Water droplet freezing is a common phenomenon in our daily life. In both natural scenarios and industrial production, different surface inclinations bring distinctive deformation and freezing dynamics to frozen droplets. We explore the freezing of pendent and sessile droplets at different Bond number regimes. The effect of gravity on the droplet freezing process is analyzed by considering droplet morphology, freezing front dynamics, and freezing time. It is found that gravity can significantly influence droplet freezing processes via shaping the initial droplet, resulting in the flattening or elongation of pendent and sessile droplets, respectively. We show that the droplet initial geometry is the most important parameter and it completely controls the droplet freezing. Despite the significant difference in the initial droplet shape several remarkable similarities have been found for pendent and sessile droplets at small and large Bond numbers. The final height of a frozen droplet is found to be linearly proportional to its initial height. The time evolution of the ice-liquid-air contact line is found to reproduce the power-law $t^{0.5}$, but noticeably faster than the Stefan 1-D icing front propagation. As a consequence, the time to freeze a droplet is faster than predicted by the Stefan model and it is found to be dependent on the initial droplet height and base radius through a simple power-law.

We study the quantum coherence in de Sitter space for the bipartite system of Alice and Bob who initially share an entangled state between the two modes of a free massive scalar field. It is shown that the space-curvature effect can produce both local coherence and correlated coherence, leading to the increase of the total coherence of the bipartite system. These results are sharp different from the Unruh effect or Hawking effect, which, in the single mode approximation, cannot produce local coherence and at the same time destroy correlated coherence, leading to the decrease of the total coherence of the bipartite systems. Interestingly, we find that quantum coherence has the opposite behavior compared with the quantum correlation in de Sitter space. We also find that quantum coherence is most severely affected by the curvature effect of de Sitter space for the cases of conformal invariance and masslessness. Our result reveals the difference between the curvature effect in the de Sitter space and the Unruh effect in Rindler spacetime or the Hawking effect in black hole spacetime on quantum coherence., Comment: 24 pages, 5 figures

We study the acceleration effect on the genuine tripartite entanglement for one or two accelerated detector(s) coupled to the vacuum field. Surprisingly, we findthatthe increase anddecrease in entanglement have no definite correspondence with the Unruh and anti-Unruh effects. Specifically, Unruh effect can not only decrease but also enhance the tripartite entanglement between detectors; also, anti-Unruh effect can not only enhance but also decrease the tripartite entanglement. We use the quantumcorrelation of both logarithmic negativity andmutual information between a qubit and a relativistic boson to analyze the dynamics of Universe expansion. These dynamical quantum correlations can encode the information about underlying spacetime structure, which suggests a promising application in observational cosmology. We find that the dynamics of both logarithmic negativity and mutual information between the qubit and the boson are very similar. They decrease monotonically with the growth of the expansion volume and the expansion rate. Smaller momentum and medium-sized mass of boson are more favourable for extracting the information about history of Universe expansion. The quantum correlation between the qubit and the antiboson however has very different behavior: the logarithmic negativity is always zero and the mutual information can be generated through the expansion of Universe. Smaller momentum and medium-sized mass of antiboson are beneficial for the production of mutual information. With the complexity of information tasks, the bipartite and tripartite entanglement can no longer meet our needs, and we need more entangled particles to process relativistic quantum information. In this paper, we study the genuine N-partite entanglement and distributed relationships for Dirac fields in the background of dilaton black holes. We present the general analytical expression including all physically accessible and inaccessible entanglement in curved spacetime. We find that the accessible N-partite entanglement exhibits irreversible decoherence as the increase of black hole's dilaton, and on the other hand the inaccessible N-partite entanglement increases from zero monotonically or non-monotonically, depending on the relative numbers of the accessible to the inaccessible modes, which forms a sharp contrast with the cases of bipartite and tripartite entanglement where the inaccessible entanglement increase only monotonically. We also find two distributed relationships between accessible and inaccessible N-partite entanglement in curved spacetime. Realizing van der Waals (vdW) epitaxy in the 80s represents a breakthrough that circumvents the stringent lattice matching and processing compatibility requirements in conventional covalent heteroepitaxy. However, due to the weak vdW interactions, there is little control over film qualities by the substrate. Typically, discrete domains with a spread of misorientation angles are formed, limiting the applicability of vdW epitaxy. Here we report the epitaxial growth of monocrystalline, covalent Cr5Te8 2D crystals on monolayer vdW WSe2 by chemical vapor deposition, driven by interfacial dative bond formation. The lattice of Cr5Te8, with a lateral dimension of a few ten microns, is fully commensurate with that of WSe2 via 3 x 3 (Cr5Te8)-7 x 7 (WSe2) supercell matching, forming a single crystalline moire superlattice. Our work has established a conceptually distinct paradigm of thin film epitaxy termed dative epitaxy, which takes full advantage of covalent epitaxy with chemical bonding for fixing the atomic registry and crystal orientation, while circumventing its stringent lattice matching and processing compatibility requirements; conversely, it ensures the full flexibility of vdW epitaxy, while avoiding its poor orientation control. Cr5Te8 2D crystals grown by dative epitaxy exhibit square magnetic hysteresis, suggesting minimized interfacial defects that can serve as pinning sites.

Human affective behavior analysis has received much attention in human-computer interaction (HCI). In this paper, we introduce our submission to the CVPR 2022 Competition on Affective Behavior Analysis in-the-wild (ABAW). To fully exploit affective knowledge from multiple views, we utilize the multimodal features of spoken words, speech prosody, and facial expression, which are extracted from the video clips in the Aff-Wild2 dataset. Based on these features, we propose a unified transformer-based multimodal framework for Action Unit detection and also expression recognition. Specifically, the static vision feature is first encoded from the current frame image. At the same time, we clip its adjacent frames by a sliding window and extract three kinds of multimodal features from the sequence of images, audio, and text. Then, we introduce a transformer-based fusion module that integrates the static vision features and the dynamic multimodal features. The cross-attention module in the fusion module makes the output integrated features focus on the crucial parts that facilitate the downstream detection tasks. We also leverage some data balancing techniques, data augmentation techniques, and postprocessing methods to further improve the model performance. In the official test of ABAW3 Competition, our model ranks first in the EXPR and AU tracks. The extensive quantitative evaluations, as well as ablation studies on the Aff-Wild2 dataset, prove the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Demonstrating highly efficient alternating current (AC) magnetic field heating of nanoparticles in physiological environments under clinically safe field parameters has remained a great challenge, hindering clinical applications of magnetic hyperthermia. In this work, we report exceptionally high loss power of magnetic bone cement under clinical safety limit of AC field parameters, incorporating DC field-aligned soft magnetic Zn0.3Fe2.7O4 nanoparticles with low concentration. Under an AC field of 4 kA/m at 430 kHz, the aligned bone cement with 0.2 wt% nanoparticles achieved a temperature increase of 30 C in 180 s. This amounts to a specific loss power value of 327 W/gmetal and an intrinsic loss power of 47 nHm^2/kg, which is enhanced by 50-fold compared to randomly oriented samples. The high-performance magnetic bone cement allows for the demonstration of effective hyperthermia suppression of tumor growth in the bone marrow cavity of New Zealand White Rabbits subjecting to rapid cooling due to blood circulation, and significant enhancement of survival rate.

We study the Schwinger effect of Gaussian correlations (quantum entanglement, discord and mutual information) of the continuous-variable two-mode squeezed states shared by Alice and Bob, paying special attention to the difference of the Schwinger effect of correlations between modes of fermion-fermion and qubit-bosonic fields studied previously. We also study the redistribution and conservativeness of the correlations under the Schwinger effect.

We study the genuine tripartite nonlocality (GTN) and the genuine tripartite entanglement (GTE) of Dirac fields in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole. We find that the Hawking radiation degrades both the physically accessible GTN and the physically accessible GTE. The former suffers from "sudden death" at some critical Hawking temperature, and the latter approaches to the nonzero asymptotic value in the limit of infinite Hawking temperature. We also find that the Hawking effect cannot generate the physically inaccessible GTN, but can generate the physically inaccessible GTE for fermion fields in curved spacetime. These results show that on the one hand the GTN cannot pass through the event horizon of black hole, but the GTE do can, and on the other hand the surviving physically accessible GTE and the generated physically inaccessible GTE for fermions in curved spacetime are all not nonlocal. Some monogamy relations between the physically accessible GTE and the physically inaccessible GTE are found.

We study the quantum coherence and its distribution of N-partite GHZ and W states of bosonic fields in the noninertial frames with arbitrary number of acceleration observers. We find that the coherence of both GHZ and W state reduces with accelerations and freezes in the limit of infinite accelerations. The freezing value of coherence depends on the number of accelerated observers. The coherence of N-partite GHZ state is genuinely global and no coherence exists in any subsystems. For the N-partite W state, however, the coherence is essentially bipartite types, and the total coherence is equal to the sum of coherence of all the bipartite subsystems.

Magnetotransport in arrays of monodisperse magnetite nanoparticles has been studied as a function of annealing temperatures. Charge transport mechanisms change from thermally assisted interparticle tunneling to hopping between Fe-sites within the particle as the interparticle spacing is decreased. Despite this difference, magnetoresistance (MR) as a function of field shows a ubiquitous behavior dominated by non-collinear surface spins. All MR as a function of field can be fitted accurately by a Langevin-like function.

Understanding the growth mechanisms of two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures is of great importance in exploring their functionalities and device applications. A custom-built system integrating physical vapor deposition and optical microscopy/Raman spectroscopy was employed to study the dynamic growth processes of 2D vdW heterostructures in situ. This allows us to identify a new growth mode with a distinctly different growth rate and morphology from those of the conventional linear growth mode. We propose a model that explains the difference in morphologies and quantifies the growth rates of the two modes by taking the role of surface diffusion into account. We have systematically investigated a range of material combinations including CdI2/WS2, CdI2/MoS2, CdI2/WSe2, PbI2/WS2, PbI2/MoS2, PbI2/WSe2 and Bi2Se3/WS2. These findings may be generalized to the synthesis of many other 2D heterostructures with controlled morphologies and physical properties, benefiting future device applications.

In this paper, we investigate the online parcel assignment (OPA) problem, in which each stochastically generated parcel needs to be assigned to a candidate route for delivery to minimize the total cost subject to certain business constraints. The OPA problem is challenging due to its stochastic nature: each parcel's candidate routes, which depends on the parcel's origin, destination, weight, etc., are unknown until its order is placed, and the total parcel volume is uncertain in advance. To tackle this challenge, we propose the PPO-OPA algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning that shows competitive performance. More specifically, we introduce a novel Markov Decision Process (MDP) framework to model the OPA problem, and develop a policy gradient algorithm that adopts attention networks for policy evaluation. By designing a dedicated reward function, our proposed algorithm can achieve a lower total cost with smaller violation of constraints, comparing to the traditional method which assigns parcels to candidate routes proportionally. In addition, the performances of our proposed algorithm and the Primal-Dual algorithm are comparable, while the later assumes a known total parcel volume in advance, which is unrealistic in practice., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables

We report precise TCAD simulations of IHEP-IME-v1 Low Gain Avalanche Diode (LGAD) calibrated by secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS). Our setup allows us to evaluate the leakage current, capacitance, and breakdown voltage of LGAD, which agree with measurements' results before irradiation. And we propose an improved LGAD Radiation Damage Model (LRDM) which combines local acceptor removal with global deep energy levels. The LRDM is applied to the IHEP-IME-v1 LGAD and able to predict the leakage current well at -30 $^{\circ}$C after an irradiation fluence of $ \Phi_{eq}=2.5 \times 10^{15} ~n_{eq}/cm^{2}$. The charge collection efficiency (CCE) is under development.
