This research study aimed to investigate the impact of student satisfaction with services and facilities on graduate school success. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys and interviews with graduate students from various disciplines. The results indicated that student satisfaction with services and facilities significantly impacted academic performance and success in graduate school. Students who reported higher satisfaction levels were likelier to achieve better grades and complete their programs within the expected timeframe. Furthermore, satisfaction with services and facilities was closely linked to student well-being and engagement. Students who felt supported and had access to necessary resources reported higher levels of motivation, commitment, and overall satisfaction with their graduate school experience. Student satisfaction with services and facilities was crucial in shaping their perception of the institution. Students who perceived their needs as valued and received high-quality services and facilities had a more positive perception of their graduate school experience and felt a stronger sense of belonging within the academic community. In conclusion, institutions should prioritize student satisfaction with services and facilities to enhance the graduate school experience. By regularly monitoring and enhancing these factors, schools may establish a supportive and conducive learning environment that contributes to greater academic achievements and student wellbeing.

This qualitative case study contributed to the existing body of knowledge by examining the empowering effect of faculty mentorship on the research skill development of MAEd students. The professor-mentorship provided to MAEd students played a vital role in developing their research skills. Throughout the research process, professor-mentors guided and supported students, enhancing their abilities in selecting research topics, conducting literature reviews, designing methodologies, and analyzing data. The mentorship improved methodological rigor and fostered critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deeper comprehension of the research process. Feedback and support from mentors were instrumental in refining students' research proposals, writing, and presentations. Professor-mentors encouraged students to share their research findings through conferences and publications, providing valuable growth opportunities. This exposure boosted students' research skills and bolstered their confidence as researchers. Overall, professor mentors' mentorship significantly shaped the research skills and career paths of MAEd students, instilling a passion for evidence-based practices in education and preparing them for future research endeavors.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted higher education institutions worldwide, particularly Catholic schools offering graduate programs. The pandemic substantially impacted faculty teaching performance at a Catholic graduate school. Many faculty members cited difficulties transitioning to online instruction. Providing continuing support and training for online teaching, nurturing a culture of collaboration and innovation among faculty members, and emphasizing student-centered approaches can all help improve faculty teaching performance in Catholic graduate schools. More research is needed to study the long-term impacts of the epidemic on faculty teaching performance and to discover effective techniques for assisting faculty members in transitioning to online teaching. Future research should look into the impact of other factors, such as curriculum revisions or teaching styles, on faculty teaching performance in the Catholic graduate school. Overall, the study emphasizes the necessity of assisting faculty members in adapting to the obstacles of online teaching and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity in Catholic graduate schools to improve teaching performance. Further research can expand on these findings to inform higher education policy and practice.

The Doctor of Education (EdD) degree is vital in preparing individuals for leadership positions in educational settings. A key element of the EdD program is the faculty's proficiency in their specific fields of expertise. Assessing the faculty's mastery of subject matter is crucial for guaranteeing the quality of education and offering students a comprehensive and fulfilling learning experience. This case analysis examined the evaluation of EdD faculty's mastery of subject matter from the student's standpoint. In conclusion, students' ratings of their EdD professors' depth of knowledge and expertise varied, with some praising their professors for exceptional expertise and others expressing mixed opinions or dissatisfaction. However, it is important to consider that these ratings are subjective and may not provide a complete assessment of a professor's expertise. Factors such as sample size and specific context can influence students' perceptions. A more comprehensive evaluation that includes multiple students' opinions, objective measures of expertise, and overall learning outcomes would offer a more accurate assessment.

Doctor of Education (EdD) faculty members play a critical role in contributing to the goals and objectives of their institutions. This case study explored EdD faculty member's contributions to the institution's goals and objectives. A comprehensive analysis of the students' assessments has identified several emerging themes. These themes highlighted how EdD faculty members demonstrate expertise and knowledge, contribute to research, provide mentorship and guidance, foster collaboration and community engagement, engage in service and leadership, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, prioritize professional development and innovation, advocate for evidence-based practice, create a sense of community and belonging, instill a culture of lifelong learning, and serve as institutional ambassadors. Understanding and recognizing these themes is crucial for institutions to support and empower their EdD faculty members effectively. By implementing recommendations such as providing professional development opportunities, fostering collaboration, recognizing excellence, supporting mentorship and advising, promoting diversity and inclusion, encouraging research dissemination and engagement, nurturing a sense of community and belonging, and establishing feedback mechanisms, institutions can enhance the contributions of EdD faculty members to the overall success of their institutions and the field of education as a whole. Future research in this area could further explore the long-term impact of faculty contributions, conduct comparative analyses, examine student outcomes, explore faculty perspectives, investigate institutional support and resources, and explore the impact of collaborative partnerships.

The 21st century educational landscape has changed the way schools undertake instructional supervision and assessment. Technological developments paved the way for a shift in skills requirements from learners which is termed as 21st century skills. This study utilized a comprehensive literature review to investigate the current issues and concerns in instructional supervision and assessment. It also determined conditions that would make these processes effective vis-à-vis the needs of the current times. The study showed that there is a need for a collaborative and trust-based type of supervision. There should be regularity, continuity, and quality in supervision with a provision for adequate funding and capacity building. For instructional assessment, a HOTS-based assessment in conformity with international assessment standards is appropriate to the current times. An online or e-assessment should also be considered.

Superintendency is regarded as one of the most visible and powerful leadership roles in the world of education today (Sovine, 2000). This research was conducted to identify the challenges faced by assistant superintendents and their perspectives in terms of preparation and support. The study made use of the qualitative research design and was conducted in Region III, Philippines with 10 participants. Findings showed that assistant superintendents faced issues and challenges in terms of organizational and job-related mandates and have negative perspectives about the preparation and support extended to them. During the day-to-day operations in their respective divisions, assistant superintendents face governance and culture-related problems in terms of procurement, handling administrative cases and managing personnel-related actions. On the other hand, during the epidemic, public school superintendents faced several hurdles due to the complexities and challenges of education reforms at both the national and local levels. The school systems are undergoing continuous reforms and redirections as they transition from distance learning to limited face-to-face instructions. Additional obstacles have arisen because of increased public pressure for higher student performance in the face of the pandemic, causing problems throughout the educational system. As educational leaders, the Assistant Superintendents have a lot of work to accomplish to fulfill their duties. Furthermore, in the new normal, there is a leadership crisis due to teacher shortages, insufficient school finance, a lack of school facilities and resources to manage distance education, and excessive time demands. These complicated elements have added to the difficulties that assistant superintendents have in meeting the demands of their jobs. Finally, the critical requirement for skills and competencies to deliver efficiently and effectively has caused them stress, prompting them to seek personal and professional help by whatever means available. Based on the findings and analysis generated, this study recommends several pre-service activities, programs, and projects relevant to superintendency preparation and support. Conduct of immersion programs to prepare aspiring superintendents; coaching and mentoring of skills and competencies relevant to the functions of the job; attend graduate school; participate in exchange study programs; undergo induction program provided by DepEd; and intense preparation on legal and moral aspects of the leadership role.

Innovation and the development of knowledge in the field of scientific research is increasing exponentially, but it continues to be disjointed. It makes it difficult to keep up with state-of-the-art and to be at the forefront of research and dissemination, as well as to evaluate empirical evidence in the area of academic excellence. Recent literature reviews are frequently lacking in thoroughness and rigor and are carried out in part rather than using a specific design. This descriptive-mapping review aimed to illustrate plagiarism and research integrity literature published over a 10-year period (2010 to 2020). To achieve this goal, literature reviews were conducted to obtain relevant articles and documentation on plagiarism and its potential impact in the academic and publishing industries. Methodical searches in specific databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, including the Google Scholar Search Engine, have been undertaken to ensure the accuracy of the results. Thereafter, descriptive mapping was used to categorize qualifying articles. Over 350 titles were collected from the searches, of which 129 complete works were published in various journals during the covered period. Finally, in this review, 35 papers were eligible for inclusion. The themes were enumerated in the scholarly articles. Findings revealed a dearth of scientifically credible and relevant literature on plagiarism issues, such as the phenomenon in the academic environment, its particular specific factors and triggering causes, and the impacts of the institutional policy interventions being enforced. Although the results provided background information for the creation of a realistic guide to avoid plagiarism incidences, robust empirical and evaluative studies should be planned to identify the real implications of preventing plagiarism to uphold the credibility of scientific research and evaluate the impact of ethical issues, practices, and policies suggested by organizations and industries.

Recently, the impact of smart technologies and artificial intelligence as mechanisms for blended instruction in higher education institutions around the world has been of great interest. A cross-sectional design was used for this study. At a defined time, assumptions concerning the efficiency of a localized application of integrated smart technology and AI-mediated thesis and dissertation assessment during COVID-19 disaster came into play. The completed thesis and dissertation reports obtained by e-mail during March 2020 were first evaluated using the AI-tool to assess if the manuscript is ready for submission or requires minor or major revision. I have demonstrated how academic research mentors can contextualize and introduce a new e-mentoring approach. The AI-enhanced tool was highly effective in addition to being able to process initial evaluation in an average of 8 minutes per submission, with its special features and accurate enough to determine the accuracy of the language and references of a scientific study. Nonetheless, follow-up work can include plagiarism identification, abstract intelligence, journal scope checker and paper submission's technical compliance.

This article provides an overview of research methodologies and designs, sample techniques and approaches, research ethics, and strategies for assisting students with research in the new normal. Each strategy offers some advantages and disadvantages. In times of global health emergencies, virtual surveys surpassed traditional methods. Replacing survey respondents is a straightforward process. Web-based control systems provide rapid data export and real-time data access during the survey, therefore increasing the data quality. While traditional surveys need travel and time-consuming data entry, virtual surveys may capture location information via GPS, time stamps, and GIS-integrated data. They take less time to complete than traditional surveys. Participation in virtual surveys is difficult since it is difficult to incentivize responders. Participants who do not have a mobile phone or are not linked to a mobile network may also be charged for participation. Each method or design has an associated acceptable sampling strategy and ethical considerations that the researcher must consider. Experts recommended mixing virtual and face-to-face or paper-based modalities to increase those with restricted access to smartphones or mobile networks. Mobile applications are simple to use. Due to the constrained nature of responder involvement, instructions must be precise. During the survey, one may connect with respondents via chat platforms, SMS, or app-based alerts. Effective data collecting may help recruiters save time and money. Consider collaborating with organizations that can reach target populations through social media or with local research firms that have access to massive datasets. It will aid in the development of seamless interaction and will boost research productivity. Always maintain an awareness of participant privacy and interaction. If possible, express gratitude for the responders' time and urge them to participate, notably low-income respondents. Consider using survey participants' mobile data credits to cover their data consumption or negotiating with cell carriers to reduce or remove such charges. Allow sufficient time for the development of virtual tools. Verify that the tools are user-friendly and appropriate, especially if they are unfamiliar with virtual surveys.

Learning how to communicate effectively is an essential skill for any career nowadays. Surprisingly, almost all organizations strive day in and out to assist their employees, especially the frontline staff, to learn how to communicate effectively. They even institute coaching or develop training and development programs on how to continuously improve their communication with fellow workers, department heads and clienteles. The main objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the communication network of Columban College, Inc. in Olongapo City, Philippines. It utilized the descriptive design of research using all the frontline staff as the respondents. The researcher used a survey-questionnaire to generate relevant responses from the respondents, while observations and interviews were conducted to offer supplementary resources. Coordination/ Knowledge sharing, the effectiveness of communication and reliability revealed very strong agreement among the communication dimensions, while strong agreement on communication flow, barriers to effective communication, timeliness and media effectiveness was disclosed. On communicating company news and updates, the communication tools were generally rated as somewhat effective, whereas very effective for communicating information.

A major change in our country's educational landscape is taking place. The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched the Enhance Basic Education (K-12) Program last June 2012. The main purpose of this study was to assess the Level of Cognizance of Basic Education Teachers on the Enhanced K-12 Basic Education Program at Columban College. The descriptive design was employed involving all the basic education teachers and using a survey-checklist to gather pertinent data. The data were treated and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The teachers knew the goals and objectives of the enhanced program but were lacking information, skills and expertise in delivering the curriculum. They were aware relative to the areas on curriculum development, teacher education and training, instruction, career guidance and assessment. Moreover, they were highly aware on the goals and objectives of the enhanced basic education program. The teachers were able to show that being aware of the enhanced program is not sufficient for them to become effective teachers of the new curriculum. Thus, there is a need for further information and skills enhancement regarding the Program. The department should devise strategies on how to impart knowledge, information, trainings and seminars to teachers.

Use of strategic questioning as the formative assessment is one of the strategies that advocates the improvement of learners' performance in Mathematics. The study assessed the contribution of strategic questioning to the improvement and development of the foundation of knowledge of learners to come up with improved performance and developed a plan of strategic questioning. The experimental evaluation design-posttest only was used with posttest for both control and experimental groups. The experimental groups were exposed to the treatment. Data gathered through a checklist and plan for strategic questioning were developed. Two hundred twenty-five students under the researcher were randomly selected as control and experimental groups. Data were statistically treated with percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and p-test. It was found out that there was a significant difference between the performance of students in the controlled and experimental groups after instruction/intervention. This meant that strategic questioning as formative assessment contributes to the effective performance of the learners in mathematics. It can be inferred further that categorizing questioning to the lower level and higher level can really increase the learners' performance in math. The research revealed then that using contextualized problems/lessons as one form of strategic questioning in every quarter contributed to improving the learners' competence in solving math problems.

There are currently a number of increasingly significant environmental concerns and threats to the future of society, and by being more energy efficient, schools can help prevent greenhouse gas emissions and improve the students' learning environment. School districts can and have used the savings from improved energy performance to help pay for building improvements and other upgrades that enhance the learning environment. The study focused on the analysis of the eco-friendly practices of STE implementers based on energy and water conservation practices. This study utilized the descriptive-survey design of research. It involved a total number of thirty-six STE teachers, eighty-four YES-O officers, and the sixty SSG officers among STE implementers. The instrument was subjected to a reliability test. The study concluded that there was no significant variation in the assessment of the participants on energy and water conservation. Thus, the growing concern with eco-friendly issues and their impact on general awareness among stakeholders requires a functional management strategy.

This paper presents ReproRun, a flexible and extensible run-time framework for the reconfiguration of functions in field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices used in popular software-defined radio (SDR) platforms. The FPGA devices embed a hardwired or soft processing system (PS) which communicates with the programmable logic (PL) using a standard embedded bus interface. In order to apply a seamless run-time partial reconfiguration, we made use of all the related building blocks, design guidelines, and tools offered by AMD-Xilinx. In ReproRun, each partial bitstream targeting a reconfigurable region (RR) of the PL area comes with its respective firmware (i.e., software functions) that runs on the PS side. Our work guarantees run-time updates of the firmware without interrupting the functionality of other software processes running in the PS or PL, by employing a specialized controller, denoted as Run-timE firmWare reconfIguration contRollEr (REWIRE). The latter leverages the open asymmetric multiprocessing framework (OpenAMP). The partial bitstreams and respective firmware are fetched from a remote location using the trivial file transfer protocol (TFTP). ReproRun can be applied in different FPGA accelerators residing in disaggregated open radio access network (RAN) equipment, adaptive radio access technologies, and Edge servers hosting virtualized functions. Introduction Actinomycosis is an unusual chronic granulomatous infectious disease. They are commensals in various sites of the human body but with little pathogenicity. Actinomyces israelii is the most prevalent species but more than 30 species have been described. Infection of the lower respiratory tract is unusual, the involvement of mediastinum being even rarer. Case report A 63-year-old man, previously healthy and living in a rural area, presented with a 5-month history of hemoptysis, pleuritic pain, weight loss, and night sweats. Community-acquired pneumonia with a mediastinal mass was documented, for which he received antibiotic management. Thoracoscopy was carried out for diagnosis and resection of the mediastinal mass due to inconclusive findings in the percutaneous biopsy. Pathology reported the presence of filamentous Gram-positive bacteria visible in Grocott staining. Due to the pathology findings, and the fact that no other infectious agents were identified, a diagnosis of actinomycosis was established. Treatment with oral amoxicillin 1g TID for 6 months was initiated. Conclusions As far as we are aware, we present the sixth case of mediastinal actinomycosis. We present this case to bring attention to this rare but clinically relevant presentation to be considered as a differential diagnosis of mediastinal masses and to emphasize the need for specific anaerobic cultures to improve the diagnostic yield.
