Creatine, elderly women, Functional Capacity ,Creatina, Idosas, Capacidade Funcional - Abstract
Foram realizados medidas antropométricas, dosagem de creatinina e o testeTime Up and Go (TUG).

Made available in DSpace on 2022-04-28T19:51:26Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 This study aimed to evaluate the effect of vitamin D deficiency on sleep quality, depression, anxiety, and physiological stress in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We screened for COPD patients with normal (NorVD) (n=24) and insufficient (InsVD) (n=7) vitamin D levels. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), the Beck anxiety inventory (BAI), the Beck depression inventory (BDI) and the Baevsky’s stress index were used for the sleep and psychometric evaluation. The evaluation of sleep quality by PSQI showed that NorVD individuals had higher duration and quality of sleep when compared with the InsVD group. Additionally, the group InsVD presented higher risk of developing sleep quality (OR=6.20; 95% CI=1.334, 29.013; p=0.009). BDI was higher in the InsVD, and this group had a higher risk of developing moderate and severe depression (OR=3.37; 95% CI=0.895, 12.722; p=0.03). The stress index indicated higher values in the InsVD in relation to the NorVD group (InsVD=24±0.8 vs. NorVD=16±0.9), and the group InsVD showed higher risk of developing high and very high physiological stress (OR=7.70; 95% CI=1.351, 43.878; p=0.01). The stress and sleep quality effects were negatively correlated with vitamin D levels. Insufficient levels of vitamin D negatively affect sleep quality and psychometric variables. - Abstract
Introduction: Due to high demand and different work schedules, teachers can develop metabolic and sleep disorders. Objective: The aim of this study, therefore, was to verify the quality of sleep and the metabolic changes of public school teachers during an academic semester. Methodology: Longitudinal study, data collection performed during an academic semester, in a public high school in a capital of northeastern Brazil ( lifestyle and disease history, sleep quality - Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, blood pressure and anthropometric measurements). Blood samples were collected to determine serum glucose and the lipid profile. All variables were collected at the beginning (Step 1) and at the end (Step 2) of the academic semester with the same teachers. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software version 25.0. Results: The sample consisted of 27 teachers with an average age of 44,7 years. The concentration of fasting blood glucose (92,30 vs 108.85) and total cholesterol (161.00 vs 173.59), were significant (p<0.025 and p<0.001, respectively) when comparing the blood samples at the beginning and end of the school semester. The poor sleep quality and daytime dysfunction showed changes between the values found between the stages of the study, resulting in significant values (p<0.001). Sleep efficiency percentage showed an improvement in the second stage (p<0.004). Conclusion: Through an analysis of the results, it was found that the lipid profile, serum glucose and some sleep variables changed during the academic semester, thus showing the need for care with this category of workers.

Some environmental and genetic factors have a strong impact on the prevalence of this morbidity. Besides these factors, exist the autonomic imbalance. The autonomic imbalance is recognized as one of the main causes of systemic arterial hypertension. However, few studies have explored the impact of the presence of angiotensin converting enzyme gene polymorphism and family history of hypertension on autonomic dysfunction in adolescents. Aim: To analyze the autonomic modulation of adolescents with family history of hypertension and the participation of the angiotensin converting enzyme gene polymorphism. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of 141 adolescents with mean ages of 14.89 ± 1,64 years, students of a public schools of São Luís, Maranhão. The students were divided in offspring of hypertensive parents group (OHP) and offspring normotensive parents group (ONP). Then, an electrocardiogram for posterior analysis of heart rate variability was performed, blood pressure collects, anthropometric measures, oral mucosal cells collect, and posteriorly genotyping and statistical analysis. Results: The main finding of this study was the reduction of vagal action in the OHP group in relation to the ONP group, both presenting the DD genotype. The results showed changes in the variables: Weight (kg): 52.07 ± 9.38 vs. 58.35 ± 10 , 53; BMI (kg / m²): 20.01 ± 2.76 vs. 22.34 ± 4.30; WC (cm): 67.44 ± 6.94 vs. 72.01 ± 8.18; HR (bpm): 78.90 ± 12.73 vs. 84.84 ± 9.99; Var RR (ms²): 2408 ± 212 vs. 1182 ± 819; | LF (ms²): 1463 ± 1448 Vs. 802 ± 851; LF (%): 43 ± 16 vs. 54 ± 16; HF (%): 57 ± 16 vs. 46 ± 16; RMSSD (ms): 51 ± 26 Vs. 40 ± 20 and SD1 (ms): 39 ± 21 vs. 29 ± 14. Differences were also found when compared only the groups FPH vs. FPN on the variables %fat (%): 23.60 ± 8.33 vs. 26.33 ± 7.08; SBP (mmHg): 109.22 ± 11.32 vs. 114.62 ± 11.49; HR (bpm): 78.92 ± 12.85 vs. 83.53 ± 12.30; LF (%): 43.63 ± 15.25 vs. 48.60 ± 17.14; HF (%): 57.36 ± 15.25. Significant differences were also found when divided FPH DD + DI vs. FPN DD + DI in BMI (kg / cm²): 20.30 ± 3.35 vs. 22.05 ± 4.23; SBP (mmHg): 109.52 ± 11.49 vs. 114.54 ± 11.35; LF (%): 43.66 ± 15.90 vs. 50.49 ± 17.38 and HF (%): 56.33 ± 15.90 vs. 49.47 ± 17.37. Conclusion: Adolescents with DD genotype and family history of arterial hypertension present minor cardiac autonomic modulation as a predictive factor of pathophysiological changes of the disease.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the behavior of the cardiac autonomic nervous system in adolescents with family history of hypertension at different levels of physical activity. The sample was composed for 162 adolescents who were divided into 2 groups: (a) offspring of normotensive; and (b) offspring of hypertensive that were subdivided into low and high levels of physical activity. The subjects underwent the following evaluations: anthropometric, level of physical activity, sexual maturation, sleep quality index, blood pressure, and heart rate variability. Significant differences (P<0.05) was observed at RMSSD, PNN50, Total Variance, HF, and LF. The findings indicate the practice of physical activity has a protector function on the cardiovascular system, which was linked to the decrease in sympathetic modulation along with a greater vagal response in adolescents with normotensive or hypertensive parents. The purpose of this study was to evaluate body composition and nutritional status in 576 adolescents living in rural (RUR) and urban (URB) areas. The subjects were submitted to body composition and nutritional status assessments using the AnthroPlus software. Z-stature and Z-BMI calculations were performed. A multivariate logistic regression was also conducted and the Hosmer-Lemeshow test was used to verify the predictive capacity of the applied model. Statistical significance was set at an alpha level of P<0.05. The RUR adolescents showed significantly lower values of weight and height for age, while the adolescents of the URB demonstrated normality in these indices. In addition, adolescents in the RUR showed a risk of up to 6.29 times for short stature and 2.85 times for low weight, while adolescents of the URB presented a risk of 4.13 times for obesity. The RUR adolescents are at a high nutritional risk, while the URB adolescents are at a high risk for obesity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

EXERCISE for older people ,COGNITIVE ability ,OLDER women ,ANTHROPOMETRY ,FAT ,HEART beat ,AUTONOMIC nervous system - Abstract
This study evaluated the cardiac autonomic modulation after 3 months of exercise in 10 elderly women with low level cognitive function. The subjects were evaluated before and after the 18 wks of physical exercise. The anthropometric and clinical variables showed a significant difference in the body fat (P=0.030), heart rate (P=0.032), and double product (P=0.013). Regarding the variable cognition can be seen that the elderly showed low level cognitive function both pre-exercise and post-exercise. Physical exercise improved the subjects' cardiac autonomic modulation with an increase in the parasympathetic nervous system and a decrease in the sympathetic nervous system. Thus, heart rate was decreased along with double product and body fat. Also, functional capacity was increased in the elderly women with low cognitive function. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
