Background: Quality in health is an emergent concern, particularly in surgical settings, and is associated with the investment of each profession, including nurses. Objective: To evaluate nurses' perceptions of the quality in health in the operating room as regards structure, process, and outcome. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted in a sample of 478 nurses working for at least 2 years in an operating room. An electronic questionnaire was applied, including the scales - Structure Indicators in the Operating Room (IEBO), Quality Care Processes in the Operating Room (PQABO), and Quality Outcomes in the Operating Room (RQBO). Results: The highest evaluations occurred in outcomes. However, the structure dimensions, namely Circuits in the operating room, Continuity in nursing care, and Specificities of professional groups, had the lowest ratings. Conclusion: The evaluation of quality is essential because of the important role that nurses can play in these settings, namely in planning corrections and improvements for the quality and safety of care. Background: The working conditions of emergency department professionals and the technification of healthcare have had a negative impact on the healthcare professional-patient relationship, dehumanizing it. Objective: This qualitative study explored nurses' perspectives about the humanization of healthcare in Spanish emergency departments. Methodology: A qualitative design, centred on the opinions of 11 nurses working in the emergency department was applied via semi-structured interviews. Data were analysed using the content analysis technique. Results: Two main themes were identified: The dimensions of humanized healthcare and implementing humanized healthcare at emergency departments, as well as five subthemes. Conclusion: Recommendations are put forward to strengthen initiatives for implementing integrated models of healthcare assistance. The implementation of holistic, patient and family-oriented healthcare is essential to guaranteeing humanized healthcare at the emergency department. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To identify the perception of the nursing team about the motivational factors in the work environment. Methods: An exploratory study with a qualitative approach, carried out from January to February, 2015, in the pediatrics sector of a reference hospital of medium complexity, with 12 nursing technicians and nine nurses. The data collection was based on interviews guided by a semi-structured instrument and the data collected were analyzed according to Bardin. Results: The main factors that could contribute to the motivation of the nursing team were: sufficient supply of materials; motivational meetings; standardization of conduits and elaboration of assistance protocols; training courses and training; increased communication and feedback among the team of activities performed. The factors that discouraged them were: lack of recognition of the profession, lack of material, poor remuneration, excessive workload, high number of patients and nonconstructive criticism. Conclusions: The results identified could contribute with nursing managers to the planning of strategies that aim to increase the motivation in the professionals of the team. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
