This study investigated the impact of low-dose electron beam irradiation on the structure-property correlation of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), ternary copolymer polypropylene (co-PP), and their blends. Effects of the absorbed dose on the rheological properties, strength, crystallization behavior, crystal structure, and mechanical properties of LLDPE/co-PP blended polyolefins with various blending ratios were examined. The melt index test results indicate that, for LLDPE: co-PP ratios of 3∶1 and 1∶1, the melt index of each prepared polyolefin decreases and its crosslinking degree increases as the absorbed dose increases. However, for a LLDPE: co-PP ratio of 1∶3, the crosslinking degree of the polyolefin decreased with increasing absorbed dose. The crystal structure and crystallization behavior of the polyolefins were minimally affected by their absorbed doses, however, varying the ratios of blended LLDPE and co-PP affected the crystallization of both LLDPE and co-PP. For a blend with 1: 1 ratio, an absorbed dose greater than 2 kGy resulted in a sample elongation at break exceeding 890% and a fracture strength of 25.4 MPa those of both LLDPE and co-PP. Additionally, the stress-strain curves of the prepared polyolefins indicated that the absorbed dose enhanced the compatibility between LLDPE and co-PP. Thus, low-dose irradiation of LLDPE/co-PP polyolefins would offer a new avenue of research on polyolefin product development.

In the long-distance transportation of natural gas, the oleophobic coalescing filter element will experience secondary entrainment and a decrease in filtration efficiency when the gas velocity is too high. Herein, an testing device for the filtration performance of the gasliquid coalescing filter element was established according to the relevant test standards. The effects of the precision grade of the filter element, the material of the drainage layer and the punching height of the inner skeleton on the filtration performance of the oleophobic coalescing filter element under high gas velocity were studied and analyzed. The results show that the high-precision filter material is easy to cause the accumulation of liquid between the last layer of filter material and the drainage layer during filtration at high gas velocity, resulting in the high-precision filter material failing to achieve the optimal filtration effect. Instead, the filter material with moderate precision has the best filtration performance. When the material of the drainage layer is changed to primary felt and sponge,the pressure drop in the channels of the filter element is reduced, the drainage speed of the last filter material layer is accelerated, the liquid accumulation between the last filter material layer and the drainage layer is mitigated, and the secondary entrainment of the filter element is significantly weakened. The secondary entrainment of the filter element can be effectively reduced when the punching height in the inner skeleton is 2 cm from the bottom of the filter element.

Abstract The Nod‐like receptor (NLR) family CARD domain containing 5 (NLRC5) has been reported as an activator of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I that is responsible for immune activity in cancer treatment. This work focuses on the role of BMI1 proto‐oncogene (BMI1) in the NLRC5‐HLA class I axis and in immune escape in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). First, immunoblot analysis and/or reverse transcription‐quantitative polymerase chain reaction were performed, which identified decreased NLRC5 and HLA class I levels in NSCLC tissues and cell lines. NSCLCs were co‐cultured with activated CD8+ T cells. Overexpression of NLRC5 in NSCLC cells elevated the expression of HLA class I and increased the activity of T cells and IL‐2 production, and it reduced the PD‐1/PD‐L1 levels. The ubiquitination and immunoprecipitation assays confirmed that BMI1 bound to NLRC5 to induce is ubiquitination and protein degradation. Downregulation of BMI1 in NSCLC cells elevated NLRC5 and HLA class I levels, and consequently promoted T cell activation and decreased PD‐1/PD‐L1 levels in the co‐culture system. However, overexpression of BMI1 in cells led to inverse trends. In summary, this study demonstrates that BMI1 induces ubiquitination and protein degradation of NLRC5 and suppresses HLA class I expression, which potentially helps immune escape in NSCLC.

The aerial roots of Chlorophytum comosum were grown hydroponically, allowing us to study the performance and mechanism of negative phototropism. The results of this study were as follows. All the adventitious roots and their branch roots bent away from light with a maximum curvature of approximately 88.5°. Blue-violet light prominently induced negative phototropism while red light had no effect. The root cap was the site of photo perception. Roots with shaded or divested root caps exposed to unilateral light showed no negative phototropism, but resumed their original characteristics when the shade was removed or when new root caps grew. The curvature increased when the light intensity ranged 0–110 μmol · m−2 · s−1. The negative phototropism curvature could be promoted by exogenous CaCl2 but was inhibited by exogenous LaCl3; exogenous CaCl2 could reduce the inhibitory effect of LaCl3. Unilateral light induced the horizontal transport of IAA from the irradiated side to the shaded side, resulting in an unequal distribution of IAA in both the sides, leading to negative phototropism. The horizontal transport of IAA was promoted by exogenous Ca2+ but inhibited by exogenous La3+.

The Sarakan Gold Deposit is located in the vicinity of the Songsanu and Napafa villages, north of Sarakan County, Vientiane Province, Laos. It forms part of the Luang Prabang–Loei polymetallic metallogenic belt, and its metallogenic geological conditions are good and mineral resources are abundant. At present, most orebodies (mineralization) are deeply buried and greatly vary in terms of their characteristics; furthermore, the distribution and output of orebodies (mineralization) are not clear, which makes it difficult to find minerals in the area. Based on the comprehensive geological characteristics, geophysical anomalies, and interpretation results in the study area, it is believed that the Sarakan Gold Deposit is closely related to Indosinian felsic substance magmatic intrusions and is controlled by their structure. The type of deposits in the belt are brittle–ductile, shear structured, Quartz-pyrite, vein-type gold deposits. In this study, we carried out comprehensive geophysical methods, including the high-precision magnetic survey, induced polarization survey, and the transient electromagnetic measurement. Based on the characteristics of geophysical anomalies, geological inference, and interpretation, the integrated geophysical and geochemical prospecting criteria of the ore area have been determined: high magnetism, high polarization, and medium–high resistance are the signs pointing to concealed mineralization bodies in the study area, and this provided the best framework for us to discuss the deep geological bodies in the study area. The drilling verification results are consistent with the abnormalities delineated by the magnetic and electrical measurements. Our geophysical exploration results revealed the coupling relationship between the concealed intrusive body of the Sarakan Gold Deposit and the metallogenic structure, which provided a great opportunity for finding potentially similar deposits in the Luang Prabang–Loei polymetallic metallogenic belt. Adakites are magmatic rocks with specific geochemical characteristics and specific dynamics that provide important clues to understanding the magmatic-tectonic evolution of orogenic belts. We studied the Early Triassic Nanpo adakitic pluton of the Luang Prabang-Loei tectonic belt in the Eastern Tethys domain (Laos Sarakan) using detailed petrological, zircon U-Pb chronological, whole-rock geochemical, and zircon Lu-Hf isotope studies to constrain their petrogenesis. The rocks are predominantly diorites and granodiorites with Early Triassic zircon U-Pb emplacement ages ranging from 247.9 ± 1.0 to 249.0 ± 2.4 Ma. Moderate SiO2 (56.26–65.95 wt%) and Na2O (3.24–5.00 wt%) contents, with Na2O/K2O values between 1.76 and 2.51 and A/CNK values between 0.81 and 0.94, indicate that the rocks belong to the metaluminous calc-alkaline rock series. The high Sr content (590–918 ppm), low Y (6.30–11.89 ppm) and Yb (1.99–3.44 ppm) contents, intermediate Mg# (42–50) values, and high Sr/Y and (La/Yb) N ratios (Sr/Y = 24–41, (La/Yb) N = 6.84–13.8) are typical for adakites. Zircon Hf isotope analysis shows a significant variation in the εHf(t) values (6.7–12.0), with a mean value of 9.4 and a TDM2 of 512–845 Ma. Geochemical evidence indicates that the Nanpo adakitic rock was formed by the partial melting of the thickened lower crust in the plate-breaking environment and has an important contribution to the underplated mantle-derived magma. We propose that the Early Triassic adakites in the Luang Prabang-Loei tectonic belt formed during the transition from subduction to a continental collision, and the mixing of crust- and mantle-derived magmas is the main mechanism for the growth of continental crust in the Paleo-Tethys orogenic belt of southeastern Asia.
