I finalment, s’ha estudiat el comportament de les microcàpsules formades en afegir el Quitosà, un polisacàrid natural, biocompatible, no tòxic i amb alta estabilitat, utilitzant els mateixos mètodes per verificar l’eficacia d’aquest., Microencapsulation is a developing method as well as a versatile and innovative technique that can be used in many fields. This project is based on studying the first stage of microencapsulation, analyzing the parameters that form it; Critical micelle concentration, zeta potential and particle diameter. To do this, different surfactants have been used; SDS, E1459, Tween 20, Tween 80 and Span 40, and to make the study more complete, a specific fragrance, Blue power, has been microencapsulated and chitosan has been used to stabilize the formed microcapsule. Microencapsulation is a complex process, especially in the first stage, as many chemical compounds are involved, many of which are not known for their nature or behavior. It is based on trial and error to carry it out, that is why this project has been made, to establish parameters of the behavior of surfactants, and that it is not necessary to use trial and error to find the optimal conditions. We started by studying the behavior of surfactants alone, to find the minimum necessary concentration for the spontaneous formation of micelles (CMC) and the stability of these with the size of the particle and the zeta potential. Then, in order to observe if in forming a microcapsule these parameters continue to be the same, the fragrance has been incorporated and the previously mentioned parameters have been re-studied to check if the microcapsules were forming correctly. Finally, the behavior of the formed microcapsules has been studied when chitosan, a natural, biocompatible, non-toxic and highly stable polysaccharide, has been added using the same methods to verify its effectiveness.
