The medium-temperature $T$ dependence of the jet transport coefficient $\hat q$ was studied via the nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}(p_{\rm T})$ and elliptical flow parameter $v_2(p_{\rm T})$ for large transverse momentum $p_{\rm T}$ hadrons in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. Within a next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD parton model for hard scatterings with modified fragmentation functions due to jet quenching controlled by $\hat q$, we check the suppression and azimuthal anisotropy for large $p_{\rm T}$ hadrons, and extract $\hat q$ by global fits to $R_{AA}(p_{\rm T})$ and $v_2(p_{\rm T})$ data in A + A collisions at RHIC and LHC, respectively. The numerical results from the best fits show that $\hat q/T^3$ goes down with local medium temperature $T$ in the parton jet trajectory. Compared with the case of a constant $\hat{q}/T^3$, the going-down $T$ dependence of $\hat{q}/T^3$ makes a hard parton jet to lose more energy near $T_{\rm c}$ and therefore strengthens the azimuthal anisotropy for large $p_{\rm T}$ hadrons. As a result, $v_2(p_{\rm T})$ for large $p_{\rm T}$ hadrons was enhanced by approximately 10% to better fit the data at RHIC/LHC. Considering the first-order phase transition from QGP to the hadron phase and the additional energy loss in the hadron phase, $v_2(p_{\rm T})$ is again enhanced by 5%-10% at RHIC/LHC.

Motivated by the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in bilayer nickelate La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$ under pressure, we investigate the ground-state phase diagram and correlation effects using determinant quantum Monte Carlo simulations in a simplified bilayer two-orbital Hubbard model at half filling. Our results reveal the emergence of a nonmagnetic weakly insulating phase at weak on-site Hubbard interactions, transitioning to an antiferromagnetic Mott insulating phase as the interaction strength exceeds a critical value $U/t_1^x\approx 4.15$. This phase transition is consistent with the 3D O(3) Heisenberg universality class. Additionally, we analyze dynamical properties such as the single-particle spectral function and dynamic spin structure factor. The pronounced inter-layer correlation of $d_{3z^2-r^2}$ orbitals results in a downward trend and an extended flatness in the $\gamma$ band, mirroring the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy findings under ambient pressure. Quantum computing holds immense potential for addressing a myriad of intricate challenges, which is significantly amplified when scaled to thousands of qubits. However, a major challenge lies in developing an efficient and scalable quantum control system. To address this, we propose a novel Hierarchical MicroArchitecture (HiMA) designed to facilitate qubit scaling and exploit quantum process-level parallelism. This microarchitecture is based on three core elements: (i) discrete qubit-level drive and readout, (ii) a process-based hierarchical trigger mechanism, and (iii) multiprocessing with a staggered triggering technique to enable efficient quantum process-level parallelism. We implement HiMA as a control system for a 72-qubit tunable superconducting quantum processing unit, serving a public quantum cloud computing platform, which is capable of expanding to 6144 qubits through three-layer cascading. In our benchmarking tests, HiMA achieves up to a 4.89x speedup under a 5-process parallel configuration. Consequently, to the best of our knowledge, we have achieved the highest CLOPS (Circuit Layer Operations Per Second), reaching up to 43,680, across all publicly available platforms.

The roton-triggered charge-density-wave (CDW)is widely studied in fractional quantum Hall (FQH) and fractional Chern insulator (FCI) systems, and there also exist field theoretical and numerical realizations of continuous transition from FCI to superfluid (SF). However, the theory and numerical explorations of the transition between FCI and supersolid (SS) are still lacking. In this work, we study the topological flat-band lattice models with $\nu$ = 1/2 hard-core bosons, where the previous studies have discovered the existence of FCI states and possible direct FCI-SS transitions. While the FCI is robust, we find the direct FCI-SS transition is absent, and there exist more intriguing scenarios. In the case of checkerboard lattice, we find an intermediate gapless CDW state without SF, sandwiched between FCI and SS. This novel state is triggered by the roton instability in FCI and it further continuously brings about the intertwined finite-momentum SF fluctuation when the CDW order is strong enough, eventually transiting into an unconventional finite-momentum SS state. The intermediate gapless CDW state is a vestige from the SS state, since the increasing quantum fluctuation melts only the Larkin-Ovchinnikov-type SF order in SS but its (secondary) product -- the CDW order -- survives. On honeycomb lattice, we find no evidence of SS, but discover an interesting sequence of FCI-Solid I-Solid II transitions, with both solids incompressible. Moreover, in contrast to previous single-roton condensation, this sequence of FCI-Solid I-Solid II transitions is triggered by the softening of multi-roton modes in FCI. Considering the intertwined wave vectors of the CDW orders, Solid I is a vestige of Solid II. Our work provides new horizon not only for the quantum phase transitions in FCI but also for the intertwined orders and gapless states in bosonic systems, which will inspire future studies.

The double pion photoproduction off nucleons near threshold is analyzed in a covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory up to next to leading order, where the $\Delta(1232)$, $N^*(1400)$ and $\rho(770)$ resonances are included as explicit degrees of freedom. For the process $\gamma p \to \pi^+ \pi^0 n$, the chiral results of total cross sections, invariant-mass distributions and beam-helicity asymmetry are in good agreement with the experimental data within uncertainties. For the process $\gamma p \to \pi^0 \pi^0 p$, the prediction of total cross section deviates from the existing experimental data. Once the final-state interaction of $\pi \pi$ in the isoscalar S-wave channel is taken into account, a good description of the cross section is achieved. Using holography, we study the universal scaling laws governing the coarsening dynamics of strongly coupled domain walls. Specifically, we studied the universal dependence of the length of the domain wall interfaces on the quench rate. The relation satisfies the Kibble-Zurek scaling shortly after the critical point. However, as time goes by, the coarsening dynamics suppresses the Kibble-Zurek scaling in favor of a universal dynamical scaling of the characteristic length and the adiabatic growth of the system. The properties of fractional Chern insulator (FCI) phases and the phase transitions between FCI and Mott insulators (MI) in bosonic systems are well studied. The continuous transitions between FCI and superfluid (SF), however, despite the inspiring field theoretical predictions, have not been directly verified. The existing numerical results of the FCI-SF transition are either indirect or clearly first-order. Here, by simply tuning the bandwidth of the Haldane honeycomb lattice model, we find direct transitions from a bosonic FCI at $\nu=1/2$ filling of a flat Chern band to two SF states with bosons condensed at momenta M or $\Gamma$, respectively. While the FCI-SF(M) transition is first-order, the FCI-SF($\Gamma$) transition is found continuous, and the bipartite entanglement entropy at the critical point with the area-law scaling is consistent with the critical theories. Through finite size criticality analysis, the obtained critical exponents $\beta\approx$ 0.35(5) and $\nu\approx$ 0.62(12) are both compatible with those of the 3D XY universality class within numerical uncertainty and possibly more exotic beyond-Landau ones. This letter thence presents a direct numerical demonstration of a continuous FCI-SF transition between topologically ordered phase and spontaneous continuous symmetry-breaking phase, and further indicates the zero-field bosonic FCI might be realized from a SF state by gradually flattening the dispersion of the Chern band, through the (quasi)adiabatic preparation in ultracold atom systems.

The effective potential of the $O(N)$ model at large $N$ limit is reinvestigated with varying pion mass and temperature. For large pion masses and high temperatures, we find the phenomenologically favored vacuum, located on the upper branch of the double-branched effective potential for physical $m_\pi$, moves to the lower branch and becomes no longer a local minimum but a saddle point. The existence and running of the tachyon pole are also discussed. These phenomena indicate that the applicable energy range of $O(N)$ model is more and more limited as $m_\pi$ becoming larger and temperature going higher. With the effective coupling constant defined from the effective potential, the possible correspondence between the two branches of the effective potential and the two phases of the theory (distinguished by positive or negative coupling) is verified even with nonzero explicit symmetry breaking and at finite temperature. Spontaneous symmetry breaking is a fundamental notion in modern physics, ranging from high energy to condensed matter. However, the usual spontaneous symmetry breaking only considers the equal probability to select the vacua. In this work, we conceive a model to realize the unequal probability of the symmetry breaking, leading to an unbalanced number of ground states. Specifically, we study the probabilities of a scalar field to roll down from the top of a potential, where the top is only $C^1$ continuous. As the whole system is subject to random perturbations, we find that the probability for the field to roll down to the left or right side depends the square root of the second derivative of the potential at the top. We solve this problem theoretically by using the Fokker-Planck equations in stochastic process and verify our findings numerically. Cooperative perception is essential to enhance the efficiency and safety of future transportation systems, requiring extensive data sharing among vehicles on the road, which raises significant privacy concerns. Federated learning offers a promising solution by enabling data privacy-preserving collaborative enhancements in perception, decision-making, and planning among connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). However, federated learning is impeded by significant challenges arising from data heterogeneity across diverse clients, potentially diminishing model accuracy and prolonging convergence periods. This study introduces a specialized federated learning framework for CP, termed the federated dynamic weighted aggregation (FedDWA) algorithm, facilitated by dynamic adjusting loss (DALoss) function. This framework employs dynamic client weighting to direct model convergence and integrates a novel loss function that utilizes Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) to counteract the detrimental effects of non-independently and identically distributed (Non-IID) and unbalanced data. Utilizing the BEV transformer as the primary model, our rigorous testing on the OpenV2V dataset, augmented with FedBEVT data, demonstrates significant improvements in the average intersection over union (IoU). The recent developments in twisted MoTe$_2$ and rhombohedral multilayer graphene have generated widespread attention to the general features of fractional quantum anomalous Hall (FQAH) states, including their possible coexistence with and transition to various symmetry breaking charge ordered states. These attentions are pushing forward our knowledge of the relation between the topological order in FQAH states and the Landau-type of symmetry breaking order such as the 1D smectic electronic liquid crystal and 2D charge-density-wave (CDW) solid. Although the transitions from topological states to symmetry breaking states with trivial topology have been discussed, the road from one topological ordered state to another with the same Hall conductance and broken translational symmetry has not been found. Here we show the intriguing evidence that the FQAH to FQAH Smectic (FQAHS) transition is robustly realizable in the archetypal correlated flat Chern-band model at filling $\nu$ = 2/3. This transition is novel in that: i) the FQAHS acquires the same fractional Hall conductance as FQAH, which cannot be explained by mean-field band folding. The formation of smectic order can be viewed as perturbation around the transition point, and thus, do not destroy or change the original topology; ii) the charge excitation remains gapped across the transition although the neutral gap is closed at transition point; and iii) the transition is triggered by the softening of roton mode with the same wave vector as the smectic order. Our discovery opens countless new possibilities, both theoretical and experimental, in the fast-growing field of robust fractional Chern insulators.

Enhancing yield is recognized as a paramount driver to reducing production costs in semiconductor smart manufacturing. However, optimizing and ensuring high yield rates is a highly complex and technical challenge, especially while maintaining reliable yield diagnosis and prognosis, and this shall require understanding all the confounding factors in a complex condition. This study proposes a domain-specific explainable automated machine learning technique (termed xAutoML), which autonomously self-learns the optimal models for yield prediction, with an extent of explainability, and also provides insights on key diagnosis factors. The xAutoML incorporates tailored problem-solving functionalities in an auto-optimization pipeline to address the intricacies of semiconductor yield enhancement. Firstly, to capture the key diagnosis factors, knowledge-informed feature extraction coupled with model-agnostic key feature selection is designed. Secondly, combined algorithm selection and hyperparameter tuning with adaptive loss are developed to generate optimized classifiers for better defect prediction, and adaptively evolve in response to shifting data patterns. Moreover, a suite of explainability tools is provided throughout the AutoML pipeline, enhancing user understanding and fostering trust in the automated processes. The proposed xAutoML exhibits superior performance, with domain-specific refined countermeasures, adaptive optimization capabilities, and embedded explainability. Findings exhibit that the proposed xAutoML is a compelling solution for semiconductor yield improvement, defect diagnosis, and related applications.

The interplay of topological order and charge order exhibits rich physics. Recent experiments that succesfully realized the frational quantum anomalous Hall (FQAH) effect in twisted MoTe$_2$ bilayers and rhombohedral multilayer graphene without external magnetic field further call for deeper understanding of the relation between topological order and charge order in quantum moir\'e materials. In the archetypal correlated flat-band model on checkerboard lattice, a FQAH smectic state with coexistent topological order and smectic charge order has been numerically discovered at filling $\nu$ = 2/3. In this work, we explore the global ground-state phase diagram of the model with competing interactions and find a C = 2/3 FQAH phase surrounded by four different charge density wave (CDW) phases. In particular, we identify a FQAH-CDW transition triggered by roton condensation, in that, the minimal roton gap continues to decrease at the same finite momentum, along with the diverging density flucuations at the transition point, after which the system enters into a CDW metal phase with the same ordered wavevector. Our discovery points out that the charge-neutral roton modes can play a significant role in a transition from FQAH topological order to CDW symmetry-breaking order, discussed in FQH literature while severely neglected in FQAH systems.

Roy-equation analyses on lattice data of $\pi\pi$ scattering phase shifts at $m_\pi=391$MeV reveals that the lowest $f_0$ meson becomes a bound state under this condition. In addition, there is a pair of complex poles below threshold generated by crossing symmetry [X.-H. Cao et al., Phys. Rev. D 108, 034009 (2023)]. We use the $N/D$ method to partially recover crossing symmetry of the $O(N)$ $\sigma$ model amplitude at leading order of $1/N$ expansion, and qualitatively reproduce the pole structure and pole trajectories with varying pion masses as revealed by Roy-equation analyses. The $\sigma$ pole trajectory with varying temperature is also discussed and found to be similar to its properties when varying $m_\pi$. As the temperature increases, the complex $\sigma$ poles firstly move from the second Riemann sheet to the real axis becoming two virtual state poles, and then one virtual state pole moves to the first sheet turning into a bound state pole and finally tends to the pion pole position at high temperature which is as expected from the chiral symmetry restoration. Our results provide further evidences that the lowest $f_0$ state extracted from experiments and lattice data plays the role of $\sigma$ meson in the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. Motivated by recent advancements in theoretical and experimental studies on the high-energy excitations, we theoretically explore the quantum phase transition and composite dynamics of the antiferromagnetic trimer chains in a magnetic field using the exact diagonalization, density matrix renormalization group, time-dependent variational principle and cluster perturbation theory. We measure the entanglement entropy to uncover the phase diagram, encompassing the XY-I, $1/3$ magnetization plateau, XY-II and ferromagnetic phases. Both critical XY-I and XY-II phases are both described by the conformal field theory with the central charge $c \simeq 1$. By analyzing the dynamical structure factor, we elucidate the distinct features of spin dynamics across different phases. In the regime of weak intertrimer interaction, we identify the intermediate-energy and high-energy modes in the XY-I and $1/3$ magnetization plateau phases as the internal trimer excitations, corresponding to the propagation of doublon and quarton, respectively. Notably, the application of a magnetic field splits the high-energy spectra into two branches labeled as the upper quarton and lower quarton. Furthermore, we also explore the spin dynamics of a trimerized model closely related to the quantum magnet \ce{Na_2Cu_3Ge_4O_12}, and discuss the possibility of the quarton Bose-Einstein condensation. We study the spin-$1/2$ Heisenberg model on the square lattice with the first and second nearest-neighbor antiferromagnetic couplings $J_1$, $J_2$, as well as the three-spin scalar chiral coupling $J_{\chi}$. Using density matrix renormalization group calculations, we obtain a quantum phase diagram of this system for $0 \leq J_2/J_1 \leq 1.0$ and $0 \leq J_{\chi}/J_1 \leq 1.5$. We identify the N\'eel and stripe magnetic order phase at small $J_{\chi}$ coupling. With growing $J_{\chi}$, we identify the emergent chiral spin liquid (CSL) phase characterized by the quantized spin Chern number $C = 1/2$ and entanglement spectrum with the quasidegenerate group of levels agreeing with chiral SU(2)$_1$ conformal field theory, which is an analog of the $\nu = 1/2$ Laughlin state in spin system. In the vicinity of the N\'eel and CSL phase boundary, our numerical results do not find evidence to support the phase coexistence of N\'eel order and topological order that was conjectured by mean-field calculations. In the larger $J_2$ and $J_{\chi}$ coupling regime, the entanglement spectrum of the ground state also exhibits the chiral quasidegeneracy consistent with a CSL, but the adiabatic flux insertion simulations fail to obtain the quantized Chern number. By analyzing the finite-size scaling of magnetic order parameter, we find the vanished magnetic order suggesting a magnetic disorder phase, whose nature needs further studies. Different from the spin-$1$ $J_1$-$J_2$-$J_\chi$ model, we do not find the coexistent stripe magnetic order and topological order. We also investigate the $J_{\chi}$ dominant regime and find a strong tendency of the system to develop a dimer order rather than the chiral spin magnetic order observed in the spin-$1$ model., Comment: 16 pages, 17 figures

We investigate the magnetic excitations of the trimerized Heisenberg models with intra-trimer interaction $J_1$ and inter-trimer interaction $J_2$ on four different two-dimensional lattices using a combination of stochastic series expansion quantum Monte Carlo (SSE QMC) and stochastic analytic continuation methods (SAC), complemented by cluster perturbation theory (CPT). These models exhibit quasi-particle-like excitations when $g=J_2/J_1$ is small, characterized by low-energy magnons, intermediate-energy doublons, and high-energy quartons. The low-energy magnons are associated with the magnetic ground states. They can be described by the linear spin wave theory (LSWT) of the effective block spin model and the original spin model. Doublons and quartons emerge from the corresponding internal excitations of the trimers with distinct energy levels, which can be effectively analyzed using perturbation theory when the ratio of exchange interactions $g$ is small. In this small $g$ regime, we observe a clear separation between the magnon and higher-energy spectra. However, as $g$ increases, these three spectra gradually merge into the magnon modes or continua. Nevertheless, the LSWT fails to provide quantitative descriptions of the higher-energy excitation bands due to significant quantum fluctuations. Notably, in the Collinear II and trimerized hexagon lattice, a broad continuum emerges above the single-magnon spectrum, originating from the quasi-1D physics due to the dilute connections between chains. Our numerical analysis of these 2D trimers yields valuable theoretical predictions and explanations for the inelastic neutron scattering (INS) spectra of 2D magnetic materials featuring trimerized lattices.

Symmetry-breaking orders can not only compete with each other, but also be interwined, and the interwined topological and symmetry-breaking orders make the situation more intriguing. This work examines the archetypal correlated flat band model on a checkerboard lattice at filling $\nu=2/3$ and we find the unique interplay between smectic charge order and topological order gives rise to two novel quantum states. As the interaction strength increases, the system first transitions from a Fermi liquid into FQAH smectic (FQAHS) state, where FQAH topological order coexists cooperatively with smectic charge order with enlarged ground-state degeneracy and interestingly, the Hall conductivity is $\sigma_{xy}=\nu=2/3$, different from the band-folding or doping scenarios. Further increasing the interaction strength, the system undergoes another quantum phase transition and evolves into a polar smectic metal (PSM) state. This emergent PSM is an anisotropic non-Fermi liquid, whose interstripe tunneling is irrelevant while it is metallic inside each stripe. Different from the FQAHS and conventional smectic orders, this PSM spontaneously breaks the two-fold rotational symmetry, resulting in a nonzero electric dipole moment and ferroelectric order. In addition to the exotic ground states, large-scale numerical simulations are also used to study low-energy excitations and thermodynamic characteristics. We find the onset temperature of the incompressible FQAHS state, which also coincides with the onset of non-polar smectic order, is dictated by the magneto-roton modes. Above this onset temperature, the PSM state exists at intermediate-temperature regime. Although the T = 0 quantum phase transition between PSM and FQAHS is first order, the thermal FQAHS-PSM transition could be continuous. We expect the features of the exotic states and thermal phase transitions could be accessed in future experiments.

Employing the projective formalism of determinant quantum Monte Carlo (DQMC) simulations, we meticulously explore the ground-state phase diagram and critical behavior of the half-filled Hubbard model on a square-hexagon-octagon (SHO) lattice. This lattice, a two-dimensional (2D) structure comprising squares, hexagons, and octagons, is representative of the biphenylene network (BPN). Our findings reveal an intriguing ground-state phase diagram, featuring an antiferromagnetic (AFM) Mott insulating phase enveloped by three valence-bond solid-like (VBS-like) insulating phases. Analyzing the single-particle gap, spin gap, and single-particle spectral function, we observe that the metallic state in the noninteracting case becomes unstable under the influence of Hubbard U. This interaction drives the system into a hexagon insulating phase before transitioning into an AFM Mott insulating phase. To quantify the critical exponents, we use finite-size scaling techniques. The critical exponents of quantum critical points between the AFM Mott insulating phase and two insulating phases, plaquette insulator and ethylene insulator, closely align with the 3D O(3) universality class. However, the critical exponents of quantum critical points between the hexagon insulating phase and the AFM Mott insulating phase deviate from the 3D O(3) universality class. This deviation is a finite-size effect and can be attributed to the coupling between the fluctuations of magnetic order parameter and very low-energy fermionic excitations. Our comprehensive study not only advances the understanding of correlation effects on the SHO lattice but also sheds light on the less-explored critical exponents in weakly insulating quantum critical point.

Intelligent equipment fault diagnosis based on Federated Transfer Learning (FTL) attracts considerable attention from both academia and industry. It allows real-world industrial agents with limited samples to construct a fault diagnosis model without jeopardizing their raw data privacy. Existing approaches, however, can neither address the intense sample heterogeneity caused by different working conditions of practical agents, nor the extreme fault label scarcity, even zero, of newly deployed equipment. To address these issues, we present FedLED, the first unsupervised vertical FTL equipment fault diagnosis method, where knowledge of the unlabeled target domain is further exploited for effective unsupervised model transfer. Results of extensive experiments using data of real equipment monitoring demonstrate that FedLED obviously outperforms SOTA approaches in terms of both diagnosis accuracy (up to 4.13 times) and generality. The attractive interaction between $J/\psi$ and $\psi(3770)$ has to be strong enough to form the molecular resonant structure, i.e., $X(6900)$. We argue that since $\psi(3770)$ decays predominantly into a $D\bar D$ pair, the interactions between $J/\psi$ and $\psi(3770)$ may be significantly enhanced due to the three point $D\bar D$ loop diagram. The enhancement comes from the anomalous threshold located at $t=-1.288$GeV$^2$, which effect propagates into the $s$-channel partial wave amplitude in the vicinity of $\sqrt{s}\simeq 6.9$GeV. Integer and fractional Chern insulators have been extensively explored in correlated flat band models. Recently, the prediction and experimental observation of fractional quantum anomalous Hall (FQAH) states with spontaneous time-reversal-symmetry breaking have garnered attention. While the thermodynamics of integer quantum anomalous Hall (IQAH) states have been systematically studied, our theoretical knowledge on thermodynamic properties of FQAH states has been severely limited. Here, we delve into the general thermodynamic response and collective excitations of both IQAH and FQAH states within the paradigmatic flat Chern-band model with remote band considered. Our key findings include: i) In both $\nu$ = 1 IQAH and $\nu$ = 1/3 FQAH states, even without spin fluctuations, the charge-neutral collective excitations would lower the onset temperature of these topological states, to a value significantly smaller than the charge gap, due to band-mixing and multi-particle scattering; ii) By employing large-scale thermodynamic simulations in FQAH states in the presence of strong inter-band mixing between C = $\pm1$ bands, we find that the lowest collective excitations manifest as the zero-momentum excitons in the IQAH state, whereas in the FQAH state, they take the form of magneto-rotons with finite momentum; iii) The unique charge oscillations in FQAH states are exhibited with distinct experimental signatures, which we propose to detect in future experiments.

We propose that domain walls formed in a classical Ginzburg-Landau model can exhibit topologically stable but thermodynamically metastable states. This proposal relies on Allen-Cahn's assertion that the velocity of domain wall is proportional to the mean curvature at each point. From this assertion we speculate that domain wall behaves like a rubber band that can winds the background geometry in a nontrivial way and can exist permanently. We numerically verify our proposal in two and three spatial dimensions by using various boundary conditions. It is found that there are possibilities to form topologically stable domain walls in the final equilibrium states. However, these states have higher free energies, thus are thermodynamically metastable. A version of the singular Yamabe problem in smooth domains in a closed manifold yields complete conformal metrics with negative constant scalar curvatures. In this paper, we study the blow-up phenomena of Ricci curvatures of these metrics on domains whose boundary is close to a certain limit set of a lower dimension. We will characterize the blow-up set according to the Yamabe invariant of the underlying manifold. In particular, we will prove that all points in the lower dimension part of the limit set belong to the blow-up set on manifolds not conformally equivalent to the standard sphere and that all but one point in the lower dimension part of the limit set belong to the blow-up set on manifolds conformally equivalent to the standard sphere. In certain cases, the blow-up set can be the entire manifold. We will demonstrate by examples that these results are optimal.

Accurate perception is essential for advancing autonomous driving and addressing safety challenges in modern transportation systems. Despite significant advancements in computer vision for object recognition, current perception methods still face difficulties in complex real-world traffic environments. Challenges such as physical occlusion and limited sensor field of view persist for individual vehicle systems. Cooperative Perception (CP) with Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies has emerged as a solution to overcome these obstacles and enhance driving automation systems. While some research has explored CP's fundamental architecture and critical components, there remains a lack of comprehensive summaries of the latest innovations, particularly in the context of V2X communication technologies. To address this gap, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the evolution of CP technologies, spanning from early explorations to recent developments, including advancements in V2X communication technologies. Additionally, a contemporary generic framework is also proposed to illustrate the V2X-based CP workflow, aiding in the structured understanding of CP system components. Furthermore, this paper categorizes prevailing V2X-based CP methodologies based on the critical issues they address. An extensive literature review is conducted within this taxonomy, evaluating existing datasets and simulators. Finally, open challenges and future directions in CP for autonomous driving are discussed by considering both perception and V2X communication advancements.

Online multi-object tracking (MOT) plays a pivotal role in autonomous systems. The state-of-the-art approaches usually employ a tracking-by-detection method, and data association plays a critical role. This paper proposes a learning and graph-optimized (LEGO) modular tracker to improve data association performance in the existing literature. The proposed LEGO tracker integrates graph optimization and self-attention mechanisms, which efficiently formulate the association score map, facilitating the accurate and efficient matching of objects across time frames. To further enhance the state update process, the Kalman filter is added to ensure consistent tracking by incorporating temporal coherence in the object states. Our proposed method utilizing LiDAR alone has shown exceptional performance compared to other online tracking approaches, including LiDAR-based and LiDAR-camera fusion-based methods. LEGO ranked 1st at the time of submitting results to KITTI object tracking evaluation ranking board and remains 2nd at the time of submitting this paper, among all online trackers in the KITTI MOT benchmark for cars1

We compute the Renyi entropy in a one-dimensional transverse-field quantum Ising model by employing a swapping operator acting on the states which are prepared from the neural network methods. In the static ground state, Renyi entropy can uncover the critical point of the quantum phase transition from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic. At the critical point, the relation between the Renyi entropy and the subsystem size satisfies the predictions from conformal field theory. In the dynamical case, we find coherent oscillations of the Renyi entropy after the end of the linear quench. These oscillations have universal frequencies which may come from the superpositions of excited states. The asymptotic form of the Renyi entropy implies a new length scale away from the critical point. This length scale is also verified by the overlap of the reduced Renyi entropy against the dimensionless subsystem size.

In this paper, we study the smooth isometric immersion of a complete, simply connected surface with a negative Gauss curvature into the three-dimensional Euclidean space. A fundamental and longstanding problem is to find a sufficient condition for a complete negatively curved surface to be isometrically embedded in R^3 [67]. It can be described as an initial and/or boundary value problem for a hyperbolic system of nonlinear partial differential equations derived from the Gauss-Codazzi equations. The mathematical theory associated with this system is largely incomplete. The global smooth isometric immersion has been proven in the literature when the Gauss curvature decays rapidly and monotonically. However, when the Gauss curvature oscillates or decays slowly, the problem becomes much more challenging and little is known. In our paper, we find a sufficient condition, consisting of a finite total Gauss curvature and appropriate oscillations of the Gauss curvature. Under this condition we prove the global existence of a smooth solution to the Gauss-Codazzi system, achieving a global smooth isometric immersion of the surface into R^3. Furthermore, we show that the finite total Gauss curvature is necessary for the existence of a solution in a special case of the Gauss-Codazzi system. New techniques are developed to overcome the difficulties posed by the slow decay and oscillations of the Gauss curvature. By observing that certain combinations of the Riemann invariants decay faster than others, we reformulate the Gauss-Codazzi equations as a symmetric hyperbolic system and uncover a crucial structure of partial dampings. These partial dampings, along with the finite total curvature and appropriate oscillations of the Gauss curvature, enable us to obtain a global smooth solution through delicate analysis, and consequently establish a global smooth isometric immersion of such surfaces., Comment: 53 pages, 1 figure; title and abstract revised, some necessary words added

Recently LHCb experimental group find an exotic state $T^+_{cc}$ from the process $p\bar{p} \to D^0D^0\pi^+ + X$. A key question is if it is just a molecule or may have confined tetraquark ingredient. To investigate this, different methods are taken, including two channel ($D^{*+}D^0$ and $D^{*0}D^+$) K-matrix unitarization and single channel Flatt\'e-like parametrization method analysed by pole counting rule and spectral density function sum rule. It demonstrates that $T^+_{cc}$ is a molecular state, though the possibility that there may exist elementary ingredient can not be excluded, by rough analysis on its production rate.

The 4D Millimeter wave (mmWave) radar is a promising technology for vehicle sensing due to its cost-effectiveness and operability in adverse weather conditions. However, the adoption of this technology has been hindered by sparsity and noise issues in radar point cloud data. This paper introduces spatial multi-representation fusion (SMURF), a novel approach to 3D object detection using a single 4D imaging radar. SMURF leverages multiple representations of radar detection points, including pillarization and density features of a multi-dimensional Gaussian mixture distribution through kernel density estimation (KDE). KDE effectively mitigates measurement inaccuracy caused by limited angular resolution and multi-path propagation of radar signals. Additionally, KDE helps alleviate point cloud sparsity by capturing density features. Experimental evaluations on View-of-Delft (VoD) and TJ4DRadSet datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and generalization ability of SMURF, outperforming recently proposed 4D imaging radar-based single-representation models. Moreover, while using 4D imaging radar only, SMURF still achieves comparable performance to the state-of-the-art 4D imaging radar and camera fusion-based method, with an increase of 1.22% in the mean average precision on bird's-eye view of TJ4DRadSet dataset and 1.32% in the 3D mean average precision on the entire annotated area of VoD dataset. Our proposed method demonstrates impressive inference time and addresses the challenges of real-time detection, with the inference time no more than 0.05 seconds for most scans on both datasets. We systematically study the effects of higher-order interactions on the S = 3/2, 1 orthogonal dimer chains using exact diagonalization and density matrix renormalization group. Due to frustration and higher spin, there are rich quantum phases, including three Haldane phases, two gapless phases and several magnetically ordered phases. To characterize these phases and their phase transitions, we study various physical quantities such as energy gap, energy level crossing, fidelity susceptibility, spin correlation, entanglement spectrum and central charge. According to our calculations, the biquadratic term can enhance the Haldane phase regions. In particular, we numerically identify that a Haldane phase in S = 3/2 case is adiabatically connected to the exact AKLT point when adding bicubic term. Our study on the orthogonal dimer model, which is a 1D version of Shastry-Sutherland model, provides insights into understanding the possible S = 3/2, 1 Haldane phases in quasi-1D and 2D frustrated magnetic materials., Comment: 14 pages, 17 figures

As an emerging technology and a relatively affordable device, the 4D imaging radar has already been confirmed effective in performing 3D object detection in autonomous driving. Nevertheless, the sparsity and noisiness of 4D radar point clouds hinder further performance improvement, and in-depth studies about its fusion with other modalities are lacking. On the other hand, as a new image view transformation strategy, "sampling" has been applied in a few image-based detectors and shown to outperform the widely applied "depth-based splatting" proposed in Lift-Splat-Shoot (LSS), even without image depth prediction. However, the potential of "sampling" is not fully unleashed. This paper investigates the "sampling" view transformation strategy on the camera and 4D imaging radar fusion-based 3D object detection. LiDAR Excluded Lean (LXL) model, predicted image depth distribution maps and radar 3D occupancy grids are generated from image perspective view (PV) features and radar bird's eye view (BEV) features, respectively. They are sent to the core of LXL, called "radar occupancy-assisted depth-based sampling", to aid image view transformation. We demonstrated that more accurate view transformation can be performed by introducing image depths and radar information to enhance the "sampling" strategy. Experiments on VoD and TJ4DRadSet datasets show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art 3D object detection methods by a significant margin without bells and whistles.
