We have studied the nuclear region of the previously detected dual AGN system in the galaxy pair IRAS 05589+2828 and 2MASX J06021107+2828382 through new optical spectroscopy observations, along with radio and X-ray archival data. Our multiwavelength data strongly suggest that the Sy1 \iras\, (z=0.0330$\pm$0.0002) conforms to a dual AGN system with the Sy2 \twomas\, (z=0.0334$\pm$0.0001) with a projected separation obtained from the radio data of 20.08\arcsec\, ($\sim$13.3\,kpc). Analysis of the optical spectra reveals a faint narrow extended emission from H$\alpha$ and [OIII] amidst the two AGN, supporting evidence for an ongoing merger. \iras\, is a double component narrow emission line AGN, with complex broad Balmer emission line profiles that clearly show a strong red-peaklet with a velocity shift of $\sim$3500\,km\,s$^{-1}$. The black hole mass estimates of \iras\, and \twomas\, are log\,M$\rm_{BH}$\,=\,8.59\,$\pm$\,0.14 (M$_\odot$) and log\,M$\rm_{BH}$\,=\,8.21$\pm$0.2 (M$_\odot$), respectively. In the X-ray bands, \iras\, is compatible with a Type 1 object, showing both spectral and flux variability. \chandra\, data of 2MASX\,J06021107+2828382 allowed us to measure a high hardness ratio in this source, providing evidence for a Type 2 AGN. The 22 GHz image obtained with the {\it Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array} has revealed that both AGN are compact radio objects with spectral indices -0.26$\pm$0.03 and -0.70$\pm$0.11, confirming for the first time its dual AGN nature in the radio bands., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS. 20 pages, 15 figures

The objective of the research was to identify the fungi in sotol seeds at different conditions of temperature and relative humidity. Seeds were collected at Buñuelos, municipality, and taken to the Laboratory of the Center for Training and Development in Seed Technology (CCDTS) at Universidad Autonoma Agraria Antonio Narro. The seed was stored for a period of 90 days, whit conditions of 60, 75, 80 and 85% of relative humidity kept at 5, 15 and 25 °C. Fungi identifying by morphological criteria. A completely randomized experiment using R software, with factorial arrangement whit two replications. Pathogens identified were: Aspergillus glaucus, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus candidus, Cladosporiun sp., Alternaria sp. and Aspergillus chraceus, the results showed that the higher the humidity, temperature and storage time, the incidence of fungi tends to be higher. Fungi with a higher presence in sotol seeds were: Aspergillus glaucus and Penicillium sp. Safe storage environments for sotol seeds reported in this work are 5 °C and a relative humidity of 60-75%. Sotol seeds tolerates conditions of 15 °C and a relative humidity up to 75%.

El proceso de acreditación permite a una institución educativa reconocer la calidad de sus programas educativos, evaluando los programas desde varios niveles y perspectivas. Para una acreditación internacional, ANECA establece principios de evaluación en una Guía que comprende 9 Dimensiones las cueles permiten realizar la autoevaluación de manera cíclica y tiene como objetivo comprobar: 1) si el Programa Educativo se está llevando a cabo de acuerdo con los objetivos establecidos en su proyecto inicial y 2) si sus resultados son adecuados y contribuyen a la formación de los estudiantes y al logro de los objetivos previstos. El programa educativo de la Lic. en Tecnologías Computacionales de la Universidad Veracruzana, llevó a cabo en 2018, el proceso de autoevaluación para su acreditación para la obtención del Sello de Calidad Internacional otorgado por ANECA. En este trabajo presentamos nuestro caso de éxito en el proceso de acreditación internacional. The accreditation process allows an educational institution to recognize the quality of its educational programs, evaluating the programs from various levels and perspectives. For an international accreditation, ANECA establishes principles of evaluation in a Guide that includes 9 Dimensions, which allow the self-evaluation to be carried out in a cyclical manner and aims to verify: 1) if the Educational Program is being carried out in accordance with the objectives established in its initial project and 2) if its results are adequate and contribute to the training of students and the achievement of the planned objectives. The educational program of Bachelor of Computer Technologies of the Universidad Veracruzana, conducted in 2018, the selfevaluation process for accreditation for obtaining International Quality Seal awarded by ANECA. In this paper we present our case of success in the international accreditation process.

To identify scientific evidence on the use and results of information and communication technologies for the improvement of neonatal health in general or specific health problems or interventions, and to describe the type of intervention and its results.A systematic review of the available evidence was performed. The search was carried out in peer-reviewed journals between January 1, 2008 and April 30, 2018, in English and Spanish. The searched key terms were (health informatics OR telemedicine OR mHealth) AND (newborn OR newborn care OR neonatal care).From a total of 305 articles initially identified, 10 articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The main domains of eHealth identified as applied to neonatal health were telemedicine (3 studies), eLearning (1 study) and mHealth (7 studies). Target population were health care providers or parents. The studies aimed at diagnosis, provision of health care and training, promoting adherence to interventions in parents or improving quality of care.The use of eHealth in general and specifically focused on neonatal health shows important possibilities for development and expansion, given the advances and present needs, and should be considered a key tool for the reduction of inequalities.Identificar la evidencia científica sobre el uso y los resultados de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación para mejorar la salud neonatal en general o problemas de salud o intervenciones específicos, y describir el tipo de intervención y sus resultados.Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la evidencia disponible. La búsqueda se llevó a cabo en revistas revisadas por pares entre el 1 de enero de 2008 y el 30 de abril de 2018, en español e inglés. Los términos clave de la búsqueda fueron (health informatics OR telemedicine OR mHealth) AND (newborn OR newborn care OR neonatal care).De un total de 305 artículos identificados inicialmente, 10 artículos cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Los principales dominios de la eSalud aplicados a la salud neonatal fueron la telemedicina (3 estudios), el aprendizaje electrónico (1 estudio) y la salud móvil (7 estudios). La población destinataria consistió en los proveedores de atención de la salud o los padres. Los estudios tenían por objeto el diagnóstico, la prestación de atención sanitaria y la capacitación, la promoción del cumplimiento de las intervenciones en los padres o la mejora de la calidad de la atención.El uso de la eSalud en general, y específicamente en la salud neonatal, muestra importantes posibilidades de desarrollo y expansión, dados los avances y las necesidades actuales, y debería considerarse un instrumento clave para la reducción de las desigualdades.

The emission of the so-called extreme BL Lacs poses challenges to the particle acceleration models. The hardness of their spectrum, $\lesssim 2$, in the high-energy band demands unusual parameters using the standard one-zone synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) model with a deficient magnetized plasma. Some authors use either two-zone or hadronic/lepto-hadronic models to relax these atypical values. In this work, we present a lepto-hadronic two-zone model to explain the multi-wavelength observations of the six best-known \textit{extreme} BL Lacs. The very-high-energy gamma-ray observations are described by the photo-hadronic processes in a blob close to the AGN core and by SSC and external inverse Compton-processes in an outer blob. The photo-hadronic interactions occur when accelerated protons in the inner blob interact with annihilation line photons from a sub-relativistic pair plasma. The X-ray observations are described by synchrotron radiation from the outer blob. The parameter values found from the description of the spectral energy distribution for each object with our phenomenological model are similar to each other, and lie in the typical range reported in BL Lacs., Accepted in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society

Background: The outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 abruptly disseminated in early 2020, overcoming the capacity of health systems to respond the pandemic. It was not until the vaccines were launched worldwide that an increase in survival was observed. The objectives of this study were to analyse the characteristics of survivors and their relationship with comorbidities. We had access to a database containing information on 16,747 hospitalized patients from Mexico, all infected with SARS-CoV-2, as part of a regular follow-up. The descriptive analysis looked for clusters of either success or failure. We categorized the samples into no comorbidities, or one and up to five coexisting with the infection. We performed a logistic regression test to ascertain what factors were more influential in survival. The main variable of interest was survival associated with multimorbidity factors. The database hosted information on hospitalized patients from Mexico between March 2020 through to April 2021. Categories 2 and 3 had the largest number of patients. Survival rates were higher in categories 0 (64.8%), 1 (57.5%) and 2 (51.6%). In total, 1741 (10.5%) patients were allocated to an ICU unit. Mechanical ventilators were used on 1415 patients, corresponding to 8.76%. Survival was recorded in 9575 patients, accounting for 57.2% of the sample population. Patients without comorbidities, younger people and women were more likely to survive.

This study reports an analysis of 20 T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging scans from tufted capuchin monkeys (5 male, 15 female). We carried out a data-driven, whole-brain volumetric analysis on regional gray matter anatomy using voxel-based morphometry. This revealed that males showed statistically significant expansion of a region of the hypothalamus, while females showed significant expansion in a distributed set of regions, including the cerebellum, early visual cortex, and higher-order visual regions spanning occipital and temporal cortex. In order to elucidate the network connectivity of these regions, we employed probabilistic tractography on diffusion tensor imaging data. This showed that the female-enlarged regions connect with distributed association networks across the brain. Notably, this contrasts with rodent studies, where sex differences are focused in deep, ancestral limbic regions involved in the control of reproductive behavior. Additionally, in our data set, for several regions, male and female volumetric measures were completely nonoverlapping. This contrasts with human studies, where sex differences in cortical regions have been reported but are characterized by overlapping rather than divergent male and female values. We suggest that these results can be understood in the context of the different lifetime experiences of males and females, which may produce increased experience-dependent cortical plasticity in capuchins compared to rodents, and in humans compared to capuchins.

Maternal hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity may prenatally program sex-specific stress response pathways. We investigated associations between maternal cortisol during pregnancy and infant parasympathetic responsivity to stress among 204 mother-infant pairs. Cortisol indices included 3(rd) trimester hair cortisol, as well as diurnal slope and area under the curve, derived from saliva samples collected during pregnancy. Mother-infant dyads participated in the Repeated Still-Face Paradigm (SFP-R) at age 6 months. We calculated respiration-adjusted respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA(c)), an indicator of parasympathetic activation, from infant respiration and cardiac activity measured during the SFP-R. We used multivariable linear mixed models to examine each cortisol index in relation to infant RSA(c) and investigated sex differences using cross-product terms. Diurnal cortisol indices were not associated with RSA(c). There was no association between hair cortisol and baseline RSA(c). However, hair cortisol was associated with sex-specific changes in RSA(c) over the SFP-R such that, among girls, parasympathetic withdrawal was reduced with increasing prenatal exposure to cortisol. Consistently higher levels of prenatal cortisol exposure may lead to dampened parasympathetic responsivity to stress during infancy, particularly among girls. Maternal hair cortisol may be particularly valuable for studying the effects of prenatal cortisol exposure on infant autonomic reactivity.

The Heisenberg uncertainty principle, which underlies many quantum key features, is under close scrutiny regarding its applicability to new scenarios. Using both the Bell-Kochen-Specker theorem establishing that observables do not have predetermined values before measurements and the measurement postulate of quantum mechanics, we propose that in order to describe the disturbance produced by the measurement process, it is convenient to define disturbance by the changes produced on quantum states. Hence, we propose to quantify disturbance in terms of the square root of the Jensen-Shannon entropy distance between the probability distributions before and after the measurement process. Additionally, disturbance and statistical distinguishability of states are fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics that have thus far been unrelated; however, we show that they are intermingled thereupon we enquire into whether the statistical distinguishability of states, caused by statistical fluctuations in the measurement outcomes, is responsible for the disturbance’s magnitude.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to validate a Spanish version of patient-rated wrist evaluation (PRWE) and evaluate its psychometric attributes in a population of patients with distal radius fracture. Material and Methods A translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the PRWE to Spanish (PRWE-S) was performed according to standardized guidelines. A total of 50 patients with a distal radius fracture were included during the different steps of the study. The reliability of the new instrument was assessed in terms of construct validity with the Quick DASH (Disability of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand). Internal consistency and test–retest stability were also examined. Results The Spearman's correlation test for analysis of the criterion validity (0.75) indicates a strong positive correlation between the PRWE-S and the Quick DASH. The internal consistency according to Cronbach's α was 0.96, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was moderate (0.46). Conclusion A Spanish version of the PRWE indicated good validity and reliability in distal radius fracture patients. This valuable tool can be used in Spanish-speaking countries to evaluate various aspects as pain and function in patients with injuries of the wrist.

Quantum nonlocality and quantum steering are fundamental correlations of quantum systems which can not be created using classical resources only. Nonlocality describes the ability to influence the possible results of measurements carried out in distant systems, in quantum steering Alice remotely steers Bob's state. Research in nonlocality and steering possess a fundamental interest for the development of quantum information and in many applications requiring nonlocal resources like quantum key distribution. On the other hand, the Stern-Gerlach experiment holds an important place in the history, development and teaching of quantum mechanics and quantum information. In particular, the thought experiment of consecutive Stern-Gerlach Experiments is commonly used to exemplify the concept of non-commutativity between quantum operators. However, to the best of our knowledge, the consecutive Stern-Gerlach Experiments have not been treated in a fully quantum manner yet, and it is a widely accepted idea that atoms crossing consecutive Stern-Gerlach Experiments follow classical paths. Here we demonstrate that two consecutive Stern-Gerach Experiment generate nonlocality and steering, these nonlocal effects strongly modify our usual understanding of this experiment. Also, we discuss the implications of this result and its relation with the entanglement. Context The Unified Model of Information Systems Continuance (UMISC) is a metamodel for the evaluation of clinical information systems (CISs) that integrates constructs from five models that have previously been published in the literature. UMISC was developed at the Georges Pompidou University Hospital (HEGP) in Paris and was partially validated at the Saint Joseph Hospital Group (HPSJ), another acute care institution using the same CIS as HEGP. Objective The aim of this replication study was twofold: (1) to perform an external validation of UMISC in two different hospitals and country contexts: the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires (HIBA) in Argentina and the Hospital Sirio Libanes in Sao Paulo, Brazil (HSL); (2) to compare, using the same evaluation model, the determinants of satisfaction, use, and continuance intention observed at HIBA and HSL with those previously observed at HEGP and HPSJ. Methods The UMISC evaluation questionnaires were translated from their original languages (English and French) to Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish following the translation/back-translation method. These questionnaires were then applied at each target site. The 21 UMISC-associated hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results A total of 3020 users, 1079 at HIBA and 1941 at the HSL, were included in the analysis. The respondents included 1406 medical staff and 1001 nursing staff. The average profession-adjusted use, overall satisfaction and continuance intention were significantly higher at HIBA than at HSL in the medical and nursing groups. In SEM analysis, UMISC explained 23% and 11% of the CIS use dimension, 72% and 85% of health professionals’ satisfaction, and 41% and 60% of continuance intention at HIBA and HSL, respectively. Twenty of the 21 UMISC-related hypotheses were validated in at least one of the four evaluation sites, and 16 were validated in two or more sites. Conclusion The UMISC evaluation metamodel appears to be a robust comparison and explanatory model of satisfaction, use and continuance intention for CISs in late post adoption situations.

Background and objectives The multiple chest x-ray datasets released in the last years have ground-truth labels intended for different computer vision tasks, suggesting that performance in automated chest x-ray interpretation might improve by using a method that can exploit diverse types of annotations. This work presents a Deep Learning method based on the late fusion of different convolutional architectures, that allows training with heterogeneous data with a simple implementation, and evaluates its performance on independent test data. We focused on obtaining a clinically useful tool that could be successfully integrated into a hospital workflow. Materials and methods Based on expert opinion, we selected four target chest x-ray findings, namely lung opacities, fractures, pneumothorax and pleural effusion. For each finding we defined the most suitable type of ground-truth label, and built four training datasets combining images from public chest x-ray datasets and our institutional archive. We trained four different Deep Learning architectures and combined their outputs with a late fusion strategy, obtaining a unified tool. The performance was measured on two test datasets: an external openly-available dataset, and a retrospective institutional dataset, to estimate performance on the local population. Results The external and local test sets had 4376 and 1064 images, respectively, for which the model showed an area under the Receiver Operating Characteristics curve of 0.75 (95%CI: 0.74–0.76) and 0.87 (95%CI: 0.86–0.89) in the detection of abnormal chest x-rays. For the local population, a sensitivity of 86% (95%CI: 84–90), and a specificity of 88% (95%CI: 86–90) were obtained, with no significant differences between demographic subgroups. We present examples of heatmaps to show the accomplished level of interpretability, examining true and false positives. Conclusion This study presents a new approach for exploiting heterogeneous labels from different chest x-ray datasets, by choosing Deep Learning architectures according to the radiological characteristics of each pathological finding. We estimated the tool's performance on the local population, obtaining results comparable to state-of-the-art metrics. We believe this approach is closer to the actual reading process of chest x-rays by professionals, and therefore more likely to be successful in a real clinical setting.

Purpose The translation of deep learning (DL) techniques from research to effective clinical implementations has to overcome an important gap between the DL-development setting and the daily clinical practice. The purpose of this work was to carry out a proof-of-concept study of a DL tool for chest x-rays (CXR) at the emergency department (ED) of our health institution, to measure changes in the performance compared to the retrospective test reported in a prior study; and to compare the model with ED physicians, as they are the intended users of this system. Materials and methods We collected all CXR studies performed during April 2020 in the ED of a 650-bed university hospital, obtaining 508 CXRs from 499 patients. No manual selection or enrichment method were applied. We built a reference standard based on the diagnosis of three senior radiologists and used it to compare the DL model with ED physicians. Results The model showed a sensitivity of 0.853 and specificity of 0.715 for abnormal findings detection, and an area under the ROC curve of 0.784 (95% CI: 0.746–0.822), which is significantly lower than the value of the prior retrospective test. However, it is significantly higher than the 0.598 (95% CI: 0.54–0.62) value obtained by ED physicians (p Conclusion The DL model showed lower evaluation metrics on real-world emergency department images than what was previously observed in digital tests. These findings caution against overconfident in-silico performance estimates and highlight the importance of proof-of-concept studies of AI-based diagnostic tools to better approach real clinical settings. Despite its suboptimal performance, the algorithm showed significantly better performance than Emergency Department physicians for the detection of abnormal findings, which suggests there is room for conducive human-AI collaboration in real-world clinical scenarios.

This study describes the geology, geochemistry, and LA-ICP-MS U–Pb geochronology of igneous rocks that crop out in the Sauce Chico Inlier (SCI) and constitute the Neoproterozoic basement of the Ventania System, Argentina. Magmatism registered in the SCI has developed in two phases. The first phase, of Tonian age, is represented by rift-related calc-alkaline and alkaline granites with ages of 783.8 ± 3.7 Ma (εNd(t)=−7.20) and 776.5 ± 4.7 Ma (εNd(t) = +1.65), respectively. This phase would be related to the break-up of the Rodinia supercontinent and subsequent opening of the Adamastor Ocean. In the Dom Feliciano Belt of southern Brazil and eastern Uruguay, the Tonian magmatism is represented in the Cerro Olivo Complex of the Punta del Este Terrane and in basement inliers of the Pelotas Batholith. The second phase, of Ediacaran age, started with the intrusion of syn-orogenic calc-alkaline granites (620.8 ± 5.8 Ma and 620.3 ± 2.5 Ma; εNd(t)=−9.94/−9.18) and continued with the extrusion of post-orogenic alkaline (577.3 ± 3.9 Ma; εNd(t)=−6.29) and calc-alkaline (543.6 ± 4.0 Ma; εNd(t)=−3.38) acid volcanic rocks. This phase would be related to the closure of the Adamastor Ocean, generation of a magmatic arc along the western margin of the Kalahari Craton, and collision between this and the Río de la Plata Craton. A post-collisional magmatism would have developed due to orogenic collapse (< 580 Ma). With the exception of the Tonian alkaline granite, in the remaining SCI igneous rocks, the juvenile component becomes more important as the crystallization age decreases. The available Nd model ages are between 1.80 and 1.14 Ga and suggest a mixing of older crust with juvenile material. The tectonic evolution of the Ventania System basement is consistent with that observed in the Dom Feliciano Belt and its African counterparts. We present here the first evidence of Tonian magmatism in the Ventania System basement. The results presented here also confirm those obtained previously by other authors. Zircon cores from the SCI igneous rocks have U–Pb inherited ages between ca. 1200 and 900 Ma that could be indicative of a lineage with the Gariep Belt and its Namaqua basement in southwestern Africa

Abnormal decrease in the ozonesonde sensor signal occurred during air-pollution study campaigns in November 2011 and March 2012 in Mexico City. Sharp drops around 5 km a.s.l. and above were observed in November 2011, and a broad deficit in the convective boundary layer in March 2012. Various circumstantial evidence indicates that the decrease was due to interference of SO2 gas to Electrochemical Concentration Cell (ECC) ozone sensors. The sharp drops in November 2011 are considered to be caused by the SO2 plume from the Popocatépetl volcano to the south-east of Mexico City. Response experiments of the ECC sensor to representative atmospheric trace gases showed that only SO2 could generate the observed abrupt drops. The vertical structure of the plume reproduced by a Lagrangian particle diffusion simulation also supported this assumption. The near-ground deficit in March 2012 is considered to be generated by the SO2 plume from the Tula industrial complex to the north-west of Mexico City. Sporadic large SO2 emission is known to occur from this region, and before and at the ozonesonde launching time, large intermittent peaks of SO2 concentration were recorded at the ground-level monitoring stations. The difference between the O3 concentration obtained by ozonesonde and that by UV-based O3 monitor was consistent with the SO2 concentration measured by a UV-based monitor on the ground. The plume vertical profiles estimated by the Lagrangian particle diffusion simulation agreed fairly well with the observed profile. Statistical analysis of the wind field in Mexico City revealed that the Popocatépetl effect is most likely to occur from June to October, and the Tula effect all the year.

Objectives To verify whether a citizens9 jury study is feasible to the Andalusian population and to know if women, when better informed, are able to answer the research question of whether the Andalusian Public Health System must continue offering screening mammography to women aged 50–69. The reasons for the pertinent decision and recommendations to the political authorities will be stated. Design Qualitative research study with the methodology of citizens9 jury. Setting Breast cancer screening programme in Andalusia (Spain). Participants Thirteen women aged 50–69 with secondary school or higher education accepted to participate as a jury. Two epidemiologists were the expert witnesses. The main researcher was the neutral moderator. Interventions Jury met on Monday, 15 February 2016. The moderator indicated to the jury that it had to assess the screening programme’s key benefits and main harm. On Tuesday, 16 February, the expert witnesses positioned for and against the programme. On Thursday, 18 February, the jury deliberated, reached final conclusions, submitted its vote and stated its recommendations to politicians. The deliberation session was transcribed and analysed with the support of ATLAS.ti.5.2 software. Primary and secondary outcome measures Feasibility in the Andalusian population, women’s vote and opinion, reasons for votes and recommendations to political authorities. Results Eleven participants voted yes and two voted no. There are three reasons to vote ‘yes’: health, the test nature, and individual freedom. Some women invoke the lack of efficacy and the cost to justify their negative vote, at least in universal terms. On completion, they made suggestions to be submitted to the pertinent authorities for the improvement of information, psychology services and research. Conclusions The deliberative strategy is feasible and causes a favourable positioning regarding screening mammography, although information changes the opinion of some women, who desire informed decision making and to keep or increase medicalisation in their lives.

Background The universalisation of mammographic screening has caused an increase in ultralow risk breast cancer diagnosis. Identifying subgroups with no events related to mortality due to breast cancer in the long term (overdiagnosis) may be useful so as not to subject them to unnecessary treatment (overtreatment). Methods New ultralow risk criteria are described by means of mammographic screening diagnosis, tumour palpability, tumour phenotype, and absence of axillary node involvement. We identified patients with no events related to breast cancer mortality through a descriptive, observational, and retrospective study. Results Among the 746 patients with stage I and IIA breast cancer attended between 1/1/2001 and 31/12/2014, 110 (14.75%) came from mammographic screening with non-palpable tumours. The median age was 58 years old (38-71). 88 (80%) were hormone receptor positive (HR+), 10 (9.10%) were triple negatives, and 11 (10%) were HER-2. The median follow-up was 10 years (3.5-17). Only 3 patients developed metastasis, there were no loco-regional recurrence, 7 showed second primary tumours, and there were 4 deaths, 2 due to breast cancer and 2 due to other reasons. Overall survival (OS) was 92.80%, disease-free survival (DFS) was 85.20%, and the distant metastasis-free interval (DMFI) was 95.60%. In 88 patients with HR+ tumours, OS was 95.7%, DFS was 86.50%, and DMFI was 96.30%. In 34 (38.60%) histological grade 1 HR+ tumours (probably Luminal A), and in 54 (61.40%) histological grade 2-3 HR+ tumours (probably Luminal B), OS was 93.80% and 96.90% (p = 0.669), DFS was 81.90% and 89.30% (p = 0.400), and DMFI was 100% and 94.40% (p = 0.307). In triple negatives, OS was 85.70%, DFS 77.10%, and DMFI was 100%. In subgroup HER-2, there were no events. In tumours smaller and larger than 1 cm, OS was 100% and 90.20% (p = 0.168), DFS was 93.20% and 84.10% (p = 0.742), and DMFI was 100% and 95.50% (p = 0.296). Conclusions Patients with non-palpable tumours detected in mammographic screening have an ultralow risk. The absence of events related to breast cancer mortality makes them candidates for overdiagnosis. De-escalation of treatment should be considered. Hospitals have traditionally been the place where the follow-up of breast cancer patients occurs in Spain.To describe the evolution of long-term survivors of breast cancer according to type of follow-up received (in primary or specialist/hospital care), measuring impact of care type on health, cost, health-related quality of life (HRQL) and satisfaction results.Retrospective study of cohorts with disease-free patients followed up for at least 5 years in Oncology. Using personal questionnaires, the type and cost of the follow-up, events, HRQL and satisfaction were analysed.Ninety-eight women were surveyed, 60 in primary and 38 in specialist care. There were no differences between groups in diagnosis of metastasis or new primary tumours. The number of annual visits per patient was 0.98 (0.48) in primary and 1.11 (0.38) in specialist care (P = 0.19). In primary, 44.6% were programmed and 55.4% on demand; in specialist, 94.6% were programmed and 5.4% on demand (P = 0.0001). The costs of follow-up in primary care were lower--€112.86 (77.54) versus €184.61 (85.87) per patient and year (P = 0.0001). No differences were reported in HRQL. Preference for specialist care was expressed by 80%, versus 10% for primary, with 10% indifferent. Patients showed greater satisfaction with specialist care in all questionnaire dimensions.Compliance with follow-up protocol was high in both groups. In specialist care nearly all the visits were programmed and in primary almost half were on demand. In our locality, primary is more cost-effective than specialist care, but patients express greater satisfaction with specialist follow-up and hence prefer it.

Se realizó un muestreo en la primavera de 2007, donde se registraron los siguientes parámetros del agua, temperatura, profundidad, transparencia, turbidez, oxígeno disuelto, conductividad, pH, dureza, y alcalinidad, también se realizó la captura de peces utilizando un chinchorro charalero. El análisis del contenido estomacal se determinó con el método numérico y volumétrico. Los peces capturados pertenecen a tres especies: Menidia jordani, la cual se considera una especie zooplanctófaga generalista; Cyprinus carpio, es omnívoro muy generalista y Carassius auratus que es un pez herbívoro generalista."
