This article analyzes whether and how conferences and councils on policies for health and women in Minas Gerais interact with each other to shape a participatory and deliberative system in these policy areas. Thus, the article analytically and empirically evaluates: (1) how actors, topics, and norms act as connectors of these forums in each policy area; (2) whether those connections promote an integrated system in each policy area. To investigate the connections among the forums, we proposed four different techniques: observations of council meetings and conferences, document analysis, surveys, and interviews. We mixed these techniques to compare these two contrasting cases. As a result of this comparative analysis, we argue that the legal and political infrastructure in which policies are immersed induces the connectors to work systemically. Health policy, which is legally and institutionally more predictable than policy for women, ensures more favorable conditions for the actors to coordinate their actions, for the topics to be debated and transmitted, and for the norms to be disputed and legitimized. Therefore, we claim that the political-institutional resources are significant for the connectors to shape a participatory and deliberative system in each policy area. Resumo O artigo analisa se e como as conferências e conselhos de saúde e de políticas para as mulheres em Minas Gerais interagem para formar um sistema participativo e deliberativo nestas duas áreas de política. O artigo avalia analítica e empiricamente (1) como os atores, os temas e as normas atuam enquanto conectores desses fóruns e (2) se essas conexões promovem um sistema integrado em cada área de política. Para investigar as conexões entre as conferências e os conselhos utilizamos quatro técnicas de pesquisa diferentes: observações das reuniões dos conselhos e das conferências, análise de documentos, survey e entrevistas. As técnicas foram mobilizadas para comparar estes dois casos contrastantes. Como resultado da análise comparativa, argumentamos que a infraestrutura legal e política na qual as áreas de políticas estão imersas induz os conectores a funcionarem de forma sistêmica. A política de saúde, mais previsível jurídica e institucionalmente do que a política para as mulheres, garante condições mais favoráveis para os atores coordenarem suas ações, para os temas serem debatidos e veiculados, assim como para as normas serem contestadas e legitimadas. Desta forma, afirmamos que os recursos político-institucionais são fundamentais para que os conectores conformem um sistema participativo e deliberativo nas duas áreas de política analisadas. L'article évalue de manière analytique et empirique (1) comment les acteurs, les thèmes et les normes agissent comme connecteurs de ces forums et (2) si ces connexions favorisent un système intégré dans chaque domaine politique. Pour étudier les liens entre les forums, nous avons utilisé quatre techniques de recherche différentes : l'observation des réunions du conseil et de la conférence, l'analyse des documents, l'enquête et les entretiens. Ces techniques ont été mobilisées pour comparer ces deux cas contrastés. À la suite de l'analyse comparative, nous soutenons que l'infrastructure juridique et politique dans laquelle les domaines politiques sont immergés incite les connecteurs à fonctionner de manière systémique. La politique de santé, qui est plus prévisible sur le plan juridique et institutionnel que la politique envers les femmes, assure des conditions plus favorables pour que les acteurs coordonnent leurs actions, pour que les questions soient débattues et transmises, et pour que les normes soient contestées et légitimées. Par conséquent, nous affirmons que les ressources politico-institutionnelles sont importantes pour que les connecteurs se conforment à un système participatif et délibératif dans chacun des domaines politiques analysés.

O turismo é um dos maiores setores em todo o mundo, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento económico e criação de emprego em várias regiões. As alterações a nível das dinâmicas do turismo nos últimos anos obrigaram a uma adaptação por parte dos destinos. Em específico, no turismo pós-COVID-19 os turistas têm exibido um novo perfil de comportamento. As tendências observam-se ao nível do digital, à crescente preocupação com a saúde, ambiente e sustentabilidade, e ao nível da segurança. Neste sentido, o turismo médico, o turismo de bem-estar e o ecoturismo surgem como segmentos em crescimento. Existem diversas abordagens aos conceitos associados à temática do turismo de saúde dependendo da literatura e localização geográfica, pelo que este conceito está em processo de consolidação. Este estudo foi desenvolvido para explorar este tema e tentar delinear e compreender o segmento do bem-estar e o segmento médico. A investigação, de carácter exploratório, tem como objetivo principal analisar o turismo de saúde numa perspetiva da Região Autónoma dos Açores para entender a sua posição a nível regional. Para esta análise foi utilizada uma metodologia mista com recurso a entrevistas e questionários. A abordagem qualitativa permitiu explorar a opinião de agentes envolvidos nas áreas da hotelaria, da saúde e do turismo numa perspetiva da oferta. A abordagem quantitativa permitiu perceber a motivação e intenção dos residentes neste contexto. Os resultados sugerem que o turismo de saúde e bem-estar poderá constituir um produto de alto valor acrescentado para Região, potenciado pelos recursos naturais existentes e pela oferta de produtos e serviços de qualidade. ABSTRACT: Tourism is one of the largest sectors in the world, contributing to economic development and job creation in several regions. Changes in tourism dynamics in recent years have led to an adaptation by destinations. In post-COVID-19 tourism, tourists have presented a new behavior profile. In addition, trends are observed at the digital level, the growing concern for health, environment, sustainability, and safety. In this sense, medical tourism, wellness tourism and ecotourism emerge as opportunities. There are several interpretations of the concepts associated with the theme of health tourism depending on the literature and geographical location. Therefore, his study was developed to explore this theme and try to outline and understand the well-being and medical segments. The exploratory research aims to analyze health tourism from a perspective of the Autonomous Region of the Azores to understand its position at a regional level. A mixed methodology was used for this analysis, applying interviews and surveys. The qualitative approach allowed us to explore the opinion of agents involved in hospitality, health, and tourism from a supply perspective. On the other hand, the quantitative approach allowed us to perceive the motivation and intention of the residents in the context. The results suggest that health and wellness tourism could be a high added value product for the Region, enhanced by existing natural resources and quality products and services.

Dissertação de mestrado integrado em Engenharia e Gestão de Sistemas de Informação, Em 2001, a Resolução do Conselho de Ministros Nº 22/2001 determinou a avaliação periódica dos websites dos organismos da Administração Direta e Indireta do Estado. O objetivo era perceber o grau de atualização da informação disponibilizada, a clareza da forma como era apresentada, a facilidade de pesquisa da informação e o cumprimento das disposições legais relativas ao conteúdo e forma de apresentação das páginas dos organismos públicos no que diz respeito à sua acessibilidade por cidadãos com necessidades especiais. Neste contexto, e tendo em consideração as autarquias como elemento mediador fundamental entre os governos locais e os cidadãos e empresas, o GÁVEA – Observatório da Sociedade da Informação – iniciou uma série de estudos com o título “Avaliação da Presença na Internet das Câmaras Municipais Portuguesas”. O objetivo era avaliar os websites das câmaras municipais, com o intuito de entender em que nível de sofisticação, da sua presença na Internet, se encontravam e compará-lo com o dos outros governos locais portugueses. Para efetuar estes estudos foi criado um método, designado “Método de Avaliação da Presença na Internet das Câmaras Municipais Portuguesas” que avalia se os websites cumprem um conjunto de boas práticas recomendadas. The objective was to understand the degree of updating of the information made available, the clarity of the way it was presented, the ease of searching for the information and the compliance with legal provisions regarding the content and form of presentation of the pages of public bodies with regard to their accessibility by citizens with special needs. In this context and taking into account municipalities as a fundamental mediating element between local governments and citizens and companies, GÁVEA - Observatório da Sociedade da Informação - started a series of studies with the title “Avaliação da Presença na Internet das Câmaras Municipais Portuguesas”. The objective was to evaluate the websites of the city councils, in order to understand the level of sophistication of their presence on the Internet and compare it with other portuguese local governments. In order to carry out these studies, a method was created, called “Método de Avaliação da Presença na Internet das Câmaras Municipais Portuguesas” that assesses whether the websites comply with a set of recommended good practices. In this project, having as reference the “Guia de Boas Práticas para a Construção de Sítios Web da Administração Direta e Indireta do Estado” in its fourth version, are analysed and compared its sections and recommendations with the criteria and indicators of the “Método de Avaliação da Presença na Internet das Câmaras Municipais Portuguesas” in its fifth version, in order to build a proposal for a more current and complete version of the Evaluation Method.

AimsThough formalin remains to be the gold standard fixative in pathology departments, analytical challenges persist for nucleic acid evaluations. In our laboratory, formalin fixation of skin samples in particular impairs diagnostic accuracy and demands repetition of biopsies and analytical procedures. PAXgene Tissue Systems may be an alternative; however, according to manufacturer specifications it only allows fixation for 48 hours before having to add a stabiliser. This may be a challenge in laboratories, which are closed in weekends and bank holidays. Our aim was to validate this alternative fixative for dermatological samples with prolonged fixation times using standard laboratory protocols developed for formalin-fixed specimens. We compared the results with gold standard formalin fixation.MethodsSkin specimens were formalin or PAXgene fixed for either 2 hours, 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days, paraffin-embedded, analysed and scored by observers.ResultsGenerally, formalin outperformed PAXgene fixation in H&E stains and fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH), but both seem usable for diagnostics. Time of PAXgene fixation did not have an impact on alcian blue-Van Gieson (ABVG), H&E (p=0.48), nor immunohistochemistry (p=0.74). There was a tendency towards best PAXgene performance at 24 hours of fixation for FISH, and for DNA integrity analysis 24 hours or 3 days.ConclusionsProlonging PAXgene fixation time to 3 days before adding stabiliser does not seem to have major impact on performance of general diagnostic analysis, but our preliminary results show optimisation of internal protocols are needed. PAXgene is an expensive alternative and may be confined to some dermatological samples.

Climate change is one of the major challenges facing society today and more effective education is needed on this topic. This study analysed the effects of an inquiry-based science activity about climate change effects in ocean ecosystems, done in a research laboratory and in the classroom, on primary students’ knowledge, investigation skills and satisfaction. Data were collected through the application of pretests and posttests, direct observation, questionnaires, interviews and document analysis. Results revealed an increase in students’ scientific knowledge and application to new situations. Regarding investigation skills, all students were able to make predictions, and to easily observe and register data. However, experimental planning and conclusions were more difficult for them. Students and teachers emphasised their satisfaction with the outdoor activity, teamwork and the subject. The present study revealed a positive effect of the participation in the inquiry-based activity, embedded on a socio-scientific issue, in students’ conceptual knowledge and in the development of investigation skills.

This paper describes the existing web resources of learning objects to promote ocean literacy. The several projects and sites are explored, and the shortcomings revealed. The limitations identified include insufficient metadata about registered learning objects and lack of support for intelligent applications. As solution, we promote the seaThings project that relies on a multi-disciplinary approach to promote literacy in the marine environment by implementing a specific Learning Objects repositories (LOR) and a federation of repositories (FED), supported by a OBAA, a versatile and innovative standard that will provide the necessary support for intelligent applications for education purposes, to be used in schools and other educational institutions., Revista de Ciências da Computação, Vol 14 (2019)

Writing can be a tool for communicating or for learning. Increasingly, research emphasizes the epistemic function of writing. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a written intervention program in writing to learn the contents of Social Studies: the Social Studies contents learning and the writing skills are analysed. This is a quasi-experimental study with control group (CG) and experimental group (EG), carried out in the 4th year of primary school in a TEIP (Priority Intervention Educational Territory) cluster of schools in outskirts of Lisbon. A project work approach is chosen focusing expository texts writing. The results show that the intervention was a successful in terms of learning, with significant differences between the EG and the CG. The children of EG, while learning the contents of the Social Studies, developed writing skills - text knowledge and metatextual awareness - but also improved collaborative work. The analysis of the results supports the idea that writing to learn has an effect on the disciplinary contents, on the texts quality, the skills for description and explanation and the spelling. The results show to have implications for the classroom practices: the work carried out promotes literacy skills; knowledge construction and also it promotes students’ autonomy, motivation and responsibility. A escrita pode ser um instrumento para comunicar ou para aprender. Cada vez mais a investigação enfatiza a função epistémica da escrita. Neste estudo avalia-se a eficácia de um programa de intervenção em escrita para aprender os conteúdos de Estudo do Meio: analisam-se a construção de conhecimentos em conteúdos de Estudo do Meio e as habilidades desenvolvidas em escrita. Trata-se de uma pesquisa quase-experimental com grupo de controlo (GC) e grupo experimental (GE), realizada no 4º ano de escolaridade num agrupamento TEIP (Território Educativo de Intervenção Prioritária) na área da grande Lisboa. Optou-se por uma abordagem de trabalho de projeto no GE, com foco na escrita de textos expositivos. Os resultados mostram que a intervenção foi uma mais-valia em termos de aprendizagem, existindo diferenças significativas entre os alunos do GE e dos GC. As crianças do GE, ao mesmo tempo que aprenderam os conteúdos de Estudo do Meio, desenvolveram competências de escrita – conhecimentos de texto e consciência metatextual-, mas também de trabalho colaborativo. A análise dos resultados apoia a ideia de que escrever para aprender tem efeitos positivos sobre os conteúdos disciplinares, sobre a qualidade de escrita, o saber descrever e explicar e a ortografia. Os resultados têm implicações para as práticas de sala de aula dado que o trabalho realizado mostrou promover competências de literacia, construção de conhecimento e, ainda, favorecer uma maior autonomia, motivação e responsabilidade dos alunos.

In this paper we present an evaluation of an App for mobile devices, ‘Roteiro dos Descobrimentos’, as an educational digital resource for primary school students. The study involved the participation of 131 students and eight teachers. Data were collected from participant observation, students’ questionnaires and interviews to students and teachers. According to students, they learned new things, related with the topics explored, in an easy and funny way. Students also emphasized as positive aspects the fact that they had to face different challenges and the need to mobilize their knowledge to solve them. Teachers referred that students showed great interest and enthusiasm during the activities. As main gains, teachers stressed that the application fosters the relationship of students with the city, facilitates collaboration, and promotes students’ autonomy. In resume, it seems that the playful and interactive dimension of the App promoted the development of important skills such as the ability to interact with the environment, collaborative work, autonomy, and reading and interpretation skills. As a conclusion, there is a great receptivity to integrate mobile technologies in the teaching and learning process, but the role of the teacher can’t be dismissed, as a mediator and educator.

Colóquio Internacional "Memória e Identidade Insular: Religiosidade, Festividades e Turismo nos arquipélagos da Madeira e Açores", Auditório do CEHA, Funchal, 23 a 26 de outubro de 2018, Madeira. No âmbito da parceria desenvolvida pelo Centro de Estudos do Atlântico (CEHA) e o CHAM – Centro de Humanidades da Universidade dos Açores, fomos resgatar uma procissão, pouco conhecida entre nós, que ocorre, todos os anos, na Quarta-feira de cinzas, na paróquia de Santa Cecília, mais concretamente no Convento de S. Bernardino, em Câmara de Lobos. Gostaríamos de frisar que o texto agora editado representa uma primeira abordagem no espaço da investigação histórica e antropológica a este fenómeno de religiosidade popular. Uma vez recolhida a informação teórica acerca desta tradição, manifestamente pouca, optou-se por contactar, primeiro, o responsável pelo Convento de São Bernardino, Frei Nélio Mendonça, depois, os leigos da ordem Franciscana e, por último, a população residente na zona. O objetivo era ouvir os vários intervenientes e registar o grau de envolvência não só das famílias que guardam as imagens (santos) mas também daqueles que estão diretamente envolvidos nos preparativos da procissão. Pretendíamos recolher o máximo de informação (oral e visual) relativa ao dia da procissão propriamente dito, mas também no que diz respeito aos preparativos e acima de tudo testemunhar o que se passa durante o resto do ano, período durante o qual as imagens ficam recolhidas em várias casas. Era ainda nosso propósito aferir o impacto desta procissão não apenas no seio da comunidade câmara-lobense mas também na Ilha da Madeira. O trabalho de campo requer sempre preparação prévia e cuidada. Requer igualmente uma boa dose de boa vontade e espírito aberto. É importante estar atento aos detalhes e ouvir mais do que falar. A nossa missão enquanto “arqueólogos da memória” é registar. Não sendo possível “mostrar” toda a dimensão desta recolha, deixamos aqui alguns apontamentos. Resumo O artigo avalia comparativamente a capacidade inclusiva das Conferências de Saúde e de Assistência Social realizadas em 2011, em Minas Gerais, por meio de uma estratégia analítica que envolve três passos distintos. Através do survey realizado com 729 participantes destas Conferências, analisa-se (1) quem são os participantes destas Conferências, (2) o impacto da mudança de escala no perfil socioeconômico e político destes participantes e (3) as regras referentes ao recrutamento (quem pode participar) e à eleição dos(as) delegados(as)-representantes nestas inovações. O artigo constata que, embora as Conferências de Políticas Públicas tenham como objetivo incluir nacionalmente novas vozes ao processo de discussão e decisão das políticas públicas as quais elas estão vinculadas, este processo ocorre majoritariamente nas etapas locais, mas não em suas etapas superiores. O artigo ainda sugere que mudanças nas regras de seleção das conferências analisadas podem contribuir para mudar este cenário. Abstract This article evaluates comparatively the capacity of inclusion of the health and Social Assistance Conferences held in 2011 in Minas Gerais, through an analytical strategy that involves three distinct steps. Through a survey of 729 participants of these Conferences, this article comparatively analyzes: (1) who the participants of these Conferences are; (2) whether or not the impact of scale changes the participants’ socioeconomic and political profiles; and (3) what the PPC rules are concerning recruitment (who can participate) and representative processes (how are the delegate-representatives selected). The article found that these innovations include new actors, but they are not able to scale up and to get the higher scales, at least in Minas Gerais. To deal with these constraints, this article suggests the discussion and the changes on the PPC rules. Resumen El artículo evalúa comparativamente la capacidad inclusiva de las Conferencias de Salud y de Asistencia Social realizadas en 2011, en Minas Gerais, por medio de una estrategia analítica que involucra tres pasos diferentes. A través de la encuesta realizada con 729 participantes de estas Conferencias, se analiza (1) quienes son los participantes de estas Conferencias, (2) el impacto del cambio de escala en el perfil socioeconómico y político de estos participantes y (3) las reglas referentes al reclutamiento (quién puede participar) y a la elección de los delegados-representantes en estas innovaciones. El artículo constata que, aunque las Conferencias de Políticas Públicas tienen como objetivo incluir nacionalmente voces nuevas en el proceso de discusión y decisión de las políticas públicas a las que están vinculadas, este proceso ocurre mayoritariamente en las etapas locales, pero no en sus etapas superiores. El artículo sugiere finalmente, que cambios en las reglas de selección de las conferencias analizadas pueden contribuir a cambiar este escenario. Grâce à l'enquête menée auprès de 729 participants à ces conférences, nous analyserons (1) qui sont les participants de ces conférences, (2) la mise à l'échelle de l'impact sur le profil socio-économique et politique de ces participants et (3) les règles relatives au recrutement (qui peut participer) et à l'élection des représentants-délégués dans ces innovations. L'article démontre que, bien que les Conférences de politiques publiques visent à inclure de nouvelles voix à l'échelle nationale au processus de discussion et de décision des politiques publiques auxquelles elles sont liées, ce processus se déroule principalement sur les étapes locales, mais pas dans les étapes supérieures. L'article suggère aussi que des changements dans les règles de sélection des conférences analysées peuvent contribuer à changer ce contexte.

This investigation was done to understand how to support teachers to adopt innovative inquiry based science practices at elementary education. Here we present the results of two inquiry-based activities that were done in three elementary schools, involving six teachers and a total of 140 students. To understand the process of implementation of each activity by the teachers and its impacts on students, a qualitative methodology was used. The teachers were actively involved in the activities, however, the process followed by them was considerably different in what concerns time allocation. Additionally, instead of joining experiments from the different areas of conceptual knowledge, some of them chose only one separate subject. As a consequence, the students’ achievements were also different in each class. In the classes where the students had more time for discussion, more adequate answers were given to the initial questions, whereas, in the classes that devoted less time to the activity some competences, like observation skills and planning experiments were not achieved. It is suggested that although the creation of new curriculum materials can facilitate the adoption of new practices by teachers, this is not sufficient. Teacher's ownership of the activities is perhaps the keystone of this entire process.

Mobilizing scientific knowledge for understanding the natural world and for critically appraise socio-scientific situations and make decisions are key competencies for todays' society. Therefore, it is essential to understand how students at the end of compulsory schooling use scientific knowledge for understanding the surrounding world. The objective of this study is to understand how students construct a scientifically oriented explanation while making sense of a phenomenon related to health. We analysed 526 answers to a question of a Portuguese national 9th grade science exam. The results reveal that most students present difficulties in explaining a phenomenon related to health supported by logical and clear reasoning, and in mobilizing scientific knowledge for connecting different scientific domains. We reaffirm the need to reconceptualize the role of health education within science education. Developing reading, writing and discussion activities related to health, which requires the use of scientific knowledge from different domains, would facilitate students' understanding and appropriation of scientific knowledge and its transference. This is a fundamental competence for promoting active and informed citizenship.

International audience; Abstract The purposes of the study were to analyse the promotion of scientific literacy through practical research activities, and to identify children's conceptions about scientists and how they do science. Elementary school children were engaged in two scientific experiments in a marine biology research laboratory. A total of 136 students answered a questionnaire about their previous habits towards science and carried out the following actions: i) a guided visit to the laboratory; ii) a brief presentation of the research theme; iii) the development of two experiments; iv) a questionnaire about the experiments and science conceptions. The research methods included observation, document analysis and content analysis of the answers to the questionnaires. Additionally, each visit was video recorded in order to design learning materials. The results revealed that most of the pupils were able to follow every stage of experimentation. However, some of them misinterpreted results and conclusions. One implication of the study is that this type of outdoor activities is extremely important to promote meaningful science learning in children, but more care should be taken in practical science activity so that children can overcome some common difficulties about scientific inquiry.

Living in an unpredictable and ever changing society demands from its’ citizens the development of complex competencies that challenges school, education and curriculum. PARSEL, a pan-European Project related to science education, emerges as a contribution to curricular development as it proposes a set of teaching-learning materials (modules) in order to make science classes more popular and relevant in the eyes of the students and as such to increase their interest with school science. The goal of this study was to understand how students evaluate those innovative modules. This paper presents data concerning 134 secondary students, collected through interviews, questionnaires and written documents. A quantitative analysis of the data collected through questionnaires was complemented by a qualitative analysis of the data collected by interviews and written documents. Results show that understanding the relationship between science and daily life, participating in practical activities based on problem solving and developing critical thinking and reasoning were the issues most valued by students.

Intencionou-se com esta pesquisa analisar e compreender a comunicação, especificamente a comunicação interna, vigente do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Goiano (IF Goiano) no contexto da mudança em sua cultura, ocorrida a partir da implantação da Lei nº 11.892, de 29 de dezembro de 2008. Além da análise em si da comunicação, buscou-se ainda identificar, por meio da comunicação instituída, a cultura presente no IF Goiano a fim de colaborar para que o IF Goiano tenha subsídios para melhor compreensão de sua comunicação. Optou-se por este tema por perceber que as mudanças que acontecem nas organizações exercem forte influência na cultura e na comunicação interna do local. Nesta investigação o IF Goiano e a comunicação emitida por ele foram vistos e analisados de maneira multidimensional, sendo o IF Goiano o objeto empírico e a comunicação o objeto teórico. Elegeu-se o estudo de caso como a metodologia de trabalho mais apropriada para compreender a comunicação do IF Goiano. A opção por este método implicou no uso de instrumentos de natureza qualitativa, o que não impediu o uso de instrumentos de natureza quantitativa. Para tanto foram adotadas as seguintes técnicas: pesquisas bibliográfica, documental e institucional ou administrativa; diário de campo; e pesquisa de campo, com a utilização de entrevistas e envio de questionários on-line. Cabe dizer que o IF Goiano foi analisado como emissor de comunicação a partir de aspectos formais, valendo-se da dimensão institucional e administrativa, comungando do pensamento sobre a complexidade de Edgar Morin, um dos autores que alicerçam este estudo. Ressalta-se que a comunicação, nesta pesquisa, foi vista como oportunidade de (re)construção do cenário, assim como a cultura do IF Goiano que está em constante processo de construção por meio da comunicação, tendo em vista que a comunicação e a sua cultura estão reciprocamente uma influenciando a outra. Purposed of this research was to analyze and understand communication, specifically internal communication in force at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Goiano (Goiano IF) in the context of change in their culture, which occurred after the implementation of Law No. 11,892, of 29 December 2008. In addition to the analysis itself communication, we sought to further identify, through the established communication, the present culture in IF Goiano to collaborate so that the IF has Goiano subsidies to better understand their communication . We chose this theme to realize that the changes that happen in organizations have a strong influence on culture and internal communication of the place. In this investigation the IF Goiás and the communication issued by him were viewed and analyzed in a multidimensional way, and the IF Goiano empirical object and the communication theoretical object. Was elected case study as the work methodology more appropriate to understand the communication IF Goiano. The choice of this approach has involved the use of instruments of a qualitative nature, which did not prevent the use of quantitative tools. To this end the following techniques were adopted: bibliographic research, documentary and institutional or administrative; diary; and field research, using interviews and sending online questionnaires. It is said that IF Goiano was analyzed as a communication transmitter from formal aspects, taking advantage of the institutional and administrative dimension, communing of thought about the complexity of Edgar Morin, one of the authors that underpin this study. It is emphasized that the communication in this research, was seen as an opportunity to (re) construction of the scenario, as well as the Goiano IF culture that is constantly building process through communication, considering that communication and its culture are mutually influencing the other. O estudo que se apresenta teve como principal finalidade identificar, caracterizar e partilhar, a nível de Instituições de Ensino Superior (lES), ações desenvolvidas nos cursos de formação de profissionais de educação, que potenciassem a promoção de competências de planificação, implementação e avaliação de práticas integradas de educação formal e não-formal em ciências (PIEC). O estudo contemplou todas as lES públicas portuguesas que ofereciam cursos de formação de professores com componente de ciências: 25 lES e 75 cursos. Como técnica de recolha de dados optou-se pelo inquérito por entrevista, dirigida aos coordenadores/diretores de curso (C/D). O retorno foi de 72%. Os dados foram analisados com recurso à técnica de análise de conteúdo através de um sistema categorial misto. Os C/D consideraram as PIEC muito importantes e afirmaram que os estudantes também lhe reconheciam importância para a sua formação, considerando contribuírem para o desenvolvimento dos seus conhecimentos, capacidades, atitudes e valores. Apesar disso, 11% dos inquiridos admite não se desenvolver PIEC em qualquer das Unidades Curriculares (UC) dos cursos dos quais são responsáveis. Em relação aos outros cursos, são identificadas as UC onde essas práticas predominam, assim como estratégias/atividades desenvolvidas. Relativamente à perceção dos C/D sobre a preparação dos estudantes para desenvolver PIEC, nas suas futuras práticas profissionais, 65% afirma ser insuficiente. Abstract: The present study had as main purpose to identify, characterize and share, at the leveI of higher education institutions (HEI), actions developed in training courses for education professionals that promote planning, implementation and evaluation of integrated practices of formal and non-formal science education (IPSE). The study included all Portuguese public HEI that offer teacher training courses with science component: 25 HEI and 75 courses. For data collection an interview survey, directed to the course coordinators / directors (C / D) was used. The response was 72%. Data were analyzed through content analysis using a mixed categorical system. The C / D considered the IPSE very important and said that students also recognized its importance to their training, considering its contribution to the development of their knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. Nevertheless, 11% of respondents admitted not to develop IPSE in any of the curricular units of the courses for which they are responsible. For the other courses, the curricular units where such practices predominate were identified, as well as the strategies / activities developed. Regarding the perception of the C / D on the preparation of students to develop IPSE in their future professional practice, 65% claimed to be insufficient.
