The late Paleozoic tectonic setting of the Zongwulong Belt (ZWLB), a significant unit located in the northern Qaidam margin, Qinghai province, remains uncertain. Diabase dykes in the western part of the Zongwulong Belt offer insights into this issue. Field investigations reveal that the dips of the dykes are almost vertical, and they have sharp boundaries with the host rocks. These dykes consist of plagioclase, clinopyroxene, and opaque minerals exhibiting a characteristic porphyritic texture and massive structure. Zircon U-Pb dating of the dykes yields a weighted 206Pb/238U age of 289 ± 1 Ma. The dykes exhibit relatively high concentrations of TFeO, K2O + Na2O, and TiO2, while the SiO2 and MgO concentrations are relatively low. They display relative light-over-heavy REE enrichment, and lack negative Nb-Ta and Eu anomalies. The dykes underwent negligible crustal contamination, and experienced extensive fractional crystallization of olivine, clinopyroxene, and Fe-Ti oxides. Originating from the spinel–garnet transition zone at depths of approximately 75 km, the dykes result from garnet facies low-degree melting (5%–10%) in a continental rift setting. Combining these findings with regional geological data, we propose that the ZWLB likely experienced a continental rift in the west and exhibited a narrow oceanic environment in the east in the late Paleozoic period, potentially representing the most distant north branch of the East Paleo-Tethys Ocean. The Bengal Basin is a well‐known foreland basin that archives the tectonic evolution of the Himalayan and Indo‐Burman Ranges (IBR). The Dupi Tila Formation is the youngest among the stratigraphic successions of the Bengal Basin, which witnessed the last phase of the Himalayan uplift. However, there is still controversy regarding sediment provenances since the Himalayan and IBR are in the late Neogene exhumation stage. In this study, the petrographical and geochemical compositions of the Dupi Tila sandstones from the Lalmai Anticline of the Bengal Basin are examined to infer the source rocks, tectonic settings, palaeoclimate and weathering intensity in provenance areas. The detrital modes and geochemical discriminations, as well as Chondrite‐normalized rare earth elements patterns with enrichment in light rare earth elements and nearly flat heavy rare earth elements and negative Eu anomalies (average Eu/Eu* = 0.77) indicate dominantly felsic source rocks. The geochemical data also suggest that these source rocks in provenance areas were influenced by weak to moderate chemical weathering (chemical index of alteration: 65.64–75.62) and multiple recycling under warm and humid to semi‐humid climatic conditions. The detrital zircon ages show three dominant peaks at ca. 100, 500 and 1000 Ma with minor 1700 Ma. The amount of young zircon grains (<120 Ma) is noticeably higher (~18%) in this Lalmai outcrop compared to the Dupi Tila samples from the Sylhet Trough and Chittagong‐Tripura Fold Belt. Results from integrated zircon geochronology and geochemistry indicate that the detritus are likely derived from a recycled orogen provenance related mainly to active continental margin setting with subordinate influence from passive setting. Therefore, the regionally extensive Himalayan Orogen appears to be the primary sediment source, with additional mixing from the IBR and recycled sediments originating from the Gangdese batholith of the Trans‐Himalaya. Scheelite, one kind of common REE-rich and U-bearing hydrothermal mineral, is extensively developed in various types of gold deposits, which can be used to record nature and timing of metallogenesis. The Zhaishang Carlin-like gold deposit in the Qinling Orogen is a giant Au deposit, hosting 127t of Au @ 2.67 g/t with economic concentrations of tungsten and antimony. The study reports two types of scheelite based on the characteristics of petrography and geochemistry. Sch A shows significant oscillatory zoning with dark gray cathodoluminescence (CL) response, whereas Sch B displays patchy textures with brighter CL response. Systematic LA-ICP-MS U–Pb dating of Sch A and Sch B yields ages of 227.1 ± 3.2 Ma and 226.2 ± 6.9 Ma, respectively. The new dates, constraining the Zhaishang Au–W mineralization to ~ 227Ma, coincide well with the western Qinling magmatism, metallogenic and tectonic events. There are significant variations in concentration, the Sch A has low REE content (mean = 41.3 ppm), negative Eu-anomaly with slightly positive Ce-anomaly, whereas Sch B, with small negative or positive Eu-anomaly, has higher REE content (mean = 247 ppm) and higher positive Ce-anomaly. The positive correlation of EuN and EuN* records oxidizing condition during the whole W mineralization event. Additionally, Sch B intergrown with selenides with an increase in the Ce-anomaly supports that the latter has higher oxygen fugacity environment. The Sr isotope signature for scheelite supports that ore-forming metals mostly inherited the host rock component, while the proportion of magma-derived Sr increased in the Sch B. Fluid–rock interactions co-precipitated Au and W caused by the release of Fe and Ca cations and the increase of pH. The study highlights that scheelite as a recorder can help in deciphering the nature and timing of metallogenesis of the studied Au–Sb–W deposit, and thus other similar Au–W deposits. The influence of the paleo-Tethys or paleo-Pacific oceanic plate subduction on Early Triassic South China has long been debated. We have studied the zircon U-Th-Hf isotopes, trace elements, and whole-rock geochemistry of Early Triassic peraluminous granitoids in the Qinzhou Bay area, South China Block. LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating has revealed the Jiuzhou granodiorites and Dasi-Taima granite porphyries formed between 248.32 ± 0.98 and 246.6 ± 1.1 Ma. These rocks are characterized by high K2O and Al2O3, and low MgO, CaO, and P2O5 contents with A/CNK = 1.06–1.17, showing high-K calc-alkaline S-type affinities. The Early Triassic intrusive rocks and adjacent silicic volcanic rocks in the Qinzhou Bay area were found to be comagmatic and derived from a common magma pool, detached in an undifferentiated melt instead of indicating remarkable crystal—melt separation. Although the analyzed granitoids have highly enriched zircon Hf isotopic compositions (εHf(t) = −23.9 to −7.8), they cannot originate solely from metasedimentary protoliths. Source discrimination indicators have revealed enriched lithospheric mantle-derived magma was also an endmember component of the S-type silicic magma, which provided a heat source for the crustal anatectic melting as well. We inferred the studied Early Triassic granitoids formed under the paleo-Tethys tectonic regime before the collision of South China and Indochina blocks, as the oceanic plate subduction would have created an extensional setting which further caused the mantle-derived upwelling and volcanic eruption. As the world's largest accretionary orogen, the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB) underwent continuous juvenile crustal growth in the Phanerozoic. The northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC) and its adjacent area form the eastern segment of the CAOB, which is a key area for learning about the geological evolution of the Paleo-Asian Ocean (PAO). In the Permian, the west of the northern margin of the NCC was a post-collision extensional environment, while the east was in a subduction stage. As a connecting area, the Permian evolution of the PAO in the middle of the northern margin of the NCC has not been systematically studied. In order to fill the gap and understand the continuous temporal and spatial evolutionary process of the PAO, this paper focuses on the Permian granitic rocks in the Chifeng area. Zircon U-Pb dating and the geochemical analysis of whole-rock major and trace elements were conducted to build a granite chronological framework, and to discuss the genesis and tectonic background of the granitic rocks, along with tectono-magmatic evolutionary history in the Chifeng area. The respective LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating results from eight samples are 269 ± 1, 268 ± 3, 260 ± 4, 260 ± 1, 260 ± 1, 255 ± 2, 254 ± 2 and 256 ± 1 Ma, respectively. These results, combined with previous data, revealed that the Permian granitic rocks had undergone three events of magmatism: (1) monzogranitic-syenitic phase (294–284 Ma; Cisuralian); (2) monzogranitic phase (269–260 Ma; Guadalupian) and (3) late monzogranitic-syenitic phase (256–254 Ma; Lopingian). From the Early Permian (294–284 Ma) to the Middle Permian (269–260 Ma), granites with fine-medium-grained locally porphyritic texture and massive structure showed a high-potassium calc-alkaline series formed in a compressional setting, indicating a continuous collision between the Xing'an-Mongolian Orogenic Belt (XMOB) and the NCC. During the Late Permian-Early Triassic (256–248 Ma), granites with massive structure and medium-grained texture in the Chifeng area were magmatism dominated by A- and I-type granites of high-potassium calc-alkaline series, combined with the coeval basic rocks, which constituted a typical "bimodal" rock assemblage. This suggests that the Chifeng area was located in an extensional setting where the subducting slab broke off during the collision between the XMOB and NCC. These granitic plutons from the Permian are believed to have been generated by the subduction-collision of the Paleo-Asian oceanic crust beneath the NCC, according to emplacement time and occurrence location. Our findings provide strong evidence for Permian continuous temporal and spatial tectonic evolution and the characterization of the eventual closure of the PAO in Chifeng area at the northern margin of the NCC. Various magmatic–hydrothermal activities have resulted in different styles of polymetallic mineralization in South China. Shuikoushan is a large Fe-Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag orefield situated in fold-and-thrust belts within the South China Block. Two types of granodiorite have been identified in recent drilling work. The early-stage, coarse-grained granodiorite has developed magnetite-bearing skarns in the deep level. The late-stage, fine-grained granodiorite is associated with garnet-hematite–magnetite–pyrite–sphalerite–chalcopyrite-bearing skarns in its contact zone. Away from the garnet-bearing skarn are calcite–quartz–pyrite–sphalerite–galena veinlets in faulted breccia. Fieldwork has identified iron mineralization in both skarns, whereas copper mineralization was only discovered in the garnet-bearing skarns. Lead, zinc, gold, and silver mineralization were observed in the garnet-bearing skarns and faulted breccia. Zircon U–Pb analyses suggested the emplacement of two granodiorite at 167.8 ± 0.8 Ma (MSWD = 1.1, N = 31) and 163.6 ± 0.7 Ma (MSWD = 1.3, N = 32). Apatite and garnet U–Pb dating further indicated the magnetite-bearing skarns of 166.2 ± 1.9 Ma (MSWD = 4.5, N = 27), the hematite–magnetite–sulfide-bearing skarns of 158.6 ± 2.8 Ma (MSWD = 1.3, N = 34), and the calcite–quartz–sulfide veinlets of 159.5 ± 5.2 Ma (MSWD = 1.7, N = 24). The time–space relationship between the two intrusions and hydrothermal activities suggests that the fine-grained granodiorite is responsible for polymetallic mineralization. Whole-rock geochemistry analyses demonstrated the enrichment of LILEs and the depletion of Nb and Ta in two granodiorites, with a slight enrichment in LREEs and flat HREE patterns. These granodiorite bodies therefore belong to high-K calc-alkaline magma generated via the crust's partial melting. The fine-grained granodiorite generally has a lower HREE and higher Dy/Yb, Sr/Y ratios than coarse-grained granodiorite, corresponding to the source of magma in garnet stable lower crust. The residual garnet keeps ferric iron in melts, leaving the fine-granodiorite more oxidized for copper and gold concentration. Through these analyses and our drilling work, a continuous skarn–hydrothermal–epithermal system has been identified for Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag targeting in Shuikoushan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current debate on volcanic-plutonic connection is centered on whether eficient liquid-crystal segregation dominates the evolution of a mushy reservoir to produce evolved, crystal-poor rhyolite and cumulate leftover. However, magma recharge may remarkably influence the evolution of a mushy reservoir and obscure the evidence of liquid-crystal segregation. This complexity poses a challenge to exploring the connection of volcanic-plutonic rocks. This study investigates the Qinzhou Bay granitic complex (~250–248 Ma) from South China, which contains crystal-poor (<19 vol%) peraluminous rhyolites and subsequent crystal-rich (28–54 vol%) porphyries. Although the rhyolite and porphyry units have a close spatio-temporal link, they do not share a fractionation trend and similar whole-rock Sr-Nd-O isotopic compositions; thus, a direct connection is not evidenced. We further present textural analyses, mineral and melt inclusion compositions, thermobarometry (the combination of Ti-in-zircon thermometer and Ti-in-quartz thermobarometer), and thermodynamic modeling to examine the alternative interpretations, i.e., the two units may have intrinsically independent origins or the connection of the two units has been obscured. For the rhyolite unit, thermobarometric results reveal a polybaric storage system consisting of middle (>600 ± 80 MPa) and upper (~150 ± 40 and ~60 ± 20 MPa) crustal reservoirs. Variations in quartz Fe content and chlorine-rich, metaluminous melt inclusions suggest that magma hybridization with less-evolved metaluminous magmas occurred at both crustal levels. In particular, the elevated Fe contents in the quartz population that crystallized at the shallowest level (~60 ± 20 MPa) suggest that recharge magmas were directly injected into the shallowest reservoir. Deviation of the whole-rock composition from the liquid evolution trend recorded in melt inclusions suggests a combined efect of magma mixing and crystal-melt segregation processes in upper crustal reservoirs. Thermodynamic modeling and mass balance calculations suggest that the whole-rock composition of the rhyolite could be reproduced by mixing between regionally exposed dacites and segregated melts at crystallinities of 50–60% (using parental magma represented by the least-evolved melt inclusion). For the porphyry unit, thermobarometric results reveal magma storage at middle (more than 450 ± 40 to 550 ± 40 MPa) and upper (110 ± 20 to 140 ± 20 MPa) crustal levels. The small-scale oscillatory zonation of plagioclase, the pervasive resorption of quartz and alkali feldspar, and the presence of peraluminous microgranular enclaves in the porphyries suggest a recharge event of metasediment-sourced magmas, triggering reactivation and convection of the reservoir. Autoclastic and overgrowth textures of quartz, plagioclase, and alkali feldspar phenocrysts and development of columnar jointing suggest that the reactivated porphyritic magmas ascended and emplaced at ultrashallow levels (~30 ± 10 MPa). Because of the similar storage pressures, the porphyries may represent remobilized cumulates of rhyolitic magmas, whereas the texture and geochemistry of the cumulate-liquid pair were modified, a key factor rendering a cryptic connection between the rhyolite and porphyry. Alternatively, the plumbing systems feeding the rhyolite and porphyry units are horizontally independent or vertically discrete, but this circumstance is inconsistent with the same evolution trend of quartz Fe and Al contents of the rhyolite and porphyry. Our study highlights that whole-rock composition may record blended information of complex processes, and caution should be taken when whole-rock composition is used to extract information of a single process. Multi-method constraints are required to evaluate the influence of recharge processes on the modification of liquid-cumulate records, and big data analysis on the basis of geochemistry should be conducted with caution to avoid biased understanding. The Yongfeng composite granitic pluton, located in the southern section of the Nanling area, is composed of the Yongfeng and Longshi biotite monzonitic granites. In order to reveal the genesis of this composite granitic pluton and its relationship with mineralization, this study conducted zircon U-Pb dating, whole-rock major and trace element analysis, and biotite electron probe analysis. The results show that the Yongfeng composite granitic pluton is rich in silicon and alkali, weakly peraluminous, and poor in calcium and iron. It shows the enrichment of light rare earth elements and a significant fractionation of light and heavy rare earth elements. It also shows the enrichment of large ion lithophile elements and depletion of Ba, K, P, Eu, and Ti relative to the primitive mantle. The contents of TFe2O3, MgO, CaO, TiO2, and P2O5 are low and decrease with increasing SiO2 content. The Yongfeng composite granitic pluton does not contain alkaline dark minerals. Its average zircon saturation temperature is 776 °C, average TFe2O3/MgO is 4.81, and average Zr + Nb + Ce + Y is 280.6 ppm, which correspond to a highly fractionated I-type granite. The Yongfeng and Longshi granites were respectively formed at 152.0 ± 1.0 Ma–151.3 ± 1.1 Ma and 148.9 ± 1.2 Ma. They were formed in the extensional tectonic setting during the post-orogenic stage, under the control of the breakup or retreat of the backplate after the subduction of the Pacific Plate into the Nanling hinterland. The magmatic system of the Yongfeng composite granitic pluton is characterized by high fractionation, high content of F, high temperature, and low oxygen fugacity, which is conducive to mineralization of Sn, Mo, and fluorite. Devonian magmatism is one of the most important tectonothermal events in the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB). However, little is known regarding the petrogenesis and geodynamic setting of the widely distributed Devonian granitoids in the eastern Southern Beishan Orogenic Belt (SBOB). Early-Devonian granitic magmatism has been recognized from the Luotuoquan area, and the granites were emplaced between 404.9 Ma and 399.4 Ma according to LA-ICPMS zircon U–Pb dating. Geochemically, the granites exhibit high SiO2 and Al2O3 contents and are enriched in light rare earth elements as well as Rb, Th, Nd, Zr, and Hf, while being depleted in heavy rare earth elements and Ba, U, Sr, and Ti, with distinct rare earth element fractionation and pronounced negative Eu anomalies. According to the comprehensive analysis, they closely resemble the features typically associated with A-type granites. The zircons εHf(t) values are within the range of +0.90–+5.19 (averaged 3.23) for the monzogranite and syenogranite, whereas their TDM2 values fall between 1.05 and 1.34 Ga, suggesting that the magma source of the monzogranite–syenogranite originated from the partial melting of the Mesoproterozoic crust dominated by metagreywackes. Furthermore, the monzogranite and syenogranite exhibit high temperatures (average 782 °C), thin crustal thickness (average 30 km), and A-type characteristics, suggesting their formation in post-collision extensional settings. We propose the closure of the Beishan Ocean occurred before the early Devonian, followed by a transition in the Southern Beishan Orogenic Belt from a compressional to an extensional setting. The geodynamic mechanisms that controlled magmatic activity in South China during the late Mesozoic have been a cutting-edge focus of recent research. Southeastern Guangxi, which is located at the juncture between the Pacific and Neo-Tethyan tectonic domains, is a transitional zone characterized by the occurrence of widespread Jurassic–Cretaceous magmatic rocks. Investigation of this region can shed light on the late Mesozoic tectonic setting of South China. We conducted U–Pb geochronological and geochemical analyses of the Liuwang granodiorite and quartz porphyry, which are exposed in southeastern Guangxi. Zircon U–Pb dating yielded an age of 161.8 ± 1.2 Ma for the granodiorite and 97.89 ± 0.68 Ma for the quartz porphyry, indicating that they formed during the Late Jurassic and Late Cretaceous, respectively. The Liuwang granodiorites are weakly peraluminous high-K calc-alkaline rocks characterized by enrichment in large ion lithophile elements (including Rb) and high field strength elements (including Th, U, Pb, and Ta) and depletion in Ba, Nb, and Sr. The granodiorites also exhibit weak rare earth element (REE) fractionation and slightly negative Eu anomalies. Conversely, the Liuwang quartz porphyry is weakly peraluminous and belongs to the potassic syenite series, transitioning into the high-K calc-alkaline series. It is characterized by enrichment in Rb and high field strength elements (including Th, U, Pb, and Ta), with depletion in Ba, Nb, Sr, and Zr. It does not exhibit REE fractionation but does yield prominent negative Eu anomalies. The granodiorite and quartz porphyry yield εHf(t) values of −23.26 to −2.48 and −4.4 to +0.8, respectively, with tDM2 ages of 2642–1270 and 1411–1081 Ma, respectively. These data suggest that the Liuwang granodiorite formed under a background of Late Jurassic lithospheric extension–thinning and was derived from partial melting of Palaeoproterozoic–Mesoproterozoic metasedimentary sandstones with a minor contribution from mantle-derived melts. In contrast, the Liuwang quartz porphyry was derived from partial melting of Mesoproterozoic pelitic rocks and formed in a Late Cretaceous tectonic setting linked to the northward subduction of the Neo-Tethys Ocean beneath South China. The Middle Permian Maokou Formation in the Sichuan Basin has huge resources and is an important target for natural gas exploration. In recent years, significant exploration breakthroughs have been made in the dolomite field of member Mao-2 in central Sichuan, and the gas production of several wells has exceeded 1 × 106 m3/d, indicating promising prospects for exploration. However, the origin of the dolomite reservoir in member Mao-2 remains ambiguous, which restricts the accurate prediction of favorable reservoirs. This study focuses on drilling in the Hechuan area as its research object, by using a detailed description of the cores from member Mao-2 of seven wells; samples were selected for tests of the degree of dolomite cation ordering, stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions, strontium isotopic composition, rare earth elements, LA-ICP-MS element mapping and U-Pb dating. It is clarified that: (1) The crystalline dolomite of member Mao-2 in the Hechuan area is the main reservoir rock, and the heterogeneous vugs and fractures are the main reservoir space. The dolomite in member Mao-2 has been characterized by a low degree of cation ordering value (avg. 0.59), with values of δ13C (avg. 3.87‰), δ18O (avg. −7.15‰) and 87Sr/86Sr (avg. 0.707474) having similar geochemical characteristics to Middle Permian seawater; the REEs normalized distribution patterns have similar characteristics to limestone; and the U-Pb age (261.0~262.0 Ma) corresponds to the age in the Capitanian stage of the Permian Guadalupian Series. (2) Petrological studies show that member Mao-2 has vertical karstification zonation characteristics; syngenetic karstification controls the formation of a large-scale fracture-cave system in the phreatic zone; the dolomitization of sediment in the fracture-cave system occurred during the penecontemporaneous period with locally restricted seawater. (3) The main controlling factors of the reservoir were syngenetic karstification, early dolomitization and hydrothermal dissolution related to Emei taphrogenesis. The research results are of great significance for dolomite reservoir prediction; the highlands of paleogeomorphology with syndepositional faults are favorable areas for dolomite reservoirs. The early Paleoproterozoic (ca. 2.2–2.1 Ga) tectonic evolution of the Jiao–Liao–Ji belt (JLJB) is a continuous hot topic and remains highly controversial. Two main tectonic regimes have been proposed for the JLJB, namely arc-related setting and intra-continental rift. Abundant ca. 2.2–2.1 Ga volcanic rocks were formed in the JLJB, especially in the Liaodong Peninsula. These ca. 2.2–2.1 Ga volcanic rocks therefore could host critical information for the evolution of the JLJB. In this study, we report a suit of ca. 2.2–2.1 Ga felsic metavolcanic rocks in the Liaodong Peninsula of the JLJB to provide new insights into the above issue. Zircon U-Pb dating reveals that the felsic metavolcanic rocks were erupted at 2185–2167 Ma. They have variable εHf(t) values (−0.70 to +9.69), high SiO2 (66.30–75.30 wt.%) and relatively low TiO2 (0.03–0.78 wt.%), tFe2O3 (0.55–5.03 wt.%), MgO (0.17–8.76 wt.%), Cr (9.16–67.30 ppm), Co (2.01–7.00 ppm) and Ni (3.90–25.70 ppm) contents with enrichments in light rare earth element (REE) and large ion lithophile element (LILE), and depletions in heavy REE and high field strength element (HFSE). Geochemical and isotopic results indicate that the felsic metavolcanic rocks were sourced from partial melting of ancient Archean TTG rocks and juvenile lower crustal materials. Combined with coeval A-type granites, bimodal volcanic rocks and the absence of typical arc magmatism, the most likely tectonic regime at ca. 2.2–2.1 Ga for the JLJB is an intra-continental rift. Skarn-type tungsten deposits are widely distributed all over the world and contribute more than 70% of the world's W supply. The temporal relation between the W mineralization and causative intrusions and the evolution of ore-forming fluids are matters of ongoing debate. In this study, we combine in situ LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating and trace element compositions of scheelite from Zhuxi, the world's largest W deposit, and compare them with literature data to address the above issues. Three primary ore stages exist at Zhuxi: prograde skarn, retrograde skarn, and quartz-sulfide stages. Most scheelite occurs in the retrograde skarn stage and is further subdivided into three generations: Sch A, B, and C. The obtained LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages for three scheelite generations in the Zhuxi deposit are 154.0 ± 2.8, 150.3 ± 3.5, and 150.4 ± 6.3 Ma, respectively, indicating that the entire W mineralization is closely related to the emplacement of the nearby Late Jurassic granites (~154 to 150 Ma, zircon U-Pb ages). In situ LA-ICP-MS trace element results demonstrate that Sch A shows the highest Mo content (mean = 1002 ppm), where those for Sch B and Sch C are 109 and 45 ppm, respectively. These, combined with the gradually increasing trend of Ce contents and δCe values, indicate a shift from oxidizing to reducing conditions for the ore-forming fluid. All three scheelite generations yield significant positive δEu anomalies, which are considered to be unrelated to the redox state, but caused by the addition of Eu (e.g., feldspar dissolution). The high-Y/Ho ratio of scheelite and a good correlation between Y/Ho ratio and δEu (R2 = 0.96) suggest that intense fluid-rock interactions between ore fluids and the Shuangqiaoshan Group metasedimentary rocks as well as earlier-formed skarns drove fluid evolution. This study demonstrates that scheelite U-Pb geochronology is a useful technique when identifying the temporal link between hydrothermal W mineralization and the causative intrusion. There are several different models for the origin of syenites, but the role of magma mixing in the formation of syenites remains unclear. The Wulingshan alkaline complex in the northern North China Craton consists mainly of porphyritic syenite and syenite with abundant enclaves. These enclaves may provide new insights into the petrogenesis of syenites. We obtained zircon U–Pb age, mineral chemistry, whole‐rock major and trace elements, and Sr–Nd isotopic data for the enclaves and their host rocks to constrain the petrogenesis and identify the role of magma mixing during the formation of the different syenites in the Wulingshan alkaline complex. The results of zircon U–Pb dating indicate that the enclaves and host rocks crystallized contemporaneously at ca. 133 Ma. The enclaves contain abundant clinopyroxene, amphibole, and biotite, and their average Nb/Ta (18.46) and Th/Ce (0.04) ratios are similar to those of the mantle. The enclaves have relatively high Fe2O3T, MgO, and CaO contents, and their SiO2 contents are equivalent to those of intermediate rocks, indicating that they formed by mixing the mafic and felsic magmas to some extent. The different mineral assemblages, major and trace elements and isotopic compositions of the enclaves in the porphyritic syenite and syenite indicate that they are two batches of parental magma with different properties derived from the mantle. The porphyritic syenite and syenite have high SiO2 and low Fe2O3T, MgO, and CaO contents, as well as low V, Cr, Co, and Ni contents. These major and trace element characteristics of the host rocks require the involvement of crustal components. The Sr–Nd isotopic compositions of the enclaves and the host syenitoids plot on a mixing curve between enriched lithospheric mantle and lower crust, indicating that these rocks are the products of magma mixing and crust–mantle interaction. Considering the contact relationships, the geochemistry data, and the mixing model presented in the paper, we propose that the upwelling of the hot asthenosphere heated the overlying enriched lithospheric mantle and triggered low‐degree partial melting. Northeast China composes the main part of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. Traditionally, Northeast China has been considered a collage of several microcontinental blocks. However, the tectonic evolution of these blocks remains uncertain. Igneous rocks can be used to infer the magmatic histories of the blocks and thus help reconstruct their evolution. In this study, we present new zircon U–Pb and whole-rock geochemical data for Carboniferous igneous rocks from the Wunuer area, northern Great Xing'an Range, Northeast China, to constrain the Carboniferous amalgamation of the united Xing'an–Erguna and Songnen–Zhangguangcai Range massifs. On the basis of zircon U–Pb dating results, we identify two main stages of magmatism, i.e., early Carboniferous (332–329 Ma) and late Carboniferous (312–310 Ma). The early Carboniferous igneous rocks include diorites and granodiorites, with the former being classified as calc-alkaline to tholeiitic and the latter as tholeiitic. Both rock types are enriched in Th and U and depleted in Nb and Ti. The rocks display slightly fractionated rare earth element (REE) patterns, with an enrichment in light REEs and a depletion in heavy (H)REEs. The geochemical characteristics of the early Carboniferous rocks indicate that they formed in a subduction-related continental-arc setting. The late Carboniferous igneous rocks include monzogranites and syenogranites, both of which are classified as high-K calc-alkaline rocks and show enrichment in Th, U, and Rb and depletion in Nb and Ti. The rocks display strongly fractionated REE patterns, with an enrichment in light REEs and a depletion in HREEs. The geochemical characteristics of the late Carboniferous rocks indicate that they formed in a syn-collisional tectonic setting. Combining the new geochronological and geochemical results and inferred tectonic settings with regional magmatic data, we propose a new three-stage model to interpret the late Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the united Xing'an–Erguna and Songnen–Zhangguangcai Range massifs of Northeast China: (1) early Carboniferous (360–340 Ma) subduction of the Paleo-Asian oceanic plate beneath the united Xing'an–Erguna Massif and formation of the Wunuer oceanic basin in the Yakeshi area; (2) early to late Carboniferous (340–310 Ma) sustained subduction of the Paleo-Asian oceanic plate beneath the united Xing'an–Erguna Massif and initiation of subduction of the Wunuer oceanic basin; and (3) late Carboniferous–early Permian (310–275 Ma) syn-collisional to post-collisional tectonic transition between the united Xing'an–Erguna Massif and the Songnen–Zhangguangcai Range Massif. The Xinghongpu Formation is very important for understanding the Devonian tectonic evolution of the South Qinling orogenic belt. Geochemical, detrital zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopic studies were carried out on the Late Devonian metasedimentary rocks of the Xinghongpu Formation to constrain the depositional age, the provenance, and the tectonic setting. The detrital zircon U-Pb dating results revealed that the depositional age of the Xinghongpu Formation of the Late Devonian was not earlier than 363.2 Ma. The whole-rock geochemistry suggested that (1) this suite of metasedimentary rocks was mainly derived from quartzose sediments of mature continental provenance, with a small contribution from mafic and intermediate igneous provenance, and (2) the metasedimentary sandstone of the Xinghongpu Formation from the Late Devonian was deposited in an active continental margin to continental arc setting. The detailed detrital zircon U-Pb dating showed that the age spectra of detrital zircon could be divided into four groups: (1) 416–480 Ma, accounting for about 23%; (2) 740–850 Ma, accounting for about 19%; (3) 889–1017 Ma, accounting for about 19%; and (4) 1072–1146 Ma, accounting for about 12%. It also contained a group of Early Proterozoic zircons. The age and Hf isotope of the detrital zircons suggested that the clastic sediment deposited in the Xinghongpu Formation mainly came from the South Qinling Orogenic Belt and the North Qinling Orogenic Belt. The detrital zircon Lu-Hf isotopes indicated that most zircons were the products of the ancient crustal remelting, and the mantle-derived magmatic sources contributed to the provenance. The Chigbrak Formation in the Upper Ediacaran is one of the important exploration targets in the Tarim Basin, NW China. However, no significant discoveries have been made in this field, and unclear reservoir genesis is one of the important factors restricting exploration breakthrough. This study examined the outcrops of the Aksu area in northwestern Tarim Basin by using systematic descriptions of petrologic features in the Upper Ediacaran Chigbrak Formation. Samples were selected for tests of stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions, strontium isotopic compositions, rare earth elements, LA–ICP–MS element mapping and U–Pb dating. It was found that (1) the Chigbrak Formation is mainly composed of dolomitic microbialite, with average values of δ13C (PDB), δ18O (PDB) and 87Sr/86Sr of 3.50‰, 2.95‰ and 0.709457, and has similar geochemical characteristics to the coeval seawater. The dolomites have also been characterized by a medium degree of cation ordering (avg. 0.68), a low content of ΣREEs (avg. 9.03 ppm) and a chondrite standardized curve of REEs showing enrichment of LREE and depletion of HREE. The U–Pb ages range from 538 to 618 Ma, corresponding to the age of Ediacaran period. (2) Dolomitization occurred in a marine diagenetic environment during the penecontemporaneous period, with seawater as the dolomitization fluid. (3) Vugs are the dominant pore type of Chigbrak Formation, and they are the products of the dissolution of meteoric water in penecontemporaneous period. (4) The main controlling factors of reservoir were lithofacies, meteoric water dissolution controlled by fourth– or fifth–order sequences and tectonic movement, and early dolomitization. The genesis of intermediate intrusions is highly controversial, and one of the hot topics is whether they represent frozen melts or cumulates in the evolution of magmatic systems. Distinguishing accumulation from crystallization melt differentiated along the liquid line of descent is the key issue. The Paleoproterozoic intermediate intrusions in southern North China Craton provide an excellent case to decipher this issue. Multiple lines of evidence, including mineral textures, geochemistry as well as alphaMELTS modeling, indicate disequilibrium between whole‐rock and minerals, with melt extraction occurring at temperatures of 760°–820°C and with 10–40 wt.% of trapped melts. Effective water storage, revealed by amphibole and clinopyroxene hygrometers, plays a crucial role in promoting crystal‐melt segregation in pluton‐sized reservoirs in the upper crust. This study demonstrates that the accumulation in intermediate magmas can be identified even without evident complementary initial and extracted melts and provides deep insights into the genesis of intermediate continental crust. Upon mineral texture, geochronologic, whole‐rock and mineral geochemical, and thermodynamic investigation, we propose that crystal accumulation and crystal‐melt segregation processes can be identified in intermediate magmas with the melt extraction temperatures and proportions of trapped melts recorded by zircon trace elements. Amphibole and clinopyroxene hygrometers revealed high water content of the melts, which likely decreased the viscosity of melts and facilitated effective cumulate‐melt segregation. The tectonic transition from oceanic subduction to continental collision is a fundamental process during orogenesis, yet the nature of such transition and associated deep geodynamic processes for the Tibetan Plateau are still controversial. The long‐lived magmatism of the Gangdese Belt of southern Tibet provides an excellent opportunity to study the tectonic transition from subduction of the Neo‐Tethys oceanic lithosphere to the continental collision between Indian and Asian plates. We present zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopes, whole‐rock geochemistry, and Sr–Nd isotopes for the intrusions from Maizhokunggar, southern Lhasa Terrane. The zircon U–Pb dating indicates that two episodes of magmatism occurred in the Maizhokunggar region, ca. 70 Ma diorites and ca. 60 Ma granitoids. The ca. 70 Ma diorites are medium‐K calc‐alkaline and characterized by pronounced high‐field‐strength element depletion and light rare earth element enrichment, similar to arc‐type rocks. They have homogeneous (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios (0.70378–0.70424) and εNd(t) values (+2.6 to +3.4), and εHf(t) (+5.9 to +13.0) with relatively young depleted mantle model ages (307–762 Ma), suggesting that they were generated from the juvenile mafic lower crust induced by the underplating of basaltic magmas from depleted mantle wedge. The ca. 60 Ma granitoids, Kajiacun (KJC) granodiorites, and Qulongxue (QLX) and Bangdacun (BDC) monzogranites are high‐K series and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous. The KJC granodiorites with high Sr/Y ratios (25–43) are adakitic and were likely derived from partial melting of a thickened lower crust. The BDC monzogranites have more evolved Sr–Nd–Hf isotopes and older Nd–Hf model ages than the QLX monzogranites. These geochemical variations were mainly controlled by the fractionation crystallization with assimilation of ancient crustal materials. We propose that at ca. 70 Ma, the subduction of the Neo‐Tethys oceanic slab triggered the partial melting of the juvenile lower crust and formed the diorites with arc affinity, and then the initial collision (>60 Ma) between the Indian and Asian plates caused locally thickened lower crust, resulting in adakitic granodiorites. Our study sheds light on the lithospheric scale magma evolution from the deep mantle to the shallow crust during the critical geodynamic transition to collision, and early uplift. Late Paleozoic–early Mesozoic intrusive rocks are distributed widely along the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin in the northern Tibetan Plateau. To constrain the tectonic evolution, we carried out petrological, chronological, and geochemical studies of the Chahannuo gabbros. LA-ICP-MS Zircon U–Pb dating yields an age of 255.0 ± 0.9 Ma for the gabbros, which confirms the existence of Indosinian tectono-magmatic activity on the northern margin of the Qaidam Basin. The Chahannuo gabbros have low whole-rock SiO2, Fe2O3 contents, and high Al2O3 contents, which suggests a calc-alkaline affinity. In addition, the gabbros have high MgO, Cr, and Ni contents and Mg#, similar to those predicted of the regional basaltic melts, and indicating that they were affected mainly by fluid from the subducted slab. The Chahannuo gabbros are characterized by arc-like trace element patterns, with enrichment in LREE and LILE, and depletion in HREE and HFSE. No obvious negative Eu anomalies also indicate that no significant magmatic differentiation has occurred. The low Nb/La ratio and Ti content in gabbros samples suggests that the Chahannuo gabbros were partially contaminated by the crust during their formation. The Chahannuo gabbros have high incompatible element ratios (Rb/Sr, Th/Nd, and Th/La), which are closer to the category of enriched mantle. Combing our data with previous data from contemporaneous magmatism in the region, we suggest that the Chahannuo gabbros formed in a continental arc environment related to the northward subduction of the Paleo-Tethyan oceanic plate. Studies on post-collisional magmatic rocks can provide key clues to researching the crust–mantle interactions and the tectonic evolution of collisional orogenic belts. This study investigated a suite of newly discovered mafic intrusions in the middle of the East Kunlun orogenic belt through integrated analysis of petrology, petrography, and zircon U–Pb dating. The data could offer new insights into the generation of the Proto-Tethyan tectonic evolution. The result shows that these mafic intrusions are mainly gabbro and diabase, formed in the Early Devonian, with zircon U–Pb ages of 408.9 ± 2.0 Ma for gabbro and 411.1 ± 3.1 Ma for diabase. It consists of plagioclase, pyroxene, and dark minerals, and a small number of calcite and chlorite. Diabase has a small amount of amygdale. Their Na2O + K2O contents range from 3.47 wt.% to 5.45 wt.%, with Na2O/K2O ratios from 1.39 to 3.09, suggesting that they are calc–alkaline rocks. These rocks have an Fe2O3ᵀ content of 7.68 wt.%–11.59 wt.% and Mg# of 50.58–59.48, belonging to the iron-rich and magnesium-poor type. The chondrite-normalized rare earth elements show similar patterns that are characterized by enrichment of light rare earth elements, with (La/Yb)N of 3.27–6.75 and no significant europium anomaly, indicating the rocks are homogenous. The studied rocks are characterized by low contents of compatible elements Cr and Ni, enrichment of large-ion lithophile elements such as Rb, U, Sr, and Nd, and high-field-strength elements such as Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, and Th. The mafic magma originated from the partial melting of the enriched mantle and was assimilated and mixed with crust materials during the process of migration. Based on the regional tectonic evolution, we interpret that the Proto-Tethys Ocean had closed in the Early Devonian, and that the East Kunlun region was in a post-collisional extensional tectonic setting. Intra-oceanic arcs are one of the major building blocks of continents, and the rarely exposed calc-alkaline plutons in intra-oceanic arcs are a critical component of arc crust. These calc-alkaline plutons provide juvenile crustal materials to the continental crust, and thus their petrogenesis has important implications for the formation and evolution of continental crust. Here, we present the results of an integrated study, involving field investigation, petrology, geochronology and geochemistry, on calc-alkaline intermediate–felsic plutons and their mafic magmatic enclaves (MMEs) within a Proto-Tethyan intra-oceanic arc in the Lajishan terrane of the Qilian Orogen, northern Tibetan Plateau. These calc-alkaline intermediate–felsic plutons range from gabbroic diorites, through diorites, to granodiorites. In situ zircon U–Pb dating demonstrates that these plutons were emplaced in the Early Paleozoic (474–460 Ma), slightly older than previously identified 460–440 Ma intra-oceanic arc volcanics (boninites, ankaramites, high-Mg basaltic andesites, high-Al andesites, sanukites) in the Lajishan terrane. The geochemistry of these plutons indicates that they were differentiation products of subduction-metasomatized arc mantle-derived melts, and isotope modeling constrains that their mantle source was metasomatized by less than 10% addition of slab-derived fluids/melts. Their parental melts experienced polybaric medium- to high-pressure fractional crystallization to generate the compositional variation of these plutons. There are two types of MMEs according to their different geochemistry (high- and low-MgO MMEs) and both of them are early crystallized melts derived from the heterogeneous subduction-metasomatized arc mantle wedge, captured by evolving magmas. Alkaline high-MgO MMEs represent near-primitive alkaline melts derived from melting of pyroxenite with phlogopite-enriched veins in the heterogeneous arc mantle wedge, while low-MgO MMEs stand for relatively evolved calc-alkaline melts formed during differentiation of the melts parental to their host. The upper crustal construction of this Proto-Tethyan intra-oceanic arc was achieved through earlier emplacement of 474–460 Ma calc-alkaline plutons followed by slightly later eruption of arc volcanics at 460–440 Ma above these plutons. As approximated by the composition of these calc-alkaline plutons and arc volcanics, the upper crustal composition of this Proto-Tethyan intra-oceanic arc is still juvenile and primitive. This juvenile intra-oceanic crust was accreted to continental blocks through arc–continent collision at 440–420 Ma, in response to closure of the Proto-Tethys Ocean. The accreted intra-oceanic crust represents addition of juvenile crustal materials to existing continents and has remained primitive and intact, which could be balanced by other more evolved crustal components to form a mature bulk continental crust. The Zangalou Cu deposit lies in the Sabzevar volcanic‐plutonic zone, northeastern Iran. The deposit is hosted by the middle Eocene volcanic‐sedimentary sequences and it has been affected by propylitic, carbonate, sericitic, and minor argillic alterations. The volcanics have features typical of calc‐alkaline and metaluminous magmas and are plotted in the continental volcanic arc region. Zircon U–Pb dating of the andesite porphyry yield ages of 41.2 and 38.4 Ma (Bartonian). Ore mineralization occurs as stratabound with open‐space filling, dissemination, veinlet, and replacement textures in mineralized conglomerate, andesite porphyry, and trachyandesite host rocks. Cu content in Zangalou deposit vary from 1,234 g/t to 6.24% which mostly occurred as chalcocite mineral. Fluid inclusion data of mineralization‐related calcites indicate medium salinities (12.8–16.6 wt.% NaCl equivalents) and a wide range of temperatures (154–295°C) and show evidence of fluid cooling trend during the ore formation. The δ13C (between 19.3 and −2.8‰) and δ18OSMOW (between 24.8 and 25.34‰) values of ore‐related calcites suggests a contribution of sedimentary organic matter and marine carbonates as the source of carbon in the ore‐forming fluid. High positive δ34S values (27.8–33.47‰) suggest that the source of sulphur is related to sedimentary country rocks. Mineralization is lithologically and structurally controlled and it is epigenetic. According to geological, petrological, alteration, mineralization textures and geometry of deposit, fluid inclusion, and isotopic studies, the Zangalou deposit is similar to manto‐type deposits. It is established for the first time that biotite plagiogneisses from the Garevka metamorphic complex of the North Yenisei Ridge have geochemical characteristics of C-type adakites with island-arc melt sources. The Hf isotopic composition of zircons indicates the participation of several sources in the formation of the granite melt, including the juvenile mantle and older crustal rock protoliths with model ages THf(DM)с = 1838–1916 and 1965–2357 Ma, respectively. Based on the results of U–Pb dating of zircons, new pulses of Neoproterozoic endogenous activity at the western margin of the Siberian Craton (913 ± 11 and 915 ± 36 Ma for adakite-like granites and 932 ± 26 Ma for leucogranites), correlating with the Grenville tectonic events, were determined. These Grenville episodes of regional crustal evolution are correlated with the synchronous successions and a similar style of tectonothermal events along the Arctic margin of the supercontinent Rodinia. This confirms the spatial proximity of Siberia and the North Atlantic cratons (Laurentia and Baltica), which is consistent with the proposed Neoproterozoic paleogeographic reconstructions of Rodinia. Demingding is a promising porphyry Mo-dominated deposit recently discovered in the eastern Gangdese metallogenic belt in Tibet, China. We present zircon U-Pb-Lu-Hf isotopic studies, as well as geochemical data of the late monzogranites and the prior rhyolites from the Demingding porphyry deposit to uncover their origin and geodynamic mechanism. Zircon U–Pb dating yielded precise crystallization ages of 17.3 ± 0.6 Ma (MSWD = 2.5) and 186.5 ± 3.0 Ma (MSWD = 2.0) for monzogranite and rhyolite, respectively. The monzogranite is characterized by high-K calc-alkaline, adakitic affinities, and positive zircon εHf(t) values (+0.9∼+5.6, avg.+3.1) with TDM2 (0.73–1.04 Ga), while the rhyolite has εHf(t) values of (+2.1∼+7.3, avg.+5.2) and TDM2 of (0.76–1.09 Ga) similar to the monzogranite. Our results suggest that the Demingding porphyry Mo (Cu) deposit is related to magma generated from the Neo-Tethyan oceanic subduction. The subsequent monzogranite porphyry was likely formed by the remelting of previously subduction-modified arc lithosphere, triggered by continental collision crustal thickening in Miocene. The lower positive εHf(t) values of monzogranites suggest minor inputs from the Mo-rich ancient crust, suggesting that Mo favors the silicate melt. Such magmatic events and special metallogenesis typify intracontinental processes and porphyry copper deposits, which are normally confined to oceanic subduction and Cu-dominated style, thereby making the continental setting and Mo-dominated style of Demingding exceptional and possibly unique. Here we report the first set of thallium (Tl) isotope data in alkaline rocks from the North China Craton to constrain the nature of recycled materials in the metasomatized subcontinental lithospheric mantle. Samples from the Hekanzi and Saima alkaline complexes display Tl isotope compositions (ε205Tl) identical to the present‐day upper mantle and continental crust, suggesting that neither the recycled low‐temperature altered oceanic crust nor the pelagic sediments were involved in their sources. The volcanic rocks from the Liaodong‐Jinan region, whose source was previously proposed to contain recycled low‐temperature altered oceanic crust, also display modern mantle‐like Tl isotope composition, suggesting a significant Tl‐loss in the recycled oceanic crust during the subduction due to the dehydration process. Our Tl isotope data provide complementary constraints to the Sr‐Nd‐Hf‐O isotopes on the nature of metasomatic agent in the subcontinental lithospheric mantle. The timing of the Lhasa–Qiangtang collision following the closure of the Bangong–Nujiang Tethys Ocean has not been well constrained. An integrated study of whole-rock geochemistry and zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopes was carried out for Early Cretaceous quartz diorite-porphyrites and granites from the Yilashan and Amdo areas, northern Tibet. LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating reveal that the Yilashan and Amdo granitoids were emplaced at ~121–110 Ma. These granitic rocks display selective enrichment of light rare earth elements, large ion lithophile elements (e.g., Rb, U) and Th, but depletion of Sr and high field strength elements (e.g., Nb, Ta, Ti) compared to its neighboring elements. These new data, combined with regional geological setting, show that these igneous rocks were formed under a geodynamic setting of the Lhasa and Qiangtang (–Amdo) collision with oceanic slab breakoff and asthenospheric upwelling. The BNTO had been closed at ~121–110 Ma in the study area. Yilashan-Amdo granitoids roughly yield high (87Sr/86Sr)i ratios and obvious negative εNd(t) and zircon εHf(t) values along with old Nd TDM and zircon Hf TDM2 ages. Together with their variable U–Pb ages, these features indicate a Precambrian "hidden" crustal source beneath the northern Lhasa and Amdo terranes. The YLSS S-type granophyres were derived from partial melting of Paleoproterozoic lower crustal metagraywackes, whereas the YLSZ quartz diorite–porphyrites and the Amdo I- and A-type granites were mainly derived from partial melting of Paleo–Mesoproterozoic lower crustal mafic rocks with a certain amount of addition of mantle-derived melts. Minor amounts of the materials originated from the Amdo orthogneisses may also be involved in the formation of the YLSZ quartz diorite–porphyrites and the Amdo I-type granites. In addition, the Yilashan ophiolite was intruded by the ~112–108 Ma granophyric and quartz diorite–porphyritic intrusions before its final emplacement into the surrounding strata. The Truong Son orogenic belt (TSOB) is one of the most important orogenic belts in the Indochina block. There are numerous mafic to felsic intrusions in the Early Paleozoic caused by the Tethyan orogeny. However, the tectono-magmatic evolution of the TSOB in the Early Paleozoic is still unclear. In this paper, zircon U-Pb dating, whole-rock geochemistry, and the Sr-Nd isotopic data of the Early Paleozoic magmatic rocks have been systematically investigated to explore the petrogenesis and tectonic significance of these rocks in the TSOB. Based on our new results integrated with previous geological data, four major tectono-magmatic episodes are identified. (1) The Middle Cambrian (~507 Ma) is the early stage of northward subduction of the Tamky-Phuoc Son Ocean. (2) The Early Ordovician to Middle Ordovician (483–461 Ma) is the main subduction stage of the Tamky-Phuoc Son Ocean. The intrusive rock associations imply the closure of the Tamky-Phuoc Son Ocean. (3) The Late Ordovician to Early Silurian (461–438 Ma) is the collision stage of the Kontum massif and Truong Son terrane. The genesis of Late Triassic granitoids in the central Qiangtang is significant for deducing the evolution of the Palaeo‐Tethys Ocean in Qiangtang Block. Herein, we present a comprehensive study of zircon U–Pb ages, whole‐rock geochemistry and zircon Lu–Hf isotopes for the mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) and host granodiorites from the Shuanghu area, in order to evaluate their petrogenesis and geodynamic implications. New zircon U–Pb dating show identical formation ages for host granodiorites (207.1 ± 2.2 Ma and 206.6 ± 3.8 Ma) and MMEs (205.4 ± 2.9 Ma and 209.2 ± 2.2 Ma). The Shuanghu granodiorites contain amphibole and biotite and are characterized by moderate SiO2 (64.74–66.40 wt%) and K2O contents (2.48–3.62 wt%) as well as low A/CNK (0.69–1.00), indicating I‐type granite affinity. Its enriched zircon Hf isotopes (εHf(t) = −12.04 to −5.09) indicate that they were derived from the ancient mafic lower crust. The MMEs have a similar mineral assemblage, emplacement ages, trace elemental and zircon Hf isotopic compositions with the host granodiorites, indicating the cognate origin. These MMEs represent autoliths captured by latter ascending host magmas in the middle‐upper magma chamber. The highly variable Mg# (37–53), Cr (16.9–190 ppm) and Ni (5.71–67.2 ppm) in the Shuanghu MMEs and host granodiorites indicate that the mantle‐derived magma provided not only the heat but also the mafic components. In combining with previous studies, we suggest that the Shuanghu granodiorites and MMEs were formed in the post‐collision stage, which were caused by the asthenosphere upwelling related to the slab breakoff. The Qin-Hang Metallogenic Belt (QHMB), an important metallogenic belt in South China, hosts Cu and W–Sn polymetallic deposits. The Tongshanling ore field in the QHMB is characterized by the coexistence of Cu- and W-bearing polymetallic deposits, which are related to granodiorite and granite porphyry. This study examined whole-rock geochemistry, geochronology, and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopes to determine the genetic relationship between diverse ore-related granitoids (i.e., granodiorite and granite porphyry) and Cu–W metallogeny in the Tongshanling ore field. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U–Pb dating shows that the granodiorite and granite porphyry in the Tongshanling ore field were emplaced at 163.7 ± 0.4 Ma to 154.7 ± 0.6 Ma and 161.1 ± 0.3 Ma, respectively. Geochemically, the granodiorites are classified as oxidized I-type, while the highly evolved granite porphyry is reduced A-type. The Lu–Hf isotopic composition of the granodiorites is characterized by εHf(t) values ranging from –10.49 to –4.99 (average = –7.17), with corresponding TDMC ages ranging from 1524 to 1877 Ma (average = 1682 Ma). In contrast, the granite porphyry has higher εHf(t) values (–3.60 to –1.58, average = –2.78) and younger TDMC (1310–1438 Ma, average = 1387 Ma). The εNd(t) values of granodiorite are −8.06 to −7.37 and the two-stage model ages (TDM2) are 1543–1598 Ma, while the granite porphyry has higher εNd(t) values (−3.0 to −3.4) and younger TDM2 ages (1195–1223 Ma). The results show that the granodiorite and granite porphyry were formed from partial melting of different Mesoproterozoic basement rocks under varying degrees of crust–mantle interaction. Granite porphyry underwent well-recorded fractional crystallization. Compared to the Cu-forming granodiorite, the W-forming granite porphyry has a higher differentiation index, higher crystallization temperatures of zircon (average = 708 °C versus 631 °C), and lower oxygen fugacity (median ΔFMQ = –2.21 versus –1.77). [Display omitted] • Hongqiling Sn-W polymetallic deposit is a product of granitic magmatism in Late Jurassic. • The elemental composition of primary cassiterite is controlled by the compositions of ore-forming fluid and the rate of crystallization. Hongqiling deposit is one of the most typical hydrothermal vein type Sn-W polymetallic deposits in the Dongpo ore field, southern Hunan. It is an ideal object to study the Sn-W mineralization in the Nanling metallogenic belt and even in the whole South China Block, and to reveal the regional metallogenetic regularity. Based on the detailed investigation of the deposit geology, this paper discusses the mineralization age and processes of the Hongqiling hydrothermal vein type Sn-W polymetallic deposit by LA-MC-ICP-MS in-situ U-Pb dating and trace element geochemistry of cassiterite from the quartz vein type Sn-W ore body. Cathodoluminescence (CL) imaging shows that cassiterite in Hongqiling deposit can be divided into two generations. primary cassiterite (Cst-I) and altered cassiterite (Cst-II). The LA-MC-ICP-MS in-situ U-Pb age of the two groups of Cst-I samples are 158.9 ± 0.7 Ma and 158.4 ± 0.8 Ma, respectively, which are well consistent with the mineralization ages of most Sn-W deposits in the Nanling metallogenic belt, and are also consistent with the ages of middle to late Jurassic magmatic activity represented by the Qianlishan intrusion. This indicates that the Hongqiling deposit, like many Sn-W deposits in the Nanling metallogenic belt, is genetically related to the regional Middle to Late Jurassic granitic magmatic activities. LA-ICP-MS trace element analysis shows that trace elements such as Na and Cs are mainly distributed in fluid inclusions in cassiterite, while the major elements such as Mg, Al, and Si are mainly distributed in the mineral inclusions, and other elements such as W, U, Zr, Hf and Ti are mainly distributed in the cassiterite by isomorphic substitution. The high Fe and W contents in both primary and altered cassiterite indicate that the ore-forming fluid of Hongqiling deposit is mainly derived from granitic magma. The fluctuating variation of Fe, V, Sc, Ti, Zr, Hf, Nb and Ta in the primary cassiterite with the crystalline bands indicates that there are two large-scale pulses of magmatic hydrothermal fluid during the mineralization process, while the altered cassiterite is relatively depleted of Ti, Sc, Zr and U elements, and enriched in Pb which may represent the compositional characteristics of the late-stage fluid. The Yangla Cu-polymetallic deposit is the largest skarn Cu deposit in the Jinshajiang suture zone. Recently, an new W orebody was identified in the depths of the Cu orebodies. However, the genetic relationship between W and Cu orebodies, along with the tungsten ore-forming processes, remains unclear. This study delves into the careful investigation of three types of scheelites focusing on microstructure, trace element compositions and Sr isotope geochemistry. The aim is to elucidate the source and evolution of ore-forming fluids and ore genesis in the multi-episodic metallogenic systems. Primary scheelite (Sch-I) generally displays oscillatory zoning in CL images with the lowest REE (3.8–142 ppm) and highest Sr (604–1480 ppm) contents. Secondary scheelite (Sch-III), commonly precipitated as overprinting rims on primary crystal, has the highest REE (145–1071 ppm) and lowest Sr (376–793 ppm) contents. In contrast, Sch-II represents a transitional stage from primary to secondary, with REE and Sr contents at intermediate levels. Sch-I is characterized by LREE enrichment and a positive Eu anomaly in the chondrite-normalized REE patterns, whereas Sch-III shows MREE-rich patterns with a weak positive Eu anomaly. Scheelite U-Pb dating (30.3 ± 1.5 Ma) indicates that the W mineralization is not genetically related to Triassic granitoids in the Yangla district. Instead, it is likely associated with magmatic activities and tectono-thermal events in the Jinshajiang fault zone during the Cenozoic. The high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.71771–0.72229) in the scheelite, significantly higher than those of Triassic granites and ore-hosting marble, suggest that the geochemical features of Sch-I are inherited from the parental ore-forming fluids. Cu-Fe (Au), W-Sn (Mo), Pb-Zn (Ag) and other element assemblages are common in many skarn deposits, but examples of Fe and Sn coexistence in nature are relatively rare. The Huanggangliang deposit in the southern Great Xing'an Range is the largest Fe-Sn polymetallic deposit in northern China, and there are five main mining areas (SK Ⅰ–SK Ⅴ) distributed along a SW–NE trend. SK Ⅰ and SK Ⅲ are the two larger mining areas in the Huanggangliang deposit, and their mineral assemblages and wall-rocks are significantly different: cassiterite and metal sulfides are duncommon in SK Ⅰ (andesite), while they are widely distributed in SK Ⅲ (marble). Garnet is widely distributed in SK Ⅰ and SK Ⅲ mining areas, and provides a good opportunity to explore the mechanism of Fe-Sn assemblage differentiation. Three types of garnet are distinguishable (Grt 1, Grt 2 and Grt 3) based on their mineral associations, textures and locations, and they mainly belong to the andradite-grossular solid solution series. The LA–ICP–MS U-Pb ages of the garnets from SK Ⅰ and SK Ⅲ are 136.0 ± 1.2 Ma (n = 25, MSWD = 1.9) and 136.2 ± 2.6 Ma (n = 37, MSWD = 1.8), respectively, suggesting that magmatic-hydrothermal activity in these two mining areas began at the same time. Grt 1 (located deep in SK Ⅰ and SK Ⅲ) and Grt 2 (located shallowly in SK Ⅰ) are mainly andradite, while Grt 3 (located shallowly in SK Ⅲ) is mainly grossular. They are all enriched in high field strength elements (HFSEs) and depleted in large ion lithophile elements (LILEs), and their REE patterns are enriched in light rare earth elements (LREEs) and depleted in heavy rare earth elements (HREEs). However, Grt Ⅰ-1a and 1b (deep garnets in SK Ⅰ) exhibit obvious positive Eu anomalies, while the other garnet types exhibit negative or no obvious Eu anomalies. Additionally, Grt 3 has high contents of V, Sn, U, Th, Zn and Y, and low contents of W and Mo. This pattern implies that the garnets in deep SK Ⅰ may have formed under oxidizing conditions with high temperatures, high oxygen fugacity (f O 2) and weak acidity, while the garnets in shallow SK Ⅲ formed under reducing conditions with moderate temperatures, moderate f O 2 and near-neutral pH. The garnets in shallow SK Ⅰ and deep SK Ⅲ may have formed under weak oxidation–reduction conditions at moderate to high temperatures, moderate f O 2 and weakly acidic to neutral pH conditions. Our newly reported field geological, mineralogical, and geochemical data from garnet suggest that the ore-forming fluids of the Huanggangliang were magmatic-hydrothermal fluids mixed with slightly acidic external fluids, chloride complexes may have been the main transport ligands of REEs. The subduction of the Pacific Plate led to asthenospheric upwelling and thus partial melting of the metasomatized mantle occurred. The REE-bearing initial alkaline magmas were evolved to generate the subsequent exsolution of carbonate melts and REE-rich hydrothermal fluids which existed at relatively shallow depth. Notably, two kinds of REE mineralization occur in the Weishan REE deposit: 1) quartz–barite–carbonate vein type and 2) disseminated and veinlet type. The Weishan REE deposit is one of the largest LREE deposits in China, which is hosted by the Weishan alkaline complex (WSAC) and late Archean gneisses. Two types of mineralization including vein-type and disseminated-type occur in this deposit, of which the former is characterized by large quartz-sulfate-calcite-REE mineral veins cutting all kinds of wallrocks, while the latter is featured by REE minerals disseminated in the alkaline rocks. The vein-type mineralization commonly occurs at shallow depths and has been numerously studied. The disseminated-type mineralization typically occurs at deeper depths, which was newly discovered by drilling exploration and has been poorly studied. In this contribution, zircon U-Pb dating and Hf isotopic analysis as well as whole-rock geochemistry and Sr-Nd isotopic analyses were conducted on the deeply drilled alkaline rocks, combined with molybdenite Re–Os dating on the disseminated ore, with the aim to unravel the petrogenesis of the alkaline rocks and their contributions to the REE mineralization. Zircon U–Pb dating suggests an intrusive age of 119.9 ± 0.9 Ma for the WSAC, which is quite consistent the Re–Os age of 120.0 ± 1.8 Ma for the disseminated ore, corroborating their close genetic correlation. The studied alkaline rocks show enrichment of LILEs, depletion of HFSEs and strong fractionation between LREEs and HREEs, indicating a crustal involvement in the magmas or a metasomatized mantle source. They are characterized by higher Hf (εHf(t) = -6.7 to −12.2) and Nd (εNd(t) = -8.8 to −9.7) isotopic compositions compared with those of the contemporaneous subcontinental lithospheric mantle (SCLM). Based on the above features, it is inferred that the parental magmas of the WSAC were mainly derived from an enriched SCLM with some involvement of asthenospheric mantle-derived materials. The mantle source was likely metasomatized by the subducted Paleo-Pacific oceanic plate, leading to the enrichment of REE and carbonate. Rollback of the oceanic slab during the early Cretaceous resulted in an extensional setting in the study region, which was favorable for partial melting of the metasomatized mantle and thus generated the REE-rich alkaline magmas. [Display omitted] • Garnet U-Pb dating constrains the age of the Lazhushan deposit at ca. 150 Ma. • Fe skarn mineralization in the Edong district started earlier than previously thought. • The Th/U ratio of garnet is a potential redox indicator of ore fluids. Garnet is ubiquitous in skarn deposits. It is a sensitive recorder of physiochemical conditions and also a powerful geochronometer. In this study, we use garnet trace element geochemistry and U-Pb geochronology as well as sulfur isotopes of sulfides to constrain the age and mineralization process of the Lazhushan Fe skarn deposit. Garnets in the Lazhushan Fe skarn belong to the andradite-grossular solution series and yield a compositional range from Adr 47.2 Gro 50.7 to Adr 97.4 Gro 0.9. There are strong correlations between La N /Yb N ratios and andradite contents in garnet, indicating that garnet major element composition exerts a strong control on the REE fractionation. The decrease of HFSEs (Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, and Ti) and Co, V, and Mn concentrations from prograde to retrograde garnets may reflect increasing water/rock ratio and decreasing temperature during skarn evolution, respectively. Co-precipitation with magnetite may be responsible for the low concentration of V in the retrograde garnets. The Th/U ratio increase from endoskarn garnet to exoskarn counterparts, probably reflecting an increase of fluid f O 2 due to interactions with evaporate sulfate from the wall rocks. The sulfides in this deposit are enriched in δ34S (up to 13 ‰), conforming the involvement of evaporate sulfate during Fe skarn mineralization. The incursion of evaporate sulfate may have played an important role in magnetite mineralization for the Lazhushan deposit by increasing fluid f O 2 and facilitating the oxidation of Fe2+ to precipitate magnetite. LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of garnets from 4 garnet-bearing samples yielded ages of 150.8 ± 6.8 Ma (2σ), 150.9 ± 5.3 Ma (2σ), 150.2 ± 7.9 Ma (2σ), and 150 ± 11 Ma (2σ), which are consistent with zircon weighted mean U–Pb ages of 150.1 ± 2.0 Ma (2σ) and 150.5 ± 1.0 Ma (2σ) of the ore-related intrusion. Combined with previously published metallogenetic ages of skarn deposits in the Edong district, we suggest that the Lazhushan deposit may represent the initiation of Fe skarn mineralization for the Edong district during the Late Mesozoic. The East Kunlun Orogenic Belt (E‐KOB) of the northern Tibetan Plateau is an accretionary orogenic belt, which has experienced complicated tectonic evolutionary processes of the Proto‐ to Palaeo‐Tethys Ocean. The Muztagh‐Buqingshan‐Anemaqen ophiolitic mélange zone (MBAM) is an accretionary complex related to the northward subduction of the Tethyan Ocean. Numerous intrusions outcropped in MBAM have witnessed the long‐term subduction‐accretionary process and thus site the key to comprehending the tectonic evolution of the E‐KOB, as well as the Tethyan Ocean. In this study, petrological, geochronological, and geochemical studies of the Marzheng diorites in the MBAM were carried out to explore the Early Palaeozoic tectonic evolution of the E‐KOB. Zircon U–Pb dating analysis suggests that the diorites were formed in the Early Ordovician at ca. 470 Ma. Furthermore, the εHf(t) values (5.3–14.1), Mg# values (39.7–51.2), and Nb/Ta (12.8–14.8), Zr/Hf (33.8–44.8), and Lu/Yb (0.15–0.16) ratios are generally close to those of depleted mantle‐derived rocks and the diorites were originated from a depleted asthenosphere mantle source. In addition, these diorites are characterized by enriched light rare earth elements (LREEs) (La and Nd) and depleted high‐field‐strength elements (HFSEs) (Nb, Ta, P, and Ti), similar to the fingerprints of arc‐related gabbroic‐dioritic rocks. This is also consistent with their high H2Omelt (6.0–8.3%) and oxygen fugacity (logfO2 = −14.3 to −13.5) features, indicating that they were formed in a subduction‐related setting. The Jinchang deposit is a large Au deposit in the Yanbian–Dongning region, in Northeast China, and is the product of magmatic–hydrothermal activities related to Early Cretaceous concealed igneous intrusions. However, these Early Cretaceous ore-causative igneous intrusions and the ore-hosting rocks in the Jinchang ore district have rarely been studied, with their magma sources and tectonic settings being ambiguous. Here, we integrate new geochemical, zircon U–Pb and Hf isotopic data from the concealed ore-hosting monzogranite and the ore-causative granodiorite to constrain their magma sources and tectonic settings. Zircon U–Pb dating indicates that the two monzogranites from the drill holes JIZKN01 and J18ZK0303 have similar crystallization ages of 202.0 ± 1.6 and 200.9 ± 1.2 Ma, respectively, whereas the granodiorite from the drill hole JXI-1ZK1001 was formed in the Early Cretaceous period (107.0 ± 3.0 Ma). They are all enriched in large-ion lithophile elements (e.g., Rb, Th, and K) and light rare-earth elements, depleted in high field strength elements (e.g., Nb, Ta, and Ti) and heavy rare-earth elements, and yield similar positive εHf(t) values of +4.4 to +11.5, with their two-stage model ages ranging from 799 to 389 Ma. These results indicate that the concealed Early Jurassic ore-hosting monzogranite was derived from the partial melting of the Neoproterozoic–Paleozoic continental crust in a continental arc setting related to the Paleo-Pacific subduction. The ore-causative granodiorite originated from the partial melting of both the mantle wedge and the overlying continental crust, most likely caused by the dehydration and metasomatism of the subducted Paleo-Pacific slab involved in the rollback in the Early Cretaceous period. Calc‐alkaline granitoid intrusions with abundant mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) are widespread in the East Kunlun orogenic belt (EKOB). Here, we present petrological observations, zircon U–Pb ages, whole‐rock geochemical, and Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic data for quartz diorites and the MMEs in the Asiha gold ore deposit in the EKOB, to constrain their petrogenesis and tectonic setting. The laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer 206Pb–238U ages of zircons indicate that the host quartz diorites and their MMEs from the Asiha gold deposit crystallized at 228.4 ± 1.7 Ma and 229.0 ± 1.7 Ma, respectively, which is similar to the gold mineralization age. Whole‐rock geochemical data indicate that the quartz diorites are I‐type granites. The MMEs have εHf(t) values of −7.6 to −0.2, −2.1 on average, whereas those of the quartz diorites range from −3.2 to −0.8, with a mean value of −2.1, which is identical within analytical uncertainty. Moreover, the host quartz diorites and their MMEs have relatively homogeneous Sr–Nd isotopic compositions, with high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios and low εNd(t) values ranging from 0.70914 to 0.70963 and from −5.9 to −5.5, respectively. In summary, the MMEs and host quartz diorites have similar geochemical characteristics, indistinguishable Sr–Nd–Hf isotopic composition, and almost simultaneous crystallization age. Geochemical evidence shows that they formed due to the mixing of crust‐ and mantle‐derived magmas. Combined with our new results and published geological, geochronological, and geochemical data, this paper proposes that the EKOB had evolved into a post‐collisional environment at about 230–228 Ma, and the host quartz diorites and their MMEs from the Asiha complex formed in the transitional stage from the syn‐collisional to the post‐collisional setting. The Zhunsujihua porphyry Mo-Cu deposit is located in the Erenhot–East Ujimqin metallogenic belt in northeastern China. Granodioritic intrusions in the mining area are dominated by granodiorite and granodiorite porphyry, but the Mo mineralization is limited within the granodiorite. Zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating yields crystallization ages of 301.5 ± 3.0 Ma for granodiorite and 296.0 ± 3.0 Ma for granodiorite porphyry. These ages constrain the magmatic activity at the Zhunsujihua deposit that took place during the subduction of the Paleo-Asian oceanic plate. Whole-rock geochemical data suggest that the granodioritic intrusions belong to calc-alkaline and high-K calc-alkaline series, and are characterized by enrichment in K, Rb, U, Th, and Pb, and depletion in Nb, Ta, Ti, and P. The negative Eu, Ba, and Sr anomalies suggest that they have experienced extensive fractionation of plagioclase. Trace element compositions of zircons from the Zhunsujihua deposit provide constraints on the oxygen fugacity (ƒO2) of the magma, which is shown to high values with ∆FMQ = +0.5 to +5.6. The wide range of zircon εHf (t) (+1.3~+9.4) values, positive whole-rock εNd (t) (+2.5~+3.9) values, and relatively low initial (87Sr/86Sr)i (0.70367~0.70561) ratios indicate that the magmas mainly originated from a juvenile lower crust source derived from depleted mantle, but mixed with pre-existing crustal components. Moreover, the juvenile lower crust represents the main source of Mo for the Zhunsujihua deposit. The Permian mafic dykes of Santanghu Basin offer an opportunity to study the nature of mantle source and tectonic setting of the basin, as well as to provide the theoretical basis for structural transformation of East Junggar region. In this study, zircon U–Pb geochronology, mineral composition analysis, whole‐rock elemental, and Sr‐Nd isotopic geochemistry were conducted to explore the origin and evolution of the primitive magma. LA‐ICPMS zircon U–Pb dating yields ages at 269 Ma. The elemental geochemistry results suggest enrichments in Ba, Pb, and Sr but depletions in Nb, Ta, Zr, and Hf, which indicate that the magma source was influenced by fluid metasomatism. All samples show moderate initial Sr‐Nd isotope results ((87Sr/86Sr)I = 0.704299 to 0.704490 and εNd(t) = +6.16 to +6.83) and have high Sm/Yb ratios, which suggest that the diabases were derived from partial melting of 5%–7% spinel‐garnet Iherzolite lithospheric mantle. Combined with petrological, geochronological data, and the regional tectonic background, it is interpreted that the diabases from Santanghu Basin originated from lithospheric mantle metasomatized by subduction fluids under the background of intracontinental extension. The Tianshui-Sunjiaxia area is located in the connection zone of West Qinling Orogen and North Qilian Orogen, which could provide great insights into the amalgamation processes between the northern and southern blocks of China. Three subduction- and rift-related rocks gneissic granite from North Qilian arc-interarc belt (NQAI) granite and metabasalt from North Qinling back-arc basin (NQBA) are distinguished across the connection zone. The gneissic granite was generated by melts from older crustal materials of Longshan Group with the addition of a relatively juvenile basaltic source from the lower crust during the collision process. The Liwanxincun metabasalt reflects the mixing of the partial melting of the shallow asthenospheric mantle and the metasomatized mantle in a back-arc extension setting. The LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating of gneissic granite (068, 069) yields crystallization ages of 457.0 ± 1.6 Ma and 445.9 ± 2.1 Ma. The study area is divided into six tectonic units in Early Paleozoic time involving NQAI (Yanjiadian-Xinjie) continental arc, interarc rift basin (Maojiamo-Xiwali), continental arc (Chenjiahe-Wangjiacha); NQBA back-arc rift basin (Huluhe-Hongtubao), island arc and ophiolitic melange belt (North Qinling-Shangdan). A tectonic model is proposed in which the NQAI continental arc (Yanjiadian-Xinjie) might represent the early period of subduction of North Qilian Ocean (NQO) and the interarc rift is the product of the extension triggered by southward subduction of NQO. The ongoing subduction of NQO then leads to the formation of Chenjiahe-Wangjiacha continental arc, as well as the Hongtubao back-arc spreading ridge in NQBA back-arc basin (Huluhe). The tectonic evolution of the connection zone is closely associated with the closure of the North Qilian Ocean and North Qinling-Shangdan Ocean in the context of the convergence process of micro-continental blocks, including North China block, Longshan group and North Qinling Terrane. The Au mineralization in the giant Jiaodong Au province is enigmatic and difficult to fit current classic mineralization models, primarily because of uncertainties as to the sources of ore-forming fluids and metals. The ca. 120 Ma Au mineralization has been previously proposed to have occurred during a magmatic lull, which would negate a magmatic-hydrothermal genetic model. However, recent drilling has revealed a buried mineralized monzonite equivalent in age to the Au mineralization in the Linglong goldfield. Here, we present comprehensive textural, geochemical [LA-(MC)-ICP-MS trace element, Nd and S isotopes] and geochronological (LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating) analyses of titanite and pyrite from this previously unrecognized monzonite. Three types of titanite were distinguished, including magmatic Ttn1 and hydrothermal Ttn2 and Ttn3, which show indistinguishable U-Pb ages (120.7 ± 3.1 and 120.9 ± 2.6 Ma), REE patterns and Nd isotopes [εNd(t) = –14.7 to –12.9], implying that hydrothermal fluids were directly exsolved from the monzonitic magma, contemporaneous with the large-scale Au mineralization at ca. 120 Ma. The Nd isotopes of titanite potentially indicate a lower crustal source mixed with mantle materials for the monzonite. Four types of pyrite were analyzed, including magmatic Py1 from fresh biotite monzonite, hydrothermal Py2 from altered biotite monzonite, hydrothermal Py3 from quartz-pyrite veins with a monazite U-Pb age of 118.2 ± 4.6 Ma, and magmatic Py4 from mafic enclaves of the Gushan granite at ca.120 Ma. The δ34S values of magmatic Py1 and Py4 (+1.9 to +6.3‰, and +5.0 to +6.4‰, respectively) and hydrothermal Py2 and Py3 (+6.4 to +9.5‰ and +6.5 to +7.6‰, respectively) are consistent with sulfur isotopic fractionation between melt and fluid. Hydrothermal Py2 and Py3 also have higher Co, As, Ag, Sb, and Bi contents and submicrometer gold inclusions, implying that the magmatic-hydrothermal fluids were fertile for mineralization. This study highlights the importance of monzonite magmatism and exsolved fertile fluids in regional Au mineralization. Hydrous magmas at ca. 120 Ma probably extracted Au eficiently from the lower crustal-mantle sources and released auriferous fluids at the late magmatic stage, leading to the formation of Au deposits in the Jiaodong province. Early Jurassic Kaoshan medium‐ and fine‐grained syenogranites emplaced along the Yitong–Shulan Fault Zone in the southern part the Zhangguangcai Range, central Jilin Province, intruded Middle Triassic granitoids and Carboniferous‐Devonian intrusive rocks. They have medium‐ and fine‐grained textures and contain K‐feldspar, quartz, plagioclase, and biotite. They are peraluminous (A/CNK = 1.13–1.20) and have high values of SiO2 (74.60–75.82 wt%), total alkalis (Na2O + K2O = 8.28–9.18 wt%), light rare earth elements (20.89–56.14 ppm), large‐ion lithophile elements, and FeO/MgO = 2.78–5.93. In contrast, they feature low values of CaO (0.40–0.49 wt%), TiO2 (0.05–0.14 wt%), P2O5 (0.02–0.04 wt%), Sr (24.20–62.59 ppm), heavy rare earth elements (5.14–11.80 ppm), high‐field‐strength elements, and δEu (0.41–0.76), and the calculated zircon saturation temperatures (Tzr) range from 804 to 870°C, all of which are similar to the geochemical signatures of anorogenic A1‐type granites. Zircon U–Pb geochronology analyses from the medium‐ and fine‐grained syenogranites yield concordia ages of 193.18 ± 0.95 Ma (MSWD = 6.7, n = 18) and 190.29 ± 0.92 Ma (MSWD = 8.7, n = 17), respectively, and belong to the Early Jurassic Sinemurian stage. In situ Hf isotope analyses of dated zircons yield εHf(t) values ranging from +17.0 to +9.7 and Hf model ages (TDMC) of 225–614 Ma. Their whole‐rock (87Sr/86Sr)i (0.704740–0.704133) and εNd(t) values (+2.8 to +0.2) are similar to those of many coeval A2‐type granites in this region, and they form an A‐type granite assemblage. Consequently, the Kaoshan medium‐ and fine‐grained syenogranites were probably derived from partial melting of juvenile lower crust and might be related to the subduction of the Palaeo‐Pacific Plate. The southern Jiangxi Province is an important part of the fluorite mineralization belt in South China. Fluorite ore bodies are primarily in the contact zone between the Devonian Huitong granitic complex and the Late Cretaceous Ganzhou Formation, controlled by the NE‐trending faults. Zircon U–Pb dating of the Huitong granitic complex yields emplacement ages of 410.7 ± 1.4 Ma and 400.7 ± 4.6 Ma, while the Sm–Nd dating of the fluorite yields an isochron age of 94 ± 2 Ma, suggesting that the Huitong granitic complex is the host rock. Fluid inclusions in the fluorite show low homogenization temperatures (136–207°C), salinities (1.23–3.87 wt% NaCl), and densities (0.87–0.95 g/cm3), suggesting that the ore‐forming fluid is an NaCl‐H2O system of low temperature, salinity, and density. Raman spectroscopy showed that the fluid phase is dominated by water. The δDVSMOW values of the fluid inclusions in the Tongda fluorite ranged between −59.5 and −55.2‰, while the δ18OVSMOW values of the fluorite ranged from −7.2 to −5.6‰. Collectively, the ore‐forming fluid is dominated by meteoric water, possibly with a minor contribution of hydrothermal fluid. Both the interaction with host rocks and the cooling of hydrothermal fluids are the likely mechanisms of underlaying fluorite precipitation at low temperatures. [Display omitted] • The Xiaolonghe and Lailishan Sn deposits in the Tengchong-Lianghe tin belt formed in oceanic subduction and continental collisional settings, respectively. • The Sn-related granitoids from the two deposits have very similar magma sources, melting temperatures, evolution processes, redox states, and volatile contents. • The specific mechanism triggering mantle upwelling could be the most significant difference between the formation of Sn-related granitoids in subduction versus collision processes. Magmatic-hydrothermal Sn deposits can develop in both subduction and collision settings. However, a systematic comparison of the geochemical fingerprints and petrogenetic evolution of Sn-related granitoids from both settings is still lacking. The Tengchong-Lianghe tin belt hosts numerous Sn deposits but of different metallogenic ages, such as the Xiaolonghe and Lailishan Sn deposits, which provide an ideal study area for addressing this issue. Zircon U–Pb dating suggests that the Xiaolonghe and Lailishan Sn-related granitoids were emplaced at 74.2–75.5 and 50.0–51.1 Ma, respectively. Given the initial India-Asia collision commenced at ca. 65–60 Ma, these ages, consistent with available Sn metallogenic ages, suggest the formation of the Xiaolonghe and Lailishan Sn deposits in subduction and collisional settings, respectively. New zircon and apatite compositions, and apatite Sr isotopic data, combined with previously reported whole-rock geochemical results, all indicate that the Xiaolonghe and Lailishan Sn-related granitoids share similar magma sources, evolution processes, redox states, and volatile contents. The presence of hornblende, high apatite Nd N /Nd N * (mostly > 1), and whole-rock evolutionary trends, together indicate that they represent fractionated I-type granites. Distinctly elevated apatite 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.70988–0.71430) suggest that they originated from an ancient lower crust. Subsequently, they underwent an extensive fractional crystallization dominated by feldspar, as revealed by whole-rock, apatite, and zircon elemental variation trends. The low zircon Ce N /Ce N * (mainly < 200) and ΔFMQ (–1.9 to 1.7), together with elevated apatite F content (2.30–3.69 wt%), reveal that they crystallized from reduced and F-rich magmas. The relatively high whole-rock zircon saturation temperatures (mainly > 800 ℃) and Ba/Pb ratios imply that they were produced at a higher temperature by biotite-dehydration melting, which requires additional heat from the mantle. The specific mechanism that triggers mantle upwelling (oceanic slab subduction or break-off) could be the most significant difference between Sn-related granitoids formed during subduction and collision processes. Garnet is one of the most typical minerals in skarn deposits, and its texture and composition is a proxy for the changing physicochemical conditions. Thus, mineralogical and geochemical characterization of different garnet types can provide important information on the nature and evolution of ore-forming fluids. The Beiya gold-polymetallic deposit is China's largest skarn-type Au deposit with Au reserves of >380 t. Although several studies have addressed the skarn formation mechanism and nature of fluid evolution, a systematic study on the changes in the composition and texture of garnet from wall rocks to ore-related intrusion has not yet been attempted. In this work, we carry out a systematic investigation along a horizonal profile in the open pit of the Beiya deposit. Our results show that the garnet in the profile belongs to grossular-andradite solid solution series with all grains showing well-developed fine oscillatory zoning. The garnets are of two types: the first type (Grt I) formed within the endoskarn, is reddish to red with euhedral-subhedral megacryst structure (>10 mm) and has altered surfaces. The second type (Grt II) occur in the proximal exoskarn, is red to brown–red, euhedral-subhedral, with medium- to fine- grained structure (0.3–4 mm) and displaying oscillatory zoning. Unlike Grt I, hydrous minerals occur in the pores among Grt II garnets, such as calcite, quartz, epidote and chlorite. Also, calcite-chlorite vein, quartz vein and quartz-chalcopyrite-pyrite vein cuts the Grt II garnets. Grt I is dominantly grossular (Adr 14.88-43.58 Grs 55.25-82.87), depleted in the large ion lithophile elements (LILE), relatively enriched in high field strength elements (HFSEs) and enriched in heavy rare earth elements (HREEs) with negative Eu anomalies. Grt II is mostly andradite (Adr 62.18-98.91 Grs 0-36.22), depleted in the LILE and HFSE, enriched in light rare earth elements (LREEs) with slightly positive Eu anomalies. Here we selected Grt II for in-situ LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating, since Grt I contains negligible uranium. The results yielded a lower intercept 206Pb/238U age of 35.3 ± 1.8 Ma (MSWD = 0.68, n = 23). The calculated oxygen isotopic compositions of hydrothermal fluids in equilibrium with two types of garnets range from 6.46 ‰ to 8.56 ‰ (average 7.89 ‰), which are within the range of values for magmatic fluids. We infer that the physicochemical conditions of the hydrothermal fluid changed from relatively reduced, nearly neutral, and low water/rock ratios to slightly oxidized, slightly acidic, and high water/rock ratios. The chlorine content in the fluid increased during garnet growth. The fluctuating compositions of garnets in the skarn suggest multistage ore-fluid activities and the fluid evolution provide insights into the ore-forming process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Late Mesozoic extensional mechanisms in the Great Xing'an Range (GXR) and relevant crust–mantle interactions are complicated, which result in widespread magmatisms with diverse parental origins and petrogenesises. In this paper, we present the lithology, whole‐rock geochemistry, and zircon U–Pb–Lu–Hf isotopes for granodiorite‐monzogranite rocks (GM) and their enclaves of quartz monzodiorites in the Zhalantun area, east of central GXR. Zircon U–Pb dating results reveal that both GM rocks and their enclaves of quartz monzodiorites yield a nearly identical crystallization age of ~125 Ma. The GM rocks exhibit weak peraluminous and high‐K calc‐alkaline compositions with high SiO2, Na2O + K2O, and Al2O3 contents, and low MgO, Mg#, Fe2O3T, and TiO2 contents, which are characterized by fractionated REE patterns, relatively strong negative Eu anomalies, enrichments of LILEs (e.g., Rb, Ba, and K), and depletions of Nb, Ta, P, and Ti. The parental origins for GM samples were juvenile crustal materials, with positive zircon εHf(t) values of +2.5 to +12.9. The whole‐rock and zircon geochemical simulations limit slightly lower GM magma crystallization temperatures (TTi‐Zrn) of 683–824°C and relatively more oxidizing conditions (log(fO2) = FMQ+7.6–FMQ‐6.8), and further confine that they were probably formed by ~10–35% degrees of fluid‐present partial melting of lower to middle crustal materials, with fractional crystallization and/or residual mineral phases of plagioclase, amphibole, clinopyroxene, and garnet. By contrast, the enclaves of quartz monzodiorites possess lower SiO2 and Na2O + K2O compositions, but higher MgO, Mg#, Fe2O3T, and TiO2 values, which are consistent with metaluminous–weak peraluminous and high‐K calc‐alkaline series. All quartz monzodiorites exhibit sub‐parallel right‐declined REE patterns, negligible to none Eu anomalies, enrichments of LILEs, and depletions of Nb, Ta, and Ti. Combined with mineral morphology and disequilibrium structures, the whole‐rock geochemical and Hf isotopic simulations imply that parental magmas for quartz monzodiorites were hybrid mixtures between ~50% host GM acid magmas and ~50% ancient crust compositions, with a wide range of zircon εHf(t) of +14.0 to −7.7, slightly higher TTi‐Zrn of 710–835°C, and lower log(fO2) of FMQ+8.2–FMQ‐10.5. Taken together, felsic plutons in the Zhalantun area correspond to an episode of extensional mechanism‐related crust–mantle interactions, which might be induced by either the Mongol‐Okhotsk domain or Palaeo‐Pacific tectonic domain, or both of them. Baddeleyite (ZrO2) is a common late‐stage accessory mineral in basaltic shergottites and is a robust geochronometer for obtaining igneous crystallization ages via high‐precision in situ SIMS U‐Pb analysis. Amenability to SIMS U‐Pb dating depends in large part on the size and abundance of baddeleyite grains, which are generally surveyed using microbeam methods. We examine the petrography, mineralogy, geochemistry, and baddeleyite distribution in eight basaltic shergottites to identify factors that may be used to predict baddeleyite distribution in unknown samples of Mars. Results suggest that fractional crystallization controls baddeleyite occurrence in shergottites to the first order; samples with pyroxene major element compositions extending beyond the 1‐bar stability boundary generally have higher baddeleyite abundance compared with samples with pyroxene compositions terminating at or before the stability boundary. In samples which display two pyroxene composition trends (high‐Ca and low‐Ca), the largest baddeleyite grains tend to be associated with Fe‐Ti oxides; in samples where pyroxene composition forms a continuous trend extending beyond the 1‐bar stability boundary, the largest baddeleyite grains are typically associated with polymineralic late‐stage pockets. Bulk HFSE content and fO2 do not appear to directly influence baddeleyite distribution. Based on our findings, we propose that pyroxene composition is a useful proxy for assessing baddeleyite abundance and distribution in shergottites and may aid in determining a sample's feasibility for U‐Pb geochronology prior to conducting detailed surveys for baddeleyite characterization.
