This e-book is a supplement to the Proceedings of the International Society for Intelligent Construction 2022 Conference (ISIC 2022). The content encompasses a brief history of the International Society for Intelligent Construction (ISIC), the abstracts/extended abstracts of the Key Speakers as well as of the papers not published in the Proceedings. Additionally, the Committees and the final conference program, together with the sponsors list, are included as an appendix to this document. The Proceedings of the full peer-review conference papers will be published by Springer Series Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering under the title “Trends on Construction in the Post-Digital Era”.

This e-book is a supplement to the Proceedings of the 3rd ICTG and other documentation distributed to the participants, including a report of the Conference (photos, organization, sponsors, Conference programme, opening ceremony, social programme, the first meeting of the International Intelligent Construction Technologies Group, announcements, closing ceremony, and Conference statistics), as well as the links to the e-books of its associated Workshops and to the 1st Young Transportation Geotechnics Engineers meeting. Additive manufactured thermoplastic facades are an emerging topic in the building industry. Such building envelopes have free-form designs, which can enable sustainable solutions. However, the connections between the panels of these thermoplastic facades have not been investigated. These joints are not yet integrated into the 3D-printed facade design. Consequently, there is a research gap in designing holistic connections in additively manufactured facades. This paper is a foundation study that aims to find suitable design parameters for such connections. It is an initial analysis in the emerging field of AM facades, aiming to tackle the fundamentals of designing for 3D-printed facade assembly. The study highlights a series of possible constraints and opportunities in connecting discretized 3D printed panels. In railway track asset management, limited funding is available to ensure safe and punctual train traffic on an aging rail network. Assessing railway structure problems, their severity and extent is a difficult and laborious task to which different methods have been applied. Further, determining problematic areas and identifying their rehabilitation needs are two separate operations. In this research, data mining and data analysis of railway track structure data was used to identify different types of track behavior and corresponding substructure conditions. A descriptive data mining method, Generalized Unary Hypothesis Automata (GUHA), was adopted. Soil samples were taken and tested on the basis of the conducted analyses. The purpose was to see whether deductions made from the data, concerning the condition of the track substructure, could be confirmed with soil sampling and related soil sample laboratory tests. The research was carried out in three parts. First, multiple data sources were used to comprise an initial data matrix, which was used in data mining and data analyses. After the analyses, fifty subballast and ten ballast sampling points were chosen according to the findings from data mining and data analysis, and samples were taken and tested. The last part of the research was to see how the laboratory test results corresponded with the analyses made from the data. The research showed that GUHA data mining and data analysis can be used to detect sections of track with problematic substructures, but further research is required to improve the initial data. acceptedVersion
