- Abstract
Over half of women with psychosis are mothers. Research suggests that mothers with psychosis face unique challenges affecting both their mental health prognosis and their relationship with their children. Moreover, those children have a higher risk of developing a mental disorder. Notwithstanding, interventions specifically tailored to these families remain largely uncovered. Metacognitive Training (MCT) has demonstrated its efficacy in improving cognitive insight, symptom management, and social cognition in people with psychosis. However, there is no evidence of the efficacy of MCT in a family setting (MCT-F). This study describes the first adaptation of MCT for mothers with psychosis and their adolescent children in an online group setting. The phases (assessment, decision, adaptation, production, topical experts' integration) of the ADAPT-ITT model were systematically applied through a participatory approach (n = 22), including a first-person perspective and involving qualitative (e.g., topical expert literature review and consensus groups, interviews, thematic analyses) and quantitative methods. While MCT's core components were retained, participants guided adaptations both in content and delivery. The findings suggest the importance of community engagement and sharing decision-making processes to demonstrate the acceptability and feasibility of the adapted intervention. Employing a structured approach such as the ADAPT-ITT model ensures readiness of the new training for efficacy trials.

The aim of the present research was to analyze parent-child emotion talk and parent-child physical touch and their relation with children's understanding of emotions. A total of sixty¬three children (30 girls and 33 boys), aged 4 (M= 53.35 months, SD = 3.86; range = 48 - 60 months) and ö-years-old (M= 76.62 months, SD = 3.91; range = 72- 84 months) participated with both of their parents. Parent-child interviews took place in the participants' own homes. On a first visit, the mother or the father and the child completed two storytelling tasks. One of these tasks involved a storytelling task and the other involved a four events reminiscence task. Within a minimum of one day and a maximum of seven days, the other parent and the child completed the same two tasks. Parent-child emotion talk and parent-child physical touch was analyzed throughout both tasks. The findings indicated that mothers and fathers did not differ in how they talk about emotions. Indeed, mothers' and fathers' talk correlated with each other and with their children's emotion talk. However, mothers and fathers talked more about emotions with their daughters than with their sons. Parents discussed more often happiness with their daughters than with their sons. No gender or age differences were found in children's emotion talk. The analysis of parent-child touch revealed that where age differences were found, findings indicated that parent-child touch decreased as children grow older. Where parent gender differences were found, results show that mothers were more physically affectionate than are fathers. In addition, children completed twice a standardised test of emotion understanding (Test of Emotion Comprehension, TEC). On the first occasion the TEC was administered before one of the two parent-child storytelling sessions. Six months later it was administered again. Findings indicated that emotion understanding is predicted by prior emotion understanding. Above and beyond prior emotion understanding, fathers' emotion explanations during the events task predicted children's emotion understanding and mothers' use of emotion labels during the storytelling task predicted children's emotion understanding. On the contrary, parents' physical touch was not related to children's emotion understanding. Finally, children completed a test (Test of Behavioural Consequences of Emotions, TBCE) analyzing the relation between emotions and their behavioural consequences. Six-year-old children had a greater understanding that emotions influence situations than did four-year-old children. Moreover, understanding that emotions influence situations was related to mentalistic aspects of emotion understanding. The implications of these findings for future research on children's socializations of emotions are discussed.

[SDV] Life Sciences [q-bio] - Abstract
CDK8 and CDK19 form a highly conserved cyclin-dependent kinase subfamily that binds to and inhibits the essential transcription complex, Mediator, and is thought to also activate gene expression by phosphorylating the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II. Cells lacking either CDK8 or CDK19 are viable and have somewhat limited transcriptional alterations, but how they regulate expression of different genes has not been explained, and whether one of the two kinases must be expressed to allow cell differentiation is unknown. Here, we find that CDK8 and CDK19 are largely functionally redundant for tissue-specific gene expression. Genetic deletion of CDK8 in mice does not affect normal intestinal homeostasis and efficient tumourigenesis, and CDK8 is not required in vivo in cells lacking the main PolII CTD kinase, CDK7. Individual knockout of genes encoding CDK8 or CDK19 in intestinal organoids has only limited effects on gene expression due to their extensive functional redundancy in control of gene expression. Surprisingly, although their combined deletion in organoids reduces longterm proliferative capacity, it is not lethal and allows differentiation. Nevertheless, either CDK8 or CDK19 is required to maintain expression of the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane conductance Regulator (CFTR) pathway. In double mutant organoids, the CFTR pathway is downregulated, leading to mucus accumulation and increased secretion by goblet cells. Pharmacological inhibition indicates that expression and function of the CFTR pathway is dependent on CDK8/19 kinase activity. We conclude that expression of the Mediator kinases is not essential for cell proliferation and differentiation, but they cooperate to regulate tissuespecific transcriptional programmes.

- Abstract
High levels of labour productivity growth are a key element to maintaining high standards of living in the long run in Europe. However, the EU has been experiencing a significant slowdown in labour productivity and total factor productivity growth, a phenomenon which has even exacerbated over the last decade, contrary to what would be expected in the recovery from the financial crisis. The trends and driving forces of the current sluggish productivity growth in Europe are analysed in this report with a special emphasis on services. After reviewing the literature in the field, the report zooms in on the role played by factors such as structural change, intangible investments, firm size distribution, firm demography, labour dynamics, zombie firms, business cycle dynamics and public expenditure and assesses their impact on productivity growth based on a variety of data sources and methodologies. The report focusses on the main results at EU level and includes some cross-country and cross-sectoral comparisons wherever possible., JRC.B.7-Knowledge for Finance, Innovation and Growth

[EN] This project is mainly a personal reflection and a method of learning about the photographic medium; attends in various ways to concepts that have been manifesting as the project has progressed. Thinking about the relationship between human / machine (photographic) / environment, a rhizomatic influence system is articulated that establishes relationships between concepts such as: abstraction, physics, reflection / reflection, philosophy or mathematics, among others. This photographic experience has been carried out through practice; with various optical systems that alter the vision of the registered environment, and generate a semiotic code project that responds to personal concerns. This paper tests whether the job security offered by stricter employment protection legislation (EPL) undermines positive compensating wage differentials that would otherwise be paid. Specifically, we ask whether industries with relatively more need for layoffs and labour flexibility have lower wages in countries where stricter EPL protects workers from layoffs. We find this generally to be true for a large sample of industries in the major OECD countries over 1984-2005, particularly for wages of unskilled workers. However, we also find that where workers are well organised, they can take advantage of EPL to secure higher wages.

Description and demonstration of the feasibility of laparoscopic management of symptomatic pelvic lymphocele after surgical staging in gynecological cancer surgery. Step-by-step description of the surgical procedure using pictures and an educational video. Patient gave informed consent for the use of images and the full video article was approved by the Institutional Review Board of the Hospital of Sant Pau. Lymphocele is one of the most common complications of pelvic or lumbo-aortic lymphadenectomy. Although the incidence is variable at 1-58%, around 5-18% of cases are symptomatic. Only symptomatic lymphocele requires treatment, which can be medical or interventional. Drainage is usually performed by guided radiology although a surgical approach has shown a lower rate of recurrence. A 64-years-old woman diagnosed with endometrial carcinosarcoma was staged laparoscopically by pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy. Para-aortic lymphadenectomy was performed using an extraperitoneal approach. Three weeks later she presented with an intense and persistent burning pain, radiating towards the left leg. Computed tomography imaging suggested the presence of a 10x7.6 cm lymphocele adjacent to the left external iliac vessels. Laparoscopy was performed with four-port placement configuration, enabling the identification of a large, bilobed lymphocele, adjacent to the left pelvic wall and left paracolic gutter. Adhesiolysis and identification of main landmarks in the left paracolic gutter and left paravesical fossa was performed as a first step. Peritoneum of each lymphocele was opened in the caudal region and the opening was broadened to facilitate lymph drainage. Owing to the low morbidity and excellent results, we suggest that laparoscopic drainage should be performed as a feasible and useful treatment for pelvic symptomatic lymphoceles. The present End of Degree work is the result of a theoretical-practical research that deals with some concepts related to child abuse and the identity loss or the disturbance of the reality derivative from this. In this Project, I try to develop, experiment, assimilate and learn new languages towards the threated subject. It has been considered the problematical from the abuse of the power, but specifically, the child abuse. For it, I establish a relation between the body and the space with the purpose of express through images the state of mind of a person that has been abussed during his childhood and how he concives the world around him, getting as a result a photography serie fruit of the period of formation in the Fine Arts Degree.

Hartmann´s procedure is still a valid alternative in the treatment of pathologies of the left colon or rectum in patients having an ASA score IV, feculent peritonitis, malnutrition, immunosuppression or with hemodynamic instability. Hartmann´s procedure is mainly indicated in cases of high risk of anastomotic leakage, local tumor recurrence or anal incontinence. However, the factors related to the decision to restore intestinal continuity are not well established. The main objective of this study was to determine predictive factors of Hartmann´s reversal. The analysis of the morbidity of those interventions and the identification of predictive factors of intestinal transit reconstruction could ease an accurate selection of patients and give individualized preoperative counselling providing information on the most likely outcomes of the intervention. Material and methods. A retrospective observational study in which all consecutive patients that underwent Hartmann´s procedure from January 1999 to December 2014 in a tertiary University Hospital were included. No patient with a possible intestinal continuity restoration was excluded. The data collected were classified into 1) patient-specific: age, sex, body mass index, ASA score, Charlson index, anal incontinence; 2) disease-specific: type of disorder (benign vs malignant), main diagnosis, tumor stage, degree of peritoneal contamination, 3) treatment-specific: period of years of surgery, indication of Hartmann´s procedure, perioperative and postoperative transfusion, main surgical procedure, type of surgery (elective vs urgent), type of surgeon (general vs colorrectal), length of the rectal stump, Clavien-Dindo classification, readmission rate, causes of nonreversal Hartmann´s procedure. A descriptive analysis was performed. The 2 test or the Fisher exact test were used for categorical variables. Comparisons between groups were made using Mann-Whitney U test or Kruskal-Wallis test for continuous variables, where appropriate. Univariate and multivariate binary logistic regression model were used. Further, a classification and regression tree was performed. Finally, COR curves of each model were elaborated and compared with the DeLong test. Results. A total of 533 consecutive patients underwent Hartmann’s procedure. 110 (20,8%) patients underwent Hartmann´s reversal procedure. Mean age was 71,7 years. Multivariate analysis showed that the independent predictors of higher probability of intestinal transit reversal were age lower than 69 years, ASA grade I or II, indication of HP for anastomotic leak and the rectal stump above or at the sacral promontory. However, the independent factors related to a reduced probability of intestinal reconstruction following HP were anal incontinence, stage IV, postoperative transfusion or elective Hartmann's intervention. From the classification tree it is deduced that a patient below 69 years of age who presents low comorbidity, with a rectal stump at or above the promontory and that did not require perioperative transfusion would have 85% of probability of intestinal transit reconstruction. Discussion. Identification of predictive factors of intestinal continuity restoration may help surgeons to inform the patient and to choose the better option, both before performing a Hartmann procedure, and at the time of indicating reconstruction of intestinal continuity. Conclusion. Age, ASA, indication of Hartmann’s procedure, length of rectal stump, anal incontinence, tumor stage, postoperative transfusion and elective surgery can predict Hartmann’s reversal.

- Abstract
[EN] Villas para la memoria is an art project developed theoretical and practical way that deals with historical memory. Try to visualize the contemporary redoubt of an old hospital of the International Brigades as a vehicle to address broader concepts such as forgetting the past and "the marked places" as a metaphor for the invisible footprint and legacy muted. The photographic medium acts as a fundamental pillar of the project as bo th a concrete level as abstract photography is the field where solve, expose and realize these ideas. [EN] This photografic proyect originates from the need to show the explored environment of an alien culture, collecting in pictures the life experiencies as a reminder the period of my life spent in Budapest, capital of Hungary, for nine months in Erasmus stay. So, over more than one hundred pages a number of captures is presented in black and white whose frames and textures turns the everyday and banal outfiting images of a powerful poetic character, capable of dilating the present and past tense, making that unknown becoms known, maintaining its enigmatic nature, providing the viewer a point of view with wich to travel by photographs. And that's From Budapest, a travelogue, dotted with the intimacy of a diary that acts as a compilation in true analog style, creating a nostalgic atmosphere to show boulevards and bends of a rebuilt city, offering an intimate and personal perspective. By simultaneous use of documentary photography style and urban landscape takes us creating a temporary elipsis through the traces that history has left in its architecture, trying to cast in the capture of an instant, not only the image, but the cooling sensation on the skin, moisture in the air, of warmth in the spirit, a strange longing to an unknown landscape., [ES] Este proyecto fotográfico se origina en la necesidad de mostrar el entorno explorado de una cultura ajena, recogiendo en instantáneas las experiencias vivenciales a modo de recordatorio el periodo de mi vida transcurrido en Budapest, capital de Hungría, durante nueve meses en estancia Erasmus.

- Abstract
Regulations and institutional factors can determine economic performance by influencing the efficiency with which the product and labour markets operate. This paper reviews the main theoretical channels by which regulation can have an impact on economic outcomes, such as productivity, investment, innovation and employment, and examine some of the empirical relationships found in the literature. The paper highlights evidence that points to positive effects that de-regulation of the product markets have on performance, , focusing especially on the indirect effects associated with de-regulation of key services sectors. Special attention is paid to two services sectors widely sheltered from competition forces, namely professional services and the financial sector. The paper also discusses aspects of labour market regulation. It concludes that the channels underpinning associations between regulation an

[EN] A mosaic, representing a labyrinth surrounded by a wall, was found in a room that is part of the supposed public area of the city, in the Roman site of Huete (Cuenca). Although the central motif is not kept, we think that it depicted the fight between Theseus and the Minotaur, which leads us to the Cretan myth. The documented parallels of the labyrinth are, above all, from the western half of the Roman Empire, along with Cyprus, because they display a sign of the Roman Civilization, meaning the acceptance of the Roman fashions and customs. Although there are not many examples known in the Iberian Peninsula, they have been discovered in distant places, what proves the wide spreading of the motif. All of them are dated from the mid-second century to the mid-third century. The role of these mosaics was not only decorative, but its function was also to protect the building against the curses, because they symbolized the heroe fighting and defeating the evil. Nowadays the mosaic is lost, but its scarce remains were drawed in the ‘70s of the 20th century. From that document, as shown in the Figure 3, the labyrinth has been reconstructed (Figure 4) and inserted in the layout of the room where it was, simulating its original positioning. The rest of the figures show parallels for the labyrinth or the iconography of the fight between Theseus and the Minotaur on different materials (mosaic, pottery and numismatic).

This UK study examines the extent and nature of any mismatches between the training requirements of employers and the local provision of vocational education and training (VET). Companies in selected sectors (maintenance and repair of motor vehicles; telecommunications services; mechanical engineering, vehicles and other engineering; and textiles, clothing and footwear manufacture) and regions were surveyed on their training requirements. Staff in colleges and training providers in the same regions were interviewed to discuss the survey findings and to investigate the extent to which these providers are already satisfying those requirements and the nature of any constraints which may be present.

Epitaxial monoclinic double tungstate composites based on the strongly anisotropic KLu(WO
4 )2 (KLuW) were grown with high crystalline quality and laser operation of ytterbium was demonstrated for the first time. Highly efficient CW laser emission of an Yb:KLuW-KLuW crystal was achieved near 1030 nm. The 100-μm-thick Yb:KLuW layer was pumped at wavelengths near 980 nm by a tapered diode laser as well as by a Ti:sapphire laser. More than 500 mW of CW output power and slope efficiencies up to 66% were obtained at room temperature without cooling. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

- Abstract
Real GDP measured from the output side, GDP(O), should equal real GDP measured from the expenditure side, GDP(E), just as corresponding two approaches to measuring GDP in current prices are necessarily equal. But this is only the case even in theory if real value added in each industry is measured by double deflation. We set out the theory of double deflation using a matrix algebra treatment based on the framework of the Supply and Use Tables. The context is the UK’s national accounts which measures volume growth by chained Laspeyres indices and which currently use single not double deflation. Initially we use simplified assumptions about prices. Later we introduce more realistic assumptions. We analyse the conditions on prices under which real GDP(O) equals real GDP(E). We consider three alternative methods of implementing double deflation. The preferred method makes use of all the price indices which the Office for National Statistics currently collects: Producer Price Indices, Services Producer Price Indices, Consumer Price Indices, Export Price Indices and Import Price Indices. We implement a simplified version of double deflation, using the same data as in the latest vintage of the national accounts, and compare our estimates with the official ones. In this version the same price index is used for each product regardless of whether the product is an output or an input. We find that double-deflated industry growth rates are consistently lower than the official single-deflated ones and also considerably more variable year-to-year. We interpret this finding as reinforcing the case for careful selection of the set of deflators to use for double deflation.

We employ the EU KLEMS database to estimate the real rate of return to capital in 14 countries (11 in the EU, three outside the EU) in 10 branches of the market economy plus the market economy as a whole. Our measure of capital is an aggregate over seven types of asset: three ICT assets (computers, communications equipment, and software) and four non-ICT assets (machinery and equipment, nonresidential structures, transport equipment, and other). The real rate of return in the market economy does not vary very much across countries, with the exception of Spain where it is exceptionally high and in Italy where it is exceptionally low. The real rate appears to be trendless in most countries. Within each country however, the rate varies widely across the 10 branches, often being implausibly high or low. We also estimate the growth of capital services by two different methods: ex-post and exante, and the contribution of capital to output growth by three methods: ex-post, ex-ante and hybrid. Our implementation of the ex-ante method uses an estimate of the required rate of return for each country instead of the actual, average rate of return to calculate user costs and also employs the expected growth of asset prices rather than the actual growth. These estimates are derived from exactly the same data as for the ex-post method, ie without any extraneous data being employed. For estimating the contribution of capital to output growth, the ex-ante method uses ex-ante profit as the weight, while both the ex-post and the hybrid method use ex-post profit. We find that the three methods produce very similar results at the market economy level. But differences are much larger at the branch level, particularly between the ex-post and ex-ante methods.

While it is recommended that adolescents gain 8-10 hours of sleep per night, most adolescents do not sleep for the recommended amount. Poor sleep among adolescents is associated with weight gain, reduced physical activity, increased risk-taking behaviours, and increased levels of depression and anxiety, making this a significant public health concern. Current interventions targeting adolescent sleep are often reported by users as being non-interactive and do not address age-specific needs. They are also often time-consuming and lack a theoretical foundation. Innovative sleep interventions, that apply a systematic and evidence-based approach to intervention development, are needed. This PhD aimed to design, develop, and evaluate the feasibility of an evidence-theory-and-person-based digital intervention targeted at adolescents, using the Person-Based Approach (PBA) to intervention development. This was achieved by conducting the following studies: Study 1: involved the development of an evidenced-based digital (website) prototype intervention (SleepWise). A scoping review was conducted to identify effective intervention ingredients, which were then mapped to key features of the intervention (guiding principles). From this, causal and logic models were developed, bringing together evidence-based barriers and facilitators and the necessary intervention components. Study 2: involved the optimisation of the prototype intervention, to ensure that it was as feasible and acceptable as possible. Think-aloud interviews were undertaken with adolescents to explore perceptions of the prototype intervention. Participant feedback provided insight into the likely intervention implementation and identified features of relevance, or influence, on participant engagement. Study 3: involved two 2-arm randomised controlled trials to test the feasibility of the optimised intervention. A process evaluation was carried out to investigate usage with and feedback about the intervention. This PhD highlights the utility of the PBA to intervention development, and demonstrates that SleepWise is a feasible digital intervention to target adolescent sleep, and a pragmatic solution to an important public health issue.

- Abstract
Background: Adolescents are advised to sleep 8-10 hours per night; however, most do not sleep for this recommended amount. Poor adolescent sleep is associated with detrimental health outcomes, including reduced physical activity, risk-taking behaviors, and increased depression and anxiety levels, making this an important public health concern. Existing interventions targeting adolescent sleep are often unsuccessful or their effectiveness unclear, as they are frequently noninteractive, time-consuming, and lack a strong theoretical foundation; highlighting an urgent need for innovative interventions deemed acceptable by adolescents., Objective: The main objective of this study was to determine the acceptability, feasibility, and preliminary impact of a web-based person-based sleep intervention (SleepWise) on adolescent sleep quality. Participant incentivization was also explored to understand its impact on engagement, acceptability, and sleep quality., Methods: A feasibility trial was conducted to test the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary impact of SleepWise on adolescent sleep quality, developed based on the person-based approach to intervention development. In total, 90 participants (aged 13-17 years) from further education institutions and secondary schools were recruited for two 2-arm randomized controlled trials. One trial (trial 1) was incentivized to understand the impact of incentivization. Acceptability and sleep quality were assessed via questionnaires, and a mixed methods process evaluation was undertaken to assess participant engagement and experience with SleepWise. Engagement was automatically tracked by SleepWise, which collected data on the date and time, pages viewed, and the number of goals and sleep logs completed per participant. Semistructured interviews were carried out to gain participant feedback., Results: Participants in both trials reported high levels of acceptability (trial 1: mean 21.00, SD 2.74; trial 2: mean 20.82, SD 2.48) and demonstrated similar levels of engagement with SleepWise. Participants in trial 1 viewed slightly more pages of the intervention, and those in trial 2 achieved their set goals more frequently. Improvements in sleep quality were found in both trials 1 and 2, with medium (trial 1) and large (trial 2) effect sizes. A larger effect size for improvement in sleep quality was found in the nonincentivized trial (d=0.87), suggesting that incentivization may not impact engagement or sleep quality. Both trials achieved acceptable recruitment (trial 1, N=48; trial 2, N=42), and retention at 5 weeks (trial 1: N=30; trial 2: N=30). Qualitative findings showed that adolescents lead busy lifestyles, which may hinder engagement; however, participants deemed SleepWise acceptable in length and content, and made attempts at behavior change., Conclusions: SleepWise is an acceptable and potentially efficacious web-based sleep intervention aimed at adolescents. Findings from this study showed that incentivization did not greatly impact engagement, acceptability, or sleep quality. Subject to a full trial, SleepWise has the potential to address the urgent need for innovative, personalized, and acceptable sleep interventions for adolescents., Trial Registration: OSF Registries osf.io/yanb2; https://osf.io/yanb2., (©Shokraneh Moghadam, Margaret Husted, Ana Aznar, Debra Gray. - Abstract
Background: More than half of women with psychosis take care of their children despite the difficulties caused by the disease. Additionally, these kids have a higher risk of developing a mental health disorder. However, no interventions have been developed to meet these needs. Metacognitive Training (MCT) is a psychological intervention that has demonstrated its efficacy in improving cognitive insight, symptom management and social cognition in people with first-episode psychosis (FEP). Additionally, MCT has shown better results in women than men with FEP. This study aims to adapt and evaluate the efficacy of MCT-F in mothers and adolescent children in an online group context with the main purpose of improving family relationships, cognitive awareness and symptoms in women with psychosis and increase their children's knowledge of the disease and their functioning. As secondary objectives, it also aims to evaluate improvements in metacognition, social cognition, symptoms, protective factors and self-perception of stigma., Materials and Methods: A quasi-experimental design with participants acting as their own control will be carried out. Forty-eight mothers with psychosis and their adolescent children (between 12 and 20 years old) recruited from a total of 11 adult mental health care centers will receive MCT-F. Participants will be evaluated 11 weeks before the intervention (T1), at baseline (T2), and post-intervention (T3) with a cognitive insight scale, as a primary outcome. Measures of metacognitive and social cognition, symptoms, cognitive functioning, family and social functioning, protective factors (self-esteem, resilience, and coping strategies) and self-perceived stigma will be addressed as secondary outcomes. Assessment will also address trauma and attachment in mothers and, lastly, the feasibility and acceptability of MCT-F in both participant groups., Discussion: This will be the first investigation of the efficacy, acceptability, and viability of the implementation of MCT-F. The results of this study may have clinical implications, contributing to improving mothers' with psychosis and adolescents' functioning and better understanding of the disease, in addition to the possible protective and preventive effect in adolescents, who are known to be at higher risk of developing severe mental disorders.
