Abstract

This technical report describes two methods that were developed for Task 2 of the DCASE 2020 challenge. The challenge involves an unsupervised learning to detect anomalous sounds, thus only normal machine working condition samples are available during the training process. The two methods involve deep autoencoders, based on dense and convolutional architectures that use melspectogram processed sound features. Experiments were held, using the six machine type datasets of the challenge. Overall, competitive results were achieved by the proposed dense and convolutional AE, outperforming the baseline challenge method., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, submitted for DCase 2020 challenge

RanCoord is an open-source Python package that allows to easily generate random coordinates within a set of geographic boundaries. The framework offers methods to generate, save and plot a determined number of random coordinates generated from a location polygon or a simple name/address through its geocoding. Abstract

This study introduces a second-level adaptive temporal-causal decision model for deciding whether to keep or not to keep a baby. In this model, different actors and factors that influence the decision-making process have been incorporated based on literature. Hereby, the actors are responsible for the Hebbian learning component and make the model adaptive. Complementary speed factors regulate when learning happens. Three scenarios for the different possible outcomes; keeping the baby, having an abortion and putting the baby up for adoption provide insights into the influences of the actors on making a decision.
