Background: While single-method studies have reported on the effectiveness of simulated interprofessional teaching, our understanding of its full effects remains incomplete. Teaching design also provides no relevant theoretical guidance, which reduces the scientific quality and rigor of research. The purpose of this work was to study the effects of the simulated interprofessional education (SIPE) teaching model based on the 3P theory on the course of "Clinical Critical Thinking Training" through a convergent mixed method, and to provide the basis for future teaching design. Methods: A convergent mixed-method design was used, which consisted of a survey and a semi-structured interview. Data collection took place from September 2021 to July 2022. A cluster sampling method was used to select 60 full-time nursing students from a school in China, and randomly divide them into a control group of 36 and an experimental group of 24. According to the principle of voluntary participation, 6 students majoring in clinical medicine and 6 students majoring in pharmacy were recruited to join the experimental group to form an interprofessional team. The students studied "Clinical Critical Thinking Training" together, in which the control group used traditional simulation teaching and the experimental group used SIPE. The CCTDI (California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory) and AITCS-II Student (Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration in Student Learning Scale) were used for quantitative evaluation before and after the course, and descriptive statistics and Mann–Whitney U test were used to compare the critical thinking and interprofessional collaboration skills of the two groups of students. Semi-structured interviews were used for qualitative evaluation. Thematic analysis was used to understand student development on the basis of inter-professional core competencies and learning experience. Results: The students' interprofessional cooperation abilities and critical thinking scores improved compared with the beginning of the course, but the scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than the control group (p < 0.05). Three themes emerged regarding simulated interprofessional teaching: clarifying team positioning, improving team efficiency, and optimizing the learning experience. Many surveillance systems of infectious diseases are syndrome-based, capturing patients by clinical manifestation. Only a fraction of patients, mostly severe cases, undergo laboratory validation to identify the underlying pathogen. Motivated by the need to understand transmission dynamics and associate risk factors of enteroviruses causing the hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in China, we developed a Bayesian spatio-temporal modeling framework for surveillance data of infectious diseases with small validation sets. A novel approach was proposed to sample unobserved pathogen-specific patient counts over space and time and was compared to an existing sampling approach. The practical utility of this framework in identifying key parameters was assessed in simulations for a range of realistic sizes of the validation set. Several designs of sampling patients for laboratory validation were compared with and without aggregation of sparse validation data. Objective: Assessing the patient safety culture is necessary for improving patient safety. Research on patient safety culture has attracted considerable attention. Currently, there is little research on patient safety culture in China generally, and in Heilongjiang in northern China specifically. The aim of the study is to explore the perception of healthcare employees about patient safety culture and to determine whether perception differs per sex, age, profession, years of experience, education level and marital status.Design: Cross-sectional study.Setting: Thirteen tertiary hospitals in Heilongjiang, northern China.Participants: About 1024 healthcare employees.Main Outcome Measure: The perception of healthcare employees was measured using the safety attitude questionnaire, which include six dimensions. Higher scores represented more positive attitudes. An analysis of variance was used to compare socio-demographic differences per position, marital status and education; t-tests were used for sex, age and experience.Results: A total of 1024 (85.33%) valid questionnaires were returned. The mean score of the six dimensions was 73.74/100; work conditions (80.19) had the highest score of all the dimensions, and safety climate (70.48) had the lowest. Across distinct dimensions, there were significant differences in perceptions of patient safety culture per sex, age, years of experience, position, marital status and education level (P < 0.05).Conclusions: The findings can help in assessing perceived patient safety culture among healthcare employees and identifying dimensions that require improvement. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify risk factors of physical violence in Chinese township hospitals. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was used in a sample of 442 general practitioners and 398 general nurses from 90 township hospitals located in Heilongjiang province, China (response rate = 84.8%). Results: A total of 106 of the 840 (12.6%) respondents reported being physically attacked in their workplace in the previous 12 months. Most perpetrators were the patients’ relatives (62.3%), followed by the patient (22.6%); 73.6% of perpetrators were aged between 20 and 40 years. Of the physical violence incidents, about 56.6% (n = 60) resulted in a physical injury, and 45.4% of respondents took two or three days of sick leave. Reporting workplace violence in hospitals to superiors or authorities was low (9.4%). Most respondents (62.8%) did not receive training on how to avoid workplace violence. Logistic regression analyses indicated that general nurses, aged 35 years or younger, and with a higher-level professional title were more likely to experience physical violence. Healthcare workers with direct physical contact (washing, turning, lifting) with patients had a higher risk of physical violence compared to other health care workers. Procedures for reporting workplace violence were a protective factor for physical violence; when in place, reporting after psychological violence (verbal abuse, bullying/mobbing, harassment, and threats) was more protective than waiting until an instance of physical violence (beating, kicking, slapping, stabbing, etc.). Conclusions: Physical violence in Chinese township hospitals is an occupational hazard of rural public health concern. HCV is prevailed in the world as well as in China. Blood transfusion is one of the most common transmission pathways of this pathogen. Although data of HCV infection character were reported during the past years, anti-HCV reactive profile of China donors was not fully clear yet. Furthermore, infection progress was found related to the HCV genotype. Different genotype led to different efficacy when interferon was introduced into HCV therapy. Here we provided character data of HCV infection in China blood donors from the year of 2000 to 2009. The infection rate in local donors was lower than general population and descended from 0.80% to 0.40% or so in recent years. About 83% HCV strains were categorized into genotypes 1b and 2a. But 1b subtype cases climbed and 2a subtype cases decreased. The current study threw more light on HCV infection of blood donors in China, at least in the Northern region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Physicians and Standardised Residency Training physicians (SRTPs) have relatively high exposure to psychological violence. Its adverse effects are far greater than those of physical violence. However, no previous research has paid attention to the problem of psychological violence among them. This study aims to evaluate the extent, characteristics, and risk factors of psychological violence among SRTPs in comparison to physicians, and also to highlight the psychological violence experienced by SRTPs and suggest preventive measures.Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in northern China. 884 physicians and 537 SRTPs completed a questionnaire which compiled by the ILO, ICN, WHO and PSI in 2003 to measure violence in the workplace. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis were used to analyse results.Results: The effective response rates of physicians and SRTPs were 63.1%(884/1400) and 86.3%(537/622) respectively. 73.0%(645/884) of physicians and 24.8%(133/537) of SRTPs suffered psychological violence in the past year. Compared to physicians (29/645, 4.5%), SRTPs (42/133, 31.6%) experience more internal violence. Further, after experiencing psychological violence, physicians are willing to talk to family and friends, but SRTPs generally take no action. Shift work was a risk factor for both physicians (OR 1.440, 95% CI 1.014-2.203) and SRTPs (OR 1.851, 95% CI 1.217-2.815) suffering from psychological violence. In contrast, no anxiety symptoms protected physicians (OR 0.406, 95% CI 0.209-0.789) and SRTPs (OR 0.404, 95% CI 0.170-0.959) against psychological violence.Conclusions: SRTPs and physicians in northern China have a high risk of experiencing psychological violence, and physicians experience more. Meanwhile, there are obvious differences in responses to psychological violence and risk factors between them. Therefore, medical institutions should pay more attention to psychological violence, especially among SRTPs, such as supporting the reporting of psychological violence, strengthening team relationships, and providing psychological comfort and counselling. Background: Waterlogging is one of the most serious abiotic stresses affecting wheat-growing regions in China. Considerable differences in waterlogging tolerance have been found among different wheat varieties, and the mechanisms governing the waterlogging tolerance of wheat seeds during germination have not been elucidated. Results: The results showed no significant difference between the germination rate of 'Bainong 207' (BN207) (after 72 h of waterlogging treatment) and that of the control seeds. However, the degree of emulsification and the degradation rate of endosperm cells under waterlogging stress were higher than those obtained with the control treatment, and the number of amyloplasts in the endosperm was significantly reduced by waterlogging. Transcriptomic data were obtained from seed samples (a total of 18 samples) of three wheat varieties, 'Zhoumai 22' (ZM22), BN207 and 'Bainong 607' (BN607), subjected to the waterlogging and control treatments. A comprehensive analysis identified a total of 2775 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). In addition, an analysis of the correlations among the expression difference levels of DEGs and the seed germination rates of the three wheat varieties under waterlogging stress revealed that the relative expression levels of 563 and 398 genes were positively and negatively correlated with the germination rate of the wheat seeds, respectively. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses showed that the difference in the waterlogging tolerance among the three wheat varieties was related to the abundance of key genes involved in the glycolysis pathway, the starch and sucrose metabolism pathway, and the lactose metabolism pathway. The alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) gene in the endosperm of BN607 was induced immediately after short-term waterlogging, and the energy provided by the glycolysis pathway enabled the BN607 seeds to germinate as early as possible; in addition, the expression of the AP2/ERF transcription factor was upregulated to further enhance the waterlogging tolerance of this cultivar. Abstract: Shallow, eutrophic lakes are usually characterized by a turbid state devoid of submerged vegetation subject to human-induced eutrophication. In most cases, it is rather hard to restore a vegetated clear state due to reduced resilience caused by a blend of complicated factors. In this study, we successfully reestablished a plant community in a small hypereutrophic lake over a certain period. In winter and spring with transparency of >55cm and temperature of <20°C, a submerged stands bed formed gradually under strong human interventions. The reestablished plant bed displayed obvious seasonal succession and prolonged the clear-water stage until July 2005, when it collapsed. The regime shift to a turbid state was mainly attributed to the decreasing biomass of stands bed and mechanical damage brought about by the elimination of Spirodela polyrhiza, increasing water temperature, P concentration as well as periphyton biomass, etc. The reestablishment also changed the aquatic ecosystem greatly. A ‘clear-water’ stage was characterized by higher NO3 −–N, NH4 +–N, electrical conductivity, transparency and TN/TP level and more cladocerans (mainly Daphnia pulex), while the turbid state was characterized by higher temperature, chlorophyll a and TP level and more abundant rotifers. It is thus viable to restore submerged macrophytes in such lakes in winter and spring, when transparency is relatively high while temperature and water level are low. Nevertheless, to obtain a long-term, vegetated clear state, control of internal nutrient loading by means of obstruction, purification, dredging or solidification, is extremely necessary since nutrients play an important role in regime shifts as evidenced by the present case, too. A vertical/reverse-vertical flow constructed wetland system was set up in Wuhan, China, to study its treatment efficiency of polluted lake water. The numbers of substrate microorganisms and urease activities in the substrate of the constructed wetland were determined by plate counts and colorimetric analysis, respectively. The removal efficiencies of biochemical oxygen demands (BOD5), chemical oxygen demands (COD), total phosphorus (TP), total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), and total suspended solids (TSS) were measured by EPA approved methodology. The results showed there were significant positive correlations (P<0.05) between numbers of microorganism in the substrate and removal rates of TKN and CODCr. Meanwhile, there was significant positive correlation (P<0.05) between urease activities and removal efficiencies of TKN and negative correlation between urease activities and removal efficiencies of BOD5. Substrate microorganisms and urease activities played key factors during purification processes and they could be utilized as indicator of wastewater treatment performances in the constructed wetland system. Nationwide estimates of the impact of common modifiable risk factors on mortality remain crucial. We aim to assess the influence of social determinants, lifestyle, and metabolic factors on mortality in 174,004 adults aged ≥40 years from the China Cardiometabolic Disease and Cancer Cohort (4C) Study. We reveal that 17 modifiable factors are independently associated with mortality, accounting for 64.8% of all-cause mortality, 77.4% of cardiovascular mortality, and 44.8% of cancer mortality. Low education emerges as the leading factor for both all-cause and cancer mortality, while hypertension is predominant for cardiovascular mortality. Moreover, low gross domestic product per capita and high ambient particulate matter with a diameter of <2.5 μm (PM 2 ) air pollution account for 7.8% and 4.3% for all-cause mortality, respectively, using a different method. Gender-specific analyses reveal distinct patterns, with women's mortality primarily associated with social determinants and men exhibiting stronger associations with lifestyle factors. Objective: With the increase in the prevalence rate and improvements in the survival of breast cancer patients, there is a growing interest in understanding the level of psychosocial adjustment in these patients. The study aimed to describe the illness perception and psychosocial adjustment levels of both breast cancer patients and their spouses, to use the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) to clarify the actor-partner relationships between spouses, and to explore the impact of illness perception on psychosocial adjustment to the disease within the joint actions of both spouses., Methods: A total of 216 female patients with breast cancer and their spouses participated in the study. They were selected from two tertiary hospitals in Guangdong Province, China from October 2022 to May 2023 using a convenience sampling method. The participants were assessed using the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire and the Psychosocial Adjustment to Illness Scale to examine the relationship between illness perception and psychosocial adjustment. AMOS24.0 was used to test and analyze the actor-partner interdependence model., Results: The illness perception score (57.75 ± 10.91) was slightly higher than that of the spouse (57.10 ± 11.00), and the psychosocial adjustment score (64.67 ± 6.33) was slightly lower than that of the spouse (64.76 ± 7.49). The results of the actor-partner interdependence model indicated that there was a couple partner between breast cancer patients and their spouses: the spouse's illness perception significantly affected the patient's psychosocial adjustment (β = 0.095, p = 0.015); the patient's illness perception also significantly affected the spouse's psychosocial adjustment (β = 0.106, p = 0.033). Among them, the patient's psychosocial adjustment was found to be related to the patient's illness comprehensibility or coherence of illness (β = 0.433, p = 0.009), the spouse's emotional illness representation (β = 0.218, p = 0.037), and the spouse's illness comprehensibility or coherence of illness (β = 0.416, p = 0.007), while the spouse's psychosocial adjustment was only related to the spouse's illness comprehensibility or coherence of illness (β = 0.528, p = 0.007)., Conclusions: The psychosocial adjustment of breast cancer patients is affected by both their own and spouse's illness perception. Therefore, in the future, the healthcare staff can implement early psychological interventions for patients diagnosed with breast cancer and their spouses as a unit to promote the psychosocial adjustment of them., (© 2024. Background: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between health literacy and quality of life in patients with TB in Tibet and explore the mediating effects of self-efficacy and self-management in the relationship between health literacy and quality of life., Methods: We used a convenience sampling method to select 271 cases of patients with TB in Tibet to conduct a survey of their general information, health literacy, self-management, self-efficacy and quality of life, and to construct structural equation models., Results: The total health literacy score of patients with TB in Tibet was 84.28±18.57, while the lowest score was for information acquisition ability (55.99±25.66). Scores for quality of life were generally lower than the norm (patients with chronic diseases from other cities in China) (p<0.01). Moreover, self-efficacy and self-management mediated the relationship between health literacy and quality of life (p<0.05)., Conclusions: In Tibet, patients with TB have a low level of health literacy and an average level of quality of life. Emphasis should be placed on improving information access literacy, role-physicals and role-emotional to improve overall quality of life. Two recent studies found that RBMS1 gene rs7593730 and BCAR1 gene rs7202877 are related to type 2 diabetes. However, the association of these loci with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been examined in Chinese. We performed a replication study to investigate the association of the 2 susceptibility loci with T2DM in the Chinese population. We genotyped 1961 Chinese participants (991 with T2DM and 970 controls) for each of the 2 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) rs7593730 in RBMS1 and rs7202877 near BCAR1 using SNPscan and examined their association with T2DM using logistic regression analysis. We also analyzed the correlation of the SNP alleles and clinical phenotypes. In additive model, genotype association analysis of BCAR1 rs7202877 loci revealed that the homozygous of rs7202877 GG carriers had significantly decreased T2DM risk compared to homozygous carriers of TT (P=0.038, OR 0.44, 95% CI 0.20-0.96). In the recessive model, the GG genotype GG had significantly decreased T2DM risk compared to GT+TT (P=0.043, OR 0.67, 95% CI 0.46-0.99). Allele G was statistically significantly correlated with TC (mmol/L) (P=0.036) and LDL-C (mmol/L) (P=0.007). As for rs7593730, the carriers of CT and TT genotype had significantly decreased T2DM risk compared to the carriers of CC genotype (CT: CC P=0.038, OR 0.71, 95% CI 0.51-0.98; TT: CC P=0.010, OR 0.32, 95% CI 0.13-0.76). In a dominant model, TT+CT: CC (P=0.013, OR 0.673, 95% CI 0.49-0.92) and in a recessive model, TT: CT+CC (P=0.019, OR 0.59, 95% CI 0.39-0.92). The T allele carriers had significantly decreased T2DM risk compared to the carriers of C (P=0.002, OR 0.65, 95% CI 0.50-0.86). Allele T was statistically correlated with FINS (P=0.010). In conclusion, our study showed that RBMS1 gene rs7593730 and BCAR1 gene rs7202877 were significantly associated with type 2 diabetes in the Chinese population.

Previous studies in other countries have shown that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the growth arrest-specific gene 6 (Gas6; rs8191974) and adapter-related protein complex 3 subunit sigma-2 (Ap3s2; rs2028299) were associated with an increasedrisk for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the association of these loci with T2DM has not been examined in Chinese populations. We performed a replication study to investigate the association of these susceptibility loci with T2DM in the Chinese population.We genotyped 1968 Chinese participants (996 with T2DM and 972controls) for rs8191974 in Gas6 and rs2028299 near Ap3s2, and examined their association with T2DM using a logistic regression analysis. We also analyzed the correlation of genotypes and clinical phenotypes. The distribution of the T allele of SNP rs8191974 in the Gas6 gene was significantly different between T2DM cases and controls when compared with the C allele (P<0.05, OR: 0.80, 95% CI: 0.69-0.94). The occurrence of the CT genotype and the dominant model was also significantly less frequent in the T2DM cases vs. controls when compared with the CC genotype (CT vs. CC: P<0.05, OR: 0.75, 95% CI:0.62-0.90; TT+CT vs. CC: P<0.05, OR:0.75, 95% CI:0.63-0.90). In SNP rs2028299, the allele C showed no statistically significant differencein distribution between the control and T2DM groups when compared with allele A. However, in male populations, the dominant model was statistically more frequent when compared with genotype AA (CC+CA vs. AA: P<0.05, OR:1.29, 95% CI:1.02-1.64), and in obesity-stratified analysis, we also observed a significant difference in the distribution of the dominant model between the T2DM cases and controls in subjects with BMI≥24 kg/m 2 and BMI<28kg/m 2 (CC+CA vs. AA: P<0.05, OR: 6.33, 95% CI:4.17-9.61). In conclusion, our study shows that SNPsrs8191974 and rs2028299 are significantly associated with T2DM in the Chinese population.

Aims/introduction: To investigate the association between two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs3774261 and rs822393) in the ADIPOQ gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus in Han Chinese from northeast China., Materials and Methods: The present study comprised 993 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients and 966 unrelated controls from northeastern China. Two SNPs were sequenced using SNPscan. The distribution of genotype frequencies of the two SNPs in ADIPOQ between cases and controls, and in subgroups stratified based on body mass index, were compared using logistic regression analysis. Linear regression was used to analyze the association between each SNP and clinical indicators., Results: The GG genotype of rs3774261 increased the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus compared with the AA genotype in participants with a body mass index <24 (P = 0.021; odds ratio 1.636, 95% CI 1.708-2.484). Rs822393 was correlated with glycosylated hemoglobin (P = 0.043) in controls. Rs3774261 had an association with diastolic blood pressure (P = 0.017) in controls, and in controls with a body mass index <24; rs3774261 also had an association with both systolic blood pressure (P = 0.025) and diastolic blood pressure (P = 0.043)., Conclusions: The present results confirm the association between ADIPOQ variants and type 2 diabetes mellitus in northeastern China. UBE2E2 encodes ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2E2, which plays an important role in the synthesis and secretion of insulin. Two previous studies indicated that SNPs in UBE2E2 were associated with risk for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the Japanese and Korean populations, respectively. We examined the association of one SNP in this gene, rs7612463, with the risk of T2DM in 1957 Han participants in northeastern China, using an SNPscan(TM) Kit. rs7612463 genotype was significantly associated with risk for T2DM under various genetic models, including an additive model (P = 0.004), a dominant model (P = 0.024), and a recessive model (P = 0.008). The AA genotype was associated with a significantly decreased risk for T2DM (P = 0.004, OR = 0.513, 95% CI = 0.325-0.810) after adjustment for age, gender, and BMI. The heterozygous genotype, AC, was associated with increased risk for total cholesterol (mmol l-1; P = 0.031) and triglycerides (mmol l-1; P = 0.039) in control individuals. Our results show that rs7612463 is associated with T2DM, with homozygotes of the AA genotype at decreased risk for T2DM in the Chinese population. Additionally, heterozygotes may have decreased risk of T2DM due to insulin resistance.

In 2013, the first dengue fever (DF) outbreak in central China was reported in the central of Henan province, northern temperate regions, although they have been sequentially recorded in Southern China. 106 suspected DF cases were reported and 73 patients were confirmed dengue virus type 3 (DEN-3) infections. 62/392 (15.8%) local health persons showed DEN antibodies positive. Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1β (HNF1β), a transcription factor encoded by the transcription factor 2 gene (TCF2), plays a critical role in pancreatic cell formation and glucose homeostasis. It has been suggested that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of TCF2 are associated with susceptibility to type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, published results are inconsistent and inclusive. To further investigate the role of these common variants, we examined the association of TCF2 polymorphisms with the risk of T2D in a Han population in northeastern China. We genotyped five SNPs in 624 T2D patients and 630 healthy controls by using a SNaPshot method, and evaluated the T2D risk conferred by individual SNPs and haplotypes. In the single-locus analysis, we found that rs752010, rs4430796 and rs7501939 showed allelic differences between T2D patients and healthy controls, with an OR of 1.26 (95% CI 1.08-1.51, P = 0.003), an OR of 1.23 (95% CI 1.06-1.55, P = 0.001) and an OR of 1.28 (95% CI 1.10-1.61, P = 0.001), respectively. Genotype association analysis of each locus also revealed that the homozygous carriers of the at-risk allele had a significant increased T2D risk compared to homozygous carriers of the other allele (OR 1.78, 95% CI 1.20-2.64 for rs752010; OR 1.82, 95% CI 1.24-2.67 for rs4430796; OR 1.95, 95% CI 1.31-2.90 for rs7501939), even after Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons. Besides, the haplotype-based analysis demonstrated that AGT in block rs752010-rs4430796-rs7501939 was associated with about 30% increase in T2D risk (OR 1.31, 95% CI 1.09-1.57, P = 0.01). Our findings suggested that TCF2 variants may be involved in T2D risk in a Han population of northeastern China. Larger studies with ethnically diverse populations are warranted to confirm the results reported in this investigation.

HCV is prevailed in the world as well as in China. Blood transfusion is one of the most common transmission pathways of this pathogen. Although data of HCV infection character were reported during the past years, anti-HCV reactive profile of China donors was not fully clear yet. Furthermore, infection progress was found related to the HCV genotype. Different genotype led to different efficacy when interferon was introduced into HCV therapy. Here we provided character data of HCV infection in China blood donors from the year of 2000 to 2009. The infection rate in local donors was lower than general population and descended from 0.80% to 0.40% or so in recent years. About 83% HCV strains were categorized into genotypes 1b and 2a. But 1b subtype cases climbed and 2a subtype cases decreased. The current study threw more light on HCV infection of blood donors in China, at least in the Northern region.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is prevalent in China and screening of blood donors is mandatory. Up to now, ELISA has been universally used by the China blood bank. However, this strategy has sometimes failed due to the high frequency of nucleoside acid mutations. Understanding HBV evolution and strain diversity could help devise a better screening system for blood donors. However, this kind of information in China, especially in the northwest region, is lacking. In the present study, serological markers and the HBV DNA load of 11 samples from blood donor candidates from northwest China were determined. The HBV strains were most clustered into B and C genotypes and could not be clustered into similar types from reference sequences. Subsequent testing showed liver function impairment and increasing virus load in the positive donors. This HBV evolutionary data for China will allow for better ELISA and NAT screening efficiency in the blood bank of China, especially in the northwest region.

The new compound hemsleyatine (1) was isolated along with four known C(19)-diterpenoid alkaloids: indaconitine (4), yunaconitine (5), chasmanine (6), and talatisamine (7) from the roots of Aconitum hemsleyanum PRITZ. Structures were established by spectral analysis, including tow dimeusional (2D) NMR spectroscopy and a chemical method. Hemsleyatine (1) is the first C(19)-diterpenoid alkaloid bearing the 8-amino group. In addition, the assignments of some (13)C signals for pseudaconine (3) were revised by comparison with those of hemsleyatine (1).
