The increasing use of hyaluronic acid (HA) implants has made adverse effects more apparent. Here, we present a rare case of massive allergic dermatitis due to HA injections. We performed dermoscopy and color ultrasound, which clarified that this was an allergic dermatitis caused by fillers, and analyzed the possible causes of the allergy. Common treatments were compared, and the advantages of 5-FU-based treatment regimens and their associated mechanisms were noted. A low dose of 5-fluorouracil and triamcinolone acetonide was administered to the patient's entire face and neck, and significant efficacy was achieved. We aimed to gather evidence on extensive dermatitis caused by HA injection, provide new perspectives and solutions for subsequent HA injections, and promote further research on the potential mechanisms of extensive skin inflammation and allergies caused by local HA injections. Background The injection of botulinum toxin into the masseter muscle is an important method for improving hypertrophy. However, some patients may experience adverse reactions, such as sagging of the lower jaw. Therefore, we proposed a method of injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter and platysma muscles that would reduce masseter size and enhance the jawline. Objectives The aim of this study was to reduce the masseter size while enhancing the jawline. Methods Twenty patients received botulinum toxin injections into the masseter and platysma muscles. Pain levels were evaluated with the visual analog scale. All patients were photographed before and 6 months after treatment. Evaluations were performed based on standardized criteria. The lift index, reduction index, and symmetry index were performed to assess the degree of jawline elevation, masseter size reduction, and jawline symmetry before and after treatment. Results The mean visual analog scale score of the 20 patients was 2.80 (±1.24). The mean lift index score decreased from 4.93 (±0.34) to 4.53 (±0.37), P <.05. The mean reduction index score decreased from 3.13 (±0.27) to 2.74 (±0.27), P <.05. The mean symmetry index score changed from 0.0393 (±0.0296) to 0.0257 (±0.0246), P <.05. Conclusions Botulinum toxin injections into the masseter and platysma muscles through nerve block reduced the masseter size, elevated the jawline, and improved symmetry. Background: The demand for mammaplasty has increased in recent years, and infection remains one of the common and serious post‐operative complications. In this study, we analyzed the pathogen distribution and antibiotic susceptibility of breast plastic surgery infections, and compared the differences in pathogenic species between surgical procedures. Methods: The number of each species was counted in the microbial samples of breast plastic surgery infections in Plastic Surgery Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2011 to December 2021. The in vitro antibiotic sensitivity testing data were analyzed using WHONET 5.6 software. The surgical techniques, the period of infection, and other details were gathered in accordance with the clinical data. Results: There were a total of 42 cases included, and 43 different types of pathogenic bacteria, mostly gram‐positive bacteria, were found. CoNS (13/43) and Staphylococcus aureus (22/43) made up the majority. The most prevalent of the five Gram‐negative bacteria was Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Results of drug sensitivity tests indicate that S. aureus is highly sensitive to vancomycin, cotrimoxazole, and linezolid, whereas CoNS is highly sensitive to vancomycin, linezolid, and chloramphenicol. Both of these bacteria show high resistance to erythromycin and penicillin. Breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, and breast reduction surgery were the most frequently associated breast surgery procedures in this study with infections, with the highest number of infections occurring following breast augmentation with fat grafting, breast reduction surgery, and breast reconstruction with autologous tissue. Various breast plastic surgery procedures have different common pathogens of infection, but the most prevalent are CoNS and S. aureus. Additionally, the majority of the infections in this study were in the early stages. Conclusions: Gram‐positive bacteria were the predominant cause of breast plastic surgery infections, and the types of infection strains, the period of infection onset, and the antibiotic susceptibility of prevalent strains varied between breast plastic procedures. Background: The high recurrence rate after nonsurgical treatment of keloid is a major challenge for clinicians. Although there are many existing treatment options, how to optimize and upgrade the existing options and make a reasonable combination of utilization is our concern. The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive non‐surgical treatment for keloid—cocktail therapy. Methods: According to the different changes of keloid with treatment, the treatment was divided into four stages, and different treatment schemes were adopted for each stage. The incidence of side effects of keloid at each stage and the effective rate and cure rate 16 months after the end of treatment were analyzed. Results: All patients completed this study on time, and were followed up 16 months after the end of treatment, the treatment effective rate was 100%, and the cure rate was up to 92.8%. Conclusion: Cocktail therapy can achieve a higher cure rate of keloid, and is worthy of clinical promotion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Auricular keloids are difficult to treat, and recurrent keloids are more aggressive and more likely to develop aural deformities. Surgical excision, injections, or radiotherapy alone have high recurrence rates. An algorithmic approach of auricular keloid remains to be explored. Aims: To investigate the sequential treatment protocol for the treatment of auricle keloids to maintain auricle morphology and reduce the postoperative recurrence rate. Patients/Methods: A retrospective analysis of 42 patients who attended the scar minimally invasive treatment center of the Hospital of Plastic Surgery, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences for serial treatment from January 2019 to June 2021. According to the size and involvement of the keloid, the core excision of the scar was excised under the condition of ensuring the priority of the auricular contour, and the scar flap was repaired to reconstruct the auricular appearance, and electron beam treatment was performed within 24 h after the operation, ray energy: 6–7 MeV, dose: Dt18Gy/2f; regular trimethoprim combined with 5‐Fu injection treatment and the application of silicone ear clips for local compression treatment were performed 1 month after the operation. Results: Thirty‐five patients were followed up from 12 to 40 months after surgery, and three of them showed a tendency of recurrence, and early local treatment with trimethoprim and 5‐Fu injection achieved favorable results. Conclusion: A standardized and sequential treatment plan for keloids with different morphology and anatomical locations can achieve remodeling of the auricular morphology and maintain long‐term results. ABSTRACT Background Aims Methods Results Conclusions Soft tissue filler injection is the second most commonly performed cosmetic procedure worldwide, with augmentation rhinoplasty being the most common filling surgery in Asian countries because Asians predominantly have a low nasal bridge. With the increasing pursuit of beauty, the adverse reactions after injection not only damage the patient's appearance but also greatly affect their quality of life. Therefore, exploring effective methods to address adverse reactions after nasal filler injections is necessary.Herein, we aimed to explore safe and effective drug doses and concentrations for the treatment of two patients who developed an allergic reaction after a nasal filling by intralesional drug injection.Two patients developed severe swelling and deformity of the nose after the injection of fillers 6 months to 1 year prior to presentation. High‐frequency ultrasound and local conditions revealed inflammation in the injected area. The patients were administered the combination of 0.7% triamcinolone acetonide, 0.42% 5‐fluorouracil, and 0.7% lidocaine into the affected area; they were followed up for 6 months.After three times of treatment, swelling and sclerosis disappeared after 44.5 ± 2.12 days. No adverse effects of the infections were observed.This drug regimen may represent a safe and effective therapeutic strategy for the treatment of complications after soft tissue filler injections. Polycaprolactone-based fillers are commonly used in plastic surgery to improve facial aging. However, adverse vascular events following these injections have been reported. An arterial embolism is a rare but serious complication associated with injectable filler procedures. We report a case of arterial embolism in a 35-year-old woman who received a polycaprolactone-based dermal filler at the nasal base and was treated with a regimen containing 5-fluorouracil. We discuss the potential causes of the patient's condition and assess the superiority of our method over conventional approaches. Before treatment, ultrasound detected a decreased flow velocity in the patient's right medial canthus artery with distal hypoperfusion, which improved significantly posttreatment. Long-term follow-up revealed near-disappearance of facial scarring. Background: Due to their minimal trauma and relative safety, blood products are becoming increasingly popular in medical aesthetics. In recent years, research on the application of blood products has also been increased. This article will summarize the research progress of emerging blood products in plastic surgery in recent years., Methods: We searched the PubMed database for literature related to the application of blood preparation in plastic surgery over the past 5 years and summarized them., Results: Commonly used in plastic surgery are platelet-rich plasma, platelet-rich fibrin, concentrated growth factor, platelet-poor plasma, and mesenchymal stem cells derived from blood products. Objective: Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), NOS, constitutes 25-35% of adult non-Hodgkin lymphomas in developed countries, and a higher percentage in developing countries; older people are prone to the disease. Three frequent morphological variants have been recognized, including centroblastic, immunoblastic, and anaplastic variants. However, there are still other rare morphological variants of DLBCL, presenting challenge in diagnosis and treatment., Case Presentation: A 62-year-old woman sought medical attention with a previous 6-month history of intermittent fever and leukocytosis. Bone marrow (BM) aspiration presented AML with acute monocytic leukemia-like morphologic features. The results of the immunophenotypic analysis suggested mature B cell lymphoma without obvious subtype characteristics. Lymph node biopsy indicated DLBCL of non-germinal centre B-cell subtype (n-GCB). Cytogenetic analysis of the BM cells revealed a 46,XX, trp(1)(q21q32),del(7)(q32q36),t(9;14)(p13;q32) [4]/46,XX [16] karyotype. The patient was diagnosed with EBV-positive DLBCL, NOS based on the combination of lymph node biopsy, clinical, cytological, immunophenotypic, and cytogenetic analyses., Conclusion: To date, no case reports of a patient diagnosed with DLBCL mimicking acute monocytic leukemia with complex karyotype have been reported. We present the case given its rarity, easy misdiagnosis, and poor prognosis.
