In two recent papers [1-2] we have proposed a program of study which allows us to compute the correlation functions of local and semi-local fields in generalised T T ¯ -deformed integrable quantum field theories. This new program, based on the construction of form factors, opens many avenues for future study, one of which we address in this paper: computing entanglement measures employing branch point twist fields. Indeed, over the past 15 years, this has become one the leading methods for the computation of entanglement measures, both in conformal field theory and integrable quantum field theory. Thus the generalisation of this program to T T ¯ -perturbed theories offers a promising new tool for the study of entanglement measures in the presence of irrelevant perturbations. In this paper, we show that the natural two-particle form factor solution for branch point twist fields in replica theories with diagonal scattering admits a simple generalisation to a solution for T T ¯ -perturbed theories. Starting with this solution, some of the known properties of entanglement measures in massive integrable quantum field theories can be generalised to the perturbed models. We show this by focusing on the Ising field theory. During the completion of this paper, we became aware of the recent publication [3] where the same problem has been addressed. In this paper, we consider the dynamics of charge imbalance resolved negativity after a local joining quench in the 1 + 1 dimensional free complex boson CFT. In the first part, we study the local joining quench by applying conformal maps, obtaining analytical universal results. We first calculate the quench dynamics of charged logarithmic negativity. Then using the Fourier transformation, we obtain the charge imbalance resolved negativity. The total negativity can be recovered from the charge-resolved ones. In the second part, we test our CFT predictions against the underlying lattice model numerically. Finally, we explain our results based on the quasi-particle picture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We study the correlation functions of local operators in unitary T T ¯ -deformed field theories, using their formulation in terms of Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity. The position of the operators is defined using the dynamical coordinates of this formalism. We focus on the two-point correlation function in momentum space, when the undeformed theory is a conformal field theory. In particular, we compute the large momentum behavior of the correlation functions, which manifests the non-locality of the T T ¯ -deformed theory. The correlation function has UV-divergences, which are regulated by a point-splitting regulator. Renormalizing the operators requires multiplicative factors depending on the momentum, unlike the behavior in local QFTs. The large momentum limit of the correlator, which is the main result of this paper, is proportional to q − q 2 π Λ , where q is the momentum and 1/|Λ| is the deformation parameter. Interestingly, the exponent here has a different sign from earlier results obtained by resummation of small q computations. The decay at large momentum implies that the operators behave non-locally at the scale set by the deformation parameter. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We initiate the analytical functional bootstrap study of conformal field theories with large N limits. In this first paper we particularly focus on the 1D O(N) vector bootstrap. We obtain a remarkably simple bootstrap equation from the O(N) vector crossing equations in the large N limit. The numerical conformal bootstrap bound is saturated by the generalized free field theories, while its extremal functional actions do not converge to any non-vanishing limit. We study the analytical extremal functionals of this crossing equation, for which the total positivity of the SL(2, ℝ) conformal block plays a critical role. We prove the SL(2, ℝ) conformal block is totally positive in the limits with large ∆ or small 1 − z and show that the total positivity is violated below a critical value ∆ TP ∗ ≈ 0.32315626. The SL(2, ℝ) conformal block forms a surprisingly sophisticated mathematical structure, which for instance can violate total positivity at the order 10−5654 for a normal value ∆ = 0.1627! We construct a series of analytical functionals {αM} which satisfy the bootstrap positive conditions up to a range ∆ ⩽ ΛM. The functionals {αM} have a trivial large M limit. However, due to total positivity, they can approach the large M limit in a way consistent with the bootstrap positive conditions for arbitrarily high ΛM. Moreover, in the region ∆ ⩽ ΛM, the analytical functional actions are consistent with the numerical bootstrap results, therefore it clarifies the positive structure in the crossing equation analytically. Our result provides a concrete example to illustrate how the analytical properties of the conformal block lead to nontrivial bootstrap bounds. Recently introduced connections between quantum codes and Narain CFTs provide a simple ansatz to express a modular-invariant function Z τ τ ¯ in terms of a multivariate polynomial satisfying certain additional properties. These properties include algebraic identities, which ensure modular invariance of Z τ τ ¯ , and positivity and integrality of coefficients, which imply positivity and integrality of the 픲(1)n × 픲(1)n character expansion of Z τ τ ¯ . Such polynomials come naturally from codes, in the sense that each code of a certain type gives rise to the so-called enumerator polynomial, which automatically satisfies all necessary properties, while the resulting Z τ τ ¯ is the partition function of the code CFT — the Narain theory unambiguously constructed from the code. Yet there are also "fake" polynomials satisfying all necessary properties, that are not associated with any code. They lead to Z τ τ ¯ satisfying all modular bootstrap constraints (modular invariance and positivity and integrality of character expansion), but whether they are partition functions of any actual CFT is unclear. We consider the group of the six simplest fake polynomials and denounce the corresponding Z's as fake: we show that none of them is the torus partition function of any Narain theory. Moreover, four of them are not partition functions of any unitary 2d CFT; our analysis for other two is inconclusive. Our findings point to an obvious limitation of the modular bootstrap approach: not every solution of the full set of torus modular bootstrap constraints is due to an actual CFT. Crossing symmetry (CS) is the main tool in the bootstrap program applied to CFT. This consists in an equality which imposes restrictions on the CFT data of a model, i.e., the OPE coefficients and the conformal dimensions. Reflection positivity (RP) has also played a role in this program, since this condition is what leads to the unitary bound and reality of the OPE coefficients. In this paper, we show that RP can still reveal more information, explaining how RP itself can capture an important part of the restrictions imposed by the full CS equality. In order to do that, we use a connection used by us in a previous work between RP and positive definiteness of a function of a single variable. This allows us to write constraints on the OPE coefficients in a concise way. These constraints are encoded in the conditions that certain functions of the cross-ratio will be positive defined and in particular completely monotonic. We will consider how the bounding of scalar conformal dimensions and OPE coefficients arise in this RP based approach. We will illustrate the conceptual and practical value of this view trough examples of general CFT models in d-dimensions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we consider the computation of charged moments of the reduced density matrix of two disjoint intervals in the 1+1 dimensional free compactified boson conformal field theory (CFT) by studying the four-point function of the fluxed twist fields. We obtained the exact scaling function of this four-point function and discussed its decompactification limit. This scaling function was used to obtain the charged moments of the partial transpose which we refer as charged Rényi negativity. These charged moments and the charged moments of the partial transpose are essential for the problem of symmetry decomposition of the corresponding entanglement measures. We test our analytic formula against exact numerical computation in the complex harmonic chain, finding perfect agreements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The "bootstrap determination" of the geometrical correlation functions in the two-dimensional Potts model proposed in a paper by Picco et al. [1] was later shown in [2] to be incorrect, the actual spectrum of the model being considerably more complex than initially conjectured. We provide in this paper a geometrical interpretation of the four- point functions built in [1], and explain why the results obtained by these authors, albeit incorrect, appeared so close to those of their numerical simulations of the Potts model. Our strategy is based on a cluster expansion of correlation functions in RSOS minimal models, and a subsequent numerical and algebraic analysis of the corresponding s-channel spectrum, in full analogy with our early work on the Potts model [2]. Remarkable properties of the lattice amplitudes are uncovered, which explain in particular the truncation of the spectrum of [2] to the much simpler one of the RSOS models, and which will be used in a forthcoming paper to finally determine the geometrical four-point functions of the Potts model itself. In this paper, we investigate the partition functions of conformal field theories (CFTs) with the T T ¯ deformation on a torus in terms of the perturbative QFT approach. In Lagrangian path integral formalism, the first- and second-order deformations to the partition functions of 2D free bosons, free Dirac fermions, and free Majorana fermions on a torus are obtained. The corresponding Lagrangian counterterms in these theories are also discussed. The first two orders of the deformed partition functions and the first-order vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the first quantum KdV charge obtained by the perturbative QFT approach are consistent with results obtained by the Hamiltonian formalism in literature. In this paper we use the spinor-helicity formalism to calculate 3-point functions involving scalar operators and spin-s conserved currents in general 3d CFTs. In spinor-helicity variables we notice that the parity-even and the parity-odd parts of a correlator are related. Upon converting spinor-helicity answers to momentum space, we show that correlators involving spin-s currents can be expressed in terms of some simple conformally invariant conserved structures. This in particular allows us to understand and separate out contact terms systematically, especially for the parity-odd case. This work concerns the quantum Lorentzian and Euclidean black hole non-linear sigma models. For the Euclidean black hole sigma model an equilibrium density matrix is proposed, which reproduces the modular invariant partition function from the 2001 paper of Maldacena, Ooguri and Son. For the Lorentzian black hole sigma model, using its formulation as a gauged SL(2, ℝ) WZW model, we describe the linear and Hermitian structure of its space of states and also propose an expression for the equilibrium density matrix. Our analysis is guided by the results of the study of a certain critical, integrable spin chain. In the scaling limit, the latter exhibits the key features of the Lorentzian black hole sigma model including the same global symmetries, the same algebra of extended conformal symmetry and a continuous spectrum of conformal dimensions. We extend the definition of ‘alpha space’ as introduced in [1] to two spacetime dimensions. We discuss how this can be used to find conformal block decompositions of known functions and how to easily recover several lightcone bootstrap results. We continue our study of reflected entropy, R(A, B), for Gaussian systems. In this paper we provide general formulas valid for free scalar fields in arbitrary dimensions. Similarly to the fermionic case, the resulting expressions are fully determined in terms of correlators of the fields, making them amenable to lattice calculations. We apply this to the case of a (1 + 1)-dimensional chiral scalar, whose reflected entropy we compute for two intervals as a function of the cross-ratio, comparing it with previous holographic and free-fermion results. For both types of free theories we find that reflected entropy satisfies the conjectural monotonicity property R(A, BC) ≥ R(A, B). Then, we move to (2 + 1) dimensions and evaluate it for square regions for free scalars, fermions and holography, determining the very-far and very-close regimes and comparing them with their mutual information counterparts. In all cases considered, both for (1 + 1)- and (2 + 1)-dimensional theories, we verify that the general inequality relating both quantities, R(A, B) ≥ I (A, B), is satisfied. Our results suggest that for general regions characterized by length-scales LA ∼ LB ∼ L and separated a distance ℓ, the reflected entropy in the large-separation regime (x ≡ L/ℓ ≪ 1) behaves as R(x) ∼ −I(x) log x for general CFTs in arbitrary dimensions. We continue the study of the bosonic O(N)3 model with quartic interactions and long-range propagator. The symmetry group allows for three distinct invariant 𝜙4 composite operators, known as tetrahedron, pillow and double-trace. As shown in [1, 2], the tetrahedron operator is exactly marginal in the large-N limit and for a purely imaginary tetrahedron coupling a line of real infrared fixed points (parametrized by the absolute value of the tetrahedron coupling) is found for the other two couplings. These fixed points have real critical exponents and a real spectrum of bilinear operators, satisfying unitarity constraints. This raises the question whether at large-N the model is unitary, despite the tetrahedron coupling being imaginary. In this paper, we first rederive the above results by a different regularization and renormalization scheme. We then discuss the operator mixing for composite operators and we give a perturbative proof of conformal invariance of the model at the infrared fixed points by adapting a similar proof from the long-range Ising model. At last, we identify the scaling operators at the fixed point and compute the two- and three-point functions of 𝜙4 and 𝜙2 composite operators. The correlations have the expected conformal behavior and the OPE coefficients are all real, reinforcing the claim that the large-N CFT is unitary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We show that the four-point functions in conformal field theory are defined as distributions on the boundary of the region of convergence of the conformal block expansion. The conformal block expansion converges in the sense of distributions on this boundary, i.e. it can be integrated term by term against appropriate test functions. This can be interpreted as a giving a new class of functionals that satisfy the swapping property when applied to the crossing equation, and we comment on the relation of our construction to other types of functionals. Our language is useful in all considerations involving the boundary of the region of convergence, e.g. for deriving the dispersion relations. We establish our results by elementary methods, relying only on crossing symmetry and the standard convergence properties of the conformal block expansion. In this paper we provide a universal description of the behavior of the basic operators of the Schwarzian theory in pure states. When the pure states are energy eigenstates, expectation values of non-extensive operators are thermal. On the other hand, in coherent pure states, these same operators can exhibit ergodic or non-ergodic behavior, which is characterized by elliptic, parabolic or hyperbolic monodromy of an auxiliary equation; or equivalently, which coadjoint Virasoro orbit the state lies on. These results allow us to establish an extended version of the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH) in theories with a Schwarzian sector. We also elucidate the role of FZZT-type boundary conditions in the Schwarzian theory, shedding light on the physics of microstates associated with ZZ branes and FZZT branes in low dimensional holography. In this paper, we use the replica approach to study the Rényi entropy SL of generic locally excited states in (1+1)D CFTs, which are constructed from the insertion of multiple product of local primary operators on vacuum. Alternatively, one can calculate the Rényi entropy SR corresponding to the same states using Schmidt decomposition and operator product expansion, which reduces the multiple product of local primary operators to linear combination of operators. The equivalence SL = SR translates into an identity in terms of the F symbols and quantum dimensions for rational CFT, and the latter can be proved algebraically. This, along with a series of papers, gives a complete picture of how the quantum information quantities and the intrinsic structure of (1+1)D CFTs are consistently related. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model provides an uncommon example of a chaotic theory that can be analysed analytically. In the deep infrared limit, the original model has an emergent conformal (reparametrisation) symmetry that is broken both spontaneously and explicitly. The explicit breaking of this symmetry comes about due to pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone modes that are not exact zero-modes of the model. In this paper, we study a version of the model which preserves the reparametrisation symmetry at all length scales. We study the heavy-light correlation functions of the operators in the conformal spectrum of the theory. The three point functions of such operators allow us to demonstrate that matrix elements of primaries O n of the CFT1 take the form postulated by the Eigenstate Thermalisation Hypothesis. The Truncated conformal space approach (TCSA) is a numerical technique for finding finite size spectrum of Hamiltonians in quantum field theory described as perturbations of conformal field theories. The truncation errors of the method have been systematically studied near the UV fixed point (when the characteristic energy related to the coupling is less than the truncation cutoff) where a good theoretical understanding has been achieved. However numerically the method demonstrated a good agreement with other methods for much larger values of the coupling when the RG flow approaches a new fixed point in the infrared. In the present paper we investigate this regime for a number of boundary RG flows testing the leading exponent and truncation errors. We also study the flows beyond the first fixed point which have been observed numerically but yet lack a theoretical understanding. We show that while in some models such flows approximate reversed physical RG flows, in other models the spectrum approaches a stable regime that does not correspond to any local boundary condition. Furthermore we find that in general the flows beyond the first fixed point are very sensitive to modifications of the truncation scheme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we further study the 1d Schwarzian theory, the universal low-energy limit of Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev models, using the link with 2d Liouville theory. We provide a path-integral derivation of the structural link between both theories, and study the relation between 3d gravity, 2d Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity, 2d Liouville and the 1d Schwarzian. We then generalize the Schwarzian double-scaling limit to rational models, relevant for SYK-type models with internal symmetries. We identify the holographic gauge theory as a 2d BF theory and compute correlators of the holographically dual 1d particle-on-a-group action, decomposing these into diagrammatic building blocks, in a manner very similar to the Schwarzian theory. Warped conformal field theory (WCFT) is a two dimensional quantum field theory whose local symmetry algebra consists of a Virasoro algebra and a U(1) Kac-Moody algebra. In this paper, we study correlation functions for primary operators in WCFT. Similar to conformal symmetry, warped conformal symmetry is very constraining. The form of the two and three point functions are determined by the global warped conformal symmetry while the four point functions can be determined up to an arbitrary function of the cross ratio. The warped conformal bootstrap equation are constructed by formulating the notion of crossing symmetry. In the large central charge limit, four point functions can be decomposed into global warped conformal blocks, which can be solved exactly. Furthermore, we revisit the scattering problem in warped AdS spacetime (WAdS), and give a prescription on how to match the bulk result to a WCFT retarded Green’s function.
