Materials such as ternary MIMIIIE2 (where MI = Ag, Cu; MIII = In, Fe; E = S, Se) chalcopyrite-type nanocrystals have garnered interest recently because of their size- and composition-tunable electronic and optical properties. However, controlling the composition of multinary compounds is challenging due to the difference in reactivity of the involved components. Metal–organic precursors usually provide better control over stoichiometry due to preformed bonds. Herein, we have synthesized suitable sulfur-based (dihexyldithiocarbamato) and selenium-based (tetradiphenylimidodiselnodiphosphanate) metal-organic precursors of iron for the preparation of phase pure ternary CuFeS2 and CuFeSe2 nanocrystals, via hot injection route using oleylamine as solvent, decomposition initiator and capping agent. The nanomaterials were characterized by powder-X-ray diffraction (p-XRD), high resolution-transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), TEM, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) analysis. The effect of temperature on synthesized nanoparticles was also investigated, showing that the size and morphology change from particles to sheet-like structures. The band gap of synthesized nanomaterials also showed variation along with the temperature change. Cellulose is the natural biopolymer normally used as supporting agent with enhanced applicability and properties. In present study, cellulose isolated from citrus waste is used for silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) impregnation by a simple and reproducible method. The Ag-NPs fabricated cellulose (Ag-Cel) was characterised by powder X-rays diffraction, Fortier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The thermal stability was studied by thermo-gravimetric analysis. The antibacterial activity performed by disc diffusion assay reveals good zone of inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli by Ag-Cel as compared Ag-NPs. The discs also displayed more than 90% reduction of S. aureus culture in broth within 150 min. The Ag-Cel discs also demonstrated minor 2,2-diphenyl 1-picryl-hydrazyl radical scavenging activity and total reducing power ability while moderate total antioxidant potential was observed. Ag-Cel effectively degrades methylene-blue dye up to 63.16% under sunlight irradiation in limited exposure time of 60 min. The Ag-NPs impregnated cellulose can be effectively used in wound dressing to prevent bacterial attack and scavenger of free radicals at wound site, and also as filters for bioremediation and wastewater purification. A convenient, cost effective and environmentally benign methodology has been developed, which delivered fourteen new 1-acyl-4-benzhyrdyl substituted pyrazole derivatives under solvent free conditions. Target compounds were synthesized in good to excellent yields simply by grinding reactants in a pestle and mortar with catalytic amount of conc. H2SO4. A new series of compounds derived from thiophene-2-carboxamide were synthesized and characterized by IR,1H-NMR and13C-NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. These compounds were further used to prepare their Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal complexes. All metal(II) complexes were air and moisture stable. Physical, spectral and analytical data have shown the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes to exhibit distorted square-planar and Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes tetrahedral geometries. The ligand (L1) and its Cu(II) complex were characterized by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. All the ligands and their metal(II) complexes were screened for theirin-vitroantimicrobial activity. The antibacterial and antifungal bioactivity data showed that the metal(II) complexes were found to be more potent than the parent ligands against one or more bacterial and fungal strains. A series of three bioactive thiourea (carboxamide) derivatives, N-(dipropylcarbamothioyl)-thiophene-2-carboxamide (L1), N-(dipropylcarbamothioyl)-5-methylthiophene-2-carboxamide (L2) and 5-bromo-N-(dipropylcarbamothioyl)furan-2-carboxamide (L3) and their cobalt(II), copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes ( 1)-(12) have been synthesized and characterized by their IR,1H-NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis data. The Crystal structure of one of the ligand, N-(dipropylcarbamothioyl)thiophene-2-carboxamide (L1) and its nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes were determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. All the ligands and metal(II) complexes have been subjected to in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity against six bacterial species ( Escherichia coli. Shigella flexneri. Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Salmonella typhi. Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis) and for antifungal activity against six fungal strains ( Trichophyton longifusus. Candida albicans. Aspergillus flavus. Microsporum canis. Fusarium solani and Candida glabrata). The in vitro antibacterial and antifungal bioactivity data showed the metal(II) complexes to be more potent than the parent ligands against one or more bacterial and fungal strains. At the ultrathin scale, nanomaterials exhibit interesting chemical and physical properties, like flexibility, and polymer-like rheology. However, to limit the dimensions of composite nanomaterials at the ultrathin level is still a challenging task. Herein, by adopting a new low temperature single step and single pot wet chemical approach, we have successfully fabricated two dimensional (2D) mixed oxide ZnO-Fe 2 O 3 dendritic nanosheets (FZDNSs). Various control experimental outcomes demonstrate that precursor salts of both the metals are crucial for the formation of stable 2D FZDNSs. The obtained FZDNSs not only exhibit the best photoreduction performance but also much enhanced electrocatalytic performance. In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(16)H(13)FO(2), the aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 74.46 (4)°. The heterocyclic ring adopts a twisted conformation. In the crystal structure, there is a weak C-H⋯π inter-action.

The title compound, C(18)H(19)N(3)O(3), is a biologically active triazole derivative. The five-membered ring is oriented with respect to the six-membered rings at dihedral angles of 51.59 (4) and 61.37 (4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions between centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules [the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 47.44 (5)°].

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(19)N(3)O(3), contains two crystallographically independent but similar mol-ecules. The triazole ring is oriented with respect to the benzene rings to form dihedral angles of 57.96 (6) and 7.01 (6)° in one mol-ecule, and 64.37 (5) and 10.73 (5)° in the other. The two independent mol-ecules are linked into a dimer by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(17)H(17)N(3)O(3), the triazole ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 88.09 (3) and 83.72 (3)° with respect to the 2-methoxy-benzyl and 2-methoxy-phenyl rings, respectively. The dihedral angle between the 2-methoxy-benzyl and 2-methoxy-phenyl rings is 52.95 (3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. There is a π-π contact between the 2-methoxy-phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.811 (3) Å].

The title complex, [Cu(4)(C(5)H(12)NO)(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(6)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)](n), consists of dinuclear [Cu(2)(C(5)H(12)NO)(2)(THF)(2)] (THF is tetra-hydro-furan) and [Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(4)] units linked through acetate ions, generating parallel one-dimensional polymeric chains propagating in the [10] direction. In the first dinuclear unit, Cu(II) ions related by inversion symmetry are bridged by two 3-(dimethyl-amino)propan-1-olate ligands. Likewise, a pair of inversion-related Cu(II) ions are bridged by four acetate groups. The crystallographically independent Cu centers are linked to one another by a single bridging acetate group, generating an infinite chain. The distorted square-pyramidal coordination of the first metal center is completed with an apical THF mol-ecule, with a long Cu-O bond length of 2.476 (5) Å. The geometry around the other metal atom is close to octa-hedral, and the Cu⋯Cu separation in this unit is 2.652 (1) Å. The distance between the metal centers in the first dinuclear unit is considerably longer [3.068 (1) Å], suggesting little or no bonding inter-action. The Cu⋯Cu separation between two acetate-bridged independent Cu centers is 4.860 (2) Å. The THF mol-ecule has methyl-ene groups disordered over two positions, with occupancies of 0.608 (13) and 0.392 (13).
