Interest on the potential CO2 sequestration of marine bivalve aquaculture has increased during the last decade. However, there is still some controversy about which biological processes are involved and how to estimate their contribution to the carbon footprint of bivalve aquaculture. This work considers the dissolved inorganic carbon, CO2 and alkalinity fluxes linked to flesh and shell growth, calcification, respiration, faeces egestion, and ammonia excretion, accounting also for the RDOC production associated to these processes. We have developed an algorithm for a dynamic estimation of these fluxes based on a net production DEB growth model for mussels. The resulting model has been implemented in Python to create a toolbox with a graphical user interface. This toolbox allows the selection of different culture strategies, in terms of seeding date, seed size and culture length, and consequently analyzes the carbon footprint and impact on the carbonate chemistry of seawater of aquaculture management

Este trabajo presenta Aquasost 4.0, sistema de información diseñado con el objetivo de dar respuesta al Reto 1 del proyecto Innovaugas 4.0 promovido por Augas de Galicia: mejorar la gestión integral de la cuenca hidrográfica Galicia Costa. Esta gestión integral es clave para asegurar el cumplimiento de los objetivos medioambientales para sus masas de agua (OMAS) y, en consecuencia, de la Directiva Marco del Agua (DMA). Para ello, Aquasost 4.0 funcionará como un sistema de ayuda a la decisión realizando el análisis inteligente de toda la información recopilada desde las diferentes fuentes de datos disponibles. El resultado es una plataforma formada por cinco módulos (Presión e Impacto, Caracterización Hidromorfológica, Cianobacterias, Datahub y Calidad) donde Augas de Galicia, entidad gestora de la Demarcación, podrá obtener aquella información clave para alcanzar el objetivo establecido.

215 p., En la presente Tesis Doctoral hemos pretendido profundizar en el conocimiento sobre el comportamiento de los últimos neandertales del Sudoeste Europeo como depredadores. Para ello, hemos realizado un análisis tafonómico y zooarqueológico de los conjuntos faunísticos de Jarama VI y Arrillor, así como del conjunto de restos avianos de Pié Lombard. Además, para entender mejor la acción humana sobre carcasas de ave, realizamos un experimento previo de consumo sobre huesos largos avianos.Las sociedades neandertales de los yacimientos de Jarama VI y Arrillor se capturaron preferentemente ungulados de bosque, recurriendo estacionalmente a los de pradera y, por último, a los de roquedo. El poblamiento humano de estos sitios se articuló de diferentes formas a lo largo del tiempo, permitiendo a los humanos explotar el medio circundante durante varias estaciones o bien emplear los abrigos como refugios puntuales de las partidas de caza.Por otro lado, el conjunto aviano de Pié Lombard es un depósito mixto fruto de la depredación de aves rapaces, pequeños carnívoros y neandertales. Tanto arqueológica como experimentalmente, demostramos que los procesos de consumo humano de pequeñas presas generan otro tipo de alteraciones sobre los restos distintas a las halladas sobre animales más grandes.En definitiva, planteamos que las comunidades neandertales tuvieron una economía de amplio espectro, diversificando tácticas cinegéticas y biotopos explotados a lo largo del tiempo por cuestiones ecológicas, sociales y culturales.

Continuity of care requires the exchange of health information among organizations and care teams. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) establishes that subject of care should give explicit consent to the treatment of her personal data, and organizations must obey the individual’s will. Nevertheless, few solutions focus on guaranteeing the proper execution of consents. We propose a serviceoriented architecture, backed by blockchain technology, that enables: (1) tamper-proof and immutable storage of subject of care consents; (2) a fine-grained access control for protecting health data according to consents; and (3) auditing tasks for supervisory authorities (or subjects of care themselves) to assess that healthcare organizations comply with GDPR and granted consents. Standards for health information exchange and access control are adopted to guarantee interoperability. Access control events and the subject of care consents are maintained on a blockchain, providing a trusted collaboration between organizations, supervisory authorities, and individuals. A prototype of the architecture has been implemented as a proof of concept to evaluate the performance of critical components. The application of subject of care consent to control the treatment of personal health data in federated and distributed environments is a pressing concern. The experimental results show that blockchain can effectively support sharing consent and audit events among healthcare organizations, supervisory authorities, and individuals.

This dataset contains a set of anonymized and labeled HTTP requests (selected fields) from the logs of a real-in-production web server at the library of the University of Seville during 6.5 months in 2017. The complexity and diversity of the technologies involved in the Internet of Things (IoT) challenge the generalization of security solutions based on anomaly detection, which should fit the particularities of each context and deployment and allow for performance comparison. In this work, we provide a flexible architecture based on building blocks suited for detecting anomalies in the network traffic and the application-layer data exchanged by IoT devices in the context of Smart Home. Following this architecture, we have defined a particular Intrusion Detector System (IDS) for a case study that uses a public dataset with the electrical consumption of 21 home devices over one year. In particular, we have defined ten Indicators of Compromise (IoC) to detect network attacks and two anomaly detectors to detect false command or data injection attacks. We have also included a signature-based IDS (Snort) to extend the detection range to known attacks. We have reproduced eight network attacks (e.g., DoS, scanning) and four False Command or Data Injection attacks to test our IDS performance. The results show that all attacks were successfully detected by our IoCs and anomaly detectors with a false positive rate lower than 0.3%. Signature detection was able to detect only 4 out of 12 attacks. Our architecture and the IDS developed can be a reference for developing future IDS suited to different contexts or use cases. Given that we use a public dataset, our contribution can also serve as a baseline for comparison with new techniques that improve detection performance.

Voice over IP (VoIP) requires a Call Admission Control (CAC) mechanism in WiFi networks to preserve VoIP packet flows from excessive network delay or packet loss. Ideally, this mechanism should be integrated with the operational scenario, guarantee the quality of service of active calls, and maximize the number of concurrent calls. This paper presents a novel CAC scheme for VoIP in the context of a WiFi access network deployed with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) that relay to a backhaul 5G network. Our system, named Codec-Optimization CAC (CO-CAC), is integrated into each drone. It intercepts VoIP call control messages and decides on the admission of every new call based on a prediction of the WiFi network’s congestion level and the minimum quality of service desired for VoIP calls. To maximize the number of concurrent calls, CO-CAC proactively optimizes the codec settings of active calls by exchanging signaling with VoIP users. We have simulated CO-CAC in a 50 m 50 m scenario with four UAVs providing VoIP service to up to 200 ground users with IEEE 802.11ac WiFi terminals. Our results show that without CAC, the number of calls that did not meet a minimum quality level during the simulation was 10% and 90%, for 50 and 200 users, respectively. However, when CO-CAC was in place, all calls achieved minimum quality for up to 90 users without rejecting any call. For 200 users, only 25% of call attempts were rejected by the admission control scheme. These results were narrowly worse when the ground users moved randomly in the scenario.

[EN] Tape cast Li2ZrO3 thin sheets were successfully made from aqueous suspensions with 30 vol% solid loading, using 0.5 wt% of ammonium polyacrylate and 0.2 wt% of tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide as organic stabilizers. The addition of 15 wt% of acrylic binder emulsion into the slip enabled to cast green tapes with suitable strength and plasticity for their easy folding. Zeta potential and rheological flow curves were analyzed to optimize the slip stability and composition, and the thermal behavior, phase composition and microstructure of the tapes were evaluated. After sintering at 1200 °C/15 h, tapes reached bulk densities close to 81% vs TD and exhibited a smooth flawless surface. SEM images showed an average particle size of 6.2 µm, and the XRD phase analysis revealed monoclinic Li2ZrO3 and only 6% of ZrO2. Overall, this detailed work will be relevant for further research on the manufacture of solid-state electrolytes based on Li2ZrO3 tapes.

Breast milk is a complex and dynamic fluid needed for infant development and protection due to its content of bioactive factors such as immunoglobulins (Igs). Most studies focus primarily on IgA, but other types of Ig and even other immune components (cytokines and adipokines) may also play significant roles in neonatal health. As a first step, we aimed to characterize the Ig profile, many cytokines, and two adipokines (leptin and adiponectin) at two sampling time points within the transitional stage, which is the least studied phase in terms of these components. The secondary objective was to identify different breast milk immunotypes in the MAMI cohort substudy, and finally, we further aimed at analyzing maternal and infant characteristics to identify influencing factors of breast milk immune composition.
