The article focuses on the interoperability issue with China's Compass system of positioning satellites. A recent study suggests reasons as to why interoperability may not be high on the Compass wish list. It is being noted that the multiplicity of satellites will make possible improved performance for all applications, more particularly where satellite signals can be obscured. The author stresses the increasing number of satellites and signals will provide more observations.
