Educational institutions can implement the ISO 45001 management system to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all individuals involved. This article proposes a gap analysis method to identify gaps between the existing and desired health and safety conditions in an educational institution. To test the applicability of the method, data from a sample of five high schools in the Merzifon District of Amasya Province in Turkey were used. The results of the gap analysis reveal a notable gap between the existing occupational health and safety conditions and the standards proposed by ISO 45001 in some of the selected educational institutions. Purpose We aimed to document the acceptability (enrollment rate) and feasibility (phone call delivery rate) of implementing a behavioral PA intervention over 12 weeks, in addition to documenting its effects on patient-reported outcomes and physical functioning. This study also describes the costs of carrying out a behavioral PA intervention. A total of 40 participants were randomized in a 1:1 ratio. The tailored behavioral PA intervention was developed based on the most recent PA guidelines in pediatric oncology and on the COM-B framework to enact PA behavior changes. The prescription (frequency, intensity, time and type (FITT)) was adjusted each week during the weekly support calls. The control group did not receive the intervention. 26 males and 14 females (13.6 years old on average and 2.9 years post-cancer treatment on average) participated in our study. The acceptability rate was 90.9% and the feasibility rate was > 85%. We found that 85% improved PA frequency, 80% improved PA intensity, 100% improved PA time, and 50.0% achieved the recommended PA guidelines. No adverse events were reported over the duration of the intervention. Physical function improved with longer 6-minute walk distances in the intervention group (465.8 ± 74.5 m) than in the control group (398.7 ± 92.9 m) (p = 0.016). PROs scores for all participants were within the limits of the normal range. The estimated cost per participant of carrying out this intervention was USD $126.57. Our 12-week behavioral PA intervention, based on the COM-B framework, was found to be acceptable, feasible and safe in childhood cancer survivors. Childhood adversity is linked to psychological, behavioral, and physical health problems, including obesity and cardiometabolic disease. Epigenetic alterations are one pathway through which the effects of early life stress and adversity might persist into adulthood. Epigenetic mechanisms have also been proposed to explain why cardiometabolic health can vary greatly between individuals with similar Body Mass Index (BMIs). We evaluated two independent cross-sectional cohorts of adults without known medical illness, one of which explicitly recruited individuals with early life stress (ELS) and control participants (n = 195), and the other a general community sample (n = 477). In these cohorts, we examine associations between childhood adversity, epigenetic aging, and metabolic health. Childhood adversity was associated with increased GrimAge Acceleration (GAA) in both cohorts, both utilizing a dichotomous yes/no classification (both p < 0.01) as well as a continuous measure using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) (both p < 0.05). Further investigation demonstrated that CTQ subscales for physical and sexual abuse (both p < 0.05) were associated with increased GAA in both cohorts, whereas physical and emotional neglect were not. In both cohorts, higher CTQ was also associated with higher BMI and increased insulin resistance (both p < 0.05). Finally, we demonstrate a moderating effect of BMI on the relationship between GAA and insulin resistance where GAA correlated with insulin resistance specifically at higher BMIs. These results, which were largely replicated between two independent cohorts, suggest that interactions between epigenetics, obesity, and metabolic health may be important mechanisms through which childhood adversity contributes to long-term physical and metabolic health effects. Background: Occupational Bloodborne Exposures (OBEs) are incidents where healthcare workers come into contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials, leading to risks of transmitting bloodborne pathogens. Nursing students, often in direct contact with patients, face heightened risks due to their duties. Methods: First, we conducted a cross-sectional survey using a OBEs questionnaire to explore the knowledge, attitudes, practices, and needs regarding OBEs among nursing students. Subsequently, we used a randomized controlled trial (RCT) to compare the impact of the Presentation-Assimilation-Discussion (PAD) method with the traditional lecture-based learning (LBL) method on OBEs education for nursing students. Pre-test, post-test, and retention test were used to observe the teaching effectiveness, and the students' feedback on the teaching method was also observed. Results: In the cross-sectional survey, we found that nursing students lacked sufficient knowledge and management skills regarding OBEs but recognized the importance of standard precautions and expressed a desire for systematic OBEs training during their education and internships. In the RCT, the total, theoretical, and practical scores of the PAD and LBL groups were comparable in the pre-test (56.70 ± 3.47 vs. 56.40 ± 3.95, 33.09 ± 3.39 vs. 33.33 ± 2.44, 23.61 ± 4.66 vs. 23.07 ± 4.84, p > 0.05). After training, the PAD model demonstrated an advantage over the LBL model in immediate total (84.25 ± 4.06 vs. 78.95 ± 4.23, p < 0.001), theoretical (54.32 ± 2.43 vs. 51.44 ± 2.58, p < 0.001), and practical scores (29.93 ± 3.90 vs. 27.51 ± 4.33, p < 0.01). It also showed superior retention of total (69.05 ± 3.87 vs. 65.77 ± 2.94, p < 0.001) and theoretical scores (39.05 ± 3.05 vs. 36.23 ± 3.18, p < 0.001). However, there was no significant difference in the retention of practical scores between the two groups (30.00 ± 4.76 vs. 29.53 ± 3.73, p > 0.05). The PAD group benefited more across various learning dimensions but reported a higher study load. Aim: We aimed to examine the relationships among nurses' career compromise, job satisfaction, and turnover intention and the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between career compromise and turnover intention. Background: Nurses are prone to career compromise when there is a discrepancy between the reality of their job and their personal career expectations due to personal or family factors. High levels of career compromise may have a significant impact on turnover intentions through low job satisfaction, thereby affecting the stability of the nursing workforce. There is a paucity of research on the impact of nurses' career compromise on turnover intentions. Method: This was a cross-sectional research design of nurses in hospitals in Guangdong Province using a convenience sampling method. The Career Compromise Scale (CCS), Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS), and Turnover Intention Scale (TIS) were used. The obtained data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, Spearman's correlation coefficient, and the mediating effect of perceived organizational support was tested through the PROCESS macro mediation model in SPSS. Results: Data from 821 nurses who met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The total score of nurses' turnover intention was 14.68 ± 4.32. Spearman's correlation analysis showed that career compromise was negatively correlated with job satisfaction (r = -0.594, p < 0.01), job satisfaction was negatively correlated with turnover intention (r = -0.471, p < 0.01), and career compromise was positively correlated with turnover intention (r = 0.544, p < 0.01). The mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between career compromise and turnover intention has been demonstrated. The mediating effect is significant, with a value of 0.056, representing 25.71% of the total effect. Conclusions: The turnover intention of nurses in Guangdong Province is high. Job satisfaction mediated the relationship between career compromise and turnover intention. This study further enriches JD-R theory and COR theory and provides new perspectives for nurse managers to develop intervention strategies to stabilize the nursing workforce and reduce turnover. Background: Cognitive impairment presents in both adolescent-onset(ado-OP) and adult-onset psychosis(adu-OP). Age and neurodevelopmental factors likely contribute to cognitive differences. This study aimed to characterize cognitive functions in ado-OP compared to adu-OP in a clinical population with drug-naive first-episode psychosis(FEP). Methods: A total of 788 drug-naive patients with FEP and 774 sex- and age-matched healthy controls(HCs) were included. Participants were divided into four groups by whether they were under or over 21 years of age: adolescent-onset FEP(ado-FEP, n = 380), adult-onset FEP(adu-FEP, n = 408), adolescent HC(ado-HC, n = 334), and adult HC(adu-HC, n = 440). Comprehensive cognitive assessments were performed using the MATRICS Cognitive Consensus Battery(MCCB), covers six cognitive domains: speed of processing, attention/vigilance, working memory, verbal learning, visual learning, reasoning, and problem-solving. Data analyses were conducted using correlation analyses and binary logistic regression. Results: The patterns of cognitive domain differences between ado-FEP and adu-FEP were found to be similar to those between ado-HC and adu-HC, whereas cognitive impairments appeared to be more pronounced in patients with adu-OP than ado-OP. The mazes subtest had the maximum effect size(ES) in the FEP(ES = 0.37) and HC(ES = 0.30) groups when comparing the adolescent and adult groups. Cognitive subtests were mostly significantly correlated with negative symptoms, especially for adolescents with FEP, in which all the subtests were significantly correlated with negative symptoms in the ado-FEP group. Better performance in the domains of spatial cognition and problem-solving abilities was more likely in the ado-FEP group than in the adu-FEP group. Conclusions: These findings suggest cognitive differences between adolescents and adults but similar patterns of affected domains in HCs and patients with FEP. Background: Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) offers quantitative insights into the hardness and elasticity characteristics of tissues. The objective of this study is to investigate the correlation between SWE of the menisci and MRI-assessed degenerative changes in the menisci, with the aim of providing novel reference source for improving non-invasive evaluation of meniscal degenerative alterations. Methods: The participants in this study were selected from patients who underwent knee joint MRI scans at our hospital from February 2023 to February 2024. The anterior horns of both the medial and lateral menisci were evaluated using SWE technique. The differences in elastic values of meniscus among different MRI grades were compared. The correlation between elastic values and MRI grades, as well as various parameters, was analyzed. Using MRI Grade 3 as the gold standard, the optimal cutoff value for meniscal tear was determined. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was employed to evaluate the reliability of repeated measurements performed by the same observer. Results: A total of 104 female participants were enrolled in this study, with 152 lateral menisci (LM) and 144 medial menisci (MM) assessed. For the male group, 83 individuals were included, with 147 LM and 145 MM evaluated. The results demonstrated statistically significant differences in the elasticity values of the menisci at the same anatomical sites across different MRI grades (P < 0.001). Within the same grade, the MM had higher elasticity values than the LM, showing a statistically significant difference (P < 0.001). The elasticity values of the menisci were higher in males compared to females. There were statistically significant positive correlations between the elasticity values of the menisci and age, BMI, and MRI grade. The ICC for repeated measurements within the observer demonstrated good reliability (> 0.79). Conclusions: The meniscal elasticity values measured by SWE exhibit a significant positive correlation with the grades of degeneration assessed by MRI. Purpose: To investigate the clinical efficacy of endoscopic debridement combined with compression suture in the treatment of aseptic olecranon bursitis. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 28 patients, including 25 males and 3 females, who underwent endoscopic debridement combined with compression suture for the treatment of aseptic olecranon bursitis at Huzhou Central Hospital from February 2017 to January 2024. Visual analogue scale (VAS) scores, Mayo elbow function scores, complications, recurrence rates and wound scars were evaluated to assess the treatment efficacy. Results: The average follow-up time was 12 ± 5 months (range: 5–22 months). The VAS score was slightly greater on postoperative day 1 than preoperatively, but this difference was not statistically significant. Compared with the preoperative level, the VAS score was significantly lower at 2 weeks post-surgery, and the patients were generally free of pain. The patients' Mayo elbow function score was significantly improved at 2 weeks after the operation, and their elbow function was generally normal at 1 month after the operation. At the final follow-up, no recurrence or obvious scarring was found in any of the patients, and all of them exhibited normal elbow function without any reported pain. Conclusion: Endoscopic debridement combined with compression suture for the treatment of aseptic olecranon bursitis has several advantages: simple operation, minimal invasiveness, minimal postoperative pain, rapid recovery, a low recurrence rate, and satisfactory overall efficacy. Background: Heterotopic ossification (HO) is a frequent complication of joint trauma or surgery, commonly occurring after hip replacements, acetabular or other joint injuries, or surgeries. Indomethacin has long been used to prevent HO and is considered the first-line therapy. However, its effectiveness and necessity for HO prevention are still debated due to mixed evidence about its efficacy and potential side effects. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, this systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated randomized controlled trials using the PICO framework. Searches were conducted across PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science. Data were extracted and assessed based on the evidence levels of the selected articles. This study was registered with the International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols (INPLASY). Results: This analysis included 665 patients, with 347 in the Indomethacin group and 318 in the No Indomethacin group. The outcomes analyzed—HO, Gastrointestinal Side Effects, and Bone Ununion—indicated that indomethacin effectively prevents HO. The meta-analysis revealed that the Indomethacin group experienced a significant reduction in the occurrence of grade I-II HO compared to the No Indomethacin group, but not for grade III-IV HO. Gastrointestinal side effects were notably higher in the Indomethacin group. The incidence of bone nonunion was higher in the Indomethacin group, although not statistically significant. Conclusions: The meta-analysis suggests that indomethacin is effective in preventing HO, particularly for Brooker grade I-II, rather than Brooker grade III-IV. Special attention should be given to gastrointestinal complications when using indomethacin. Further prospective randomized controlled studies are required to confirm these findings. Objectives: The incidence of hemidiaphragmatic paresis (HDP) in superior trunk block (STB) usually depends on the dose of local anesthetic. This study aimed to further evaluate the impact of a lower volume (10 mL) of the same low concentration (0.25%) ropivacaine compared to a conventional volume (15 mL), on diaphragmatic function and analgesic efficacy under a multimodal analgesia regimen for shoulder arthroscopy. Methods: Patients scheduled to undergo shoulder arthroscopy were randomized allocated to receive either 10 mL or 15 mL of 0.25% ropivacaine in the STB under ultrasound guidance prior to general anesthesia. The primary outcome was the percentage reduction in diaphragm excursion (ΔDE) between baseline and 30 min after block. Secondary outcomes included DE and diaphragm thickening fraction (DTF) before and after block, incidence of HDP, onset of sensory/motor block, duration of analgesia/motor block, dermatomal coverage area of the block, postoperative pain severity, pre- and post-block respiratory function and intraoperative hemodynamic parameters, the use of other anesthetic and analgesic drugs, post-block complications, and adverse events post-surgery. Results: Compared with 15 mL volume, 10 mL ropivacaine significantly reduced the incidence of post-block HDP (as measured by ΔDE: 39.47% vs. 64.10%; and by post-block DTF: 13.16% vs. 33.33%). There was no significant difference in onset of sensory block, duration of analgesia/motor block, dermatomal coverage area of the block, postoperative pain severity between the two groups, except that the onset of motor block was significantly slower in the 10 mL group than in the 15 mL group. Pre- and post-block respiratory function and intraoperative hemodynamic parameters, the use of other anesthetic and analgesic drugs, post-block complications, or postoperative adverse events were not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: In shoulder arthroscopy, STB with 10 mL of ropivacaine can reduce the incidence of HDP with no significant difference in analgesic effects under a multimodal analgesia regimen compared with 15 mL. Background: Aims of this study were to compare the functional and radiographic results, perioperative complication after lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (LUKA) with total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and the legacy constrained condylar knee (LCCK) arthroplasty for the treatment of lateral compartmental knee osteoarthritis (LCKOA), and to provide a basis for the treatment of LCKOA. Methods: From January 2021 to January 2024, analyzed retrospectively clinical data of 74 patients with LCKOA treated with LUKA, TKA and LCCK arthroplasty. According to the operation plan, the patients were divided into three groups: LUKA group (23 cases), TKA group (23 cases) and LCCK group (28 cases). The changes of hip-knee-ankle (HKA) angle of the affected knee before and after operation were measured. All patients were assessed using the operation time, blood loss during operation, incision length, visual analogue scale (VAS) score before operation and after operation, Hospital for Special Surgery score (HSS), Oxford Knee Score (OKS), range of motion (ROM). Results: All 74 patients were followed up for (2.38 ± 0.33) years. The operation time, blood loss during operation, incision length and VAS score after operation in the LUKA group were significantly less than those in the TKA group and LCCK group (P < 0.05); HKA valgus angle, ROM, HSS score and OKS score of the three groups after operation were significantly better than those before operation (P < 0.05); There was no significant difference among the three groups in HSS score and OKS score (P > 0.05). Conclusion: LUKA, TKA and LCCK arthroplasty have good clinical effect in the treatment of LCKOA; Compared with TKA and LCCK arthroplasty, LUKA has the advantages of less trauma, less bleeding, less pain and quick recovery. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of mind-body exercise (MBE) interventions, including Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, and Qigong, in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), a systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted. Methods: Eight electronic databases were searched from their inception to May 2024. RevMan 5.4 and Stata 16.0 software were used for statistical analysis. Outcome measures included Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI), Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life (ASQoL) Scale, and adverse events. The methodological quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Cochrane risk of bias (RoB) tool (2.0). The certainty of evidence for each outcome was evaluated using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) criteria. Results: Of the 330 studies retrieved, 15 studies satisfied the criteria for meta-analysis. Compared with the controls, MBE interventions significantly improved physical function (measured by BASFI, MD = -0.76, 95% CI: -1.01 to -0.50, P < 0.00001), disease activity (measured by BASDAI, MD = -0.76, 95% CI: -0.94 to -0.57, P < 0.00001), pain intensity (measured by VAS, MD = -0.89, 95% CI: -1.21 to -0.57, P < 0.00001), spinal mobility (measured by BASMI, MD = -0.44, 95% CI: -0.70 to -0.19, P = 0.0006), and quality of life (measured by ASQoL, MD = -2.14, 95% CI: -3.54 to -0.75, P = 0.003). Subgroup analyses revealed that Tai Chi appeared to demonstrate a more pronounced effect on pain reduction when compared to Qigong (test for subgroup difference: P = 0.005). The quality of evidence for these outcomes was estimated as moderate to low. Additionally, no serious adverse events related to MBE were identified among the included studies. Conclusions: Overall, MBE may be a promising non-pharmacological treatment to improve physical function, disease activity, pain intensity, spinal mobility, and quality of life in patients with axSpA. Background: High-risk human papillomaviruses are the causal agents of a subset of head and neck cancers. A previous transcriptomic analysis showed that cIAP2 protein, involved in cell survival and apoptosis, is upregulated in OKF6 oral cells that express HPV16 E6/E7. In addition, cIAP2 promotes radioresistance, a very important concern in HNC treatment. However, cIAP2 increase has not yet been evaluated in oropharyngeal carcinomas (OPCs), nor has been the role of cIAP2 in HNC radioresistance. Methods: We carried out a descriptive-analytical retrospective study in 49 OPCs from Chilean patients. We determined the expression of cIAP2 at transcript and proteins levels using reverse-transcriptase -polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry, respectively. HPV and p16 expression were previously analyzed in these specimens. In addition, SCC-143 HNC cells ectopically expressing HPV16 E6/E7 were analyzed for cIAP2 expression and after transfection with a siRNA for HPV16 E6/E7 knocking down. Results: We found a statistically significant association between HPV presence and cIAP2 expression (p = 0.0032 and p = 0.0061, respectively). An association between p16 and cIAP2 levels was also found (p = 0.038). When SCC-143 cells were transfected with a construct expressing HPV16 E6/E7, the levels of cIAP2 were significantly increased (p = 0.0383 and p = 0.0115, respectively). Conversely, HPV16 E6 and E7 knocking down resulted in a decrease of cIAP2 levels (p = 0.0161 and p = 0.006, respectively). Finally, cIAP2 knocking down in HPV16 E6/E7 cells resulted in increased apoptosis after exposure to radiation at 4 and 8 Gy (p = 0.0187 and p = 0.0061, respectively). Conclusion: This study demonstrated for the first time a positive relationship between HPV presence and cIAP2 levels in OPCs. Additionally, cIAP2 knocking down sensitizes HNC cells to apoptosis promoted by radiation. Therefore, cIAP2 is a potential therapeutic target for radiation in HPV-driven HNC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High nurse turnover is a worldwide problem that was exacerbated by COVID‐19, leading to further staffing shortages and negatively affecting patient care quality. Although options to minimize nurse turnover are frequently discussed, and high levels of work‐family conflict are known to increase turnover intentions while high levels of work engagement are associated with lower turnover intentions, not much is known about how the two interact to affect turnover intentions. This study investigated the impact of work‐family conflict, work engagement, and their interaction on turnover intentions among Japanese hospital nurses. A cross‐sectional design was employed. Hobfoll's conservation of resources theory was applied as the theoretical framework. A total of 827 nurses working at public or similar to public hospitals in the Tokyo metropolitan area participated in a web‐based survey. The survey included personal characteristics, turnover intentions, the Japanese version of the Work‐Family Conflict Scale, and the Work Engagement Scale of the New Simplified Work Stress Questionnaire. Correlation analysis, hierarchical multiple regression analysis, and simple slope analysis were used to examine the associations among turnover intention, work‐family conflict, and work engagement, and their interactions. A significance level of 0.05 (two‐tailed) was chosen. Analysis of 124 data sets revealed an average participant age of 40.0 years, with 94.4% being female. Hierarchical multiple regression identified significant relationships among work‐family conflict, work engagement, work‐family conflict x work engagement, full‐time employment, marital status, and having children. Simple slope analysis demonstrated a significant positive link between work‐family conflict and turnover intention, irrespective of work engagement level, with the effect of work‐family conflict buffered by high work engagement. Work‐family conflict must be reduced to minimize nurse turnover, but given the buffering effect of work engagement, measures to increase work engagement should be promoted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Various virtual education methods, in addition to encouraging student-centered learning, positively impact the development of personal capabilities and improvement of students' personality growth, especially when e-learning is combined with traditional education. Aim: The present study is a semi-experimental study that Impact of Blended Teaching on Academic Achievement and Well-being in Operating Room Students. Methods: This semi-experimental study, conducted over one academic semester, involved pre-test and post-test assessments with 44 operating room students in two university centers. Participants were selected through a census method and assigned to control and intervention groups. Data collection tools included the Hermance's Academic Achievement and Hein's Academic Well-being questionnaires. Results: The results of this study indicated a statistically significant difference in the level of well-being before and after the intervention, demonstrating a significant improvement in well-being in the Blended Teaching group after the intervention (P < 0.01). Independent t-tests showed no statistically significant difference in the mean score of academic achievement between the two groups after the intervention. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, blended teaching led to an increase in academic well-being in undergraduate students. To improve the level of academic well-being of students, educational policy makers should consider ways to educate students about new educational approaches. Prioritizing strategies in using educational methods may enhance academic well-being and leading to positive educational outcomes and fostering qualified and competent care in the nursing profession. Teaching clinical skills needs repetition, daily practice and continuous use to be internalized and become a habit. It may be that due to the short period of time and the absence of the first-semester students in clinical courses and fields, the level of academic achievement of the students did not show any particular change. Objective: This study aims to examine the impact of nurses' nursing information competence on their creative self-efficacy and innovation behavior, and to investigate its role as a mediating factor between these two elements. Methods: A survey was conducted from July to September 2023 involving 1,200 nurses from two tertiary-level oncology specialty hospitals in Beijing, selected through convenience sampling. Instruments used included the Creative Self-Efficacy Scale, Nursing Information Competence Assessment Scale, and Nurses' Innovative Behavior Scale. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25.0 and R 4.1.2; AMOS26 was used to construct structural equation models and Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating hypotheses. Results: Out of the distributed questionnaires, 1,166 were valid, yielding an effective response rate of 97.16%. Pearson correlation analysis revealed significant correlations between innovation self-efficacy, nursing information competence, and nurses' innovative behaviors (P < 0.001). The Bootstrap method indicated that nursing information competence serves as a mediating factor in the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovative behaviors, contributing to 24.5% of the observed effect. Additionally, regression analysis suggested that nursing information competence moderates the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovation behavior. Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing information competence not only mediates but also moderates the relationship between creative self-efficacy and innovative behavior. Enhancing nurses' information competence could therefore foster creative self-efficacy, leading to an increase in innovative behavior and, subsequently, improvements in the quality of oncology nursing care. Background: High nursing staff turnover is a critical issue that negatively impacts the quality of care and patient safety. Turnover intentions, a key predictor of actual turnover, reflect an individual's likelihood of leaving their current position. Understanding the underlying mechanisms driving nurse turnover intentions is crucial for developing targeted interventions to stabilize the nursing workforce globally. Objectives: This study aims to explore the relationship between moral resilience, job burnout, and turnover intentions among nurses, focusing on the mediating role of job burnout in this relationship. Design: This study employed a quantitative, cross-sectional design. Methods: A convenience sample of 322 registered nurses was recruited from two tertiary hospitals in China between August and October 2023. Data were collected using the Chinese version of the Rushton Moral Resilience Scale (Chi-RMRS), the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), and the Turnover Intention Scale. Data analyses were conducted using SPSS 26.0 and Amos 21.0. The study followed the STROBE guidelines for observational research. Ethical consideration: Before the commencement of data collection, the Institutional Review Board of Hunan Traditional Chinese Medical College (YXLL202401004) granted ethical approval. Results: The proposed model exhibited an excellent fit to the data, with fit indices as follows: χ2/df = 1.819, CFI = 0.977, TLI = 0.961, RMSEA = 0.072 (90% confidence interval [CI]: 0.033 to 0.107). The structural equation model revealed that moral resilience was inversely associated with job burnout and turnover intentions. Furthermore, job burnout fully mediated the relationship between moral resilience and turnover intentions (β = −0.473, p = 0.007). Further analysis indicated that the depersonalization component of job burnout was the sole mediator in the relationship between moral resilience and turnover intention (β = -3.934, 95% CI [-5.837, -1.932]). Conclusion: The findings indicate that moral resilience among nurses is negatively associated with turnover intentions, with this effect fully mediated by the depersonalization dimension of job burnout. Background: Missed nursing care refers to any aspect of care performed by nursing staff that is omitted or significantly delayed. Even though the potential impact of missing nursing care on maternal and fetal outcomes is significant, there is currently limited evidence regarding the extent of this issue specifically within the maternity wards. Therefore, this study aimed to assess missed nursing care and associated factors in the maternity wards of public hospitals in the Sidama region, Ethiopia 2022. Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 361 nurses and midwives in maternity wards of Sidama region public hospitals from March 28 to April 26, 2022. Simple random sampling was used to select participants. The data was collected using the MISSCARE survey tool and analyzed with SPSS version 26. Simple linear and multiple linear regression analyses were used to identify the factors associated with missed nursing care. Results: The overall mean missed nursing care score was 67 out of 130 (95% CI: 65.92, 68.02) and the average score for each nursing intervention was 2.58 out of 5 (95% CI: 2.54, 2.62). The intention to leave the institution (β = 3.812, 95% CI: 2.285, 5.340) and increasing weekly work hours (β = 0.203, 95% CI: 0.134, 0.272) were factors positively associated with missed nursing care. However, increased work experience (β= -0.963, 95%CI: -1.475, -0.452) and job satisfaction (β= -4.976, 95%CI: -6.431, -3.522) were negatively associated with missed nursing care. Conclusion: This study found that the level of missed nursing care was significant. Factors positively associated with missed nursing care included an intention to leave the institution and an increase in weekly work hours. Aim: To construct an evaluation index system for the core competence of nurses in sleep medicine specialties. Background: Specialized nurses in sleep medicine must handle treatment, nursing, and management well, which requires nurses to have excellent competence in knowledge, skills, and ability. However, a competency evaluation system for sleep medicine nurses has not been established in China. Methods: We used a literature review and an expert meeting to establish a draft indicator system. Subsequently, two rounds of correspondence were conducted with 27 experts from 5 provinces using the Delphi method to solicit their opinions on the core competency evaluation indicators for sleep medicine nurse specialists and to qualitatively evaluate the experts' scores. The consensus was defined in advance as a mean score of 4.0 or above, with at least 75% agreement among participants. In this way, the final indicator framework was determined. Results: The final evaluation indexes of the core competencies for sleep medicine Nurse Specialists included 6 first-level indexes (Practical ability, Theoretical Knowledge, Critical thinking, Communication and coordination, Nursing Management, and Professional Development), 16 s-level indexes, and 64 third-level indexes. The effective response rates of the two expert consultation rounds were 100%. The expert authority coefficients were 0.878 and 0.865 in the first and second rounds of consultation, respectively. In the second round of consultation, the first, second, and third indexes of Kendall's coefficient of concordance were 0.373, 0.351, and 0.286, respectively (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The core competence evaluation index system for sleep medicine nurses established in this study is scientific and reliable and can provide a theoretical reference for the training, assessment, and evaluation of sleep medicine nurses in the future. Background: Health service development aims to close the gap between evidence and practice by adopting and appropriately utilizing the latest findings. To address this gap, dissemination and implementation research has been promoted and developed. Despite promoting evidence-based programs over the years, public health nurses have had few training opportunities in evidence-based public health. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a web-based training in building the basic program implementation capacity of public health nurses with two to five years of experience. Methods: We developed a simulation-powered web-based training according to an Implementation Degree Assessment Sheet for health programs. This was a randomized, single-blind, parallel-group trial. The primary outcome, the result of implementation capacity for public health nurses, was assessed by the total score of the Implementation Degree Assessment Sheet, and scores for its five domains. The secondary outcome was evaluated by the level of understanding. The primary outcome was analyzed utilizing the t-test and analysis of covariance, whereas the secondary outcome was assessed utilizing the U-test and Quade's analysis of covariance. Data were collected directly before intervention (T1: baseline), immediately post-intervention (T2), and four weeks post-intervention (T3: endpoint). Results: The 197 participants were randomly allocated to either the intervention group (n = 98) or the control group (n = 99). A full analysis set of 152 samples and a per-protocol set of 104 samples were analyzed. The intervention group exhibited a significantly higher total score and five domain-wise scores at the endpoint compared with the control group. The disparity between the endpoint and baseline scores was significantly larger for the intervention group for all scores. The level of understanding was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group at T2 and T3. The effect size of the total score was higher in the full analysis set (Cohen's d = 0.5) than in the per-protocol set (d = 0.48). Conclusions: This web-based training was effective in building the program implementation capacity of participants four weeks post-intervention. Background: Psychological support programs can help nurses who involved in patient safety incidents. However, most of these programs are operated internally by healthcare providers and utilize peer supporters, which may take a long time to implement. Therefore, there is a need to develop programs that can be used by healthcare providers in healthcare institutions that have difficulty implementing their own programs. This feasibility study aimed to develop an external support program for nurses as second victims and to examine the feasibility, acceptability, and impact of the program. Methods: This study was conducted using a single-group pretest-posttest design. Nurses who experienced patient safety incidents were recruited through posters at three advanced general hospitals, as well as open online recruitment and via a research agency panel from September 2020 to April 2021. The 11 participants attended a total of three one-on-one counseling sessions. Feasibility was evaluated based on participant recruitment and retention, resource availability, program procedures, and the practicability of data collection. Acceptability was assessed through program satisfaction and participant feedback. Psychological impact was measured using the Impact of Event Scale-Revised Korean version. Results: Out of 26 applicants, 11 (42.3%) completed the program, with 10 (38.5%) participants completing both pre and post-program surveys. Most participants responded that they were satisfied with the program and expressed their intention to recommend the program to others and participate in it again if similar situations arise. The participants' median total IES-R-K score decreased significantly from 30.0 to 16.0 (p = 0.028, r = 0.67). Conclusion: This study demonstrates the feasibility of an external second victim support program and provides preliminary data suggesting its potential to alleviate the psychological impact of participants. Background: Klotho plays a pivotal role in human aging. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is composed of multiple conditions that are also risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. We try to discuss gender-specific differences in Klotho and the associations between Klotho and MetS components. Materials and methods: The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database from cycle 2015–2016 was analyzed. MetS was defined according to the 2005 updated criteria by the American Heart Association and National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Gender-specific differences in serum Klotho, and associations between Klotho level and MetS components were examined. Results: A total of 2475 participants (40–79 years old) with comprehensive data were included (52% women). In general, lower Klotho was associated with advanced age, male sex, tobacco use, elevated triglycerides, renal insufficiency, inflammation, low estradiol, and low sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG). The correlation between MetS and Klotho was more obvious in women, mainly in waist circumference and triglyceride. There were no gender-specific differences in the associations between Klotho and renal dysfunction, but multivariate linear regression analysis showed gender differences in other factors associated with Klotho. Estradiol, SHBG, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) were associated with Klotho levels independent of age and renal function in men, whereas in women, Klotho was independently associated with triglycerides and white blood cell count. Conclusion: Klotho levels had gender disparities regardless of age, renal function, and sex hormones. In the current cohort, triglycerides were the major component of MetS that was independently associated with serum Klotho levels, and the association was particularly seen in women. Aim: This study aimed to compile data on the effectiveness of music therapy for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery. Background: After cardiac and thoracic surgery, patients often experience physiological and psychological complications, such as anxiety, pain, stress, depression and changes in vital signs, which have a great impact on prognosis. Methods: A systematic search of six databases was performed to identify randomized controlled trials investigating music therapy and cardiothoracic surgery. The data were extracted from the qualified research, the data without heterogeneity were analysed by random-effects model (REM) meta-analysis, and the data with heterogeneity were analysed by fixed-effects model (FEM) meta-analysis. We evaluated anxiety, pain, duration of mechanical ventilation, hospital length of stay, stress hormones, opioid consumption, and vital signs, including heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), oxygen saturation (SpO2), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and systolic blood pressure (SBP) after cardiothoracic surgery. The meta-analysis and sensitivity analysis were performed with RevMan 5.4 and Stata 14 software, and trial sequential analysis was conducted using TSA 0.9.5.10 Beta software. This study was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines and was registered with PROSPERO. Results: The study included 24 randomized controlled trials with a total of 1576 patients. Our analysis showed that music therapy can significantly reduce the anxiety scores (SMD= -0.74, 95% CI [-0.96, -0.53], p < 0.01) and pain scores (SMD= -1.21, 95% CI [-1.78, -0.65], p < 0.01) of patients after cardiothoracic surgery. Compared with the control group, music therapy dramatically raised postoperative SpO2 (SMD = 0.75, 95% CI [0.11, 1.39], p = 0.02). In addition, the experimental group had significant statistical significance in reducing HR, SBP and opioid consumption. However, there was no significant difference in respiratory rate, stress hormones, diastolic blood pressure, length of hospital stay, or the duration of mechanical ventilation between the two groups. Conclusions: Music therapy can significantly reduce anxiety, pain, HR, SBP, and postoperative opioid use and even improve SpO2 in patients who undergo cardiothoracic surgery. Music therapy has a positive effect on patients after cardiothoracic surgery with few side effects, so it is promising for use in clinics. Background. Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is an autoimmune disease characterized by inflammation, progressive vasculopathy, and fibrosis of skin and internal organs. The aim of the study was to evaluate extended inflammatory parameters (EIP) in patients with SSc in comparison to the control group of healthy subjects. Methods. A total of 28 patients with SSc and 29 healthy controls (HCs) were included in the study. The following EIP parameters were analyzed: neutrophil reactive intensity (NEUT‐RI), neutrophil granularity intensity (NEUT‐GI), antibody‐synthesizing lymphocytes (AS‐LYMP), and reactive lymphocytes (RE‐LYMP). Results. Patients with SSc showed significantly higher values of parameters determining neutrophil reactivity and neutrophil granularity when compared to HCs (respectively, 49.16 FI vs. 44.33 FI, p < 0.001, and 152.01 SI vs. 147.51 SI, p < 0.001). Moreover, patients with SSc had higher absolute numbers of RE‐LYMP than HCs (0.69 × 103/µl vs. 0.04 × 103/µl, p < 0.001). Importantly, significant correlations between the RE‐LYMP and either IL‐6 (R = 0.447, p < 0.001) or ESR (R = 0.532, p < 0.001) were found among patients with SSc. Conclusions. Changes in NEUT‐RI, NEUT‐GI, and RE‐LYMP levels positively correlate with inflammation in SSc and, thus, could potentially be used as an additional reliable inflammatory biomarker to assess inflammation in this disease. Aim: This study aims to investigate the influence of medical explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) on the innovation behaviour of nurses, as well as explore the dual‐pathway mediating effect of AI self‐efficacy and AI anxiety and organizational ethical climate as the moderating effect. Background: To address the practical application of medical AI technology, alleviate the scarcity of medical resources and fulfil the medical and health demands of the public, it is crucial to improve the innovation behaviour of nurses through the use of medical XAI. Methods: A cross‐sectional survey was conducted involving 368 Chinese nurses working at tertiary and secondary hospitals in Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai. Results: Implementing medical XAI significantly enhanced the innovation behaviour of nurses. Anxiety and self‐efficacy regarding AI mediated the connection between medical XAI and the innovation behaviour of nurses. Furthermore, the organizational ethical climate positively moderated the relationship between medical XAI and AI self‐efficacy. Conclusion: Medical XAI helps to enhance nurses' AI self‐efficacy and reduce AI anxiety, thereby enhancing nurses' innovation behaviour. An organizational ethical climate enhances the positive relationship between medical XAI and AI self‐efficacy. Implications for Nursing Management: Organizations and technology developers must augment the study about XAI and the system design of human‐centred AI technology. Background: Assessment of QoL has become an essential component in the holistic care of patients with acne. The Cardiff Acne Disability Index (CADI) is used globally to assess quality of life (QoL) in patients with acne. This study was done to validate CADI in Tamil, as 90 million of the global population are native speakers and Tamil is an official language of several countries. Methods: CADI was translated and validated into Tamil according to published guidelines. The Tamil versions of both CADI and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), was administered to 150 Sri Lankan young adults with acne. The clinical severity was assessed using the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS). Discriminant validity was tested by comparing the results of CADI with those of GAGS and DLQI, using reliability, validity, Cronbach's alpha, and Spearman's correlation coefficient measurements. Construct validity was assessed by factor analysis. Results: 70% were female, and the mean age was 25.1 (SD, 5.2). The majority (91.3%) had acne of mild to moderate severity when measured by GAGS. CADI-Tamil showed high internal consistency and reliability (Cronbach's alpha coefficient = 0.83). The CADI total score showed a strong correlation (0.86) with that of DLQI. The correlation between CADI and GAGS was low, whereas CADI had a high and significant correlations with the DLQI. The construct validity explained 61% of the variability. Conclusions: The CADI-Tamil is a reliable and valid tool for assessing the QoL of Tamil speaking patients with acne. This tool will help clinicians understand the patient's perspective on acne. Background: Previous research has suggested that alternative (respiratory) care providers (ACP) may provide affordable, accessible care for sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) that decreases wait-times and improves clinical outcomes. The objective of this study was to compare ACP-led and sleep physician-led care for SDB on patient reported outcome and experiences, with a focus on general and health-related quality of life, sleepiness, and patient satisfaction. Methods: We conducted a secondary analysis of a randomized trial in which participants with severe SDB were assigned to either ACP-led or physician-led management. We created longitudinal linear mixed models to assess the impacts of treatment arm and timepoint on total and domain-level scores of multiple patient-reported outcome measures and patient-reported experience measures. Results: Patients in both treatment arms (ACP-led n = 81; sleep-physician = 75) reported improved outcomes on the Sleep Apnea Quality of Life Index, Health Utilities Index, and Epworth Sleepiness Scale. Patients in each group had similar and clinically meaningful improvements on domains assessing cognition, emotion, and social functioning. The linear mixed models suggested no significant difference between treatment arms on the patient-reported outcomes. However, scores significantly improved over time. Conclusions: Management of SDB using ACPs was comparable to physician-led care, as measured bypatient-reported outcome and experience measures. While loss to follow-up limits our findings, these results provide some support for the use of this novel health service delivery model to improve access to high quality SDB care. Objective. The importance of early microbial dysbiosis in later development of obesity and metabolic disorders has been a subject of debate. Here we tested cause and effect in mice. Methods. Germ‐free male Swiss Webster mice were colonized in a specific‐pathogen‐free (SPF) facility at 1 week (1W) and 3 weeks (3W) of age. They were challenged with a high‐fat diet and their responses were compared with SPF mice. Gut microbiota was analyzed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Moreover, RNA sequencing of the liver was performed on additional 3W and SPF mice on a regular chow diet. Results. There were no significant differences in weight, food consumption, epididymal fat weight, HbA1c levels, and serum insulin and leptin, whereas the early germ‐free period resulted in mice with impaired glucose tolerance. Both the 1W and 3W group peaked 56% (p < 0.05) and 66% (p < 0.01) higher in blood glucose than the SPF control group, respectively. This was accompanied by a 45% reduction in the level of the anti‐inflammatory cytokine IL‐10 in the 1W mice (p < 0.05). There were no differences in the gut microbiota between the groups, indicating that all mice colonized fully after the germ‐free period. Marked effects on hepatic gene expression (728 differentially expressed genes with adjusted p < 0.05 and a fold change ± 1.5) suggested a potential predisposition to a higher risk of developing insulin resistance in the 3W group. Conclusions. Lack of microbes early in life had no impact on adiposity but led to insulin resistance and altered liver gene expression related to glucose metabolism in mice. Background: Efficacy of inhaled therapy such as Nitric Oxide (iNO) during mechanical ventilation may depend on airway patency. We hypothesized that airway closure and lung collapse, countered by positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), influence iNO efficacy. This could support the role of an adequate PEEP titration for inhalation therapy. The main aim of this study was to assess the effect of iNO with PEEP set above or below the airway opening pressure (AOP) generated by airway closure, on hemodynamics and gas exchange in swine models of acute respiratory distress syndrome. Fourteen pigs randomly underwent either bilateral or asymmetrical two-hit model of lung injury. Airway closure and lung collapse were measured with electrical impedance tomography as well as ventilation/perfusion ratio (V/Q). After AOP detection, the effect of iNO (10ppm) was studied with PEEP set randomly above or below regional AOP. Respiratory mechanics, hemodynamics, and gas-exchange were recorded. Results: All pigs presented airway closure (AOP > 0.5cmH2O) after injury. In bilateral injury, iNO was associated with an improved mean pulmonary pressure from 49 ± 8 to 42 ± 7mmHg; (p = 0.003), and ventilation/perfusion matching, caused by a reduction in pixels with low V/Q and shunt from 16%[IQR:13–19] to 9%[IQR:4–12] (p = 0.03) only at PEEP set above AOP. iNO had no effect on hemodynamics or gas exchange for PEEP below AOP (low V/Q 25%[IQR:16–30] to 23%[IQR:14–27]; p = 0.68). In asymmetrical injury, iNO improved pulmonary hemodynamics and ventilation/perfusion matching independently from the PEEP set. iNO was associated with improved oxygenation in all cases. Conclusions: In an animal model of bilateral lung injury, PEEP level relative to AOP markedly influences iNO efficacy on pulmonary hemodynamics and ventilation/perfusion match, independently of oxygenation. Objective. The number of cancer survivors is increasing, and the high prevalence of frailty not only reduces quality of life but also affects the treatment of cancer patients. This study aimed to identify the prevalence and risk factors of frailty in cancer patients and to construct a nomogram to predict the probability of frailty. Methods. Nine hundred fifty‐eight cancer patients were included in this retrospective study, randomly divided into a development set (n = 680) and a validation set (n = 278). Frailty was assessed using the Tilburg frailty indicator (TFI). Social support, medical coping styles, and psychological distress were assessed by the Social Support Self‐Rating Scale (SSRS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ), and distress thermometer (DT), respectively. Results. The prevalence of frailty in cancer patients was 45.93%. Cancer patients who exercised regularly, ate a balanced diet, and actively coped with diseases were less likely to become frail. The risk factors for frailty identified by a multivariate analysis were parenteral nutrition, advanced TNM staging, vegetarian diet, unemployment, psychological distress ≥4, low physical activity, and negative coping styles. These risk factors were used to construct a nomogram, and the C‐index, calibration curve, and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to assess the performance of the nomogram. The C‐index was 0.762, and the calibration curve showed satisfactory coherence. The net benefit of the nomogram was better between threshold probabilities of 17%–96% in DCA. Conclusion. Special focus needs to be placed on frail cancer patients due to their high prevalence and severe outcomes. Background and aims: The association between blood pressure (BP) and dementia in older adults remains unclear, prompting this study to investigate the relationship between various BP indicators and dementia in this population. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 2019, including 3,599 participants aged 65 years or older. The basic demographic characteristics of participants were collected. BP measurements and neuropsychological assessments were performed. From the systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP) values, mean arterial pressure (MAP), pulse pressure (PP) and blood pressure index (BPI) were calculated. Generalized additive models and logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between BP indicators and dementia. Results: Generalized additive models identified a U-shaped relationship between DBP and dementia, which was more significant in males and people 70 years of age and older. The optimal DBP associated with the lowest dementia risk was 85 mmHg. Logistic regression models revealed that compared to the DBP subgroup (80-89 mmHg), participants in the DBP < 80 mmHg subgroup and the DBP =100 mmHg subgroup had OR for dementia of 1.611 (95% CI: 1. 252-2.073, P < 0.001) and 1.423 (95% CI: 0.999-2.028, p = 0.050), respectively. A significant association was observed between BPI and dementia (OR:1.746 95% CI: 1.142-2.668, p = 0.010). Conclusion: In older adults, we found a U-shaped relationship between DBP and dementia, and a linear relationship between BPI and dementia. Background: Observational studies have suggested that plasma lipidome play a pivotal role in the occurrence of Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it remains unknown which lipids among plasma lipidome affect PD and how they exert their influence. Clarity is lacking regarding the causal relationship between plasma lipidome and PD, as well as whether circulating inflammatory proteins serve as mediators. Methods: Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) significantly associated with 179 plasma lipidome were selected as instrumental variables to assess their causal impact on PD. PD data, serving as the outcome, were sourced from the International Parkinson's Disease Genomics Consortium, which boasts the largest sample size to date. The inverse variance weighted (IVW), Weighted median method, MR-Egger method, Simple mode method, Weighted mode method and MR-PRESSO were employed to evaluate the influence of the 179 plasma lipidome on PD. Heterogeneity, pleiotropy tests, and reverse causality analyses were conducted accordingly. Additionally, we analyzed the causal relationship between 91 circulating inflammatory proteins and PD, exploring whether these proteins serve as mediators in the pathway from plasma lipidome to PD. Results: Among the 179 plasma lipidome, three were found to be associated with a reduced risk of PD: Phosphatidylcholine (14:0_18:2) (IVW, OR = 0.877; 95%CI, 0.787-0.978; p = 0.018), Phosphatidylcholine (16:0_16:1) levels (IVW, OR = 0.835; 95%CI, 0.717-0.973; p = 0.021), and Phosphatidylcholine (O-17:0_17:1) levels (IVW, OR = 0.854; 95%CI, 0.779-0.936; p = 0.001). Meanwhile, Sphingomyelin (d38:1) was linked to an increased risk of PD (IVW, OR = 1.095; 95%CI, 1.027-1.166; p = 0.005). Among the 91 circulating inflammatory proteins, three were associated with a lower PD risk: Fibroblast growth factor 21 levels (IVW, OR = 0.817; 95%CI, 0.674-0.990; p = 0.039), Transforming growth factor-alpha levels (IVW, OR = 0.825; 95%CI, 0.683-0.998; p = 0.048), and Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 9 levels (IVW, OR = 0.846; 95%CI, 0.744-0.963; p = 0.011). Two were associated with a higher risk of PD: Interleukin-17A levels (IVW, OR = 1.285; 95%CI, 1.051-1.571; p = 0.014) and TNF-beta levels (IVW, OR = 1.088; 95%CI, 1.010-1.171; p = 0.026). Additionally, a positive correlation was observed between Phosphatidylcholine (14:0_18:2) levels and Fibroblast growth factor 21 levels (IVW, OR = 1.125; 95%CI, 1.006-1.257; p = 0.038), suggesting that Fibroblast growth factor 21 levels may serve as a mediating factor in the pathway between Phosphatidylcholine (14.0_18.2) levels and PD. The mediation effect was estimated to be -0.024, accounting for approximately 18% of the total effect. Conclusion: Both plasma lipidome and circulating inflammatory proteins demonstrate a causal relationship with PD. Additionally, circulating inflammatory proteins may serve as mediators in the pathway from plasma lipidome to PD. Introduction and Objectives: Canadians rely on their primary care providers to address their mental health needs, but there are longstanding system gaps that must be addressed to enhance their ability to deliver mental health care. The present study addressed the gap in pediatric mental health care through the development, delivery, and evaluation of a mental health literacy training among non-physician primary care providers. Methods: We delivered the training among 97 participants, with all completed the pre-test survey, and 74 completed the post-test survey on knowledge, attitudes toward mental health, and help-seeking intentions. Additionally, participants explained why they attended the training and shared how they would apply the knowledge learned into their practice (behaviors). Results: Participants improved their knowledge significantly from pre-test to post-test, P <.001, d = 2.51. We didn't find any statistical significance between pre-test and post-test on attitudes, P =.067, nor on help-seeking intentions, P =.274. However, participants' scores were exceedingly high on both outcomes, indicating positive attitudes and intentions at 2 time points and implying a ceiling effect of both outcomes. We did not find outcome differences by demographics, practice year, practice zone, or professional role. While knowledge, years of practice and prior mental health training predicted participants attitudes at pre-test, they didn't at post-test. Attitudes toward mental health predicted help-seeking intentions. Participants indicated this training will change their practice behaviors. Conclusion: This mental health literacy training for primary care providers demonstrated strong evidence of the need to integrate mental health and addiction support into primary care practice. Aim: To identify optimally therapeutic exercise interventions for improving motor ability among patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), we conducted a network meta-analysis (NMA) of randomized controlled trials comparing different exercise regimens. Methods: Relevant RCTs were retrieved by searching PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, CINAHL, CBM, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wan fang, VIP, and other databases from inception to July 9, 2023 is available in English as the primary language. Exercise outcomes as measured by Movement Disorder Society-Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Part III (MDS-UPDRSIII) score change were evaluated and ranked using STATA software version 18.0. All included studies were assessed for methodological quality using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. Results: The final NMA included 71 studies involving 3,732 participants, 87 intervention experiments, and 27distinct interventions. Although most exercise interventions showed some efficacy (reducing MDS-UPDRS-III score), cumulative ranking probability surface (SUCRA) values indicated that the best exercise interventions for motor function improvement were archery (95.6%), riding a bicycle (80.9%), and binary rhythm dance (80.8%). Conclusion: An exercise intervention comprising archery, cycling, and(or) binary rhythm dance may yield superior improvements in motor function among patients with Parkinson's disease. Objective: Cognitive decline is often considered an inevitable aspect of aging; however, recent research has identified a subset of older adults known as "superagers" who maintain cognitive abilities comparable to those of younger individuals. Investigating the neurobiological characteristics associated with superior cognitive function in superagers is essential for understanding "successful aging." Evidence suggests that the gut microbiome plays a key role in brain function, forming a bidirectional communication network known as the microbiome-gut-brain axis. Alterations in the gut microbiome have been linked to cognitive aging markers such as oxidative stress and inflammation. This study aims to investigate the unique patterns of the gut microbiome in superagers and to develop machine learning-based predictive models to differentiate superagers from typical agers. Methods: We recruited 161 cognitively unimpaired, community-dwelling volunteers aged 60 years or from dementia prevention centers in Seoul, South Korea. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 115 participants were included in the study. Following the removal of microbiome data outliers, 102 participants, comprising 57 superagers and 45 typical agers, were finally analyzed. Superagers were defined based on memory performance at or above average normative values of middle-aged adults. Gut microbiome data were collected from stool samples, and microbial DNA was extracted and sequenced. Relative abundances of bacterial genera were used as features for model development. We employed the LightGBM algorithm to build predictive models and utilized SHAP analysis for feature importance and interpretability. Results: The predictive model achieved an AUC of 0.832 and accuracy of 0.764 in the training dataset, and an AUC of 0.861 and accuracy of 0.762 in the test dataset. Significant microbiome features for distinguishing superagers included Alistipes, PAC001137_g, PAC001138_g, Leuconostoc, and PAC001115_g. SHAP analysis revealed that higher abundances of certain genera, such as PAC001138_g and PAC001115_g, positively influenced the likelihood of being classified as superagers. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate the machine learning-based predictive models using gut-microbiome features can differentiate superagers from typical agers with a reasonable performance. Background: Temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis (TLE-HS) is typically resistant to pharmacological interventions; however, achieving seizure freedom is possible through surgery. Our objective was to focus on the pregnancy and seizure outcomes during pregnancy of women with TLE-HS, and aim to identify predictors of seizure control. Methods: The West China Registry of Pregnancy of Women with Epilepsy (WCPR_EPi) was a monocentric prospective cohort study of women with epilepsy (WWE). We screened women with TLE-HS in this database. Their clinical profile, anti-seizure medication (ASM) use, and pregnancy outcomes were extracted from the records of the registry (2010–2023). Results: Out of 2320 WWE followed up, 47 pregnancies in women with TLE-HS were identified and analyzed. Seizure exacerbation occurred in 40.4% of pregnancies, and seizure freedom was present in 34.0% of these during pregnancy. Factors associated with seizure exacerbation during pregnancy was ASM non-adherence (odds ratio [OR] =7.00, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.43–34.07, P=0.016). The surgery group showed a significantly higher seizure freedom rate (OR = 6.87, 95% CI 1.02–46.23, P=0.016) and lower rate of induced labor (0.0% vs 26.5%, P=0.047) compared to the medically-treated group alone. Caesarean section was chosen in 77.1% of cases due to seizure concerns, with comparable in epilepsy-related (n=20) and obstetric causes (n=24). No major congenital malformations were reported. Conclusions: Surgical treatment before pregnancy appears to offer a higher chance of seizure freedom compared to medication alone. Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a rare metabolic disease with autosomal recessive inheritance. The manifestation in PXE is represented by retinal complications, pseudoxanthomas of the skin folding areas, and arterial calcification. The retinal complications are caused by the calcification of Bruch's membrane beneath retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPE) that can lead to retinal macular degeneration. The exact mechanism for the retinal pathophysiology is not known, and patients have variable symptoms and findings. Two induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) lines from a patient carrying the common homozygous mutation c.3421C > T, p.Arg1141X in the ATP‐binding cassette transporter gene (ABCC6; OMIM264800) were established and fully characterized. Then, RPE cells were differentiated, and molecular and functional characterization was conducted as a comparison to healthy controls. Data demonstrated that PXE‐specific high‐quality hiPSC lines can be established from a skin biopsy regardless of the skin‐related disease phenotype and disease‐specific RPE differentiation is feasible. The molecular and functional assessment of the PXE‐specific RPE indicated increased pigmentation and reduced epithelial barrier functions as well as phagocytosis activity as compared to healthy controls. Although preliminary data, this indicates possible RPE‐dependent factors that might explain the individual vulnerability of the retinas for macular degeneration in PXE. Background: Community violence exposure (CVE) in adolescence is associated with poorer mental health although the situational factors that may impact on this relationship remain relatively unexplored. The present study aimed to investigate if the degree of perceived stress during CVE has an effect on future posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in youth, and if this association differs between females and males. Methods: Data were analyzed from 760 U.S. adolescents (mean age = 14.00 years), who participated in two surveys, one year apart. Information about CVE (witnessing violence and violence victimization) and the stress severity associated with it was collected in the first survey, whereas data on PTSD symptoms were obtained in the second survey. Generalized Linear Models were used to examine the associations that were also adjusted for ethnicity, age and socioeconomic status. Results: The results showed a longitudinal association between CVE-related stress and future PTSD symptoms, with students who had higher levels of perceived stress during CVE (witnessing or victimization) reporting higher PTSD symptom levels subsequently. There was no interaction between sex and CVE-related stress and PTSD symptoms, although females reported more PTSD symptoms. Conclusions: The severity of the perceived stress associated with CVE should be regarded as a potentially important prognostic factor for identifying those who might develop PTSD symptoms after CVE and this may facilitate early intervention and treatment for those exposed to community violence. Background: The Individual Care Plan (ICP) for pediatric palliative care translates the general guideline recommendations into a personalized plan for the child. Various documents exist in pediatrics globally, aimed at facilitating anticipatory care or coordinating end-of-life care. The ICP aims both, but user experiences have not been studied post-development. Objective: The overall aim is to enhance knowledge and understanding of the content of the ICP from the perspectives of parents and healthcare professionals (HCPs). Design and method: We conducted a mixed-method study using a convergent parallel design consisting of questionnaires and individual and focus group interviews among parents and HCPs having user experience with the ICP. The questionnaire and interview data were analyzed separately. Quantitative data were descriptively analyzed using mean, ±SD, and median. Qualitative data were thematically analyzed. A narrative approach and joint display were used to describe the results. Results: In total, 27 parents and 161 HCPs participated. Overall, the content of the ICP was seen as important and complete, but changes and additions were called for on language, structure, and content. The chapter on the needs and wishes of child and parents was considered most important. HCPs would like to see this chapter expanded to incorporate more advance care planning outcomes, and parents wished for this chapter to reflect better who their child is. HCPs mentioned missing a chapter for palliative sedation, mainly to guide other HCPs. The ICP was appraised as not user-friendly and might possibly improve by making the ICP available in a secure digital environment. Conclusion: To meet the needs of parents and HCPs considering importance and completeness of the content of the ICP and its user-friendliness, changes are necessary in the content of the ICP, and preferably the ICP should be made digitally available. Although various documents exist globally to facilitate anticipatory care or coordinating end-of-life care, it appears that the combination of describing the values and preferences of the child and parents, along with medical decisions and life-sustaining treatments, makes the ICP a unique and comprehensive care plan. Background: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a common type of malignant tumor with therapeutic challenges. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote LUAD growth and metastasis, regulate the tumor immune response, and influence tumor treatment responses and drug resistance. However, the molecular mechanisms through which CAFs control LUAD progression are largely unknown. In this study, we aimed to determine the correlations between CAF-related genes and overall survival (OS) in patients with LUAD. Methods: We acquired the gene expression data and clinical information of 522 patients with LUAD patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and 442 patients with LUAD from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. CAF infiltration levels were assessed using the Microenvironment Cell Population (MCP) counter, the Estimating the Proportions of Immune and Cancer cells (EPIC) algorithm, and Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) scores. A CAF-related gene network was constructed using the Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Based on the CAF-related genes, univariate Cox regression and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) Cox regression analyses were performed to identify prognostic genes. Gene expression levels within the prognostic model were validated using the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia (CCLE) databases and Western blotting. Results: Our results demonstrated that high CAF scores were associated with lower survival rates in patients with LUAD. Gene modules that were highly correlated with high CAF scores were closely associated with tissue characteristics and extracellular matrix structures in LUAD. In addition, correlations between CAF scores and responses to immunotherapy and chemotherapy were observed. Finally, we found that SNAI2 expression was higher in lung cancer tissues than in normal tissues. Conclusion: Deepening our understanding of the influence of CAFs on tumor progression and treatment response at the molecular level can aid the development of more effective therapeutic strategies. Background: Presenteeism has become a significant issue related to health. However, the effect of fatigue and organizational identification on the relationship between emotional labor and presenteeism among Chinese nurses remains unclear. This study aims to explore the correlation of Chinese nurses' emotional labor, fatigue and organizational identification with presenteeism, and to analyze the mediating effect of fatigue and the moderating effect of organizational identification on the relationship between emotional labor and presenteeism. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed from June to October 2022 in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China. In total, 1,630 nurses were asked to complete a range of self-administered questionnaires, including the Emotional Labor Scale, the Fatigue Scale, the Organizational Identification Scale and the Stanford Presenteeism Scale. Besides, the PROCESS macro and multiple linear regression were used for moderated mediation analysis. Results: Emotional labor (r = 0.108, P < 0.001) and fatigue (r = 0.475, P < 0.001) were positively correlated with presenteeism, while organizational identification (r = -0.261, P < 0.001) was negatively correlated with presenteeism. The effect of emotional labor on presenteeism was partially mediated by fatigue (Effect = 0.014, 95% CI = [0.007, 0.021]). Additionally, the relationship between emotional labor and fatigue was moderated by organizational identification (P = 0.018 for the interaction term). Conclusions: Fatigue and organizational identification have mediating and moderating effects on the relationship between emotional labor and presenteeism, respectively. Targeted support measures should be taken to improve the presenteeism of nurses. Nursing managers can relieve the psychological pressure and fatigue of nurses by establishing emotional release channels, and improve the presenteeism of nurses through enhancing organizational identification. Background: The handover process is a vital part of patient safety continuity, particularly conducted between nurses at the end of shifts. Nurses often face challenges in handover due to a lack of self-efficacy and inadequate communication skills. The clinical supervision model, by providing emotional, educational, and organizational support, aids in skill acquisition and instills confidence. Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of the clinical supervision model on nurses' self-efficacy and communication skills in the handover process within medical and surgical wards. Method: This experimental two-group (pre-and post-test) study was conducted in 2024 at selected hospital affiliated with Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran. Convenience sampling was used, and participants were randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group. Data were collected using the ISBAR communication checklist, communication clarity, the Sherer General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for handover self-efficacy, and the Manchester Clinical Supervision Scale (MCSS). The clinical supervision model and routine supervision were implemented in six sessions for the intervention and control groups, respectively. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16, employing independent t-tests, covariance analysis, paired t-tests, chi-square tests, and repeated measures ANOVA with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: No significant differences were observed between the intervention and control groups in terms of baseline characteristics. Inter-group analysis indicated that there were no significant differences in the scores of self-efficacy, ISBAR, and communication clarity between the control and intervention groups before the intervention (P > 0.05). According to the intra-group analysis, the ISBAR and communication clarity scores in the intervention group significantly increased over time (p < 0.001), whereas no such increase was observed in the control group. The intervention group showed a significant increase in general self-efficacy (p < 0.001) compared to the control group. Although both groups showed a significant improvement in handover self-efficacy, the mean scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group (p < 0.001). The mean score of the Manchester Clinical Supervision Scale in the intervention group was 128.98, indicating the high effectiveness of implementing the clinical supervision model. Conclusion: The findings indicated that the use of the clinical supervision model improves self-efficacy and communication skills in the handover process of nurses in medical and surgical wards. Background: The development of clinical guidelines aimed at GPs is a key strategy to improving the management of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In 2019, the first CKD guideline aimed specifically at GPs practicing in Germany was published by the German College of General Practitioners and Family Physicians (DEGAM.) Aims: The aim of this study is to identify the barriers and enablers for the implementation of this guideline. The results of this project, together with quantitative evaluation against quality indicators for CKD in primary care will inform an update to the guideline. Methods: We performed 17 semi-structured interviews with GPs practicing in Berlin and Brandenburg. Transcripts were analysed using qualitative content analysis as described by Mayring. Results: We found that the perception of low clinical priority of CKD compared to other chronic diseases, opportunity cost of using guidelines, as well as poor patient understanding were significant barriers. GPs expressed that improved graphic design or integration of guideline recommendations in clinical decision support systems were enabling factors. Clinical problems concerning CKD were mostly solved by recourse to informal communication with specialists. GPs reported that they rarely consulted CKD guidelines as an aide to clinical decision making. Conclusion: The most significant barrier to use was that guidelines were not used as step-by-step decision aide in consultations with patients. Our analysis suggests that informal contact between primary and secondary care is significant conduit for evidence-based information on CKD in German primary care. Background: Information on the influences of daily eating frequency (DEF) and nighttime fasting duration (NFD) on biological aging is minimal. Our study investigated the potential associations of DEF and NFD with accelerated aging. Methods: Out of 24212 participants in NHANES 2003–2010 and 2015–2018, 4 predicted age metrics [homeostatic dysregulation (HD), Klemera–Doubal method (KDM), phenoAge (PA), and allostatic load (AL)] were computed based on 12 blood chemistry parameters. Utilizing 24-h dietary recall, DEF was measured by the frequency of eating occurrences, while NFD was determined by assessing the timing of the initial and final meals throughout the day. Weighted multivariate linear regression models and restricted cubic spline (RCS) were utilized to examine the associations. Results: Compared to DEF of ≤ 3.0 times, subjects with DEF ≥ 4.6 times demonstrated lower KDM residual [β: -0.57, 95% confidence-interval (CI): (-0.97, -0.17)] and PA residual [β: -0.47, 95% CI: (-0.69, -0.25)]. In comparison to NFD between 10.1 and 12.0 h, individuals with NFD ≤ 10.0 h were at higher HD [β: 0.03, 95% CI: (0.01, 0.04)], KDM residual [β: 0.34, 95% CI: (0.05, 0.63)], and PA residual [β: 0.38, 95% CI: (0.18, 0.57)]. Likewise, those with NFD ≥ 14.1 h also had higher HD [β: 0.02, 95% CI: (0.01, 0.04)] and KDM residual [β: 0.33, 95% CI: (0.03, 0.62)]. The results were confirmed by the dose–response relationships of DEF and NFD with predicted age metrics. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and globulin (Glo) were acknowledged as implicated in and mediating the relationships. Aim: To construct evidence-based sensitive quality indicators for patients' rapid rehabilitation care after combined pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and to provide a reference for clinical nursing professionals to scientifically evaluate the quality of patients' rehabilitation post-PD. Background: Since PD is associated with higher surgical risk and anastomotic complications, it leads to higher complication rates and longer postoperative recovery cycles. This reiterates the need for rapid recovery of patients after PD; however, the evaluation of sensitive nursing care indicators regarding rapid recovery post-PD has not yet been established to date. Methods: Based on the Donabedian structure-process-result theory model, we used available literature, semi-structured interviews, the Delphi method, and hierarchical analysis to establish a sensitive indicator system for patients' rapid rehabilitation after PD and evaluate the importance of such indicators. Results: There were two rounds of expert correspondence, and the effective recovery rate of the questionnaires of these rounds was 100%. The expert authority coefficients, as well as the Kendall coordination coefficients of the expert opinions, were 0.859 and 0.872 as well as 0.423 and 0.431, with statistically significant differences (p < 0.05), respectively. Consequently, we developed a sensitive quality index system for patients' rapid rehabilitation care after combined PD, including 3 first-level, 12 s-level, and 23 third-level indexes, respectively. Conclusion: The constructed sensitive quality index system developed for patients' rapid rehabilitation nursing care after combined PD is standardized, practical, and aligned with the specialty characteristics. Background: Work-family enrichment refers to the extent to which experiences in one role improve the quality of life in another role, and the bidirectionality indicates that benefits derived from work can be applied to family and vice versa. Parent nurses, that is, female nurses who are raising preschool children, play a major role at work and in the family. Thus, work-family enrichment is significant for them. The Work-Family Enrichment Scale cannot be generalized to parent nurses. This study was aimed at developing and psychometrically validating a draft Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,090 parent nurses who were randomly sampled from hospitals with more than 200 beds in Japan. The survey evaluated (1) a draft Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses, (2) the Japanese version of the Work-Family Enrichment Scale, and (3) the Positive Spillover Scale. The scales were psychometrically evaluated for internal consistency, construct validity, and criterion-related validity. Results: Data from 503 participants (age, mean ± standard deviation [range] 35.5 ± 4.96 [23–47] years) were analyzed. Results of exploratory factor analysis, the work to family enrichment direction yielded five factors for 23 items: "emotional fulfillment," "efficiency," "ability to lead," "displaying industriousness," and "self-growth." Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranged from 0.862 to 0.914. In the family-to-work enrichment direction, there were five factors for 28 items: "help-seeking," "receptiveness," "expansion of one's horizon," "efficiency," and "emotional fulfillment." Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranged from 0.790 to 0.907. Additionally, the correlation coefficients reporting criterion-related validity were 0.685 and 0.619 with regard to the Japanese version of the Work-Family Enrichment Scale and 0.596 and 0.534 with the Positive Spillover Scale for the Work-to-Family Enrichment Scale and the Family-to-Work Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses, respectively. Conclusions: The Work-Family Enrichment Scale for Parent Nurses has adequate reliability and validity and can be used as an effective measure to assess the positive aspects of work and family roles among female parent nurses. Introduction: Angiography is associated with anxiety, stress, and changes in patients' vital signs. The role of the liaison nurse is to bridge gaps and solve problems between departments, thereby preventing the occurrence of undesired complications during patient transfers. Proper preparation of patients by the liaison nurse may lead to an improvement in the hemodynamic status of patients. The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of liaison nurse on hemodynamic status during transfer process to angiography. Method: This randomized controlled trial was conducted from December 2019 to March 2020 on 62 patients who were candidates for elective angiography at Imam Reza Hospital in Mashhad. Participants were selected using a convenience sampling method and then randomly assigned to either the control or intervention group using a lottery system. In the intervention group, patients benefited from the presence of a liaison nurse from the moment the transfer order was issued by the doctor. Tools used included a demographic information questionnaire and a hemodynamic signs checklist. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 with independent T-tests, paired T-tests, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney test, chi-squared, and Fisher's exact test. Result: Following the intervention, the mean systolic blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate in the intervention group were found to be significantly lower than those in the control group (p < 0.05). In contrast, the mean body temperature, diastolic blood pressure and the percentage of arterial blood oxygen saturation did not exhibit a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p > 0.05). Conclusion: The liaison nurse role emerges as a valuable strategy for enhancing patients' hemodynamic stability, and its implementation can have a positive impact on patient outcomes in hospital settings. Background: Nurses' competence in clinical research is a key element in promoting high quality in the discipline of nursing, and the ethical aspects of research are of paramount importance. Therefore, nurses need to have a comprehensive understanding of the ethics associated with clinical research, which is an integral part of safeguarding the safety of subjects, ensuring the quality of nursing clinical research, and improving the ethical standardization of clinical research. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 304 nurses in a province of China between April 2023 and September 2023, utilizing convenience sampling. The survey questionnaire comprised two sections: a general information form and a questionnaire focusing on nurses' knowledge and attitudes towards clinical research ethics. Data analysis encompassed descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results: A total of 320 questionnaires were distributed, of which 304 were valid. The ethical attitude of nurses in clinical research was better (91.17 ± 15.96), while the cognitive score was lower (63.08 ± 12.30). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that degree, grade of hospital (I, II or III), technical title, number of clinical projects chaired in one year and whether the respondent has ever participated in an ethics training were the five factors influencing the knowledge of clinical research ethics (F = 9.341, P < 0.001, R2 = 18.0%); degree, grade of hospital (I, II or III), technical title, number of clinical research projects chaired in one year, whether the hospital has an ethics committee and whether the respondent has ever participated in an ethics training were the six factors affecting ethical attitudes towards clinical research (F = 8.919, P < 0.001, R2 = 17.3%). Conclusions: Nurses in a Chinese province scored low on the cognitive dimension of clinical research ethics, but their attitudes were at a relative high level, with many influencing factors. Degree, technical title, and grade of hospital, all affect cognitive and attitude scores. It is also worth noting that whether the hospital has an ethics committee affects the attitude scores, but has no effect on the cognitive scores.Nursing administrators and educators should consider providing effective and targeted strategies (e.g., ongoing training, scholarly seminars, and scholarly exchanges) to enhance nurses' knowledge and competence in clinical research ethics to protect subject rights as well as to ensure the quality of clinical research. Background: In China, Internet-Based Sharing Nursing Service (IBSNS) is a new mode of nursing service delivery that has been in practice for over five years, which enables nurses to provide care at clients' home. However, the acceptance and associated factors of IBSNS among caregivers of elderly with chronic diseases who are the major clients of the service were unclear. Aim: To explore the acceptance of IBSNS and its associated factors among Chinese caregivers of elderly patient with chronic diseases based on the modified Technology Acceptance Model (mTAM). Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from February 2023 to March 2023. Caregivers of hospitalized elderly with chronic diseases were recruited using convenience sampling method from three hospitals in Beijing, China. Data were obtained from self-reports of participants. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze data. Results: A total of 65.1% of the caregivers had neutral to weakly positive behavioral intention of IBSNS use. The mTAM model was supported with good model fit. Perceived ease of use was positively associated with perceived usefulness. Both perceived usefulness and perceived security were positively associated with attitude, consequently, attitude was associated with behavioral intention. Conclusions: Improving the ease of use, security, and usefulness may be helpful to increase the positive attitude towards IBSNS and behavioral intention of using IBSNS, which provides valuable insights that can help healthcare providers improve the integration of technology in patient care, ultimately leading to better health outcomes and more efficient healthcare systems. Background: There is a scarcity of evidence regarding the potential relationship between the size and location of necrotic lesions, which must be understood to provide optimal joint-preserving treatment. The purpose of this study was to characterize the distribution patterns of necrotic lesions of varying sizes in early-stage osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) with the use of three-dimensional mapping. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated clinical CT images of the hips that were performed in the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University from January 2018 to December 2022 and collected all CT images diagnosed with stage I and II ONFH. Three-dimensional structures that included both necrotic lesions and normal areas of the femoral heads were reconstructed and divided into eight regions to record their size and location. CT images for all lesions were superimposed onto a standard template, and three-dimensional mapping was created to determine the presence of concentrated areas of lesions. Results: In a cohort of 143 patients with stage I and II ONFH, a total of 150 hips were reviewed. For lesions with less than 15% of the femoral head volume, necrotic lesions predominantly involve regions I, III, and V, with region I showing concentration. For lesions with volumes ranging from 15 to 30%, necrotic lesions exhibited a wider distribution across regions I, II, III, IV, V, and VII, with significant concentrations in regions I, III, and V. For lesions exceeding 30% of the femoral head volume, the necrotic lesions were extensively distributed across nearly the entire femoral head, with a notable expansion of the concentrated necrotic areas. Conclusions: The distribution of necrotic lesions varies with lesion size, with smaller lesions primarily concentrated in the anterior and medial regions of the femoral head, particularly in the anterosuperior region, while larger lesions expand to the lateral and inferior regions.
