In recent years, efforts to promote entrepreneurship as a possible career path for Chinese university students have intensified alongside the implementation of the official campaign of "mass entrepreneurship and mass innovation" (大众创业, 万众创新, dazhong chuangye, wanzhong chuangxin). Based on semi-structured interviews and long-term ethnographic fieldwork conducted at two Chinese elite universities, this article examines what motivates young Chinese to become entrepreneurs. It is argued that Chinese students imagine entrepreneurship as an alternative to ceaseless striving for high-paying jobs. They believe that becoming entrepreneurs will enable them to pursue their own interests, engage in meaningful projects, experience a life of excitement and variation, and become masters of their own time. Engineering leadership is one of the key competencies being requested by accreditation agencies and engineering companies. Thus, it is of utmost importance that engineering colleges and schools develop leadership competencies in all its students. This paper is a follow up of a paper presented at WEEF in New Mexico [1] and describes the second phase of an undergraduate Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELP) being implemented at Beihang University in China. This signature program in the new model curriculum aspires to develop engineering leadership competencies in all its undergraduate students. Phase 2 course (ELP II) was offered in the Summer of 2019 incorporating changes decided with data from the first phase. The article offers information on an initiative in China to preserve the wild tiger. It is posed that reintroducing captive tigers to the wild may seem a dire plan. Relative to this, just about 100 years ago, an estimated 100,000 tigers representing nine subspecies wandered Asia from Turkey to China. The 2006 report of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources stated that human persecution have caused the population of the wild tiger to dwindle. Moreover, while the population of wild tigers is decreasing, the number of captive tigers is increasing.

The article reports on the research conducted by Yin Kaipu and colleagues on the forests of the Qionghai Mountain Range in Sichuan, China. They observed that the mountains along the road and close to the villages were shaved or barren. According to Yin, the logging posed a threat to a Chinese icon, the giant panda, which is known to live in small isolated parts of the mountains. To address the issue, Yin and his colleagues and with the help of the Sichuan government imposed a logging ban in 1998, thus preserving the parks and reserves of the country.
