The paper intends to present the results of a multidisciplinary project concerning the architectural documentation and the three-dimensional virtualization of the Ramintoja Church in Vilnius (Lithuania), conducted through morphological-metric, diagnostic and archaeological analyses. The building, which is part of a baroque complex of Augustinian origin located in the historic center of Vilnius, has gone through multiple construction phases since its probable foundation around the XIV century. The study has provided initial historical-archival research and then it has been carried out a digital survey of the building through integrated methodologies. For this purpose, TLS have been combined with SfM photogrammetric methodologies through the acquisition of images both close-range and aerial by UAV. At the same time, archaeological studies have been carried out through the stratigraphic analysis of the masonry to determine the construction techniques adopted during the various historical phases. Finally, diagnostic analyses have been carried out through the analysis of the state of the instabilities in order to identify the main construction phases and the possible restoration and consolidation interventions. As part of a Lithuanian national project of dissemination and enhancement of Heritage, and on the basis of the results of researches, were then developed reconstructive hypotheses of the church by identifying the main historical periods, and creating for each, a 3D model. These have thus become the support for the creation of an interactive virtual tour, allowing, through Oculus visors, a VR experience for the knowledge and dissemination of the historical evolution of the architectural Heritage.DOI: https://doi.org/10.20365/disegnarecon.27.2021.13

A luglio 2018 si è tenuto a Bressanone, nella Facoltà di Scienze della Formazione della Libera Università di Bolzano, il convegno internazionale e interdisciplinare EARTH2018 - Digital Environments for Education, Arts and Heritage. Il convegno si poneva come obiettivo il confronto interdisciplinare, con una proiezione internazionale, sul tema del Digital Cultural Heritage. Le aree di ricerca interessate sono state: il disegno (graphic science), la pedagogia, la psicologia cognitiva e l’economia della cultura In July, 2018 the international and interdisciplinary conference EARTH2018 - Digital Environments for Education, Arts and Heritage was held in Bressanone, in the Faculty of Education of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. The aim of the international conference was the interdisciplinary debate about Digital Cultural Heritage. The areas of research concerned were: drawing (graphic science), pedagogy, cognitive psychology and the economics of culture.

The workshop “Reading and Designing the Kyrenia Castle” is one the results of the ongoing scientific collaboration between Girne American University (Department of Interior Architecture), with the Department of Architecture of the University of Florence and the Department of Interior Architecture of Özyeğin University. The workshop took place between the 6th and the 13th of May 2018, at Girne American University, Cyprus. Therein, fifty-six students coming from the undergraduate courses of Girne American University, Özyeğin University and University of Florence, divided in small groups, worked for one week under the supervision of fifteen master and doctoral students coming from University of Florence, Özyeğin University, “Sapienza” University of Rome, and Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi from Trabzon.

Le recenti innovazioni scientifiche e gli studi delle scienze cognitive costituiscono un punto di riferimento per la ricerca artistica che, impiegando diversificate metodologie di interpretazione grafica, si apre verso nuove forme della rappresentazione. L’articolo propone alcune riflessioni sulle implicazioni del movimento in relazione allo spazio architettonico con l’obiettivo di riconoscere nella percezione del movimento, configurazioni bidimensionali che misurano lo spazio restituendo nuove informazioni e rapporti grafici: il peso, il colore, la superficie, il disegno. Recent scientific innovations and studies of cognitive science are a reference point for artistic research, which using different graphic interpretation methodologies, opens to new forms of representation. The article deals with some reflections on the implications of the movement in relation to the architectural space with the aim of recognizing in motion perception, two-dimensional configurations that measure the space giving new information and graphic ratios: weight, color, surface, and drawing.

In the course of this paper the study about the three nineteenth-century railway stations of the city of Naples is presented : the Naples-Portici; the Naples-Capua and the station of the 1867 (after the unity of the country). These types of architecture, forever destroyed, are the symbol of some places that now only live in the dimension of our mind. The following paper is envolved in a broader research that has its result in the elaboation of riconfigurative hypothesis of the builings. They arrived to this outcome only after extensive research conducted in many archives in which unpublished and various documents were found. / Nel contributo viene presentata l'analisi grafica condotta sugli elaborati grafici delle tre stazioni ferroviarie ottocentesche della città di Napoli: la Napoli-Portici; la Napoli-Capua e la stazione postunitaria del 1867. Queste architetture, purtroppo distrutte, rappresentano luoghi che oggi vivono solo nella dimensione della memoria. Il lavoro, qui esposto, s’inserisce in una più ampia attività di ricerca che vede nell’elaborazione di ipotesi riconfigurative degli edifici, il suo compimento. Ad esse si è giunti solo dopo approfondite ricerche svolte presso diversi Archivi nei quali si è individuata documentazione anche inedita e di diversa natura.

By means of this article, it proposes a cognitive study of the coastal defence system of Amalfi; place rich in history, which is well suited as a case study to experiment the innovative digital techniques for the representation and preservation of cultural heritage. The interpretation of the building, its forms and its nature has been developed through the integration of monoscopic photogrammetry with BIM, this in order to reach the realization of an infographic image summary with the high knowledge content, and for the enhancement and conservation of these architectures

This study focuses one of the most puzzling works of art made in Palermo at the end of the medieval age: the tree of life, a rich geometrical decoration with animal and human figures in the southern porch of the Cathedral of Palermo. Topographic and SfM photogrammetric methods produced a detailed orthophoto of the porch. Images collected during restoration have been rectified and superimposed to the orthophoto. The geometrical analysis of the decorative patterns reveals a complex design and meaningful links between the decoration and the general architectural layout of the porch.

Il contributo affronta il tema del paesaggio attraverso la storia delle norme di tutela e la definizione da esse data di paesaggio, dall’idea estetizzante della legge Croce ai paesaggi culturali portatrici di identità della Convenzione europea e del Codice. Il concetto di paesaggio è cambiato nel tempo fino a giungere a quello di paesaggio culturale espresso nella Convenzione europea del paesaggio e nel Codice dei beni culturali italiano. Il percorso concettuale che porta dal paesaggio come veduta al paesaggio culturale, che è legato ai cambiamenti culturali della società, è ripercorribile attraverso la normativa paesaggistica italiana, che ha un suo punto cardine nell’art. 9 della Costituzione

The work describes a scientific and educational initiative developed by Author in the “Roma Tre” University to study the way of planning valorization of Cultural Heritage by means of didactic and scientific sustainable activities. The project entails preparing and executing together research and training program for the safeguarding and fruition of Roman Ostia’s archaeological heritage. The scheme aims at setting up a sustainable system for documenting, conserving and managing environmental, natural and anthropic context of the archaeological site and for improving and developing it to promote tourism by identifying and characterizing potential tangible and intangible attractions. The system above is based on a devoted university course of study in which both architects and archaeologists are involved in documenting the site and projecting its valorization. The data’s organization will be carried out by means of a digital platform, a novel experimental tool functional for programming suitable interventions to manage the ancient city’s museum. So far, the safeguarding and restoration measures, both traditional and innovative, allow Ostia’s ancient architectural manufactures to survive and enhance the gift of eloquence and vocation for use that the site can propose for the valorization of the local territory.

This Report describes the result of some researches about the historical and critical analysis of ostiense harbour system, which is inserted into the perimeter of the Natural Reserve along the Roman Coast. The purpose of this work is the development of the south-western suburb of Rome by a planning of a common museum balancing the various cultural resources of this area as a sequence of thematic paths in which the objects are no longer isolated elements randomly organized, but they can be stages of a coherent system. Therefore, the study is based on the elaboration of critical readings about the south-western suburb of Rome in its material, landscape and environmental context, employing the methodology preparatory to a participation that starts from the territorial level and achieves to indicating the intervention on the individual product.

The parochial church of Santa Águeda in Sotillo de la Ribera, located in the province of Burgos, Spain is the object of the works of graphical documentation using different methods of survey, which provide a material with different levels of precision, here analysed and confronted. The value of documentation of buildings never surveyed before, enables a much more thorough formal analysis and offers the possibility of contrasting cases with similar features within the territory. The supplementary value added by the knowledge of measures of ancient architectures means a useful tool for their study and, along with formal and historic studies supplies enough elements to obtain a revalorization of a patrimony far off the beaten tracks

Il progetto pilota – elaborato da un gruppo di ricercatori dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze (DiDA: Dipartimento di Architettura) e dell’Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (CIFA: Centro de Investigaciones de La Faculta de Arquitectura) – ha come fine quello rilevare e analizzare dal punto di vista stilistico e formale alcuni esempi significativi di fabbriche religiose caratterizzanti il tessuto urbano dell’antica capitale del Guatemala, allo scopo di individuarne gli archetipi e, conseguentemente, di formulare delle ipotesi sull’aspetto originario dei manufatti, mutilati da ripetuti eventi sismici accorsi in cinque secoli di storia, rappresentabili attraverso tecniche di anastilosi e ricostruzione virtuale. La prima fase del progetto è incentrata sulla documentazione di cinque complessi religiosi campione (la Catedral de San José, la Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús, la Iglesia de San Agustín, la Iglesia de Santa Clara e la Iglesia de las Capuchinas), dei quali sono stati analizzati dal punto di vista geometrico e formale i fronti delle rispettive chiese.
