Introduction: Despite the available secondary preventive treatments, the management of stable coronary artery disease (SCAD) remains challenging. Intermediate coronary lesion (ICL), defined as luminal stenosis between 50% and 70%, is a key stage of SCAD. However, existing therapeutic strategies are limitated in delaying plaque progression and associated with various adverse effects and economic burdens. Qing-Xin-Jie-Yu Granules (QXJYG) with proven anti-platelet, anti-inflammatory, and lipid-lowering effects may compensate for the drawbacks of current treatments and can be tested as a complementary therapy. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of QXJYG in treating ICL, with a particular focus on its impact on myocardial ischemia and plaque progression. Materials and methods: This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. A total of 120 participants with ICL will be randomly assigned to two groups in a 1:1 ratio. In addition to basic medications, the intervention group will receive QXJYG, while the control group will receive a placebo for over 6 months, followed by a 12-month follow-up. The primary efficacy outcome is computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve. The secondary outcomes include the degree of coronary stenosis, coronary artery calcification score, Gensini score, Seattle Angina Questionnaire score, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, matrix metalloproteinase-9, blood lipids, and carotid artery ultrasound parameters. Major adverse cardiovascular events are recorded as endpoints. The safety outcomes include composite events of bleeding, laboratory test results, and adverse events. Clinical visits are scheduled at baseline, every 2 months during the treatment, and after a 12-month follow-up. Discussion: This trial is anticipated to yield reliable results to verify the efficacy and safety of QXJYG in the treatment of ICL, which will provide novel insights to help address the prevailing therapeutic dilemma of ICL, thereby facilitating for the management of SCAD. The Chinese white pine beetle (Dendroctonus armandi Tsai and Li) is the causal organism for the colossal death of the Chinese white pine (Pinus armandi Fr). We investigated the change of monoterpenes in the stem pholem and xylem in P. armandi saplings at 4 days, 8 days, and 30 days after treatment using treatment (MeJa + Tween-20 and Tween-20 as control) and untreated. GC-MS analysis found that the total monoterpene concentrations in the pholem and xylem in MeJa-treated saplings increased significantly compared with control or untreated saplings. Additionally, the proportions of β-pinene in the stem pholem, β-myrcene in the stem xylem, and limonene + β-phellandrene in both pholem and xylem of MeJa-treated saplings were increased significantly compared with control or untreated saplings. Based on our results, we suggest that by increasing the total concentration of monoterpene and the concentrations of β-myrcene, β-pinene and limonene + β-phellandrene maybe play an important defensive role against insect pests in P. armandi defense.

The Chinese white pine beetle, Dendroctonus armandi Tsai and Li (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae), is a serious pest of coniferous forests in China. Thus, there is considerable interest in developing eco-friendly pest-control methods, with the use of semiochemicals as a distinct possibility. Olfaction is extremely important for fitness of D. armandi because it is the primary mechanism through which the insect locates hosts and mates. Thus, here we characterized nine full-length genes encoding chemosensory proteins (CSPs) from D. armandi. The genes were ubiquitously and multiply expressed across different developmental stages and adult tissues, indicating various roles in developmental metamorphosis, olfaction, and gustation. Ligand-binding assays implied that DarmCSP2 may be the carrier of D. armandi pheromones and various plant host volatiles. These volatiles were identified through RNA interference of DarmCSP2 as: (+)-α-pinene, (+)-ß-pinene, (−)-ß-pinene, (+)-camphene, (+)-3-carene, and myrcene. The systematic chemosensory functional analysis of DarmCSP2 in this study clarified the molecular mechanisms underlying D. armandi olfaction and provided a theoretical foundation for eco-friendly pest control. Studies have shown that exposure to phthalates can affect neonatal birth weight. However, epidemiological evidence on the mediating role of maternal thyroid hormones is limited. Therefore, this study, based on the Compliance Birth Cohort, aimed to reveal the potential mediating function of maternal thyroid hormones during pregnancy between phthalic acid ester (PAE) exposure and neonatal birth weight. The study included 1274 mother-infant pairs. Linear regression analysis revealed a negative association between MIBP and neonatal birth weight (β = -62.236; 95% CI: -118.842, -5.631). Bayesian kernel-machine regression (BKMR) indicated a nonlinear negative association between PAE metabolites (PAEs) and birth weight. Linear regression analysis revealed a positive association between neonatal birth weight and FT3 (β = 41.605; 95% CI: 2.631, 80.380). The BKMR model also found a positive association between thyroid hormones and birth weight but in a nonlinear manner. Additionally, linear regression analyses showed that TSH, TT3, TT4, FT3, and FT4 were associated with PAEs. The BKMR model revealed an inverted U-shaped association of PAEs with TT3 and FT3 and a nonlinear association with TSH, TT4, and FT4. Structural equation modeling revealed that MMP, MIBP, MBP, MEHP, MOP, MBZP, and MEOHP contributed to a net reduction in neonatal birth weight of 32 g through the TT3, FT3, TT4, and FT4 pathways. The findings suggest that exposure to PAEs during pregnancy leads to a reduction in neonatal birth weight, possibly due to the involvement of maternal thyroid hormones as mediators. In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have greatly improved the survival rate of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients without driver mutation. Compared with wild-type tumors, tumors with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations have greater heterogeneity in immune microenvironment characteristics such as programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) and tumor mutational burden (TMB). Whether ICIs is suitable for NSCLC patients with EGFR mutation has been controversial. Clinical studies have shown that immunomonotherapy has no significant effect on patients with EGFR mutant NSCLC. ICIs combined with chemotherapy and antiangiogenic drugs show good survival benefits. This paper overviews the clinical research and related mechanism of ICIs single drug or combination therapy inadvanced NSCLC patients with EGFR mutation.

In the past 20 years, with the development of molecular biology, the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has been developing. Targeted therapy has improved the survival period of patients with positive mutation of tumor driver gene. More and more targets have been found gradually. Drugs targeting different driving genes have brought the treatment of NSCLC into a promising target era. Among the many driving genes of NSCLC, the fusion of transfection proto oncogene (RET) is the addition of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), analytic lymphama kinase (ALK) and c-ros oncogene 1-receptor tyrosine kinase (ROS1) are emerging targets. Targeted drugs for RET gene fusion have been constantly updated. Recently, new high selective RET inhibitors blu-667 and loxo-292 have made important breakthroughs. This paper will review the review of the fusion mutation of RET gene in NSCLC, the detection methods, clinicopathological characteristics, targeted treatment and the research progress after drug resistance.

"Liquid biopsy" have been intensively studied in recent decades. The exosomes carry their maternal partial functional proteins and genes. As a form of intercellular vesicular transport, exosome-mediated intercellular communication participates in a variety of physiological and pathological processes. The information transmission mediated by exosomes is associated with pathophysiological status and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of cancer. Their detection may be beneficial for the diagnosis and treatment of tumor. This article reviews advances in knowledge on the exosome properties, the effect of exosomes on malignant tumorigenesis, and their clinical application. The data will provide a reference for clinical practitioners.
