This paper aims to describe absolutely nothing yet somewhat everything, under the assumption that there are many more generations of particles and waves than the accepted view that there are three generations. This paper aims to describe what each generation means, suggesting that for each generation there is a different dimension, and where each generation describes a type of certainty, a type of decision, and a type of communication. This paper introduces a model of communication, for which there is a fundamental hierarchy.

Conditions under which a quantum particle can be described using classical quantities are studied. We investigate the wavefunction of a quantum particle submitted to a potential field for which all quantum effects vanish, even if Planck's constant is non-negligible. This problem is equivalent to the problem of the motion of a particle in a refringent medium. The indices of refraction of such media are found. In these media, quantum particles have classical momenta, while their wave properties are described by the wave-optics equation with a characteristic length equal to the de Broglie wavelength ƛ. In the 1D case, the particle cannot be found in the region near the origin, since the index of refraction tends to infinity there. For the 3D case with central symmetry, the wave properties are determined by a function that has a resonance of width about 2 ƛ. Experimental verification of theoretical predictions is discussed.

Background and Objectives: There are known Rabi oscillations between the basic states of a two-level system, and the preparation of any qubit states is possible using these oscillations. There are several ways to readout qubits. It can be the strong random projective measurement, the weak continuous selective measurement, even the non-demolition readout of the qubit by a measurement of the ancillary qubit. Another qubit readout scheme is proposed in this article. Methods: The non-stationary Schrodinger equation is solved numerically by the finite element method to simulate the preparation and the readout of the qubit. Two levels near the bottom of the one-dimensional rectangle potential well are considered as a qubit. The Rabi oscillations and time-averaging Fourier-type integrals are calculated. Results and Conclusion: It is shown that there is also another way to read out the state of a qubit. After preparing the superposition state by the Rabi oscillations the external field must be turned off so that the prepared state can be measured. The first step of measurement is a random choice of the basic state to which the reduction leads. Then there is an instant projective reduction or continuous selective reduction. The presence of only two levels in a qubit system makes it possible to propose a scheme for effective control over continuous reduction. The measurement scheme is proposed in which continuous reduction to the basis wave function occurs over a period at the Bohr transition frequency and for a multiple of this period.

In the usual approach to the pilot-wave theory for a spin zero particle one starts with the Klein–Gordon equation, which is the relativistic generalization of the Schrodinger equation. This approach encounters several difficulties including superluminal motion and particle trajectories that move backwards in time. In this paper, I start with the relativistic classical Hamilton–Jacobi equation and introduce the quantum potential in a way that avoids the preceding difficulties. Particle trajectories are time-like or null and are future-pointing. The wave equation satisfied by the field is a nonlinear generalization of the Klein–Gordon equation.

Differences of the time periods in two independent quantum systems are examined on a semiclassical level. The systems are the electron in the hydrogen atom and a free-electron particle moving in a one-dimensional potential box, respectively. It is demonstrated that in both systems the relativistic correction to the time interval can be expressed as a multiple of the same quantum of time. The size of the quantum is proportional to the ratio of the Planck’s constant and the rest energy of the electron particle.

The basic equations of the non-relativistic quantum mechanics with trajectories and quantum hydrodynamics are extended to the relativistic domain. This is achieved by using a Schr?dinger-like equation, which describes a particle with mass and spin-0 and with the correct relativistic relation between its linear momentum and kinetic energy. Some simple but instructive free particle examples are discussed.

Young’s one-dimension-double-slit experiment represents the basic mystery of quantum world and was extended to which-way-1D-double-slit experiment. To explore the mystery, 2D-cross-double-slit apparatuses have been proposed, which consists of more than one double-slits intersecting to each other. In this article, we report which-way-2D-cross-double-slit experiments by detecting which slit of a double-slit of 2D-cross-double-slit apparatus a photon would pass through. The experimental results show that photons passing through the detected double-slit behave as particle, while photons passing through other undetected double-slit(s) distribute as wave in the same experiment with the same apparatus. Namely the particle nature and wave distribution coexist, which violates Bohr’s complementarity principle. We suggest that photon’s “particle nature” is intrinsic, while the term “wave nature” represents a wave-like distribution, which is a consequence of movement of photon as particle. It is a challenge to interpret mathematically those observations consistently.

We propose an experiment to investigate the possibility of long-distance thermodynamic relationships between two entangled particles. We consider a pair of spin-$$\frac{1}{2}$$ 1 2 particles prepared in an entangled singlet state in which one particle is sent to Alice and the other to her distant mate Bob, who are spatially separated. Our proposed experiment consists of three different setups: First, both particles are coupled to two heat baths with various temperatures. In the second setup, only Alice’s particle is coupled to a heat bath and finally, in the last setup, only Bob’s particle is coupled to a heat bath. We study the evolution of an open quantum system using the first law of thermodynamics based on the concepts of ergotropy, adiabatic work, and operational heat, in a quantum fashion. We analyze and compare ergotropy and heat transfer in three setups. Our results show that the heat transfer for each entangled particle is not independent of the thermalization process that occurs for the other one. We prove that the existence of quantum correlations affects the thermodynamic behavior of distant particles in an entangled state.

We construct the Hayden-Preskill protocol by using a system of spin-1/2 particles and demonstrate information flows of this system which can mimic black holes. We first define an analogous black hole $A$ as a collection of such particles. Second, we take the particles from inside to outside the black hole to define an analogous system of Hawking radiation $B$ as outside particles. When the black hole and the radiation have the maximum entanglement at the Page time, we take an entangled pair system $C$ and $D$. The particles of $C$ fall into the black hole while their counterparts of $D$ remain outside. If we assume rapid mixing of the particle states in the black hole $A \cup C$, can the information of $C$ rapidly escape from the black hole like a mirror? We numerically show that if we turn on the rapid mixing in the black hole, the original information of $C$ rapidly escapes from the black hole to outside in the form of the mutual information between $B$ and $D$. On the other hand, if the mixing between $A$ and $C$ is not enough, the information escapes slowly. Hence, we explicitly demonstrate the original conjecture of Hayden and Preskill. We emphasize that enough mixing is an essential condition to make the Hayden-Preskill protocol functionally work., 12 pages, 4 figures

It is often said that interactions destroy the particle nature of excitations. We report that, in holographic theory adding interaction term can create a new quasi particle spectrum, on the contrary. We show this by calculating the optical conductivity in a model with exact background solution and finding a new quasi-particle spectrum. Such new poles are consequence of some non-minimal interaction like Chern-Simon term. We also point out that the origin of the new peak in our example is the vortex formation by the anomalous magnetic moment induced by the interaction term.

Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon in theoretical physics that happens when pairs or groups of particles are generated in such a way that the quantum state of each particle cannot be described independently...

Two important results of quantum physics are the \textit{no-cloning} theorem and the \textit{monogamy of entanglement}. The former forbids the creation of an independent and identical copy of an arbitrary unknown quantum state and the latter restricts the shareability of quantum entanglement among multiple quantum systems. For distinguishable particles, one of these results imply the other. In this Letter, we show that in qubit systems with indistinguishable particles (where each particle cannot be addressed individually), a maximum violation of the monogamy of entanglement is possible by the measures that are monogamous for distinguishable particles. To derive this result, we formulate the degree of freedom trace-out rule for indistinguishable particles corresponding to a spatial location where each degree of freedom might be entangled with the other degrees of freedom. Our result removes the restriction on the shareability of quantum entanglement for indistinguishable particles, without contradicting the no-cloning theorem., 13 pages, 4 figures

The ultrafast hole dynamics triggered by the photoexcitation of molecular targets is a highly correlated process even for those systems, such as organic molecules, having a weakly correlated ground state. We provide a unifying framework and a numerically efficient matrix formulation of state-of-the-art nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) methods such as second-Born as well as $GW$ and $T$-matrix without and with exchange diagrams. Numerical simulations are presented for a paradigmatic, exactly solvable molecular system, and the shortcomings of the established NEGF methods are highlighted. We then develop a NEGF scheme based on the Faddeev treatment of three-particle correlations; the exceptional improvement over established methods is explained and demonstrated. The Faddeev NEGF scheme scales linearly with the maximum propagation time, thereby opening up prospects for femtosecond simulations of large molecules.

A salient feature of quantum mechanics is the inherent property of collective quantum motion, when apparent independent quasiparticles move in highly correlated trajectories, resulting in strongly enhanced transition probabilities. To assess the extend of a collective quantity requires an appropriate definition of the uncorrelated average motion, often expressed by single particle units. A well known example in nuclear physics is the Weisskopf unit for electromagnetic transitions which reveals different aspects of collective motion. In this paper we define the corresponding single particle unit for alpha decay as induced by four uncorrelated/non-interacting protons and neutrons. Our definition facilitates an unified description of all alpha decay processes along the nuclear chart, revealing a simple mass dependence. The comparison of the uncorrelated decay rates with the experimentally observed ones, shows a significant enhancement of the decay rates pointing towards collective alpha like correlations in the nuclear ground state. As a limiting case, the formalism presented here is applied to proton decay revealing its single particle nature.

In most nuclear many-body methods, observables are calculated using many-body wave functions explicitly. The variational two-particle reduced density matrix method is one of the few exceptions to the rule. Ground-state energies of both closed-shell and open-shell nuclear systems can indeed be evaluated by minimizing a constrained linear functional of the two-particle reduced density matrix. However, it has virtually never been used in nuclear theory, because nuclear ground states were found to be well overbound, contrary to those of atoms and molecules. Consequently, we introduced new constraints in the nuclear variational two-particle reduced density matrix method, developed recently for atomic and molecular systems. Our calculations then show that this approach can provide a proper description of nuclear systems where only valence neutrons are included. For the nuclear systems where both neutrons and protons are active, however, the energies obtained with the variational two-particle reduced density matrix method are still overbound. The possible reasons for the noticed discrepancies and solutions to this problem will be discussed., 14 pages, 9 figures

Motivated by recent developments of hydrodynamical quantum mechanical analogs [J. W. M. Bush, Annu. Rev. Fluid Mech. 47, 269-292 (2015)] we provide a relativistic model for a classical particle coupled to a scalar wave-field through a holonomic constraint. In presence of an external Coulomb field we define a regime where the particle is guided by the wave in a way similar to the old de Broglie phase-wave proposal. Moreover, this dualistic mechanical analog of the quantum theory is reminiscent of the double-solution approach suggested by de Broglie in 1927 and is able to reproduce the Bohr-Sommerfeld semiclassical quantization formula for an electron moving in a atom., Comment: 15 pages

[EN] Interacting quantum systems in the chaotic domain are at the core of various ongoing studies of many-body physics, ranging from the scrambling of quantum information to the onset of thermalization. We propose a minimum model for chaos that can be experimentally realized with cold atoms trapped in onedimensional multi-well potentials. We explore the emergence of chaos as the number of particles is increased, starting with as few as two, and as the number of wells is increased, ranging from a double well to a multi-well Kronig-Penney-like system. In this way, we illuminate the narrow boundary between integrability and chaos in a highly tunable few-body system. We show that the competition between the particle interactions and the periodic structure of the confining potential reveals subtle indications of quantum chaos for 3 particles, while for 4 particles stronger signatures are seen. Quantum theory permits interference between indistinguishable paths but, at the same time, restricts its order. Single-particle interference, for instance, is limited to the second order, that is, to pairs of single-particle paths. To date, all experimental efforts to search for higher-order interferences beyond those compatible with quantum mechanics have been based on such single-particle schemes. However, quantum physics is not bound to single-particle interference. We here experimentally study many-particle higher-order interference using a two-photon-five-slit setup. We observe nonzero two-particle interference up to fourth order, corresponding to the interference of two distinct two-particle paths. We further show that fifth-order interference is restricted to ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ in the intensity-correlation regime and to ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}2}$ in the photon-correlation regime, thus providing novel bounds on higher-order quantum interference.

We study the quantum effects of Near-Extremal black holes near their horizons. The gravitational dynamics in such backgrounds are closely connected to a particle in $AdS_2$ with constant electric field. We use this picture to solve the theory exactly. We will give a formula to calculate all correlation functions with quantum gravity backreactions as well as the exact Wheeler-DeWitt wavefunction. In this study, the Majorana equation for particles with arbitrary spin is solved for a half-integer spin free particle. The solution for the fundamental state, corresponding to the reference frame in which the particle is at rest, is compared with that obtained using the Dirac equation, especially as regards the approximation in the relativistic limit, in which the speed of the particle is close to that of light. Furthermore, the solutions that Majorana defines unphysical, proving that their occupation probability increases with the particle velocity, are taken into consideration. The anomalous behavior exhibited by these states also shows that for high-energy particles with small mass, transitions from a bradyonic state to a tachyonic state become possible., Comment: 17 pages, 2 figures

We have studied the eigenfunctions of a characteristic equation corresponding to the kinetic equation for a Bose gas with a constant frequency of particle collisions. The solution of the homogeneous Riemann boundary value problem is used. The theory of orthogonality of eigenfunctions is generalized to quantum gases, namely, to a Bose gas. The orthogonality properties underlying the kinetic theory allow us to find an analytical solution of problems with boundary conditions.

Properties of a quantum field that represents an elementary particle and a quantum field that mediates an interaction between particles are analyzed. This analysis relies on fundamental physical principles. The mathematical structure of these fields proves that they are completely different physical objects. A further analysis proves that a quantum field that represents an elementary massive particle and a quantum field that represents a massless particle have a completely different mathematical structure. The results are used in an examination of free spin-1/2 elementary massive particles and other free elementary particles that have an integral spin. Inherent inconsistencies are found for elementary massive particles that have an integral spin and for the Majorana neutrino. The analysis also proves that interaction mediating fields do not represent a genuine particle.

It is possible to empirically discriminate between the predictions of orthodox (i.e., Copenhagen) quantum theory and the de Broglie−Bohm theory of quantum mechanics. A practical experiment is proposed in which a single, laser-cooled ion inside an ultra-cold particle trap is either found to be near the trap’s walls or not. Detections of the former kind would support the prediction of orthodox quantum theory and of the latter kind would support the de Broglie−Bohm theory. The outcome of this experiment would show which theory gives the more correct description and, consequently, would have far-reaching implications for our understanding of quantum mechanics.

Highly accurate electron affinities and ionization potentials of chemical systems were described by means of the procedure called GHV-EOM (Valdemoro et al, in Int J Quantum Chem 112:2965, 2012), which combines the G-particle-hole hypervirial (GHV) equation method (Alcoba et al, in Int J Quantum Chem 109:3178, 2009) and that of the equations-of-motion (EOM), by Simons and Smith (Simons and Smith, in J Chem Phys 58:4899, 1973). The present work improves that hybrid method by introducing the point group symmetry within its framework, providing a higher computational efficiency. We report results which show the achievements attained by using the symmetry-adapted methodology. We study weak traces of particle passing Vaidman’s nested Mach–Zehnder interferometer. We investigate an effect of decoherence caused by an environment coupled to internal degree of freedom (a spin) of a travelling particle. We consider two models: pure decoherence leading to exact results and weak coupling Davies approximation allowing to include dissipative effects. We show that potentially anomalous discontinuity of particle paths survives an effect of decoherence unless it affects internal part of the nested interferometer.

Light bosonic (axion-like) dark matter may form Bose stars - clumps of nonrelativistic Bose-Einstein condensate supported by self-gravity. We study rotating Bose stars composed of condensed particles with nonzero angular momentum $l$. We analytically prove that these objects are unstable at arbitrary $l \ne 0$ if particle self-interactions are attractive or negligibly small. They decay by shedding off the particles and transporting the angular momentum to the periphery of the system until a Saturn-like configuration appears: one (or several) spin-zero Bose stars and clouds of diffuse particles orbit around the mutual center. In the case of no self-interactions we calculate the profiles and dominant instability modes of the rotating stars: numerically at $1 \leq l\leq 15$ and analytically at $l\gg 1$. Notably, their lifetimes are always comparable to the inverse binding energies; hence, these objects cannot be considered long-living. Finally, we numerically show that in models with sufficiently strong repulsive self-interactions the Bose star with $l=1$ is stable., Comment: 18 pages, 17 figures; journal version

We present a quantum kinetic theory for spin-$1/2$ particles, including the spin-orbit interaction, retaining particle dispersive effects to all orders in $\hbar$, based on a gauge-invariant Wigner transformation. Compared to previous works, the spin-orbit interaction leads to a new term in the kinetic equation, containing both the electric and magnetic fields. Like other models with spin-orbit interactions, our model features "hidden momentum". As an example application, we calculate the dispersion relation for linear electrostatic waves in a magnetized plasma, and electromagnetic waves in a unmagnetized plasma. In the former case, we compare the Landau damping due to spin-orbit interactions to that due to the free current. Single-particle resonances in the continuum are crucial for studies of exotic nuclei. In this study, the Green's function approach is employed to search for single-particle resonances based on the relativistic-mean-field model. Taking $^{120}$Sn as an example, we identify single-particle resonances and determine the energies and widths directly by probing the extrema of the Green's functions. In contrast to the results found by exploring for the extremum of the density of states proposed in our recent study [Chin. Phys. C, 44:084105 (2020)], which has proven to be very successful, the same resonances as well as very close energies and widths are obtained. By comparing the Green's functions plotted in different coordinate space sizes, we also found that the results very slightly depend on the space size. These findings demonstrate that the approach by exploring for the extremum of the Green's function is also very reliable and effective for identifying resonant states, regardless of whether they are wide or narrow., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures, and 1 table

To this end, we study potentials which are functionals on the space of Hamiltonians enjoying an unstable critical point corresponding to a random quantum mechanical system (the Gaussian unitary ensemble), but also less symmetrical local minima corresponding to interacting systems at the level of operators., Published in JHEP

We analyze the collision of three particles with arbitrary mass ratio at zero collision energy, assuming arbitrary short-range potentials, and generalize the three-body scattering hypervolume $D$ first defined for identical bosons in 2008. We solve the three-body Schr\"{o}dinger equation asymptotically when the three particles are far apart or one pair and a third particle are far apart, deriving two asymptotic expansions of the wave function, and the parameter $D$ appears at the order $1/B^4$, where $B$ is the overall size of the triangle formed by the particles. We then analyze the ground state energy of three such particles with vanishing or negligible two-body scattering lengths in a large periodic volume of side length $L$, where the three-body parameter contributes a term of the order $D/L^6$. From this result we derive some properties of a two-component Bose gas with negligible two-body scattering lengths: its energy density at zero temperature, the corresponding generalized Gross-Pitaevskii equation, the conditions for the stability of the two-component mixture against collapse or phase separation, and the decay rates of particle densities due to three-body recombination., Comment: 10 pages, no figure

Spontaneous collapse models are proposed modifications to quantum mechanics which aim to solve the measurement problem. In this article, we will consider models which attempt to extend a specific spontaneous collapse model, the Ghirardi-Rimini-Weber model (GRW), to be consistent with special relativity. We will present a condition that a relativistic GRW model must meet for three cases: for a single particle, for $N$ distinguishable particles, and for indistinguishable particles. We will then show that this relativistic condition implies that one can have a relativistic GRW model for a single particles or for distinguishable noninteracting, nonentangled particles but not otherwise.

This work incorporates translational and reflection symmetry reductions to the variational determination of the two-particle reduced density matrix (2-RDM) corresponding to the ground state of N-particle systems, within the doubly occupied configuration interaction (DOCI) space. By exploiting these symmetries within this lower-bound variational methodology it is possible to treat larger systems than those previously studied. The 2-RDM matrix elements are calculated by imposing up to four-particle N-representability constraint conditions using standard semidefinite programing algorithms. The method is applied to the one- and two-dimensional XXZ spin 1/2 model of quantum magnetism. Several observables including the energy and the spin–spin correlation functions are obtained to assess the physical content of the variationally determined 2-RDM. Comparison with quantum-Monte Carlo and matrix product state simulations shows that in most cases only requiring up to three-particle positivity conditions is enough to correctly describe the ground-state properties of these one- and two-dimensional models.

Quantum theory stipulates that if two particles are identical in all physical aspects, the allowed states of the system are either symmetric or antisymmetric with respect to permutations of the particle labels. Experimentally, the symmetry of the states can be inferred indirectly from the fact that neglecting the correct exchange symmetry in the theoretical analysis leads to dramatic discrepancies with the observations. The only way to directly unveil the symmetry of the states for, say, two identical particles is through the interference of the original state and the physically permuted one, and measure the phase associated with the permutation process, the so-called particle exchange phase. Usually, a solid is conceived as a network of atoms that can vibrate around its equilibrium position generating propagating waves. However, the fact that the energy of these waves is quantized suggests an analogy with the electromagnetic field; then, the quantum “particle” called phonon is defined. In this work we study the relation between the description levels of phonons and of atoms as a case of intra-theoretical relationship. Sin embargo, el hecho de que la energía de estas ondas esté cuantificada sugiere una analogía con el campo electromagnético. En analogía con el fotón se define al fonón. Generalmente se concibe al fonón como a una cuasi-partícula, es decir, como a un instrumento matemático útil en los cálculos pero sin una existencia propia. En este trabajo estudiamos el estatuto ontológico del fonón y argumentaremos en favor de la idea de considerarlo como una partícula real.

We study the annihilating random walk with long-range interaction in one dimension. Each particle performs random walks on a one-dimensional ring in such a way that the probability of hopping toward the nearest particle is $W= [1 - \epsilon (x+\mu)^{-\sigma}]/2$ (the probability of moving away from its nearest particle is $1-W$), where $x$ is the distance from the hopping particle to its nearest particle and $\epsilon$, $\mu$, and $\sigma$ are parameters. For positive (negative) $\epsilon$, a particle is effectively repulsed (attracted) by its nearest particle and each hopping is generally biased. On encounter, two particles are immediately removed from the system. We first study the survival probability and the mean spreading behaves in the long-time limit if there are only two particles in the beginning. Then, we study how the density decays to zero if all sites are occupied at the outset. We find that the asymptotic behaviors are classified by seven categories: (i) $\sigma>1$ or $\epsilon=0$, (ii) $\sigma = 1$ and $2\epsilon > 1$, (iii) $\sigma=1$ and $2\epsilon = 1$, (iv) $\sigma = 1$ and $2\epsilon < 1$, (v) $\sigma 0$, (vi) $\sigma = 0$ and $\epsilon, Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, 1 table. Exact solutions of a novel quasi-relativistic quantum mechanical wave equation are found for Hydrogen-like atoms. This includes both, an exact analytical expression for the energies of the bound states, and exact analytical expressions for the wavefunctions, which successfully describe quantum particles with mass and spin-0 up to energies comparable to the energy associated to the mass of the particle. These quasi-relativistic atomic orbitals may be used for improving ab-initio software packages dedicated to numerical simulations in physical-chemistry and atomic and solid-state physics.

We investigate a Bose-Einstein condensate in strong interaction with a single impurity particle. While this situation has received considerable interest in recent years, the regime of strong coupling remained inaccessible to most approaches due to an instability in Bogoliubov theory arising near the resonance. We present a nonlocal extension of Gross-Pitaevskii theory that is free of such divergences and does not require the use of the Born approximation in any of the interaction potentials. We present the study of the one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation by a smooth barrier. The scattering solutions are given in terms of the Whittaker $M_{\kappa,\mu}(x)$ function. The reflection and transmission coefficients are calculated in terms of the energy, the height and the smoothness of the potential barrier. A two-dimensional spatially and temporally modulated Wannier-Stark system of ultracold atoms in optical lattices is shown to mimic the behavior of a Dirac particle. In this Letter, we analyze the quantum dynamics of the perceptron model: a particle is constrained on an $N$-dimensional sphere, with $N\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$, and subjected to a set of randomly placed hard-wall potentials. This model has several applications, ranging from learning protocols to the effective description of the dynamics of an ensemble of infinite-dimensional hard spheres in Euclidean space. We find that the jamming transition with quantum dynamics shows critical exponents different from the classical case. We also find that the quantum jamming transition, unlike the typical quantum critical points, is not confined to the zero-temperature axis, and the classical results are recovered only at $T=\ensuremath{\infty}$. Our findings have implications for the theory of glasses at ultralow temperatures and for the study of quantum machine-learning algorithms.

The behavior of a photon is strange. It possesses both wave nature and particle nature. Some experiments show both behaviors of photons can exist simultaneously, while some other experiment state that both properties do not co-exists simultaneously. According to electromagnetic theory, the rest mass of photon in free space is zero and also photon has non-zero rest mass, as well as wavelength-dependent. The very recent experiment revealed its non-zero value as 10 - 54 kg ( 5.610 × 10 - 25 MeV c - 2 ) . Even experimental results concluded that within matter (dispersive) the photon shows its imaginary rest mass. We have no exact answer as to why photon incarnates itself with versatile mass. Here we try to theoretically investigate about the rest mass of a photon. When it touches the surface of matter, it makes illusion and mathematically the rest mass is a complex number. Rest mass of photon depends upon scalar curvature of the surface of matter and wavelength of the photon. Photon itself reveals illusion posing with mass because of its dual nature. We have investigated the wave-particle duality of light, coexistence of wave and particle nature through morphing due to pliable character of light wave. Our theoretical work about the photon’s illusive mass will have to be experimentally verified and it might open plausible new applications in the secure communication of information.

In this paper we provide the representation of the symplectic group $Sp(2n, \mathbb{R})$ in polymer quantum mechanics. We derive the propagator of the polymer free particle and the polymer harmonic oscillator without considering a polymer scale. The polymer scale is then introduced to reconcile our results with those expressions for the polymer free particle. The propagator for the polymer harmonic oscillator implies non-unitary evolution., 20 pages

In the information loss problem in black hole evaporation, investigation of the purification partner of a Hawking particle is crucial. It is a well-known fact that 3+1 dimensional spherically symmetric gravitational collapse can be approximately described by 1+1 dimensional moving mirror models. Since a detected particle in field theory is defined by what a particle detector observes, the diversity of detector designs yields a variety of particles and their partners. We provide a formula of generalized partners of detected particles emitted out of mirrors in arbitrary motion in a free massless scalar field theory. Using the formula, we directly demonstrate information storage about pre-thermal information in a pure state of a Hawking particle and its partner. The partner form drastically changes depending on the detailed designs of particle detectors for the Hawking radiation. In a case of the Hawking particle and its partner sensitive to information about pre-thermal era, spatial configurations of the partner has long tails in a stage where only zero-point fluctuation is emitted out of the mirror., 19 pages, 18 figures

It is shown that the recently proposed quantum analogue of classical energy equipartition theorem for two paradigmatic, exactly solved models (i.e., a free Brownian particle and a dissipative harmonic oscillator) also holds true for all quantum systems which are composed of an arbitrary number of non-interacting or interacting particles, subjected to any confining potentials and coupled to thermostat with arbitrary coupling strength.

Universal behavior in few-boson systems close to the unitary limit, where two bosons become unbound, has been intensively investigated in recent years both experimentally and theoretically. In this particular region, called the unitary window, details of the interparticle interactions are not important and observables, such as binding energies, can be characterized by a few parameters. With an increasing number of particles, the short-range repulsion, present in all atomic, molecular, and nuclear interactions, gradually induces deviations from the universal behavior. In the present paper, we discuss a simple way of incorporating nonuniversal behavior through one specific parameter which controls the smooth transition of the system from a universal to nonuniversal regime. Using a system of $N$ helium atoms as an example, we calculate their ground-state energies as trajectories within the unitary window and also show that the control parameters can be used to determine the energy per particle in homogeneous systems when $N\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\infty}$.
