Company, which used as a basis a conceptual model on innovation and sustainable management of the supply chain, where data were collected through an open semi-structured interview with the financial manager, non-participant observation and documentary research analyzed through the comparison between empirical and bibliographic data. Results: The results show that the company has been structuring programs and positioning itself in a more sustainable way, but it needs to stimulate activities that align innovation and sustainable management of its supply chain supporting its organizational strategy. Ecosystems are in danger due to human-caused air, water, and soil pollution, so it is important to find the underlying causes of this issue and develop practical solutions. This study adds to environmental research gap by suggesting the load capability factor (LCF) and using it to look at the factors affectting environmental health. The load capacity factor simplifies monitoring environmental health by illustrating the distinction between ecological footprint and biocapacity. We examine the interplay between mobile phone users (Digitalization DIG), technological advancements (TEC), renewable energy use, economic growth, and financial development. This study assesses G8 economies' data from 1990 to 2018, using a Cross-Section Improved Autoregressive Distributed Lag CS-ARDL estimator and a cointegration test. The data shows that green energy, TEC innovation, and DIG are all beneficial for natural health. Based on the results of this study, the G8 governments should focus on environmental policies that promote economic growth, increase the use of renewable energy sources, guide technological progress in key areas, and encourage the development of digital information and communications technologies that are better for the environment. The impact of micro-level people's activities on urban macro-level indicators is a complex question that has been the subject of much interest among researchers and policymakers. Transportation preferences, consumption habits, communication patterns and other individual-level activities can significantly impact large-scale urban characteristics, such as the potential for innovation generation of the city. Conversely, large-scale urban characteristics can also constrain and determine the activities of their inhabitants. Therefore, understanding the interdependence and mutual reinforcement between micro- and macro-level factors is critical to defining effective public policies. The increasing availability of digital data sources, such as social media and mobile phones, has opened up new opportunities for the quantitative study of this interdependency. This paper aims to detect meaningful city clusters on the basis of a detailed analysis of the spatiotemporal activity patterns for each city. The study is carried out on a worldwide city dataset of spatiotemporal activity patterns obtained from geotagged social media data. Clustering features are obtained from unsupervised topic analyses of activity patterns. Our study compares state-of-the-art clustering models, selecting the model achieving a 2.7% greater Silhouette Score than the next-best model. Three well-separated city clusters are identified. Additionally, the study of the distribution of the City Innovation Index over these three city clusters shows discrimination of low performing from high performing cities relative to innovation. Low performing cities are identified in one well-separated cluster. Therefore, it is possible to correlate micro-scale individual-level activities to large-scale urban characteristics. We find that the intensity of transnational and domestic patent introduction both have an inverted U‐shaped relationship with local innovation capacity. Also, the relatedness and similarity of domestic technology introduced are advantageous to local innovation. However, the transnational introduced technologies are only beneficial if they perform similarly to the local knowledge base while having no significant effect if merely showing relatedness. Absorptive capacity and innovation strategies are determining issues for the survival of organizations in current contexts. While organizations are immersed in the knowledge society, managers face great challenges to respond to market needs and performance in innovation ecosystems. This article aims to analyze the effects of absorptive capacity on the implementation of innovation strategy. A quantitative research study was conducted with a sample of 51 SMEs, and the construct model was analyzed using the SEM method. The results indicate that there is a high correlation between the level of absorptive capacity and innovation strategies. Even though firms in this specific sector work with advanced technologies, there is a basic level of development of absorptive capacity, generating some difficulties for the design and implementation of innovation strategies. Furthermore, by using the acquisition, assimilation, transformation, and exploitation of knowledge from the competitive landscape, firms improve their adaptability in the technological environment. The effects of absorptive capacity on innovation strategy contribute to the development of the extant literature on innovation management strategy and provide some managerial implications and future research areas. Innovation efficiency is an important manifestation of regional innovation capacity, and how to improve regional innovation efficiency is crucial to regional development. This study empirically explores the impact of industrial intelligence on regional innovation efficiency and the possible influence of approaches and mechanisms. The empirical results revealed the following. First, the development level of industrial intelligence can positively affect regional innovation efficiency, while beyond a certain level, its role in promoting regional innovation efficiency will weaken, exhibiting an inverted U-shaped effect. Second, compared with the application research by enterprises, industrial intelligence plays a stronger role in promoting the innovation efficiency of basic research by scientific research institutes. Third, human capital situation, financial development level, and industrial structure upgrading are three significant channels for industrial intelligence to promote regional innovation efficiency. Therefore, accelerating the development of industrial intelligence, formulating individualized policies for different innovative entities, and rationally allocating resources related to the development of industrial intelligence are needed to be taken to improve regional innovation. Objective: This article presents the process data research approach as an opportunity to improve management studies and to create a roadmap for beginners. Process research is a sidelined way to conduct qualitative studies. The fundamental concern of the process approach is to capture and apprehend the meanings attributed to organizational phenomena directly in the field of research, aiming to understand and answer the questions of 'how' and 'why' events change over time. Method: This study reviews selected recent research on innovation management that used process research criteria (temporal orientation, units of analysis, sample, data, analytical strategies, and conceptual products) as the back-drop. Main Results: The main result of this paper is the creation of a ro-admap for applying the process research approach. Also, it highlights ele-ments of improvement for management studies from the process data approach. Urbanization drives the concentration of innovation elements and knowledge diffusion, which is conducive to enhancing regional innovation capacity. To meet the developmental needs of the new era, China has released the National New Urbanization Plan (2014–2020) to test the effect of this policy on urban innovation. The 2014 comprehensive pilot project of China's new urbanization strategy is considered a quasi-natural experiment. This study examines relevant data from cities at the prefecture level and above from 2008 to 2019 using DID, PSM-DID, intermediary effect, and other methods. We established an empirical model to investigate the impact of new urbanization pilot policies on urban innovation. The results indicate that the new urbanization pilot policy can significantly promote an increase in urban innovation capacity. The heterogeneity of the impact of new urbanization pilot policies is evident in the improvements to urban grade, region, scale, etc. Regarding function mechanism, new urbanization can promote urban innovation through talent gathering, industrial gathering, income scale, and other effects. This paper posits the importance of summarizing the success of the pilot project of new urbanization and explores new urbanization to promote urban innovation from multiple perspectives. The concept of innovation is experienced in generations, as in many other concepts. Intergenerational research, which has been the subject of scholarly inquiry for a considerable period, sheds light on this phenomenon. Despite the extensive attention given to intergenerational mindsets, only some studies have specifically examined the Z generation, who have recently entered the workforce. Notably, attitudes towards innovation vary across generations, with behaviours salient among the Y generation potentially being less relevant for the Z generation. This seems to herald an important difference. It also reveals the importance of deciphering the entire generation Z. Thus, it is paramount to investigate the attitudes and behaviours of the Z generation toward innovation in the business world. Furthermore, it is pertinent to note that career success is linked to innovation. This study focused on objective and subjective measures of career success. It examines the perception of subjective career success between Generation Z and Generation Y and the current situation of objective career success. Objective career success is the achievement of careerrelated criteria that all individuals can assess uniformly. In contrast, subjective career success refers to the individual's perception of their success in their career. To measure these constructs, questions and scales were utilized in the research. The sample for the study was composed of 419 individuals from Generation Z and 470 individuals from Generation Y. A quantitative research method was employed to analyse the data, utilizing descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and independent t-test. The findings indicate that objective and subjective career success perception higher among Generation Y than Generation Z. Looking at the sub-dimensions in the findings of the research, the averages of the Y generation are higher than the Z generation in the sub-dimensions of salary and status, recognition, growth, and development. On the other hand, the average of the Z generation is significantly higher in the personnel life sub-dimension known as work-life balance. Research results and literature show little differences. This study offer valuable insights for businesses, human resources departments, and interdisciplinary researchers. In recent years, companies are facing more and more types of risks with different levels of complexity. Inevitably this reflects also on the way how the risk is identified, evaluated and managed. One of the innovative risk management solutions is the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Artificial intelligence will create a foundation for more resilient, sustainable, adaptive, and well-prepared companies which could face environmental changes without being impacted so heavily. The purpose of the study described in this paper is to conduct empirical research to examine the progress of intelligent risk management implementation and the attitude towards it in companies from two sectors of the Bulgarian economy - services and gas. The two sectors will be compared and it will be statistically validated if there is a difference in how the companies from the gas and services sectors see the artificial intelligence and its benefits. Based on the results, at the end, a proposal for improved and innovative risk management will be made. The results of the survey and the empirical study will show what will be the future direction of the research in the field of artificial intelligence and its implementation in risk management. This study examined the practices of innovation management used by Brazilian industries. A survey was carried out with specialists that assessed 27 practices (PR) proposed by ISO 56002, considering two types of firms: small and medium-sized industries (SMI) and large industries (LI). The methodological approach included Hierarchical Cluster Analysis to identify the similarities between the specialists and define levels of specialists, as well as Fuzzy TOPSIS and frequency and sensitivity analyses to examine their responses. PR1 (analysis of internal and external issues that impact innovation management) was deemed the best practice for LIs, whereas PR10 (adequate assessment of potential partnerships) was best evaluated for SMIs. The PR27 (periodic audits to identify opportunities for improvement) received the lowest rating from both LIs and SMIs. In general, SMIs in the Brazilian context have more severe deficiencies in terms of applying innovation management practices than LIs. A broad overview of the innovation practices adopted in the Brazilian industrial scenario is provided. The study's findings may assist managers and policymakers to develop initiatives and actions to improve the capacity of Brazilian industries to innovate. The creative behavior of cultural innovation team members is the key to driving the team forward. Previous studies have relatively neglected the dynamic mechanism of positive verbal rewards on the creative behavior of cultural innovation team members. This paper, drawing on cognitive appraisal theory, focuses on the dynamic mechanism of positive verbal rewards on the creative behavior of cultural innovation team members and the moderating effect of positive affectivity. Based on the survey of 211 cultural innovation team members in Guangdong, China, this paper constructs a relationship model between positive verbal reward, creative self-efficacy, positive affectivity, and members' creative behaviors and empirically tests the model. The results of statistical data analysis show that positive verbal reward has a significant positive impact on members' creative behavior. Creative self-efficacy partially mediates between positive verbal rewards and members' creative behavior; positive affectivity moderates the positive influence of creative self-efficacy on members' creative behavior. The higher the level of positive affectivity, the stronger the positive impact of positive verbal rewards on members' creative behavior, and vice versa. The above research findings help clarify the mechanism of positive verbal rewards on the cultural innovation team members' creative behaviors in the context of Chinese organizations and provide theoretical support for cultural innovation team management practices. Current research on the impact of innovation networks focuses on the web and inter-organizational layers, with less consideration of individual behavior at the firm level. Interaction is an active action strategy that firms take when dealing with the external environment. Therefore, this study explores the mechanism of enterprise interaction on innovation development from the perspective of an innovation network. And measures enterprise interaction in three dimensions: affective interaction, resource interaction, and management interaction. The empirical results indicate that the three dimensions of enterprise interaction contribute significantly to technological innovation performance, and the realization of this role requires technological innovation capabilities (technological research and development capabilities, technological commercialization capabilities) to play a partially mediating role. The moderating effect of absorptive capacity between resource interaction, management interaction, and technological innovation capability is significant; however, the moderating effect between affective interaction and technological innovation capability is statistically insignificant. This article focuses on the transferable (soft) skills articulated in a Research Management (RM) Professional Competency Framework (PCF). The Framework was developed, prior to COVID-19, from continentally anchored RM praxis in Africa. While the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) Framework (2016) includes nine key 'technical' competency areas for respective RM organizational levels (administrative, management and leadership), it is the RM transferable skills that have been brought to the forefront in the current complex COVID-19 environment. This article is therefore a timely focus on what RM practitioners offer as 'human-being' professionals and not only knowledgeable experts. The paper therefore contributes to novelty in terms of mindfully integrating the personal into the professional practice architectures, and, as such, reinforcing work-life integration based on what it means not only to "know" and "do" within a profession, but also to "be" a professional. Based on the perspective of ecology and innovation management, this paper selects seven elements from two aspects, innovation subject and innovation environment, to construct the evaluation index system for the health of pharmaceutical innovation ecological rainforest in Zhejiang from 2011 to 2019, together with the entropy weighted TOPSIS method and the obstacle factor diagnosis model. We find that the health of the pharmaceutical industry in Zhejiang can be measured as three stages: stagnation period, recovery period and development period. There is a relative balance between the development of innovation subject and innovation environment. The resilience of innovation subjects, followed by economic and cultural environment, is the key factor hindering the innovation of pharmaceutical industry in Zhejiang. Finally, we propose four countermeasures, including "deploying high-level service chains, broadening investment and financing channels for enterprises, building a reservoir of global talents, and creating an inclusive and open soft environment". The European Union (EU) countries have declared the ambitious goal of providing carbon-free economic development. Considering this, the EU countries are going to pursue relevant policies for a step-by-step refusal of mining and coal energy, consequently reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The analysis of the theoretical background showed that renewable energy is the core dimension of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this case, the paper aims to justify the impact of core dimensions (knowledge spillover, innovation, and environmental regulation) that could boost renewable energy penetration into all sectors and levels. The following methods are applied to test the hypotheses: stationarity testing in panels; cross-section dependence testing; cointegration testing; and estimation in heterogeneous parameter models. The data are obtained from Eurostat, the OECD, and the World Data Bank. The object of research is the EU country in the period 2010–2020. The findings confirm the hypothesis on the statistically significant impact of innovation and knowledge spillover on renewable energy. In addition, environmental regulation has a mediating positive effect on interconnections among knowledge spillover, innovations, and renewable energy. Current conceptualizations of creative thinking focus primarily on the measurement of creative thinking for the purpose of identifying creative thinking proficiency. We propose a conceptualization that includes a framework and assessments that focus on the measurement and learning of creative thinking and innovation skills. Our conceptualization involves an understanding that innovation is a critical application of creative thinking and that the process of creative thinking that leads to innovation can be performed intentionally and explicitly. In this paper, we put forth a process model for creative thinking and innovation that focuses on an expanded set of cognitive and social skills and processes that facilitate the navigation of the spectrum of conventionality. The process model includes the conventional thinking skill, which serves as not only a foundational skill for understanding and navigating the spectrum of conventionality, but also facilitates the reliable measurement of creative thinking and innovation by supporting the generation of a response pool that represents the full spectrum of conventionality for use in scoring. We explore the advantages of this model and how it addresses some of the challenges presented by current creative thinking conceptualizations and assessments. In the current turbulent and constantly changing conditions, there is a growing tendency to develop human resource activities through implementing managerial innovations. The present paper addresses social workers' work motivation. The paper's main goal is to determine the impact of work motivation on social service employees, representatives of generation X and generation Y. The present paper analyses generation X's and generation Y's work preferences accounting for the distinctiveness of social service work performance. An original questionnaire was distributed to the social workers. For the selection of respondents in social services facilities, the method of a random selection of respondents was used. In this method, each respondent has the same probability of being chosen. The research sample consisted of 201 employees of social services. The questionnaire tackled two areas: demographics (gender, age, and educational background) and work motivation (work environment, working atmosphere, career opportunities, upskilling, income, and demotivating agents at the workplace). The obtained data were statistically processed and evaluated. The data were analysed regarding correlations, differences, and similarities in the social workers' perception of work motivation. The research shows no statistically significant relationship between generation X and generation Y regarding the main motivational stimulus in social workers. Both generations perceive motivation in the same way. Another outcome of the research is that Generation X respondents consider «financial remuneration» and «upskilling» more important than Generation Y respondents. Generation Y respondents consider «career growth», «work being interesting», «friendly work environment», «feedback», and «work-life balance» more important than Generation X respondents. Research respondents appreciate the scope for internal reflection and strengthening of internal motivation. External and internal motivational stimuli, as well as other motivational benefits, support improving the quality of social services and overall improving the quality of life of social services employees. Public Science and Technology Institutions (STIs) need to assume and consolidate a proactive role in innovation management to transform knowledge advances into appropriate results for the industrial base. It is required a strategic managerial action aimed at sustaining the sector's ecosystem and guided by the principle of entrepreneurship. Considering the context of STIs in an integrated approach to the technological innovation process, two questions were raised: How to guarantee an architecture and organizational governance that favor entrepreneurial behavior by linking it to the technological innovation strategy in the ecosystem, and how to expand and promote interactions among ecosystem agents, ensuring an environment leading to innovation and the dissemination of the knowledge generated. The proposed managerial model can be applied in any national or international technology-based innovation ecosystem keeping the characteristics of the business environment. The authors used extensive literature research and direct observation to develop ideas and link them to this management practice. The result was a strategic innovation management model for technology-based STIs. Open innovation (OI) has received significant attention from practices and theories over the past decades. This paper investigates the role of OI and personalized patterns in firms at home and abroad, and then measures the risks involved. Firstly, this paper reviews the definition of OI, the business model innovation characteristics, and the facing problems in practice. Based on the existing literature, we illustrate the openness and challenges of business OI. By introducing bibliometrics, this paper presents a whole research framework. Based on keywords cooccurrence analysis and clustering analysis, we locate the current research hotspots and potential research opportunities from a comprehensive perspective. According to the analysis results, five clusters are obtained, including resource management and value creation; collective innovation and form sustainability; innovation management, intellectual property management, and crossborder cooperation; knowledge management and knowledge sharing; innovation ecosystem, big data, and policy-level innovation. Taking Huawei as an example, its typical business OI model is studied from the perspectives of organizational, project-related, marketing and consumer-based, and summaries the facing challenges and risks. We illustrate its financial performance, innovation performance, and development prospects. We found that, during the implementation of OI practical activities and theoretical exploration, the risks and opportunities facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are multiple dimensional. Management innovation is related to new organizational structures and administrative systems that generate the possibility of creating value for the company. Using as theoretical framework the dynamic capabilities theory, this article examines the relationship between management innovation, technological innovation, and performance, testing the moderating effect of management innovation. Methodologically, the work uses data from the Survey of Development and Technological Innovation 2015–2016 of the Colombian manufacturing industrial sector. For the analysis, six ordinary least squares and robust regression models are estimated. The results suggest that in Colombia, companies do not achieve better results by introducing technological and management innovations simultaneously, since management innovation negatively moderates the relationship between technological innovation and performance. However, management and technological innovations positively influence firm's performance when they are introduced into companies separately. Theoretically, the work advances the literature on the dynamics capabilities perspective, using it to analyze management innovation, technological innovation, and performance in emerging economies. Empirically, useful information is provided for the design of strategies for practitioners seeking to improve the performance of companies with the introduction of management innovations, technological innovations, and new administrative practices. There is a need to develop a far greater understanding of how the invention and implementation of new administrative practices, organizational structures, or management techniques affect in tandem technological innovation capabilities and firm's performance. Knowledge always constitutes the primary productive force for the social and economic development of the country, and consequently innovation has become a new development theme in most countries worldwide. Characterized by high profitability and high growth, Chinese high-tech industries show a rapid growth trend in size and effectiveness, which have been the supporting force and cornerstone for the national economy to promote the upgrading of products and industrial structures. In this study, a combination of Criteria Importance through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method was proposed to evaluate the innovation capacity of high-tech industries. A total of 25 three-level evaluation indicators were established to construct a high-tech industry innovation capacity indication system. The CRITIC method was used to calculate the weight of each indicator, and the TOPSIS method was used to make comprehensive decisions on the high-tech industries of 31 provinces in China. Results show that the development trends of high-tech industries vary greatly in the 31 provinces of China. The top five indicators are the rate-of renovation and reformation projects completed and put into use; the amount of investment in renovation and reformation; the rate of projects completed and put into use; the gross value of production and operation output at current prices; and the expenditure of large and medium-sized high-tech enterprises on technology reformation. These indicators are the critical factors affecting the ranking of high-tech industries at the provincial level. Guangdong ranks first, followed by Jiangsu and Zhejiang, sequentially. The differences in economic and geographical factors initially result in the regional distribution imbalance of high-tech industries, typically “the eastern preceding over the middle, and the middle preceding over the western.” Conclusions provide significantly valuable references in expanding the indication system for a comprehensive evaluation of the independent innovation capacity of high-tech enterprises, which also show valuable references in suggesting measures for the government and enterprises to improve the independent innovation capacity of high-tech enterprises. This study investigates the challenges of implementing innovative management accounting techniques, referred to as strategic management accounting (SMA), the interrelationship among the challenges and the impact of the challenges on SMA usage intensity. From the analysis of survey data obtained from listed manufacturing companies in Nigeria, the result supports the conclusion that SMA implementation challenges are interrelated. However, lack of top management support and low awareness/lack of knowledge are contributory to most of the implementation challenges. The challenges discouraging the intensive use of SMA are the perception that SMA implementation is unnecessary as strategy issues are already integrated in other functions within the organization, high implementation cost and problems relating to information flow between departments within the organization. The current study contributes to knowledge in the sense that it is the first (to the researchers’ knowledge) to examine specifically the interrelationship among SMA implementation challenges in the Nigerian context, thereby drawing attention to the need to consider the challenges to embracing management accounting innovations holistically. Knowledge of SMA implementation challenges could help explain the low adoption rate of SMA in developing countries. This study aims at identifying factors that facilitate the development of the capacity to generate innovations in a subsidiary of a multinational company. Based on the understanding that innovation management deals with the establishment of organizational routines and the investigation of environmental factors that affect the success of the innovation process, the purpose of this work is to contribute toward identifying these factors. For this, a single case study was carried out in a Brazilian subsidiary of a German multinational company, having as incorporated objects the two Business Units of the subsidiary. The results include 20 potential factors to drive the innovation process in the subsidiary company organized as a tree-like structure with three categories: reasons to innovate, spontaneous factors and induced factors. The structure serves as a conceptual framework to address future research, as well as to help subsidiaries' managers to leverage innovative potential. The study opens room for further implementation of open innovation in the company, as the innovation process is now more stable and robust. The principal goal of this study is to analyze the evolution of sensor research and technologies from 1990 to 2020 to clarify outlook and future directions. This paper applies network analysis to a large dataset of publications concerning sensor research covering a 30-year period. Results show that the evolution of sensors is based on growing scientific interactions within networks, between different research fields that generate co-evolutionary pathways directed to develop general-purpose and/or specialized technologies, such as wireless sensors, biosensors, fiber-optic, and optical sensors, having manifold applications in industries. These results show new directions of sensor research that can drive R&D investments toward promising technological trajectories of sensors, exhibiting a high potential of growth to support scientific, technological, industrial, and socioeconomic development.
