This study broachs the management of the investments of a Brazilian pension fund - EFPC. The theme is described in five chapters. In the first one is presented a actuarial vision of a EFPC, through a short historic about the sector and about the concepts involved especially concerning to the segments of the Brazilian financial Market. In the second, where the EFPC invests his resources and talking about the modern techniques of generation of economics scenario. In the third chapter we show the most used modeling in dimension of financial actives. The fourth shows a explanation about Modeling of Actuaries passives in pension funds. In the last one is showed a study of case including their implementation and analysis. The result of this work was definitions and implementation of a model of simplified ALM to be used in a pension fund with a defined benefit plans. A dissertação trata da gestão de investimentos das entidades fechadas de previdência complementar (EFPC) no Brasil. O tema é abordado em cinco capítulos. No primeiro, é apresentado uma visão atuarial dessas entidades, através de um breve histórico sobre o setor, e dos conceitos envolvidos no seu estudo. No segundo, a abordagem é financeira, destacando os segmentos do mercado financeiro brasileiro, onde as entidades aplicam seus recursos e discorrendo sobre as modernas técnicas de geração de cenários econômicos. No terceiro capítulo mostramos as modelagens mais utilizadas em se tratando de dimensionamento de ativos financeiros. No quarto é realizada uma explanação sobre modelagem de passivos atuariais em fundos de pensão. No último capítulo é mostrado um estudo de caso com sua implementação e análise. O resultado deste trabalho foi a definição e implementação de um modelo de ALM simplificado para ser utilizado em um Fundo de Pensão com Plano de Benefício do Tipo Benefício Definido.

We study the dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensate in the quasiperiodic kicked rotor described by a Gross-Pitaevskii equation with periodic boundary conditions. As the interactions are increased, Bogoliubov excitations appear and deplete the condensate; we characterize this instability by considering the population of the first Bogoliubov mode, and show that it does not prevent, for small enough interaction strengths, the observation of the transition. However, the predicted subdiffusive behavior is not observed in the stable region. A busca pela produtividade é um dos principais objetivos das empresas de manufatura. Nas empresas de usinagem, o tempo de preparação (setup) influencia diretamente no tempo improdutivo do processo, como é o caso da operação de pré-ajustagem de ferramentas. Atualmente, existem sistemas automáticos e semiautomáticos de pré-ajustagem que reduzem este tempo de preparação, mas a maioria das empresas utilizam o método manual, pois relacionam que esta etapa não influencia no tempo de preparação da máquina. Entretanto, pesquisas apresentam que o efeito do processo de pré-ajustagem de ferramentas realizadas manualmente, não interfere apenas no tempo de setup, mas em outros fatores do processo de fabricação que comprometem ainda mais o tempo improdutivo. Neste contexto, o trabalho visa identificar a existência de influências que a pré-ajustagem manual pode ocasionar além do tempo improdutivo. A coleta de dados foi baseada em uma pesquisa descritiva do tipo estudo de campo. Os resultados obtidos, demonstram que o uso do método manual influencia além do tempo improdutivo, no aumento do custo de produção, confiabilidade e segurança do processo.

This paper reviews the physics of quantum disorder in relation with a series of experiments using laser-cooled atoms exposed to "kicks" of a standing wave, realizing a paradigmatic model of quantum chaos, the kicked rotor. This dynamical system can be mapped onto a tight-binding Hamiltonian with pseudo-disorder, formally equivalent to the Anderson model of quantum disorder, with quantum chaos playing the role of disorder. Dessa forma, o objetivo do presente estudo foi verificar o efeito do treinamento de corrida em duas diferentes intensidades sobre a capacidade aeróbia e a produção de lactato pelo músculo sóleo isolado de ratos. Ratos Wistar (90 dias) tiveram a transição metabólica aeróbio-anaeróbia determinada pelo teste de máxima fase estável de lactato (MFEL). em seguida, os ratos foram treinados 40 minutos/dia, cinco dias/semana, na velocidade equivalente à MFEL (TT) ou 5% superior a essa (TS), por oito semanas. Como controles foram usados ratos mantidos sedentários (S). Ao final, todos os animais foram sacrificados para análise da produção de lactato pelo músculo sóleo isolado. No inicio do experimento, a maior parte dos animais obteve a MFEL na velocidade de 25m/min à concentração de 4,38 ± 0,22mmol/L sanguínea de lactato. Ao final do experimento, a maior parte dos ratos treinados na TT apresentou MFEL na velocidade de 25m/min, à concentração sanguínea de lactato 3,10 ± 0,27mmol/L. A maioria dos treinados TS teve MFEL na velocidade de 25m/min à concentração sanguínea de lactado de 3,36 ± 0,62mmol/L. Os sedentários mostraram a MFEL na velocidade de 20m/min à concentração sanguínea de lactato de 4,83 ± 0,67mmol/L. A produção de lactato (μmol/g.h) pelo músculo sóleo isolado foi menor no grupo TS (3,83 ± 0,62) do que nos demais (S 4,31 ± 0,58 e TT 4,71 ± 0,39). A partir dos resultados obtidos no presente estudo, pode-se concluir que o treinamento aeróbio evitou a deterioração do condicionamento aeróbio imposta pelo avanço da idade e que o treinamento físico na intensidade superior à MFEL reduziu a produção muscular de lactato. There are few studies that associate indicators of aerobic capacity and the substrates produced by the muscular metabolism in rats. The aim of the present study was to analyze the effects of physical training in different intensities on the aerobic capacity and lactate production by the isolated soleus muscle of Wistar rats (90 days) that had the aerobic/anaerobic metabolic transition determined by the Maximal Lactate Steady State Test (MLSS). Subsequently, the rats were trained 40 minutes/day, 5 days/week, in the speed equivalent to MLSS (MT) or 5% above it (AT), for 8 weeks. Rats maintained sedentary (S) were used as controls. At the end, all rats were sacrificed for analysis of lactate production by the isolated soleus muscle. The main results were: in the beginning of the experiment, in most of the rats the MLSS was obtained in the speed of 25m/min, to the concentration of 4.38+0.22mmol/L of blood lactate. At the end of the experiment, most of the rats trained at the MLSS intensity presented MLSS in the speed of 25m/min, to the concentration of 3.10+0.27 mmol/L of blood lactate. Most of the animals trained above-MLSS had MLSS in the speed of 25m/min, to the concentration of 3.36+0.62 mmol/L of blood lactate. Sedentary rats showed MLSS in the speed of 20m/min to the concentration of blood lactate of 4.83+0.67mmol/L. The lactate production (μmol/g.h): S 4.31+0.58, MT 4.71+0.39, AT 3.83+0.62 was lower in the ST group., It can be concluded from the results of the present study that the aerobic training prevented the deterioration of the aerobic conditioning imposed by the age advance, and that physical training above the MLSS reduced muscle lactate production. Dimension 2 is expected to be the lower critical dimension for Anderson localization in a time reversal-invariant disordered quantum system. Using an atomic quasiperiodic kicked rotor -- equivalent to a two-dimensional Anderson-like model -- we experimentally study Anderson localization in dimension 2 and we observe localized wavefunction dynamics. We also show that the localization length depends exponentially on the disorder strength and anisotropy and is in quantitative agreement with the predictions of the self-consistent theory for the 2D Anderson localization., Comment: Published : Physical Review Letters 115, 240603 (2015)

The apparent climate changes are widely debated in the scientific community and the media in general. The aim of this study is to examine how student teachers understand physics, discuss and take stance on Global Warming (GW) issues. Backed by such discussions for scientific knowledge that contributes to the understanding GW, its controversies and the imperfections that give a clearer view of science as a human construct historically and socially constructed that interacts with technology and the environment. The methodology used to check knowledge of the undergraduates on the theme was the use of problem situation, discussion based on analogies with interactive experiments with low cost material and classroom discussions on issues relating to global warming. To analyze the production of undergraduates use elements of content analysis from the establishment of a priori categories that analyzed i) the concepts used in scientific papers on GW, ii) what and how the operators of the complex were used in the productions of undergraduates and iii) how the discussions have used the themes of STSE. The results shows that students had a superficial understanding of the GW and fragmented, a vision which gave no room for the correlation between socio-environmental variables important for understanding the phenomenon. We conclude that the approach from the problem situation on a clear theme of relevance to the welfare of the student contributed to the recall of content from the natural sciences, the improvement of procedural skills and attitude building a citizen committed to building solutions. As questões ambientais se colocam como algumas das demandas mais importantes no século XXI. As evidentes mudanças climáticas são objeto de grande discussão na comunidade científica e na mídia de forma geral. O objetivo desse trabalho é analisar como licenciandos de Física compreendem, discutem e posicionam-se ante questões relativas ao Aquecimento Global (AG). Tendo como suporte para tais discussões os conhecimentos científicos que contribuem para a compreensão do AG, suas controvérsias e incompletudes que dão uma visão mais clara da ciência como construção humana histórica e socialmente construída que interage com a tecnologia e o ambiente. A metodologia utilizada para verificar os conhecimentos dos licenciandos sobre o tema proposto foi a utilização de situação-problema, discussão a partir de analogias com experimentos interativos com material de baixo custo e debates em sala de aula sobre questões referentes ao Aquecimento Global. Para analisar as produções dos licenciandos utilizamos elementos da análise de conteúdo a partir do estabelecimento de categorias a priori que analisaram i) os conceitos científicos utilizados nas produções sobre (AG), ii) quais e como os operadores da complexidade foram utilizados nas produções dos licenciandos e iii) como as discussões utilizaram temas relacionados a CTSA.Os resultados aponta que os licenciandos tinham uma compreensão superficial e fragmentada do AG, visão esta que não dava margem para a correlação entre as variáveis sócioambientais importantes para compreensão do fenômeno. Concluímos que a abordagem a partir de situação-problema sobre uma temática de relevância clara para o bem estar do estudante contribuiu para a evocação de conteúdos de ciências da natureza, aprimoramento de habilidades procedimentais e construção de uma atitude cidadã comprometida com a construção de soluções.

Foram utilizados 70 ratos da linhagem Wistar com 60 dias, adaptados individualmente ao meio líquido por duas semanas. Os animais foram divididos em grupos: controle (GC, n = 40) e periodizado (GP, n = 30); a intensidade do treinamento foi equivalente ao peso corporal do animal (% do PC). O treinamento (T) para o GP foi dividido em períodos preparatório básico (PPB, seis semanas), específico (PPE, 4,5 semanas) e polimento (PP, 1,5 semana), tendo como estímulos intensidades leve (4% do PC), moderada (5% do PC), pesada (6% do PC) e intensa (13% do PC). Vinte e quatro horas após a adaptação, 10 ratos do GC foram sacrificados e avaliados pelo teste de lactato mínimo para mensuração dos valores de linha de base de GM, GH, CK, LAn e Tlim. Os dez animais restantes do GC e GP foram sacrificados ao final de cada período de T. O treinamento periodizado aumentou a concentração de glicogênio muscular ao final do período de polimento. O glicogênio hepático não se alterou no GC, porém no GP houve redução significativa no início do período específico com elevação no período de polimento. A concentração de CK não se modificou ao final dos PPB, PPE e PP. O LAn reduziu ao longo do período experimental no GC, mas ao final do PP para o GP, o LAn atingiu os mesmos valores do início do treinamento. O Tlim aumentou no PP. Desse modo, pode-se concluir que o treinamento periodizado provocou supercompensação energética ao final da periodização. A capacidade anaeróbia aumentou no PP bem como o LAn, que obteve maiores valores em relação ao GC nesse período. The objective of this study was to verify the swimming training periodization responses on aerobic and anaerobic performance, glycogen concentration in muscle (M) and liver (L), and creatine kinase (CK) in rats. Seventy male Wistar rats were randomly separated in two groups: Control Group (CG n = 30) and Training Periodization Group (TPG n = 30). All experiments were preceded by 2 weeks of individual adaptation to the water. The TPG was carried out during a period of 12 weeks (w) with frequency of 6 days/w. The training period was subdivided in three specialized series blocks: Preparation (6 w), Specific (4.5 w) and Taper (1.5 w). The Lactate Minimun Test (LACm) was adapted to determine the aerobic capacity. Anaerobic performance was evaluated by maximal exhaustion time (Tlim) verified during hyperlactatemia induction phase in the LACm protocol. As concentrações dos hormônios adrenocorticotrófico (ACTH) e corticosterona, bem como as concentrações de ácido ascórbico e colesterol das glândulas adrenais são importantes biomarcadores de estresse. OBJETIVO: Analisar a sensibilidade de diferentes biomarcadores de estresse em ratos durante exercício agudo de natação em diferentes intensidades. MÉTODO: Ratos (18) adaptados à natação foram submetidos a três testes de 25 minutos suportando cargas 5,0; 5,5 e 6,0% do peso corporal (PC), para obtenção da máxima fase estável de lactato (MFEL). em seguida, os animais foram divididos em dois grupos: M (n = 9), sacrificado após 25 minutos de exercício na intensidade de MFEL e S (n = 9), sacrificado após exercício exaustivo, em intensidade 25% superior a MFEL. Para comparações, um grupo controle C (n = 10) foi sacrificado em repouso. RESULTADOS: As concentrações séricas de ACTH e corticosterona foram superiores após exercício em ambas as intensidades comparadas com o grupo controle (P < 0,05). As concentrações de ACTH e corticosterona do grupo S foram, ainda, maiores do que as do grupo M (P < 0,05). As concentrações de colesterol e ácido ascórbico na adrenal dos grupos exercitados (M e S) foram inferiores às do grupo controle (P < 0,05). Não houve diferença das concentrações de ácido ascórbico e colesterol da adrenal quando comparadas as duas intensidades de exercício (M e S) (P < 0,05). CONCLUSÃO: Todos os biomarcadores do eixo HHA apontaram alterações no nível de estresse de ratos submetidos a exercício agudo de natação; as concentrações séricas de ACTH e corticosterona mostraram-se mais sensíveis a pequenas alterações na intensidade do exercício. INTRODUCTION: The level of stress during acute/chronic exercise is important, since higher levels of stress may impair animal welfare. The adrenocorticotrophic (ACTH) and corticosterone hormone concentrations, as well as cholesterol and ascorbic acid concentrations in adrenal gland, are considered an important stress biomarker. PURPOSE: To analyze the sensitivity of the different biomarkers during acute swimming exercise in different intensities performed by rats. METHODS: Male Wistar adult rats (n = 18) previously adapted to swimming were submitted to three 25 min. swimming tests with loads of 5.0; 5.5 and 6.0% of their body weight (BW), for maximum lactate steady state (MLSS) determination. After MLSS attainment, the animals were divided into two groups: M (n = 9) sacrificed shortly after a 25 min. session of exercise at the MLSS intensity or S (n = 9) sacrificed after exhaustive exercise at intensity 25% above MLSS. For comparison purposes, a control group C (n = 10) was sacrificed in rest. RESULTS: Serum ACTH and corticosterone concentrations were higher after exercise for the two groups (M and S) when compared with control group C (P < 0.05). The group S presented higher concentrations for both hormones in relation to the group M (P < 0.05). The concentrations of the cholesterol and ascorbic acid in adrenal were lower after exercise for the two groups (M and S) when compared with control group C (P < 0.05). No significant differences in adrenal ascorbic acid and cholesterol levels were observed when the two exercise intensities (M and S) were compared (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: All biomarkers of HPA activity pointed alterations in the stress level of the rats submitted to acute swimming exercise. ACTH and corticosterone serum concentrations showed to be more sensitive to small alterations in the effort intensity. No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2006-09-01 The maximal lactate steady state (MLSS) is considered the gold standard method for determination of aerobic/anaerobic metabolic transition during continuous exercise, but the blood lactate response at this intensity is ergometer-dependent in human beings. An important tool for exercise physiology and correlated fields is the use of animal models. However, investigation on evaluation protocols in rats is scarce. The aim of the present study was to verify if the MLSS is ergometer-dependent for the evaluation of the aerobic conditioning of rats. Therefore, 40 adult male Wistar rats were evaluated in two different exercise types: swimming and treadmill running. In both, the MLSS was obtained with 4 continuous 25 minutes tests, at different intensities, performed at 48 hours intervals. In all tests, blood samples were collected from a cut at the tail tip every 5 minutes for blood lactate analysis. The swimming tests occurred in a deep cylindrical tank, with water temperature at 31 ± 1°C. The loads used in the tests were 4.5; 5.0; 5.5 and 6.0% of the body weight tied to the animal's back. For MLSS determination in running exercise, there was selection of running rats and velocities used in the tests were 15, 20, 25, 30 m.min-1. The MLSS was interpreted as an increase not exceeding 1.0 mM of blood lactate, from the 10th to the 25 th minute of exercise. The MLSS in swimming exercise occurred at 5.0% of body weight (bw), with blood lactate at 5.20 ± 0.22 mM. The running rats presented MLSS at the 20 m.min-1 velocity, with blood lactate of 3.87 ± 0.33 mM. The results indicated that the MLSS is ergometer-dependent in experimental models using animals, as it is in human beings.
