This article presents the properties of a Ti coating (angle of grain growth, thickness of the deposited layer, adhesion, and roughness of the deposited layer) deposited on the inner surface of a steel tube. The Ti coating was deposited using the EB PVD (electron beam physical vapor deposition) method. The areas in which the measurements were carried out are defined by the height of the measured area under the target (from 305 to 425 mm) and the radius of the tube (from 100 to 140 mm). The measurements showed that the angle of grain growth is in an interval from 40 to 61°. The results of the statistical analysis demonstrate that the height of the measured area and the tube radius significantly impact the angle of grain growth and adhesion. On the other hand, the impact of the height of the measured area and the tube radius on the roughness of the applied coating was not confirmed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Risk management facilitates risk identification, evaluation, control, and by means of appropriate set of measures, risk reduction or complete elimination. Therefore, the risk management becomes a strategic factor for a company’s success. Properly implemented risk management system does not represent a tool to avoid the risk; it is used to understand the risk and provide the bases for strategic decision-making.

This article describes a method of obtaining data from the examination of an impact process by capturing it with a TroubleShooter TSHRMM high-speed camera and evaluating the results of a video analysis of the impact of the load on a conveyor belt using MiDAS Player version 5.0.0.3. By using the conveyor belt deflection obtained from the video analysis and the visual damage to the conveyor belt from an impactor, damage classification models were created. This model was created for two groups of experiments that took place without the presence of a support system and with the presence of a support system, respectively. As the standard of living rises, the energy consumption of electricity and fuels increases not only in Slovakia but across the European Union. Future energy demand will be based on population growth, and it is the key factor of economic and social development of the society, with an emphasis being put on improving the quality of life. This study focused on the development of the final energy consumption (FEC) of individual fuels, electricity and heat, including their shares in the final energy consumption in selected economy sectors in Slovakia. Time-series analysis methods were applied to predict energy consumption for the next three years. Although we have witnessed a decrease in the total energy consumption in individual sectors in Slovakia in the years 2005–2015, energy consumption generally exhibits an increasing trend. In all of the analysed sectors, the development of final consumption of energy from renewable energy sources (RESs) and wastes exhibited a rising trend; nevertheless, the results of our evaluation indicated that Slovakia still has some major shortcomings as to the utilisation of RESs. Measurements of the dynamic load of conveyor belts of identical strengths were used to evaluate and compare the data for belts with and without a support system. The goal was to identify the effects of the support system in terms of a relative amount of impact energy absorbed by a conveyor belt. A dynamic model was designed based on selected parameters of the impact process.
