The problem of feature selection has been an area of considerable research in machine learning. Feature selection is known to be particularly difficult in unsupervised learning because different subgroups of features can yield useful insights into the same dataset. In other words, many theoretically-right answers may exist for the same problem. Furthermore, designing algorithms for unsupervised feature selection is technically harder than designing algorithms for supervised feature selection because unsupervised feature selection algorithms cannot be guided by class labels. As a result, previous work attempts to discover intrinsic structures of data with heavy computation such as matrix decomposition, and require significant time to find even a single solution. This paper proposes a novel algorithm, named Explainability-based Unsupervised Feature Value Selection (EUFVS), which enables a paradigm shift in feature selection, and solves all of these problems. EUFVS requires only a few tens of milliseconds for datasets with thousands of features and instances, allowing the generation of a large number of possible solutions and select the solution with the best fit. Another important advantage of EUFVS is that it selects feature values instead of features, which can better explain phenomena in data than features. EUFVS enables a paradigm shift in feature selection. This paper explains its theoretical advantage, and also shows its applications in real experiments. In our experiments with labeled datasets, EUFVS found feature value sets that explain labels, and also detected useful relationships between feature value sets not detectable from given class labels.

application/pdf, In the paper we explain the deformation theories in shape analysis. The Geometry Driven Statistics offers a new horizon of the statistical methods. Using a thin-plate interpolation, the given configuration with landmark coordinates is featured by the principal warps which are eigenvectors of the bending energy matrix. In addition, the deformation between two configurations can be described by an affine transformation component and a non-affine transformation. The non-affine transformation can be described by partial warps. Seeing the partial warps help a lot us to understand the features of the deformation. We apply the deformation theories to a tiny economics deformation analysis. The concrete example will be helpful so that economics students can understand the deformation theories. In addition, the way of applying the shape analysis method is explained through the concrete example.

application/pdf, ベイズ推論は，文書のトピック分析を始め，画像のパターン認識のほか，画像を用いた服装コーディネイト推薦，買い物履歴情報からの消費パターン分析など，広い分野で活用されている。本稿では，ベイズ推論の手法を大学ブランドイメージ分析に適用する。我々は，マルコフ連鎖モンテカルロ法（MCMC）の代表的アルゴリズムであるギブズサンプラーの実装により，シンプルトピックモデルによるベイズ推論のクラスタリングの過程を可視化するツールを開発した。このツールにより，大学ブランドイメージという共通の知識を共有するデータを対象として，クラスタリングのマルコフ連鎖の変動のようすを可視化する。このような手法のポイントは，共有する知識に基づく分析事例を示し，その事例からその背景にある数学的手法を連想させ，理解させる，ことである。このMCMC における定常状態の連鎖プロセスにおいては，ある大学が2 つのクラスの間を頻繁に行き来するなどの興味深い変動が見られた。こうした可視化により，クラスタリングのツールをただ使って結果を出すだけではなく，その背景にあるギブズサンプラー，シンプルトピックモデル，などの数学プロセスを理解することが可能となる。そうした数学プロセスの理解は，的確な分析に必須であるので，こうした数学教育はベイズ推論において重要と考える。

application/pdf, 本稿では，経営者のための，初期費用がかからず，対費用効果の高い口コミ分析手法を提案する。提案手法の特徴は，評判の全容の俯瞰，及び潜在的事前期待の発見，ホリスティックな視点からの有益コメントの発見である。その適応事例として＠コスメのマスカラの口コミ分析を行った。そして潜在的事前期待として，「まつげへのダメージ回避」，「まつげへのトリートメント効果」を，また，ホリスティックな有益情報として「他のベース化粧品との組合せ」などが発見できた。また，この手法とLSAによる分析結果の比較を行ない，分析の本質的な部分は度数分布であり，本提案手法でも把握可能なことを示した。経営者の本当に欲している情報とは，顧客の潜在的事前期待であり，画期的な商品機能改善や，新商品の開発に結び付く未知の機能，サービスであろう。本稿で我々が提案した分析手法は，簡単な方法ではあるが，こうした経営者のニーズに応えている。

application/pdf, The paper reports our web publication of visual teaching materials for business mathematics． The objective of the web site is to familiarize students with our visual approach for business mathematics at early stage， The significant advantage of visualization is that seeing the materials leads to better understanding of the mathematical process． Even if the students cannot understand the algebraic calculation process， they can intuitively understand the essence， only seeing the visual materials． The feature of our developed teaching materials is utilization of three－dimensional graphics and its animations． Just watching the animation， students can see the points， even if they have no idea about operations on the web． In the paper， we will illustrate three typical economics problems using three－dimensional animation which are a national income determination problem， an IS－LM analysis， and a Marshallian demand function．

application/pdf, 我々は2011年3月の東日本大震災によって引き起こされた経済活動における事象の記録，震災という未曾有の経済的混乱の状況下での被害状況および復興のようすを，若い世代に伝えたいと考える。その一環として，本稿では意外な株価上昇の原因をwebマイニングにより探るケーススタディについて述べる。震災後，ほとんどの企業が株価下落となったが，大幅に株価が上昇した企業もあった。また，震災の影響でマイナス要因が多いのも関わらず，株価が上昇した企業もあった。我々は，そのような事例として，仙台市の酒のやまや，オリエンタルランドを例にとり，その株価上昇の原因をwebテキストマイニングによって分析した。

application/pdf, 金融工学数学のためのグラフィクス教材のデータベースのWEB サイトを立ち上げたので報告する。金融工学数学は難しいと言われるが，数学を理解させるために，グラフィクスの利用は有効であり，その利用により学生の理解度を高めることが可能である。我々は，大学および高校の数学授業において，グラフィクス教材をもっと多く活用してもらうためにこのサイトを開いた。そのため，数式処理ソフトウェアとしては，国内でも普及しているフリーソフトであるMAXIMA（マキシマ）を使った。本稿の目的は，グラフィクス教材作成に際して，ユーザー自身が，パラメータ値を自由に変更でき，ユーザー独自の金融工学数学グラフィクス教材を作成できるようにすることである。教材の内容としては，グラフィクスが効果的に生かせるテーマをとして，ポートフォリオの効率的フロンティア及びイミュニゼーションのテイラー展開描画，住宅ローン，年金の増加関数と減少関数の描画，債券価格の３次元的描画などを選んだ。本稿では，我々が研究中である，債券数学の学習支援システム構想にもふれ，このグラフィクス教材データベースが，その一部であることを説明する。

application/pdf, 本稿では，債券に関する数学，債券数学（Bond Mathematics）をビジュアルなアプローチで教授する方法について述べる．題材は，確定利付き債券の価格関数の特徴説明，および，イミュニゼーションである。これらは金融工学の基礎知識として重要なものである。ビジュアルアプローチの導入により，債券価格関数を多変数関数から次元を落として説明していくことで，学生は体系的な理解が得られる。また，イミュニゼーションの連立方程式もビジュアルな教材により，デュレーションおよびコンベキシティを説明すると，理解が深まる。

application/pdf, 金融工学における重要概念として，金利のタームストラクチャーモデルがあるが，その数学的プロセスは学生にとって理解が難しく，ここで金融工学自体に挫折してしまう学生も少なくないと言える。本稿では，金利のタームストラクチャーモデルに関連する各種の概念，スポットレート，デュレーション，イミュニゼーションなどを，グラフィクスを用いて学生に教授する方法について報告する。これにより，タームストラクチャーモデルにおけるデュレーションの偏導関数の意味，再帰的な債券価格の求め方，などの理解が容易となる。我々は常々，数学教育におけるグラフィクス活用の有効性を主張しているが，本稿ではタームストラクチャーモデルの，ビジュアルアプローチに基づく教案を提示する。内容は実際に我々がMaple を用いて講義した経験に基づくものである。代数学的アプローチだけでは理解困難な場合でも，ビジュアルなアプローチによる説明で教えると，学習における理解度が向上すると期待される。また，本稿では，グラフィクスを学生自身に描かせることによる効用も論じる。グラフィクスを描くことで，数式の詳細部を認識する，グラフィクスの詳細部を観察する，という作業を繰り返すことになるので，結果として数学的プロセスの理解が深まる。
