Only a few electric propulsion solutions on-board small satellites have been operated in space, even if propulsion is nowadays seen as one of the most important subsystems for the future of small satellites. Exotrail demonstrated its Hall Effect Thruster propulsion solution in space at the end of 2020. It was the first Hall thruster ever flown onboard a satellite weighing below 100kg of mass, while also being the only known permanent magnet Hall Thruster demonstrated in space. Operations of small satellites with propulsion is a novel field and the behavior of such thrusters in space still brings new challenges. Exotrail developed its ExoMG™ propulsion system demonstrator between November 2018 and September 2019, when the flight model was delivered to the small satellite manufacturer NanoAvionics. The satellite was eventually launched in November 2020 and following the commissioning of the platform, the thruster was conditioned and subsequently fired. These two last steps will be detailed. The propulsion system consists of the propellant storage and regulation system, the control and power electronics, the actual thruster consisting of an anode and a cathode and a mechanical and thermal interface. It is operated through Exotrail’s ExoOPS™ - Operations software. The different subsystems will be described as well as their interaction. Each of them has many observables that will be detailed and discussed –typically temperatures, voltages. The operations software enables the monitoring of the orbital parameters, the maneuver generation, the housekeeping of the propulsion unit and the preparation of the maneuvers. It will be briefly described as it is the main software tool to understand the behavior of the thruster. The commissioning operations of the propulsion unit are firstly focused on health check and controllability of the environmental parameters. Then a health check of the active parts of the propulsion is performed. Finally, the firing sequence is initiated. The different steps, the expected and actual results will be presented and discussed. Finally, we will present the performance estimation of our propulsion unit. Thanks to our on-board GPS data, we perform maneuver restitution and we compare the in-flight performance with ground tests.

The poor access to data on the marine environment is a handicap to government decision-making, a barrier to scientific understanding and an obstacle to economic growth. In this light, the European Commission initiated the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) in 2009 to assemble and disseminate hitherto dispersed marine data. In the ten years since then, EMODnet has become a key producer of publicly available, harmonised datasets covering broad areas. This paper describes the methodologies applied in EMODnet Geology project to produce fully populated GIS layers of seabed substrate distribution for the European marine areas. We describe steps involved in translating national seabed substrate data, conforming to various standards, into a uniform EMODnet substrate classification scheme (i.e., the Folk sediment classification). Rock and boulders form an additional substrate class. Seabed substrate data products at scales of 1:250,000 and 1:1 million, compiled using descriptions and analyses of seabed samples as well as interpreted acoustic images, cover about 20% and 65% of the European maritime areas, respectively. A simple confidence assessment, based on sample and acoustic coverage, is helpful in identifying data gaps. The harmonised seabed substrate maps are particularly useful in supraregional, transnational and pan-European marine spatial planning. © 2019 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Il Progetto di Cartografia Geologica Italiana (CARG) include la rappresentazione delle aree sommerse, per le quali sono state elaborate dal Servizio Geologico d'Italia – ISPRA linee guida dedicate che seguono, per quanto possibile, gli stessi criteri adottati per le aree emerse. La rappresentazione cartografica delle aree sommerse si concentra sulla stratigrafia (sequenza deposizionale post-glaciale), sull'interpretazione dei processi sedimentari in un quadro ambientale e evolutivo, sulla morfologia e sulla sedimentologia dei fondali marini. Tutte le informazioni raccolte nel corso dei rilevamenti sono archiviate in una banca dati nazionale in continuo aggiornamento, realizzata alla scala 1:25.000. I dati resi disponibili dalla Cartografia Geologica Italiana stanno contribuendo costruttivamente alla realizzazione di una cartografia geologica digitale armonizzata a livello europeo, nella quale vengono convogliate tutte le conoscenze geologiche dei diversi paesi. The Italian Geological Mapping Project (CARG) includes the representation of submerged areas. For this purpose the Geological Survey of Italy - ISPRA has elaborated specific guidelines harmonized, as much as possible, with those applied on land. The cartographic representation of outcropping units focuses on stratigraphy (post-glacial depositional sequence), on the interpretation of sedimentary processes within an environmental and evolutionary framework, on the morphology and sedimentology of the seafloor. All information collected during surveys is stored in a constantly updated national database, realized at the 1: 25,000 scale. Data available from the Italian Geological Mapping Project are constructively contributing to the production of digital geological maps harmonized at European level, in which all of the geological knowledge of several countries is conveyed. These maps are one of the goals of the EMODnet - European Marine Observation and Data Network Project, aimed at building a freely accessible infrastructure containing all information related to submerged areas.

Liver transplant (LT) recipients are vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2-infection (COVID-19), due to immunosuppression and comorbidities. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on LT recipients compared to general population in the Campania region. In this prospective double-centre study, we enrolled all consecutive adult LT recipients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2-infection. Data were collected at diagnosis of COVID-19 and during follow-up and compared with the regional population. Thirty LT recipients (3.28%) developed SARS-CoV-2-infection (76.66% male, median age 62.61 years). Sixteen (53.33%) were symptomatic. Common symptoms were fever, cough, fatigue, and anosmia. Twenty-five (83.33%) were outpatients, 5 (16.66%) required hospitalization (6.66% admitted to Intensive Care Unit, 6.62% developed Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and 6.66% died). Immunosuppressors were in 3 (10%) patients.
