The main focus of this work lays on the compound class of sulfoximines. First, the syntheses of sulfur-based building blocks for their incorporation into BN- and BO-doped inorganic-organic hybrid polymers is discussed. Secondly, different derivatizations of sulfoximines are examined. N-Oximsulfoximines are synthesized by a reaction between imidoylchlorides and free NH-sulfoximines under basic conditions. Further, a [3+2]-cycloaddition between N-cyanosulfoximines and nitrones is investigated. Also, the reaction of N-cyanosulfoximines and acyl Meldrum’s acid derivatives leading to 5-carbonyl-1,3-oxazine-2,4-dione N-substituted sulfoximines is explored. The third part of this thesis deals with the syntheses of sulfoximine analogues of bioactive compounds. First a sulfoximine analogue of Sulfasalazine was synthesized and tested in vitro against different cancer cell lines. Secondly the synthesis of a Pimozide sulfoximine analogue is described.
