9. Core–Shell PEDOT-PVDF Nanofiber-Based Ammonia Gas Sensor with Robust Humidity Resistance.

Abstract

Current ammonia sensors exhibit cross-sensitivity to water vapor, leading to false alarms. We developed a core–shell nanofiber (CSNF) structure to address these issues, using conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) as the core and hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) as the shell. The PEDOT-PVDF CSNF, with a diameter of ~500 nm and a 300 nm thick PVDF layer, showed a superior sensitivity and humidity resistance compared to conventional PEDOT membranes for ammonia concentrations of 10–100 ppm. In humid environments, CSNF sensors outperformed membrane sensors, exhibiting a tenfold increase in performance at 51% relative humidity (RH). This study highlights the potential of CSNF sensors for practical ammonia detection, maintaining a high performance under varying humidity levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Precision medicine, particularly therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), is essential for optimizing drug dosage and minimizing toxicity. However, current TDM methods have limitations, including the need for skilled operators, patient discomfort, and the inability to monitor dynamic drug level changes. In recent years, wearable sensors have emerged as a promising solution for drug monitoring. These sensors offer real-time and continuous measurement of drug concentrations in biofluids, enabling personalized medicine and reducing the risk of toxicity. This review provides an overview of drugs detectable by wearable sensors and explores biosensing technologies that can enable drug monitoring in the future. It presents a comparative analysis of multiple biosensing technologies and evaluates their strengths and limitations for integration into wearable detection systems. The promising capabilities of wearable sensors for real-time and continuous drug monitoring offer revolutionary advancements in diagnostic tools, supporting personalized medicine and optimal therapeutic effects. However, the presence of the brain barrier blocks the effective delivery of drugs and leads to the treatment failure of various drugs. Abstract

This paper describes the production of an artificial hair cell receptor based on aligned micro/nano polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) fibers. Suspended aligned micro/nano fiber arrays were successfully produced on an insulator film by a novel method called thermo-direct drawing procedure. Using this method, aligned micro/nano-size PVDF fibers are obtained. Some key problems such as the fabrication of the electrodes on a single fiber along fiber drawing direction and poling of micro/nano fibers to endow them with good piezoeffective activity have been presented. Comparative experiments show that the artificial hair cell receptor has reliable response with good sensibility under pressure stimulation if a standard pressure sensor is taken as a reference. The preliminary validation experiments show the novel artificial receptor is a promising technique in the detection of the flow medium speed and vibration.

24. Geological characteristics and metallogenic model of the Zhenxu-type laterite gold deposits in Guangxi.

Abstract

The deposits, which include Zhenxu, Xiajia and Neilang, are hosted by auriferous red weathering crusts whose clay minerals increase in Al and Fe from the lower to the upper layer. The gold orebodies in the two layers assume stratiform, lenticular and irregular forms and consist mostly of clay minerals. Their main clastic constituent is romeite, an important indicator mineral for gold-rich orebodies. It is concluded that the deposits accumulated in karstic depressions by leaching and sedimentation during lateritisation., The deposits, which include Zhenxu, Xiajia and Neilang, are hosted by auriferous red weathering crusts whose clay minerals increase in Al and Fe from the lower to the upper layer. Abstract

The deposit, typical of those in altered mylonites, is located in a ductile shear zone that is closely connected genetically with the Keziletawu nappe tectonic system. The deformation was characterised by a combination of deep-level structures. With regard to ore genesis, three important structural stages can be distinguished. Weak gold mineralisation occurred during the early stage, when shearing was taking place and schistosity developing. During the middle stage of deformation and decomposition, percolating fluids caused hydrothermal alteration and precipitated large quantities of gold under a progressively shortened strain regime.
