Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a growing health concern, affecting one in three adults and 13% of children and adolescents worldwide. NAFLD is largely asymptomatic and often goes undiagnosed, putting individuals at risk for liver failure and other conditions. The prevalence of NAFLD is increasing due to rising rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes. If caught early, NAFLD is treatable through lifestyle interventions and medication. However, there is a lack of awareness, screening programs, and public health policies addressing NAFLD. Efforts are being made to raise awareness and improve screening and treatment options for this potentially dangerous condition. [Extracted from the article]
