In this paper, we investigate inaccuracy measures based on record values, focusing on the relationship between the distribution of the n-th upper and lower k-record values and the parent distribution. We extend the classical Kerridge inaccuracy measure, originally developed for comparing two distributions, to record values and derive expressions for both upper and lower record values. In addition, we explore various other inaccuracybased measures, such as cumulative residual inaccuracy, cumulative past inaccuracy, and extropy inaccuracy measures, and their applications in characterizing symmetric distributions. We compute these measures through illustrative examples for several well-known lifetime distributions, including the exponential, Pareto, and Weibull distributions. Our findings provide insights into how inaccuracy varies with record order and distribution parameters, contributing to a deeper understanding of information-theoretic measures applied to records.

Text summarization is a well-studied problem that deals with deriving insights from unstructured text consumed by humans, and it has found extensive business applications. However, many real-life tasks involve generating a series of actions to achieve specific goals, such as workflows, recipes, dialogs, and travel plans. We refer to them as planning-like (PL) tasks noting that the main commonality they share is control flow information. which may be partially specified. Their structure presents an opportunity to create more practical summaries to help users make quick decisions. We investigate this observation by introducing a novel plan summarization problem, presenting a dataset, and providing a baseline method for generating PL summaries. Using quantitative metrics and qualitative user studies to establish baselines, we evaluate the plan summaries from our method and large language models. We believe the novel problem and dataset can reinvigorate research in summarization, which some consider as a solved problem.

The cumulative residual extropy (CRJ) is a measure of uncertainty that serves as an alternative to extropy. It replaces the probability density function with the survival function in the expression of extropy. This work introduces a new concept called normalized dynamic survival extropy (NDSE), a dynamic variation of CRJ. We observe that NDSE is equivalent to CRJ of the random variable of interest $X_{[t]}$ in the age replacement model at a fixed time $t$. Additionally, we have demonstrated that NDSE remains constant exclusively for exponential distribution at any time. We categorize two classes, INDSE and DNDSE, based on their increasing and decreasing NDSE values. Next, we present a non-parametric test to assess whether a distribution follows an exponential pattern against INDSE. We derive the exact and asymptotic distribution for the test statistic $\widehat{\Delta}^*$. Additionally, a test for asymptotic behavior is presented in the paper for right censoring data. Finally, we determine the critical values and power of our exact test through simulation. The simulation demonstrates that the suggested test is easy to compute and has significant statistical power, even with small sample sizes. We also conduct a power comparison analysis among other tests, which shows better power for the proposed test against other alternatives mentioned in this paper. Some numerical real-life examples validating the test are also included.

In this manuscript, we studied the stochastic ordering behavior of series as well as parallel systems lifetimes comprising dependent and heterogeneous components, experiencing random shocks, and exhibiting distinct dependency structures. We establish certain conditions for the lifetime of individual components, the dependency among components defined by Archimedean copulas, and the impact of random shocks on the overall system lifetime to reach the conclusion. We consider components whose survival functions are either increasing log-concave or decreasing log-convex functions of the parameters involved and systems exhibit different dependency structures. These conditions make it possible to compare the lifetimes of two systems using the usual stochastic order framework. Our study introduces a fresh approach to representing weighted extropy in the framework of percentile ranked set sampling. In this paper, we introduce the cumulative past information generating function (CPIG) and relative cumulative past information generating function (RCPIG). We study its properties. We establish its relation with generalized cumulative past entropy (GCPE). We defined CPIG stochastic order and its relation with dispersive order. We provide the results for the CPIG measure of the convoluted random variables in terms of the measures of its components. We found some inequality relating to Shannon entropy, CPIG and GCPE. Some characterization and estimation results are also discussed regarding CPIG. We defined divergence measures between two random variables, Jensen-cumulative past information generating function(JCPIG), Jensen fractional cumulative past entropy measure, cumulative past Taneja entropy, and Jensen cumulative past Taneja entropy information measure.

An extension of Archimax copula class in more than two random variables ( Multivariate ) was introduced in (J\'agr 2011) for describing dependency structures among random variables in higher dimension, and some properties of Archimax copula were explored in (Charpentier et al. 2014). In this article, some results for stochastic ordering of extreme order statistics in (Li and Fang 2015) are generalized and proved in Archimax copula. In many statistical studies, the measure of uncertainties like entropy, extropy, varentropy and varextropy of a distribution function is of prime interest. This paper proposes estimators of extropy and varextropy. Proposed estimators are consistent. Based on extropy estimator, a test of symmetry is given. The proposed test has the advantage that we do not need to estimate the centre of symmetry. The critical value and power of the proposed test statistics have been obtained. Krylov complexity is a measure of operator growth in quantum systems, based on the number of orthogonal basis vectors needed to approximate the time evolution of an operator. In this paper, we study the Krylov complexity of a $\mathsf{PT}$-symmetric system of oscillators, which exhibits two phase transitions that separate a dissipative state, a Rabi-oscillation state, and an ultra-strongly coupled regime. We use a generalization of the $su(1,1)$ algebra associated to the Bateman oscillator to describe the Hamiltonian of the coupled system, and construct a set of coherent states associated with this algebra. We compute the Krylov (spread) complexity using these coherent states, and find that it can distinguish between the $\mathsf{PT}$-symmetric and $\mathsf{PT}$ symmetry-broken phases. We also show that the Krylov complexity reveals the ill-defined nature of the vacuum of the Bateman oscillator, which is a special case of our system. The prospect of establishing extra-terrestrial habitats using in situ resource utilization (ISRU) constitutes a long-term goal of multiple space agencies around the world. In this work, we investigate sintering as a potential route for making building blocks -- termed synthetic space bricks -- using \emph{in situ} regolith material. By systematically investigating sintering parameters using a numerical lattice model, coupled with experimental observations and post sintering characterization, we propose a process protocol for two lunar -- lunar highland simulant (LHS) and lunar mare dust simulant (LMS) -- and one martian (martian global simulant, MGS) simulants. The resulting bricks demonstrate compressive strengths of upto 45 MPa under uniaxial loading, depending on the simulant used. These strengths are much greater than those typically mandated for structural applications under reduced gravity. We infer microscale sintering mechanisms at the individual particle level indirectly, by measuring temporal evolution exponents of sample dimensions during sintering. For all three simulants, volume diffusion appears to be the primary mechanism for particle coalescence. Our results clearly make a strong case for the use of sintering as a potentially scalable method for consolidating regolith into brick-like structures for load-bearing applications in extra-terrestrial settings., Comment: 23 pages, 7 figures

In mapping enterprise applications, data mapping remains a fundamental part of integration development, but its time consuming. An increasing number of applications lack naming standards, and nested field structures further add complexity for the integration developers. Once the mapping is done, data transformation is the next challenge for the users since each application expects data to be in a certain format. Also, while building integration flow, developers need to understand the format of the source and target data field and come up with transformation program that can change data from source to target format. The problem of automatic generation of a transformation program through program synthesis paradigm from some specifications has been studied since the early days of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Programming by Example (PBE) is one such kind of technique that targets automatic inferencing of a computer program to accomplish a format or string conversion task from user-provided input and output samples. To learn the correct intent, a diverse set of samples from the user is required. However, there is a possibility that the user fails to provide a diverse set of samples. This can lead to multiple intents or ambiguity in the input and output samples. Hence, PBE systems can get confused in generating the correct intent program. In this paper, we propose a deep neural network based ambiguity prediction model, which analyzes the input-output strings and maps them to a different set of properties responsible for multiple intent. Users can analyze these properties and accordingly can provide new samples or modify existing samples which can help in building a better PBE system for mapping enterprise applications.

In industrial, environmental, and ecological investigations, ranked set sampling is a sample method that enables the experimenter to use the whole range of population values. The ranked set sampling process can be modified in two extremely helpful ways: maximum ranked set sampling with unequal samples and minimum ranked set sampling with unequal samples. They permit an increase in set size without too many ranking errors being introduced. In this paper, we are defining general weighted extropy (GWJ) of minimum and maximum ranked set samples when samples are of unequal size (minRSSU and maxRSSU, respectively). Stochastic comparison and monotone properties have been studied under different situations. Additionally, we compare the extropy of these two sampling data with that of ranked set sampling data and simple random sampling data. We take into account GWCRJ-based uncertainty measures for the minimal ranked set sampling technique with unequal samples (minRSSU). Additionally, we take into account GWCPJ-based uncertainty measures for the maximum ranked set sampling technique with unequal samples (maxRSSU). Gupta and Chaudhary [14] introduced general weighted extropy and studied related properties. In this paper, we study conditional extropy and define the monotonic behaviour of conditional extropy. Also, we obtain results on the convolution of general weighted extropy.

In this paper, we define general weighted cumulative residual extropy (GWCRJ) and general weighted negative cumulative extropy (GWNCJ). We obtain its simple estimators for complete and right censored data. We obtain some results on GWCREJ and GWNCJ. We establish its connection to reliability theory and coherent systems. We also propose empirical estimators of weighted negative cumulative extropy (WNCJ).

In this paper, we are testing the symmetry in the distribution of data observed on a random variable. A number of recent works have argued that quantum complexity, a well-known concept in computer science that has re-emerged recently in the context of the physics of black holes, may be used as an efficient probe of novel phenomena such as quantum chaos and even quantum phase transitions. In this article, we provide further support for the latter, using a 1-dimensional p-wave superconductor - the Kitaev chain - as a prototype of a system displaying a topological phase transition. The Hamiltonian of the Kitaev chain manifests two gapped phases of matter with fermion parity symmetry; a trivial strongly-coupled phase and a topologically non-trivial, weakly-coupled phase with Majorana zero-modes. We show that Krylov-complexity (or, more precisely, the associated spread-complexity) is able to distinguish between the two and provides a diagnostic of the quantum critical point that separates them. Understanding the mechanical response and failure of consolidated extra-terrestrial soils requires analyses of the interactions between propagating cracks the material's inherent pore structure. In this work, we investigate the fracture behaviour of lunar soil simulant consolidated using microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP). We develop a numerical framework, based on a lattice network with local beam elements, to simulate the nucleation, propagation, branching and merging of multiple cracks within the sample. Our simulations capture the effects of local pores on crack paths as well as provides a means to predict the behaviour of samples with varying global porosity and/or uncertainties in local material stiffness. We identify multiple statistical lattice parameters that encode signatures of single or multiple crack growth events. Our results reveal the complexities involved in the fracture process with porous brittle solids and may easily be adapted to understand failure mechanisms and micro/macro crack evolution in other consolidated structures., Comment: 24 pages, 7 figures, 1 table

The quality of training data has a huge impact on the efficiency, accuracy and complexity of machine learning tasks. Various tools and techniques are available that assess data quality with respect to general cleaning and profiling checks. However these techniques are not applicable to detect data issues in the context of machine learning tasks, like noisy labels, existence of overlapping classes etc. We attempt to re-look at the data quality issues in the context of building a machine learning pipeline and build a tool that can detect, explain and remediate issues in the data, and systematically and automatically capture all the changes applied to the data. We introduce the Data Quality Toolkit for machine learning as a library of some key quality metrics and relevant remediation techniques to analyze and enhance the readiness of structured training datasets for machine learning projects. The toolkit can reduce the turn-around times of data preparation pipelines and streamline the data quality assessment process. Our toolkit is publicly available via IBM API Hub [1] platform, any developer can assess the data quality using the IBM's Data Quality for AI apis [2]. Detailed tutorials are also available on IBM Learning Path [3].

A $k$-out-of-$n$ system consisting of $n$ exchangeable components equipped with a single cold standby component is considered. All the components including standby are assumed to be dependent and this dependence is modeled by a copula function. An exact expression for the reliability function of the considered system has been obtained. We also compute three different mean residual life functions of the system. An outlier is an observation or a data point that is far from rest of the data points in a given dataset or we can be said that an outlier is away from the center of mass of observations. Presence of outliers can skew statistical measures and data distributions which can lead to misleading representation of the underlying data and relationships. It is seen that the removal of outliers from the training dataset before modeling can give better predictions. With the advancement of machine learning, the outlier detection models are also advancing at a good pace. Recently in various theoretical works, path-breaking progress has been made in recovering the well-known Page Curve of an evaporating black hole with Quantum Extremal Islands, proposed to solve the long-standing black hole information loss problem related to the unitarity issue. Motivated by this concept, in this paper, we study cosmological circuit complexity in the presence (or absence) of Quantum Extremal Islands in the negative (or positive) Cosmological Constant with radiation in the background of Friedmann-Lema$\hat{i}$tre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) space-time i.e the presence and absence of islands in anti-de Sitter and the de Sitter spacetime having SO(2, 3) and SO(1, 4) isometries respectively. Without using any explicit details of any gravity model, we study the behaviour of the circuit complexity function with respect to the dynamical cosmological solution for the scale factors for the above-mentioned two situations in FLRW space-time using squeezed state formalism. By studying the cosmological circuit complexity, Out-of-Time Ordered Correlators, and entanglement entropy of the modes of the squeezed state, in different parameter spaces, we conclude the non-universality of these measures.
